- 1:38Make unknown leave to be a second person with that wanted in connection with
- 1:44the robbery or the third National Banks. So alright, what's going on in
- 1:59here? About time? You're waking up? Pop? A mob and the
- 2:01great today just cleaned out the plate? Yeah, I heard all the first
- 2:05the way he's down on the street, that come hot, putting it up
- 2:07here as fast as the good anything I can do on a lieutenant, handle
- 2:10the thing that retiring you next month. Pop, you're getting so slow you
- 2:15can't even give out a pocket cricket. Get shutting. There's plenty alive left
- 2:20these dogs, even if they do bark at times when this happens or just
- 2:23a few minutes ago, and then they get away in a big car.
- 2:25It all happened so quick. Nobody seemed to have a good idea of what
- 2:29happened. Gag, Yeah, how many of them? In order to reports
- 2:31Dipper, some sake ten comes, take twel It's more like an army.
- 2:36These gangsters are getting a lot of crush down there. Crush. They're getting
- 2:39a lot of dough. Yes, me, they won't do them no good.
- 2:42These ways they're wooden. Back in the old days, we didn't put
- 2:46up those things like this when I was your age, who captain bread and
- 2:50fall so many times? I know if my heart, we're looking in a
- 2:54changing age. Pop high powered cards, the machine guns. Changed on your
- 2:59methods. The reason they're shoving you. They need young blood and young brain.
- 3:02Right. Always said you had more brains than your feet. You did
- 3:06your head. I used to tell you a pup, but you were Yeah,
- 3:09I know. But I'm on the fourth and the retire and you only
- 3:13because I wanted to go. Who's on the job. The Pennant Myers another
- 3:17young punk, according to you, is in the opposite of president over there
- 3:23the mosy and he gives things once over, okay, but if he throws
- 3:27you out, don't blame me. I't worries another come hop burned up and
- 3:31I hit him about his retirement. Yeah, and depending all his life on
- 3:36the forest. Propa Drada died and attire. Look at them go barging into
- 3:39that door, locking you on the place. The thanks the for yees see.
- 3:50But they're very up shifted from the Federal Reserve to meet these factors.
- 3:53I see and oh, hello, Pop, that's aforble. This is not
- 3:58the letters pop out of you. Do you sit down on the top.
- 4:02I'm right in the middle of this thing. We're at a head. How
- 4:05much are you offer perform? Well, just finished up to check uppy.
- 4:09It's more than one hundred and ninety outs. Who knew the money was coming
- 4:12here? Let's stop it. No one except myself to me that it was
- 4:14coming. I was the only one who knew that that money would arrive here
- 4:16at exactly five minutes afters Well, what transaction did you make with the Federal
- 4:20Reserve? Well, I made the requisitions and the money over my private phone
- 4:24about ten o'clock this morning. Ten o'clock Tom looked at the twelve five.
- 4:29That mob may fast time. He's unbelievable. I can't understand how the information
- 4:32leaks out. Why even if the precaution were sending my own sons with the
- 4:35money in my car, Oh sent your son? But yeah, but William,
- 4:41that's my tut didn't have any idea that he was going after I did
- 4:45him to believe that I was sending him at this little non negotiable security strains
- 4:48that no assent was made to take the money while I was in his possession.
- 4:51Yes, you tell me as nearly as you can just what happened.
- 4:55Well, yeah, I was just coming out of my office when I know
- 4:59just what to deer. Rather unusually large number of customers get it about the
- 5:02lovelies. Certainly one of the men tried out. It is a stickup.
- 5:05Don't anybody reach the alarm? Oh Taylor, that that watchman amailing around the
- 5:12corner with the gun in his hand, and it's one of them shopping.
- 5:15He's a good friend of mine. How is it? We don't know your
- 5:17top You say the whole transaction was made over your private home. Was there
- 5:23anyone else in your office at the time. I can't remember the Miss Hues
- 5:28was in that time, And no, no, I'm sure she wasn'tout do
- 5:30anything shopping. It was almost the lunch hower. You know. It's hugely
- 5:34your my secretary, I see. Oh, it's an inside job, someone
- 5:40inside this. Thank you about the money transfer. You all about it.
- 5:43What's more, they had a gang standing by and readiness for a break like
- 5:46this. Thinkable you've been robbed. That's evidence enough for you. But I
- 5:49was the only one to know about the money that someone else knew about it.
- 5:55That is, unless you had the money stolen yourself. It is highly
- 5:58fand agested. George send in the bank and the race took place. I
- 6:01don't know, was miss Hughes, I think so, yeah it is.
- 6:06I'm sure that. Yes, miss here, I remember distinctly one of the
- 6:11sudden wasn't the great in my private office with again and the us just return
- 6:15for lunch? She said, this is a shopping tour it was. I
- 6:18presume she had lens at the same time. Did Miss Hughes see the bandits?
- 6:24Yeah? It was quite a sea the ender the office, missus hid
- 6:27it is? Yeah, the brave young lady wasn't it? Would I see
- 6:31her? There's no reason for that, Pop, I'm inscitable right now?
- 6:35Where is your son? Where? The girl may know? She won't know
- 6:40anymore than the rest of these people, didn't like Everyone was standing around here
- 6:43like a white image, and the place was thick with alarm. The side.
- 6:46I'm busy and you won't mind the no? Okay, oh you miss
- 7:01yes, thank you're going out. Yeah, there is more than I can
- 7:05send. Michter Forbes has given me the rest of the day off. I
- 7:10see. My name is Adams. Adams to the boys station. Mister Forbes
- 7:15tells me that one of the bandits sports his way into his office. That's
- 7:19right, Well why did he come in? Yeah? There there wasn't any
- 7:23money in yell, was there? No? Forbes tards me that you were
- 7:27very raised girl. They just threw an ink? Well at the man,
- 7:30yes, but what comes in that action? Well, not that tail not
- 7:35if you don't care to well, I don't mind telling you, but I
- 7:40don't want it in the newspapers. Why did you hit it? Because because
- 7:45he kissed me, I can't say that I blame him. And where did
- 7:50you hit him? I don't know. On his chest. I think he
- 7:55must have got an ink. I mean sure I didn't know it. If
- 8:00we can get him, Mister Bob said that you had been out shopping.
- 8:05Where were you in motail? Oh? Would you always do your shopping in
- 8:09a man's store? No? What, I was buying something, something for
- 8:13my brother? You better w'd you buy it? Really? Mister Adams,
- 8:18I can't say the sense and all of this. I'm tired. I've had
- 8:20more than I can find. I'm going home. I'm sure we had no
- 8:24objection to, lad, but I would like to know what you've bought for
- 8:28your brother. Well, if you must know, I've bought him a shirt.
- 8:33Shut that's funny. You know. If I wasn't a sensible top,
- 8:37I'd figured that maybe I had this thing all arranged, that your brother led
- 8:43this gang, and you bought a shirt to take place with the one you
- 8:48were going to smear up with that intware. You can think what you please,
- 8:52TONI would it make any difference if I told you that my brother is
- 8:54working in a lumber camp about two thousand miles from here. I can see
- 8:58even a dumb top I play that, mister. It would just put more
- 9:03questions. Did you get a good look at the man? Yes? And
- 9:05I've already given the other officer a full description. Now I'm going home.
- 9:09Any objections, all very well, that's a new good, oh opera.
- 9:22This is important, all Lieutenant in my eyes, and tell him the top
- 9:24Adams is following this. Hue called to see that she is in time.
- 9:28That is good, Thank you having me tennant. Nothing new, Mike.
- 9:54If you heard from Pop Adam that kind is crazy in the fruit because you're
- 9:58sticking around outside the shoes he's a partner of sixty is three o'clock said,
- 10:01he's a pree the gang. I'll try to silence him. Well, let
- 10:05him have his little fun. He's being retired. That last song calls probably
- 10:09run Tommy pool and Tommy free falls? Or who runs who? Who?
- 10:13And who freed the corner of substance sponsor or bron bomber? Did you hear
- 10:16that? Colom? The prone man step on the night that bred pop adamses
- 10:22and he's in trouble. We'll tid him around here. Look tennant, Look
- 10:37that's one of these people, right, hey, you yell? You have
- 10:39a copper around here? Anybody else sing? Noon? We all heard the
- 10:43shots and the woman's screamed. But we want too late to see what happens.
- 10:48Everybody says the cart on that great man, He shouldn't look the player
- 10:52over there, blood. Here's a cat too. It's tost chap. Looks
- 11:00like they plucked them and took them for a ride. There's something else on
- 11:01the road, brother. Down there, it's a cold sleeve and there's the
- 11:05rest of his cotana head. Come on, Lieutenant hop trying to leave.
- 11:09What's the trail? We've got to find it? And follow it. Yeah,
- 11:30what'd you find this? Then his head? I got sure that we
- 11:33lost the trail back without lampfolds down and down in lieutenant head, it looks
- 11:39like a shoe. You need the shoes. Come on, I take it
- 11:43easy. We find up where we are. Look, he has a shoe
- 11:48right outside of this door. Get your gun. I'm going through it.
- 11:54But the love up, tea. Let's never get here. Those guys like
- 12:00I got them now. I want to move you mob child in Autolia.
- 12:03The whole packet that my grandfriend and he's run for got an hour, two
- 12:09weeks to walk from to a phone. Let me buy that room for you,
- 12:15all right, I started bleeding now, they's two slugs of my right
- 12:20shouldren. When they came up with the girl, the girl's huge. I
- 12:24said them here the best they could leaven things for you to follow, And
- 12:28I got in here. I slipped in on them. You'd never get here
- 12:33today, right, let's huge. Ear. I mean I almost had the
- 12:37knocker for a roller lamp posted. I guess you mean got locked in the
- 12:41room below. They're sweet. He rung this mob. Yah, at least
- 13:05that's better. Just the second LEA Sector inspector Kenney. This is Professor Temple
- 13:13at bloom Thiel's University. Okay, here immediately, might want a matter is
- 13:20the greatest important? Certainly not things to be wrong that I would rather fair.
- 13:26Well, then I will be there in fifteen minutes. Thanks, I'm
- 13:33leaving for bloom Thield University on an investigation. Have Adams take over the bed,
- 13:56that is, and Inspector Kenny had brought called Professor Richards Jones. Let
- 14:03me take your head, inspector, thinker, Pessor Richards is expecting you.
- 14:07She'll be right in. Oh, Professor Richards is a woman. Yes,
- 14:11you followed her work only now then in the magazine. And perhaps you don't
- 14:16know that he's considered one of the greatest brain space. Let's alive. She
- 14:20was recently awarded. Oh there you are, Professor Richards. How do you
- 14:26do? Shold him? Nothing? Mother, I thought it would be better
- 14:31to wait until you arrived. Then we could talk of the story together.
- 14:33Very well. Let us be seeing okay, uh, you meaning Professor Mark
- 14:39Mathematicians. Yes, he died the day before yesterday, so the paper it
- 14:45wasn't new to Scientific World inspective. Professor Mars has been expecting death for the
- 14:48past six months he had a very serious forma pocasy. The greatest hot specialist
- 14:54in the world have given him up for day. Progress of Professor Mark will
- 14:58be a sad blow to sign. However, he may be of greater value
- 15:03dead than alive. And how did you mean that? Aren't you getting ahead
- 15:07of the story, Martha? So perhaps I asked what I had Professor Temple
- 15:11called for to day, Inspectors, if you help us with a very delicate
- 15:13situation, tell me true, I shall do that. The situation is precisely
- 15:20this. Professor Mark died at four o'clock the day before Yesterday afternoon, at
- 15:24five his body was transported to the Williams and Randall Mortuary and in bombed that
- 15:28night. The attendant reported leaving the mortuary at midnight. At seven o'clock the
- 15:35next morning, the body was gone gone. Yes if the first boss that
- 15:41perhaps had had been removed at the corners off, but later investigations showed that
- 15:46it had mocked. Why on earth should anyone want to see a body here?
- 15:50This note which I received this morning will answer that quest. Leave the
- 15:58prepared to aur Agent's the son of twenty five thousand dollars and the body of
- 16:04Professor Mark will be returned to you within twenty four hours. I know it
- 16:11sounds rather incredible. Space We're prepared to pay the man. But what would
- 16:15you want with the Professor Marcu's body? This paper dated six months ago will
- 16:19answer that it's rather than I'll read only the part of your intercut, and
- 16:26so, in consideration for the above mentioned terms and sipuations, upon my death,
- 16:30I agree that my attorney shall deliver to Professor Marca Richards and her associate,
- 16:34Professor Alden Temple, the brain for my dead body. Said brain to
- 16:40be used in scientific research for the advancement of mankind, signs Professor Adolph Mark.
- 16:47There's a document duly signed and sea and the price. The price for
- 16:51Professor Mark's brain was fifty thousand dollars to be paid by us to his knee,
- 16:56Auntie, you unlawtedly held Professor Marc's brain to be of high that yes,
- 17:00I ask what you intended doing with it. Professor Marx was one of
- 17:03the most bringed men of the age. His mind was regarded as the most
- 17:07highly developed of any man in the human race. It is only natural that
- 17:11we, that is, Professor Temple and myself should be interested in securing the
- 17:14brain for examination. I see, so the matter of the rain before the
- 17:18properer forces and all we had to do was wait for Professor Mark's death,
- 17:22which is an editence as an editor caution. Professor Temple suggested that we ensure
- 17:26the brain against them insurance. Yes, you see, Professor Marx traveled a
- 17:30great deal in spite of his coffee. We were afraid that he might die
- 17:34and as collisioner in some accidental manner which would themage a delicate brain cell.
- 17:38I see. We accordingly insured the brain of the Athletic company for one hundred
- 17:42thousand dollars. Oh, why is that a large amount, Professor Richardson,
- 17:47so that we might cover the original fifty thousand we had agreed to pay in
- 17:49fifty thousand for the damage to our plans. Oh do you have any idea
- 17:52who this person who signs his name tree Vyne is not the flight, do
- 17:56you, Professor Temple? No, how many persons preside yourself knew what you
- 18:02were intending to do is shoes. We were successful in keeping the details of
- 18:06the transaction of the newspapers as it was. One reporter discovered the story,
- 18:11and we had some difficulty in persuading him not to prety. No, that's
- 18:12an interesting point. Who is the reporter, he's Bird Adams the columns and
- 18:18said he unfortunately he knew everything. He was given a duplicate the agreement if
- 18:22you see in front of you, but it's not from Professor Markston. And
- 18:26how did you succeed in suppressing the news? Well, the Professor Temple gave
- 18:30the reporter a gift. I bribe. How much it cost us five hundred
- 18:37dollars. I got off cheaply at that. If I know Bird Adams,
- 18:40when did it not arrive? Did you think this morning? And you've told
- 18:42Noran, I've a decrepted not out. No Ah, Professor Richards, I'll
- 18:47do what I can. Don't make the news of this republic until I've had
- 18:49a few hours to work on the case. What procedure new contemplating inspector,
- 18:53No, honestly the attendant of the mortuary. Then I'll have to talk with
- 18:56this keyhold artist Bird Adams, spot pilight of this evening here. Oh you
- 19:23know, I take this, Yeah, take a Yeah, here's Bird Adams
- 19:26or it is death. It is not the laddest scam. Yeah, sure,
- 19:30over Oh, Adam. Well, well, well, i's just my
- 19:37old famous spectaginna here I have a chance a lighter as the guy tell me
- 19:41what's new? Not so fast, Adam, Oh you mean he didn't come
- 19:44here with news and only thirty minutes the headline, Oh, come on,
- 19:47expected to be a right guy? Give me some news, you know.
- 19:49He whole shirt off the phrase, I'm ruined for your trying of news,
- 19:53Adam. We're gonna talk a few minutes right here, I mean in private.
- 19:56Oh step pride in here him and the old man said, uh uh,
- 20:04that's on your mind, Kenny. I've got the news for you,
- 20:07but it's going to cost you sure good. Tell nobody ever called Bert Adams
- 20:11the chiefs skate. I pay for my dirt, buy it for the ton
- 20:14I know that's the dope. Professor Marx is dead old stuff. I scooped
- 20:18the tone and that the day before yesterday, last night, his body was
- 20:21stolen from a mortuary downtown. What but the love of Mike, this is
- 20:25hot news. Wait, so I rush off a lead on it. Man,
- 20:27Not so fast. The news will keep. There's not another paper in
- 20:30the country. It was ann mile of it. So much the better you
- 20:33don't print the news until you hear my price. What is your price,
- 20:37Kenny? I want to know what you had to do with the roomoval of
- 20:38the body. Oh so you've been toll ow Professor Richards day and you get
- 20:41it while you're answering nothing. I didn't know nothing about it until you told
- 20:45me right now. But you were the only one and knew of the deal
- 20:48Professor Richards and Professor Temper made for the brain. I know it, but
- 20:51I didn't have anything to do with the disappearance. Why did I keep a
- 20:53dead body? Why did I do with it? Knowing how badly the professors
- 20:56wanted it? You'd got a blackmail and for twenty five thousand dollars. Oh,
- 21:00they wouldn't say it as they would and if I don't recover, they'll
- 21:03do just that, no kidding. That's given to you a straight kid.
- 21:06Even as far as insuring it for one hundred thousand bucks, well, then
- 21:08here's a straight dope inspector. I don't know anything about it, not a
- 21:14thing. So if I have any other leads, don't waste any time on
- 21:15me. The only thing I'm asking you is to let me run the store,
- 21:18and you forget the five hundred bucks, Professor Temple, give you a
- 21:22kill story of the deal. Well, I didn't run it, did I?
- 21:25I won't say anything about it now. You'll only just let me say,
- 21:27Inspector, don't you have to keep a body on ice or something for
- 21:33forgetting that? Adam? Just you let me run that story. And here's
- 21:36what I do for you. I'll take the whole thing and me And do
- 21:56you mean inspected? Give me? Yes? He said the light you ask
- 22:00him? Not? Pree? You so connected downstairs? Ron, He certainly
- 22:07have a nice home here. And sorry I was too late to catch at
- 22:11the university. That's quite all right. Do you do much experimenting here?
- 22:15You see, we're not well enough to quick. I was wondering. So
- 22:18you wanted to see him? Was all? He takes Achilles with you,
- 22:22he nest I went to the mortuary. I don't know if I was supposed
- 22:26to be an all night attendant. He told me a rather odd story.
- 22:30Indeed, yeah, he said that after the morgue attendant laughter, around midnight,
- 22:33that he was patrolling one of the corridors when the light went out for
- 22:37a minute. He said, the volley was wandering around looking for the fuse.
- 22:40He started a pin break in his arms, and then a few minutes
- 22:42later the light went on. How long were they off? Only a few
- 22:45minutes later he got very sleepy and doze off at the pin break. He
- 22:49thought was undottedly a shot in the arms on drug and the body was stolen
- 22:53during the time he was asleep. But who could do a thing like that,
- 22:57someone with a knowledge of drugst noise? That was like someone in the
- 23:03basement, quick bother. Either one of you move into that door open?
- 23:07So what are you? Don't move into that door open? Yeah? Respect,
- 23:11we have joke. Good right, the old guy's down there. Hey,
- 23:14look great there, try to run past me with you by Adams.
- 23:19I'm sorry, Professor Richard, you're under arrest for fraud. Just what do
- 23:23you mean? Don't you act so innocent? But Inspector Kenny got you to
- 23:26call kept out of the base. Knight clip down and I find a nice
- 23:30beat restricerator down there with a body of Professor Marx in it. You can't
- 23:33do a thing. Oh that's where you're a mistaken. You thought you could
- 23:37fool everybody with that note. You thought you could make us believe that somebody
- 23:41was holding Professor Marx's body bar ransom and it was a little bit too far
- 23:44fetched, right, you are inspector is. As I got to looking around,
- 23:48I found out that you couldn't possibly. I have paid fifty thousand dollars
- 23:51for the brain it's called for in your agreement. You don't have the money.
- 23:53What's more, the university is up to it. The neck and dead
- 23:56in the bank is threatening the poor close You thought you could beat the d
- 24:00company out of one hundred thousand dollars and the brain designs You stole that,
- 24:04buddy, and you know it. Welcome back. You've definitely see some of
- 24:26the uh less pleasant parts of previous times. In the first episode uh with
- 24:34the police with the police officers comment to the woman witnesses account of being kissed
- 24:44by the robber. Also, the other thing with this episode is the voice
- 24:49of the policeman. It's something I used to get a lot of comments on
- 24:53the Dragnet show where actors would sound really old playing older people, and there
- 25:02was case cases for on Dragonet where they were playing you know, retirees and
- 25:07things like that. In this case, though, it seems a bit odd
- 25:12since this person is a policeman, and similarly even though they're nearing retirement and
- 25:19a bit older. Sounded a little feeble to be believable on that. I
- 25:26like the second one, the stolen Brain. That was an interesting case with
- 25:30a good premise and a not a solution. Again, you have one of
- 25:38those stories where the vital solving clue comes from somebody other than the police.
- 25:45But it definitely made sense and it was a bold certainly a bold plan because
- 25:55they they called the police in on themselves in effect, but that was necessary
- 26:00to make it look genuine and above suspicion, and so overall that was a
- 26:07pretty good episode. Next week will be our final episodes of Police Headquarters and
