- 0:32Welcome to the Clydesdale Media Roundtable.
- 0:36What's up?
- 0:37We got the full crew today.
- 0:38Amy Radowski, Kat Shearer, Charlie Odie.
- 0:42What's going on, everybody?
- 0:44Hi.
- 0:46You know, just getting back in the swing of things with work, and it's a cold, blistery, wet, rainy day.
- 0:56It's really rainy.
- 0:57It's really rainy.
- 0:58I wish it was snow.
- 0:59No, I wish we had Wadapalooza weather.
- 1:03Yeah, I wish it was hot.
- 1:04Although last year, Wadapalooza, it was freezing cold.
- 1:07Was it?
- 1:09Freezing.
- 1:11Actually freezing because that would be 32 degrees.
- 1:14Freezing for the wardrobe that I packed.
- 1:17Okay.
- 1:17All right, fair.
- 1:21Yeah, there were no cute outfits last year at Wadapalooza.
- 1:25Lots of sweats.
- 1:26Well, in the year before, wasn't there like a torrential downpour and they had to like delay?
- 1:30Oh yeah.
- 1:31Yep.
- 1:32Yeah.
- 1:34I think what it cut down to like the forties at night, right?
- 1:38Yeah.
- 1:38We didn't, it was not typical Florida weather.
- 1:41That's for sure.
- 1:45Yeah.
- 1:46So fun stuff.
- 1:47So we haven't been together in a couple of weeks.
- 1:50I know.
- 1:51How, how was everybody's holiday?
- 1:53Okay.
- 1:54It's good.
- 1:55Really good.
- 1:56Yeah, it was it was nice family time.
- 2:00And Natalie's still home, which means it's only going to make it harder when she goes back to school.
- 2:05Yeah, everybody in my house is home too.
- 2:08Yeah.
- 2:08No, they go back this Sunday.
- 2:10They start after President's Day.
- 2:14Martin Luther King.
- 2:15Oh, sorry.
- 2:16Yeah, not President's Day.
- 2:17Sorry, Martin Luther King.
- 2:18Sorry.
- 2:20Brayden goes back, I think on like the 23rd and Eliana doesn't go back until the 3rd of February because they have trimesters.
- 2:26Yeah.
- 2:26She didn't do intercession.
- 2:28Okay.
- 2:30So here's my big thing with Ellis today is her boyfriend is leaving for bootcamp.
- 2:34He's in, he's doing the national guard.
- 2:36Yeah.
- 2:37So he's taking a semester off of school so that they will pay for his college education and he'll be back in the, for next fall for the semester next fall.
- 2:46However, he's gone for 16 weeks.
- 2:50Yes.
- 2:52And the two of them have been, you know, they're young and they've been dating for like two years now.
- 2:58They are like each other's people to the extreme.
- 3:01And I'm worried about her.
- 3:03I'm really worried about her.
- 3:04I know he's, you know, super sad, doesn't want to go.
- 3:07And they're driving him up to his hotel tonight.
- 3:09And I'm on like standby for whatever.
- 3:14Yes.
- 3:14Big time.
- 3:15I mean, like I think about it, I cry.
- 3:17Like, it's just like, so I just feel bad for her because I'm sure they're going to be fine, but it's just, you know, it sucks when you're young.
- 3:24That is a really long time.
- 3:26And he doesn't have phone access to a phone either.
- 3:28So it's not like they're going to be texting on or any kind of regular basis, like literally writing letters.
- 3:34That's kind of cute though.
- 3:35It's adorable, but I just feel bad for him.
- 3:37So yeah.
- 3:38I'm keeping an eye on her TikTok account, making sure everything's okay.
- 3:42That's like the barometer of sanity and mental health these days.
- 3:46Yeah.
- 3:47Oh, go ahead, Charlie.
- 3:50When he can retire at 40, it'll be fine.
- 3:53Well, exactly, yeah.
- 3:57My nephew just got deployed from the guards to Africa.
- 4:03Oh, okay.
- 4:04so he left december 31st and he will be there for nine months at least okay uh so yeah how old is he scott uh i think he's like 27. okay so single a single guy no three kids wife oh wow okay geez yeah i don't know which is worse yeah so uh
- 4:32I look crazy.
- 4:33Charlie's like, where do I sign up?
- 4:35When do they leave?
- 4:40You don't even need to get your hair cut.
- 4:42You're good.
- 4:43I'm ready.
- 4:46Yeah, he has three weeks of like a new basic training for what this mission is.
- 4:51I think he's in like San Antonio right now.
- 4:54And then he leaves for Africa in a couple weeks.
- 4:58That's crazy.
- 5:00I have a, my cousin is a nuclear engineer for the Navy.
- 5:04And he goes away all the time and nobody knows where he is.
- 5:09Yeah.
- 5:10I wouldn't think so.
- 5:10Most of the time he doesn't even know, you know, where he's going until like 24 hours prior to, and when he comes home, he's, he has a fiance.
- 5:19They only notify like your person 24 hours before you come home.
- 5:23Like, Oh, by the way, you know, James will be home tomorrow.
- 5:26Kind of a thing.
- 5:26It's crazy.
- 5:30Yeah.
- 5:31I mean, talk about that's some heavy stuff.
- 5:34That's real heavy stuff.
- 5:35Yeah.
- 5:37On a lighter note, I have some positive things to share with you about Mr. Odie, because behind the scenes, we've been talking some smack to each other about, are we going to do the cold plunge thing?
- 5:52And I will tell you,
- 5:54I think he's just like Carrie Pierce Power Abs.
- 5:57He's done day one.
- 5:59We're still waiting on day two.
- 6:00I've gone three days.
- 6:02Okay.
- 6:03Three days.
- 6:04How long?
- 6:05As long as it's like three minutes.
- 6:10Oh, that's impressive.
- 6:11But then I saw Jesus at one point.
- 6:17He came.
- 6:18I'm waiting for the, what had happened was.
- 6:20He's like, you should probably get out.
- 6:22And so I was like, no.
- 6:24But then he was frozen and he couldn't move.
- 6:27Then I couldn't move.
- 6:30I was like, it's not Christmas.
- 6:31What are you doing here, bro?
- 6:33No, he texted me and he goes, that was three minutes of hyperventilating induced panic into a moment of clarity.
- 6:44Did you figure out the meaning of life in that?
- 6:47I did.
- 6:50Then I got out and it was gone.
- 6:51And I was like, well,
- 6:53I guess I'm not supposed to know.
- 6:55But I did send him some very encouraging memes that told him basically to suck it up and do it.
- 7:01Yeah.
- 7:03I'm sure they were.
- 7:03They were inspiring.
- 7:05They were very inspiring.
- 7:06So, yeah.
- 7:13Well, speaking of Wadapalooza, it is this week.
- 7:16It is.
- 7:17And Kenneth does pose an interesting question.
- 7:19Okay.
- 7:19Do you view Wadapalooza as closing out the game season or opening it?
- 7:25Closing out.
- 7:31Anyone else?
- 7:32I see it like the prequel.
- 7:35Yes.
- 7:35So maybe it's the open.
- 7:38It's like the soft open of the open.
- 7:41Soft opening of the open.
- 7:45I think the game season's over when the games are over.
- 7:50Okay.
- 7:52I can get down with that.
- 7:53I see more of it like almost like maybe I'm just, my brain is too simple.
- 7:57I think of it like a calendar year.
- 7:58Like, okay, everything that happened last year, that was part of last year's game season.
- 8:02You know, Rogue is like the post-season of it.
- 8:06It's like the all-star game for the 2023 season.
- 8:10And then Dubai and all the other ones that I can't keep track of are sort of just like,
- 8:15closing out the season, maybe.
- 8:16I don't know.
- 8:17Again, my simple brain.
- 8:21As a prequel.
- 8:22Sorry, go ahead.
- 8:23No, no, you finish.
- 8:25I was going to say, I could get behind it being a prequel, but I don't think it's not starting the season.
- 8:33It's like a dress rehearsal.
- 8:37It's like a game.
- 8:38How are we feeling?
- 8:39How are we doing?
- 8:40What do we need to do?
- 8:42What are our oh shit areas?
- 8:45Yeah, I think that is all it is for the athlete.
- 8:49It is just like a practice rehearsal for the season.
- 8:56But I do view like CrossFit is two seasons.
- 8:59You have the main CrossFit season, which runs February to August.
- 9:04And then you have the off season.
- 9:06And that's all the other stuff where you do the, you know, the rogues, the Dubai's, the whatever.
- 9:14So maybe it's like a pro bowl.
- 9:17It's like a combine.
- 9:19Season's over.
- 9:21Just have some fun in Miami.
- 9:24Jump on a team because you're good.
- 9:26Make some money.
- 9:29Just a payday.
- 9:35They do pay well.
- 9:36They pay all the divisions in the elite.
- 9:42That's rare these days.
- 9:47I wonder if we'll see a change with, you know, I think last year there were still some athletes that were going individual and team.
- 9:54And I, I think this year we'll see a change of that and maybe them not double dipping on that one.
- 10:00Right.
- 10:03Um, Kenneth says it's summer slam.
- 10:05It doesn't really matter, but fun to watch.
- 10:08That's actually, if you're a wrestling fan, a pretty good analogy.
- 10:12Absolutely.
- 10:12I love that one.
- 10:15Yeah.
- 10:16Yeah.
- 10:18So I think the biggest surprise for me this year was they, you know, the barbell spin put out the full roster of who's going to be there, teams and individuals.
- 10:28And the teams that broke up from last year is I think the biggest surprise.
- 10:35Like there is no, whatever the Canadian people were.
- 10:38PB&J.
- 10:38PB&J, PB&J.
- 10:42That broke up.
- 10:45So we can go down through the teams really quick.
- 10:47They're actually the weekend.
- 10:49And I can share my screen.
- 10:51And again, this is from the barbell spin.
- 10:53I want to give him credit.
- 10:54He's the one that put this together.
- 10:59So can you guys see that or do I need to make it bigger?
- 11:04Make it bigger, please.
- 11:06There we go.
- 11:11watch so you have the ombre hombres uh with noah chandler and tola they've been kind of making the the rounds this offseason uh team go wide justin madaris jay crouch willie georges i think that's an interesting pairing tres leches i think at one time these guys were named like the old timers and they changed their name last minute velner mayor and bkg very cool
- 11:40Then you have a team with Roman, Saxon, and Jorge Fernandez.
- 11:44That's interesting.
- 11:46Team tier with Ricky Garrard, Dallin Pepper, and Jason Hopper.
- 11:51Los Hombres, Nick Matthews, Spencer Pancheck, and Luke Parker.
- 11:57Krypton with Alex Smith, Austin Spencer, Kristen Horvath, Kristoff Horvath.
- 12:02Yeah.
- 12:05And then it gets like a little bit of the current CrossFit Mayhem Empire, the Empire, Sam Demeester and Angelo DiCicco from the team and then Roy Stunn coming in from Australia.
- 12:19Pretty good third.
- 12:20Is that a female with Mayhem Outlaws?
- 12:25That confused me as well.
- 12:28Where's Mayhem Outlaws?
- 12:30Right under Krypton.
- 12:32Stephanie Cosette
- 12:36is in montreal so it could be a french name i'm assuming maybe it's stephan not stephanie stephan is a french name it's interesting okay so then you and then you have some uh
- 12:59people, people put together teams from other countries, like annual, and I can never say this.
- 13:06And I Fabian Benito and Guillaume Brion.
- 13:14So then this is like the lower, lower level kind of teams here.
- 13:22And there's a lot of them.
- 13:24That the top tier is pretty interesting, I think.
- 13:27Yeah.
- 13:27That's because you said that one when they were going to win.
- 13:32Yeah.
- 13:33Tyler Lloyd's group is going to win.
- 13:36Then we go to the women's elite teams.
- 13:39You have Brookwells, Paige Powers, and Bailey Rayl.
- 13:43Kyra Milligan, Jessie Smith, Devin Kim.
- 13:47Matilda Garness.
- 13:49Matilda Garness.
- 13:50Can't mispronounce that name.
- 13:53Rebecca Vitteson and Annika Greer.
- 13:57Alisa Fuliano, Alison Scuds, and Michelle Basnet.
- 14:00That's fun.
- 14:04We got Emily DeRoy and Grace Walton from Australia.
- 14:08Victoria Campost from the Mayhem Crew.
- 14:13Paige Smenza, Jenna Micheletti, and McKenna Enslin.
- 14:20Uh, you got the friends, Kelsey Keel and Kelly Baker bringing on a meal, uh, who was on Kelsey's team last year, uh, for their team.
- 14:29That'll be a fun team.
- 14:30Yeah.
- 14:35Yeah.
- 14:36No, those are the big names on that.
- 14:39So go back to the top.
- 14:41Isn't Brooke Wells, uh, HWPO athlete.
- 14:45She is.
- 14:46Okay.
- 14:46And Paige and Bailey are still at mayhem, right?
- 14:49Correct.
- 14:50Okay.
- 14:51I mean, obviously.
- 14:53Yeah.
- 14:54That one just surprised me, but they must be gal pals, which I think is really cool.
- 15:00Yeah.
- 15:02How about the Indies?
- 15:02Let's look at Indies.
- 15:04Corey says Guillaume Brion.
- 15:05It sounds like something you'd order for brunch.
- 15:10Chateau Brion.
- 15:12Elite individuals.
- 15:15Okay.
- 15:16So this is alphabetical.
- 15:18So Alex Vigne is going to go for both.
- 15:22A lot of people are.
- 15:23Okay, that surprises me.
- 15:26So we'll go down the men first and then we'll start back at the top for the women.
- 15:32Alex Vigneault, Alex Caron.
- 15:37Austin Hatfield, there's a lot of promise about him coming out of the offseason.
- 15:42He just missed the games last year by one spot, then won the Waterpalooza qualifier, won Crash Crucible.
- 15:51Now we get to see, like, with a really stacked field, how he does.
- 15:56Brent Fikowski, Bronislaw, C.J.
- 15:59Gerald, Colton Mertens.
- 16:03Jack Farlow going both.
- 16:04James Sprigg going both.
- 16:08Gee, we haven't seen Gee in a while.
- 16:09I know.
- 16:14What's going to be interesting is the Gee-Roman thing after Roman smack talk.
- 16:20Harry Lightfoot, Hopalainen, Farlow, Rosema, Sprague.
- 16:27Luke Parker moved on.
- 16:30Oh, Valner, Roman, Ricky.
- 16:32Spencer.
- 16:33What are they doing?
- 16:34Oh, Sam, Cornwallier.
- 16:36That's almost everyone.
- 16:38I know.
- 16:40I guess they're just doing what they do.
- 16:43Like our semifinal guys, Tanner Balazs, Trayvon Benton.
- 16:49No Jeff Adler.
- 16:51No.
- 16:54So then we look at the women.
- 16:56He's got a title to defend.
- 16:57This has been a good game.
- 17:00Look at the women.
- 17:00Abby Domet, Alison Weiss, Ariel Lowen, Ashley Shoemaker, Calista Lang, Caroline Stanley, Danny Spiegel, Danielle Brandon.
- 17:11I think Ellie Turner's out.
- 17:14She is.
- 17:14Okay.
- 17:17The news came out about two hours ago.
- 17:18Okay.
- 17:20Aaliyah Miller.
- 17:21What's wrong with her?
- 17:24We have to get Emily Rethwell on the show.
- 17:28I love her.
- 17:28She's adorable.
- 17:31Emily Rolfe, Emma Carey, Fee Sagafi, Freya Moosberger, Gabby Magawa, Gabriella Spence,
- 17:42Grace Walton.
- 17:43Like there's some, if you follow semifinals and the games, like there's a lot of names here.
- 17:50Lexi Neely, Matilde Garness, Rebecca Fusile.
- 17:55We get to see her back on the floor.
- 17:57Rebecca Vittesen, Roe Scott, Sydney Wells, Stacey Larum.
- 18:01Very cool.
- 18:04So pretty good field.
- 18:06I think both men and women are,
- 18:09I think there's a lot of stories there.
- 18:13Like Guy coming back for the first time in a while.
- 18:16We didn't see him at the games.
- 18:19Can Ariel back up her podium finish with another impressive performance?
- 18:27No.
- 18:32I think some people just decide to do just team.
- 18:34They're going to have a blast.
- 18:39And the way it runs is Thursday and Friday will be individuals.
- 18:43Saturday and Sunday will be team.
- 18:48Okay.
- 18:50I did not know about this beef, Corey.
- 18:56What about Austin McCoy, the sworn enemy of Austin Hatfield?
- 19:00Oh my gosh, now I get it.
- 19:01Oh my gosh, did you just do that?
- 19:04oh it took me a second dang my brain's moving slow today he got me ah i fell right into that trap well i don't know what you're talking about i don't good amy thank you uh okay you don't know the hatfields mccoys
- 19:29I've heard that reference, but I don't.
- 19:33Is it like a UFC thing?
- 19:35No, it's like from the 1800s when the families were feuding and it was one of the most legendary feuds in history.
- 19:45Is there a podcast on that?
- 19:49There was a series about it.
- 19:51Did anybody get murdered during this?
- 19:54Yes.
- 19:56What's the name of the book?
- 19:59Probably the Hatfields and McCoys.
- 20:01Okay.
- 20:03Damn, Corey, making us look stupid.
- 20:06It's fine.
- 20:07Whatever.
- 20:08Not us.
- 20:09I'm not here.
- 20:11Not as a unit.
- 20:12Us ladies over here.
- 20:14Us.
- 20:16So Kenneth is asking, do we have a Heat One app group for Clydesdale Media?
- 20:25I can set one up if you guys want to do it.
- 20:28I usually play along.
- 20:30If you're not familiar with Heat One app, it is Tyler Watkins' new fantasy app.
- 20:40It is Heat One.
- 20:41You download it.
- 20:42It's so much easier than the lawn chair leaderboarding app.
- 20:49And you just pick your fantasy team.
- 20:51And basically it is, I think it works where the event comes up and you pick who's going to win that event.
- 20:58And how close you come to them actually winning, you get that many points.
- 21:04And sometimes you can only use the player twice.
- 21:10And sometimes he opens it up.
- 21:11You can use them as many times as you want.
- 21:16And then they have a, you pick the top 10 at the end of the weekend.
- 21:20I don't know.
- 21:26Sorry, Kenneth.
- 21:29I'm also a history major, which is really embarrassing.
- 21:32Oh, my gosh.
- 21:33That makes it worse.
- 21:34Just stop talking about it.
- 21:38People, that's why these are the best analysts in the business.
- 21:41Right?
- 21:42It's just my priorities are different.
- 21:44That's exactly it.
- 21:45If it was important, we would be, you know, it was important to us.
- 21:49We would be all over it.
- 21:51Who's this Dave Castro you speak of?
- 21:55Does he know anything about CrossFit?
- 21:58Is he in WrestleMania?
- 21:59Still waiting for my check.
- 22:03So the Hatfields and McCoys are like the Eric Roses and the Greg Glassmans.
- 22:13Your check is with your tear stuff.
- 22:17With your tear clothing.
- 22:18And what about your jeans?
- 22:19Did you ever get those taken care of?
- 22:21Nope.
- 22:22Never got my jeans.
- 22:24Darn it.
- 22:27Oh, shit.
- 22:29That's funny.
- 22:30So, who worked out today?
- 22:33Let's finish up.
- 22:34Any other final thoughts on what you see here?
- 22:38We should do a Heat 1 app.
- 22:39Let's do a Heat 1 app.
- 22:40I want to do that.
- 22:41I already got the app.
- 22:45The best fantasy CrossFit you can do.
- 22:49Oh, you want to hear something funny?
- 22:50At the...
- 22:53at the gym there was a fantasy football, you know, draft and thing.
- 22:58And guess who ended up in the final game together?
- 23:03Charlie and Scott.
- 23:04Amy and Charlie.
- 23:04Nope.
- 23:05I wasn't in it.
- 23:06Scott and Nate Radowski.
- 23:09Oh, fun.
- 23:10Who won?
- 23:12Scott did.
- 23:15But what I told them was, according to my Venmo, I'm the winner because I got the money transferred into my account.
- 23:22So really, it was me.
- 23:24Well, there you go.
- 23:25Congratulations.
- 23:26Thanks.
- 23:30Corey thinks that the name of the group on Heat One should be the Clydesdale Media Hatfield McCoys.
- 23:36Sure.
- 23:39Sure.
- 23:40Let's do it.
- 23:42All right.
- 23:43So now you can hit workouts.
- 23:44So I know Charlie worked out.
- 23:47Anybody else work out today or planning to?
- 23:51This has now become my rest day because of this show.
- 23:54Okay.
- 23:57Are you going to cold pinch today, Charlie?
- 24:00That's the plan.
- 24:01Okay.
- 24:02Again, I can just roll outside in the grass.
- 24:06Five minutes.
- 24:09Your neighbors would have to pick.
- 24:11That man and his skivvies out there.
- 24:19Shoot.
- 24:20Man, when we were young, we'd go out and do stuff in sled ride or mud slide or whatever.
- 24:25Now, like, man, I don't even want to get the mail.
- 24:28That's because you're a grumpy old man now.
- 24:31You know, what really grinds my gears is all the people that leave their shopping carts out and can't even move them five feet to the cart returns.
- 24:40when you go into the grocery store parking lot, when it's raining, it's like, if you were able to get wet from the car to the front door of the grocery store, you can take another three raindrops and put your card away.
- 24:52I, I agree.
- 24:53So disappointing.
- 24:58You should be on the podcast with the two ladies that it's called.
- 25:02I've had it.
- 25:04You know what I've had it with this week.
- 25:06Yeah.
- 25:09Oh, yep.
- 25:09I could, I could.
- 25:10Plenty of content for that.
- 25:12So what was your workout today, Amy?
- 25:17An EMOM, five clean and jerks every minute for 10 minutes.
- 25:23That's a lot.
- 25:23That's 50 reps.
- 25:26So we're starting light because I think it's going to be progressive.
- 25:30And then an EMOM on the rower.
- 25:35175 meters for females, 200 for males, 10 rounds, which basically is like 10 minutes of rowing because there's not much.
- 25:48Then 80 B-ups.
- 25:52Every time you break, five burpees.
- 25:57What constitutes a break?
- 25:59right i mean if the coach can't see you is it really a break yeah i'm cheating on that one for sure yeah yeah yeah anyways other than sound fun at all yeah well we got done we did it just three two one go just just like the cold punch three two one don't think about it get in
- 26:27Excuse me.
- 26:28That doesn't really work that way.
- 26:30Yep, now it's official.
- 26:36Well, we have a podcast coming up at 1 o'clock from our sister podcast, the Prodigies Podcast, where they're going to be announcing the dates, the location of the Teen CrossFit Games at 1 o'clock.
- 26:51So make sure you catch that right after we're done here.
- 26:55Hop over there, and you can find out when and where the teens are going to compete for the CrossFit Games.
- 27:04Very cool.
- 27:04Cool.
- 27:08And Steph does a great job with that podcast.
- 27:14But you'll have the event director, Brock Yost on.
- 27:17I'm talking about that today.
- 27:19Didn't want to forget that.
- 27:26And Wheelwad announced theirs this weekend.
- 27:31They're going to be in San Antonio this year for the games.
- 27:35They've traditionally been in North Carolina.
- 27:36I know that probably bums Kenneth out because they were pretty close to where he lived.
- 27:41And now they are heading over to San Antonio for the games.
- 27:49And I think that is late September.
- 27:51September.
- 27:57So, so we have two of the three that will be announced after today.
- 28:02And, and we're still waiting on masters.
- 28:15And I know that that is a big thorn in the side of the masters I've been talking to lately because they, they can't make any plans without knowing kind of dates and times and locations.
- 28:30Sure.
- 28:31Yeah.
- 28:32Did they ever, did they ever figure out the money problem with that competition?
- 28:37Didn't they come out with some announcement that they weren't paying people or.
- 28:41They did come out with an announcement that they probably weren't paying.
- 28:45They had to finish some bills.
- 28:48Probably means it's not happening.
- 28:52Right.
- 28:52Yeah.
- 28:54My beef with that and the whole, and I did a riff on it, so I'm not going to go into it in detail, but it's not just them.
- 29:00It is MFC didn't pay this year for the first time ever and didn't announce it.
- 29:07So, but when you pay for years and years and then all of a sudden stop, you should say something.
- 29:13Yeah.
- 29:14Same with legends.
- 29:15They've paid for five years.
- 29:17Now all of a sudden they stop and they don't say anything about it.
- 29:22And then Guadalupalooza, I was talking to Rudy, and their coaches aren't allowed in the warm-up area like the elite athletes are allowed.
- 29:35They are categorized as community, not elite.
- 29:40These Masters athletes that are competing at Guadalupalooza are not community athletes.
- 29:46Yeah.
- 29:49So I think something needs to change dramatically with the way things are going to happen with masters going forward.
- 30:02Lynette, it was the same last year, Corey, just so you know.
- 30:06And I know Lynette is fiery and she can get things done.
- 30:11She has not been able to do that.
- 30:13She actually got an elite athletes coaches pass last year because her coach didn't come.
- 30:20So she was able to go back and then she ended up coaching like eight athletes.
- 30:26or helping them warm up or do you know all those things back there yeah but i get it from a community standpoint like you don't want 10 000 people back there bugging the athletes but these elite masters athletes are there for a job yeah
- 30:53So Andrew, I got to respond to this.
- 30:56If Masters athletes are looking to make bank from competitions, they will be sorely mistaken.
- 31:00No event other than CrossFit is paying very much to Masters athletes who win.
- 31:06It's not about the payout.
- 31:07It's about the expectation.
- 31:10If they would have announced before the event that they weren't going to be paying this year, people may have made other decisions and not paid to travel from Scotland to Tempe or to fly from Michigan to Tempe.
- 31:25They were under a false pretense that there was a chance at some money and then that could offset their travel cost.
- 31:34Now, because you didn't make that announcement, they're left holding a debt of travel.
- 31:46Right.
- 31:46And you said it.
- 31:46If they knew, some of those people wouldn't come.
- 31:49And then it's bad for their bottom line.
- 31:52So if they knew about it, that's a really greedy move.
- 31:57I'm not upset that they're not being paid.
- 32:02I'm upset that you set an expectation and then they didn't get to know the facts before they signed up for your competition.
- 32:11All right.
- 32:17Well, I hope you guys stay warmish, except for you guys.
- 32:21You're in the cold plunge.
- 32:28Three whole minutes.
- 32:29Okay, three whole minutes.
- 32:32All right.
- 32:34Well, I got it.
- 32:38Again, Andrew, I'm not talking about the money.
- 32:40I'm talking about the expectation.
- 32:43That's it.
- 32:45That's all.
- 32:49So anyway, with that, make sure you tune in to the prodigies podcast at one o'clock so you can find out when the team games are.
- 32:57We have Jennifer Teeter this afternoon at 430.
- 33:02One of the.
- 33:08Uh, she's one of the champions of legends and, uh, the weight loss show today, I think.
- 33:14So look for that.
- 33:16And I, we will catch you all next time on media round table.
