- 0:00Speaker 1: Scrubbing In with Beca Tilly and Tanya rad and iHeartRadio
- 0:04Speaker 1: and two time People's Choice Award winning podcast.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Hello everybody, we are scrubbing in.
- 0:15Speaker 1: I don't know if you heard while you were gone,
- 0:17Speaker 1: but Robbie made another jingle. Oh it's a scrubbing in
- 0:21Speaker 1: life with my scrubbing and wife.
- 0:23Speaker 3: Wow, it's beautiful.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Yeah you like it?
- 0:26Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 0:27Speaker 2: Do you? So?
- 0:28Speaker 3: You say that?
- 0:29Speaker 1: I would say it to you.
- 0:31Speaker 2: So you say hello everybody, and I say we are
- 0:33Speaker 2: scrubbing in and you say.
- 0:36Speaker 1: It's that scrubbing in life with my scrubbing in wife.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Wow?
- 0:39Speaker 1: Do you like it?
- 0:41Speaker 3: Sure? I'm up for anything that you're excited about.
- 0:44Speaker 1: I'm excited about it.
- 0:46Speaker 3: Your joy is my joy.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Oh, thank you so much.
- 0:49Speaker 2: I do appreciate Robbie filling in while Bolsta was gone.
- 0:54Speaker 2: He's such a natural.
- 0:56Speaker 3: He really is. Yeah, he's very good.
- 0:58Speaker 2: It's really because Yeah, like I think that what we
- 1:02Speaker 2: do in our conversation, like it's very conversational. We've been
- 1:05Speaker 2: doing this for so long, like you're in radio, I've
- 1:09Speaker 2: been trudge along doing this.
- 1:12Speaker 3: With so much love and joy about them. But I'm
- 1:16Speaker 3: just I'm saying, like.
- 1:17Speaker 2: We're very familiar with this. This every the vibe of it, right,
- 1:22Speaker 2: And I think we assume that people who are in
- 1:25Speaker 2: this were like just talk, be normal. But when you
- 1:27Speaker 2: put a microphone in someone's face, it can either be
- 1:31Speaker 2: very intimidating or you thrive at it.
- 1:33Speaker 3: And I think Robbie thrives.
- 1:35Speaker 1: I appreciate you saying that because it's so funny. I
- 1:37Speaker 1: always I felt like this sense of like protectiveness in
- 1:40Speaker 1: a weird way because I'm like, I want him to
- 1:41Speaker 1: do well. I want you know what I mean like,
- 1:43Speaker 1: and I do think like he does know there's a microphone.
- 1:47Speaker 1: You know, He's not like one hundred percent. I feel
- 1:49Speaker 1: like himself natural because like there's this, but I'd say
- 1:53Speaker 1: he's like ninety five percent there. Yeah, And then like
- 1:56Speaker 1: you talk, and then I'm like is it entertaining to people?
- 1:59Speaker 2: You know?
- 1:59Speaker 1: Because like I spent my whole life with him, so
- 2:01Speaker 1: I'm like, this is just like a day, yeah, my husband.
- 2:05Speaker 1: But then I got home and I was like, I
- 2:06Speaker 1: hope people like it.
- 2:07Speaker 3: I feel like people loved it.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Yeah, y I forgot nice, nice messages, so that was nice.
- 2:12Speaker 3: I feel like he does a great job.
- 2:14Speaker 2: I'm so the winning the Pooh thing is crazy because
- 2:17Speaker 2: I was prompted.
- 2:19Speaker 1: You told me it was really Mark's fault.
- 2:22Speaker 2: You you told everyone, So technically the point goes back,
- 2:25Speaker 2: the blame goes back to you.
- 2:27Speaker 1: But I can tell you guys stuff and it doesn't
- 2:28Speaker 1: have to be on the podcast, like yeah, but it
- 2:33Speaker 1: was telling Marnie telling Mark is the issue. I've learned
- 2:36Speaker 1: that in my years, if you tell.
- 2:38Speaker 3: Mark something that's of entertainment, yeah, he will bring it up. Yeah.
- 2:42Speaker 2: I was just its like, I just I got the blame.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Robbie said, I broke his heart, and I'm like, hold on,
- 2:50Speaker 1: you know what's so funny. Mark's wife, Amy and Robbie
- 2:53Speaker 1: were like going back and forth in the Facebook group
- 2:55Speaker 1: about who to blame, and she was like, go back
- 2:57Speaker 1: to this podcast. At this time, it was oh no,
- 3:01Speaker 1: it was her.
- 3:01Speaker 3: I saw that conversation. Wow, we should get her on.
- 3:09Speaker 3: I need the skinny on Mark. We gets away with
- 3:12Speaker 3: a lot.
- 3:13Speaker 2: We don't know anything that we just have his take
- 3:16Speaker 2: on everything.
- 3:17Speaker 3: We need to get AMers in here.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Do we totally do? Yeah?
- 3:24Speaker 3: So thanks Robbie for holding the fort down.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Thanks.
- 3:27Speaker 3: I'm happy for you to take over whenever whenever I'm
- 3:30Speaker 3: out And about which.
- 3:32Speaker 1: I hope is not a lot, which we hope is
- 3:35Speaker 1: not off. I don't like doing the podcast without you.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Even with Robbie. I love doing it with him, like
- 3:41Speaker 1: I do, I really do, like I love doing it
- 3:43Speaker 1: with him, and I'm so grateful. But like, to me,
- 3:46Speaker 1: it's I don't know, like this is something that I
- 3:48Speaker 1: enjoy doing with you.
- 3:49Speaker 3: Well, yeah, I mean it's our podcast.
- 3:51Speaker 2: That would be it would be a little sad if
- 3:54Speaker 2: you felt the same level of comfort enjoy doing it
- 3:57Speaker 2: with anyone else.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Yeah, could you imagine I was like, yeah, take more
- 4:00Speaker 1: vacation problem.
- 4:03Speaker 2: I think it msould be less affected by that than
- 4:05Speaker 2: you would if I did that.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Oh I'd be I'd be spiraling.
- 4:11Speaker 3: But yeah, I'm back.
- 4:13Speaker 2: I got back yesterday and so I'm on Japan's eighteen
- 4:17Speaker 2: hours ahead.
- 4:18Speaker 3: It's in the future.
- 4:19Speaker 1: So do you like beat the jet lag because it's
- 4:21Speaker 1: so many hours.
- 4:23Speaker 2: You would think, you know, because it's right there of
- 4:25Speaker 2: twenty four, but the six hours that my friend does.
- 4:29Speaker 3: Certainly make a difference. Yeah, So it's I.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Don't know late where I'm more. My time mentally is
- 4:38Speaker 2: a middle of the night for me.
- 4:39Speaker 4: But you're here three fifteen am.
- 4:42Speaker 3: That's I kind of feel that a little bit. Yeah,
- 4:44Speaker 3: I feel a little.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Three fifteen ish, got bright lights in my face right now,
- 4:49Speaker 2: studio lighting.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Yeah, A little something happened over the weekend. Well actually
- 4:55Speaker 1: not over the weekend, you know, like we live our
- 4:57Speaker 1: lives ago and this little tiny thing, yeah happened.
- 5:03Speaker 2: I made. I had some plans going into this trip,
- 5:07Speaker 2: and I kept it pretty low key.
- 5:11Speaker 1: Beyond like I am shook at how well you lie
- 5:16Speaker 1: or like keep things to yourself. Yeah, like it's kind
- 5:19Speaker 1: of scary.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Okay, So what happened was I've told you that I
- 5:25Speaker 2: wasn't gonna tell anyone until I did it.
- 5:29Speaker 1: I was, when I say, I was like completely shocked,
- 5:33Speaker 1: Like I couldn't have been more shocked, because I also
- 5:36Speaker 1: thought that you would tell me when you got the ring,
- 5:39Speaker 1: because you were you were like asking me how to
- 5:41Speaker 1: like how do I get her to try things on?
- 5:44Speaker 1: So I was like in it with you, like I
- 5:45Speaker 1: thought I was in it with you.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Yeah. I did do a good job at like keeping
- 5:49Speaker 2: you at least at bay with questions.
- 5:52Speaker 3: You know, though, we are gonna I want to.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Talk about the whole thing because there's a lot to
- 5:57Speaker 2: talk about because it was it was a big thing.
- 6:00Speaker 1: And it was a mastermind, Like this was Taylor Swift level.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Yeah, I learned. I learned from the best.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Yeah, but what did you?
- 6:08Speaker 3: I feel like, what were you doing? We're going to
- 6:10Speaker 3: get to that, so.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Don't worry, but what it will get there. I feel
- 6:13Speaker 1: like you.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Did a lot while I was gone. I feel like
- 6:16Speaker 2: a lot over the weekend.
- 6:17Speaker 1: You were at Oh my god.
- 6:18Speaker 3: You are at a party of Selena gummn At.
- 6:22Speaker 1: First of all, I did so much this weekend, Like
- 6:25Speaker 1: I went to Disneyland. I like I had one of
- 6:29Speaker 1: our kids winter recitals. I had two Honka parties in
- 6:34Speaker 1: a day. Your girl is.
- 6:36Speaker 3: Tired, Yeah that makes sense.
- 6:39Speaker 1: She's tired. Yeah, but you know what, she's alive and thriving.
- 6:42Speaker 2: Wow.
- 6:43Speaker 3: Yeah, alive and thriving.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:46Speaker 3: I still have been decorated for Christmas.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Well, I hate to break it to you, but like, well.
- 6:51Speaker 3: I know that I left on the second, and.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Like we had the week before, but we did.
- 6:58Speaker 3: Thanksgiving twice that weekend.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Like I that was kind of a crazy weekend for
- 7:02Speaker 2: us because we had to postpone Thanksgiving and then and
- 7:05Speaker 2: then I didn't have my I was trying to decide
- 7:07Speaker 2: if we wanted to do a real tree or.
- 7:09Speaker 3: Fake tree, so I ordered our fake tree. So we
- 7:11Speaker 3: have a fake tree.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Up, but it has the lights.
- 7:15Speaker 3: Okay, ornaments today.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Okay, Wow, I just decided because we got a fake
- 7:20Speaker 2: tree that I'm going to decorate today or tomorrow, whatever
- 7:24Speaker 2: I have energy for, and then we'll just leave it
- 7:26Speaker 2: up as long as we want.
- 7:27Speaker 3: Yeah, because I don't have to rush to take it
- 7:29Speaker 3: down because it's not dying. Ah.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Yes, Well, you see, there gets to be a point
- 7:34Speaker 1: in like January where like I think it hits a
- 7:37Speaker 1: like if you have the tree up at a certain
- 7:39Speaker 1: point in January, Yeah, it starts to feel weird. February
- 7:46Speaker 1: one year, I left it up like it's like January
- 7:48Speaker 1: twenty something, and I was like, it's starting.
- 7:49Speaker 3: Because you start yours like Halloween.
- 7:53Speaker 1: I like to have it in there. Yeah, I like
- 7:55Speaker 1: to have it.
- 7:55Speaker 2: I understand by January you're probably ready to clear the
- 7:59Speaker 2: clear it out. Yeah, so I'm going to do that today.
- 8:02Speaker 2: But how was Disneyland during these times?
- 8:06Speaker 1: Okay, so it was crowded, but I want to say
- 8:10Speaker 1: it wasn't like so bad. We didn't wait more than
- 8:12Speaker 1: forty five minutes wow, per ride, which I know sounds
- 8:16Speaker 1: like a long time, but like once you're in it,
- 8:18Speaker 1: it's really not that bad, Okay.
- 8:21Speaker 2: And I like the line, Yeah, I was gonna that
- 8:24Speaker 2: was so Tanya.
- 8:27Speaker 1: I knew it was gonna be a hot take. But like,
- 8:30Speaker 1: well were the responses somebody Like a couple of people
- 8:34Speaker 1: agreed with me, and then a couple of people were like,
- 8:35Speaker 1: are you crying? Okay, but I hear. I feel like
- 8:45Speaker 1: as our kids are getting older, and like we have
- 8:49Speaker 1: a teenager who's very into his phone. He left his
- 8:52Speaker 1: phone in the car because he was just not because
- 8:54Speaker 1: he didn't want it, but because he was like I
- 8:56Speaker 1: just want to worry about it on the rides and
- 8:57Speaker 1: don't want to like you know, like they wear these
- 8:59Speaker 1: baggy pants, you know, you don't want anything falling out. Yeah,
- 9:02Speaker 1: And so Robbie's like, just leave it in the cards safer,
- 9:04Speaker 1: it's better, and we're like okay, yeah. And so it's
- 9:05Speaker 1: like you have this, you have these forty five minutes
- 9:08Speaker 1: of just talking and bonding and I know it sounds
- 9:13Speaker 1: so silly, but like you don't get that so much.
- 9:16Speaker 1: You know, like when we're all at home, we're kind
- 9:18Speaker 1: of doing our own things, and yeah, we have like
- 9:20Speaker 1: our meals together and stuff, But I don't know. There
- 9:23Speaker 1: was something about all just like being there, being present,
- 9:27Speaker 1: super present, that was really special.
- 9:30Speaker 3: I think that makes sense though.
- 9:32Speaker 2: I think it's I think it's beautiful that you recognized
- 9:36Speaker 2: that moment and that the gift of like being present.
- 9:40Speaker 1: I didn't realize it until we got home, Like I
- 9:42Speaker 1: was like, wow, Like that was a lot of quality time,
- 9:46Speaker 1: Like we had a full day of quality time with them,
- 9:48Speaker 1: and it was like really nice.
- 9:50Speaker 2: He just writes in his journal, I got to have
- 9:52Speaker 2: so much quality time talking with Tanya in line today.
- 9:57Speaker 3: It was the best. Yeah, exactly, Yeah, yeah, that's really fun.
- 10:02Speaker 3: I was just talking.
- 10:03Speaker 2: I was just seeing this thing about how this guy
- 10:06Speaker 2: his mom was on a plane and she was like,
- 10:08Speaker 2: this person was not on their phone the whole time
- 10:11Speaker 2: on the plane, and I just thought that was the
- 10:13Speaker 2: weirdest thing. And he goes, isn't it weird that that
- 10:17Speaker 2: is perceived as weird, like someone not being on their
- 10:19Speaker 2: phone as opposed to someone being present and like striking
- 10:23Speaker 2: up a conversation with the next person. And she was like, well,
- 10:26Speaker 2: if you're not looking at your phone, people might try
- 10:28Speaker 2: to start a conversation with you, which is like, which
- 10:31Speaker 2: is like the worst case scenario.
- 10:35Speaker 4: I went to a restaurant with Allison once in my
- 10:37Speaker 4: phone was dead, and she went up and went to
- 10:38Speaker 4: the bathroom. She wasn't gone very long, but I was
- 10:40Speaker 4: just like kind of like sitting around, just like looking around,
- 10:43Speaker 4: and I was like, I look crazy, and I'm like,
- 10:45Speaker 4: this is how every day yea many many years, you know,
- 10:49Speaker 4: Like I just like read the back of the ketchup bottles,
- 10:51Speaker 4: I know, I think about.
- 10:52Speaker 1: So we're watching Stranger Things right now, and like it's
- 10:54Speaker 1: in the eighties, and I'm like, wow, I could not
- 10:57Speaker 1: imagine like they had to go to a payphone to
- 10:59Speaker 1: call nine to one one. I mean, we did live
- 11:04Speaker 1: in those times, but I was so young, Like I
- 11:06Speaker 1: wouldn't even have a phone even at that age if
- 11:09Speaker 1: they existed, you know what I mean.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, but for I think I was sixteen
- 11:14Speaker 2: when I got a phone, so I had sixteen years
- 11:16Speaker 2: of pure childhood childhood. And also even when I had
- 11:20Speaker 2: a phone, I had to be aware of my minutes
- 11:22Speaker 2: and it wasn't like I was scrolling.
- 11:24Speaker 3: I just would.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Right right, right right, So it.
- 11:27Speaker 2: Is crazy I do the same thing if I'm alone
- 11:29Speaker 2: I'm like, gosh, do I look so weird?
- 11:34Speaker 1: You know it's called raw dogging? Yeah, okay, are we
- 11:36Speaker 1: allowed to say that on the podcast?
- 11:38Speaker 3: We've said a lot worse.
- 11:39Speaker 1: I said raw dogging before. Yeah, okay, but this is
- 11:42Speaker 1: like an innocent one.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Well yeah, I think normally when we're talking about it,
- 11:46Speaker 2: we're not using it and the way it really is
- 11:49Speaker 2: supposed to be us. We always use that as a version.
- 11:53Speaker 2: We are a PG podcast. But yeah, So I went
- 11:59Speaker 2: to Japan because I wanted to propose to Haley, and
- 12:05Speaker 2: I want to tell you all about it when we
- 12:08Speaker 2: come back.
- 12:31Speaker 1: We're back.
- 12:31Speaker 3: We are love. She always tries to need me, Tom.
- 12:34Speaker 2: We're back.
- 12:36Speaker 1: What is who's voice? Listen, We're back. We're back. Don't worry,
- 12:42Speaker 1: We're back.
- 12:44Speaker 2: So I a lot of people had They were like, wait,
- 12:48Speaker 2: I thought you were already engaged.
- 12:50Speaker 3: We are engaged. We got engaged in July and Mayorca, Spain.
- 12:54Speaker 2: But the plan was always that I was also going
- 12:57Speaker 2: to I actually thought I was going to propose to Haley.
- 12:59Speaker 3: First. She surprised me. So I always had the plan.
- 13:04Speaker 1: That I wis she really Yeah, surprise shocked us.
- 13:10Speaker 3: All she did. She shocked us all.
- 13:12Speaker 2: So I was thinking, how now that she knows it's coming,
- 13:19Speaker 2: how am I going to plan something where I'm able
- 13:21Speaker 2: to surprise her?
- 13:22Speaker 3: Because you know I love a surprise. Yeah, I love
- 13:25Speaker 3: a surprise.
- 13:26Speaker 2: So at Tanya's birthday party back in July, I was
- 13:30Speaker 2: talking to Robbie's cousin Sabrina, and.
- 13:33Speaker 3: I was telling she was like, so, what is the plan?
- 13:36Speaker 2: Or talked about wedding planning, and I was like, well,
- 13:38Speaker 2: I want to propose to her too, but I have
- 13:40Speaker 2: to figure it out because her dream place is to
- 13:42Speaker 2: get engaged in Japan. But if I just book a
- 13:45Speaker 2: trip to Japan, She's going to know it's coming. So
- 13:48Speaker 2: she kind of planted this idea of maybe I have
- 13:51Speaker 2: a work trip or something, or she has a work
- 13:54Speaker 2: trip and then like I show up. She kind of
- 13:56Speaker 2: just planted the seed of coming up with an idea.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Uh huh.
- 14:01Speaker 3: So I just been Sabrina, you gotta give credit where
- 14:04Speaker 3: credit is she?
- 14:05Speaker 1: Actually I saw her at the Hanaka party around this
- 14:07Speaker 1: weekend and she was like, I feel like I maybe
- 14:09Speaker 1: gave her this idea. Actually did I know?
- 14:12Speaker 2: I know? And so I had been thinking, how am
- 14:18Speaker 2: I going to get Hayley to Japan without me there,
- 14:22Speaker 2: but have me there when she arrives.
- 14:25Speaker 1: How would one do that? Like, how does one?
- 14:27Speaker 3: Dude?
- 14:28Speaker 1: I wouldn't even know. I'd be like, this is too hard,
- 14:31Speaker 1: I'm out quit.
- 14:33Speaker 3: I'm just doing it.
- 14:34Speaker 1: I'm just gonna do it right here in.
- 14:36Speaker 3: So we I have a friend or she's a friend. Now.
- 14:41Speaker 2: At first she was an acquaintance and her name is
- 14:43Speaker 2: Sinnem and she owns a company called s S Gold.
- 14:46Speaker 3: Tanya actually planned your trip to Greece.
- 14:49Speaker 1: With her, Yeah, which she did our trip to Grease
- 14:50Speaker 1: and it was amazing.
- 14:51Speaker 2: And I met her after that just by coincidence of
- 14:54Speaker 2: being We both go see Tawny for our hair. So
- 14:58Speaker 2: I just happened to be there and she was like,
- 14:59Speaker 2: oh wait, TAWNI was like, do you know Snem? Tania
- 15:02Speaker 2: just worked with her, and so we started talking. Sonyays
- 15:04Speaker 2: I had her email, but we hadn't worked together or anything.
- 15:08Speaker 2: So in September, I was like, I just had this
- 15:11Speaker 2: idea and I'm like, I'm going to reach out to
- 15:13Speaker 2: Sinem and see if this would be something she'd want
- 15:16Speaker 2: to help me with planning this whole proposal trip. So
- 15:20Speaker 2: I email her and I was like I have this
- 15:22Speaker 2: crazy idea. Do you have any time for a phone call?
- 15:24Speaker 2: So I called her. She was like, I'm so in
- 15:28Speaker 2: let's go. So the plan was that she was.
- 15:32Speaker 1: So crazy, it's so crazy.
- 15:36Speaker 2: So the plan was that she was going to send
- 15:38Speaker 2: an email to Hailey's management team and basically present an
- 15:43Speaker 2: opportunity to go to Japan and go to the Four
- 15:47Speaker 2: Seasons Kyoto, which is a very special place for us.
- 15:49Speaker 2: We went in twenty nineteen and there was a moment
- 15:52Speaker 2: while we were at the hotel that Hailey told me
- 15:54Speaker 2: she looked over at me and she had this moment
- 15:56Speaker 2: where she was like, I'm going to marry her one day.
- 15:58Speaker 3: So I always saw it. I have to do it.
- 16:01Speaker 3: I have to get us to Four Seasons in Kyoto.
- 16:04Speaker 2: So Sinem sends an email to Haley's management team and
- 16:09Speaker 2: it's basically like, we want to offer a trip with
- 16:11Speaker 2: a collaboration between s S Gold, which is Sinem's travel agency,
- 16:15Speaker 2: and then four Seasons Kyoto and you'll get a five
- 16:19Speaker 2: nights stay and.
- 16:21Speaker 3: You basically have to do posts.
- 16:23Speaker 2: It's basically what an influencer trip looks like, like the
- 16:25Speaker 2: same amount of posts. It wasn't anything suspicious honestly easiest
- 16:30Speaker 2: deal ever. So I was like, she's gonna say yes, absolutely.
- 16:35Speaker 2: So my plan of why I wasn't able to go
- 16:38Speaker 2: was that I had a work trip.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Oh, she already proposed the dates, like she was gonna say,
- 16:42Speaker 1: it has to be like these dates.
- 16:43Speaker 2: So she was going to send the dates. And then
- 16:45Speaker 2: I knew that Haley was going to ask me to
- 16:47Speaker 2: come as a plus one.
- 16:48Speaker 1: That's why I was like, how did she not get
- 16:49Speaker 1: you to be the plus one?
- 16:50Speaker 2: So she was gonna ask me to be a plus
- 16:52Speaker 2: one and I was, unfortunately gonna have a work trip
- 16:55Speaker 2: on those dates, and so I was So it went.
- 16:58Speaker 3: Exactly as I thought.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Hayley goes, oh my gosh, I just got a deal
- 17:03Speaker 2: with to go to the Four.
- 17:04Speaker 3: Seasons Kyoto with this travel agency. Like this feels fake.
- 17:07Speaker 3: What did you? She goes, did you do this?
- 17:10Speaker 2: And I'm like, wait, First of all, I like froze
- 17:13Speaker 2: because that was her first question, and I was like,
- 17:15Speaker 2: how would I do that? Right? And so then her
- 17:18Speaker 2: her manager sends her the official email, which so Nim
- 17:23Speaker 2: and I drafted on chat GPT and she's like, oh
- 17:27Speaker 2: my gosh, this is a real thing, and she was like,
- 17:29Speaker 2: I get a plus one, like we're going to the
- 17:32Speaker 2: four season's Kyoto and I was like, this is crazy.
- 17:35Speaker 3: What of the dates?
- 17:36Speaker 2: So she tells me the dates and I go, that's
- 17:38Speaker 2: my So. I did a Starbucks Ambassador program this year.
- 17:42Speaker 2: I was an ambassador for them and it ended in
- 17:44Speaker 2: like September.
- 17:46Speaker 3: But she didn't know. Now she didn't know.
- 17:48Speaker 4: I still have diplomatic duties.
- 17:50Speaker 2: I had to go to London to headquarters.
- 17:57Speaker 1: Quite the trip for Starbucks.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Now in a second Starbucks would send me to London,
- 18:04Speaker 2: but I was like, it's the final trip and all
- 18:06Speaker 2: the ambassadors are going together and we're going to I
- 18:09Speaker 2: just hoped that they had a big store there that
- 18:12Speaker 2: if she needed to look it up, it was there.
- 18:15Speaker 2: So I go, I can't do those dates. Can you
- 18:17Speaker 2: ask them if they can move those dates?
- 18:19Speaker 1: It's great?
- 18:20Speaker 2: Great, So she's like, okay, I'll ask and they were like, unfortunately,
- 18:23Speaker 2: these are the dates locked in and basically like, let
- 18:27Speaker 2: us know if you if you're not able to do it,
- 18:29Speaker 2: just so we can we need to fill the slot.
- 18:32Speaker 3: She's like, I'm going.
- 18:33Speaker 2: I'm like you need to go, whether you just go
- 18:35Speaker 2: with yourself or you invite a plus one I'll meet
- 18:38Speaker 2: you after London.
- 18:39Speaker 3: So that was the plan.
- 18:41Speaker 2: She invited Marla, her best friend, and I was going
- 18:46Speaker 2: to London two days before.
- 18:48Speaker 3: So we're going back and forth.
- 18:51Speaker 2: She's like negotiating with the Sinnam like trying to get
- 18:54Speaker 2: like can we.
- 18:55Speaker 3: Get an extra night at the Moon?
- 18:57Speaker 2: No? And I'm basically telling Sinem like just say yes,
- 19:02Speaker 2: but make it in a way that's like believable, yeah,
- 19:05Speaker 2: like could we add a post or an extra story whatever.
- 19:09Speaker 2: Then she she wanted to see if there was a
- 19:11Speaker 2: car to go to this like fishing village in Japan,
- 19:15Speaker 2: and so Snem calls.
- 19:16Speaker 3: I'm like just saying yes.
- 19:19Speaker 2: Like sponsoring a full trip, and Hailey's like, yeah, I
- 19:23Speaker 2: feel like and then she was like yeah, there's gonna
- 19:26Speaker 2: be a tea ceremony, a kimono experience, and Snem's like,
- 19:30Speaker 2: I'm just making all this stuff up so that she
- 19:31Speaker 2: feels like it's like all the things are slotted, and
- 19:34Speaker 2: I'm like that's fine, do whatever.
- 19:37Speaker 3: So one night.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Haley goes, how do you how do I know that?
- 19:43Speaker 2: She kept asking, like she kept saying, my dream place
- 19:46Speaker 2: is to get proposed to in Japan. She's like, are
- 19:48Speaker 2: you going to propose and I go, no, like I
- 19:51Speaker 2: really think I want to just do it on my own,
- 19:54Speaker 2: like I want to plan.
- 19:55Speaker 3: I don't want to do it on like a free
- 19:56Speaker 3: trip that you got. I want to play. Yeah, I
- 19:58Speaker 3: want to do my.
- 19:59Speaker 2: Own thing and just do it how I want. And
- 20:03Speaker 2: I was like, would you be disappointed if it's not
- 20:04Speaker 2: in Japan?
- 20:06Speaker 3: She was like, I don't think so.
- 20:10Speaker 2: And I was like, okay, but I mean, I'll obviously
- 20:13Speaker 2: make it amazing. It's gonna be great, but you know,
- 20:16Speaker 2: I just I need to know before we start doing
- 20:19Speaker 2: this if you're gonna be bummed, because I need to
- 20:21Speaker 2: figure it out. And she's like, no, Like I understand,
- 20:23Speaker 2: you want to do it the way you want to
- 20:25Speaker 2: do it. So for two months of having to keep
- 20:29Speaker 2: up this. By the way, I did not tell a
- 20:32Speaker 2: single person.
- 20:50Speaker 1: By the way, I don't know if I told it
- 20:52Speaker 1: on the story on the podcast about my scam, My
- 20:54Speaker 1: cool Kuya scam. I think I did. I think I
- 20:58Speaker 1: told it on the podcast. Now did Hey? This short
- 21:02Speaker 1: version I got majorly scammed through email with this like
- 21:05Speaker 1: fake Kolkaya representative. I'm on the phone with Becca and
- 21:09Speaker 1: Haley's the background listening to the whole story, and Haley's like,
- 21:13Speaker 1: I just got invited on this trip to Japan, Like
- 21:17Speaker 1: is my whole thing a scam? I was like, yeah,
- 21:19Speaker 1: that's a freaking scam.
- 21:20Speaker 3: You should check in.
- 21:21Speaker 1: On that, like that's for sure. Shut up, shut up.
- 21:26Speaker 1: I had no idea, Like, I literally had no idea.
- 21:29Speaker 3: But I just had to roll with it. I was like, yeah,
- 21:31Speaker 3: like if it was.
- 21:32Speaker 2: I was like Tanya worked with CM like it's a
- 21:34Speaker 2: real and then Tony's like, put is it from her
- 21:36Speaker 2: a real email? Yeah?
- 21:38Speaker 1: I was like check the email, check the phone numbers. Yeah.
- 21:42Speaker 2: So then we're like trying to plan dates back because
- 21:45Speaker 2: she was like I got them to extend our flight trip.
- 21:48Speaker 3: I'm like that's amazing.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Whoa So, I mean, while you're getting the bill on
- 21:53Speaker 1: the other.
- 21:54Speaker 2: End, just like, okay, this is racking up. And the
- 21:57Speaker 2: plan was that, you know, me, Haley, and Marla were
- 22:01Speaker 2: all gonna share a room, but I got two rooms
- 22:04Speaker 2: so that everyone had their space. And so as it's
- 22:10Speaker 2: getting closer, one night, I had gardened and Haley goes,
- 22:16Speaker 2: how do I know this isn't you doing this whole
- 22:18Speaker 2: thing and that you don't actually have a work trip
- 22:20Speaker 2: with Starbucks? And I like was taking the pillows off
- 22:23Speaker 2: the bed and I was turned away from her, and
- 22:25Speaker 2: I was like, you have to lock in, Like you
- 22:28Speaker 2: have to lock in and be like the best liar
- 22:31Speaker 2: you've ever been. And I was like that would be genius.
- 22:35Speaker 2: I was like, but I really, you know, I really
- 22:38Speaker 2: want to just propose to you the way that I
- 22:40Speaker 2: want to. And she's like, Okay, I'm gonna stop asking
- 22:42Speaker 2: because I don't even I don't want to ruin my
- 22:43Speaker 2: own proposal. And I was like, that would be great,
- 22:45Speaker 2: thanks so much. So after that she stopped like kind
- 22:49Speaker 2: of asking questions about it. I just kept having to
- 22:51Speaker 2: be like, I have stuff in London. I can't wait
- 22:54Speaker 2: to do this in London. Oh my, one of my
- 22:56Speaker 2: favorite people that's part of the ambassadorship, isn't I No,
- 22:59Speaker 2: I wasn't.
- 22:59Speaker 1: Able to go.
- 23:00Speaker 3: I'm so yeah.
- 23:03Speaker 2: I planned a fake trip to New Zealand in January,
- 23:07Speaker 2: saying that I got an opportunity to go there, thinking
- 23:10Speaker 2: that she would think that's where I'm going to propose.
- 23:14Speaker 1: You got an opportunity to go there?
- 23:16Speaker 2: No, Like, I got a work thing in Australia and
- 23:18Speaker 2: then I was like we could maybe extend it and
- 23:20Speaker 2: go to New Zealand because she's we wanted to go
- 23:23Speaker 2: to New Zealand, and I thought that would be somewhere
- 23:26Speaker 2: where she would go. Okay, she's going to propose a
- 23:28Speaker 2: New Zealand. So it's a fake trip that I had
- 23:30Speaker 2: her mark off.
- 23:31Speaker 3: Like a week in January for.
- 23:34Speaker 2: This. By the way, lying like this, I was just
- 23:37Speaker 2: throwing stuff out there to see what would to Dick,
- 23:39Speaker 2: Like what what is she.
- 23:40Speaker 3: Going to believe? And that is sick, I know.
- 23:42Speaker 2: I just I had to commit, and so I didn't
- 23:45Speaker 2: tell anybody. And I because I wanted everything to be
- 23:49Speaker 2: really clean. I didn't want any I didn't want to
- 23:51Speaker 2: have to like protect my stories or anything.
- 23:54Speaker 1: So clean, well, you would tell people the truth.
- 23:59Speaker 3: I know. But I can't arrest that anyone wasn't an ax.
- 24:02Speaker 3: I couldn't.
- 24:03Speaker 2: It was too risky. It was such a big thing,
- 24:06Speaker 2: a big plan that like I really couldn't risk someone slipping.
- 24:10Speaker 2: I would have been like, I can't talk to you
- 24:12Speaker 2: for a weaver. So I was leaving Tuesday night. She
- 24:19Speaker 2: thinks I'm going to London and I'm going to the airport.
- 24:24Speaker 2: Because my whole thing leading up to this was what
- 24:26Speaker 2: am I going to do about my shared location. I'm like,
- 24:29Speaker 2: we share locations. And then I thought, I'm just gonna
- 24:33Speaker 2: turn it off. And I thought, when you turn it off,
- 24:35Speaker 2: it doesn't tell anybody. It does well, apparently when you
- 24:39Speaker 2: only turn off one person's it notifies them. So I'm
- 24:44Speaker 2: on the way to the airport and she goes, hey, babe,
- 24:47Speaker 2: did you mean to stop sharing your location with me?
- 24:51Speaker 2: And I go, uugh, no, I was like, I did
- 24:53Speaker 2: something on my computer before I left. I was like,
- 24:55Speaker 2: I just got the same frantic message from Tanya and
- 25:00Speaker 2: and I just turned it right back on. I like,
- 25:02Speaker 2: didn't make a big deal of it. I just turned
- 25:04Speaker 2: it back on. So then she called me and she's like, hey,
- 25:07Speaker 2: I I still can't see your location because I ended
- 25:10Speaker 2: up turning it off on the app, which doesn't let
- 25:12Speaker 2: anyone know, by the way, And I go, when you
- 25:15Speaker 2: get home, will you check my computer and change the
- 25:17Speaker 2: settings on the my location settings?
- 25:20Speaker 1: So that turns to have her going into your computer
- 25:24Speaker 1: with like text messages.
- 25:25Speaker 2: I changed my password, so she was never going to
- 25:28Speaker 2: be able to get into my computer, so she said,
- 25:31Speaker 2: because I was just going to be like tell her
- 25:33Speaker 2: the password and she was going to keep trying and
- 25:35Speaker 2: be like it's not working, and I'm like, oh my god,
- 25:38Speaker 2: I don't know what I did.
- 25:39Speaker 4: Block your computer.
- 25:40Speaker 2: Yeah, so she said, she said in hindsight, as soon
- 25:44Speaker 2: as I said, like, just go to my computer and
- 25:46Speaker 2: check it, she didn't think anything of it, because she
- 25:49Speaker 2: was like, you were so nonchalant about it that I
- 25:51Speaker 2: just was like, for I guess I don't care whatever.
- 25:54Speaker 2: So I get to panic. I get to the airport,
- 25:59Speaker 2: she called me, and I fake. I'm sitting by myself.
- 26:03Speaker 2: There's barely anyone sitting around me, and I fake a
- 26:06Speaker 2: conversation like I'm seeing someone from Starbucks.
- 26:09Speaker 3: It's going on the trip and I'm like.
- 26:11Speaker 2: Oh my god, hey, like how are you? And I'm
- 26:14Speaker 2: like I overpack so much, like it's gonna be so
- 26:17Speaker 2: cold and rainy, like I'm not prepared. And then I'm
- 26:20Speaker 2: like the person like walked away allegedly, and I go,
- 26:25Speaker 2: oh my god, I feel so bad.
- 26:26Speaker 3: I can't remember her name.
- 26:32Speaker 1: It's like diabolical.
- 26:33Speaker 2: It's diabolical. So I get on the plane. I'm like,
- 26:39Speaker 2: I just have to try the plant. The flight time
- 26:41Speaker 2: from LA to London was like a similar flight time
- 26:44Speaker 2: to Tokyo, so I was like the time, She's not
- 26:47Speaker 2: gonna question you know, why am I still on the plane?
- 26:51Speaker 2: So I was like, I told her it was delayed
- 26:53Speaker 2: an hour or something, so that the length felt more accurate.
- 26:57Speaker 3: By the way, these are all things that like she
- 26:59Speaker 3: could check. She didn't even think about, right, but she
- 27:02Speaker 3: could have cheme about everything. Yeah, I could have checked.
- 27:05Speaker 1: Yeah, if you said my fight's delayed, like that's something
- 27:07Speaker 1: Robbie would do, he would like go on the like
- 27:09Speaker 1: website and it was like, look, oh I would never
- 27:11Speaker 1: if he was like my fights lay now, I'm like, okay,
- 27:13Speaker 1: cool text to me, LAMB.
- 27:15Speaker 3: That's why it's fun to surprise y'all and prank you.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Because it's just easy.
- 27:21Speaker 3: So I get there and I land and.
- 27:25Speaker 2: By the time I think I got there, it was
- 27:27Speaker 2: nighttime here or something. There was a I had a
- 27:29Speaker 2: break or she was I don't know what happened.
- 27:32Speaker 3: She was busy.
- 27:33Speaker 2: I got to the hotel I had to, like, I
- 27:35Speaker 2: got to I got to the I landed, I got
- 27:39Speaker 2: off the plane. A guy Snam really helped me, Like
- 27:43Speaker 2: she set up like my car service and everything, like.
- 27:45Speaker 3: She's literally my hero. I got there, the guy.
- 27:49Speaker 2: Picked me up, got took me to the train, got
- 27:52Speaker 2: my train to get and put me in my seat
- 27:54Speaker 2: on the train, Otherwise I would probably still be at
- 27:56Speaker 2: the train station. I was so overwhelmed and like it
- 28:00Speaker 2: is so overstimulating and like navigating that system and nothing
- 28:06Speaker 2: being and everyone's super helpful, but nothing being familiar to me.
- 28:11Speaker 3: I was so grateful for him.
- 28:13Speaker 2: I had a two hour train ride, so I'm just like, oh,
- 28:16Speaker 2: I'm waiting.
- 28:17Speaker 3: To get off the plane. It's taking forever. My bag
- 28:20Speaker 3: y to just stom I get to the hotel.
- 28:24Speaker 2: I tell the girls that meet me. They were like amazing,
- 28:27Speaker 2: the girls at four season. They were in on everything,
- 28:30Speaker 2: so they knew about it. They were so excited. And
- 28:32Speaker 2: I was like, I got to go to my room
- 28:33Speaker 2: and I need to close the blinds because it's supposed
- 28:35Speaker 2: to be dark in London. London was like the worst
- 28:38Speaker 2: choice I could have made, because the opposite day and
- 28:40Speaker 2: night made it so hard trying to like lie FaceTime, Yeah,
- 28:44Speaker 2: because I just had to FaceTime from the room and
- 28:47Speaker 2: have my drapes shut.
- 28:49Speaker 1: Yeah, because it would be like bright daylight.
- 28:50Speaker 2: And I'd be like, all right, I'm going to bed.
- 28:52Speaker 2: I'm so tired. I feel jet lagged and then I
- 28:56Speaker 2: go to bed and then go eat breakfast and have
- 28:58Speaker 2: my day. So the first day I got there, I
- 29:03Speaker 2: called her and I was like, I'm literally sick.
- 29:05Speaker 3: I'm so tired, I have to go to sleep. I
- 29:07Speaker 3: love you so much.
- 29:08Speaker 2: We FaceTime and then went had breakfast and got a
- 29:11Speaker 2: massage at the hotel, like just talk to the girls
- 29:14Speaker 2: about the plan, scouted the location of where I was
- 29:16Speaker 2: going to do it, and that was the That was
- 29:20Speaker 2: two days before and they were flying in the next day,
- 29:24Speaker 2: and so I was like, I need to call all
- 29:26Speaker 2: the people I need to call. I wanted to call
- 29:29Speaker 2: and ask her parents for their blessing because I was
- 29:31Speaker 2: going to do it at Thanksgiving, but I was just
- 29:33Speaker 2: worried that she would walk in or they might say something.
- 29:36Speaker 2: So I just waited till the day before to call
- 29:38Speaker 2: them and tell them. And then I called you to
- 29:41Speaker 2: tell you. I called her parents and it was like
- 29:46Speaker 2: really sweet and emotional and it was it was like
- 29:50Speaker 2: really special and I'm so glad. I had that time
- 29:53Speaker 2: in my room just chilling because I was able to
- 29:56Speaker 2: kind of process what I needed to do and pick
- 29:58Speaker 2: out my outfit and all the things. But I called
- 30:03Speaker 2: Tanya and Robbie and I want to talk about that,
- 30:08Speaker 2: but we're going to do it.
- 30:09Speaker 1: Yes, because I have so much to say. I have
- 30:12Speaker 1: so much to say because I just getting a FaceTime
- 30:16Speaker 1: from Becca is very alarming because she never face times me.
- 30:20Speaker 1: So I was like, the whole the whole thing was crazy.
- 30:24Speaker 3: But we're going to do it on our next episode.
- 30:25Speaker 1: Yes. So too much to get to.
- 30:27Speaker 3: Be continued on the next episode of Scribbing in
- 30:33Speaker 1: Love You love It
