- 0:14Speaker 1: I'm a check the audult. Hey, everybody, welcome to Conspiracy
- 0:35Speaker 1: The Show. I'm your host, Adam Todd Brown.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Who are you. Hey, it's me Olivia Heidar.
- 0:41Speaker 1: You're in my living room right now.
- 0:42Speaker 2: I am. I love it.
- 0:44Speaker 1: That must be very exciting, you know.
- 0:46Speaker 2: I'm thrilled, legitimately, very happy to be doing a podcast
- 0:51Speaker 2: at birston of the Kid. It's been This is the
- 0:53Speaker 2: first time that I've done it since uh, the COVID
- 0:57Speaker 2: In person.
- 0:58Speaker 1: I think this is my second. Yeah, in person, I
- 1:01Speaker 1: recorded one with Jeff I know that. Yeah, beyond that, Yeah,
- 1:05Speaker 1: I think that's it.
- 1:06Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:06Speaker 1: How are you enjoying your trip back to Los Angeles?
- 1:10Speaker 2: It's good, you know. It's one of those kind of
- 1:12Speaker 2: odd feelings where it's like, oh, yeah, this is a
- 1:15Speaker 2: place where like I really had a lot of emotion
- 1:18Speaker 2: infested in. Yeah, and now I'm like transitioning back to
- 1:24Speaker 2: the Midwest, and so I don't know, it's weird.
- 1:26Speaker 1: I bet I bet the Midwest is weird right now.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Oh my god. Yeah. I mean I feel like it's
- 1:31Speaker 2: safe to say that America as a whole is pretty
- 1:34Speaker 2: weird right now.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Yeah, everywhere seems like it's having its moment. Yeah right now,
- 1:40Speaker 1: how excited are you to I can't believe you traveled
- 1:43Speaker 1: to la just to cover this topic.
- 1:45Speaker 2: I mean, of course it's I mean like it's so vital, Like.
- 1:49Speaker 1: It's a very important one, that's for sure.
- 1:50Speaker 2: I felt like this was one that needed that like
- 1:53Speaker 2: crackling electricity that only can happen when like two people
- 1:57Speaker 2: are together.
- 1:58Speaker 1: I tried to get six people on this, but most
- 2:00Speaker 1: of the lamestream media is to lame stream to talk
- 2:04Speaker 1: about this. Wow, which shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone.
- 2:09Speaker 2: No, I am unafraid. I am unafraid of this.
- 2:12Speaker 1: But we are one segment of the lamestream media that
- 2:16Speaker 1: is not unwilling to tackle this issue. We're talking about
- 2:20Speaker 1: Hunter Biden's laptop. We actually have it here in front
- 2:23Speaker 1: of us. We're going to go through it file by file.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Wow. I mean it's like a piece of history, you know,
- 2:31Speaker 2: right in front of me.
- 2:32Speaker 1: It sure is. I don't know if this is a
- 2:34Speaker 1: story that's going to go down in history. This is
- 2:36Speaker 1: one of those stories that I think one half of
- 2:40Speaker 1: the political spectrum doesn't care about and the other half
- 2:44Speaker 1: shouldn't care about. Like this doesn't seem just in the
- 2:49Speaker 1: annals of presidential misconduct, like even things Biden has done,
- 2:54Speaker 1: this just seems kind of low on the list.
- 2:58Speaker 2: It's kind of been a running theme for several years.
- 3:01Speaker 2: It's like when a democratic politician like needs to be
- 3:04Speaker 2: attacked from the right, they always attack it like directly
- 3:09Speaker 2: to their ideological base that already believes them right, Whereas
- 3:15Speaker 2: like no one on the left cares about Hunter Biden's
- 3:19Speaker 2: laptop or you know, any of the number of other like, uh,
- 3:23Speaker 2: you know, they would be like racist against Kamala Harris,
- 3:26Speaker 2: you know, as like and like you could just judge
- 3:29Speaker 2: Kamala Harris and the terrible things that she'd done, talk
- 3:32Speaker 2: about like the legislation that she or Biden had been
- 3:35Speaker 2: a part of. And you're gonna get way more pushback
- 3:38Speaker 2: from the left on them, like they're gonna be into that.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Yeah. I think the people who are really pushing this
- 3:44Speaker 1: story think that people on the left would either be
- 3:48Speaker 1: upset if Hunter Biden went to prison for something or
- 3:53Speaker 1: would somehow protect Hunter Biden. And now I don't give
- 3:56Speaker 1: a shit, right, it's like the let's go Brandon. Yeah,
- 4:01Speaker 1: like you can just say fuck Joe Biden. No one cares,
- 4:03Speaker 1: No one fucking likes Joe.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Biden, no very unpopular president.
- 4:08Speaker 1: That said, if you're expecting a scandal like this to
- 4:11Speaker 1: take any presidential candidate down in twenty twenty two, you're
- 4:16Speaker 1: fucking dreaming.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Yeah, no, absolutely not. I mean, to be fair to them,
- 4:22Speaker 2: it would have more of a chance of working on
- 4:25Speaker 2: a Democrat because Democrats are naturally spineless, yeah, and unwilling
- 4:29Speaker 2: to fight for their own And it might work in
- 4:33Speaker 2: that case, but otherwise, I just don't think, especially not
- 4:36Speaker 2: this laptop thing is not a big enough story to
- 4:39Speaker 2: have any of the like widespread effects that I think
- 4:43Speaker 2: the people pushing it wan.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Yeah, how familiar were you with Hunter Biden? I know
- 4:48Speaker 1: nothing about him, but he seems like a sleazy bag.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean before this last election period that is
- 4:57Speaker 2: still happening, you know. Never really, I don't think i'd
- 5:00Speaker 2: ever heard of him before he became a like scandal
- 5:05Speaker 2: around Joe Biden's neck.
- 5:06Speaker 1: I had not either, And I think that just speaks
- 5:08Speaker 1: to how little I care about the Biden's Absolutely, and
- 5:12Speaker 1: maybe we should have cared more about the Bidens, because yeah,
- 5:16Speaker 1: Joe Biden's really been doing some shit in his time
- 5:20Speaker 1: in politics. Yeah, like especially all those crime bills. Absolutely,
- 5:24Speaker 1: but what were we going to do? Vote for Trump? Now?
- 5:28Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, it's this is the position that they
- 5:31Speaker 2: we are constantly put in by, especially the Democrats.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Yeah, but I'm sure they'll figure it out in twenty
- 5:36Speaker 1: twenty four.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Of course, and the midterms will be great.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Yeah, Yeah, we're gonna slay.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Twenty two has already been super normal and good for
- 5:45Speaker 2: this administration. So yeah, it could only you know, get better.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Yeah, Joe Biden's hot right now. He's definitely is super hot,
- 5:52Speaker 1: definitely having a moment. So before we dive into the
- 5:56Speaker 1: laptop story, let's run through a little background about the
- 6:01Speaker 1: relationship between Joe Biden, almost said Joe Budden rapper.
- 6:06Speaker 2: Now this is what we get to the bottom two.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Now that's a story. What does Joe Buden know about Ukraine?
- 6:12Speaker 2: Exactly?
- 6:13Speaker 1: Joe Biden Hunter Biden and Ukraine. Back when he was
- 6:17Speaker 1: still VP in twenty fourteen, Biden made an appearance in Kiev,
- 6:21Speaker 1: the capital of Ukraine, as a show of support for
- 6:24Speaker 1: the country's government. That was on April twenty first, twenty fourteen.
- 6:28Speaker 1: And I will admit that what happens next timing wise,
- 6:32Speaker 1: is a little strange. On May thirteenth, twenty fourteen, Barisma Group,
- 6:37Speaker 1: a natural gas drilling company in Ukraine, announced that Hunter
- 6:41Speaker 1: Biden was joining its board at a point in history
- 6:44Speaker 1: when the company's founder just happened to be under investigation
- 6:47Speaker 1: for alleged money laundry. And this is at a point
- 6:50Speaker 1: when Joe Biden is kind of the point person on
- 6:53Speaker 1: our dealings with Ukraine. Yeah, so he visits this company
- 6:58Speaker 1: that's being investigated, hires his and it's actually worse than that.
- 7:02Speaker 1: But we'll get to right the specifics later. But that's
- 7:06Speaker 1: a weird coincidence.
- 7:07Speaker 2: It is, it is very weird. I mean, like, look,
- 7:11Speaker 2: I'm totally willing to believe in basically any sort of
- 7:14Speaker 2: corruption level at the Bidens.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I have one hundred percent believe this could
- 7:21Speaker 1: have happened. Yeah, probably did happen. Maybe crazier things have happened.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Yes, absolutely. It's the post Trump era. It's the time
- 7:30Speaker 2: when you know, people are just kind of getting away
- 7:32Speaker 2: with shit because federally it seems like nothing matters that
- 7:37Speaker 2: we do.
- 7:37Speaker 1: So on December eighth, twenty fifteen, Joe Biden visited Kiev again,
- 7:44Speaker 1: and during a meeting with government officials, threatened to withhold
- 7:48Speaker 1: loan guarantees unless the country's top prosecutor, a man named
- 7:52Speaker 1: Victor Schoken, was fired. Chokun had been accused of corruption.
- 7:57Speaker 1: Here's a possible conflict of interest. Choken before this had
- 8:01Speaker 1: been investigating Barisma. So the thinking on the side of
- 8:08Speaker 1: the people pushing this story is that Joe Biden basically
- 8:13Speaker 1: ordered this prosecutor to be fired to protect the company
- 8:17Speaker 1: his son was working for. That's what got Trump impeached
- 8:21Speaker 1: the second time. Yes, his phone call to the president
- 8:24Speaker 1: of Ukraine saying, if you don't open this investigation, then
- 8:28Speaker 1: we're not going to give you aid money. It doesn't
- 8:31Speaker 1: sound a lot different than what Joe Briden said in
- 8:34Speaker 1: twenty fifteen.
- 8:35Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a pretty pedestrian scandal by twenty twenty two terms.
- 8:41Speaker 1: It is weird that Trump got impeached for it. Yeah,
- 8:44Speaker 1: Biden did essent, not really the same thing, but yeah,
- 8:49Speaker 1: like Trump just threatened to withhold aid money and threatened
- 8:53Speaker 1: to withhold loan guarantees, which that's basically aid money that
- 8:56Speaker 1: you have to pay back.
- 8:58Speaker 2: Uh yeah, I mean you know again, I feel like
- 9:03Speaker 2: basically the sins that didn't want to impeach Trump for
- 9:09Speaker 2: anything that actually hurt people, like nothing that mattered, you know, right,
- 9:13Speaker 2: and that was like seemingly the first thing that they
- 9:16Speaker 2: could really like go oh yeah, we got you one
- 9:19Speaker 2: more time before the election, baby.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Just yeah. I think the other big difference is Biden
- 9:26Speaker 1: was requesting action to be taken against someone in Ukraine, right,
- 9:32Speaker 1: whereas Trump was asking for action to be taken against
- 9:35Speaker 1: a United States citizen who was running for president and
- 9:38Speaker 1: was the current or no he wasn't current vice president. No,
- 9:41Speaker 1: but uh yeah, that makes it a little different.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Yes, there's a lot of contextual differences.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Yes, and yeah, Victor Choken wasn't running for president in
- 9:52Speaker 1: the United States, so yeah, it's not it's not quite
- 9:56Speaker 1: the same thing.
- 9:56Speaker 2: No, I mean, like but again, you know, not not
- 10:00Speaker 2: it's you know.
- 10:01Speaker 1: There's also Trump did that shit over the phone, but
- 10:05Speaker 1: that's dumb as hell. But granted, Biden didn't do himself
- 10:09Speaker 1: any favors when he went in front of I don't
- 10:13Speaker 1: remember what group it was, but he was given a
- 10:15Speaker 1: speech and he just bragged about this and was like, yeah, man,
- 10:19Speaker 1: I told him, you don't get the loan guarantees if
- 10:21Speaker 1: you don't find that prosecutor. Man, that's my Joe Biden. Yeah,
- 10:24Speaker 1: everyone liked it. No, it's great to do Joe Biden.
- 10:26Speaker 1: You just have to go man man after every word
- 10:29Speaker 1: you say man or.
- 10:31Speaker 2: Jack, Yeah, Jack, listen hear Jack, it's malarkey man.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:35Speaker 2: I have no Joe Biden impression. I try not to
- 10:38Speaker 2: listen to him talk if I can.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's frustrating, like we gotta do better next time.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Do you think he'll run again in twenty twenty four?
- 10:47Speaker 1: I don't think he would.
- 10:49Speaker 2: Is he gonna feel alive in twenty twenty four? Well,
- 10:52Speaker 2: he's so like he looks like he's about to keel
- 10:55Speaker 2: over dead at the next like large gust of wind.
- 10:59Speaker 1: Yeah, the next time a group of angry proud boys
- 11:02Speaker 1: kick in the door of the Capitol exactly.
- 11:06Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, I don't know. If he runs again,
- 11:09Speaker 2: I would have said no, but I also would have
- 11:13Speaker 2: said there's he's not gonna run in twenty twenty is he?
- 11:18Speaker 1: And then he did and he certainly won't get the nomination.
- 11:22Speaker 1: He was like, I mean, he's not exactly like Trump,
- 11:25Speaker 1: but it was kind of when I first heard his
- 11:27Speaker 1: name tossed around, I was like, no, yeah, it's not
- 11:30Speaker 1: gonna be Joe Biden.
- 11:32Speaker 2: I thought the same. I thought that there was no way.
- 11:36Speaker 2: I mean, well, not that there was no way obviously,
- 11:39Speaker 2: but it was just such an obvious push. It wasn't
- 11:43Speaker 2: even like a candidate who was mildly like popular, He
- 11:47Speaker 2: just had name recognition. He just comes into the last
- 11:50Speaker 2: minute and sweeps it up.
- 11:52Speaker 1: Yeah. He was Obama adjacent. Yeah, and I think people
- 11:55Speaker 1: were counting on him to get that Obama heat and
- 11:58Speaker 1: I think he did, and I guess it's what put
- 12:01Speaker 1: him over the top. And then he was like, thanks
- 12:04Speaker 1: black people, now on to not worrying about your issues again.
- 12:08Speaker 2: Yep. Basically, I mean, yeah, it's been what a fucking
- 12:12Speaker 2: wet part of a first year for a president. Yeah,
- 12:17Speaker 2: Like compared even it's not even disastrous in the way
- 12:21Speaker 2: that the Trump first year was, which was just insane
- 12:25Speaker 2: thing after insane thing every single day. I mean, the
- 12:27Speaker 2: world has been crumbling around us for the last two years.
- 12:31Speaker 2: But uh, I feel like in the end, it is
- 12:35Speaker 2: just there's a pandemic going on. There's so much more
- 12:38Speaker 2: that could have been done that wasn't. Yeah, And that
- 12:42Speaker 2: says just as much as a million crazy shitty things
- 12:46Speaker 2: all thrown at you at once.
- 12:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I think the way he handled the Capitol riot
- 12:51Speaker 1: two is a little disappointing. Yeah, Like you can't be
- 12:56Speaker 1: so I get not necessarily wanting to go hard on
- 13:01Speaker 1: the rioters. I really do, because I have no doubt
- 13:04Speaker 1: that at some point our side might have to riot
- 13:07Speaker 1: at the Capitol.
- 13:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:08Speaker 1: Also, absolutely, and we should maintain the right to do that.
- 13:12Speaker 2: I agree.
- 13:13Speaker 1: But if you're a politician participating in it, yeah, that
- 13:17Speaker 1: feels a little different.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Yeah exactly.
- 13:21Speaker 1: And those people aren't being held accountable in any real way,
- 13:27Speaker 1: and it's like, you're the president, man, do something.
- 13:29Speaker 2: Jack exactly. There are just so many problems like that
- 13:35Speaker 2: that he could solve just using the executive power that
- 13:40Speaker 2: he and his party have been building up for the
- 13:43Speaker 2: last twenty years in conjunction with the Republicans, Like, yeah,
- 13:46Speaker 2: just push authority into the executive all of it. And
- 13:52Speaker 2: then Democrats are like, but we don't want to use it.
- 13:56Speaker 2: People might not like us.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Yeah, And the thing is they have used it, so
- 14:01Speaker 1: use it now things well, not even just shitty things.
- 14:05Speaker 1: It's kind of how Daka.
- 14:06Speaker 2: Got a little bit. Yeah.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I pushed there, But that's also sort of the exception.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Like in terms of exactly things executive orders have been
- 14:14Speaker 1: used for, Like there's DACA, and then it's like Venezuela
- 14:19Speaker 1: is a threat to American security, and it's like no,
- 14:22Speaker 1: they're not.
- 14:23Speaker 2: Or like Obama be like, oh yeah, no, no, it's
- 14:26Speaker 2: it's cool to assassinate Americans overseas.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Story about Yeah, as long as we do it by drone, Yeah,
- 14:31Speaker 1: that's more. That's ethical exactly. Then no one has to
- 14:34Speaker 1: have it weighing on their conscience except that drone operator. Yeah, obviously.
- 14:38Speaker 1: So let's talk about this laptop. After they tried to
- 14:42Speaker 1: get the Ukrainian president to basically intervene in the twenty
- 14:47Speaker 1: twenty election on Trump's behalf by investigating Biden. After that failed,
- 14:53Speaker 1: this laptop story was the next attempt. Yeah, they I
- 14:58Speaker 1: think they were going for the same thing they got
- 15:01Speaker 1: in twenty sixteen, which was the FBI is investigating Hillary
- 15:07Speaker 1: Clinton's story. Right, that came out like a fucking five
- 15:11Speaker 1: days before the election. Yeah, it's like, thanks a lot.
- 15:14Speaker 1: It was funny, and I feel like they were hoping
- 15:17Speaker 1: for a moment like that again with this story, and
- 15:21Speaker 1: they didn't get it for obvious reasons that we'll get to.
- 15:25Speaker 1: Here's the story. Basically, it's alleged that in April twenty nineteen,
- 15:29Speaker 1: Hunter Biden dropped off a water damaged laptop at a
- 15:32Speaker 1: computer shop in Delaware and asked them to recover any
- 15:36Speaker 1: data they could, and then he just left it there,
- 15:39Speaker 1: never paid for it, never went back to get it
- 15:41Speaker 1: and pick it up, Which that's weird. But also when
- 15:45Speaker 1: you look into Hunter Biden.
- 15:47Speaker 2: Yeah, he could just be a dick.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Yeah, he could be a dick. He could have found
- 15:51Speaker 1: out there was a warrant out for his arrest in
- 15:53Speaker 1: that area and he just couldn't go back.
- 15:55Speaker 2: Maybe he did too much coke and forgot the address.
- 15:58Speaker 1: Yeah, he might have just been too high when he
- 16:01Speaker 1: dropped it off to remember. And it sounds like we're joking,
- 16:05Speaker 1: but that's kind of Hunter Biden's defense.
- 16:07Speaker 2: Seems like a party boy.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Yeah, he's just like, yeah, it could have been me.
- 16:10Speaker 1: I don't know. Someone could have stole it from me
- 16:13Speaker 1: and taken it there. It could be anything. Have no clue.
- 16:16Speaker 1: You're asking me to remember all the way back to
- 16:18Speaker 1: April twenty nineteen. Yeah, jeezus, But come on, So the
- 16:23Speaker 1: shop owner, first of all, this can't be a real name,
- 16:27Speaker 1: John Paul mac Isaac.
- 16:30Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, it's just four words.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's four words. One of them has a
- 16:35Speaker 1: word from the scandal in it, which is Mac. Yeah.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Well, I think what throws us off is the is
- 16:42Speaker 2: that Mac Isaac is two words instead of like mc isaac.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Right, and the John Paul and then Mac who makes
- 16:52Speaker 1: Max Apple? What was the name of the Beatles production
- 16:56Speaker 1: company and record label Apple? So I think we've got
- 17:00Speaker 1: a pretty big connection there. Yeah. The mainstream media also
- 17:04Speaker 1: is not No.
- 17:05Speaker 2: I mean, what how could they? How could they possibly?
- 17:09Speaker 1: I think what I'm getting at is this is the
- 17:11Speaker 1: real Paul McCartney, of course, the one who died in
- 17:14Speaker 1: the car, right, and then they cloned that one, and
- 17:17Speaker 1: now this is him, right, and it's a fake Paul McCartney, right,
- 17:21Speaker 1: that's still making music.
- 17:23Speaker 2: So it's like Paul McCartney, Paul is dead, but like
- 17:27Speaker 2: fau McCartney. Uh, like right, I'm trying to think of
- 17:32Speaker 2: a mall mall.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Yeah, false McCartney, false McCart that's not no, that's pretty
- 17:40Speaker 1: good false McCartney. I like that. Yeah, So false McCartney
- 17:44Speaker 1: gets this laptop and he decides, after the person doesn't
- 17:48Speaker 1: pick it up, who he knows is Hunter Biden, or
- 17:51Speaker 1: he thinks is Hunter Biden.
- 17:53Speaker 2: He says, is he's Hunter Biden, right, because that's the
- 17:56Speaker 2: only reason that they know that this is his laptop, and.
- 17:59Speaker 1: When he signed the forms, he signed or he wrote
- 18:02Speaker 1: his name as Hunter Biden.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Right.
- 18:05Speaker 1: But also one wrinkle in the story that will get
- 18:08Speaker 1: to a little more in a minute. The shop owner's blind.
- 18:12Speaker 1: He's legally blind, so he can't definitively id Hunter Biden,
- 18:19Speaker 1: but he could go through what was on the laptop
- 18:22Speaker 1: and definitively id it as embarrassing and alarming. And some
- 18:28Speaker 1: of this stuff is like allegedly pictures of Hunter Biden's
- 18:31Speaker 1: smoke and crack. Well, how does that work if you're
- 18:34Speaker 1: legally blind? Right? Is there like yeah? Like I know
- 18:37Speaker 1: there's like speech to text programs, but is there like
- 18:40Speaker 1: an app you pull up that goes that's a picture
- 18:44Speaker 1: of Hunter Biden smoke and crack?
- 18:47Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean there's definitely some questions with regards to
- 18:50Speaker 2: the shopowner. I mean, there's nothing to say he could
- 18:54Speaker 2: you know, it says he's legally blind, so I'm sure
- 18:58Speaker 2: it seems like he might be cited and subcapacity, right,
- 19:01Speaker 2: And so I don't know how like it does seem
- 19:05Speaker 2: like and again I'm no, I'm no expert, but it
- 19:08Speaker 2: seems like if you can make out fine detail in
- 19:10Speaker 2: a jpeg on the laptop screen, then maybe you you
- 19:14Speaker 2: should be able to see if it's the same as
- 19:17Speaker 2: the person like there. But again I don't know. Yeah, like,
- 19:21Speaker 2: there's lots of levels of blindness and I'm not trying
- 19:23Speaker 2: to but yeah.
- 19:24Speaker 1: I guess it also depends on what version of Hunter
- 19:27Speaker 1: Biden comes stumbling into your Mac repair shop.
- 19:31Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe he's a little puffy.
- 19:32Speaker 1: Yeah. Is it a business hunter or is it party hunter?
- 19:36Speaker 2: Yeah, this is Monday morning hunter.
- 19:39Speaker 1: Was there a cigarette dangling out of his mouth?
- 19:42Speaker 2: That is exactly his vibe? Though? Oh for sure, five
- 19:45Speaker 2: o'clock shadow cigarette out of the mouth.
- 19:50Speaker 1: So this guy, he says what he found on the
- 19:52Speaker 1: laptop is alarming and embarrassing. So he contacted the FBI
- 19:56Speaker 1: like a real narc And he says he did it
- 19:59Speaker 1: because he fears for his own safety on account of
- 20:02Speaker 1: now having all this information about the president's son, which
- 20:06Speaker 1: I buy that. Yeah, sure, even if that's not why
- 20:09Speaker 1: he actually contacted the FBI, that's why he should have
- 20:12Speaker 1: contact Ian h.
- 20:14Speaker 2: That's a perfectly reasonable. I guess explanation. If you're gonna
- 20:17Speaker 2: nark to the FBI, then that makes sense as a reason.
- 20:22Speaker 1: But also the question is do you trust the FBI
- 20:25Speaker 1: right in that capacity?
- 20:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I you know, I don't know. I think your
- 20:29Speaker 2: average person off the street might.
- 20:31Speaker 1: I mean, you kind of have to. I guess what
- 20:33Speaker 1: else are you going to do? It's the fucking mob?
- 20:36Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, Yeah, I guess there.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 20:39Speaker 2: Well, I guess he could have sent it to just
- 20:43Speaker 2: just a bunch of like right wing news outlets. That
- 20:46Speaker 2: would have been another option.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Oh, he sort of does that. Yeah, But first he
- 20:51Speaker 1: met with the FBI in late twenty nineteen, and a
- 20:55Speaker 1: couple of weeks later, a team of agents returned with
- 20:58Speaker 1: a subpoena allowing them to confiscate the computer and an
- 21:02Speaker 1: external hard drive. And so that all definitely happened. The
- 21:06Speaker 1: only question is whether it happened as John, Paul Mac,
- 21:11Speaker 1: George Ringo, and Isaac say it happened, because again, he's
- 21:15Speaker 1: legally blind. So if he is straight up saying I
- 21:20Speaker 1: can't definitively id him, that's really helpful for Hunter Biden, because,
- 21:26Speaker 1: like I said, he's been interviewed about this he was
- 21:28Speaker 1: interviewed very recently, and by that I mean like April
- 21:32Speaker 1: twenty twenty one. But you hear people howl about the
- 21:36Speaker 1: mainstream media not covering this, and they've covered it, and
- 21:40Speaker 1: CBS in an interview asked him about this laptop, and
- 21:43Speaker 1: he was just like, yeah, could be mine, could not
- 21:47Speaker 1: be mine, wow, could be someone stole it from me,
- 21:49Speaker 1: could be anything. You never know, And as long as
- 21:53Speaker 1: that shop owner is like I don't know either, like
- 21:56Speaker 1: this is, you can't expect anyone to get impeached over this.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Oh no, absolutely, It's so unrealistic now. But yeah, and
- 22:04Speaker 1: that's what it seems like Republicans were hoping would happen.
- 22:08Speaker 1: This story would come out right before the election. Yeah,
- 22:11Speaker 1: and people would be up in arms about it, right,
- 22:13Speaker 1: and it would cost Biden the election.
- 22:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, and maybe that might have happened in
- 22:20Speaker 2: like twenty twelve, right, But like with two elections like
- 22:25Speaker 2: this under our belt, I just don't think we as
- 22:28Speaker 2: a society are in a place where we are all
- 22:32Speaker 2: together shocked by too many things, like enough to get
- 22:35Speaker 2: outraged in the same way. Yeah, And I mean, you know,
- 22:39Speaker 2: not to mention there's wayless credible evidence Leake linking Biden
- 22:44Speaker 2: to this scandal even than the whole Clinton like bullshit
- 22:51Speaker 2: that happened in twenty sixteen. And so yeah, I just
- 22:55Speaker 2: there's no way it again. It takes Republican you know, workers,
- 23:01Speaker 2: politicians and pundits and things kind of thinking that the
- 23:05Speaker 2: Democratic audience is pathetic and manipulative in the same way
- 23:10Speaker 2: as the conservative audience. And that's just a misjudgment. Like
- 23:15Speaker 2: I'm not saying you can't control that, you know, people
- 23:19Speaker 2: on the left. That's just not the way that you
- 23:21Speaker 2: do it. There's other ways.
- 23:22Speaker 1: Though, And just the idea that Republicans would stand in
- 23:28Speaker 1: front of Democrats in twenty twenty and go, Okay, you're
- 23:31Speaker 1: not going to believe this, but I think the president
- 23:34Speaker 1: and or vice president was using their office to make
- 23:37Speaker 1: themselves richer, right, And it's like, do you know who
- 23:40Speaker 1: you voted for in twenty sixteen?
- 23:42Speaker 2: Yeah, do you know who's running against Joe Biden?
- 23:44Speaker 1: Yeah, Like, of all the things you don't get to
- 23:48Speaker 1: bitch about, right when it comes to the other side,
- 23:51Speaker 1: it's failing to divest from their business interests.
- 23:54Speaker 2: Right, and like familial like nepotism, you know, like inter'
- 24:00Speaker 2: on behalf of your kids getting your kids paid jobs
- 24:03Speaker 2: at the White House.
- 24:04Speaker 1: The government spent two point five million dollars just on
- 24:08Speaker 1: food and drinks at Trump hotels while he was in office.
- 24:13Speaker 1: And this is maybe this is them accusing Biden of
- 24:16Speaker 1: taking like I think a million dollars. Yeah, maybe a.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Little bit so, and like kind of maybe having a
- 24:24Speaker 2: small part to play in the firing of a minor
- 24:27Speaker 2: Ukraine politician.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Yeah. So here's the thing, that computer shop owner, he
- 24:33Speaker 1: didn't just turn the laptop over to the FBI. He
- 24:37Speaker 1: also gave a copy of the hard drive to Rudy Giuliani.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Thank god.
- 24:40Speaker 2: Wow, America's finest lawyer.
- 24:42Speaker 1: Which I think if we've learned anything from the past
- 24:45Speaker 1: couple of years, it's if you want something done right,
- 24:48Speaker 1: you bring in Julian Because man, has that guy been
- 24:52Speaker 1: doing right by Trump this Ultimately.
- 24:55Speaker 2: He has showed nothing but sound judgment and solid thinking
- 25:00Speaker 2: for at least four years now.
- 25:03Speaker 1: He's the only person tied to Trump, with the exception
- 25:07Speaker 1: of maybe Sidney Powell, that crazy QAnon lawyer, But he's
- 25:11Speaker 1: the only person who when he gets up and talks
- 25:13Speaker 1: on Trump's behalf, I'm like, you might as well have
- 25:16Speaker 1: just had Trump do it, like it would have gone
- 25:19Speaker 1: so much better if Trump. Yeah, even if Trump showed
- 25:22Speaker 1: up at Four Seasons landscaping, Yeah, no, totally, he probably
- 25:26Speaker 1: could have made a joke out of it, Yeah something.
- 25:28Speaker 2: Yeah, he is a more naturally gifted entertainer, which is
- 25:34Speaker 2: an insane thing to say about when in reference to
- 25:37Speaker 2: tunnel Trump. But like compared to Rudy Giuliani, at least
- 25:41Speaker 2: he is.
- 25:42Speaker 1: I watch all of Trump's rallies for work reasons, and
- 25:46Speaker 1: he is a very charismatic speaker.
- 25:48Speaker 2: Absolutely, there's a reason why he was a huge threat
- 25:51Speaker 2: in the twenty sixties election. Yeah, you know, like it's
- 25:54Speaker 2: because he's able to, you know, whip up huge crowds
- 25:57Speaker 2: and he knows how to play to them. Where Giuliani,
- 26:02Speaker 2: the more like power he thinks he gets, the more
- 26:06Speaker 2: he seems to like shrivel into himself and just become
- 26:09Speaker 2: like a crazy reason a crazin.
- 26:13Speaker 1: So that this guy gave this hard drive to Giuliani
- 26:17Speaker 1: after Trump's second impeachment hearing, and this laptop never came
- 26:22Speaker 1: up in that testimony, so he was like, oh no,
- 26:26Speaker 1: I'm gonna bring in Giuliani, and Giuliani ends up handing
- 26:30Speaker 1: the hard drive over to the New York Post with
- 26:33Speaker 1: Steve Bannon acting as some sort of middleman, and the
- 26:38Speaker 1: New York Post, as it turns out, was not their
- 26:41Speaker 1: first choice. That would be the Wall Street Journal, who
- 26:45Speaker 1: passed on the story for you know, journalistic reasons that
- 26:50Speaker 1: I'm sure has absolutely nothing to do with what I'm
- 26:53Speaker 1: about to say next. Giuliani later said he chose the
- 26:56Speaker 1: New York Post because quote, either nobody else would take it,
- 27:00Speaker 1: or if they took it, they would spend all the
- 27:02Speaker 1: time they could to try to contradict it before they
- 27:05Speaker 1: put it out and quote. In other words, they needed
- 27:09Speaker 1: an outlet that would just publish a bunch of unsubstantiated
- 27:13Speaker 1: claims without verifying them. And I guess we missed their call, right, Yeah. No,
- 27:18Speaker 1: I'm unfortunate, Like we have a contact page right on
- 27:22Speaker 1: the website.
- 27:23Speaker 2: I feel bad. This is a real loss for you. You
- 27:25Speaker 2: deserve this.
- 27:26Speaker 1: I was angling for that all year. Yeah, and they
- 27:30Speaker 1: just skipped me together. It's fine.
- 27:32Speaker 2: They should have at least like BCC you on it.
- 27:35Speaker 1: You know, it's the least they could do.
- 27:37Speaker 2: I just think that's it.
- 27:38Speaker 1: With all I've done for the Jiuliani administration. I don't
- 27:42Speaker 1: know what you call Giuliani.
- 27:43Speaker 2: I think he's just lunatic. Now, I just a guy,
- 27:47Speaker 2: Just a guy.
- 27:48Speaker 1: So the New York Post, after ostensibly scouring an entire
- 27:53Speaker 1: hard drives worth of content, they come up with two
- 27:56Speaker 1: to three emails that they deem in cre dominating. Yeah,
- 28:01Speaker 1: and these emails act as the foundation for their first
- 28:05Speaker 1: stories about Hunter Biden's laptop, which were actually two separate
- 28:09Speaker 1: stories published on the same day because the Internet has
- 28:14Speaker 1: a terrible attention span.
- 28:16Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Well, the New York Posts, you know, they
- 28:19Speaker 2: love to fill up as much ad space as they
- 28:21Speaker 2: can possibly. They don't. They don't care what fills it.
- 28:23Speaker 2: They'll split it story into six parts if they need to.
- 28:26Speaker 1: Oh yeah. So one of these stories that they put
- 28:29Speaker 1: out was called Hunter Biden Emails show leveraging connections with
- 28:34Speaker 1: his father to boost Barisma pey snappy title, and the
- 28:37Speaker 1: other was smoking gun email reveals how Hunter Biden introduced
- 28:42Speaker 1: Ukrainian businessman to VP Dad and these articles why don't
- 28:47Speaker 1: I have it in the notes? They went up October fourteenth,
- 28:51Speaker 1: I think something like that of twenty twenty, so very
- 28:55Speaker 1: shortly before the election. And both emails do kind of
- 29:00Speaker 1: show what the headlines claim. The first article focuses on
- 29:04Speaker 1: a message Hunter Biden sent to his business partner, Devin Archer,
- 29:09Speaker 1: who was already on the board at Barisma. The quote
- 29:12Speaker 1: the story focuses on is this the announcement of my
- 29:16Speaker 1: guy's upcoming travels should be characterized as part of our
- 29:20Speaker 1: advice and thinking. But what he will say and do
- 29:24Speaker 1: is out of our hands, which that's pretty scandalous. Yes,
- 29:29Speaker 1: And of course my guy in question here is Joe Biden. Yeah.
- 29:33Speaker 2: I know he's probably being cryptic for the sake of
- 29:36Speaker 2: an email, but I do like the thought of Hunter
- 29:40Speaker 2: Biden calling his dad my guy, Hey, my guy, how's
- 29:45Speaker 2: it going?
- 29:46Speaker 1: As if people are going to be like, who's he
- 29:48Speaker 1: talking about? So he's not done either. There's also this quote,
- 29:53Speaker 1: we need to ask for long term agreement and across
- 29:56Speaker 1: the board participation. This is a huge step for us
- 29:59Speaker 1: that could easily become very complicated, and if we are
- 30:03Speaker 1: not protected financially, regardless of the outcome, we could find
- 30:06Speaker 1: ourselves frozen out of a lot of current and future opportunities.
- 30:10Speaker 1: The contract should begin now, not after the upcoming visit
- 30:14Speaker 1: of my guy. That should include a retainer in the
- 30:17Speaker 1: range of twenty five k per month with additional fees
- 30:20Speaker 1: where appropriate. For more in depth work to go to BSF,
- 30:24Speaker 1: which is their lawyers for our protection, completely separate from
- 30:28Speaker 1: our respective deals regarding board participation. And what's especially sketchy
- 30:34Speaker 1: about this email is he's emailing someone who's already on
- 30:38Speaker 1: the board at Barisma about clearly what kind of leverage
- 30:43Speaker 1: he can get with his dad on the company's behalf.
- 30:47Speaker 1: And it's before he worked for Barisma, so it sounds
- 30:51Speaker 1: like he and this guy went to Barisma and pitched
- 30:54Speaker 1: the idea of adding Hunter Biden to the board so
- 30:58Speaker 1: he could leverage his connecttion with his dad, which is shady.
- 31:04Speaker 1: It's probably a crime, and there is absolutely no proof
- 31:08Speaker 1: that Joe Biden knew anything about it.
- 31:10Speaker 2: Yeah, nothing in that email says anything about I mean,
- 31:13Speaker 2: it talks a lot about my guy.
- 31:14Speaker 1: But and Hunter Biden seems like the kind of guy
- 31:19Speaker 1: who would push this without telling his dad, because he
- 31:24Speaker 1: puts that line in there about you got to tell him.
- 31:26Speaker 1: We can't guarantee what he's going to say because then
- 31:30Speaker 1: that protects him and he doesn't really have to tell
- 31:32Speaker 1: his dad. He's just like, Hey, you want to come
- 31:34Speaker 1: meet these fuck sticks I'm working for And if he's like, yeah, Jack,
- 31:38Speaker 1: then good enough. And if he says no, then Hunter
- 31:40Speaker 1: Biden's still covered. No Jack, it's malarkey man.
- 31:47Speaker 2: Now he talks like a beat Nick. It's classic. I
- 31:51Speaker 2: would say, rich kid talk where he's like, oh, you know,
- 31:55Speaker 2: we can let's see what we could do with my fancy,
- 31:57Speaker 2: expensive parent who's like really and those people. Maybe, you know,
- 32:02Speaker 2: we want to meet him and see what he thinks.
- 32:05Speaker 2: I can't say, you know, I can't say for sure
- 32:07Speaker 2: whether he'll be down, but.
- 32:09Speaker 1: Yeah, and whether Joe Biden participated in any of this
- 32:13Speaker 1: or not. One, we're probably never gonna find out. And two,
- 32:17Speaker 1: it all comes down to how cool of a dad
- 32:19Speaker 1: he is. I would expect my dad to help out
- 32:24Speaker 1: with something like this. Granted he's dead, sure, but did
- 32:27Speaker 1: he live long enough. I would expect him to help
- 32:30Speaker 1: me extract money from the Government of Ukraine if I
- 32:33Speaker 1: was in the position.
- 32:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess The question is how cool of a
- 32:36Speaker 2: dad do you think Joe Biden is?
- 32:39Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 32:39Speaker 2: I don't know. He's either too cool where he's like
- 32:43Speaker 2: I wanted shades with my kids and I'm the cool
- 32:46Speaker 2: and I'm the cool. Well, if he was a cool dad.
- 32:48Speaker 1: He's certainly not. This country's cool.
- 32:51Speaker 2: No, but like, you know, look, I'm not going to
- 32:54Speaker 2: say it was all the Onion's fault, but I feel
- 32:58Speaker 2: like Joe Biden's popularity is least partially the fault of
- 33:02Speaker 2: The Onion's portrayal of Joe Biden as a cool, goofy
- 33:07Speaker 2: dude who eats ice cream and like washes muscle cars
- 33:12Speaker 2: and aviators and shit like it is just a total,
- 33:16Speaker 2: I don't know, weird old dad vibe. Yeah, so I
- 33:20Speaker 2: don't know, but I don't know. I don't think he'd
- 33:22Speaker 2: be a cool dad. I don't think I would like it.
- 33:24Speaker 1: No, probably not.
- 33:26Speaker 2: But he's rich, so I mean, hey, maybe it is cool.
- 33:29Speaker 1: And about those claims that Hunter Biden might have approached
- 33:33Speaker 1: Barisma to leverage his connections with his dad for their
- 33:38Speaker 1: own benefit, there's no proof of that, but there is
- 33:41Speaker 1: this email from Hey, Barisma executive, we urgently need your
- 33:45Speaker 1: advice on how you could use your influence to convey
- 33:47Speaker 1: a message signal, et cetera, to stop what we consider
- 33:51Speaker 1: to be politically motivated actions. And then Joe Biden fires
- 33:57Speaker 1: the prosecutor or demands the the prosecutor and be fired.
- 34:02Speaker 1: So listen, Yeah, people, I get why you're suspicious.
- 34:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, look, that's spicy. I'm gonna say it.
- 34:10Speaker 1: Sure is. And I'm suspicious too, Yeah, sure, I just
- 34:15Speaker 1: am not impeached. Joe Biden's suspicious.
- 34:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, like, look, I guess if you want
- 34:21Speaker 2: to impeach him, go ahead.
- 34:22Speaker 1: Sure.
- 34:23Speaker 2: Yeah, like whatever, it's not going to really bother me
- 34:26Speaker 2: that much.
- 34:28Speaker 1: Nope.
- 34:28Speaker 2: Either way, even if he like if he gets removed
- 34:31Speaker 2: from office or whatever, I don't really care.
- 34:33Speaker 1: That's not going to.
- 34:34Speaker 2: Really change much. But I am I personally can't get
- 34:40Speaker 2: that angry about it. No, not especially not compared to
- 34:44Speaker 2: I'm more angry about how he's handled COVID and like
- 34:49Speaker 2: the way he's about to start war speaking of the Ukraine. Well,
- 34:53Speaker 2: that's it's an interesting conflict of interest.
- 34:55Speaker 1: Yeah, we are, we are definitely going to war.
- 34:59Speaker 2: Yeah, and that sucks because he needs to prove that
- 35:04Speaker 2: his like dick.
- 35:05Speaker 1: Is not small or something correct.
- 35:07Speaker 2: And so he's going to like be like big on defense.
- 35:12Speaker 2: He's a real hawk.
- 35:13Speaker 1: I guess.
- 35:14Speaker 2: I don't know. This sucks, but like, yeah, this laptop
- 35:19Speaker 2: thing is nothing grid all that.
- 35:20Speaker 1: Yeah, and if he can believe it. There are some
- 35:22Speaker 1: questions about this story, about the veracity of the story.
- 35:27Speaker 1: But this it appeared in The New York Post twice exactly.
- 35:32Speaker 1: Oh no, it's been in The New York Post about
- 35:36Speaker 1: fifty five hundred times since they first wrote about it.
- 35:39Speaker 1: Shortly before the article was published, though, or shortly after
- 35:43Speaker 1: the article was published, The New York Times reported that
- 35:46Speaker 1: the staff reporter who mostly wrote the article refused to
- 35:49Speaker 1: put his name on the byline because he had concerns
- 35:53Speaker 1: over the credibility of the article.
- 35:56Speaker 3: Wow, when the New York Post is saying, when the
- 36:01Speaker 3: guy who works for the New York Post is like,
- 36:03Speaker 3: this seems unethical, this is a little salacious, say this
- 36:07Speaker 3: is infringing on my ethical uh precepts, I don't know.
- 36:13Speaker 1: And apparently he was not alone in those concerns. When
- 36:17Speaker 1: the article finally went up, there were two names on
- 36:19Speaker 1: the byeline, Emma Joe Morris and Gabrielle four Rouge. Emma
- 36:24Speaker 1: Joe Morris had zero byelines in the Post before that
- 36:27Speaker 1: and had only been working there for a few months
- 36:29Speaker 1: after leaving her previous job as a producer on Sean
- 36:33Speaker 1: Hannity's show, Oh.
- 36:34Speaker 2: Wow, So you know.
- 36:35Speaker 1: When they came to her and was like, you want
- 36:37Speaker 1: to put your name on this article? She was like, fuck, yeah,
- 36:40Speaker 1: I do.
- 36:41Speaker 2: Do you think they keep the Fox News captures like
- 36:44Speaker 2: in their own corner, like, you know, quarantined off from
- 36:49Speaker 2: everybody else. It's like they're like fair little children in there.
- 36:52Speaker 1: She probably left for One America News immediately after this
- 36:56Speaker 1: story went up. They probably gave her half a million
- 36:59Speaker 1: dollars a year.
- 37:00Speaker 2: You want to attack the left a little bit.
- 37:04Speaker 1: Okay, she's chained to the floor. Even crazier the other
- 37:10Speaker 1: woman on the byeline, Gabrielle Furrouge. She is said to
- 37:14Speaker 1: have had almost nothing to do with the reporting or writing,
- 37:18Speaker 1: and did not know her name was on the byeline
- 37:20Speaker 1: until the story was published. Ah but yeah, why didn't
- 37:24Speaker 1: Biden get impeached over this? I don't understand.
- 37:29Speaker 2: Oh my god, Jesus, that's so funny. Imagine imagine not
- 37:35Speaker 2: like aligning with this politically, did like seeing, oh shit,
- 37:39Speaker 2: this is what you're doing with my name?
- 37:41Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 37:42Speaker 2: God?
- 37:43Speaker 1: And that raises a really obvious question, if you I mean,
- 37:47Speaker 1: I guess it's not that obvious of a question, but
- 37:49Speaker 1: if you think about it hard enough, how did this
- 37:52Speaker 1: article even get written like who wrote this? Yeah, And
- 37:56Speaker 1: the New York Times asked someone at the New York
- 37:59Speaker 1: Post that question and they refuse to comment, which leads
- 38:03Speaker 1: me to believe Bannon and Juliani probably just came to
- 38:07Speaker 1: them with the article exactly here it's written.
- 38:09Speaker 2: Yeah. It's like when when places like this like just
- 38:12Speaker 2: print someone's press release or something. You know, it's the
- 38:15Speaker 2: same basic thing. Yeah, they had this idea and just
- 38:19Speaker 2: presented a wholesale I have to imagine unless they have
- 38:22Speaker 2: someone like on the editorial staff who's just willing to
- 38:27Speaker 2: do that, but I doubt it.
- 38:30Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know. It makes it pretty clear why
- 38:33Speaker 1: the why the Wall Street Journal didn't take it. Yeah,
- 38:36Speaker 1: because I might not agree with the Wall Street Journal
- 38:39Speaker 1: on their politics, but their reporting yeah is pretty solid.
- 38:44Speaker 1: I mean, they're the New York Times of Republicans. Essentially.
- 38:48Speaker 2: They are a real newspaper, yes, for the most part.
- 38:52Speaker 1: And subscribing to it digitally costs thirty eight dollars a month. Jesus,
- 38:57Speaker 1: I have to do it, fucking cry. I mean I
- 39:00Speaker 1: get to write it off on my taxes, but that's
- 39:02Speaker 1: still small consolation when it comes out of my bank
- 39:05Speaker 1: account every month.
- 39:06Speaker 2: A month.
- 39:07Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm giving the Wall Street Journal, what like
- 39:11Speaker 1: almost five hundred dollars a year.
- 39:12Speaker 2: That's an How there's no way that's sustainable. Well, I
- 39:16Speaker 2: guess I've guessed the people who would want to.
- 39:19Speaker 1: It's gonna be every rich people.
- 39:21Speaker 2: God, that's just blowing my mind. That's so much money.
- 39:26Speaker 1: Yeah, the Washington Post, I think is seven dollars.
- 39:30Speaker 2: Let's say I've heard like ten, I've heard fifteen.
- 39:33Speaker 1: Uh, and like New York Times is a little spend year,
- 39:36Speaker 1: it's close to fifteen.
- 39:37Speaker 2: It probably it might be fifteen to twenty, but like
- 39:39Speaker 2: I would say, twenty is a cap for a monthly newspaper,
- 39:44Speaker 2: and like does it have an annual discount or anything?
- 39:46Speaker 1: Like? Is shit? Man, I don't know, but I'm not swinging.
- 39:50Speaker 2: Yeah all at once.
- 39:51Speaker 1: Jesus, that's a whole lot.
- 39:53Speaker 2: Yeah, that's wild. That's sorry. That's blowing my mind more
- 39:57Speaker 2: than anything that happens with this laptop. Is like, that's
- 40:01Speaker 2: how much the Wall Street Journal costs.
- 40:04Speaker 1: And I when I first subscribed to it, I really
- 40:08Speaker 1: didn't have the money, but I needed an article, yeah,
- 40:11Speaker 1: and it was behind the paywall. So I subscribed for
- 40:14Speaker 1: a free trial and I was like, well, I'm just
- 40:16Speaker 1: going to cancel it. It took me a solid six
- 40:19Speaker 1: months to figure out how to cancel.
- 40:21Speaker 2: That's how they get you.
- 40:22Speaker 1: It was nuts log on and they were like, you
- 40:25Speaker 1: don't have an account. You emailed me about my account,
- 40:29Speaker 1: and then I finally figured it out, and then I
- 40:31Speaker 1: just had to resubscribe and now I just pay them.
- 40:35Speaker 1: But at least I'm not getting like the Epoch Times
- 40:37Speaker 1: to write.
- 40:38Speaker 2: Oh my god, guess what what I recently last year
- 40:44Speaker 2: moved into my grandfather's house. Oh boy, in Indianapolis. And
- 40:50Speaker 2: guess who, like the Epoch Times just comes to automatically
- 40:55Speaker 2: is fucking senior citizens over sixty? Like it just is there.
- 40:59Speaker 2: I don't think he's subscribed to it. I don't think
- 41:01Speaker 2: he has had the mental clarity to have subscribed to
- 41:05Speaker 2: the Epoch Times. Sure, and let alone the knowledge of
- 41:09Speaker 2: like you know, he watches Fox News or watched yeah
- 41:13Speaker 2: like shit, but yeah, no, just every once in a while,
- 41:17Speaker 2: just get an Epoch Times that have to burn that shit.
- 41:20Speaker 1: Yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if they just send them
- 41:22Speaker 1: out to every senior I mean, it's China. They know
- 41:25Speaker 1: where all of our sister citizens live. They know everything
- 41:29Speaker 1: about us, so of course they can fire that off.
- 41:32Speaker 2: Yeah. They're better at using the data our government minds
- 41:35Speaker 2: than we are.
- 41:36Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. Well, it has to go I mean some
- 41:39Speaker 1: of so much of it comes from apps, right, so
- 41:41Speaker 1: a lot of it's got to go through China first.
- 41:45Speaker 1: So yeah, they the Republicans were expecting this to undo
- 41:51Speaker 1: Biden's chances at the election, and when it didn't, they
- 41:55Speaker 1: started howling about a media cover up. Yeah, and to
- 42:00Speaker 1: cover some shit up. Like I would never call the
- 42:02Speaker 1: media the enemy of the people. But they also don't
- 42:05Speaker 1: always do us a lot of favors, right, Like they
- 42:08Speaker 1: really straddle the line between useful and big big problem.
- 42:13Speaker 2: Yeah, And it's and and they're not a monolith, and
- 42:15Speaker 2: people put like outlets do occasionally act independently. But yeah,
- 42:20Speaker 2: that's less of the case now than it used to be,
- 42:22Speaker 2: especially like in the heyday of like the seventies. But
- 42:26Speaker 2: you know, it's more driven by profit now than anything.
- 42:29Speaker 1: Yeah. And if you're expecting that out of like the
- 42:32Speaker 1: New York uh, New York Times or the Washington Post,
- 42:36Speaker 1: that's where you're not going to get that kind of
- 42:38Speaker 1: stuff anymore, except like the Trump tax story. Yeah, was
- 42:41Speaker 1: a big one for The New York Times. But of
- 42:44Speaker 1: course the New York Times is going to go at
- 42:46Speaker 1: trumph that. Like they are diametrically opposed, right, But for
- 42:52Speaker 1: the most part, when the really interesting government malfeasant stories
- 42:57Speaker 1: get published, they're on like Newsweek or the Daily Bee.
- 43:01Speaker 1: Yahoo actually does some pretty solid reporting these days. But
- 43:06Speaker 1: when you see them on those outlets, they don't have
- 43:08Speaker 1: that same name recognition, right, so people think it's not
- 43:13Speaker 1: as valid of a story. Yeah, granted once it gets
- 43:16Speaker 1: kicked down to the New York Post. Yeah, then there's
- 43:19Speaker 1: a good chance it's not.
- 43:20Speaker 2: Well, that's the thing. Yeah, the New York Post is
- 43:23Speaker 2: just not a credible website, you know, even though like
- 43:26Speaker 2: Yahoo and Newsweek and these other outlets may have less
- 43:31Speaker 2: of like you know, they just don't carry as much
- 43:34Speaker 2: weight in the same way. But like I feel like
- 43:37Speaker 2: they still are more easily recognizable as like a reputable
- 43:41Speaker 2: source than something like right, Daily Mail or New York Posts.
- 43:46Speaker 1: These places that Daily Mail not good? What's going on?
- 43:50Speaker 2: Oh no, no, I mean they're fine, you know, they're good.
- 43:55Speaker 2: I know they're they're awful. They might be worse than
- 43:58Speaker 2: the Post.
- 43:58Speaker 1: So yeah, this idea that there was a media cover
- 44:01Speaker 1: up is something they pushed just because it didn't get
- 44:05Speaker 1: Biden impeached. And if you go back and look, a
- 44:08Speaker 1: lot of people reported on it, they just didn't report
- 44:11Speaker 1: on it in the way Republicans wanted it reported on.
- 44:15Speaker 2: Yeah, it wasn't apocalyptic, it wasn't greeted with the Fox
- 44:18Speaker 2: News like boom, breaking news.
- 44:20Speaker 1: Yeah, and this is way different than the FBI coming
- 44:24Speaker 1: out and saying, hey, we're investigating someone right president right now, Like,
- 44:28Speaker 1: it just doesn't have the same credibility.
- 44:31Speaker 2: I mean that the FBI, for all of their faults,
- 44:33Speaker 2: and they have many, many faults.
- 44:36Speaker 1: Oh yeah, they are.
- 44:38Speaker 2: A mostly independent, like you know, as they would say
- 44:43Speaker 2: deep state, but like you know, in the nontrogatory way,
- 44:46Speaker 2: like when they come out with a statement about Hillary Clinton,
- 44:50Speaker 2: that's a much more objective authority coming forward. They say
- 44:53Speaker 2: this is you know, this is something we're doing, we're investigating,
- 44:55Speaker 2: whereas just like we're investigating who's investigating Rudy Juliani, you know,
- 45:04Speaker 2: just doesn't carry the same way, It doesn't work the same. Yeah.
- 45:07Speaker 1: So it's not even remotely true that this was ignored
- 45:10Speaker 1: by mainstream media outlets. As I mentioned, earlier, CNN was
- 45:14Speaker 1: still reporting on it well into twenty twenty one. CBS
- 45:18Speaker 1: was interviewing Hunter Biden about it. The CNN article that
- 45:21Speaker 1: they ran in April twenty twenty one, the headline was
- 45:25Speaker 1: Hunter Biden Dodge's question on laptop seized by the FBI.
- 45:29Speaker 1: So that's not the mainstream media covering this up?
- 45:33Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I mean that's an honest headline. I mean sure, And.
- 45:38Speaker 1: That's not to say I don't believe any of this, Like, no,
- 45:41Speaker 1: I'm sure there's tons of incriminating shit. Yeah on a laptop. Oh,
- 45:45Speaker 1: I'm sure every Hunter Biden laptop has very bad things
- 45:49Speaker 1: on it.
- 45:49Speaker 2: Like instantly as soon as he signs in.
- 45:52Speaker 1: Yeah, it's probably there's probably a pop up that's like
- 45:56Speaker 1: we've detected a Hunter Biden. It's one of the options
- 46:00Speaker 1: for set up custom regular Hunter Biden.
- 46:03Speaker 2: His cloud is like a poison rain cloud. H It's
- 46:07Speaker 2: just it's just like you open up, you log into
- 46:10Speaker 2: your cloud that just descends upon this laptop.
- 46:15Speaker 1: The problem here isn't so much what's in the emails
- 46:19Speaker 1: that The New York Post reported on, at least for Republicans.
- 46:22Speaker 1: The problem is what's not in the emails. For one thing,
- 46:25Speaker 1: there aren't any allegations that haven't been made before. He's
- 46:30Speaker 1: been working in Ukraine since twenty fourteen. You think no
- 46:34Speaker 1: one has ever questioned if Hunter Biden was maybe trying
- 46:38Speaker 1: to leverage Dad to make extra money.
- 46:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, to be fair, nothing interesting was happening
- 46:43Speaker 2: in the Ukraine in twenty thirteen to twenty fourteen.
- 46:45Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true. They didn't have any bigger fish.
- 46:48Speaker 2: They didn't have anything else to look at in that region.
- 46:51Speaker 1: But it's that a lot of out let's have reported
- 46:53Speaker 1: on this already. There was a twenty fifteen New York
- 46:56Speaker 1: Times article called Joe Biden, his Son and the Case
- 47:00Speaker 1: against the Ukrainian Oligarch, and that was all about how
- 47:04Speaker 1: Hunter Biden's association with Barisma undermined the Obama Biden crusade
- 47:09Speaker 1: against corruption in Ukraine. And yeah, it sure does. But
- 47:14Speaker 1: back then also no one was like, let's impeach Obama
- 47:17Speaker 1: over it. It doesn't rise to that level of corruption because,
- 47:22Speaker 1: for one thing, they can't prove it.
- 47:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, and again, like, if your scandal isn't
- 47:27Speaker 2: even making waves pre Trump, I just don't know how
- 47:30Speaker 2: you're expecting the same scandal to land with any sort
- 47:35Speaker 2: of effectiveness.
- 47:37Speaker 1: Yeah, Like, note how the right didn't jump on that
- 47:40Speaker 1: scandal in twenty fifteen, Yeah, like that it would have
- 47:44Speaker 1: been a prime opportunity.
- 47:45Speaker 2: To do it absolarly the primary was winding up.
- 47:49Speaker 1: There was also in twenty nineteen a New Yorker profile
- 47:52Speaker 1: called will Hunter Biden jeopardized his father's campaign, and it
- 47:56Speaker 1: raised all the same concerns, but they characterized it more
- 48:00Speaker 1: as what I think it might be, which is Joe
- 48:03Speaker 1: Biden's unruly kid just running around kind of doing for
- 48:06Speaker 1: whatever the fuck he wants because his dad is vice
- 48:09Speaker 1: president or president or was he a senator before that? Yes, Yeah,
- 48:14Speaker 1: And that's kind of what it seems like. This is.
- 48:17Speaker 2: I mean, like once you start going down that road,
- 48:20Speaker 2: you're just gonna eventually have to either arrest every senator's
- 48:24Speaker 2: kid or indict every senator. Was like at a certain point,
- 48:28Speaker 2: like they're all rich kids who grew up an immense privilege. Yeah,
- 48:32Speaker 2: so there's gonna be some bad behavior there. Obviously some
- 48:35Speaker 2: of them are older or whatever.
- 48:37Speaker 1: And that all segues nicely into the next thing that
- 48:40Speaker 1: isn't in these emails that the New York Post reported on,
- 48:43Speaker 1: which is smoking gun proof that Joe Biden knew his
- 48:48Speaker 1: son was doing this. There's none of that. No, Like
- 48:51Speaker 1: there's not a single email from Hunter to his dad
- 48:55Speaker 1: that's like, hey, here's what we're doing with Mauris muff. Yeah.
- 48:58Speaker 1: And I can't imagine it's been because Hunter Biden's too
- 49:01Speaker 1: smart for them, like he fired off all these emails.
- 49:04Speaker 2: Yeah, as we've established, it's just literally the only brains
- 49:08Speaker 2: that he had in his head told him to call
- 49:11Speaker 2: his dad my guy. Yeah, that's it. That's the most
- 49:16Speaker 2: security he had.
- 49:17Speaker 1: Like even if people didn't figure it out, Like if
- 49:21Speaker 1: this came up in an investigation, someone's gonna sit you
- 49:24Speaker 1: down and be like, who the fuck's my guy? Right,
- 49:26Speaker 1: and then he's going to say my dad, and they're
- 49:28Speaker 1: gonna be like, oh sure that makes sense, oh right,
- 49:31Speaker 1: oh okay, yeah yeah yeah yeah. And here's the thing,
- 49:34Speaker 1: it's not that those emails are fake. Those emails are
- 49:36Speaker 1: almost certainly real. There was a book published I think
- 49:41Speaker 1: in twenty twenty one, maybe even this year. It's called
- 49:44Speaker 1: The Bidens Inside the First Famili's fifty year Rise to Power.
- 49:47Speaker 1: It's written by a former Politico reporter, so definitely not
- 49:53Speaker 1: a Trump supporter. Definitely not someone who you if you're
- 49:56Speaker 1: on the right, not someone you're expecting to go hard
- 49:59Speaker 1: r the Biden family. And he did basically say in
- 50:04Speaker 1: this book that those emails are real. Yeah, and I
- 50:07Speaker 1: don't doubt that they're real. The thing is the people
- 50:11Speaker 1: pushing this are being a little impatient. Yeah, Like if
- 50:14Speaker 1: the FBI seized the laptop and still hasn't said anything, Yeah,
- 50:19Speaker 1: there could be something there, for sure.
- 50:21Speaker 2: I mean absolutely. I think people think that things just
- 50:25Speaker 2: move it like a hyper pace right now, because it
- 50:27Speaker 2: seems like things do. But you know, especially with the FBI,
- 50:31Speaker 2: they'll take their sweet time. Yeah, you know, they'll sit
- 50:34Speaker 2: on something if they think they can, you know, use
- 50:36Speaker 2: it to their advantage at any moment. But I don't know.
- 50:39Speaker 2: I just don't understand how this was ever going to
- 50:42Speaker 2: be the scandal that they wanted to be.
- 50:45Speaker 1: Yeah, And another thing about them saying, there's this media
- 50:48Speaker 1: cover up. NBC did an article about what happened when
- 50:52Speaker 1: they tried to cover this, and what happened is they
- 50:55Speaker 1: reached out to Juliani and they were like, well, give
- 50:58Speaker 1: us the hard drive, let us see the driver, give
- 51:00Speaker 1: us a copy of the hard drive, and he was like, no,
- 51:03Speaker 1: but you can come look at what's on it. And
- 51:05Speaker 1: they were like, that doesn't give us the opportunity to
- 51:08Speaker 1: like give this evidence the forensic examination it needs. Yeah,
- 51:13Speaker 1: so that's not going to be enough. And then they said, well,
- 51:16Speaker 1: at least give us the emails, and he was like,
- 51:19Speaker 1: I'll give you some emails. And it's like, well, why
- 51:21Speaker 1: not turn over all the emails? Like what like, if
- 51:25Speaker 1: you're so insistent that the mainstream media should be covering
- 51:29Speaker 1: this when they come to you, just give them the
- 51:31Speaker 1: same information Yeah that John Paul mac Isaac gave you.
- 51:36Speaker 1: It's sim math.
- 51:37Speaker 2: If this is if Yeah, if this is so incriminating,
- 51:40Speaker 2: just just tell it. Like just why why be so
- 51:43Speaker 2: sneaky about it in a weird way and pushy, you know,
- 51:46Speaker 2: just kind of like, hey, we gotta we gotta move
- 51:49Speaker 2: this through. We want to get we want to get
- 51:50Speaker 2: some real charges going at asap. We really want to
- 51:53Speaker 2: we really want to get this done. I don't understand
- 51:56Speaker 2: what the rush is. Yeah, because it's not like Biden
- 51:59Speaker 2: is being particularly effective president.
- 52:02Speaker 1: Yeah, he's not doing himself any favorites.
- 52:05Speaker 2: Yes, So it doesn't seem like, you know, it's gonna
- 52:07Speaker 2: be disastrous, to people on the right if he is
- 52:11Speaker 2: in office for another year or whatever, Yeah, before he
- 52:15Speaker 2: either croaks or is impeached.
- 52:17Speaker 1: And Yeah, just to bring it back to a point
- 52:20Speaker 1: that we talked about early on in this episode, it's
- 52:23Speaker 1: really hard if you're a Trump supporter, it's gonna be
- 52:26Speaker 1: really hard to sell the left on a story about
- 52:30Speaker 1: the president enriching himself to his office. Yeah, that's all
- 52:34Speaker 1: Trump did. And you have to acknowledge that absolutely if
- 52:38Speaker 1: you're one of the people who wanted this scandal to
- 52:41Speaker 1: bring down Joe Biden.
- 52:43Speaker 2: I know who Eric Trump is and I should not
- 52:48Speaker 2: have to know that. No, there's no earthly reason that
- 52:53Speaker 2: a person at my level should ever have to know
- 52:56Speaker 2: that Eric Trump is a person.
- 52:58Speaker 1: You remember how long it took to find out Bill
- 53:00Speaker 1: Clinton had a fuck up brother?
- 53:01Speaker 2: Oh my god, Yes, that took a while. Yeah, they
- 53:05Speaker 2: really kept him secret, they did, and they didn't Trump,
- 53:10Speaker 2: you know, to his credit. I guess it's his whole
- 53:13Speaker 2: appeal has no shame. Yeah, so he's not, you know,
- 53:18Speaker 2: ashamed at all of his fail sons who he hates.
- 53:22Speaker 1: Yeah, And I think if people on the right are
- 53:24Speaker 1: under the impression that the other side wants to shield
- 53:28Speaker 1: the Bidens from this and wouldn't want to see them
- 53:31Speaker 1: face any consequences for this. Ask Al Franken if that's true,
- 53:37Speaker 1: Like Al Franken probably, I mean, I get that Joe
- 53:41Speaker 1: Biden won, but Al Franken probably was the person on
- 53:45Speaker 1: the left that would have handled Trump the best in
- 53:48Speaker 1: a debate.
- 53:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 53:50Speaker 1: Maybe, And there were no qualms about firing that guy.
- 53:54Speaker 1: Like so, if you think people are gonna have a
- 53:58Speaker 1: problem with Hunter Biden into prison or any consequences over this,
- 54:02Speaker 1: that's insane. Yeah, I'd love to see.
- 54:05Speaker 2: It, I don't get I mean, for sure whatever any
- 54:09Speaker 2: like tragedy, not tragedy, I don't want to say that,
- 54:11Speaker 2: but you know, any misfortune that might become him or
- 54:18Speaker 2: his kid, especially this kid in particular. It seems like
- 54:21Speaker 2: a real piece of work. You know. I'm not really
- 54:23Speaker 2: going to be too torn up about it. I might
- 54:28Speaker 2: like barely read the article about it. Yeah, just doesn't
- 54:31Speaker 2: affect me at all.
- 54:33Speaker 1: Yeah, here's I think one of the big differences between
- 54:37Speaker 1: the left and the right, and people on the right
- 54:40Speaker 1: don't want to accept it. But if Joe Biden were
- 54:44Speaker 1: to be let's say, Bill Clinton, if it were proven
- 54:48Speaker 1: that Bill Clinton was engaging in acts of pedophilia with
- 54:54Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein Jeffrey Epstein's island, it was proven, and he
- 54:59Speaker 1: went to prison over people on the right would take
- 55:02Speaker 1: to the streets and cheer, and so would people on
- 55:04Speaker 1: the r Yet absolutely, now, let Trump get arrested for that. Right,
- 55:09Speaker 1: people on the left are going to take to the
- 55:11Speaker 1: streets and cheer. People on the right will burn this
- 55:14Speaker 1: country to the fucking round even if it is definitively
- 55:19Speaker 1: proven that Trump was having sex with children at Jeffrey
- 55:24Speaker 1: Epstein's house. Right, the right would burn this fucking country
- 55:28Speaker 1: to the ground if Trump was arrested for it. Yeah,
- 55:32Speaker 1: and that's a problem.
- 55:34Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a problem. But it's also it's just interesting
- 55:37Speaker 2: how rarely with this fact in mind, which I think
- 55:41Speaker 2: is a fairly common knowledge. I think most people, if
- 55:45Speaker 2: you ask them on the street, like, do you think
- 55:47Speaker 2: that there's some sort of like hypocrisy differential between the
- 55:52Speaker 2: left and the right, I think people would generally agree, Yeah, no,
- 55:55Speaker 2: the left actually absolutely cares more about being hypocrites than
- 55:58Speaker 2: the right.
- 55:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 55:59Speaker 2: But at the same time, the right wing leadership seems
- 56:04Speaker 2: to have no fundamental understanding of this at all. They
- 56:08Speaker 2: never attacked from the left, even though that would be
- 56:11Speaker 2: so effective, especially right now, like if they had attacked
- 56:17Speaker 2: Biden from the left on the crime bills, on like
- 56:22Speaker 2: so much of his history as a senator, Like same
- 56:25Speaker 2: with Harris. If they had gone after her for how
- 56:28Speaker 2: she acted as a prosecutor in California and how she
- 56:31Speaker 2: treated unhoused families, especially in San Francisco, like she that
- 56:35Speaker 2: would be it for her. She would be done. And
- 56:38Speaker 2: like a few people on the left making a fuss
- 56:42Speaker 2: about that, you know, to the average you know, liberal
- 56:46Speaker 2: is just like, oh, they're just bitching and never happy
- 56:48Speaker 2: about anything. But if you know, if enough of a
- 56:51Speaker 2: noise came from it from the right, you know, even
- 56:54Speaker 2: like major Republican leaders, it would make them look better
- 56:58Speaker 2: for a lot of people because they're expressing positive views
- 57:01Speaker 2: on things that matter, and it would totally wreck a
- 57:07Speaker 2: politician's career. And they just seem to either be unable
- 57:11Speaker 2: or unwilling to do that.
- 57:13Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's I mean, I wouldn't say it's unfortunate, No,
- 57:17Speaker 1: it's it's not unfortunate for me.
- 57:19Speaker 2: But it's actually like the lucky it's like the only
- 57:22Speaker 2: lucky thing happening in politics for us right now.
- 57:26Speaker 1: Yeah, because those are the arguments people on the left
- 57:28Speaker 1: were making about Kamala Harrison. Yes, absolutely, and like if
- 57:33Speaker 1: you if you voted for Trump, and your argument is, well,
- 57:36Speaker 1: the left didn't present us with any good options. Understand
- 57:40Speaker 1: most of the left degrees.
- 57:41Speaker 2: Yes, one, we had one good candidate in our last primary,
- 57:48Speaker 2: and we had one okay candidate. Yeah, and that is
- 57:51Speaker 2: basically it. Everybody else was garbage.
- 57:54Speaker 1: Yeah, it just none of that means COVID is fake
- 58:00Speaker 1: fucking the election was raised.
- 58:02Speaker 2: It's this, it's I mean, it's the problem that has
- 58:05Speaker 2: been spiraling out since twenty fifteen and maybe even I
- 58:09Speaker 2: mean earlier. But this, I would say this like failure
- 58:13Speaker 2: of the common idea of reality is more recent than
- 58:19Speaker 2: you know, September eleventh, which is the root cause of
- 58:22Speaker 2: most of the evil shit that's happening right now. Yeah,
- 58:24Speaker 2: but like this whole thing where it's just so often
- 58:27Speaker 2: so many people are like connected to a like a
- 58:30Speaker 2: totally different understanding of how the world works. Right, That
- 58:34Speaker 2: is a difficult way to organize a society. You know,
- 58:38Speaker 2: Like I don't I don't want to have like negative
- 58:42Speaker 2: personal feelings about people who like have a political belief
- 58:47Speaker 2: or whatever. I think it's okay to have differing political
- 58:49Speaker 2: beliefs than me. I differ with people who don't hate
- 58:52Speaker 2: me all the time. They're Democrats. Yeah, But like, it's
- 58:57Speaker 2: just insane that so many people just seem to not
- 59:00Speaker 2: see the world the same way I do, not even
- 59:02Speaker 2: like in that the cliche way, just like in literally
- 59:05Speaker 2: like is the sky purple? Is it?
- 59:07Speaker 1: Like?
- 59:08Speaker 2: I don't understand?
- 59:09Speaker 1: Yeah, And it's it's kind of hit a point on
- 59:13Speaker 1: our side of things where it's not really enough to
- 59:17Speaker 1: be like, well, I don't me and that person don't
- 59:19Speaker 1: talk about politics, right, Like I get they probably have
- 59:23Speaker 1: some shaky politics, but we just fucking don't. You can't
- 59:25Speaker 1: even tell people that anymore. It's like you have to
- 59:28Speaker 1: know people's opinions and react to them. And that's why
- 59:32Speaker 1: I fucking hate social media. I definite don't want to
- 59:35Speaker 1: know people's opinions on everything.
- 59:37Speaker 2: Uh, I definitely agree with that. Not only do I
- 59:39Speaker 2: not want to know, I don't think that we as
- 59:43Speaker 2: a species are capable of containing that kind of information. Yeah,
- 59:48Speaker 2: and that it is kind of breaking our brains, which
- 59:51Speaker 2: is kind of what's happening. I mean, but even more
- 59:54Speaker 2: so like the problem is that so often the politics
- 59:58Speaker 2: that people don't want to discuss are things that are
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: life or death to like a lot of people's immediate lives.
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: And so as a defense mechanism, you have to try
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: to understand what the people around you is political police
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: are because now like a mainstream political belief is just
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: straight fascism. Yes, and that's dangerous.
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: Yeah, it's at the point where we do kind of
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: need to know that's and it sucks, it really does.
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: But like I don't understand, I don't know how we
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: come back from that. I guess.
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: I mean, it's probably gonna take a war or something
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: like there's gonna be some really bloody upheaval in this
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: country that'll fix everything.
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: It's gonna be interesting to see what happens with this
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: Russia thing.
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: Oh yeah, it seems like people are already like the
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: world is already gearing up.
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, like you know, this would probably have
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: to be its own whole episode. But that just, you know,
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: that has a lot of potential in a lot of
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: ways that I feel like, I don't know, it seems
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: it seems both like everybody is just kind of resigned
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: themselves too there's definitely going to be a war or
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: everybody's just like I can't look at it. I don't
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: want to talk about it, I can't think about it.
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: Yeah, we did an episode a couple of years ago
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: about where World War three is most likely to start next,
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: and that was definitely on the list, yes, in that region.
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: And it it feels like we're ready. Yeah, it feels
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: like we as a world are ready for.
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: We want a big war, I mean like the like.
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: But again, this is like just a whole other thing.
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: But what shape does that even look like?
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: Now?
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: Like we just don't even know. Uh, and like China
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: might get involved. I'm not just side. And if that happens,
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: then like we should just not even try to fight.
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: You really shouldn't.
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: It would just cost more pain.
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: And here's the thing, here's my I can't imagine any
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: right wing types are still listening, but if you are,
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: here is then across the Aisle Olive branch that I
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: offer up to people all the time. When it comes
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: to Trump, I think Trump was legitimately anti war or
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: wasn't pro war enough for the Republican establishment.
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: I think it's more accurate to say that he understood
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: war's tool use as a tool of public opinion. Yeah,
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: and was willing to rattle the saber enough to get
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: his side, you know, get their blood red, get their
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: dick's hard, but not enough to actually have to do
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: anything that might make people not like him, right, which
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: is his whole vibe throughout the entire presidencies. I want
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: to do as much crazy shit as I can, but
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: I don't want anybody to not like me.
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: Yeah. I think that's why John Bolton left.
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: I think probably.
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: I think Bolton wanted to go to war with the Iran.
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: That was the vibe that I got, definitely, because that
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: happened right after a bunch of Iran tension.
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: Yeah. And what makes me uncomfortable is I don't feel
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: that from Biden. Well, no, Biden will go to war because.
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: Especially because he has failed conclusively on the home front
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: with COVID just fully, his administration has fully failed to
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: meet that challenge. Yeah, and he needs a big win
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: and he is old, and so he thinks, well, the
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: way you get a big win to go do a
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: little Warren. There's just like a lot of weird shit
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: in the air when it comes to the possible war.
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: But I definitely don't see it not backfiring. Like I
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: don't know in what way it will, but I definitely
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: know getting into any sort of military action, even if
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: we never call anything war anymore because we don't go
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: through the conquerors talking about expanded executive authority. But like,
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: I don't know, there's no way that any sort of
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: aggressive action will not totally blow up in his face. Yeah,
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: because his administration has not shown itself capable of handling
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: mass crises. And that's what a war is, basically an
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: extended mass crisis, just focused.
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: It sure is. Hopefully there's something on his kid's laptop
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: that'll Jesus get us through all this. Yeah, absolutely, Before
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: we wrap it up, I do want to mention one
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: more thing that people are going to howl about if
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: I don't mention it. Yes, the FBI sees a second
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: laptop from Hunter Biden. But here's the thing. It was
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: seized as part of an investigation into a celebrity psychiatrist
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: in New York somewhere on the East Coast who was
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: being investigated for having improper relationships with his patients and
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: over prescribing mental health drugs. Cool and somehow Hunter Biden
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: ended up in that guy's office and forgot his laptop.
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: There no idea what Hunter Biden would be doing at
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: that guy's office, but he left his laptop there. The
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: FBI seized it and they gave that one back to him.
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: I mean, look, I don't think that this is like
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: a huge scandal. It may or may not be a
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: true story. I do think it sounds like a good
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: Cohen Brothers movie. There's a lot of really sure does
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: so any characters going on here?
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: So just a reminder, speaking of the FBI, they still
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: have Hunter Biden's laptop, and so far the only thing
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: they've confirmed, which is interesting is that they haven't found
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: evidence of Russian misinformation. Okay, because that was one of
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: the concerns is that, well, someone could have stolen this
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: laptop from Hunter Biden and put some incriminating shit in
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: there with the real stuff and then drop this thing.
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: But that I know, Russia is great at this stuff.
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: But for this to work, you have who tipped them
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: off to the blind shot. Yeah, that's a good touch
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: because that is a key component to this story.
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: That's huge. Also, I feel like if anyone faked these emails,
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: surely they could fake more incriminating emails. That's always my
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: feeling when there's something like this where it's like, but
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: you still put in like my guy, Like, yeah, this
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: just is sloppy if you're making this up.
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: And the other thing about this scandal, the FBI was
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: already investigating Hunter Biden. Yeah, like they're investigating for him
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: for his dealings in China. So just hold your fucking horses.
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: People on the right, Hunter Biden will go to prison
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: for something obvious.
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: He'll probably go to prison, you know. I like, I
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: would say the odds on Joe Biden finishing his first
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: term in office, regardless of out like what happens, I
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: would say it's less than fifty fifty. It's like a
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: good I would say thirty percent chance to actually happens.
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: And if nothing else, he's not gonna win if he
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: runs in twenty twenty.
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: Definitely not gonna win if he runs, and there's no
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: way he's gonna get anything done other than get us four. Yeah,
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: So I mean I guess you guys win on that too.
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: Yeah, So just relax, fucking let's just all take a
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: few years off and then we'll get back at it
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: in twenty two four.
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: They should just enjoy the republican president. Yeah, and then
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: you know, hope that they can get their you know,
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: toy lunatic in next time.
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: Get a more republican president. So I think that's our episode. Sure,
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: that was This was lots of fun. Thank you again
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: for driving to Los Angeles just to record this.
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: Of course, you know it was a long couple of days.
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: It's gonna be a long drive back.
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: Yeah. I did not sleep. I will not sleep before
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: heading back.
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: Well, I demand that people not.
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: No, of course no, and so it'll I consider the
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: last forty eight hours one day. Sure, but yeah, no,
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: it was tough and but no, I'm happy to be here.
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: This was great.
