- 0:29This place is incredible and we love it.
- 0:33It's got it all. It's got the putt Putt right
- 0:37here, that's the entry to the house.
- 0:40Beautiful swimming pool, hot tub, got a beautiful room with a
- 0:46big old screen TV and a pool table.
- 0:49And of course, you're just right up the hill from Sammy Hagar's
- 0:54cobble wobble. Baby can't drive 55 S.
- 1:02All right, going to do something today that I think is important.
- 1:10I'm going to tell you all about my Big Brother, Rusty Wallace.
- 1:17We've been having a lot of fun with with Rusty, my Big Brother.
- 1:22Oh, here we go. Herman.
- 1:24Going to talk about. Hey, Wallace.
- 1:27Hey Kenny Wallace. Hey, Mike Wallace.
- 1:30Hey, the whole Wallace family. You would have never made it
- 1:34where you're at without your brother Rusty Wallace.
- 1:39That's right. And my friends, today is a
- 1:44tribute is a big thank you to my Big Brother.
- 1:50Now, when I say my Big Brother, that's the people that are
- 1:57envious of me. I would be too.
- 2:01I would be too. My Big Brother, Rusty Wallace,
- 2:05Are you ready? Are you ready 'cause I got a lot
- 2:07to brag on Rusty about my brother Rusty Wallace.
- 2:15When Mike and myself, we were just kids, I mean just babies.
- 2:20I can remember in St. Louis, MO, big tornado warnings
- 2:23coming and we're on, what was that South Broadway?
- 2:27Dad had a race shop, Dad had a race shop, and it was one of
- 2:32those race shops that was like an army shop where it was a
- 2:36round type shop. Actually, Kevin Rumley, who owns
- 2:41Kyle Larson's number Six Dirt Car has one right now.
- 2:45Yeah, up there, up there around Winston Salem, It's got a round
- 2:49roof. So anyway, I remember a big
- 2:52tornado warning coming and Rusty being the Big Brother he is,
- 2:56he's seven years older than me. Rusty is 7 years older than me.
- 3:01And I think what is he four years older than Mike?
- 3:06I think something like that. So the tornado warnings there,
- 3:10sirens are going off. What does Rusty do?
- 3:15He gets Rusty. Rusty gets Mike and myself and
- 3:20puts us in the race car, straps me in the seat, puts Mike there
- 3:26and put whatever helmet their dad had put on me.
- 3:29And then Rusty got in the race car too.
- 3:31Although that sounds funny. Think about it for a minute.
- 3:35Think about it. Rusty's.
- 3:38He's not 16, he's not 16, and we're at the race shop.
- 3:43Nobody's there. It's just us three kids, but by
- 3:47this time, I'm we're children. My God, I had to be, what, 7
- 3:52years old? Maybe Mike, you know, a little
- 3:54bit older. Rusty was smart enough at that
- 3:57age. Tornadoes coming.
- 3:59Oh my God. I get get my brothers in a safe
- 4:01area. Let's put them in the race car.
- 4:03There's a road cage. Put little 1 Kenny in the seat.
- 4:06There's seatbelts for me. I got one helmet.
- 4:08Let's put the helmet on Mike. Or I forgot who was wearing the
- 4:11helmet. That's Rusty Wallace Smart.
- 4:17Always, always fixing everything for the family.
- 4:21That's Rusty. He's the best.
- 4:24Now I've I've teased about Rusty being rough around the edges,
- 4:30and I want to brag on that too. I wish I was more like Rusty
- 4:34because I want everybody to get along my whole life.
- 4:39I, I'm a, I'm a, I'm a mediator. I'm, I'm somebody.
- 4:48I want people to get along. Rusty, he's like Michael Jordan,
- 4:54the great basketball player. Rusty's like, look, I ain't got
- 4:58time for this. You're in my way.
- 5:00I wished I was more like Rusty. Rusty puts up with 0 bullshit.
- 5:05And that, my friends, is why Rusty is a 55 time NASCAR Cup
- 5:11winner, a champion, a Hall of Famer, 1982 ASA champion, IROC
- 5:18champion. Rusty is simply a badass.
- 5:22He puts up with 0 bullshit. He'll put up a zero year
- 5:25bullshit. And you, you go in one of these
- 5:28years or right at the other, I'll take a I'll take a, a word
- 5:33from Jimmy Spencer. I was sitting on the TV set with
- 5:37Jimmy Spencer one day and Spencer looked at me and he
- 5:40goes, I could have never been as tough as your brother and Dale
- 5:45Senior. I looked at Jimmy Spencer.
- 5:47I said, what do you mean, Spence?
- 5:49He goes Rusty and Dale Junior were the two mentally toughest
- 5:55race car drivers I've ever been around.
- 5:58You know when I say you're not going to get me, that's a
- 6:01tribute to Rusty. You not going to ever get Rusty.
- 6:07Usually when I act silly, it's kind of like, you know, when you
- 6:10used to watch Saturday Night Live and you're like where you
- 6:13know, what was it Dana Carvey or whatever his name was?
- 6:16He do the church lady when I do comedy on here and I'm like, you
- 6:22didn't when I do all that stuff. That's that is something that
- 6:26I've seen that I'm doing. So when I do the deal, you're
- 6:31not going to get me. That's from Rusty.
- 6:35Strong as strong, Rusty Wallace. See that boulder?
- 6:43Rusty's stronger than that boulder.
- 6:45My Big Brother my whole life. I tell my family, I say, listen,
- 6:51you owe our whole life to my brother Rusty.
- 6:56I'm so thankful to have somebody like Rusty that it's ridiculous.
- 7:00I'm proud to brag on my brother. The Wallace family is where
- 7:05we're at because of Rusty, but Michael Andretti is where he's
- 7:12at because of Mario. Dale Junior is where he's at
- 7:15because of Dale Senior. It goes on and on.
- 7:20Bobby Labonte is where he's at because of Big Bob and Terry.
- 7:24It's family. I suppose that's where Hank came
- 7:29up with Hank. What do you drink, Hank?
- 7:35Why do you roll smoke? Why must you live out the songs
- 7:42that you wrote? That song's about his dad.
- 7:45Although it's a catchy song, Listen to the words.
- 7:49Listen to the words. Forget about me singing that
- 7:52song so I can go on and on about Rusty when it came to this place
- 8:00down here. Herman, you need to go to my
- 8:03place in Kabul. Really.
- 8:05What's that about? Brother had no idea he was doing
- 8:07this deal down here. It's kind of like when he
- 8:09retired from race And he, I mean, Rusty's done a lot of
- 8:12things that have surprised me. Happily.
- 8:16Rusty's happily surprised me. He golfs now.
- 8:21But I want to end like this with Big Brother Rusty.
- 8:23And listen, I can tell you a lot more stories about Rusty, But
- 8:26one thing he does right now, and I tell you, I'm just going to
- 8:30tell you what he told me. NASCAR called Rusty.
- 8:34Betty Jane France. I reckon it was one day.
- 8:37I said Rusty. I said, you've been so tough, so
- 8:40hardcore your whole life. You give away so much money.
- 8:44You do so many fundraisers. He said, yeah, Betty Jane called
- 8:48me up, said, hey, now that you're not racing, you want to
- 8:50help the NASCAR Foundation out. I cannot tell you how many
- 8:55millions of dollars Rusty Wallace has raised in charity.
- 9:03So that reminds me, didn't even think of this, but it's a
- 9:09thought right now in August, we're all going to Sturgis and
- 9:13Brick Big Brother Rusty going to have his his charity ride on
- 9:17Friday. Check it out.
- 9:20He's raising money again. And the money goes to NASCAR
- 9:24Foundation and it goes to the local Sturgis, Spearfish Canyon,
- 9:28usually always helping out people that need it.
- 9:31We're going to raise money and we're going to give it to people
- 9:34that need it. That's my Big Brother, Rusty.
- 9:39I think I've told you some things that you don't know about
- 9:42Rusty today. I've always bragged on him.
- 9:46I don't think you ever heard about how smart he is, how he
- 9:49put me and Mike in that race car when we were children.
- 9:53I I don't think I ever told you how what Spencer said to me, but
- 10:00my wife always said you're too nice, Kenny.
- 10:04I said damn, and I know. But then Don Pradom looked at me
- 10:07and he said you can't change your Kenny Wallace.
- 10:14God knows I'd like to be like Rusty.
- 10:16I'll tell you that. That's some bitch that's got it
- 10:19all. He owns his damn house.
- 10:21All right, everybody, I can talk a lot more about Big Brother
- 10:24Rusty, but he will give you shirt right off his back.
- 10:32A boy in his competitive days, if he was in his way, you needed
- 10:38to get out of the way. Love you brother.
- 10:44Love you, Rusty, love you so much.
- 10:46Thank you for giving our whole family the whole Wallace family.
- 10:51We're we're basically following in your footsteps and it's true
- 10:56when you know, when you're you're feeling like this.
- 10:59That was me on your coattails, baby.
- 11:02Look at there Gio in the house. Giovanni.
- 11:07I love you, Gio. I'll end like this.
- 11:11Gio loves his job. He said he he he says I love
- 11:13working for Rusty. I said, well, Gio, what do I
- 11:16call you call me a Butler. He said that he's thrilled to
- 11:23death and be Rusty Wallace's Butler.
- 11:26He said during COVID, Rusty took care of us, he paid us the same.
- 11:32That's Rusty Wallace.
