- 0:01Speaker 1: All right, coming to you live from out to Monte Springs, Florida.
- 0:03Speaker 1: This is the Ember Show. Your host, Ember. First and foremost,
- 0:07Speaker 1: let's get into prayer. Lord, Father, that art in heaven,
- 0:09Speaker 1: I come to you in prayer to be able to
- 0:11Speaker 1: have the Holy Spirit be able to speak through this
- 0:13Speaker 1: mic and be able to go through the listeners' ears
- 0:16Speaker 1: and be able to reach their hearts and their minds
- 0:18Speaker 1: and be able to apply these verses to their lives.
- 0:21Speaker 1: In the Lord Jesus Christ's name, I pray. Amen. And
- 0:25Speaker 1: I'm one of the listeners to this Bible study. has
- 0:29Speaker 1: helped me out dramatically in the last six months. And
- 0:33Speaker 1: I've done it before, before I started recovery, just not consistently.
- 0:38Speaker 1: And that's something, you know, we're going to be covering
- 0:43Speaker 1: Mark chapter 8 and then chapter 9 in the next episode.
- 0:48Speaker 1: But there will be a lot of other things that
- 0:50Speaker 1: will be thrown in as well with recovery and faith.
- 0:53Speaker 1: They kind of go hand in hand. So if you
- 0:55Speaker 1: want to grab your Bibles or get on your Bible
- 0:57Speaker 1: app and read along as you hear along, I highly
- 1:01Speaker 1: encourage that. And Mark chapter 8, and it is titled,
- 1:08Speaker 1: let's see, let's see, let's see. Jesus gives food to
- 1:16Speaker 1: a crowd of 4,000 people. Mark chapter 8 verse 1 states,
- 1:22Speaker 1: At that time another large crowd had come to hear Jesus.
- 1:27Speaker 1: The people had nothing to eat. Jesus asked his disciples
- 1:31Speaker 1: to come to him. He said to them, I feel
- 1:34Speaker 1: sorry for the crowd. They have been here with me
- 1:38Speaker 1: now for three days and they do not have any food.
- 1:43Speaker 1: I do not want to send them back to their
- 1:45Speaker 1: homes while they are hungry. They might fall down during
- 1:50Speaker 1: their journey because they are weak. Some of them have
- 1:54Speaker 1: traveled a long way to come here. Now we're talking
- 2:00Speaker 1: about Mark chapter 8, verse 1 through 3. How Jesus
- 2:06Speaker 1: had so much compassion for those that he was speaking to.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Not only did he spend three days talking to them,
- 2:17Speaker 1: not only educating them, but also giving them hope, giving
- 2:23Speaker 1: them access to His Father, right? By having the presence
- 2:33Speaker 1: of the Holy Spirit in front of them. I can
- 2:37Speaker 1: only imagine how that had to feel for these people, right?
- 2:43Speaker 1: That they would stick around for three days. to listen
- 2:48Speaker 1: to another human being. How many of us go to
- 2:54Speaker 1: church or have gone to church or any kind of
- 2:58Speaker 1: organization or program where, oh, can't wait till this is over.
- 3:02Speaker 1: I can't, already thinking about what we're going to do,
- 3:07Speaker 1: what we're going to eat before we even leave. And
- 3:13Speaker 1: these people, for three days, Didn't eat, didn't drink. But
- 3:20Speaker 1: listen to Jesus. He must have been saying some really
- 3:25Speaker 1: profound things that they needed. Not that food or water
- 3:32Speaker 1: could quench. But their souls, amen. So the disciples said,
- 3:37Speaker 1: this place is far from any houses. We cannot get
- 3:42Speaker 1: enough bread to feed all these people. Jesus asked, How
- 3:46Speaker 1: many loaves of bread do you have? They replied, We
- 3:50Speaker 1: have seven loaves. Jesus told the crowd that they should
- 3:55Speaker 1: sit down on the ground. Then he took the seven
- 3:58Speaker 1: loaves in his hand and he thanked God for them.
- 4:02Speaker 1: We're talking about his father. Then he broke the bread
- 4:06Speaker 1: and he gave the pieces to his disciples. The disciples
- 4:10Speaker 1: gave the bread to the people. The disciples also had
- 4:16Speaker 1: a few small fish. So Jesus thanked God for these.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Then he told his disciples to give the fish to
- 4:26Speaker 1: the people too. The people ate and they all had
- 4:30Speaker 1: enough food. After the people had eaten, there were still
- 4:35Speaker 1: lots of small pieces of food. Jesus' disciples filled seven bowls.
- 4:43Speaker 1: baskets with these pieces. About 4,000 people were there and
- 4:50Speaker 1: ate the food. Then Jesus sent them, sent the people away.
- 4:57Speaker 1: So not only did Jesus deliver a message, but he
- 5:05Speaker 1: also fed them nutrients so they could get back What
- 5:16Speaker 1: can we obtain from these verses, Spirit? What can we
- 5:23Speaker 1: do in our times of trying to be like Jesus, right?
- 5:35Speaker 1: Being able to feed the masses. Not only Did Jesus
- 5:45Speaker 1: have that giving heart? It doesn't say anywhere in this
- 5:56Speaker 1: that they said thank you. Jesus didn't need a thank you.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Jesus had an assignment to do. But I can only
- 6:07Speaker 1: wonder how satisfied these people must have really been To
- 6:14Speaker 1: be in not only the presence of Jesus, but to
- 6:16Speaker 1: witness a miracle. Seven loaves of bread. Just a few fish.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Multiplies it. And 4,000 people not only get fed. But
- 6:36Speaker 1: there's leftovers at the end. Amen. Glory to God. And
- 6:42Speaker 1: I should have said glory to God, then amen. But
- 6:45Speaker 1: here's the thing I want to talk about as well.
- 6:47Speaker 1: All right, spirit. There's no wrong or right way to pray.
- 6:55Speaker 1: There's no wrong or right way to read the Bible.
- 6:58Speaker 1: There's no wrong or right way to attend church. Come
- 7:06Speaker 1: as you are. Don't follow Other believers. Oh, let me
- 7:15Speaker 1: go deep. Oh, I feel this. The only person that
- 7:18Speaker 1: you should be following instructions from is Jesus. And how
- 7:23Speaker 1: do we find out what Jesus wants to do in
- 7:25Speaker 1: our lives? We get into the Bible. We can apply
- 7:29Speaker 1: these verses to our lives. This is a basic instructions
- 7:35Speaker 1: before leaving earth. Let me rephrase that again and say
- 7:41Speaker 1: it again. This is a basic instructions before leaving earth manual.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Not only does the repetitiveness of how the Bible repeats itself.
- 8:01Speaker 1: There's a reason why we need to repeat things. How
- 8:05Speaker 1: do you get better at doing something? You continue to
- 8:09Speaker 1: repeat it. You might not be good at it at first.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Then you start to practice more, practice more. Then you
- 8:15Speaker 1: start getting intermediate. Then keep doing it, keep doing it.
- 8:20Speaker 1: You become an expert. Consistency is key though, right? But
- 8:27Speaker 1: when we're getting into verse 10, immediately he got into
- 8:32Speaker 1: the boat with his disciples. They all returned to the
- 8:35Speaker 1: region of Dalai Monata. The Pharisees, Want Jesus to do
- 8:41Speaker 1: a miracle. Here we go. Talking about the religious leaders, right?
- 8:45Speaker 1: We're talking about how, before I even get into the verse,
- 8:50Speaker 1: we're already talking about religious leaders. That's what the Pharisees were,
- 8:56Speaker 1: the priests, right? How many people, places, or things want
- 9:06Speaker 1: to see you performed? Now we're talking about a miracle.
- 9:10Speaker 1: It's almost like a performance, right? We're seeing something be done.
- 9:17Speaker 1: How much does the church want to see you give?
- 9:21Speaker 1: How much does your job want you to work overtime?
- 9:27Speaker 1: How much does your loved ones want you to work
- 9:30Speaker 1: harder but give more time and give more and give
- 9:34Speaker 1: more and give more? We can be able to give
- 9:40Speaker 1: in that capacity when we have the Spirit of God
- 9:44Speaker 1: in us, multiplying not only our finances, because everybody thinks
- 9:53Speaker 1: just because you follow Jesus that you're going to be poor,
- 9:58Speaker 1: or you have to like it says in the Bible,
- 10:01Speaker 1: sell everything and follow me is what it says. But
- 10:08Speaker 1: when it really means what it's really referring to in
- 10:15Speaker 1: my perspective is selling... Everything that you hang on to.
- 10:22Speaker 1: We're not just talking about your finance. If anything, you
- 10:26Speaker 1: conserve that. Make that a security. But we're talking about
- 10:32Speaker 1: sell everything. The material things that don't get used. We're
- 10:39Speaker 1: talking about sell your depression. How can that happen? It
- 10:45Speaker 1: can happen. Sell your misery. Give it all to God.
- 10:50Speaker 1: By following his son. By allowing the Holy Spirit in.
- 10:54Speaker 1: And to ring. And to win. God has plans for
- 11:01Speaker 1: us to prosper. We just have to align with him.
- 11:04Speaker 1: If we don't and think that we can do it
- 11:06Speaker 1: our own way. Or do it a program's way. Or
- 11:09Speaker 1: do it this way. Or do it this way. There's
- 11:12Speaker 1: more than one way. But there is only one way.
- 11:15Speaker 1: To really do it perfect. And that is by following
- 11:19Speaker 1: Jesus Christ. And as I continue. To not only. Become
- 11:26Speaker 1: a greater person. I will never be perfect. But for
- 11:31Speaker 1: me to have the ability. To be able to speak
- 11:35Speaker 1: about somebody that was perfect. Is my purpose. And it
- 11:44Speaker 1: can be yours too. The message is the mission. The
- 11:51Speaker 1: message is the purpose. However you want to apply it.
- 11:55Speaker 1: Some Pharisees came to Jesus. They began to argue with him.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Just like your boss, right? Just like certain people. They
- 12:04Speaker 1: want to argue. They want to stir you up. It's
- 12:07Speaker 1: the spirit and the spirits that are doing that now.
- 12:11Speaker 1: They wanted to see him do a miracle. They would
- 12:14Speaker 1: show them that God had really sent him. Jesus cried
- 12:20Speaker 1: with a low, sad sound. He said, people who are
- 12:23Speaker 1: alive today want God to show them something powerful. But
- 12:27Speaker 1: I tell you, this, God will not do the powerful
- 12:32Speaker 1: things for them that they want. It's not God's will.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Everybody wants to see a miracle. Everybody wants to see
- 12:42Speaker 1: things go their way. Everybody wants, wants, wants, wants. We
- 12:47Speaker 1: don't focus on the needs, right? That our soul needs. Amen.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Let me go deeper. Then Jesus left those Pharisees. He
- 12:55Speaker 1: got back into the boat to go to the other
- 12:58Speaker 1: side of the lake. We're going to close out right here.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Jesus warns about the Pharisees and about Herod. Jesus' disciples
- 13:10Speaker 1: had forgotten to take bread with them. They only had
- 13:13Speaker 1: one loaf in the boat. Jesus said to them, Be careful.
- 13:18Speaker 1: Do not accept the yeast of the Pharisees or the
- 13:22Speaker 1: yeast of Herod. The disciples began to say to each other,
- 13:27Speaker 1: Jesus is saying that because we do not have any bread.
- 13:32Speaker 1: Jesus knew what they were talking about. So he said
- 13:37Speaker 1: to them, You should not be arguing about the bread.
- 13:41Speaker 1: You still do not understand my teaching. You seem unable
- 13:46Speaker 1: to learn. You are like people who have eyes, but
- 13:51Speaker 1: they cannot see with them. You are like people who
- 13:54Speaker 1: have ears, but they cannot hear with them. Remember that
- 14:00Speaker 1: I used five loaves of bread to feed 5,000 men.
- 14:05Speaker 1: How many baskets did you fill with pieces of food
- 14:08Speaker 1: that were left? They replied, There was twelve baskets. Let's
- 14:15Speaker 1: go ahead and close out right there. I'm only thirty seconds.
- 14:24Speaker 1: And we're going to go into Mark chapter nine. And
- 14:27Speaker 1: I just want to thank you, the listener, for pressing
- 14:29Speaker 1: play from wherever you're from. I am from Florida. And
- 14:35Speaker 1: born and raised. And I'm very grateful that I have
- 14:39Speaker 1: the ability to be able to allow the Holy Spirit
- 14:41Speaker 1: to speak with you this afternoon, evening, or morning. And
- 14:45Speaker 1: just keep coming back. Because the episodes are going to
- 14:48Speaker 1: get better. And The Ember Show is only growing. So
- 14:52Speaker 1: I hope to continue to be able to do this.
- 14:57Speaker 1: So thank you for listening. The Ember Show.
