- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an Unspoiled Network podcast. This is spoil Me,
- 0:09Speaker 1: covering one piece episodes six eighty eight through six point
- 0:13Speaker 1: ninety A desperate situation, Loofy gets caught in a trap,
- 0:18Speaker 1: a great escape, Loofy's tide turning elephant gun, and a
- 0:23Speaker 1: united front Loofy's breakthrough to the victory. In these episodes,
- 0:31Speaker 1: we have got some absolute A plus progress happening in
- 0:36Speaker 1: this plot. I am so pleased, I genuinely am, you guys,
- 0:41Speaker 1: with how this is all unfolding. It's really kind of,
- 0:47Speaker 1: in a lot of ways, just what I have wanted
- 0:49Speaker 1: in many of the other arcs that we have watched. Delighted,
- 0:55Speaker 1: Welcome to spoil Me, Welcome to the show everyone. I
- 1:16Speaker 1: am Natasha. Thank you very much to Florian for commissioning
- 1:20Speaker 1: this episode. So, you guys, when I tell you how
- 1:27Speaker 1: happy I am about this, there's a lot of reasons
- 1:30Speaker 1: for it. Part of it is just the fact that
- 1:34Speaker 1: we're sort of taking our time in certain ways that
- 1:38Speaker 1: I think matter.
- 1:39Speaker 2: More So when I say that, what.
- 1:42Speaker 1: I'm really thinking of is the development of the people
- 1:48Speaker 1: in the town working together, and the guys who all
- 1:53Speaker 1: were like very fixated on each taking down do Flamingo
- 1:57Speaker 1: themselves also working together. I I think that this could
- 2:04Speaker 1: very easily have been a.
- 2:09Speaker 2: We have seen in the past.
- 2:12Speaker 1: That certain things will get really really drawn out and
- 2:17Speaker 1: then other things sort of just seemed to change and
- 2:21Speaker 1: shift overnight. One episode, everybody is feeling this way, and
- 2:25Speaker 1: then another episode it's like everybody has suddenly come to
- 2:29Speaker 1: an agreement. We are all on a like totally we
- 2:33Speaker 1: have decided something else. And there was a little bit
- 2:37Speaker 1: of that I won't lie with the whole, like deciding
- 2:42Speaker 1: to turn on Oosop in order to get the bounty
- 2:45Speaker 1: from Do Flamingo. But this time, the thing that I
- 2:50Speaker 1: was really pleased about was the couple of moments. And
- 2:54Speaker 1: I will like start at the beginning of this trio
- 2:56Speaker 1: of episodes, I promise, But for right now, what I
- 3:01Speaker 1: was really like kind of drawn in by was seeing
- 3:05Speaker 1: the townsfolk come together to stop the ones that are
- 3:10Speaker 1: like about to kill their own families. The one dude
- 3:14Speaker 1: who he is about to attack his wife and he
- 3:17Speaker 1: tells her to run.
- 3:19Speaker 2: She does run.
- 3:21Speaker 1: But the way that No Flamingo is like handling this
- 3:25Speaker 1: is he's making this guy turn and continue to aim
- 3:29Speaker 1: at her as she's running away. In a pretty like
- 3:33Speaker 1: grim fucking way. I must say, that was brutal. And
- 3:39Speaker 1: this guy gets tackled by a bunch of other townsfolk
- 3:43Speaker 1: who are here trying to help him, and I was
- 3:49Speaker 1: just so pleased at getting to see the beginnings of
- 3:54Speaker 1: people organizing and working together.
- 3:58Speaker 2: I just.
- 4:00Speaker 1: I didn't even really stop and consider this as something
- 4:04Speaker 1: that I wanted so desperately. I am not trying to
- 4:09Speaker 1: pretend that I was sitting here going, you know what
- 4:11Speaker 1: this story needs, because that would be a lie. I
- 4:14Speaker 1: would not be being fully honest with you all. But
- 4:17Speaker 1: once I was given it, that was when I really
- 4:21Speaker 1: had a moment of like, oh, yeah, this is what
- 4:25Speaker 1: I wanted. I needed there to be a sense of
- 4:29Speaker 1: unity amongst all of these people. I think that was
- 4:32Speaker 1: what bummed me out so much about everybody deciding to
- 4:37Speaker 1: turn on oosup was that they've all been played. You know,
- 4:42Speaker 1: every single person has been like fucking fell for the
- 4:46Speaker 1: okie doke, and I was just kind of devastated at
- 4:51Speaker 1: the fact that it seemed like nobody really was seeming
- 4:55Speaker 1: to like see that and wanting to band together in
- 4:59Speaker 1: order to to.
- 5:02Speaker 2: Like take this.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Guy down him dividing and conquering seemed to work really
- 5:10Speaker 1: really well, really really quickly. And you know, I already
- 5:16Speaker 1: talked about how I was drawing a lot of parallels
- 5:20Speaker 1: between what was happening with them being divided and what's
- 5:24Speaker 1: happening in our country right now. And I want to
- 5:28Speaker 1: be very clear when I talk about us being divided,
- 5:32Speaker 1: I really don't want anybody to think that what I'm
- 5:36Speaker 1: saying is we shouldn't be divided, like in terms of
- 5:41Speaker 1: people's beliefs. I think that when people are extremely bigoted
- 5:47Speaker 1: and wish harm on a whole segment of the population,
- 5:50Speaker 1: then we should be divided. For everybody's health and safety,
- 5:55Speaker 1: we should be divided. But what I crave is for
- 6:00Speaker 1: us to be working together. I want for everybody to
- 6:05Speaker 1: see how we've been played, and I want everybody to
- 6:11Speaker 1: like begin to understand that segments of the population are
- 6:18Speaker 1: being pitted against each other on purpose as a distraction.
- 6:23Speaker 2: And it really I think.
- 6:25Speaker 1: That's why this spoke to me so much, was because
- 6:30Speaker 1: I just am longing for this kind of togetherness of purpose.
- 6:38Speaker 1: I want everybody to be on the same page and
- 6:44Speaker 1: prioritizing looking out for one another and seeing the fact
- 6:49Speaker 1: that like we are being used, we are being toyed with,
- 6:54Speaker 1: and for all of us to successfully, like just use
- 7:01Speaker 1: the sheer numbers that we have on our side to
- 7:06Speaker 1: handle our situation, because we are actually in a pretty
- 7:11Speaker 1: good position for defending ourselves, for defending our friends, for
- 7:17Speaker 1: taking down an establishment that isn't here to help us.
- 7:22Speaker 1: And I think that's just part of what was like
- 7:27Speaker 1: almost moving about this part was this moment where the
- 7:33Speaker 1: guys are like helping the one that is being controlled
- 7:39Speaker 1: to fight his wife, but also the guy who is
- 7:44Speaker 1: about to fire on Kiros. There's a sharpshooter who is
- 7:49Speaker 1: in this like he's on the top of the sort
- 7:51Speaker 1: of overpass or a bridge or something and he's about
- 7:55Speaker 1: to take a shot. It's done really well too. I
- 7:57Speaker 1: liked how this was set up where Kiro is running
- 8:01Speaker 1: and the guy is like, ah, finally in my bounty.
- 8:04Speaker 1: He's right there, and he starts to sort of zoom
- 8:07Speaker 1: in the cameras zooming in on Kiros, and you hear
- 8:11Speaker 1: the shot, and of course from hearing that, you very
- 8:14Speaker 1: much assume, oh no, the dude just shot at him.
- 8:20Speaker 1: And then it's a second later that you're like, Butkiros
- 8:22Speaker 1: isn't acting like he's been shot, you know, like there's
- 8:25Speaker 1: a moment of just sort of hold on, wait, what's
- 8:28Speaker 1: happening here? And it turns out that there is an
- 8:32Speaker 1: old man who has just jumped this guy from behind
- 8:36Speaker 1: after seeing that he is like trying to go after Kiros.
- 8:41Speaker 2: And it's just.
- 8:42Speaker 1: Some old dude like just jumping in there because he
- 8:47Speaker 1: saw something and he decided to fucking do something.
- 8:51Speaker 2: And it was it was fucking.
- 8:54Speaker 1: Straight up heartwarming, you guys, It really was.
- 8:58Speaker 2: I was.
- 8:59Speaker 1: I was so taken by surprise at how moved I
- 9:05Speaker 1: was by this. I really loved it. And you know, granted,
- 9:10Speaker 1: this guy afterward, when he's finally got the chance to
- 9:13Speaker 1: talk to Kiros, says to him, can will you please
- 9:17Speaker 1: just turn yourself in, like you could make this all stop?
- 9:22Speaker 2: And that did suck a little.
- 9:24Speaker 1: Bit because I don't feel like Kiros should be the
- 9:27Speaker 1: one held responsible for everything that's happening.
- 9:30Speaker 2: Like there's a part of me.
- 9:32Speaker 1: That's frustrated at this even being asked of him, you know,
- 9:38Speaker 1: but I also appreciated that this guy isn't just going
- 9:43Speaker 1: after Kiros. He is trying to reason with him, trying
- 9:47Speaker 1: to explain this is the situation that I am in
- 9:52Speaker 1: and you could help, You could make it so that
- 9:56Speaker 1: everything is like stops.
- 9:58Speaker 2: Have you thought about what.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Regular people are going through right now? And I always
- 10:05Speaker 1: respect when folks are just willing to have an actual conversation.
- 10:09Speaker 1: It's rare, Honestly, it's too rare. And I appreciated just
- 10:17Speaker 1: all of these little moments of everybody starting to like
- 10:21Speaker 1: step back and understand the situation. And then you get
- 10:25Speaker 1: at the very end of the third episode, you really
- 10:30Speaker 1: get like the culmination of this where even all of
- 10:33Speaker 1: the guys who wanted to take down do Flamingo themselves,
- 10:39Speaker 1: they all stop doing something that's ultimately just straight up selfish,
- 10:46Speaker 1: and they decide that they are going to try and
- 10:49Speaker 1: work together because that's the only way we're all going
- 10:52Speaker 1: to get through this, and it just everybody is finally
- 10:57Speaker 1: starting to turn a corner. And you know, I say
- 11:00Speaker 1: that this sort of thing, the way that it's being
- 11:03Speaker 1: handled is something that I really like. It's just things
- 11:06Speaker 1: like this where I feel like the the culmination of
- 11:17Speaker 1: them fighting against each other and then slowly turning. I
- 11:24Speaker 1: thought that it was well illustrated. It doesn't always feel
- 11:29Speaker 1: like it's done in a way that is ultimately believable.
- 11:37Speaker 1: But I couldn't help but think like this time around,
- 11:41Speaker 1: even though we don't really see the development of the
- 11:47Speaker 1: fighters from the arena like starting to all come around
- 11:52Speaker 1: on this, I still felt like thematically because you see
- 11:56Speaker 1: the townsfolk starting to work together, that it's still worked
- 12:00Speaker 1: and made sense and just overall it was I was
- 12:07Speaker 1: just pleasantly surprised at how well this all hung together,
- 12:13Speaker 1: because a lot of times when we are in these arcs,
- 12:17Speaker 1: you guys know this, you understand this, I think already,
- 12:20Speaker 1: But a lot of times I will have some difficulty with,
- 12:25Speaker 1: like the moving away from our main people. It will
- 12:31Speaker 1: start to get frustrating because I don't care about a
- 12:34Speaker 1: lot of the side characters and stuff very much, and
- 12:38Speaker 1: I will feel like the way that people are behaving
- 12:43Speaker 1: as far as like just townsfolk, there will be a
- 12:46Speaker 1: sort of sense of we're making them all be either
- 12:53Speaker 1: all everybody is like so unreasonable and brutal that it's
- 12:58Speaker 1: unpleasant to watch, or it will be that like everybody
- 13:03Speaker 1: does this heel turn and immediately they are all great, good,
- 13:07Speaker 1: perfect people and they're all trying their best, and there's
- 13:10Speaker 1: like one person who's sort of the outlier and everybody
- 13:12Speaker 1: turns on that one guy, and either way they both
- 13:16Speaker 1: just feel a little bit unbelievable. And I just thought
- 13:20Speaker 1: that this was paced quite well with it looking like
- 13:24Speaker 1: everybody is turning on each other, and then eventually we
- 13:28Speaker 1: do get to a point where it's clear that, like
- 13:32Speaker 1: we have begun to organize a little bit. There's a
- 13:36Speaker 1: feeling more of like the chaos of all of what's
- 13:42Speaker 1: been going on has made it so that it's difficult
- 13:46Speaker 1: for everybody to immediately group up together and have one
- 13:49Speaker 1: another's backs. But once people are starting to get a
- 13:54Speaker 1: sense of the way they've been manipulated and they've had
- 13:57Speaker 1: some time to sit with that a little bit more,
- 14:00Speaker 1: it really just felt more for me like, Okay, now
- 14:05Speaker 1: we're seeing the culmination of this, everybody finally starting to
- 14:14Speaker 1: to settle, talk to each other and come up with
- 14:18Speaker 1: a strategy here, and I just really liked it. So
- 14:21Speaker 1: I just wanted to start things off talking about that.
- 14:24Speaker 1: I was just so pleasantly surprised overall by this like
- 14:31Speaker 1: section of the arc, because you know, I was a
- 14:34Speaker 1: little bit and I'm not trying to blame anybody, but
- 14:36Speaker 1: like when you hear that a certain arc is like
- 14:43Speaker 1: longer than any of the others, and that maybe some
- 14:46Speaker 1: people were frustrated by that. I can't help but be
- 14:50Speaker 1: a little bit like concerned and think, oh, no, is
- 14:57Speaker 1: it going to be really really tiresome, and I'll begin
- 15:01Speaker 1: to sort of expect the worst. And I really again
- 15:05Speaker 1: want to emphasize that I'm not saying expect the worst,
- 15:07Speaker 1: like I want to blame anybody for this, but it's
- 15:10Speaker 1: more like almost I think it has set me up
- 15:15Speaker 1: well where I am in a place that I was
- 15:19Speaker 1: sort of expecting there to be a a dragging out
- 15:25Speaker 1: that I haven't yet seen. That's not to say that
- 15:28Speaker 1: it won't eventually happen, and there may be a point
- 15:31Speaker 1: where I reach it and I'm like, oh no, okay,
- 15:35Speaker 1: so here is the slowdown where everybody you know. But
- 15:40Speaker 1: for right now, I do think that lowering my expectations
- 15:45Speaker 1: and being a little bit worried has just made it
- 15:49Speaker 1: more enjoyable because it turns out that things have worked
- 15:53Speaker 1: out a lot better, and the storytelling pacing overall for
- 15:57Speaker 1: this arc has been really good. It's just like kind
- 16:01Speaker 1: of shockingly so, and I just keep being pleasantly surprised
- 16:08Speaker 1: by that.
- 16:09Speaker 2: And also.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Despite the fact that there are a lot of characters
- 16:14Speaker 1: that we really haven't seen very much from because they
- 16:18Speaker 1: have been cut out of this particular part.
- 16:20Speaker 2: Of the arc.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Every time that I notice that we haven't seen them
- 16:26Speaker 1: a lot of times, you know, the show specializes in
- 16:31Speaker 1: splitting up the party, and that's completely valid and understandable
- 16:37Speaker 1: as a plot device, but there will be times where
- 16:40Speaker 1: I will sort of kind of step back and be like, Okay,
- 16:43Speaker 1: why does everything feel like it's slowing down? Oh, it's
- 16:47Speaker 1: because we haven't seen some of my favorite people. That's
- 16:51Speaker 1: what's going on here. And in this I have actually
- 16:56Speaker 1: been like, oh, we haven't seen so and so in.
- 16:58Speaker 2: A while, Huh, where are they?
- 17:01Speaker 1: What are they up to, instead of me going, oh,
- 17:04Speaker 1: we haven't seen so and so. That's why everything feels
- 17:07Speaker 1: like it's come to a screeching halt.
- 17:09Speaker 2: So it's made me.
- 17:10Speaker 1: Feel less like we're misusing our characters or we're like
- 17:16Speaker 1: sort of wasting time on things that when I would
- 17:20Speaker 1: rather be watching something else, and instead I'm genuinely engrossed
- 17:24Speaker 1: enough in what's actually happening to not notice that we
- 17:29Speaker 1: haven't checked in with the others for a while. And
- 17:33Speaker 1: once I recall I'm like, oh, yeah, that's a whole
- 17:37Speaker 1: other story is going on, especially because you guys know
- 17:41Speaker 1: how much I love Brooke specifically. One would really think
- 17:46Speaker 1: that Brooke would be the particular that I'd stop and go,
- 17:50Speaker 1: where is my guy? Why are we not seeing him?
- 17:53Speaker 1: What are we doing? You know? And so the fact
- 17:56Speaker 1: that I have been pretty much unconscious of the fact
- 18:00Speaker 1: that Brooke isn't here, I think that's like pretty impressive.
- 18:08Speaker 1: So anyway, all right, I talked a lot about the
- 18:12Speaker 1: section in general, so let's talk about Let's talk first
- 18:16Speaker 1: about Loofy gets caught in a trap. Oh and by
- 18:19Speaker 1: the way, there's a new theme song at the start
- 18:21Speaker 1: of the trio of episodes, which I was surprised Excuse me,
- 18:24Speaker 1: I was surprised by because it seems to me mostly
- 18:29Speaker 1: we've had a new theme song when there's the start
- 18:32Speaker 1: of a new arc, but we're still in the same arc,
- 18:35Speaker 1: and we still got a new theme song. So I
- 18:38Speaker 1: either they changed it up from what they normally do,
- 18:42Speaker 1: or I just sort of misunderstood how often that really happens,
- 18:45Speaker 1: and that it you know, I was thinking of it wrong.
- 18:49Speaker 1: But I do actually quite like this new theme song.
- 18:53Speaker 1: The last one was okay. I wasn't too it was fine,
- 18:57Speaker 1: But I think this new one really really like it's
- 19:01Speaker 1: almost sad whenever I like a theme song too much
- 19:04Speaker 1: because I am aware it's gonna go away eventually, and
- 19:07Speaker 1: so I'm like, I.
- 19:07Speaker 2: Can't get attached. I can't like it too much.
- 19:12Speaker 1: So only this this Loofy falls into a trap. It's
- 19:18Speaker 1: a pretty good bit actually, because he is being promised
- 19:24Speaker 1: a shortcut up to the plateau to the flower field,
- 19:28Speaker 1: and he h the way that this guy plays it
- 19:37Speaker 1: a lot of times. I don't know if this is
- 19:39Speaker 1: just an improvement in the writing overall, or if it's
- 19:43Speaker 1: just the way that I watched in the past and
- 19:49Speaker 1: had like less forgiveness for a thing. I don't know,
- 19:53Speaker 1: but I felt like there have been so many times
- 19:57Speaker 1: where somebody has fallen for a trick that I have
- 20:00Speaker 1: been like, I cannot believe these characters didn't see this
- 20:02Speaker 1: for what it was. But Loofy has been on the
- 20:06Speaker 1: receiving end of enough help and people who are on
- 20:10Speaker 1: his side that I couldn't help but like understand why
- 20:20Speaker 1: this guy was believable as an ally to him. This
- 20:23Speaker 1: seemed I understood that it was going to be a
- 20:27Speaker 1: trap pretty quickly because my radar is just up in general.
- 20:32Speaker 1: But I thought that the reveal of it being a
- 20:36Speaker 1: trap was fairly like well done, and that this guy
- 20:43Speaker 1: seemed pretty convincing from the outset. So what it is
- 20:47Speaker 1: that he's doing is leading Lufy into a dead end.
- 20:54Speaker 1: Now here's what was very confusing to me, because I
- 21:02Speaker 1: really really thought, kids, this was I feel like a
- 21:08Speaker 1: bit of a ding dong, and you know, maybe I
- 21:11Speaker 1: just am and I have to live with that.
- 21:13Speaker 2: But this guy is leading Lufy in. He is.
- 21:21Speaker 1: Obviously got his sinister little chuckle YadA YadA. Now I
- 21:28Speaker 1: think I should have put two and two together that
- 21:32Speaker 1: this guy was here to get the bounty off of Loufy.
- 21:40Speaker 1: I genuinely just thought that this guy was working with
- 21:45Speaker 1: Do Flamingo from the beginning. I don't know why I
- 21:50Speaker 1: thought that, because we haven't seen this man talking to
- 21:53Speaker 1: Do Flamingo or as part of like Do Flamingo's family
- 21:56Speaker 1: in our circle. That has never been a thing. But
- 22:01Speaker 1: I just assumed that if this were a trap, that
- 22:05Speaker 1: the trap was on behalf of Do Flamingo. That this
- 22:10Speaker 1: was like, if it was a trap, then it would
- 22:15Speaker 1: require the kind of organization that somebody like kind of
- 22:18Speaker 1: higher on the chain would require. So when this guy
- 22:25Speaker 1: is like smirking to himself, he's standing outside of the
- 22:29Speaker 1: UH the entrance of this dead end tunnel. I was
- 22:37Speaker 1: thinking he was sending Loofy down the tunnel to meet
- 22:41Speaker 1: up with some batties from Do Flamingo's family, just not
- 22:46Speaker 1: like ready for it. What it looks like was really
- 22:50Speaker 1: going on is that this guy knew that there was
- 22:54Speaker 1: seawater at the end of the tunnel. And correct me
- 22:58Speaker 1: if I'm wrong here, kids, because I maybe overestimating the
- 23:04Speaker 1: seawater angle of this, but this is really what I thought,
- 23:10Speaker 1: and that he was planning for Lufy to be disabled
- 23:14Speaker 1: because of the seawater and then to like come in
- 23:18Speaker 1: and sort of push him back up into that water
- 23:22Speaker 1: to make it so that Lufy couldn't use his power
- 23:24Speaker 1: and thus get the drop on him that way, which
- 23:30Speaker 1: I am curious how this guy found this dead end.
- 23:33Speaker 2: And how he.
- 23:36Speaker 1: Got the seawater in there, or if this was like
- 23:38Speaker 1: a naturally occurring thing that he just decided to take
- 23:41Speaker 1: the UH take advantage of it. But regardless, I just
- 23:50Speaker 1: misunderstood the way that this was going to go down
- 23:53Speaker 1: So when he's standing outside of the entrance.
- 23:56Speaker 2: And he is.
- 23:58Speaker 1: Like just waiting for them to go down, and somebody
- 24:01Speaker 1: comes up behind him and attacks him, I thought, oh, nice,
- 24:07Speaker 1: we're getting like somebody who's on Loofy's side, who has
- 24:11Speaker 1: decided to step forward and rescue him. And it's being
- 24:18Speaker 1: presented as this person slowly walks up the hallway as
- 24:22Speaker 1: if they are an enemy. But we're going to find
- 24:25Speaker 1: out in short order that they're actually on our side
- 24:28Speaker 1: and that this is a good thing that Lufy is here.
- 24:32Speaker 1: So imagine my confusion when it's Do Flamingo that turns up.
- 24:38Speaker 1: I will say that at the very least, the thing
- 24:41Speaker 1: that I got right was that Do Flamingo is not
- 24:45Speaker 1: really here, that this is one of the clones. That
- 24:47Speaker 1: was pretty much what I assumed, So I was right
- 24:51Speaker 1: on that front at least. But when Do Flamingo says
- 24:58Speaker 1: something about rescue Lufy, that was when I genuinely was like, wait,
- 25:03Speaker 1: hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, what are
- 25:06Speaker 1: you talking about? And it took me so long to
- 25:09Speaker 1: understand that genuinely this dude was here to like, as
- 25:15Speaker 1: Lufi puts it, later point out the fact that Lufi
- 25:19Speaker 1: is out of his depth and just Loki laugh at him,
- 25:22Speaker 1: and the fact that he trusted this guy and got
- 25:24Speaker 1: himself into this position. Like what it feels like to
- 25:28Speaker 1: me is that Do Flamingo saw Lufy starting to get
- 25:33Speaker 1: played and like wants to have the face off with
- 25:38Speaker 1: Lufy after all, Like he's kind of into that and
- 25:42Speaker 1: was going, this guy is going to ruin it. If
- 25:45Speaker 1: Louvi falls for this, then I'm not gonna get to
- 25:49Speaker 1: have my moment up against him, and that sucks. So
- 25:54Speaker 1: I want to make sure Lufy actually makes it out.
- 25:58Speaker 1: And the convoluted nature of the way this all works.
- 26:04Speaker 1: I think that in other circumstances this might annoy me
- 26:09Speaker 1: a little bit, but I really liked it this time around.
- 26:15Speaker 1: Like the fact that Do Flamingo is toying with him
- 26:18Speaker 1: in this way actually feels quite in character. The fact
- 26:23Speaker 1: that this dude would have been trying to trap him
- 26:25Speaker 1: for his own gain makes sense with a bounty, but
- 26:29Speaker 1: then that Do Flamingo would swoop in, like I think
- 26:32Speaker 1: a lot of times I would be kind of side
- 26:35Speaker 1: eyeing it as like, well, obviously, it's just so that
- 26:38Speaker 1: we could have the tension of oh, he's falling for
- 26:40Speaker 1: a trap, but then it turns out okay, and we're
- 26:44Speaker 1: just doing this very contrived thing of do Flamingo being
- 26:48Speaker 1: the one to save him because it's supposed to be
- 26:52Speaker 1: like to add to the tension that Do Flamingo is here, surprise, surprise,
- 26:56Speaker 1: and instead, I h I really was like enjoying the
- 27:04Speaker 1: fact that dolfl Mingo is such an agent of chaos
- 27:07Speaker 1: that he is literally out here helping Loofy sometimes to
- 27:12Speaker 1: just just for the sake of making the fight go
- 27:16Speaker 1: in the exact direction that he wants it to go,
- 27:19Speaker 1: because he is so certain and confident that things are
- 27:26Speaker 1: going to work out for him ultimately that he thinks
- 27:30Speaker 1: he can afford to fuck around a little bit just
- 27:34Speaker 1: for the fun of it. So just all that to say, like,
- 27:39Speaker 1: I feel like this could have gone a really different
- 27:43Speaker 1: way if it had been written slightly less well, or
- 27:47Speaker 1: if dolfl Mingo as a character hadn't been like presented
- 27:52Speaker 1: as cohesively and consistently as he has been. There are
- 27:56Speaker 1: a lot of factors that were they not there, I
- 28:00Speaker 1: don't think this plot beat would have worked at all.
- 28:03Speaker 1: And I think it's a really nice example of like
- 28:06Speaker 1: when the writing and the show can be quite good
- 28:09Speaker 1: because it just you know, if there's a lot of episodes,
- 28:12Speaker 1: they're not all going to be winners, and not all
- 28:13Speaker 1: the characters and what they do are going to make
- 28:16Speaker 1: sense every time. But I definitely thought that this particular
- 28:21Speaker 1: thing was like.
- 28:23Speaker 2: It was a really.
- 28:27Speaker 1: Like goofy silly moment that felt goofy and silly in
- 28:31Speaker 1: a believable world consistent way. And so anyway, the one
- 28:37Speaker 1: thing that you guys know already that I did not
- 28:41Speaker 1: like was the fact that Moosey gets shot up here.
- 28:46Speaker 1: I trust that Moosey is going to be okay eventually,
- 28:54Speaker 1: but you guys know, I didn't care for that the
- 28:58Speaker 1: fact that he shot Moosey up. I mean, my god,
- 29:02Speaker 1: how like the absolute worst. I hate it so much,
- 29:07Speaker 1: And I'm I've gotten to a point with the show
- 29:12Speaker 1: that I am confident enough that the animals that we
- 29:15Speaker 1: love will always be fine. There have been, like I
- 29:18Speaker 1: think like one or two times where they have either
- 29:23Speaker 1: gotten recaptured by an enemy or something has happened where
- 29:26Speaker 1: it didn't work out and it wasn't like the animal
- 29:29Speaker 1: was dead necessarily, but it was that like we didn't
- 29:34Speaker 1: get reunited with them necessarily, but because of how front
- 29:38Speaker 1: and center Moosey seems to be in a lot of
- 29:41Speaker 1: these episodes. I'm just going to have faith that things
- 29:45Speaker 1: will be okay for him and that we will get
- 29:47Speaker 1: to see him again. I one Loofy busts out through
- 29:52Speaker 1: the ceiling of this spot, and he didn't bring Moosey
- 29:57Speaker 1: with him. He has only grabbed law. I was like, okay, fine,
- 30:04Speaker 1: I'm gonna try and be cool with this, but I
- 30:05Speaker 1: really wish that we had also gotten to see Moosey
- 30:08Speaker 1: get rescued in that moment. The thing is that the
- 30:11Speaker 1: two dudes who were on Moosey's back are they like
- 30:16Speaker 1: swoop in and help against the I keep wanting to
- 30:21Speaker 1: say the Dophie Bot, which like it's not a bot
- 30:24Speaker 1: because it's made out of thread, so it's magic. It's
- 30:27Speaker 1: like he's almost like a golum a little bit, really,
- 30:32Speaker 1: But the fact that they like slice him up and
- 30:36Speaker 1: then they're like, I really thought it was so good.
- 30:40Speaker 1: They kind of pause and they're like, wait, is that it?
- 30:44Speaker 1: This is the guy that everybody's like trying to fight.
- 30:47Speaker 2: Did we just win? Hold on? What's happening?
- 30:50Speaker 1: That was very funny and they have to explain, like no, no, No,
- 30:54Speaker 1: this dude is not really here. That is just some
- 30:58Speaker 1: thing that he is able to make with his power.
- 31:01Speaker 1: So I am hopeful that because those dudes are left
- 31:05Speaker 1: down there as well, they will take care of Moocy
- 31:07Speaker 1: and it will be all good. But yeah, for right now,
- 31:11Speaker 1: I definitely am just like Lucy, Lucy baby, are you
- 31:14Speaker 1: all right? Somebody, somebody do something. Also, there's a funny
- 31:21Speaker 1: bit where Law is I don't know if I really
- 31:25Speaker 1: talked about it enough last episode, but La finally has
- 31:28Speaker 1: like come around and says that he understands what it
- 31:32Speaker 1: was that Lufy was talking about regarding caring for the
- 31:36Speaker 1: fate of the kingdom overall and not sticking to the
- 31:40Speaker 1: plan because they aren't going they are going to prioritize
- 31:44Speaker 1: the well being of the people over the strategy that
- 31:49Speaker 1: he had originally really wanted.
- 31:50Speaker 2: To stick to. And so he's like, yeah, we have to.
- 31:55Speaker 1: Fight do Flamingo. I get it, let's just do that.
- 31:59Speaker 1: But I thought that the uh, I've lost track of
- 32:05Speaker 1: where I was going with this.
- 32:06Speaker 2: What was it? Oh?
- 32:07Speaker 1: Oh with Law he keeps saying like pointing out to Loofy,
- 32:11Speaker 1: like you're just trying to get to do Flamingo and
- 32:13Speaker 1: you're not seeming to remember I am in handcuffs still.
- 32:18Speaker 1: We really really need the keys to the handcuffs, my guy.
- 32:22Speaker 1: And like he gets Lufy's attention enough that when Lufy
- 32:26Speaker 1: turns and looks at him, I kind of thought he
- 32:29Speaker 1: Lufy was going to be like, oh, you're right, because
- 32:32Speaker 1: he actually stops and goes hm and kids. You know
- 32:39Speaker 1: how little Loofy ever seems to really consider what people
- 32:42Speaker 1: say to him. It's like it doesn't penetrate. So if
- 32:46Speaker 1: he actually acknowledges that somebody has said words, I fully
- 32:52Speaker 1: thought we were going to get a change of plan
- 32:57Speaker 1: here we do. Not what we get is Lufy going
- 33:02Speaker 1: hmm and then just saying it'll all work out. I think,
- 33:12Speaker 1: oh my god, I really loved it so much. I uh,
- 33:17Speaker 1: and Law just screams at him like what if you're wrong?
- 33:22Speaker 1: And Louvie doesn't really have an answer.
- 33:24Speaker 2: He doesn't like.
- 33:25Speaker 1: I think they maybe get interrupted at that point. I
- 33:27Speaker 1: don't know, but he doesn't have an answer for him
- 33:29Speaker 1: either way, even if it hadn't been interrupted. And I
- 33:34Speaker 1: loved just the whole vibe of this scene and the
- 33:38Speaker 1: fact that eventually it does work out, and Lufy is
- 33:41Speaker 1: like well, see, I told you it worked out, and
- 33:45Speaker 1: Law is so irritated, and he says, like, yeah, by coincidence.
- 33:49Speaker 1: And the thing is that that's like what life is,
- 33:53Speaker 1: you know. I'm always interested in this question because I
- 33:57Speaker 1: have oftentimes sort of thought of myself as a like
- 34:03Speaker 1: kind of pessimistic, jaded person. But the more I interact
- 34:09Speaker 1: with people, the more I realize that I am a
- 34:13Speaker 1: pretty optimistic person.
- 34:15Speaker 2: Actually.
- 34:16Speaker 1: There are a lot of points in my life where
- 34:18Speaker 1: things have gone really badly, and even though I have
- 34:22Speaker 1: been really depressed over them, ultimately, like other than when
- 34:28Speaker 1: I was a teenager and first experiencing really bad depression,
- 34:33Speaker 1: I definitely had suicidal thoughts. But as I've gotten older,
- 34:38Speaker 1: I've realized that even when I am at my most despairing,
- 34:43Speaker 1: a real thought of attempting suicide never enters my mind
- 34:46Speaker 1: because somewhere inside me, I always genuinely believe it will
- 34:51Speaker 1: get better. I just have to wait it out and
- 34:54Speaker 1: eventually it will get better.
- 34:56Speaker 2: And there's really no like.
- 34:58Speaker 1: Evidence for that kind of outline. It's just a kind
- 35:03Speaker 1: of faith, you know, and you can't whenever something happens
- 35:09Speaker 1: where it does work out. It always can be argued
- 35:13Speaker 1: that that was just coincidence, but like bad things are
- 35:17Speaker 1: also just coincidence, and we really don't treat that that way.
- 35:23Speaker 1: So I just I think it's really you know, it's
- 35:25Speaker 1: the sort of thing the difference between like the way
- 35:28Speaker 1: that you behave after they get the key. One type
- 35:35Speaker 1: of person is going to go, see, I told you
- 35:37Speaker 1: it would work out, and another person is going to
- 35:41Speaker 1: think constantly about how like if it hadn't happened, if
- 35:50Speaker 1: this didn't work out, if that didn't work out, then
- 35:52Speaker 1: all of the terrible outcomes that we could have seen
- 35:57Speaker 1: had something gone in a different direction. It's not like
- 36:00Speaker 1: they're not it's not like they're incorrect about the potential
- 36:04Speaker 1: for things to have gone really really wrong, but they
- 36:09Speaker 1: are focusing on an outcome that didn't actually happen, and
- 36:13Speaker 1: they seem to believe that, because of the circumstances of life,
- 36:20Speaker 1: that the negative outcome is just more likely than the
- 36:23Speaker 1: positive outcome. And I am somebody who I have come
- 36:28Speaker 1: to understand I see like a much bigger picture a
- 36:33Speaker 1: lot of the time, and I have the outlook of
- 36:38Speaker 1: something a friend said to me once it all will
- 36:43Speaker 1: turn out all right in the end, and if it's
- 36:46Speaker 1: not alright, then it's not the end. And I think
- 36:51Speaker 1: that's like the way that Lufy operates is that he
- 36:53Speaker 1: really does seem to like trust in the universe to
- 36:56Speaker 1: get him what.
- 36:57Speaker 2: He needs to succeed.
- 36:59Speaker 1: The thing about Loofy, though, is that everybody around him
- 37:03Speaker 1: is always compensating and bending over backwards to do the things,
- 37:07Speaker 1: and Lufy just seems to in some ways kind of
- 37:10Speaker 1: take it for granted. So, you know, I don't want
- 37:13Speaker 1: to like say that Lufy just has more faith and
- 37:16Speaker 1: that's being rewarded the faith that he has, it seems
- 37:21Speaker 1: to be in like the universe, and then the universe
- 37:24Speaker 1: manifests in a bunch of other people stepping up and
- 37:28Speaker 1: doing the things that probably Loofy should have accounted for more,
- 37:32Speaker 1: you know. But nevertheless, I just really I liked this
- 37:38Speaker 1: whole bit, and it's a great illustration of the difference
- 37:41Speaker 1: between Loofy and Law and how they they just go
- 37:47Speaker 1: the way that they approach life, the way that they
- 37:49Speaker 1: prioritize things. The fact that like it took Law this
- 37:52Speaker 1: long to really understand that he.
- 37:57Speaker 2: Needed to.
- 37:59Speaker 1: Fight do Flamingo after all, because he was so fixated
- 38:03Speaker 1: on his plan going a particular way that if it didn't,
- 38:09Speaker 1: he was like, even when it was clear we had
- 38:13Speaker 1: passed the point of no return with that plan, he
- 38:17Speaker 1: couldn't really let it go. And Loofy there is a
- 38:22Speaker 1: little bit of an advantage in the fly by the
- 38:24Speaker 1: seat of your pants kind of way that he operates
- 38:28Speaker 1: because he has a more flexible way of living, you know.
- 38:34Speaker 1: So it's like a completely different vibe when you just
- 38:38Speaker 1: sort of roll with things. And it's it's funny because
- 38:43Speaker 1: I have like such a combination where I'm an overplanner
- 38:46Speaker 1: for sure, and I acknowledge that, but also do have
- 38:51Speaker 1: a lot of trust in like things just working out
- 38:54Speaker 1: a certain way. So I go back and forth with
- 38:58Speaker 1: like the trust but all so I feel like, well,
- 39:02Speaker 1: I can have trust that things will work out, and
- 39:04Speaker 1: I can feel like I need to do everything I
- 39:06Speaker 1: can to ensure this outcome. Like I it's like I
- 39:10Speaker 1: am kind of have the overall outlook of Loofy, but
- 39:14Speaker 1: I am also trying to do the work to make
- 39:17Speaker 1: it happen instead of trusting in other people, which I
- 39:21Speaker 1: think is probably pretty revealing about me. And the way
- 39:24Speaker 1: that I see other people in terms of their reliability
- 39:27Speaker 1: is like, look, things might turn out okay, but I
- 39:29Speaker 1: don't believe anybody else is going to manage to make
- 39:32Speaker 1: that happen. I am going to have to make that
- 39:34Speaker 1: happen if it's going to happen at all, which yeah,
- 39:38Speaker 1: there it is. So I'm sorry, I'm jumping around here.
- 39:42Speaker 1: So getting the key to loofy. The way that we
- 39:45Speaker 1: do this is the Tumtata. It turns out they have
- 39:49Speaker 1: they call like what do they call it, like the
- 39:53Speaker 1: Yellow Air Force something like that. But it's a funny
- 39:58Speaker 1: bit because the dude who summons them, he like yells
- 40:02Speaker 1: it out, and there is a very long time where
- 40:06Speaker 1: nothing seems to happen, and you're genuinely kind of like,
- 40:11Speaker 1: uh guys, Like a lot of times the timing of
- 40:16Speaker 1: these sorts of jokes is nothing happens, there's a delay,
- 40:23Speaker 1: and then just as soon as you start to be like, okay,
- 40:26Speaker 1: I guess nobody's coming, all of a sudden they show
- 40:28Speaker 1: up and so you have your moment. But here, the
- 40:35Speaker 1: moment when I go okay, now they're going to show
- 40:38Speaker 1: passes twice and still nobody has turned up, and it's
- 40:42Speaker 1: dead silent. So I genuinely was starting to be like,
- 40:46Speaker 1: oh God, do they think something's going to happen, and
- 40:49Speaker 1: it's really not like and it felt like it worked
- 40:55Speaker 1: well because eventually one of the tantata is like, ah,
- 40:58Speaker 1: here they are, and start it's like laughing excitedly to
- 41:02Speaker 1: himself before we actually as like viewers are hearing anything.
- 41:08Speaker 1: And so what we see is a crowd of these
- 41:13Speaker 1: bugs and they land on the roof. And the way
- 41:18Speaker 1: that this, like the dialogue goes here, doesn't really work.
- 41:25Speaker 1: I'm just going to admit that out right, because one
- 41:29Speaker 1: of them says, Okay, everybody hop on, And as we
- 41:34Speaker 1: find out, hopping on isn't how this works at all.
- 41:39Speaker 1: That's not like, that isn't the way that you would
- 41:43Speaker 1: say it to considering what it is that they actually.
- 41:50Speaker 2: Do to move on these things.
- 41:52Speaker 1: But the way that this works out is that the
- 41:57Speaker 1: tuntata are they make like a grouping that each has
- 42:06Speaker 1: these strings hanging down that our friends can hold onto,
- 42:12Speaker 1: so that they jump off the side of the building,
- 42:15Speaker 1: and like at first it is very much looking like
- 42:18Speaker 1: they are simply plummeting to their deaths, and then eventually
- 42:23Speaker 1: our guys sort of catch the wind or the velocity
- 42:29Speaker 1: evens out or something, and all of a sudden, they
- 42:34Speaker 1: are starting to like go horizontal instead of downward, and
- 42:40Speaker 1: they just have to kick off from one building to another,
- 42:45Speaker 1: and these things will help keep them in like a
- 42:48Speaker 1: sustained float. And it reminded me a lot of Do
- 42:52Speaker 1: Flamingo's Power. Actually, it was just a really similar effect
- 42:59Speaker 1: of you know, I can't actually fly, but this is
- 43:04Speaker 1: so close to a fly that like, does it really
- 43:08Speaker 1: matter at this point? You know? And I really I.
- 43:17Speaker 2: Enjoyed the.
- 43:20Speaker 1: Seeing them all like doubting whether this was going to work.
- 43:24Speaker 1: Once you see it come together and how.
- 43:26Speaker 2: It works, I really liked.
- 43:28Speaker 1: And then you get this moment, you guys, I was
- 43:31Speaker 1: losing my mind so fucking Bartolomeo. Initially, in order to
- 43:38Speaker 1: determine that we have to go to a certain place
- 43:40Speaker 1: to bring the key, Robin calls Loofy on the the
- 43:46Speaker 1: transponder snail. Now, my friends, I just have to say,
- 43:54Speaker 1: when Loufy answers the transponders snail and just says, hey,
- 43:59Speaker 1: this is Lufy, the guy who's going to become King
- 44:02Speaker 1: of the Pirates, I fell out laughing. I swear to God,
- 44:06Speaker 1: I love the fact that he is just like this.
- 44:09Speaker 1: It does not get old. For me, it really doesn't.
- 44:13Speaker 1: But anyway, when she is on the phone with him,
- 44:21Speaker 1: we kind of get a view of her and she
- 44:23Speaker 1: is standing between Bartolomeo and Rebecca and I think Wicka
- 44:30Speaker 1: is there with them as well, and Wicka is talking
- 44:35Speaker 1: to Lufy about who is here, and she calls.
- 44:39Speaker 2: Bartolomeo the uh what is she called? The Rooster Guy?
- 44:46Speaker 1: And in the split second before he reacts, I fully
- 44:51Speaker 1: expected that he was going to get irritated at being
- 44:57Speaker 1: called that, or he would like correct her and say, uh,
- 45:02Speaker 1: excuse me, that's not my name, you know, like I
- 45:05Speaker 1: want Lufy to know who it is he's talking to.
- 45:09Speaker 1: And instead, Bartolomeo staying the fucking MVP, I swear to God,
- 45:18Speaker 1: grins ear to ear and nods vigorously like yeah, yeah,
- 45:23Speaker 1: I'm the Rooster Guy and I'm here, you guys.
- 45:26Speaker 2: I fucking love him so much.
- 45:30Speaker 1: I cannot get enough of Bartolameo. Can he please get
- 45:34Speaker 1: a spinoff show? Everything with him is fucking gold every time,
- 45:40Speaker 1: him just being delighted to be included, just being like, yeah, yeah,
- 45:46Speaker 1: the Rooster Guy.
- 45:46Speaker 2: Yeah this's me. Oh my gosh, she's talking about me
- 45:48Speaker 2: to Lufy.
- 45:49Speaker 1: Oh my god, Lufy's hearing about me does not have
- 45:52Speaker 1: like the concern the pride about like I have a name.
- 45:55Speaker 2: I want him to know who I am. That isn't it?
- 45:58Speaker 2: He pure is I am so excited to be here.
- 46:02Speaker 1: I can't believe it's Loofy on the phone. Oh my god,
- 46:04Speaker 1: they're talking about me. I'm involved. This is amazing, Like
- 46:08Speaker 1: everything about the whole interaction was so precious and pure
- 46:14Speaker 1: and wonderful.
- 46:15Speaker 2: Bartolomeo just keeps on giving for me.
- 46:19Speaker 1: I love him, and eventually once for flying, Bartolomeo is
- 46:27Speaker 1: like very concerned because people spot them and start shooting
- 46:32Speaker 1: at them. So Bartolomeo is like, I cannot believe that
- 46:36Speaker 1: they're shooting at us. If they hurt my friend Robin,
- 46:40Speaker 1: it's gonna be over for these hoes. So he initially
- 46:44Speaker 1: is like, yeah, let me go ahead and set up
- 46:48Speaker 1: a barrier, and he can't do it because he's his
- 46:55Speaker 1: hands are busy. So our poor guy has just like
- 47:00Speaker 1: lifts his fingers up and is gonna try and like
- 47:02Speaker 1: make a barrier, and then he realizes he can't and
- 47:05Speaker 1: he's like, wait, oh god, what do I do? And
- 47:10Speaker 1: the option that he comes up with, guys he's like,
- 47:19Speaker 1: let me do a rain of fire like I did
- 47:24Speaker 1: in the Colosseum. I genuinely, for a moment did not
- 47:31Speaker 1: understand what it was he was saying. And then we
- 47:34Speaker 1: get a flashback of him pissing into the water, and
- 47:38Speaker 1: I fell out laughing.
- 47:40Speaker 2: I could not believe it.
- 47:41Speaker 1: I was like, he is not and he's like wiggling
- 47:45Speaker 1: in this weird way, and one of the guys on
- 47:47Speaker 1: the ground also is just like what is he doing?
- 47:50Speaker 2: What is that? Why is he moving like that?
- 47:53Speaker 1: And then the camera pulls back and we see that
- 47:55Speaker 1: his pants have fallen like down around his ankle, so
- 47:58Speaker 1: he was like wiggling out of his belt. I guess, like,
- 48:01Speaker 1: I don't really how he does this when he's not
- 48:05Speaker 1: when he doesn't have any hands free, doesn't really make sense.
- 48:09Speaker 2: But it's fine. It's does not matter.
- 48:13Speaker 1: And so he is just about to like piss on
- 48:17Speaker 1: everybody's heads. And that's how he gets them to back off,
- 48:20Speaker 1: is that he is straight up, like nude from the
- 48:25Speaker 1: waist down, coming at them with his dick out, and
- 48:28Speaker 1: they are so threatened that he is going to piss
- 48:30Speaker 1: on them that they run. That's comedy. I'm sorry, friends,
- 48:35Speaker 1: this is gold. I loved it every bit. It's so good.
- 48:39Speaker 1: So let's talk also for another bit of gold about
- 48:44Speaker 1: Senor Pink, who is out here fighting with Frankie. So
- 48:50Speaker 1: Senor Pink is doing suplexing like it is his job now,
- 48:55Speaker 1: just over and over, and it makes sense because of
- 48:58Speaker 1: the way that he comes up from underneath people and
- 49:02Speaker 1: grabs them around the legs. But yeah, he he keeps
- 49:05Speaker 1: on soup lexing Frankie, and Frankie keeps on being sort
- 49:08Speaker 1: of like, I like sort of waving this guy because
- 49:13Speaker 1: like it's a little understandable.
- 49:16Speaker 2: The man looks bongers right, so like.
- 49:21Speaker 1: The fact that he is a good fighter and is
- 49:25Speaker 1: using any kind of strategy. I could see just constantly
- 49:29Speaker 1: being sort of taken off guard by that where you
- 49:33Speaker 1: keep expecting nothing because he seems like such a weirdo loser,
- 49:39Speaker 1: and then unexpectedly he's a good fighter and you're sort
- 49:41Speaker 1: of like, shit, right, I keep forgetting that I should
- 49:45Speaker 1: actually like take you seriously a little bit. So it's
- 49:49Speaker 1: like Frankie sort of loses track of him because he
- 49:52Speaker 1: the guy looks ridiculous, and then realizing oh oh oh,
- 49:58Speaker 1: oh no, no, no, this dude is somebody that I
- 50:01Speaker 1: should be concerned about. I have to be reminded of
- 50:03Speaker 1: it over and over again. And the fight between the
- 50:08Speaker 1: two of them like I actually enjoy, especially seeing as
- 50:13Speaker 1: they are both just in like little panty bottoms. It
- 50:17Speaker 1: does feel like we are watching actual wrestling. And at
- 50:21Speaker 1: one point the way that he's holding up Frankie, Frankie
- 50:28Speaker 1: is bent so backward that there is like a camera
- 50:32Speaker 1: zoom in on his bulge in the front of his
- 50:36Speaker 1: little panties, and the girls off to the side, who
- 50:40Speaker 1: are of course there all the time watching the fight.
- 50:45Speaker 1: She yells out, you know, don't show us you're junk
- 50:52Speaker 1: and mister pink as I can't help but think of him,
- 50:57Speaker 1: but Sendor Pink He he actually says, if you don't
- 51:04Speaker 1: like it, look away. This is what it looks like
- 51:09Speaker 1: when men fight. And I'll tell you what. I was
- 51:13Speaker 1: sort of into it, just being like, bitches, we aren't
- 51:17Speaker 1: here to be aesthetic to you right now, okay, we
- 51:20Speaker 1: are here to fight. This is what it is and
- 51:23Speaker 1: looks like. If you have a problem, I guess fucking
- 51:27Speaker 1: deal with that. Go somewhere else. I don't care. I'm
- 51:33Speaker 1: I really like look, I will stand by the fact
- 51:36Speaker 1: that Bartolomeo is MVP of this arc, but Senor Pink
- 51:43Speaker 1: still has the best one of like the best overall
- 51:46Speaker 1: moments of the show ever. And if it weren't for Bartolomeo,
- 51:50Speaker 1: he would easily be the best part of the arc.
- 51:53Speaker 1: It's just Bartolomeo is so unexpected, Like he is just
- 51:58Speaker 1: so full of surprises. So sen you're Pink, especially in
- 52:02Speaker 1: combination with Frankie because he is so weird, and then
- 52:06Speaker 1: for it to like jump into us being like the
- 52:14Speaker 1: moments of weirdness from him to Frankie actually calling out
- 52:18Speaker 1: the weirdness and being.
- 52:20Speaker 2: Like what is with you guys? Like this is strange?
- 52:23Speaker 2: Do you not? You know?
- 52:25Speaker 1: It's it's that sort of foil that makes it so
- 52:29Speaker 1: fun to watch and so funny. So eventually, like Frankie
- 52:36Speaker 1: is in a position here where he's not beaten, but
- 52:40Speaker 1: he is being stopped so frequently that he's not really
- 52:44Speaker 1: making any forward progress. And eventually the Tantata come up
- 52:50Speaker 1: with a plan and they're like, we just need you
- 52:53Speaker 1: to buy some time and we are going to handle
- 52:57Speaker 1: getting a door to the factory open from the inside,
- 53:01Speaker 1: So just like handle that and we'll do our thing,
- 53:05Speaker 1: and we don't see the results of that by the
- 53:07Speaker 1: end of these three episodes. But and it's sort of
- 53:09Speaker 1: like a shame because Frankie's in the middle of being
- 53:12Speaker 1: like by his time, oh, I can definitely do that,
- 53:16Speaker 1: and then just as he's like very confidently saying that
- 53:19Speaker 1: he can handle that, he gets suplexed again, and I
- 53:22Speaker 1: was just like, oh, agonizing, come on, But.
- 53:26Speaker 2: Yeah, this.
- 53:29Speaker 1: The arc. I think it's like partially what's working for
- 53:34Speaker 1: it is the very thing that a lot of other
- 53:36Speaker 1: times has been a problem where I have had an
- 53:41Speaker 1: issue with us jumping around so much because it's hard
- 53:44Speaker 1: to keep track of things after a point. It is,
- 53:49Speaker 1: you know, like moving from one character that I don't
- 53:52Speaker 1: really care about to another character that I don't really
- 53:54Speaker 1: care about, with fights that can be really predictable in
- 53:59Speaker 1: how they go down, or if not predictable, they are
- 54:02Speaker 1: at least like kind of dull, like, you know, bringing
- 54:06Speaker 1: it back to the Fishman Island, the way that.
- 54:11Speaker 2: Things went with.
- 54:14Speaker 1: Loofy versus the big bad there whose name I straight
- 54:18Speaker 1: up have forgotten.
- 54:19Speaker 2: It was just them like throwing.
- 54:21Speaker 1: Punches in water under the water, and it was so ordinary,
- 54:26Speaker 1: you know, there was nothing about the fight that really
- 54:30Speaker 1: made it even feel like.
- 54:31Speaker 2: It was underwater.
- 54:33Speaker 1: All of it was just sort of like by the
- 54:36Speaker 1: numbers kind of. And here, even though we are jumping
- 54:40Speaker 1: around a ton, there's a lot of different things going on,
- 54:42Speaker 1: and normally that can feel like a kiss of death.
- 54:45Speaker 1: I am really enjoying the weirdo powers some people have.
- 54:51Speaker 1: The different characters are very distinctly drawn. They are not
- 54:56Speaker 1: behaving in ways that I am expecting, and so it's
- 55:00Speaker 1: managing to really keep my focus and attention and it
- 55:05Speaker 1: isn't a downside.
- 55:06Speaker 2: At all, you know.
- 55:08Speaker 1: So Yeah, I'm a big, big.
- 55:11Speaker 2: Fan of this arc still so far.
- 55:14Speaker 1: And also like the the third episode. I've like talked
- 55:19Speaker 1: mostly about the first two. The third episode has the
- 55:23Speaker 1: most fighting with like Do Flamingo's guys, and I think
- 55:26Speaker 1: that's why I haven't talked about it as much, because
- 55:29Speaker 1: I find it a little bit less compelling. Do Flamingo's
- 55:33Speaker 1: guys are actually like somewhat interesting. It's not like that's
- 55:37Speaker 1: really a problem, but I like when I'm just dealing
- 55:44Speaker 1: with them and Do Flamingo, I am a lot less
- 55:47Speaker 1: interested than when they are going up against Lufy and
- 55:51Speaker 1: his people, Like.
- 55:52Speaker 2: When they're by themselves. It's much more.
- 55:56Speaker 1: That is when it starts to feel a little bit
- 55:58Speaker 1: by the numbers and the vibe of like fucking Dellinger again,
- 56:05Speaker 1: who I just do not like, and the way that
- 56:09Speaker 1: his whole bit keeps going. I am so over him
- 56:14Speaker 1: that I was just grateful this didn't last too too long,
- 56:18Speaker 1: because I genuinely did start to be like, Okay, come
- 56:21Speaker 1: on now, and there's a trip down memory lane that
- 56:28Speaker 1: Do Flamingo goes down eventually, where he's thinking about Law
- 56:33Speaker 1: wanting to work for him, and the way that it
- 56:37Speaker 1: went down with Law showing up at his door wanting
- 56:40Speaker 1: to be part of his crew and all of these
- 56:44Speaker 1: things with like just reminiscing a little bit, and it
- 56:51Speaker 1: was sort of funny because like a part of me
- 56:54Speaker 1: I was thinking the exact same thing. When it comes
- 56:57Speaker 1: back to him at the beginning of the third episode,
- 56:59Speaker 1: He's like, what a weird thing to be.
- 57:01Speaker 2: Thinking about right now. And there was a little.
- 57:04Speaker 1: Part of me in my head as we were doing
- 57:06Speaker 1: this that was going, now, we're doing this now. So
- 57:09Speaker 1: the fact that he actually acknowledged that I couldn't help
- 57:12Speaker 1: but kind of.
- 57:13Speaker 2: Loll over a little bit.
- 57:17Speaker 1: But yeah, the fact that Law had like kind of
- 57:19Speaker 1: been on his side and then like eventually turned a corner.
- 57:24Speaker 1: Is interesting, and I'll be curious to see exactly how
- 57:27Speaker 1: things went bad. Because the way that Do Flimingo talks
- 57:33Speaker 1: about Law, he calls him a hateful little monster. That's
- 57:38Speaker 1: the way it's translated in the dub, which is pretty aggressive.
- 57:44Speaker 2: I really like saying it like that.
- 57:48Speaker 1: I was like, Damn, if fucking Do Flamingo is talking
- 57:53Speaker 1: about you like that, I feel like that's got to
- 57:55Speaker 1: be pretty severe. So I'm looking forward to seeing.
- 58:01Speaker 2: More of Laws overall.
- 58:06Speaker 1: Arc and how he changed, but also just what he
- 58:11Speaker 1: was like as a kid to make him be seen
- 58:13Speaker 1: as a hateful little monster, because damn, I'm curious about it.
- 58:19Speaker 1: We also have a little bit more fighting between Fuji,
- 58:22Speaker 1: Tora and Sabo. There's not that much going on in
- 58:26Speaker 1: that direction, but and the fight between Zorro and Pika
- 58:32Speaker 1: is actually like way less than I was expecting. Considering
- 58:35Speaker 1: how much we focused on Pica last time, I kind
- 58:38Speaker 1: of thought maybe these episodes would be the most focused
- 58:41Speaker 1: on sorrow. And there's there's a little touching touching in
- 58:45Speaker 1: on the two of them while they're fighting, but it's
- 58:47Speaker 1: really not very much.
- 58:49Speaker 2: It's just mostly Zoro.
- 58:50Speaker 1: Cracking jokes about how, like your swords so big, are
- 58:52Speaker 1: you compensating for something? Or jokes about his voice. I
- 58:57Speaker 1: think he says, you really like to hear yourself squeak
- 59:01Speaker 1: instead of speak, which was a good joke actually, But yeah,
- 59:05Speaker 1: so but no, no Nami, no Brook, no Chopper, Like,
- 59:10Speaker 1: still have not touch base with those guys at all,
- 59:13Speaker 1: So I genuinely have no idea what's happening there. I
- 59:16Speaker 1: am super curious what they're up to, because it's a
- 59:20Speaker 1: kind of thing that either they are out of the
- 59:22Speaker 1: picture right now because they're doing something where they're going
- 59:24Speaker 1: to pop up all of a sudden and like we
- 59:27Speaker 1: are going to have them join up with our group,
- 59:30Speaker 1: and it's like gonna be that they were on the
- 59:32Speaker 1: move going into dress Rosa while all this was happening,
- 59:38Speaker 1: or they are on a whole different like arc and
- 59:42Speaker 1: we're going to hit pause on this and go over
- 59:45Speaker 1: to them and do an entirely different thing for a
- 59:49Speaker 1: while with them.
- 59:51Speaker 2: I personally don't love that idea.
- 59:54Speaker 1: Because it feels like it will just bring everything to
- 59:57Speaker 1: a grinding halt. But it's not like it's impos psible
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: to pull that off. I just think it's harder. So yeah,
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: we're gonna have to wait and see. I am really
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: curious what they're up to though.
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: All right, so I have got to wrap this up. Oh,
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: Seraphim showed.
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: There had been nobody here for like almost the whole
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: episode of a Seraphim came to the end. Nice to
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: see a Seraphim. All right, everybody, thank you again so
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: much for listening. I really hope that you are enjoying
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: the coverage. And until next time to Loo motherfuckers. That
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: was an Unspoiled Network podcast two
