Tampa Bay’s long-awaited baseball future is finally taking shape as the Rays secure approval for a $2.3 billion new ballpark and entertainment district, set to open in 2029 near the Buccaneers’ stadium. The Rays are footing the bulk of the bill—$1.3 billion—with Hillsborough County contributing $800 million and the city adding $80 million. Federal disaster funds will also help.
