- 0:05Speaker 1: You know it as Oh, my god, what's that on
- 0:26Speaker 1: your face? M hmm, what's that on your face?
- 0:31Speaker 2: I don't know what's that on yours?
- 0:33Speaker 1: It's right there, right down on the tip of your Now,
- 0:36Speaker 1: it's beautiful.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Hi.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Welcome to the book Watchers, where I will always tell
- 0:41Speaker 1: Pooky that he is beautiful and stunnying.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Calling me pooky, I swear to go.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna call you pooky. And what my boyfriends,
- 0:50Speaker 1: my love, the love of my life, you're pooky. There's
- 0:53Speaker 1: a difference. Johnny is upgraded from pooky to love of
- 0:58Speaker 1: my life. You are pooky.
- 1:03Speaker 2: You are pooky, and you call me pooky is gonna
- 1:07Speaker 2: make me want to vomit every time?
- 1:08Speaker 1: Oh that's fine, that's fine.
- 1:10Speaker 2: I'm just gonna star getting I'm gonna start getting more vulgar,
- 1:12Speaker 2: vulgar every time you you call me pooky. Who's a Pooky?
- 1:16Speaker 2: I will kill I will kill myself in front of you.
- 1:20Speaker 1: You will not I will call a welfare check.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Well you know what I was thinking about making plans
- 1:33Speaker 2: to check into a mental hospital really well, you know
- 1:37Speaker 2: when you think about it, Oh damn that I just
- 1:43Speaker 2: I just might what three square meals a day? It's
- 1:49Speaker 2: like jail that at least they help you figure your
- 1:51Speaker 2: ship out.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Do they? I guess. I guess it depends on which
- 1:55Speaker 1: one you go to.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Yeah, it's very depending on the one you go to.
- 2:00Speaker 2: At least it is not the nineteen fifties where you
- 2:01Speaker 2: so much as like.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Like were so gay, you get electric without the electric
- 2:08Speaker 1: sock therapy because you're gay.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Depression, all right, lobotomy.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Lobonomy for everything you talk back, lobotomy you're gay. Lobotomy
- 2:20Speaker 1: you haven't depression of excite, lobotomy, just lobotomy for everything.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Because everything's you get, you get lobotomy, you get lobotomie.
- 2:31Speaker 1: I mean, we're in the city that had that did
- 2:33Speaker 1: lobotomy on gay people for being gay because gay was
- 2:36Speaker 1: a mental disorder.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Really oh god, Yeah, they had.
- 2:41Speaker 1: An asylum here where mental as. It's abandoned now where
- 2:46Speaker 1: I want to go visit. I mean then they shut
- 2:50Speaker 1: down back in like the eighties or nineties something like that,
- 2:52Speaker 1: but there.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Are I know, it's abandoned still, where is it?
- 2:55Speaker 1: Yeah? I would have to go look up look it
- 2:59Speaker 1: up again, but apparently you can go there. But of
- 3:01Speaker 1: course if you do go there, well you're not condone
- 3:04Speaker 1: trespassing on land that you're not supposed to because you
- 3:07Speaker 1: will get arrested. But people do sneak in there. Apparently,
- 3:14Speaker 1: Apparently it's it's another one of those haunted spots. I
- 3:18Speaker 1: don't think it is. I think it's just an abandoned asylum.
- 3:21Speaker 2: That one of those. It's one of the literal dozens
- 3:25Speaker 2: we have in San Antonio. All right, there's those haunted
- 3:27Speaker 2: train tracks, there's those they have the missions for the
- 3:32Speaker 2: former Spanish missions technically the Alamos haunted. But you know,
- 3:35Speaker 2: it's the most our most popular tourist attractions. We're not
- 3:38Speaker 2: going to tell anyone that.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Of course, of course.
- 3:43Speaker 2: And then of course, like right next door to it
- 3:45Speaker 2: is like the most haunted hotel in San Antonio. I
- 3:49Speaker 2: think you heard somewhere that it's like one of the
- 3:50Speaker 2: most haunted hotels in the US. Was it called again
- 3:54Speaker 2: the Lincoln or the it's a historical hotel kind of place.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Anow, there's a Black Swan and that's haunted. That's an
- 4:03Speaker 1: and I think the whole time you're talking, I can't
- 4:05Speaker 1: think of the hotel's name we're talking about. By not
- 4:08Speaker 1: it's one of the big ones downtown. But yeah, Hi,
- 4:11Speaker 1: Welcome to the book Watchers. I'm one of your hosts, Devin,
- 4:16Speaker 1: and today we're joined with the one only Pooky. Hi, Pooky.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Oh my god, I'm just going to I'm just gonna
- 4:23Speaker 2: fling myself out of this window right here.
- 4:26Speaker 1: Pooky.
- 4:28Speaker 2: And yes, Hi, my name is Jacob.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Not Pooky, Poky, It's Pooky. It's Pooky future future Jacob,
- 4:36Speaker 1: man of Jacob Future, Jacob's man. You gotta be okay
- 4:40Speaker 1: with me and calling him pooky because that's tough ship, bitch,
- 4:42Speaker 1: that's tough ship.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Future my future man. If you call me pooky, I
- 4:47Speaker 2: swear to God I'll chop your dick off.
- 4:50Speaker 1: I can only call him pooky. He's he'd be a
- 4:53Speaker 1: love of your life, not Pooky. There's a level difference.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Because he's the Poky he he technically can't call me pooky,
- 5:03Speaker 2: but yeah he still does.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Oh, I can call you pooky. People call
- 5:08Speaker 1: their best friends pooky. So I'm gonna call you pooky.
- 5:15Speaker 1: What and deal with it? And why what are you
- 5:18Speaker 1: gonna do about it? We're gonna do nothing. We're gonna
- 5:22Speaker 1: sit there looking cute and adorable, and you're just gonna
- 5:24Speaker 1: You're just gonna mind.
- 5:25Speaker 2: You'd be like, I'm just gonna sit here looking decrepit
- 5:28Speaker 2: and old.
- 5:28Speaker 1: That's what we're doing, okay, because the bitch is coming
- 5:32Speaker 1: to thirty. He's coming up on thirty, and all of
- 5:35Speaker 1: a sudden, he's old in the crepit.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Well, I'm more mad. I'm not mad about turning thirty.
- 5:40Speaker 2: I'm more mad that my fucking birthday is falling on Thanksgiving.
- 5:44Speaker 1: That is true. Your birthday is on Thanksgiving.
- 5:46Speaker 2: And it's surprising. It's surprising too because it's been like
- 5:49Speaker 2: the last time it was in twenty twenty or twenty
- 5:52Speaker 2: twenty one, mm hmmmm, when COVID was still like a bitch.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Yeah, nope, it Oh my god, but I can't wait
- 6:06Speaker 1: till you turn thirty.
- 6:08Speaker 2: No, it was in twenty nineteen. Yeah, it was in
- 6:09Speaker 2: twenty nineteen. That was when my last time my birthday
- 6:12Speaker 2: fell on thanks I can't wait then.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Go on.
- 6:18Speaker 2: And I was gonna say the time before that, it like,
- 6:21Speaker 2: I think it went like almost twenty years without my
- 6:23Speaker 2: birthday falling on Thanksgiving, fell near or around Thanksgiving, never
- 6:32Speaker 2: on Thanksgiving, and then finally it fell on Thanksgiving five
- 6:36Speaker 2: years ago, and now here we are.
- 6:41Speaker 1: Well, I can't wait till you turn thirty, because I
- 6:43Speaker 1: got plans, good plan.
- 6:45Speaker 2: What are you gonna do?
- 6:47Speaker 1: Don't worry about it, don't worry about it. We're gonna
- 6:51Speaker 1: make a roast, go drag all our close friends. We're
- 6:55Speaker 1: gonna come to your house like at the funeral, and
- 6:57Speaker 1: then you're gonna lay on the couch like your dead corpse,
- 6:59Speaker 1: and we're gonna do all. You're gonna do a eulogy,
- 7:02Speaker 1: and we're gonna roast the fuck out of you, and
- 7:06Speaker 1: then we're gonna bury you in the backyard. You know, Oh,
- 7:11Speaker 1: my god, bury you with your godzilla stuff?
- 7:16Speaker 2: What you mean with my God's litle stuff. You're gonna
- 7:18Speaker 2: take it all after I die.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Oh, one hundred and ten, one hundred and ten percent.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Over this stuff.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Oh, there's gonna be no fight. I'm gonna run over
- 7:30Speaker 1: to my car. There'sn't no fight because he is gonna
- 7:34Speaker 1: be dead too. I'm running over over my car. He
- 7:39Speaker 1: might destroy my car, but you know I'm still gonna
- 7:42Speaker 1: get it.
- 7:43Speaker 2: He'll bounce off, Okay, I'll get back up.
- 7:49Speaker 1: He'll bounce off, boing, God boing. No, I'd be very distraught,
- 7:57Speaker 1: like the Coffin's gonna say here lies poogy.
- 8:02Speaker 2: For God, I will haunt your ass.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Here, here lies poogy. Yes, here lies poogy.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Oh my god.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Yeah. Anyway, if you look at the description below, you'll
- 8:16Speaker 1: see a link to the link tree. They'll take it
- 8:18Speaker 1: to the other podcast and for productions failure podcasts. I'm
- 8:24Speaker 1: still waiting on them to reply to me. But if
- 8:28Speaker 1: you're hearing this, oh my god, are we still sponsored
- 8:31Speaker 1: by audible? Wow, we're still sponsored by Audible. It's going
- 8:35Speaker 1: link below and do the Audible thing. Gef free trial
- 8:41Speaker 1: and maybe you actually, I don't know, gay free book
- 8:44Speaker 1: or a book from nine nine cents. I forgot the
- 8:46Speaker 1: Dealvin edded that part out. It's a year. Oh you
- 8:49Speaker 1: get a free book or oh your first books only
- 8:52Speaker 1: niney nine cents. Edit around that. You'll figure it out.
- 8:57Speaker 1: But yeah, so there's a lot of cool books on there.
- 9:01Speaker 1: I mean, today's episode was listen to via Audible by me.
- 9:08Speaker 1: You maybe asking, oh my god, Devin, are you going
- 9:10Speaker 1: to do the continue on the Southern Reach Children trilogy
- 9:15Speaker 1: or books with the second one after Annihilation?
- 9:18Speaker 2: No?
- 9:19Speaker 1: No, I'm not. Maybe they asking yourself, oh my god,
- 9:22Speaker 1: why but you sep We're going to it like I did.
- 9:25Speaker 1: I did, and then I listened to it and for
- 9:28Speaker 1: whatever reason, uh, I am going to go back to it,
- 9:31Speaker 1: trust but I got a little bored. I got a
- 9:36Speaker 1: little bored. Maybe I wasn't in it, maybe I wasn't
- 9:38Speaker 1: feeling it at the time, but I got a little bored.
- 9:40Speaker 1: So don't come for me. Don't be like, oh no,
- 9:45Speaker 1: you're not talking about the book. So good, that's great.
- 9:48Speaker 1: But obviously I wasn't feeling it at the time. So
- 9:50Speaker 1: I got a little bored, and I'm like, I need
- 9:51Speaker 1: something else. So I went to something else. But I
- 9:57Speaker 1: welcome back to the Southern Reach trilogy because I do
- 9:59Speaker 1: want to finish the books as well as the fourth one.
- 10:01Speaker 1: So trust were we will come back, but it might
- 10:04Speaker 1: keep it a little sporadic because I also thought. I
- 10:07Speaker 1: also thought too, we just did finish a series that
- 10:11Speaker 1: was fourteen books long, and there was like five episodes
- 10:15Speaker 1: where it's just that one series back to back to back.
- 10:17Speaker 1: So I thought, you know what, why don't we just
- 10:20Speaker 1: do like a bunch of like one off books everyone
- 10:23Speaker 1: for the next while for a little while. So that's
- 10:25Speaker 1: what we're gonna do, or I want what I'm going
- 10:27Speaker 1: to do, So today we are going to go back
- 10:30Speaker 1: to good old Bram. Now, if you don't know who
- 10:34Speaker 1: Bram is, Brom is a writer and a artist. I
- 10:37Speaker 1: did an episode on one of his books called Slewfoot
- 10:40Speaker 1: back in February of this year. Actually it was episode
- 10:44Speaker 1: fifty eight and I did the episode on Slewfoot by Brom.
- 10:50Speaker 1: And today we're doing the or I'm gonna be talking
- 10:52Speaker 1: about the book Evil in Me by Bram, which is
- 10:56Speaker 1: his newest book that was released back in September, yeah,
- 11:02Speaker 1: September of this year. There's not much information on the
- 11:06Speaker 1: book on the internet. I mean there is, but like
- 11:10Speaker 1: still a fairly new release, so there's not gonna be
- 11:12Speaker 1: a lot on it. It's been about maybe it's been
- 11:15Speaker 1: out a little over a month at the time of
- 11:17Speaker 1: this recording, So bear with it. Now. I am gonna
- 11:24Speaker 1: go off of my memory because I normally would have
- 11:29Speaker 1: a summary that'd be wud be in front of me
- 11:32Speaker 1: to help guide me through the stories, or I would
- 11:34Speaker 1: take notes. Granted I only take nuts on the ones
- 11:37Speaker 1: that are really complicated books like Jacob Wood for like
- 11:39Speaker 1: Real Time. I did not, and I'm like, oh, I
- 11:42Speaker 1: could probably sure I can find a summary and get
- 11:44Speaker 1: get past. Now we're going in cold Turkey. We're going
- 11:46Speaker 1: in raw today. I shouldn't say that because I were
- 11:50Speaker 1: responsible Outlas shouldn't say raw. Devin't cut that out. Future
- 11:53Speaker 1: doesn't cut that part out. We're going in cold Turkey.
- 11:55Speaker 1: We're gonna talk about the book from the top of
- 11:56Speaker 1: my head.
- 11:58Speaker 2: So.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Brom. Evil in Me by Bram is about a girl
- 12:04Speaker 1: named Ruby Turner Tucker. Hit hold up, don't even don't even,
- 12:15Speaker 1: mister unprepared. You're just as unprepared as me. Sometimes. Shut up.
- 12:21Speaker 1: I have the recordings to prove it. Uh So it
- 12:26Speaker 1: is Tucker, Ruby Tucker. Yes, yes, And it takes place
- 12:33Speaker 1: during the eighties. This is during the time period of
- 12:36Speaker 1: punk rock music becoming popular. Uh as people were also
- 12:41Speaker 1: during the whole satan worshiping Satanist craze that was wiping over.
- 12:47Speaker 1: I was coming over the nation, D and D punk music,
- 12:51Speaker 1: rock music, horror films, all that was satanic. The is
- 12:55Speaker 1: during the prime satanic panic of the era. Ruby Tucker's
- 13:00Speaker 1: in her twenties and the story centers around her as
- 13:03Speaker 1: she's in a little town in Alabama, and I'm like, oh, Alabama,
- 13:09Speaker 1: that makes total sense. And I'm like, oh, so it's
- 13:11Speaker 1: gonna It's not Mississippi, but it's next door. So I mean,
- 13:18Speaker 1: I thought somebody could relate a little bit to a
- 13:20Speaker 1: little little town Alabama. Granted somebody here. Poogy was raised
- 13:26Speaker 1: in a little in a big town in a Mississippi.
- 13:30Speaker 2: Yes, that's right. I was.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Unfortunately little place called Greenwood, Mississippi. Y'll suck ooh and
- 13:42Speaker 1: that's all period.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Speaking as a mixed Latina, uh mixed uh Latino, you
- 13:51Speaker 2: guys really do suck. Damn All race racis as fuck,
- 13:56Speaker 2: let me tell you. And I look more, I'm more
- 13:58Speaker 2: white passing, but like my mother is, my mother is
- 14:04Speaker 2: straight up Hispanic, and my brother takes more after her.
- 14:08Speaker 2: So those two had to deal with all them racists.
- 14:12Speaker 2: The only reason why we didn't get chased out of
- 14:14Speaker 2: town was because my dad is a white man who
- 14:16Speaker 2: was serving in the army.
- 14:17Speaker 1: So white they were afraid of him. White on the
- 14:22Speaker 1: mountain from the mountains of Caucasus.
- 14:23Speaker 2: He wore shorts in front of me one time and
- 14:26Speaker 2: his legs were so pale they looked like they were
- 14:28Speaker 2: neon reflectors. Damn, that's how white he is. And when
- 14:34Speaker 2: I saw them, I I reenacted that scene from the
- 14:37Speaker 2: SpongeBob movie.
- 14:38Speaker 3: When nepte uh huh ball, Well, I wasn't chanting ball.
- 14:43Speaker 3: I was going like, I was like white white.
- 14:49Speaker 1: But yeah. It takes place in Alabama, and Ruby, in
- 14:53Speaker 1: her twenties is coming up the end to her probation
- 14:57Speaker 1: because there's this whole storyline that's not that important honestly,
- 15:01Speaker 1: where her and her ex boyfriend, her ex boyfriend Sells
- 15:05Speaker 1: pot Oh married Jawana and she got caught with it
- 15:09Speaker 1: and she got bland for it, so she got put
- 15:11Speaker 1: on probation. So she was working with the local YMCA
- 15:15Speaker 1: to do community service for it, and she was teaching
- 15:19Speaker 1: kids how to play guitar, and of course they found
- 15:22Speaker 1: out that she was doing music on the more punk
- 15:26Speaker 1: side of things, and people thought she was a devil worshiper,
- 15:30Speaker 1: and the person person in charge of the YMCA was like,
- 15:34Speaker 1: where do Christian stuff here? Because it fuck that. So
- 15:42Speaker 1: apparently she was doing real well with the kids. The
- 15:47Speaker 1: parents of the kids said that they were doing she
- 15:49Speaker 1: was doing really well. Of course Ruby never knew about
- 15:52Speaker 1: that because they Ruby was told by her boss. I
- 15:55Speaker 1: can't think of the person's name again, She's not that
- 15:57Speaker 1: important that she parents were complaining that she was teaching
- 16:04Speaker 1: them devil music when reality she wasn't getting complained on.
- 16:07Speaker 1: People were asking her to teach to teach their kids
- 16:13Speaker 1: privately so she can make money off. But she was
- 16:16Speaker 1: never told that, so she thought. So she thinks one
- 16:19Speaker 1: thing while everyone else is telling her something else. And
- 16:22Speaker 1: the way people are kind of back but kind of
- 16:24Speaker 1: shady and two handed towards her. That seems to be
- 16:28Speaker 1: a lot that's happening in her life due to her
- 16:31Speaker 1: the fact that she's kind of she's kind of a weirdo.
- 16:35Speaker 1: She's kind of the punk rock side of things. I mean,
- 16:37Speaker 1: she wouldn't okay, so in a school setting and say,
- 16:42Speaker 1: you're in high school again, if you were you went
- 16:44Speaker 1: to high school in twenty tens, these kids would be
- 16:48Speaker 1: in the in the skater group. That's the I guess
- 16:52Speaker 1: the modern day equivalent to a punker would be like
- 16:55Speaker 1: a skater kid or like the kids that would all
- 16:57Speaker 1: hang out with, like the nerds and stuff. That's like
- 17:00Speaker 1: that group. And they looked down on her for that
- 17:04Speaker 1: thincause she's some rapscallion, some stanic. It's just buffoonery. And
- 17:15Speaker 1: everyone in her life from the person she was volunteering
- 17:18Speaker 1: with for the y m c A to her stepdad,
- 17:20Speaker 1: to her stepbrother, but her step or not step brother,
- 17:27Speaker 1: her boy her mom's boy her step soon to be
- 17:30Speaker 1: stepdad's son, because she's engaged her her mom is engaged
- 17:36Speaker 1: to another man named Ledualdo because her dad died after
- 17:40Speaker 1: he yes, uh, her actual dad little backstory, Uh, oh
- 17:51Speaker 1: my god, I'm gonna try trigger warning kills himself because
- 17:56Speaker 1: of he was a Vietnam veteran and he went through
- 17:59Speaker 1: a lot after Vietnam, and yeah he didn't uh, yeah,
- 18:07Speaker 1: he ended up committing suicide. But because of that, there's
- 18:12Speaker 1: a whole disdain between Ruby and her mom, and she
- 18:15Speaker 1: blames her mom for why her dad kill killed himself.
- 18:19Speaker 1: And now her current boyfriend she doesn't like really and
- 18:23Speaker 1: her boyfriend, her mom's boyfriend's son, is a fucking creeper
- 18:29Speaker 1: to the max. He tries to take pictures of her,
- 18:32Speaker 1: of Ruby inappropriately, very inappropriately, to the point where it
- 18:41Speaker 1: I'm not gonna go into detail with it because I
- 18:44Speaker 1: don't want to for the not so for the second,
- 18:46Speaker 1: not for the fact that goes in detail in the book,
- 18:48Speaker 1: because it really doesn't, but for the fact that I'm
- 18:50Speaker 1: not going to describe that for the pod because I
- 18:53Speaker 1: just don't want to. But now that he was taking that,
- 18:57Speaker 1: this child is teenager. Young teenager would take it very
- 19:00Speaker 1: inappropriate pictures we're trying to of Ruby. So and on
- 19:07Speaker 1: top of all that, she also takes part of her
- 19:11Speaker 1: life and she spends time with an old man named Josh. Now,
- 19:15Speaker 1: this old man is slowly losing his memory. He's I
- 19:18Speaker 1: think he has Alzheimer's. I don't know if they actually
- 19:21Speaker 1: I don't remember that they actually said he has old
- 19:22Speaker 1: Teimers or not. They might because he sounds like he does.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Because he starts losing his memories as time goes on.
- 19:28Speaker 2: Eating Alzheimer's or dementia.
- 19:32Speaker 1: It was one of the two. I think the thing
- 19:33Speaker 1: might have been dementia. But nonetheless, she spends a lot
- 19:36Speaker 1: of time with this old man because she finds him
- 19:38Speaker 1: interesting and fun to be around, and he needs somebody
- 19:41Speaker 1: to help take care of him outside of his daughter,
- 19:43Speaker 1: whose name is Pam. So she spends a lot of
- 19:45Speaker 1: time with Josh. And Josh is kind of a pack
- 19:49Speaker 1: rat and he has a lot of boxes and shit
- 19:51Speaker 1: running around about. So one day she comes in to
- 19:55Speaker 1: hang to hang out with them, what she normally does.
- 19:57Speaker 1: And he's looking for a particular red box and she's like, okay,
- 20:00Speaker 1: let's try to find it. Of course, she doesn't know
- 20:03Speaker 1: what the hell he's talking about. She thinks he's having
- 20:05Speaker 1: one of his episodes. And she finds this red box
- 20:09Speaker 1: that has a ring in it, ring inside of it,
- 20:12Speaker 1: and this ring gets slept like a little spider, crawls
- 20:17Speaker 1: up to her hand and digs itself into her finger,
- 20:23Speaker 1: and it has an eyeball on the ring. Yeah, the
- 20:31Speaker 1: eyeball blinks, and just so she gets attached with this
- 20:35Speaker 1: ring that has an eyeball on it, and everyone they're
- 20:38Speaker 1: all freaking out, and eventually she kind of gets stuck
- 20:43Speaker 1: with it. So then she gets possessed by whatever's in it.
- 20:52Speaker 1: Now that is the TLDR of it all, because a
- 20:58Speaker 1: lot of the details is not the important to point it.
- 21:01Speaker 1: She gets stuck with the ring, and then there's what
- 21:02Speaker 1: they call a shadow person in the in the ring
- 21:05Speaker 1: then possesses her, so she has His name is Bill.
- 21:10Speaker 1: Bill is a shadow person that is under the control
- 21:12Speaker 1: of Lord Shieldbeth. Lord Chielbeth is a demon in hell.
- 21:18Speaker 1: This is the Possession. This is a possession story. Adds
- 21:20Speaker 1: core with Ruby being possessed by a by a shadow
- 21:24Speaker 1: person who, as it described, a show person is is
- 21:27Speaker 1: a is a incomplete person by created by God. So
- 21:32Speaker 1: this book really pulls from Judaism, Judaism, judas and mythology, Judaism,
- 21:40Speaker 1: Jewish mystic lore and stuff. It deals with all that.
- 21:45Speaker 1: It's it's quite interesting on how they kind of go
- 21:49Speaker 1: deal with that because Josh is not necessarily a Jewish mystic,
- 21:54Speaker 1: but his brother was, and he still had a bunch
- 21:57Speaker 1: of these bunch of these relics his brother had. Of course,
- 22:01Speaker 1: back in the day there were these bunch of these
- 22:02Speaker 1: Jewish mystics a former group to trap these demons and
- 22:06Speaker 1: whatever else, and one of them got out in the
- 22:09Speaker 1: fifties because in the beginning of they talk about fifty scenario
- 22:12Speaker 1: where a guy has the ring as well, he ends
- 22:15Speaker 1: up killing, killing and burning down people in a Jewish
- 22:19Speaker 1: synagogue and all of that, and the ring gets up
- 22:22Speaker 1: and leaves, and then of course thirty years later comes
- 22:24Speaker 1: back and of course now it's on Ruby. So Ruby
- 22:28Speaker 1: is now trying to figure out what the hell is
- 22:30Speaker 1: going on with her because her anger is exploding more
- 22:35Speaker 1: than usual, and she's like this is weird. I don't
- 22:40Speaker 1: think this is not I think. I don't think this
- 22:42Speaker 1: is the fact I'm not taking my med meds from
- 22:44Speaker 1: my mental health. I think this is something going something
- 22:47Speaker 1: more going on here. So she starts digging into it more.
- 22:50Speaker 1: Josh finds out and she's like, oh shit, I have
- 22:53Speaker 1: this ringstoke on me. And Drege's like, oh fuck, we
- 22:56Speaker 1: need to go to Atlanta. I know a guy that
- 22:59Speaker 1: can help us get that ring off of you, but
- 23:02Speaker 1: we need to go to Atlanta to do it. Or Berry,
- 23:05Speaker 1: I mean, because here was going to go Atlanta. He
- 23:07Speaker 1: already asked for me to go to Atlanta anyway to
- 23:09Speaker 1: drop off the ring and the other relics. But then
- 23:11Speaker 1: she got the ring, He's like, yeah, we got to
- 23:13Speaker 1: go to Atlanta now. And on top of that, Atlanta
- 23:17Speaker 1: has another importance to Ruby because before the story began,
- 23:21Speaker 1: Ruby was in a band called the Nightmares, and her
- 23:25Speaker 1: band and her friend in the band, Tina, moved over
- 23:30Speaker 1: to Atlanta, and she never did because she was waiting
- 23:33Speaker 1: on a man to be able to move over there
- 23:36Speaker 1: with him, but he never did and they end up
- 23:38Speaker 1: breaking up anyway, and that's the boyfriend that was selling pot,
- 23:42Speaker 1: and she got in trouble for it, and now she's
- 23:44Speaker 1: on probation. She can't leave the state, let alone the
- 23:49Speaker 1: county because she's on probation. So everything else full, everything's
- 23:53Speaker 1: full circle. So when she has the ring, she finally
- 23:56Speaker 1: just leans into the rage because Biale kind kind of
- 24:02Speaker 1: manifest her rage to be a lot worse than it
- 24:05Speaker 1: really is. So she got got I don't know, at
- 24:09Speaker 1: the y n C. I don't know why the fuck
- 24:11Speaker 1: they would have tar like black tar. She got like
- 24:15Speaker 1: a bucket of black tar, threw it on her ex
- 24:17Speaker 1: boyfriend and his current girlfriend, and I'm just like she
- 24:23Speaker 1: did what they lived, I mean obviously, but like they're
- 24:26Speaker 1: just covered in tar, and she's like, yeah, they're gonna
- 24:30Speaker 1: have to shave their heads and they're gonna be scar
- 24:33Speaker 1: They're gonna be like they're gonna it's gonna be painting
- 24:35Speaker 1: the ass to get that off your skin and hair.
- 24:38Speaker 1: So yeah, she covered them in tar and they were
- 24:40Speaker 1: at while they were at the swim pool and the YMCA,
- 24:43Speaker 1: and then she went in took some tar to the
- 24:45Speaker 1: to her boss because her boss likes to flaunt that
- 24:48Speaker 1: she's a prize artist that has paintings that want awards
- 24:53Speaker 1: and ship, and once she did, she took some tar
- 24:55Speaker 1: and smeared it on the paintings. So then she left.
- 25:01Speaker 1: She's like, oh shit, I'm in trouble. I'm not getting
- 25:03Speaker 1: off probation now I'm fucked. So she ran went back home,
- 25:07Speaker 1: packed up her shit. She's like, fuck it, I'm going
- 25:09Speaker 1: to Atlanta. And then her mom's boyfriend's son came in
- 25:15Speaker 1: threatened her if he doesn't do what if she doesn't
- 25:18Speaker 1: do what he asks, she will make it seem like
- 25:22Speaker 1: he hit her and get her sent back to prison. Now,
- 25:26Speaker 1: as far as what he was asking, you used your
- 25:27Speaker 1: context cluse. I'm not going to explain it because it's
- 25:29Speaker 1: fucking disgusting. So she basically she takes his camera, smashing
- 25:35Speaker 1: his face into it, puts some knocks him on the ground,
- 25:38Speaker 1: stamps on his jewels, literally beats the ship up, and
- 25:45Speaker 1: I'm like, you know what, girl, he deserved that. You
- 25:47Speaker 1: deserve that. It was a pig, you deserve that. And
- 25:50Speaker 1: then of course he ran ran to his daddy as
- 25:54Speaker 1: a bloody mess, and she's like, oh fuck this shit.
- 25:57Speaker 1: She left. Then she's under control of the ring, which
- 26:03Speaker 1: Lord Shilbeth is controlling her through the eye because the ring,
- 26:06Speaker 1: the eye on the ring is Lord Shilbeth's or the
- 26:09Speaker 1: demon's other eye, because she had one eye cut out,
- 26:12Speaker 1: so that's where the eye is on the ring. So
- 26:14Speaker 1: you can see whatever we're be seeing through the ring.
- 26:17Speaker 1: And she's possessed by Boel and Sheilbeth, and she goes
- 26:22Speaker 1: and tries to kill the Wizard, which is as she's
- 26:26Speaker 1: told Josh. So the demons tell her, oh, you need
- 26:30Speaker 1: to kill the fucking wizard. The wizard is trying to
- 26:32Speaker 1: kill you. So she takes a hammer and starts trying
- 26:34Speaker 1: to kill Josh with it after sneaking into his apartment,
- 26:38Speaker 1: and she hits him with a hammer and she injures him,
- 26:41Speaker 1: doesn't kill him, and then he puts this red wax
- 26:45Speaker 1: material on the ring to shield a public a layer
- 26:51Speaker 1: of film over the ring, so shield Beth. Lord Shilbeth,
- 26:55Speaker 1: who is from the mountains of Caucasus, which is funny.
- 27:01Speaker 1: She's Caucasian, straight from the mountains of Caucasus.
- 27:05Speaker 2: Which is funny because there the Mountains of Caucasus is
- 27:08Speaker 2: a real place.
- 27:09Speaker 1: I know, I know, and so I was like, not
- 27:15Speaker 1: the Mountains of Caucasus. So that's what if you find
- 27:22Speaker 1: out about you find out a little more about sheil Beth,
- 27:24Speaker 1: that she was sealed away by these Jewish mystics and
- 27:27Speaker 1: she wants to be released back into the world and
- 27:31Speaker 1: she doesn't. Okay, she kind of seems bad, but at
- 27:33Speaker 1: the same time she does it because the book kind
- 27:35Speaker 1: of makes you think one kind of like, oh, she's
- 27:38Speaker 1: peer evil and at some points you're like, oh, no,
- 27:40Speaker 1: she's not, because she's also a healer and she takes
- 27:45Speaker 1: care of her u subjects, or she says she does
- 27:49Speaker 1: if she actually does this tv s because Bill doesn't
- 27:52Speaker 1: like her or trust her at all, because Bill, as
- 27:55Speaker 1: a shadow person, was also sent to Hell and burned
- 27:58Speaker 1: in the flames of the demons and Ruby. So a
- 28:06Speaker 1: little more about the ring before going any further, because
- 28:08Speaker 1: I'm gonna I'm kind of scattered brained. I'm thinking stuff
- 28:11Speaker 1: as I'm going. So the ring she has on her
- 28:14Speaker 1: finger outside I had a connection to she'll Beth Lord's Shellbeth.
- 28:17Speaker 1: She also has a connection to the worms now in
- 28:21Speaker 1: Hell and she'll Beth's belly. There are these worms with
- 28:26Speaker 1: human faces. Now these worms sing a song, and this
- 28:30Speaker 1: song is what's controlling Ruby or whoever's wearing the ring
- 28:35Speaker 1: and a song, and the ring taint Ruby taint. So
- 28:49Speaker 1: I put it. I was like, let's say, to the
- 28:51Speaker 1: audio recording, it's like there's a taint, and I'm like
- 28:54Speaker 1: that taint. So there's a taint on Ruby that all
- 28:59Speaker 1: tracked either ghosts or wicked people, demons, whatever, towards her
- 29:05Speaker 1: like a like a fucking light, a mock to a light,
- 29:09Speaker 1: and that comes into play throughout the whole fucking thing.
- 29:13Speaker 1: So at that point, she starts leaving for Atlanta, and
- 29:16Speaker 1: then we jump to another character. His name is Dick,
- 29:21Speaker 1: or he's liked to be called Dick, but his name
- 29:23Speaker 1: is Richard. Now. Richard is a fifty seven year old
- 29:26Speaker 1: man who got bored with his life and decided to
- 29:29Speaker 1: become a serial killer because he was bored. This man
- 29:36Speaker 1: is the worst fucking man ever imaginable. He's wicked, evil
- 29:39Speaker 1: to the to the point of return. He knows he's evil.
- 29:42Speaker 1: He says he's doing evil because he's bored and killing
- 29:46Speaker 1: killing young women gives him a little boost in life.
- 29:50Speaker 1: And I'm like, you're fucking disgusting. So we follow with
- 29:54Speaker 1: him as he kills off a few girls here and there,
- 29:57Speaker 1: and he eventually gets drawn to Ruby because of the rain,
- 30:00Speaker 1: because of the taint, that taint because he hears the
- 30:03Speaker 1: worm's song and she and he is drawn to Ruby.
- 30:07Speaker 1: So when she gets to Atlanta, he's fallen right behind
- 30:10Speaker 1: her because he's infactuated with her, and he doesn't think
- 30:14Speaker 1: it's a demon's work. He thinks it's sent by God
- 30:17Speaker 1: to kill that he has to kill this woman, this Ruby,
- 30:21Speaker 1: because God's telling him to do do so, which is
- 30:25Speaker 1: fucking insane. So they get to Atlanta, they get to
- 30:29Speaker 1: that Jewish mystic or that guy that can help them
- 30:32Speaker 1: with that josh one to see in the first place.
- 30:34Speaker 1: They get there, they try to a ritual to get
- 30:37Speaker 1: off the ring. But what happens is they end up
- 30:41Speaker 1: using what they call a spirit bowl for the ritual.
- 30:46Speaker 1: But what they don't realize it wasn't as spirit bowl
- 30:48Speaker 1: they were using. They were using a demon bowl, which
- 30:51Speaker 1: means they opened up the door to Hell and then
- 30:55Speaker 1: demons came out, and they also got gathered a bunch
- 30:58Speaker 1: of spirit a bunch of ghosts in the spell building
- 31:00Speaker 1: to help try and make a spell for Ruby to
- 31:03Speaker 1: take the ring off. So there are a bunch of
- 31:04Speaker 1: spirits everywhere in this full room, and then demons come in.
- 31:07Speaker 1: They start ripping the ghost apart like damn, and then
- 31:14Speaker 1: they burn. And then the demons burn the place to
- 31:16Speaker 1: the ground with Josh and David, the guy he was
- 31:21Speaker 1: trying to give the relics to. So the two old people,
- 31:24Speaker 1: two old men die. Ruby's by herself and she's now
- 31:30Speaker 1: and she finds Tina explains the situation that Tina. Tina's like, well, shit,
- 31:36Speaker 1: now you have your song or the spell. Let's make
- 31:39Speaker 1: into an actual song and perform it live in front
- 31:43Speaker 1: of people because we can get because people might be
- 31:45Speaker 1: able to channel the magic like spirits can. So I mean,
- 31:49Speaker 1: all you need is a soul, so maybe people can
- 31:51Speaker 1: do it. Say try that. It doesn't it gets a
- 31:54Speaker 1: little stronger, but they need more power. She's like, cool,
- 31:57Speaker 1: let's put it on the radio. While all that's happening,
- 32:01Speaker 1: a demon does come out of help try and kill her,
- 32:05Speaker 1: but he gets some of the angel blood or that
- 32:08Speaker 1: red wax on his forehead that leaves a scar, and
- 32:13Speaker 1: he's able to control his actions. So she becomes friends
- 32:15Speaker 1: with a demon name Oh god, I can't think of
- 32:21Speaker 1: the demon's name, Volt vow Volt. It's the v God.
- 32:29Speaker 1: It's gonna piss me off because I love that character.
- 32:34Speaker 1: I think it's vol Anyway, there's a demon that bibe
- 32:39Speaker 1: of a monkey in the head of like it's a
- 32:41Speaker 1: magamation of animals, has a whole face and summit face
- 32:44Speaker 1: and mouthline the stomach. It's weird, it's cool. But he
- 32:49Speaker 1: joins the band and he's the drummer for the band
- 32:51Speaker 1: because he's also one of Lord Shilbeth's drummers. So as
- 32:56Speaker 1: the story goes on leading up to this point where
- 32:59Speaker 1: they're trying to per formed the spell or aka their
- 33:03Speaker 1: song which is called Evil in Me and Shield Beeth
- 33:08Speaker 1: is slowly getting power back because the red wax or
- 33:11Speaker 1: the angel's blood on the ring is slowly coming off,
- 33:15Speaker 1: so she's slowly getting more influence on Ruby as well
- 33:18Speaker 1: as everyone else or everyone wicked. And then of course
- 33:23Speaker 1: Richard gets ever so closer to Ruby. The first interaction
- 33:31Speaker 1: that Ruby and Richard had Ruby was I'm trying to remember.
- 33:38Speaker 1: Ruby came across Richard try attack Ruby, and Ruby and
- 33:42Speaker 1: her friend Tina fought him off and he ran away defeated.
- 33:47Speaker 1: And the second time is when she went to the club.
- 33:50Speaker 1: First performance at the club at a punk rock club
- 33:54Speaker 1: and she performed the song and then the plays caught
- 33:56Speaker 1: on fire because Richard threw in hot cocktails mol cocktails
- 34:01Speaker 1: into the bar and said everything ablaze, And when she
- 34:06Speaker 1: got out, heran Tina got out, Richard came up and
- 34:10Speaker 1: just suck her and he was going to kill her
- 34:14Speaker 1: so and when that happened, her mother's boyfriend caught up
- 34:20Speaker 1: to them and was trying to take her back home,
- 34:23Speaker 1: but he ended up getting shot and killed by Richard.
- 34:27Speaker 1: Which turns out the guy at Lardo is not that
- 34:30Speaker 1: bad of a guy actually, because throughout the story he
- 34:32Speaker 1: kind of he kind of changes his demeanor a little
- 34:35Speaker 1: bit because he's trying. He's always doing, is trying to
- 34:38Speaker 1: look for her purpose in life. He's trying to help Ruby,
- 34:41Speaker 1: even though he's going about I would say he's going
- 34:43Speaker 1: about the wrong way, but towards the end hands of
- 34:45Speaker 1: being a decent guy. But he ends up getting shot
- 34:48Speaker 1: like four times by Richard and killed instantly. And then
- 34:52Speaker 1: of course Richard drives off of Ruby and Ruby's in
- 34:57Speaker 1: the back of a white van, typical white van, and
- 35:01Speaker 1: she gets, oh god, I'm not gonna go in detail
- 35:05Speaker 1: with this either, but te Al the r details, he
- 35:11Speaker 1: takes a nice pick, stabs her several times, drinks a
- 35:13Speaker 1: bunch of her blood. She's on the verge of death
- 35:17Speaker 1: because of all the blood she lost and he apparently
- 35:19Speaker 1: he decided to drink and she's on the verge of
- 35:24Speaker 1: death and the power of the magic from the song
- 35:27Speaker 1: because the song was playing on the radio and when
- 35:30Speaker 1: people listen to the song, they cant efactuated by it,
- 35:34Speaker 1: so they get they feel the magic and they want
- 35:37Speaker 1: to sing along. So they're playing on the radio and
- 35:41Speaker 1: thousands of people are listening to it, and Ruby's feeling
- 35:44Speaker 1: the magic and she could finally take the ring off,
- 35:47Speaker 1: but Buale, the shadow person inside of her that is
- 35:51Speaker 1: trying to escape and save her and Ruby or him
- 35:53Speaker 1: and Ruby from Richard Shield. Beth's contact gets a hold
- 35:59Speaker 1: of Buell and says, let me free. I will save her,
- 36:05Speaker 1: let me free from this ring, and I will save Ruby,
- 36:10Speaker 1: and gets you out of the situation. She's like, how
- 36:12Speaker 1: can I trust you? You're a demon from hell? How
- 36:15Speaker 1: do I know you're not just gonna just gonna slip
- 36:17Speaker 1: my throat, slit our throats and leave us for dead.
- 36:20Speaker 1: And she's like, what other option? Do you got And
- 36:23Speaker 1: I'm a person, I'm a demon of my I'm a
- 36:25Speaker 1: woman on my word. So Beale lets shield Beth free.
- 36:32Speaker 1: And sheil Beth is a comes into the van but
- 36:39Speaker 1: ass naked. She has a hole in her stomach full
- 36:42Speaker 1: of these worms. Demon looking as hell hell, just disgusting looking.
- 36:47Speaker 1: And Richard's like, what the fuck? And then she takes
- 36:50Speaker 1: Richard and shoves his head into the hole with the worms,
- 36:53Speaker 1: and he gets devoured from like the head down because
- 36:56Speaker 1: she shoves this whole body into her and he gets
- 36:58Speaker 1: devoured by the worms and dies, and she saves. She
- 37:02Speaker 1: saves her be like she says she was going to,
- 37:04Speaker 1: and she ends up going taking her to a pond
- 37:08Speaker 1: and releasing the taint. Giggdy, what my aunt's here?
- 37:15Speaker 2: Uh oh oh, I think she's just dropping something off.
- 37:20Speaker 1: I thank Christ, Thank Christ.
- 37:25Speaker 2: It's nice seeing her every now and then, but I
- 37:27Speaker 2: hate it when she just drops in and then because
- 37:29Speaker 2: like right now, we haven't cleaned the house.
- 37:30Speaker 1: In a bit, and you just don't want to deal
- 37:34Speaker 1: with it.
- 37:34Speaker 4: I don't want to deal with it like mostime, sh
- 37:38Speaker 4: is their mess. And then she gonna come in and
- 37:42Speaker 4: she didn't see it like you guys got to clean
- 37:44Speaker 4: up more.
- 37:44Speaker 2: And I'm like, been busy.
- 37:49Speaker 1: Yeah, well now that.
- 37:50Speaker 2: I'm I'm gonna be now that I'm working from home.
- 37:52Speaker 2: She'll oh, well, she's just she's living. Thank god. I'll
- 37:58Speaker 2: have to listen to her a pitch about it. Okay, sorry, continue.
- 38:03Speaker 1: No, you're fine. For Richard, guys, Ruby gets to Tank
- 38:06Speaker 1: taking off her gigey and that's pretty much the end
- 38:11Speaker 1: of the story. I mean, she probably she goes back home,
- 38:15Speaker 1: but she probably will spend some time in jail for
- 38:18Speaker 1: the incident that she did cause with the tar and
- 38:22Speaker 1: the assault. And but she she's like, you know what,
- 38:26Speaker 1: it's fine, it's Gucci, I'm not possessed no more. I'll
- 38:28Speaker 1: take her like six months to a year in prison
- 38:30Speaker 1: and not be free. And it kind of the book
- 38:33Speaker 1: kind of just ends there. But if you listen to
- 38:36Speaker 1: the audiobook, there's an actual song that that they made
- 38:41Speaker 1: for the book. That's the song is called like the
- 38:46Speaker 1: book states Evil in Me by the Maxines, so you
- 38:50Speaker 1: can actually I'm sure the song is actually on Spotify.
- 38:53Speaker 1: That's a pretty good song. But the audiobook is so good.
- 39:00Speaker 1: I mean, it's the typical bram audiobook. It's fantastic. And
- 39:03Speaker 1: at the very very end, after ruby story is said
- 39:06Speaker 1: and done, we jump over to Richard. As you find out,
- 39:10Speaker 1: Richard's now one of the worms inside shei'ld best belly,
- 39:14Speaker 1: and he's singing that terrible song, the horror fining song
- 39:17Speaker 1: that all the worms and her body are screaming. So
- 39:22Speaker 1: now Richard or Dick is a little worm with a
- 39:25Speaker 1: human face. That's kind of disturbing. But that's I mean,
- 39:31Speaker 1: that's the main gist of the book. I mean, I
- 39:34Speaker 1: know it didn't go in that detail, but that luded
- 39:37Speaker 1: was just the book. It's her journey in trying to
- 39:39Speaker 1: get this ring off of her and not releasing Lord Sheelbeth,
- 39:44Speaker 1: but they end up doing it anyway to save her
- 39:46Speaker 1: and so on and so forth. It's a good read.
- 39:48Speaker 1: So I would highly recommend it to anybody. If you
- 39:52Speaker 1: like bram Stuff, slew Foot, Lost Gods, The Child Thief,
- 39:59Speaker 1: go go listen to Evil and Me especially like punk music,
- 40:03Speaker 1: punk rock.
- 40:04Speaker 2: Mm hm.
- 40:06Speaker 1: But yeah, that's today's episode.
- 40:09Speaker 3: Woo.
- 40:12Speaker 1: I don't know what book I'm gonna do next week.
- 40:14Speaker 1: I might do a song on Achilles, I might do
- 40:15Speaker 1: something else. I don't know.
- 40:17Speaker 2: Yeah, it's gonna be a while before I pick a
- 40:20Speaker 2: next book, because after a Real Time I'm now trying
- 40:23Speaker 2: to figure out, like, Okay, what are we reading next,
- 40:26Speaker 2: because I've read several books so far since finishing Real Time,
- 40:32Speaker 2: Like I just read Fractal Noise by Chris Christopher Palini,
- 40:37Speaker 2: and I think we might end up doing to Sleep
- 40:40Speaker 2: Within a Sea of Stars sometime in the coming future.
- 40:44Speaker 1: Did we do that? Did we did we hold out?
- 40:48Speaker 2: I don't remember. I feel like we've done the Inheritance cycle,
- 40:52Speaker 2: Yes we did, and we were talking about I think
- 40:56Speaker 2: we were supposed to wait because I think they announced
- 40:58Speaker 2: that they were either going to make a movie or
- 41:00Speaker 2: a TV show off of To Sleep Within the City
- 41:02Speaker 2: of Stars or was that.
- 41:07Speaker 1: I don't know. Okay, Green Creek, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, Fairytale,
- 41:13Speaker 1: Bare Oader and the Kid Dark Elf trilogy, slew Foot,
- 41:18Speaker 1: the thing between Us American Gods, Godzilla, God's Oliver. It's again,
- 41:22Speaker 1: well we have a time ten billion books? Uh? Straight?
- 41:29Speaker 1: The Fourth Wing? Did I did we not do the
- 41:35Speaker 1: second book? Which book the Fourth Wing? We know we had.
- 41:41Speaker 2: I don't think we did yet because it just came
- 41:43Speaker 2: out or like it was about come out.
- 41:47Speaker 1: I don't remember did I not do the Iron Flame?
- 41:52Speaker 2: Because I only remember you talking about like, yeah, they
- 41:56Speaker 2: discovered what's outside, uh, like the barriers of the country,
- 42:01Speaker 2: like there's a rebellion, like living on the outskirts, and
- 42:05Speaker 2: that outside the walls are like the drakes or like
- 42:10Speaker 2: I'm sorry, the why burns. Yeah, they're created from like
- 42:14Speaker 2: dark magic or something. But we I don't think we
- 42:16Speaker 2: actually talked about the sequel.
- 42:19Speaker 1: Because I know she released both November, because she did
- 42:24Speaker 1: release Yes, I did talk about the first one. I
- 42:28Speaker 1: could just want to talk about the second one. I
- 42:31Speaker 1: guess I didn't. Hm, well, I might do that at
- 42:36Speaker 1: some point. Then. Oh, I think I know why I don't.
- 42:39Speaker 1: I think I know why I didn't do Iron Flame
- 42:41Speaker 1: because I think I was waiting for the to be
- 42:43Speaker 1: closer to the third one, because the third one doesn't
- 42:46Speaker 1: come out until next year unfortunately. Yeah. Because I could
- 42:52Speaker 1: have sworn I did Iron Flame, I guess I didn't.
- 42:54Speaker 2: We we did Dead Silence, right, No, we have not
- 42:58Speaker 2: done Dead Silence yet.
- 43:00Speaker 1: You both read it, but we have not done that
- 43:01Speaker 1: book yet, okay, And we we did do The Ring.
- 43:05Speaker 2: I remember that.
- 43:07Speaker 1: We did the first one.
- 43:09Speaker 5: Yeah, okay, so liked I have like three books that
- 43:15Speaker 5: I'm juggling right now, well technically two, but I'm planning
- 43:18Speaker 5: like actually just two.
- 43:19Speaker 1: But no, we did we did a couple of the
- 43:23Speaker 1: Ring mango. We didn't actually do the Ring books yet.
- 43:27Speaker 2: Oh you were waiting for what to I was waiting.
- 43:29Speaker 1: I was waiting to get through more of them before
- 43:31Speaker 1: we tackled the Ring series, because we did two of
- 43:35Speaker 1: the side mangos that they've released recently, but we have
- 43:38Speaker 1: not done like the first Ring okay per se mm hmm, God,
- 43:45Speaker 1: I could have swar Huh, I guess I didn't. Oh, well,
- 43:50Speaker 1: more the more you know. But yeah, so more books
- 43:58Speaker 1: are gonna be on the way. I just have not
- 44:00Speaker 1: to saide what I'm to do next week. Uh, the
- 44:03Speaker 1: Southern Reach series will be continued, but that will be
- 44:06Speaker 1: later on. I might have this spread out preoctally kind
- 44:12Speaker 1: of sprinkled them out. But yeah, So thank you all
- 44:16Speaker 1: for listening to's episode. Catch us next time as I
- 44:19Speaker 1: figure out what I'm gonna talk about next. So then
- 44:23Speaker 1: bye bye
