The Case is Made on the SAA, When the Bible Becomes a Campaign Prop and a Liberal Icon César Chávez Week In Review · The 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson

• 0:00
Speaker 1: Welcome in his verdict with Ted Cruz the Weekend Review,
• 0:02
Speaker 1: Ben Ferguson with you, and here are the big stories
• 0:04
Speaker 1: that you may have missed that we talked about this week.
• 0:07
Speaker 1: First up, Senator Cruz lays out why the Save America
• 0:11
Speaker 1: Act is vital to our nation's voting integrity. Also a
• 0:16
Speaker 1: showdown in Texas. So who is James tell Rico? We
• 0:19
Speaker 1: explain it. And finally, the liberal icon and hero of
• 0:23
Speaker 1: the left, Caesar Chavez. Well, now the New York Times
• 0:27
Speaker 1: is saying he's a child rapist. It's the Weekend Review
• 0:30
Speaker 1: and it starts right now. So Senator, let's talk about
• 0:34
Speaker 1: just first the lay of the land and how we
• 0:37
Speaker 1: got to where we are day and the vote. There's
• 0:39
Speaker 1: a lot of people wondering what the vote was to
• 0:41
Speaker 1: move this forward, So now there's debate, and so tell
• 0:44
Speaker 1: us who didn't vote for this on the Republican side.
• 0:47
Speaker 1: It was a very tight vote, and also explain what's
• 0:50
Speaker 1: going to happen over the rest of this week.
• 0:53
Speaker 2: Well, the vote on the Senate floor to take up
• 0:55
Speaker 2: the Save America Act was fifty one to forty seven,
• 0:58
Speaker 2: so fifty one Republicans voter to take it up. The
• 1:01
Speaker 2: only no vote was Lisa Murkowski out of Alaska. And
• 1:05
Speaker 2: then Tom Tillis from North Carolina, who is retiring, did
• 1:08
Speaker 2: not vote, so he was not a no vote, but
• 1:10
Speaker 2: he didn't vote. Other than that, every Republican voter to
• 1:13
Speaker 2: take it up. And we're now in the midst of
• 1:15
Speaker 2: the battle. Now we can anticipate the Democrats are a
• 1:19
Speaker 2: hard no. And so we're taking the case to the
• 1:21
Speaker 2: American people and trying to build support for it. And
• 1:24
Speaker 2: so I went to the Senate Florida lay out the
• 1:26
Speaker 2: case for why the Save of America Act is so
• 1:29
Speaker 2: critical and why the opposition for the Democrats is so ridiculous.
• 1:34
Speaker 2: And so here's what I had to say on the
• 1:36
Speaker 2: floor of the Senate this week.
• 1:39
  Speaker 3: As president.
• 1:41
Speaker 2: Later this year, American citizens across the country will exercise
• 1:45
Speaker 2: one of their most valuable and sacred.
• 1:47
Speaker 3: Rights, the right to vote.
• 1:50
Speaker 2: A right that has been hard earned and fought for
• 1:53
Speaker 2: from the founding generation of our republic to today. And
• 1:59
Speaker 2: how is the right to self government, the right to
• 2:01
Speaker 2: vote secured? It was secured by American colonists who rejected
• 2:08
Speaker 2: the royal edict and hurdled Tea into Boston Harbor, declaring
• 2:13
Speaker 2: no taxation without representation.
• 2:17
Speaker 3: It was secured by.
• 2:18
Speaker 2: Ordinary men who seized their muskets and fired the shot
• 2:22
Speaker 2: heard round the world at Lexington and Concord. It was
• 2:27
Speaker 2: secured by Continental troops who marched to the fields of
• 2:33
Speaker 2: Saratoga and the coastline of Yorktown, repeating those immortal words
• 2:39
Speaker 2: of Patrick Henry, give me liberty or give me death.
• 2:45
Speaker 2: For nearly two hundred and fifty years, Americans have cast
• 2:48
Speaker 2: their votes for leaders at every level, from local officials
• 2:53
Speaker 2: to state representatives to the President of the United States.
• 2:57
Speaker 2: Every member of this body is here today because we
• 3:01
Speaker 2: were elected fairly and honestly and given a mandate by
• 3:05
Speaker 2: our constituents to serve them here in Washington and to
• 3:09
Speaker 2: protect the liberties and freedoms our founders fought to preserve.
• 3:15
Speaker 2: The power of the ballot box determines the course of
• 3:19
Speaker 2: our nation, the history we are writing, and the freedoms
• 3:23
Speaker 2: that we continue to defend. And while no single ballot
• 3:26
Speaker 2: in isolation may seem decisive, together the votes of the
• 3:31
Speaker 2: American people shape the course of our nation and the
• 3:35
Speaker 2: course of history. But it is worth remembering that our
• 3:39
Speaker 2: voting system did not begin as it exists today. When
• 3:44
Speaker 2: this nation was founded, the right to vote was limited,
• 3:48
Speaker 2: and over time, through debate, sacrifice, a bloody civil war,
• 3:53
Speaker 2: and constitutional amendment, the right to vote was quite properly expanded.
• 3:59
Speaker 2: Thefteenth Amendment prohibited denying the vote based on race, the
• 4:04
Speaker 2: nineteenth Amendment guaranteed women the right to vote, and the
• 4:09
Speaker 2: twenty sixth Amendment lowered the voting age to eighteen. At
• 4:14
Speaker 2: every stage of our constitutional amendment process, the goal was
• 4:18
Speaker 2: the same, to ensure that the right to vote belonged
• 4:23
Speaker 2: to American citizens and that it was exercised with integrity.
• 4:29
Speaker 2: And while our system has evolved, one principle has remained constant.
• 4:35
Speaker 2: Elections reflect the will of the American people for a
• 4:39
Speaker 2: right so sacred, for a privilege so hard fought.
• 4:45
Speaker 3: It is shocking, it is tragic.
• 4:49
Speaker 2: How neglected and vulnerable the protection of our elections has become.
• 4:55
Speaker 2: That is why I'm here today on this very floor,
• 4:58
Speaker 2: urging the members of this body to pass the Save
• 5:03
Speaker 2: America Act. It says that when you register to vote
• 5:08
Speaker 2: in a federal election, you must provide proof that you
• 5:12
Speaker 2: are a citizen of the United States, and you must provide.
• 5:16
Speaker 3: Photo ID to vote. In simple terms, that's it.
• 5:23
Speaker 2: This is not some radical, politicized or weaponized piece of
• 5:27
Speaker 2: legislation design to restrict Americans from voting. It is a
• 5:33
Speaker 2: common sense measure that protects the integrity of our elections
• 5:38
Speaker 2: by ensuring that American citizens, and only American citizens, are
• 5:44
Speaker 2: voting in them. Legitimacy in a democracy rests on two pillars. First,
• 5:51
Speaker 2: the mechanical integrity of the system to produce a valid result,
• 5:55
Speaker 2: and second, the public's confidence in that system. The one fails,
• 6:01
Speaker 2: the system falters. If both fail, the system collapses. A
• 6:08
Speaker 2: system that cannot be trusted is a system that cannot govern.
• 6:13
Speaker 2: If you look around the world, between two thirds and
• 6:17
Speaker 2: three quarters of countries require some form of identification to vote.
• 6:22
Speaker 2: Why because it safeguards the integrity of their elections and
• 6:26
Speaker 2: reinforces public trusts in their system.
• 6:31
Speaker 3: So it begs the question.
• 6:34
Speaker 2: Why hasn't the United States fully embraced this standard. Well,
• 6:41
Speaker 2: for the last several months, we have heard claim after
• 6:45
Speaker 2: claim about how this legislation would somehow inhibit people from voting,
• 6:49
Speaker 2: that requiring identification is discriminatory, that the American people do
• 6:53
Speaker 2: not support voter idem aster.
• 6:55
  Speaker 3: President.
• 6:56
Speaker 2: Our Democrat colleagues are fond of bellowing into the TV
• 7:00
Speaker 2: cameras that photo ID to vote is Jim Crow, they
• 7:08
Speaker 2: tell us with mock earnestness. Now I will admit our
• 7:14
Speaker 2: Democrat colleagues should be experts in Jim Crow, because it
• 7:19
Speaker 2: was Democrat politicians who passed the Jim Crow laws. It
• 7:24
Speaker 2: was Democrat politicians who founded the ku Klux Klan. It
• 7:28
Speaker 2: was Democrat politicians for decade after decade who enforced discrimination,
• 7:35
Speaker 2: separate but equal poll taxes, and a host of other
• 7:41
Speaker 2: laws designed to prevent African Americans from voting. But do
• 7:47
Speaker 2: you know who has rejected their disingenuous claim that photo
• 7:50
Speaker 2: ID to vote is Jim Crow. The Supreme Court of
• 7:55
Speaker 2: the United States. Supreme Court of the United States, the
• 7:58
Speaker 2: state of Indiana pasted photo ID law requiring that you
• 8:04
Speaker 2: show a photo ID to vote. A group of left
• 8:06
Speaker 2: wing plaintiffs filed litigation challenging that the case went all
• 8:12
Speaker 2: the way to the United States Supreme Court. At the time,
• 8:14
Speaker 2: I was the Solicitor General of the State of Texas.
• 8:16
Speaker 2: I led a coalition of states before the Supreme Court
• 8:19
Speaker 2: defending photo ID to vote, and the left wing plaintiffs
• 8:24
Speaker 2: made the same argument that our Democrat colleagues make today,
• 8:28
Speaker 2: that requiring photo ID to vote would somehow disenfranchise minorities.
• 8:32
Speaker 2: The Supreme Court, by a vote of six to three,
• 8:37
  Speaker 2: rejected their argument.
• 8:40
  Speaker 3: The author of.
• 8:40
Speaker 2: The majority opinion was John Paul Stevens. John Paul Stevens
• 8:43
Speaker 2: was one of the great liberals on the court. He
• 8:46
Speaker 2: was not a conservative, he was not on the right wing.
• 8:48
Speaker 2: He was the leading liberal for years on the U. S.
• 8:52
  Speaker 2: Supreme Court.
• 8:53
  Speaker 3: He rejected that.
• 8:53
Speaker 2: Claim, and he pointed out that when someone votes illegally
• 9:00
Speaker 2: stealing the votes of legal voters, they are stealing the
• 9:05
Speaker 2: votes of American citizens.
• 9:07
  Speaker 3: The Supreme Court.
• 9:07
Speaker 2: Explained that when photo ID laws have been implemented, minority
• 9:12
Speaker 2: participation in the election goes up, not down. And the
• 9:18
Speaker 2: Supreme Court explained that requiring photo ID enhances the integrity
• 9:22
Speaker 2: of an election and the integrity of democracy. Now, our
• 9:26
Speaker 2: Democrat colleagues don't want to acknowledge any.
• 9:28
  Speaker 3: Of those facts.
• 9:30
Speaker 2: And I guess it's understandable because the American people have
• 9:34
Speaker 2: heard their specious arguments and they have rejected them. As
• 9:40
Speaker 2: to President, eighty one percent of Americans support requiring photo
• 9:45
Speaker 2: ID to vote. But my Democrat colleagues might say, what
• 9:50
Speaker 2: about African Americans? Well, about three quarters of African Americans
• 9:54
Speaker 2: in the United States require support requiring photo ID to vote.
• 9:58
  Speaker 3: How about Hispanics?
• 10:00
Speaker 2: More than eighty percent of Hispanics in America support requiring
• 10:03
Speaker 2: photo ID to vote.
• 10:05
Speaker 3: How about Democrats? Here's an astonished statistic.
• 10:10
Speaker 2: If you get out of elected office, if you ask
• 10:13
Speaker 2: a Democrat on the street, seventy percent of Democrats in
• 10:16
Speaker 2: America support requiring photo ID to vote. The one group
• 10:21
Speaker 2: that doesn't are elected Democrats in the United States Senate,
• 10:26
Speaker 2: in the United States House. And by the way, the
• 10:33
Speaker 2: premise of their argument that minorities, if you require photo
• 10:36
Speaker 2: ID to vote, are not going to be able to vote,
• 10:38
Speaker 2: is frankly insulting. Mister President, I'm proud to be in
• 10:43
Speaker 2: Hispanic American. I've been in Hispanic all my life. You
• 10:45
Speaker 2: know what I've got in my wallet? I have a
• 10:49
Speaker 2: driver's license. I look at my colleagues across the way,
• 10:53
Speaker 2: I feel confident they have drivers' licenses in their wallets
• 10:56
Speaker 2: as Wells are not morons. African Americans are not morons.
• 11:05
Speaker 2: And when you claim minorities can't figure out how to
• 11:07
Speaker 2: get a driver's license, well, gosh, what do you need
• 11:11
Speaker 2: a photo ID to vote to do?
• 11:14
Speaker 3: Right now in America.
• 11:16
Speaker 2: You need a photo ID to purchase alcohol or to
• 11:20
Speaker 2: purchase tobacco. You need a photo ID to gamble or
• 11:24
Speaker 2: purchase lottery tickets. You need a photo ID to go
• 11:27
Speaker 2: into a bar. You need a photo ID to get
• 11:30
Speaker 2: on a plane. You need a photo ID to rent
• 11:33
Speaker 2: a car. You need a photo ID just to drive
• 11:36
Speaker 2: a car, not even to rent a car, drive a car.
• 11:40
Speaker 2: You need a photo ID to apply for government benefits.
• 11:44
Speaker 2: You need a photo ID to enroll in college. You
• 11:47
Speaker 2: need a photo ID to open a bank account. You
• 11:51
Speaker 2: need a photo ID to check into a hotel. And
• 11:55
Speaker 2: I gotta admit this is my personal favorite. You need
• 11:59
Speaker 2: a photo ID, actually two photo id's to shovel snow
• 12:04
Speaker 2: in New York City. These are routine, every day activities.
• 12:10
Speaker 2: The gallery is full. I feel confident everyone in the
• 12:12
Speaker 2: gallery who is not a child has a driver's license.
• 12:17
Speaker 2: And by the way, you wouldn't be admitted to the
• 12:19
Speaker 2: gallery if you didn't. And I feel confident every member
• 12:24
Speaker 2: of this chamber has done just about anything I listed, well,
• 12:28
Speaker 2: except shoveling snow. I'm not convinced many of my colleagues
• 12:31
Speaker 2: of Snubble show ah they do shovel other things. The
• 12:37
Speaker 2: question is not whether Americans are bright enough to obtain
• 12:42
  Speaker 2: photo ID.
• 12:44
Speaker 3: We know they can't and we know they do.
• 12:47
Speaker 2: The real question is why would we not require the
• 12:51
Speaker 2: same level of verification for something is consequential and.
• 12:56
  Speaker 3: Vital is voting.
• 13:00
Speaker 2: Are our Democrat colleagues saying voting doesn't matter or is
• 13:05
Speaker 2: it something else? Voting is not just another everyday activity.
• 13:09
Speaker 2: It rolls around every year a few years, and it
• 13:13
Speaker 2: is the vehicle that protects the principles of our republic
• 13:16
Speaker 2: and safeguarding what matters. This legislation is necessary because they're
• 13:22
Speaker 2: individuals and systems that can undermine confidence in our elections
• 13:26
Speaker 2: if proper safeguards are not in place. And one of
• 13:30
Speaker 2: the most apparent ways that we've seen is through the
• 13:34
Speaker 2: masses of illegal immigrants that our Democrat colleagues let in.
• 13:38
Speaker 3: Through open borders. Over four years.
• 13:40
Speaker 2: During the Biden administration, more than twelve million illegal immigrants
• 13:44
Speaker 2: flooded into this country, the vast majority through my home
• 13:48
Speaker 2: state of Texas. Now, mister President, understand that was not
• 13:52
Speaker 2: an accident, That was not something that Democrats could not stop.
• 13:57
Speaker 2: That was their desired outcome.
• 14:00
Speaker 3: How do we know that.
• 14:02
Speaker 2: Because the instant President Trump was sworn into office for
• 14:07
Speaker 2: his second term, illegal border crossings plummeted ninety nine percent overnight.
• 14:21
Speaker 2: The Democrats said, no, Joe Biden can't secure the border.
• 14:25
Speaker 3: He needs new legislation. We now know.
• 14:29
Speaker 2: That was a lie. It was objectively false, and they
• 14:34
Speaker 2: knew it was false. Well, if they could have secured
• 14:39
Speaker 2: the border for four years and they chose not to,
• 14:42
Speaker 2: they chose to let murderers into this country. They chose
• 14:45
Speaker 2: to let rapists into this country. They chose to let
• 14:47
Speaker 2: child molesters into this country. They chose to let gang
• 14:50
Speaker 2: bangers into this country. They chose to let terrorists into
• 14:54
Speaker 2: this country. We've had four radical Islamic terror attacks in
• 14:59
Speaker 2: the l two weeks. Why, mister President, would the Democrats
• 15:07
Speaker 2: choose to allow more than twelve million illegal aliens to
• 15:10
Speaker 2: invade this country? And I'm going to suggest the obvious reason,
• 15:17
Speaker 2: because the Democrats look at those illegal aliens and they
• 15:19
Speaker 2: want them to cast vote for Democrats in federal elections.
• 15:24
Speaker 2: Why are the Democrats lined up and say no, no, no,
• 15:28
Speaker 2: under no circumstances should we test to see if you're
• 15:32
Speaker 2: an American citizen? Under no circumstances should we require photo IDs.
• 15:39
Speaker 2: You know, there was one activist a few years ago
• 15:41
Speaker 2: who filmed himself going into a DC polling place. DC
• 15:46
Speaker 2: polling place said sir, what's your name? And he said,
• 15:50
Speaker 2: my name is Eric Holder. Now, this activist was not
• 15:54
Speaker 2: the Attorney General of the United States at the time,
• 15:57
Speaker 2: but yet DC handed him a ballot and said, mister Hoole,
• 16:01
Speaker 2: please cast your vote.
• 16:05
Speaker 3: The Democrats are lined up in this chamber.
• 16:10
Speaker 2: Because they want our elections to be insecure.
• 16:15
Speaker 3: They want voter fraud to be rampant and to be easy.
• 16:22
Speaker 2: Ask yourself, do the American people have a difficult time
• 16:26
Speaker 2: buying a beer? Do they have a difficult time getting
• 16:29
Speaker 2: into an R rated movie? Do they have a difficult
• 16:31
Speaker 2: time getting on airplane? Well? Yes, because the Democrats have
• 16:35
Speaker 2: refuses to fund the TSA and so they're long lines
• 16:37
Speaker 2: right now. But the lack of a photo ID is
• 16:41
Speaker 2: not an impediment that stops people from flying. This debate
• 16:48
Speaker 2: is about something very simple. Do our elections matter? Does
• 16:51
Speaker 2: our democracy matter? And boy, mister President, I gotta say
• 16:55
Speaker 2: that is a phrase the Democrats love.
• 16:59
Speaker 3: They are defending democracy.
• 17:03
Speaker 2: It's interesting their voice usually drops an octave when they
• 17:06
  Speaker 2: say that.
• 17:08
Speaker 3: They clutch their pearls. And that's just the men.
• 17:14
Speaker 2: Defending democracy, is what they say. Ask yourself, why are
• 17:22
Speaker 2: they not concerned at all about twelve million illegals who
• 17:27
Speaker 2: they let into this country voting illegally.
• 17:31
  Speaker 3: I'll submit.
• 17:33
Speaker 2: Ockham's raisor provides. The simplest solution is usually the right one.
• 17:37
Speaker 2: The simplest solution is very clear. The Democrats in this
• 17:40
Speaker 2: body want illegals to vote for them. They want power
• 17:45
Speaker 2: enough that they are more than happy to undermine democracy.
• 17:50
Speaker 3: To try to seize power.
• 17:54
Speaker 2: I get that from their personal self interest, but it
• 17:57
Speaker 2: is not in the interest of the men and women
• 17:59
Speaker 2: they represent. It is not one of the interest of
• 18:02
Speaker 2: the people of America. This bill is rightly called the
• 18:06
Speaker 2: Same America Act. And mister President, if we were voting
• 18:12
Speaker 2: on the merits of what was good for America, what
• 18:15
Speaker 2: was good for democracy, what was good for American citizens.
• 18:21
Speaker 3: The vote would be a hundred to nothing.
• 18:24
Speaker 2: Although I would note on the other side of this building,
• 18:26
Speaker 2: at the State of the Union address that you were
• 18:27
Speaker 2: at that I was at, we saw why our Democrat
• 18:32
Speaker 2: colleagues are so adamantly opposed to this bill. President Trump
• 18:36
Speaker 2: turned to the Democrats on the right side of the
• 18:40
Speaker 2: floor of the House, and it gave him an opportunity
• 18:42
Speaker 2: to demonstrate with absolute clarity.
• 18:45
Speaker 3: He said, if you agree our first.
• 18:48
Speaker 2: Priority should be to fight for American citizens and not
• 18:52
Speaker 2: for illegal aliens, please stand, and every single Democrat in
• 19:01
  Speaker 2: Congress remain seated.
• 19:03
Speaker 3: Not a one of them.
• 19:06
Speaker 2: I would note, as we're on the floor today, of
• 19:08
Speaker 2: the forty seven Democrats in this body, only one is
• 19:11
Speaker 2: here on the floor, but a whole lot more we're
• 19:14
Speaker 2: on the floor during the State of the Union. Every
• 19:16
Speaker 2: one of them chose to remain seated because they could
• 19:19
Speaker 2: not support the statement that we need to support American
• 19:22
Speaker 2: citizens and not illegal aliens.
• 19:25
Speaker 3: That's why they oppose the.
• 19:27
Speaker 2: Save America Act, because they want to be handed power
• 19:31
Speaker 2: over this country by the illegal aliens they led into
• 19:34
Speaker 2: this country. That's why we need to save America, and
• 19:41
Speaker 2: it's why I urge every member of this body to
• 19:43
Speaker 2: pass the Save America Act.
• 19:47
Speaker 1: Now, if you want to hear the rest of this conversation,
• 19:49
Speaker 1: you can go back and listen to the full podcast
• 19:52
Speaker 1: from earlier this week. Now onto story number two, So Center,
• 19:57
Speaker 1: there is something very interesting that keeps brewing, and it's
• 20:00
Speaker 1: theme in Texas that theme now is Democrats keep trying
• 20:05
Speaker 1: to find radical liberals that they masquerade into some sort
• 20:09
Speaker 1: of like moderate to then run for the Senate. But
• 20:12
Speaker 1: if you just go back and look at their own words,
• 20:15
  Speaker 1: they're moonbats.
• 20:17
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 20:18
Speaker 2: Look, so the Democrats in Texas have nominated for the
• 20:21
Speaker 2: US Senate this guy named James Tallerico, who was a
• 20:26
Speaker 2: state representative. He'd only been in the legislature a couple
• 20:29
Speaker 2: of years, he had not achieved much of anything. And
• 20:32
Speaker 2: why did they pick some like some young state rep
• 20:35
Speaker 2: to be their Senate nominee. Well, turned out the guy
• 20:38
Speaker 2: went to seminary, and they're like, oh, look this is great. Now.
• 20:41
Speaker 2: Look today's modern Democrat party. They hate people of faith
• 20:44
Speaker 2: unless you happen to be an Islamist and you're trying
• 20:46
Speaker 2: to kill people, they like them. But other than Islamists
• 20:49
Speaker 2: that are trying to murder people, anyone of faith they
• 20:52
Speaker 2: can't stand, and they especially can't stand Christians. But I
• 20:56
Speaker 2: think the Democrats are frustrated that they keep losing in Texas,
• 20:59
Speaker 2: they keep getting their buds kicked, and so they're like,
• 21:00
Speaker 2: all right, we need to find someone that They're like, oh,
• 21:02
Speaker 2: this guy went to seminary. He speaks, he speaks Christian.
• 21:07
Speaker 2: This is their theory of the case, Like he can
• 21:09
Speaker 2: talk to those strange people who believe in that Jesus guy.
• 21:12
Speaker 2: That that that's how democrats strategist or our thinking. And
• 21:18
Speaker 2: the only problem is like this guy is weird. And again,
• 21:24
Speaker 2: don't take my word for it. I'm just going to
• 21:26
Speaker 2: introduce you to James Tallerica. First of all, right, let's
• 21:29
Speaker 2: listen to this preacher talk about God. What does he
• 21:32
Speaker 2: have to say about God? Well, give a listen.
• 21:33
Speaker 4: The first two lines of the Bible. The first two
• 21:38
Speaker 4: lines in Genesis used two different Hebrew words to describe God.
• 21:45
Speaker 4: One is the masculine Hebrew noun for divinity. The second
• 21:51
Speaker 4: is the feminine Hebrew noun for spirit. God is both
• 21:57
Speaker 4: masculine and feminine, and everything in between. God is non binary.
• 22:05
Speaker 4: In Genesis one twenty six, God speaks of God's self
• 22:09
Speaker 4: in the plural, saying, let us make human beings in
• 22:15
Speaker 4: our image to be like us. That's the infinite multitude
• 22:21
Speaker 4: of God, the masculine, the feminine, and everything in between.
• 22:28
Speaker 4: Trans children are God's children made in God's own image.
• 22:35
Speaker 1: Now, center, I've heard of stretches before using the Bible
• 22:39
Speaker 1: but when you're like, let me just take you the
• 22:41
Speaker 1: very beginning and here's how I'm going to morph that
• 22:43
Speaker 1: into like this, Like that's a whole new level. And
• 22:46
Speaker 1: even the room the people around him are kind of
• 22:48
Speaker 1: like looking like is he really doing this? It's a
• 22:51
  Speaker 1: great video.
• 22:52
Speaker 2: Look, God ain't nine non binary. And and yes God
• 22:55
Speaker 2: is plural because you've got the trinity of God, the Father, God,
• 23:01
Speaker 2: the Son, God, the Holy Spirit three in one. But
• 23:05
Speaker 2: but but that does not mean that, you know, he says, well,
• 23:10
Speaker 2: God created male, female and everything in between. No, No,
• 23:14
Speaker 2: he created Adam, he created Eve, and he stopped. Yeah,
• 23:18
Speaker 2: he didn't create a third creature that was neither male
• 23:21
  Speaker 2: nor female.
• 23:22
Speaker 3: He he he created both.
• 23:24
Speaker 2: Okay, so you might say, all right, that's that's fine,
• 23:28
Speaker 2: But maybe that's just sort of a curious theological quirk.
• 23:33
Speaker 2: What he had more to say about people who are
• 23:36
Speaker 2: transgender and and it and it might kind of surprise you.
• 23:38
  Speaker 3: Listen.
• 23:39
Speaker 2: Listen to what he had to say about about the
• 23:42
  Speaker 2: trans community.
• 23:43
Speaker 4: Before we go further, I want to acknowledge that our
• 23:46
Speaker 4: trans community needs abortion care. Two, Defending trans texts is
• 23:50
Speaker 4: something we have to do every day now.
• 23:52
Speaker 1: Now that one, if you're not watching this on YouTube.
• 23:55
Speaker 1: I just want to set the stage center. There is
• 23:59
Speaker 1: literally communion table behind him. Yeah, two candles that are lit.
• 24:04
Speaker 1: And he's like, now, let me just tell you the
• 24:05
Speaker 1: trans community they need abortion here too. Like I'm just curious,
• 24:08
Speaker 1: like where in the scripture is that? Is that in there?
• 24:11
Speaker 1: Like I'm waiting. You know this guy that went to ministry,
• 24:14
Speaker 1: like like, I just want to know where he found that.
• 24:17
Speaker 2: The guy says that in a church, and I guess
• 24:20
Speaker 2: it's pretending to be a preacher, but you understand this
• 24:22
Speaker 2: is his priority, abortions for people who are transgender.
• 24:26
  Speaker 3: Look like that.
• 24:27
Speaker 2: I'm sorry, that is just out there and and this
• 24:31
Speaker 2: is the pressing priority. But look, I got to admit
• 24:36
Speaker 2: the reason he's saying all of this is that he's
• 24:40
Speaker 2: got to apologize for his own overwhelming masculinity. And again,
• 24:47
Speaker 2: don't take my word for it. Give a listen to
• 24:49
  Speaker 2: him explaining.
• 24:50
Speaker 4: No need to sit and cry over you know, your
• 24:54
Speaker 4: whiteness or your masculinity, right, use it, use it to
• 24:57
Speaker 4: do something. Yeah, let's be productive.
• 25:00
Speaker 1: I mean aiman pastor on that one, right, Like that
• 25:02
Speaker 1: is just pre Sign me up. Where can I go
• 25:05
Speaker 1: to get more of that?
• 25:07
  Speaker 3: Okay?
• 25:07
Speaker 2: Look, I got to say, for those of y'all who
• 25:09
Speaker 2: are not watching on YouTube, you really should watch on YouTube,
• 25:13
Speaker 2: because no need to cry over your masculinity, said no
• 25:18
Speaker 2: person who had even a shred of masculinity. This is
• 25:22
Speaker 2: a guy who makes Pete bodhajeedge look manly.
• 25:26
  Speaker 3: You're not lying.
• 25:27
Speaker 2: This is a guy if like a soy Latte could speak,
• 25:32
Speaker 2: that would be Democrat James Tallerico.
• 25:34
Speaker 1: That is my new official analogy that you've ever said
• 25:37
Speaker 1: on this show. That is number one now.
• 25:40
Speaker 2: And by the way, okay, so so he's not very masculine.
• 25:45
Speaker 2: He's crying about his masculinity, what little little of it
• 25:48
Speaker 2: he has. But at least he's an American, right, I
• 25:50
Speaker 2: mean he's at least proud of America.
• 25:54
Speaker 3: Well, not so much. Give a listen to what he
• 25:56
Speaker 3: has to say about that.
• 25:58
Speaker 4: I often think when reclaiming symbols, I think about the
• 26:00
Speaker 4: American flag. I think the Confederate flag is a symbol
• 26:03
Speaker 4: of treason and terrorism. But the American flag is such
• 26:06
Speaker 4: a complicated symbol for most of us in many ways,
• 26:09
Speaker 4: like Jesus, like the cross, it's been co opted.
• 26:12
  Speaker 3: And and.
• 26:14
Speaker 4: And in some ways that's true. Meeting has been betrayed.
• 26:18
  Speaker 3: By the way.
• 26:18
Speaker 1: I didn't know that we had co opted Jesus so
• 26:21
Speaker 1: much like that's breaking news there, Senator.
• 26:24
Speaker 2: So look, this is a supposed pastor who is embarrassed
• 26:28
Speaker 2: about Jesus, embarrassed about the cross, and now embarrassed about
• 26:32
Speaker 2: the American flag. But okay, look, look you said everything
• 26:35
Speaker 2: else aside, it's Texas. At least he stands with barbecue, right.
• 26:40
  Speaker 1: Yes, that's true.
• 26:42
Speaker 3: No, no, it's not. Give a listen to what he
• 26:44
Speaker 3: has to say on meat.
• 26:46
Speaker 4: We have, I think, heard more and more issues of
• 26:49
Speaker 4: animal welfare. I think not just because it's the right
• 26:52
Speaker 4: thing to do and the moral thing to do, but
• 26:54
Speaker 4: also it's, as all of you know, necessary to fight
• 26:57
Speaker 4: climate change. It is now existential that we try to
• 27:00
Speaker 4: reduce our meat consumption and that we try to respect
• 27:04
Speaker 4: animals in all aspects of society. And so I am
• 27:07
Speaker 4: proud to say that our campaign has officially become a
• 27:11
Speaker 4: non meat campaign. So we we are only buying vegan
• 27:18
Speaker 4: products from from our local vegan businesses.
• 27:23
Speaker 2: The guy hates barbecue. Perfect for Texas. They found their candidate.
• 27:29
Speaker 2: The Democrats understand Texans as before. If you want to
• 27:33
Speaker 2: hear the rest of this conversation on this topic. You
• 27:35
Speaker 2: can go back and down the podcasts from earlier this
• 27:38
Speaker 2: week to hear the entire thing. I want to get
• 27:41
Speaker 2: back to the big story number three of the week
• 27:44
Speaker 2: you may have missed. All Right, Finally, Senator, let's wrap
• 27:47
Speaker 2: with a story that another hero of the left. Yeah,
• 27:52
Speaker 2: looks like it was a crazy person that is now
• 27:54
Speaker 2: going to go down history and disgrace. This time it's
• 27:58
Speaker 2: a guy by the last name of Chavez. So this, this,
• 28:02
Speaker 2: this is our hypocrisy, not just trifecta, but four of
• 28:05
Speaker 2: a kind. So we started with Kathy Hocheld, the hypocritical
• 28:10
Speaker 2: Democrat governor of New York. We then went to James Tallerico,
• 28:13
Speaker 2: the very very strange Democrat nominee for the Senate. We
• 28:16
Speaker 2: then went to Joe Kent, the previous Trump supporter who
• 28:20
Speaker 2: has decided now that that that Trump is is under
• 28:23
Speaker 2: an assassination threat from Israel. And finally Caesar Shaves who
• 28:27
Speaker 2: is Caesar Shavz. He is a hero to the Democrats,
• 28:30
Speaker 2: a hero to the left and icon uh. He was
• 28:33
Speaker 2: a union organizer for the United farm Workers and he
• 28:36
Speaker 2: is revered except for the fact that that famed right
• 28:41
Speaker 2: wing publication, The New York Times just published an expose
• 28:46
Speaker 2: that for years he was raping little girls, and and
• 28:50
Speaker 2: they come with the receipts that that that he had
• 28:53
Speaker 2: raped little girls year after year after year, and the
• 28:57
Speaker 2: Left had covered it up. They'd covered it up because
• 28:59
Speaker 2: they agreed with his politics. And I got to say
• 29:02
Speaker 2: that there's a really good opinion piece that the Daily
• 29:04
Speaker 2: Wire ran by a woman named Ariana Guaharda, who's a
• 29:09
Speaker 2: Texan and a Latina. And here's what she wrote. I
• 29:13
Speaker 2: want to read a good chunk of it because it
• 29:14
Speaker 2: actually is a good insight. It's entitled the Left hid
• 29:18
Speaker 2: Caesar Chavez is rapes and turned him into a saint.
• 29:23
Speaker 2: She begins when I was in college, I passed the
• 29:26
Speaker 2: Caesar Chavez statue every day on my walk to class
• 29:30
Speaker 2: at the University of Texas. Now, Caesar Chavez is the
• 29:34
Speaker 2: name of the road I take to work, and it's
• 29:36
Speaker 2: a big road right in downtown Austin. For years, Chavez
• 29:41
Speaker 2: was presented as the figurehead for Mexican Americans, a symbol
• 29:45
Speaker 2: we were expected to revere, but he represented a collectivist
• 29:49
Speaker 2: ideology that perpetuated ethnic tribalism. After the New York Times
• 29:55
Speaker 2: broke the story of his sexual abuse of young girls.
• 29:58
Speaker 2: This false idol is finally toppling. My only hope is
• 30:02
Speaker 2: that he is not replaced by another. Chavez has long
• 30:06
Speaker 2: been celebrated as a symbol of the Civil rights era
• 30:09
Speaker 2: and as a champion of labor unions in America. He
• 30:12
Speaker 2: co founded the United farm Workers' Union to fight for
• 30:15
Speaker 2: better condition for migrant laborers, But in truth, he exploited
• 30:19
Speaker 2: the very people he claimed to protect while tying Mexican
• 30:23
Speaker 2: Americans to socialist ideology, which is of course what the
• 30:26
Speaker 2: democrats want. He carefully crafted a public image as a
• 30:30
Speaker 2: family man devoted to Catholic social teaching, but the reality
• 30:35
Speaker 2: was much darker. Chava's philosophy echoes Marxist rhetoric about the
• 30:40
Speaker 2: proletariat and the bourgeoisie. At a UfW convention in nineteen
• 30:46
Speaker 2: eighty one, Chavez proclaimed, I would not take one cup
• 30:50
Speaker 2: of coffee from a grower. Any means a farmer. There's
• 30:54
Speaker 2: not a good one. I hate them. A few presents
• 30:57
Speaker 2: a little talk than the new use. That's how capitalism works.
• 31:03
Speaker 2: This is the hero of the left. It isn't just
• 31:07
Speaker 2: his rhetoric that sounds alarm bells. Early in his career,
• 31:10
Speaker 2: he worked with Saul Alynsky, the community organizer who defined
• 31:14
Speaker 2: the modern leftist playbook in Rules for Radicals. Chavez and
• 31:19
Speaker 2: the UfW later implemented Alinsky's tactics fostering confrontational, divisive organizing.
• 31:26
Speaker 2: Then there is the recent revelation of his extensive sexual
• 31:30
Speaker 2: abuse of minors. The behavior is not distinct from other
• 31:34
Speaker 2: far left figures, such as Joseph Stalin to Mao to
• 31:38
Speaker 2: Kim Jong Il. Communist and socialist leaders often share a
• 31:42
Speaker 2: troubling connection to sexual predation. We should not be surprised
• 31:49
Speaker 2: that evil ideology attracts evil people. By the way, that's
• 31:53
Speaker 2: a sentence worth remembering. We should not be surprised that
• 31:58
Speaker 2: evil ideologyogy attracts evil people. If the warning signs around
• 32:04
Speaker 2: Chavez have existed for decades, why did he become the
• 32:08
Speaker 2: face of an entire ethnicity in America? Partly because he
• 32:12
Speaker 2: was effective at mobilizing Mexican Americans in California using a
• 32:16
Speaker 2: rhetoric that created a lasting US versus them mentality, But
• 32:22
Speaker 2: how did that ideology extend to Texas? Chavez never belong
• 32:27
Speaker 2: to the Tehano heritage. The same way he does in
• 32:30
Speaker 2: Chicano culture. The Chicano culture and movement are a direct
• 32:34
Speaker 2: outgrowth of the California Hispanic labor movement in the sixties
• 32:38
Speaker 2: and seventies. On the other hand, the Tehano culture traces
• 32:42
Speaker 2: back to the Mexican settlers of Texas prior to Texas
• 32:46
Speaker 2: independence and is a component of what created the Texas identity.
• 32:51
Speaker 2: That history is also tied to farming and a cowboy
• 32:54
Speaker 2: ethos that is incompatible with Chavez's ideology. Texas agriculture thrived
• 33:02
Speaker 2: because of ranchers like my ancestors, who embraced a free
• 33:06
Speaker 2: market approach, not because of unions or collectivist movements. Before
• 33:12
Speaker 2: the New York Times expose, one could argue that Chavez
• 33:16
Speaker 2: fought for Mexican Americans and deserved gratitude, Yet his legacy
• 33:20
Speaker 2: has encouraged a troubling mindset. To be loyal to one's
• 33:24
Speaker 2: Hispanic heritage, one must embrace left wing ideology. On campus,
• 33:29
Speaker 2: I was often labeled a quote race trader at conservative events,
• 33:33
Speaker 2: accused of quote wanting white approval, or dismissed as quote
• 33:37
Speaker 2: two white passing to comment on border and immigration issues.
• 33:41
Speaker 2: By the way, Horreramos on Spanish television accused me of
• 33:48
Speaker 2: being a trader to my race, so I'm quite familiar
• 33:50
Speaker 2: with that. The type of tribalism promoted by Chavez is
• 33:55
Speaker 2: just like any other kind of identity politics, limiting and
• 33:59
Speaker 2: stereotyping the people. It is intended to empower. In the
• 34:03
Speaker 2: political climate in which Texas Hispanics are considering Republicans in
• 34:07
Speaker 2: the ballot, it is clear why the left is feeling threatened.
• 34:11
Speaker 2: So why is the street in Austin named after Caesar Chaves?
• 34:15
Speaker 2: Why did his statue watch me as I walked to class?
• 34:18
Speaker 2: The answer is clear ethnic tokenism. It was fitting for
• 34:23
Speaker 2: Bill Clinton to award him a Presidential Medal of Freedom.
• 34:27
Speaker 2: By the way, Bill Clinton, speaking of sexual predators, there
• 34:29
Speaker 2: may have been a reason there and for Joe Biden
• 34:33
Speaker 2: to display his bust in the Oval Office. Joe Biden
• 34:36
Speaker 2: literally put up a bust of Caesar Chaves, who was
• 34:39
Speaker 2: a child rapist in the Oval Office. Chavez represents the
• 34:43
Speaker 2: Hispanic worker the political left wishes we all were obedient
• 34:50
Speaker 2: to a union boss and beholden to collectivist ideology. The
• 34:55
Speaker 2: UfW announced it will not be celebrating Caesar Chave's Day
• 34:58
Speaker 2: this year. Amid the allegi as the idol all Hispanics
• 35:02
Speaker 2: were once expected to adore is finally falling from his pedestal.
• 35:07
Speaker 2: My hope is that we do not replace him with another.
• 35:11
Speaker 3: Look. I think that is exceptionally well written.
• 35:14
Speaker 1: Well done, and I have to give a little credit
• 35:16
Speaker 1: to New York Times for actually publishing it.
• 35:18
Speaker 3: Yes to agreed, like I'm shocked, I really am. Now.
• 35:23
Speaker 2: To be clear, Chavez is not a current leftist leader.
• 35:26
Speaker 2: If he was a current leader of the Democrat Party
• 35:29
Speaker 2: that I don't think they would have published it. But
• 35:31
Speaker 2: given that he's dead and buried, I think fact it
• 35:36
Speaker 2: was after the fact. And look, what is sad is
• 35:40
Speaker 2: that so many Democrats, so many leftists, knew that he
• 35:43
Speaker 2: was a child rapist, and they kept their mouths shut
• 35:45
Speaker 2: because ideology mattered more than truth or protecting kids.
• 35:51
