- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, everybody, Zach and Donald here. I had a technical
- 0:03Speaker 1: glitch while recording this episode, and my fancy digital recorder
- 0:08Speaker 1: didn't work. And so Donald sounds perfect and you'll hear
- 0:12Speaker 1: his beautiful dulcet voice, but I sound like I'm just
- 0:16Speaker 1: on a cell phone. I'm actually just recorded over the
- 0:18Speaker 1: Zoom app. So we did the best to make it
- 0:20Speaker 1: sound good, but I screwed up.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Sorry, Sorry, one job. You had one job, and you
- 0:26Speaker 2: screwed it up. You talked all of that shit about
- 0:28Speaker 2: Sarah Chalk and how she messed up, and then you
- 0:31Speaker 2: turned right around into the exact send.
- 0:33Speaker 1: I deserve your admonishment and I'm sorry to everyone listening.
- 0:37Speaker 1: It will never happen again, but on this one episode alone,
- 0:40Speaker 1: I am not recorded. Well, it's my fault. We love
- 0:43Speaker 1: you all. Thanks for listening.

- 2:18Speaker 1: walk around the block.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, we take like we do it like a
- 2:21Speaker 2: little neighborhood walk. We have our masks, we have our gloves,
- 2:24Speaker 2: we take our dog with it.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Can you tell me was it was it? What's Cardi b?
- 2:28Speaker 1: Did you see the thing?
- 2:29Speaker 2: She's like corona coronavirus shit is real. Ship is real.
- 2:34Speaker 2: When they turned it into the song.
- 2:36Speaker 1: I can't get I heard the song yet, but I
- 2:38Speaker 1: don't know about Cardi b at all, but I that
- 2:41Speaker 1: coronavirus thing made crack up.
- 2:43Speaker 2: And when you get the chance, look up the song.
- 2:45Speaker 2: The ship is real. Oh my god, same way they
- 2:48Speaker 2: did like uh double Rainbow and ain't nobody got time
- 2:51Speaker 2: for that? And yeah, and uh, He's hiding in your
- 2:54Speaker 2: windows snatching your people love.
- 2:57Speaker 1: That was the first one. And that was the best one.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Kids watch and how to husbands because they raping everybody
- 3:05Speaker 2: up out this bitch.

- 3:23Speaker 2: I remember that was a song. That was a great one.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Oh man, you just reminded me that at my workout mix.
- 3:30Speaker 1: That was a fucking jam.
- 3:32Speaker 2: That was a gem. It was a you know what
- 3:34Speaker 2: else was the jem It's fucking distracting?
- 3:37Speaker 1: Who? Yeah, what's that one?
- 3:40Speaker 2: The freaking Batman one? No Christian Bale one.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Oh that was good. And then they spoofed that with
- 3:46Speaker 1: the Kenney Schmidt theme song, which was which was really
- 3:50Speaker 1: good too. Do you ever watch Timmy Schmidt?
- 3:52Speaker 2: I have never watched com.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Oh it's really good. You like it. If you're listening
- 3:55Speaker 1: to this podcast and you haven't watched Schmidt, I'll bet
- 3:57Speaker 1: you like it. It's got a lot of it's sillier
- 3:59Speaker 1: than screw, believe it or not, but it's got some
- 4:03Speaker 1: very funny, silly stuff. It should we talk about the
- 4:05Speaker 1: show Donald's.
- 4:06Speaker 2: We should totally talk about the show. This was a
- 4:08Speaker 2: good one. I have no recollection of this show whatsoever.
- 4:13Speaker 2: I didn't remember this show until that. We sang Missus Jones.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Yeah, Now, did you know Missus Jones the song? Or
- 4:19Speaker 1: did you?
- 4:19Speaker 2: Absolutely?
- 4:20Speaker 1: I didn't really, but you sang it beautifully.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Thank you. We got a thing going on. That's a
- 4:31Speaker 2: it's a real good song. I wonder if luth I
- 4:34Speaker 2: think Lutha might have even covered it.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Sometimes when you sing, I just involuntarily.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Either Luther or Freddie Jackson, one of them covered that thing.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Who's the most famous Joelle's version of of.
- 4:46Speaker 2: I think the original Missus Jones?
- 4:48Speaker 1: Who's the original? I'm sorry, I don't know.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Research is Billy Paul. That does me and missus Jones,
- 4:56Speaker 2: I think, so yeah, Billy Paul looks like the original.
- 5:01Speaker 2: And then I feel like Luther did do a cover
- 5:04Speaker 2: of this.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Let's see we got a thing.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Freddy Jackson did.
- 5:11Speaker 1: Do the cover.
- 5:12Speaker 2: Freddy Jackson, I knew it was one of them.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Well you sanging beautifully, Donald, Thank.
- 5:17Speaker 2: You very much. I remember being so excited that I
- 5:19Speaker 2: was going to have the opportunity to sing on the show.
- 5:22Speaker 2: I sang a lot as a kid, like in the
- 5:24Speaker 2: high school choir and the junior high school choir.
- 5:26Speaker 1: I wish you would sing more because you have such
- 5:29Speaker 1: a beautiful voice.
- 5:30Speaker 2: I would love to sing more. I don't think I
- 5:32Speaker 2: have the voice that is the type of voice that
- 5:34Speaker 2: people want to hear like all the time.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Would you ever do a Broadway musical?
- 5:38Speaker 2: Of course I would do a Broadway musical. We all
- 5:40Speaker 2: have dreams of winning an egot one day, of getting
- 5:43Speaker 2: the egot right.
- 5:44Speaker 1: So absolutely, for egot reasons, I'm saying, would you think
- 5:47Speaker 1: that would bring you joy to do a Broadway musical?
- 5:50Speaker 1: Bill and I got approached to do a version of
- 5:52Speaker 1: Fletch after Scrubs.
- 5:54Speaker 2: That's so scary, dude, I know, And.
- 5:56Speaker 1: The idea of doing it with Bill, who's like the
- 5:58Speaker 1: biggest Fletch fan in the world, was interesting. But then
- 6:01Speaker 1: you know, I mean, that's that's impossible.
- 6:04Speaker 2: You can't feel Chevy Chase. You can't do it.
- 6:07Speaker 1: I'm just saying, okay, So back to the musical. I
- 6:09Speaker 1: think that it would be great. I would just love
- 6:11Speaker 1: to see you. You have such a good voice. And
- 6:13Speaker 1: I did a musical on Broadway and I had so
- 6:15Speaker 1: much fun doing it. Granted, I was happy when it
- 6:18Speaker 1: was over, because when you go see a play, particularly
- 6:22Speaker 1: in this case just a my musicals, you always have
- 6:25Speaker 1: to come out and go I cannot believe these people
- 6:26Speaker 1: are doing this eight times a week. And I was
- 6:30Speaker 1: just so exhausted. It was the most tired I've ever
- 6:34Speaker 1: been in my life. And no matter what happens, you're
- 6:36Speaker 1: going on that day, Like, you know, it's one thing
- 6:38Speaker 1: you will play for three months, four months, but.
- 6:40Speaker 2: And wow, that's a really that's a half a year,
- 6:43Speaker 2: Dude's you were supposed.
- 6:44Speaker 1: To do it longer.
- 6:45Speaker 2: But wow, I don't know. I go back and forth
- 6:48Speaker 2: with the whole you know, musical theater, musical genre. When
- 6:53Speaker 2: it's done right, it's really good. But when it's done.
- 6:55Speaker 2: When it's done wrong, that's one of those things where
- 6:57Speaker 2: it's like, dude, and it was a musical, you know
- 6:59Speaker 2: what I mean.
- 7:00Speaker 1: I know, but when it works, it's so good. When
- 7:03Speaker 1: it works, we love it.
- 7:04Speaker 2: Oh, when it works, it's the best thing in the world. Yeah.
- 7:07Speaker 1: But when you're in a bad one, you're like, oh, God,
- 7:09Speaker 1: make it stop.
- 7:10Speaker 2: Right, you know what I mean? How do we get
- 7:12Speaker 2: out of this?
- 7:13Speaker 1: So this My Bad was written by Gabby Allen Wow
- 7:18Speaker 1: and directed by Mark Buckland, who directed the One of Four.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Very talented guy. There's a lot of cool shots in
- 7:26Speaker 1: this episode. I can always tell, even if I don't
- 7:29Speaker 1: look at the who the director is by the cinematography.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Who was adding a little lext or something something. And
- 7:36Speaker 1: Mark Bucklan was always one of those guys, right.
- 7:38Speaker 2: I just remember playing ping pong with Mark Bucklan and
- 7:40Speaker 2: how good of a ping pong player he is?
- 7:42Speaker 1: Yes, did you win? Because you're pretty good?
- 7:45Speaker 2: No, I did not win. I got waxed. And he
- 7:47Speaker 2: started off making it look like it was going to
- 7:49Speaker 2: be the easiest game in the world, and I'd have
- 7:52Speaker 2: a shot and all I'd have to do is just
- 7:53Speaker 2: keep the ball on the table. But then after I
- 7:56Speaker 2: remember him looking at me and saying to me, Okay,
- 7:59Speaker 2: so I'm gonna turned it up a little bit now,
- 8:01Speaker 2: and then all of a sudden he became like freaking
- 8:03Speaker 2: Federer or freaking uh Nadal or something like that, but
- 8:06Speaker 2: on a ping pong table, Djokovic, Right, all of a sudden,
- 8:09Speaker 2: out of nowhere, this dude, there's there's there's there's a
- 8:13Speaker 2: there's top spin. He's slice nedd spin.
- 8:16Speaker 1: I remember you very into trick spin because I played
- 8:18Speaker 1: with you a couple of times and I just couldn't
- 8:19Speaker 1: even hit the ball back because you put so much
- 8:21Speaker 1: spin on it. No matter what I did, it was
- 8:22Speaker 1: just going everywhere.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Right, This dude had the type of ping pong game
- 8:27Speaker 2: where you put the spin on it, and he knew
- 8:29Speaker 2: the counter spin. It was the worst. You gotta the
- 8:32Speaker 2: counter you gotta know the counterspin.
- 8:34Speaker 1: You gotta know the counter spin. I remember playing Bill
- 8:38Speaker 1: in ping pong and I'm just like, you know, this
- 8:40Speaker 1: is new in the relationship, and I'm like, just you
- 8:43Speaker 1: played a little pong with my boss, like just a
- 8:45Speaker 1: little bonding. And then he stopped pointing. He goes, would
- 8:48Speaker 1: you mind if I played you left handed? Because it
- 8:50Speaker 1: wasn't any fun for me. It was so horrible.
- 8:56Speaker 2: I was Did they ever play each other? Did you
- 8:57Speaker 2: ever witness Buckling and Bill?
- 8:59Speaker 1: Right? No? I don't know. I don't know, but I mean,
- 9:01Speaker 1: I would love to get good at ping pong. I
- 9:03Speaker 1: don't think it really. I don't think it really correlates
- 9:05Speaker 1: with tennis that much.
- 9:07Speaker 2: Oh, it's it's absolutely the same, dude. Really, your your
- 9:10Speaker 2: tennis game probably has helped your ping pong game.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Okay, I just haven't had to play ping pong a while,
- 9:14Speaker 1: but my tennis game is much better.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Absolutely, you probably. I can't wait for us to play again.
- 9:19Speaker 2: To be honest with you, I do miss that. I know.
- 9:21Speaker 1: I was thinking we could get a video game and
- 9:23Speaker 1: play online against each other.
- 9:24Speaker 2: If you don't play video games, you'd get your ass kick.
- 9:26Speaker 1: There's no real good video game tennis, is there.
- 9:29Speaker 2: There's a lot of good video game Why are you
- 9:31Speaker 2: yelling at me?
- 9:32Speaker 1: Which which one ps PSP.
- 9:35Speaker 2: Is that PlayStation? Place?
- 9:36Speaker 1: Which one? Which? Which system is a good tennis because
- 9:38Speaker 1: I would.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Like to socket Xbox Xbox PlayStation four.
- 9:42Speaker 1: Oh Dan is saying that the top Spin Spin is good. Man, Mario,
- 9:47Speaker 1: I don't want Mario. I don't I like I like
- 9:50Speaker 1: my player to look like a real person. I don't
- 9:52Speaker 1: want a little avatar running around like it's Mario versus Luigi.
- 9:55Speaker 2: Right, So you have a little bit of land or property,
- 9:58Speaker 2: there's this thing where you take the ball is connected
- 10:01Speaker 2: to like a rope. And remember that thing that what's
- 10:03Speaker 2: the wooden paddle with the rubber ball that you would hit.
- 10:06Speaker 1: It's called the wooden paddle with the rubber ball.
- 10:08Speaker 2: But what is that called where you and it's connected
- 10:11Speaker 2: and you hit it and its pop up b b
- 10:12Speaker 2: b b b B. Yeah, I know everyone knows your
- 10:14Speaker 2: there's a tennis version. There's a tennis version of that
- 10:17Speaker 2: where you can practice strokes where you hit it far
- 10:20Speaker 2: and it goes far out, bounces and then comes back
- 10:23Speaker 2: to you at the same speed. Yeah, you might like that.
- 10:26Speaker 2: I don't know what that's called, but that's somebody.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Because I need that for my Absolutely, I'm worried. I'm
- 10:31Speaker 1: forgetting everything.
- 10:32Speaker 2: All you got to do is say tennis near your phone.
- 10:34Speaker 2: I'm sure it'll pick it up and add or pop up.
- 10:37Speaker 1: I find myself just doing my stroke with with your
- 10:40Speaker 1: pantomime turned down, bah catch nice, repeating repeating my mantra.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Nice, you're getting really good at tennis. All right, let's
- 10:49Speaker 2: get into it. We're twenty two twenty minutes and well
- 10:52Speaker 2: you're the one I tell you about a paddle but
- 10:54Speaker 2: a ball and paddleball that's what it is. Some shiit
- 10:57Speaker 2: like that?
- 10:57Speaker 1: Right?
- 10:57Speaker 2: All right?
- 10:58Speaker 1: Listen, uh Sam Lloyd. It opens the episode. Let's talk
- 11:01Speaker 1: about how great Sam Lloyd is.
- 11:02Speaker 2: Sam Lloyd's amazing. Not only is he a funny comedic actor,
- 11:07Speaker 2: but he is an amazing singer. You want to talk
- 11:09Speaker 2: about a really good singer.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Yes, that a cappella group that's featured in later later
- 11:13Speaker 1: episodes is really Sam's band and the Blanks. Yeah, and
- 11:18Speaker 1: they after right after Scrubs, they were so popular. They
- 11:20Speaker 1: were really touring and doing gigs. Yeah, there's so talented
- 11:24Speaker 1: those guys.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Oh man, they do a they do a cover of
- 11:27Speaker 2: John Williams Superman theme song, and it is amazing.
- 11:31Speaker 1: You can find that if you're if you're if you're
- 11:33Speaker 1: a fan of The Blanks a cappella man, you can
- 11:35Speaker 1: find I think they probably even have an album or something.
- 11:38Speaker 1: You can find them doing.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Oh yeah, they're all over it tuned and they're amazing.
- 11:41Speaker 1: And he's Christopher Lloyd's nephew. Yes, I know I mentioned
- 11:46Speaker 1: not another episode maybe, yeah, a little trivia. Yes, And
- 11:49Speaker 1: I got to direct Christopher Lloyd in uh, in Going
- 11:52Speaker 1: and Style.
- 11:53Speaker 2: You also were in a play with Christopher.
- 11:56Speaker 1: I was in Twelfth Night in Central Park and the
- 11:58Speaker 1: Delacorte Theater with Christopher Lay And when I when I
- 12:01Speaker 1: went to direct him and Going into Style, I don't
- 12:04Speaker 1: think he had any recollection of what I was. Well. No,
- 12:11Speaker 1: he's an amazing man and I love him. But he
- 12:13Speaker 1: is a little bit like Doc.
- 12:15Speaker 2: He's a little like Oh, well, he's worked so much though,
- 12:18Speaker 2: you got to give the man a break.
- 12:19Speaker 1: I know I'm not giving I don't need to give
- 12:21Speaker 1: a break. He's a sweetheart. But I'm saying, when you
- 12:23Speaker 1: meet him, he's a little he is a little like Doc.
- 12:25Speaker 1: He's a little like.
- 12:30Speaker 2: One of my favorite Christopher Lloyd's stories is the story
- 12:33Speaker 2: of when he found out that Eric Stoltz wasn't doing
- 12:37Speaker 2: Marty McFly anymore, uh, and that Michael J. Fox was
- 12:40Speaker 2: doing it and uh, you know Eric Stoltz while it's
- 12:45Speaker 2: in this famous book that Justin Long gave me to read, right,
- 12:48Speaker 2: and it's like the making of back to the Futures one, two,
- 12:51Speaker 2: and three, and apparently Eric Stoltz told everybody on set,
- 12:55Speaker 2: don't call me Eric, call me Marty.
- 12:57Speaker 1: That can't be true.
- 12:59Speaker 2: This is in the book.
- 13:00Speaker 1: It's a very fun whenever I hear these stories about
- 13:03Speaker 1: people saying no eye contact and all these horrible behavior,
- 13:06Speaker 1: I just can't never believe it's true.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Okay, well this is go ahead, this is in the book,
- 13:11Speaker 2: you know, so everybody does it. He finally gets fired
- 13:15Speaker 2: and they bring Michael J.
- 13:16Speaker 3: Fox in.
- 13:17Speaker 2: But before they bring Michael J. Fox and they tell
- 13:18Speaker 2: Christopher Lloyd They're like, listen, so we had to fire
- 13:22Speaker 2: Eric and we're bringing someone in. He's like, well, who's Eric?
- 13:29Speaker 2: And they go to guy that was playing martyr and
- 13:34Speaker 2: they go no. He's like, oh okay. And then and
- 13:40Speaker 2: then they do and then and then they bring Michael J.
- 13:43Speaker 2: Fox in and they said the chemistry was like one
- 13:45Speaker 2: point and the rest is history, and now we have,
- 13:48Speaker 2: you know, back to the future.
- 13:49Speaker 1: He's amazing and I had a lot of fun working
- 13:51Speaker 1: with him, going and style.
- 13:53Speaker 2: He's you've worked with both of them. You've worked with
- 13:56Speaker 2: You've worked with Michael J. Fox, and you've worked with Christopher.
- 14:00Speaker 2: He worked with Doc and Marty.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Yes, I know Doc and Marty. Yeah, we try and
- 14:05Speaker 1: get Michael J. Fox on when we get to him.
- 14:08Speaker 2: That would be kind of cool. Maybe Bill can pull
- 14:10Speaker 2: his Bill strings, that would be great.
- 14:13Speaker 1: At forty five seconds in, there's the most cartoonish dry
- 14:15Speaker 1: by noise, and I know Bill kept saying like, oh,
- 14:18Speaker 1: and this is when I was starting to phase out
- 14:20Speaker 1: the sound effects, but I was like, not yet, bro,
- 14:22Speaker 1: because this episode has so many sound effects in it.
- 14:27Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. There are a couple of
- 14:30Speaker 2: those in here. You behind the door when you look
- 14:32Speaker 2: away and you come back and then you look back
- 14:34Speaker 2: in again. That was hilarious.
- 14:36Speaker 1: There's a funny thing that happens with you know. They
- 14:38Speaker 1: would always try and time it so that if there
- 14:41Speaker 1: was a holiday like Halloween, it was airing, it was
- 14:45Speaker 1: airing around Halloween, and we'd have like our Halloween episode, right.
- 14:48Speaker 1: And it's funny though, because at fifty one seconds in
- 14:51Speaker 1: you don't really know that yet, but there's two nurses
- 14:53Speaker 1: that walk by in the background with ears on, and
- 14:56Speaker 1: I was like, my brain went to, oh, this must
- 14:59Speaker 1: be the Halloween episode. But if you didn't have the
- 15:00Speaker 1: context yet, it's just so weird, like, why are those
- 15:02Speaker 1: background people wearing wacky Halloween ears?
- 15:06Speaker 2: Speaking of background, this is the first time we see
- 15:08Speaker 2: Snoop Dogg.
- 15:11Speaker 1: I spotted him too.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Buddy Manly Henry wrote it.
- 15:16Speaker 1: I wrote it down because it was a big moment.
- 15:19Speaker 2: Well, he's walking in the hallway. He's in the.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Surprise I saw him in the surprise room.
- 15:23Speaker 2: Well he's walking in the hallway. Well way before that.
- 15:26Speaker 1: But for those of you who don't know, what would
- 15:28Speaker 1: happen was that these background performers were the same people
- 15:32Speaker 1: every day. I mean, lots would rotate, but a lot
- 15:34Speaker 1: of them would be the same folks every day. We
- 15:36Speaker 1: got to know them and became friendly with them all.
- 15:39Speaker 1: And some of them Bill would pick out because he
- 15:42Speaker 1: thought or one of the other writer would pick out
- 15:44Speaker 1: and go, oh my god, he's got an interesting look,
- 15:46Speaker 1: or he's funny, or he can actually deliver a line.
- 15:48Speaker 1: And they would get lines occasionally. Well, someone thought that
- 15:53Speaker 1: Manley Henry looked like a Snoop Dogg.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Do you think that, Yeah, they kind of do. They
- 15:58Speaker 2: kind of do favor each other if you look at them.
- 16:01Speaker 2: I mean, he's tall, he's black, gotta look like.
- 16:05Speaker 1: More than that anyway, so Manly Henry who is Snoop
- 16:10Speaker 1: Dogg Attending Resident and everything else makes it.
- 16:12Speaker 2: He started off snoop Dogg in Turn and then he
- 16:15Speaker 2: became snoop Dogg Resident. Yeah, and then he became snoop
- 16:18Speaker 2: Dogg Attending. He's a big fan of our podcast.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Man, he did you talk?
- 16:23Speaker 2: Yeah, he's still in my d He promotes our podcast
- 16:26Speaker 2: on his Instagram page and stuff like that. He's a sweetheart, man,
- 16:29Speaker 2: He's a very sweet guy.
- 16:30Speaker 1: And anyway, so this is a shout out for Manley
- 16:33Speaker 1: Henry for your first appearance. If you, if you. I
- 16:36Speaker 1: didn't see him walk by, but I saw him in
- 16:37Speaker 1: the surprise fantasy. He's in the background.
- 16:40Speaker 2: There shout out Snoop Dogg in Turn.
- 16:42Speaker 1: I have no memory of doing that type of walk gang.
- 16:45Speaker 1: This is one of the first fantasies I've absolutely no
- 16:47Speaker 1: memory of.
- 16:47Speaker 2: I have no memory of the episode, dude, you remember
- 16:49Speaker 2: the episode of the whole episode like and you so
- 16:54Speaker 2: recently when watching the show, there have been little things
- 16:56Speaker 2: that have come on that I was like, oh wow,
- 16:58Speaker 2: you know what, I take it back. I do remember
- 16:59Speaker 2: the Miss Jones part, but usually I'm like, okay. In
- 17:04Speaker 2: the first round when I said, I didn't remember the
- 17:08Speaker 2: Asspin episode until I said, you know, I think I'm
- 17:09Speaker 2: gonna get her a nice pin and I was like,
- 17:11Speaker 2: holy shit, it's the ass Pen episode. You know what
- 17:13Speaker 2: I mean. There's always something.
- 17:15Speaker 1: You remember, the missus Jones, right, and I'm sure you
- 17:19Speaker 1: remembered one of the greatest guest stars of all time,
- 17:23Speaker 1: Jimmy Walker.
- 17:24Speaker 2: Absolutely and a very lovely line reading, by the way,
- 17:27Speaker 2: also by him. I think he totally made the joke better.
- 17:30Speaker 2: Like I wrote that down. I wrote down, Wow, what
- 17:32Speaker 2: an interesting way to say that line. And Jimmy Walker, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 17:38Speaker 1: Plea should stop for one second. For those of you
- 17:40Speaker 1: who don't know, because some of you were young, Jimmy Walker,
- 17:43Speaker 1: who's in my fantasy around sixteen eleven seconds, was the
- 17:48Speaker 1: star of a very popular show when we were growing
- 17:51Speaker 1: up called Good Times.
- 17:52Speaker 2: Yes, one of the most realistic shows about project life
- 17:57Speaker 2: on television. As an African American male growing up, I
- 18:01Speaker 2: mean the show was called good Times, but they didn't
- 18:04Speaker 2: have the most good times on that show. Man things
- 18:06Speaker 2: bad things would happen, like the dad died, like all
- 18:09Speaker 2: types of shit, and the.
- 18:10Speaker 1: White kids in the suburbs. It was like myself. It
- 18:13Speaker 1: was educational because not only was it hilarious, but I
- 18:17Speaker 1: watched shows like that and What's Happening, and it was
- 18:21Speaker 1: it got to show a different side of the way
- 18:25Speaker 1: people lived, and we didn't I didn't know anything about
- 18:27Speaker 1: the projects when I was a little kid growing up
- 18:29Speaker 1: in the Jersey suburbs, right, And you fell in love
- 18:32Speaker 1: with this in Good Times and you just followed them
- 18:36Speaker 1: through and like, like like a lot of comedies, I like,
- 18:39Speaker 1: they would also be heartbreaking, right right, they would keep
- 18:42Speaker 1: it like would they would go deep into.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, they went deep into drama on Good Times.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Janet Jackson was on Good Times, you know what I mean.
- 18:49Speaker 2: She played Penny. Her mom was abusive and like burnt
- 18:54Speaker 2: her with an iron type shit abusive, you know what
- 18:56Speaker 2: I mean, like for real, for real?
- 18:58Speaker 1: Right.
- 18:59Speaker 2: Her mom was so bad that they took her away
- 19:01Speaker 2: from her mom and she lived with Alma, who was
- 19:04Speaker 2: the next door neighbor. Oh right, right, you don't remember anything.
- 19:06Speaker 1: I don't remember that episode, but I do remember being
- 19:08Speaker 1: young and being like totally in love with that show.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Am I right about that? It's Alma? Right, I'm not tripping.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Joell's googling Joe Well and what about what's happening?
- 19:19Speaker 2: We also had Thelma Watch it be Thelma or some
- 19:21Speaker 2: shit like that.
- 19:22Speaker 1: We also had the legendary fred Barry.
- 19:25Speaker 2: Rerun rerun, Frederick run Berry came on. He came on
- 19:29Speaker 2: the show right before he passed away. Actually he passed
- 19:32Speaker 2: away like a couple of months after he was on
- 19:35Speaker 2: the show, I believe, But I remember. I remember we
- 19:38Speaker 2: all got dressed up like Fredrie run Berry and he
- 19:40Speaker 2: taught us how to do the dance and everything like that. Yeah,
- 19:43Speaker 2: that was a lot of fun.
- 19:44Speaker 1: I remember that Jimmy Walker wouldn't say dynamite unless you
- 19:47Speaker 1: paid him the next level money. Oh really, Yeah, I
- 19:50Speaker 1: remember that being a thing when they told us Jimmy
- 19:52Speaker 1: Walker was coming on, and was like, oh my god.
- 19:54Speaker 1: Oh again. Sorry for those who don't know. He had
- 19:56Speaker 1: a catchphrase on Good Times and he'd go dine oh
- 19:59Speaker 1: Mike right, Donald.
- 20:01Speaker 2: Dyna might He was kid dynamite. That was his. That's
- 20:04Speaker 2: who he was. He was kid dynamite. JJ James, like every.
- 20:08Speaker 1: Good sitcom star. He had a catchphrase and uh and
- 20:11Speaker 1: dyna mighte was his, but he wouldn't say it on
- 20:13Speaker 1: Scrubs unless you like up the rig understandably.
- 20:16Speaker 2: Like I get it.
- 20:17Speaker 1: Pay them.
- 20:18Speaker 2: You know, that's like asking Gary Coleman to say what
- 20:20Speaker 2: you're talking about Willis.
- 20:21Speaker 1: I imagine if Gary Coleman come on Scrubs, he would
- 20:24Speaker 1: have said, Hey, I'll come on for this fee. But
- 20:26Speaker 1: if you want what you talking about Willis, it's this
- 20:28Speaker 1: amount of money. There's a premium for what you're talking about. Willis. Absolutely,
- 20:32Speaker 1: I bet paid.
- 20:34Speaker 2: I'll put the money on it.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Yeah. Wait, did Gary Coleman pass too? Right?
- 20:39Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 20:39Speaker 1: He did? Wow, all three of these. Did Jimmy Walker die?
- 20:43Speaker 2: No, Jimmy Walker still alive.
- 20:44Speaker 1: But it's interesting that Fred Barry and Gary Coleman.
- 20:49Speaker 2: Yeah, a lot of a lot of our favorite sitcom
- 20:52Speaker 2: stars when we were young passed away from either drugs
- 20:55Speaker 2: or you know.
- 20:57Speaker 1: A Different Strokes cast has just been the most track.
- 21:01Speaker 2: I mean, Todd Bridges is my doppel gang. You're still living.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Todd Bridges is still alive.
- 21:06Speaker 1: Todd's still alive, but a lot of the others have had.
- 21:10Speaker 2: Todd's had a pretty good career after Different Strokes. He
- 21:14Speaker 2: went on to I mean, he's been a very good
- 21:17Speaker 2: actor in the projects that he's been in.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Different Strokes, so much that was like my favorite show.
- 21:22Speaker 2: Absolutely yeah, but everything happened to that family. Man, everything
- 21:26Speaker 2: happened to that family. How many times does Arnold get kidnapped?
- 21:29Speaker 2: He's been child molested, He's all types of things.
- 21:32Speaker 1: He got he was.
- 21:36Speaker 2: Right. But not only was Dudley molested. His dad smoked
- 21:39Speaker 2: a lot of cigarettes and had you know there was
- 21:42Speaker 2: a cigarette episode, Like like, everything happened to that family.
- 21:45Speaker 1: And then when nothing else, everything happened to everybody. Look
- 21:48Speaker 1: at the show er like, imagine all the sudden that's
- 21:50Speaker 1: happened in that er.
- 21:51Speaker 2: But I'm just saying, after everything happened to every character
- 21:53Speaker 2: on that show, they went out and got Sam so
- 21:56Speaker 2: everything could happen to Sam. And Sam was an anomaly.
- 21:59Speaker 2: He was a freaking country singing, breakdancing, I could break
- 22:03Speaker 2: dance and played the guitar, mister d He was all
- 22:05Speaker 2: of that shit.
- 22:06Speaker 1: That is when they brought Sam on, it was the end.
- 22:09Speaker 1: It was the end.
- 22:11Speaker 2: That's another show that went from a network that switched networks.
- 22:15Speaker 1: I was trying to bring it, trying to get the
- 22:17Speaker 1: ratings back up because Gary was such a cute kid,
- 22:20Speaker 1: and then when he got older, they were like, we
- 22:22Speaker 1: need a new cute kid, bring in the red haired
- 22:25Speaker 1: country singing.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Kid, the country Breakdancer.
- 22:28Speaker 1: I don't have any memories of Sam episodes. Really, I
- 22:31Speaker 1: think I tuned out there it is I was local
- 22:34Speaker 1: to Gary. I was like, should we get back to
- 22:44Speaker 1: the show Donalds.
- 22:45Speaker 2: Absolutely, Christa Miller, Holy cow man, Let's begin with holy cow.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Has she looks so hot?
- 22:53Speaker 2: She is so hot.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Let me tell you something about Krystal Miller. She was
- 22:57Speaker 1: the very first cover.
- 22:58Speaker 2: Of maxim was it maximums stuff?
- 23:00Speaker 1: I'm looking at the still of her she uh, two
- 23:03Speaker 1: thirty two? She looks obviously. Bill was like, not only
- 23:06Speaker 1: is kristin a knockout, but you know the boss was like,
- 23:08Speaker 1: all right, I want the filter, I want the backlight,
- 23:10Speaker 1: I want.
- 23:11Speaker 3: The slow motion, I want the fan. That's the first
- 23:13Speaker 3: time I want the dolly push in. Yeah, we did
- 23:15Speaker 3: a bunch on Scruggs, but like she got the first
- 23:18Speaker 3: oh moment of like the hot chipwalking in Absolutely.
- 23:22Speaker 2: I also noticed that her character talks exactly the way
- 23:25Speaker 2: Cox talked. Yeah, and if you go back and watch it,
- 23:29Speaker 2: that storyline very attracts, very well, like when the reveal happens,
- 23:34Speaker 2: If you go back and look at how she talked
- 23:36Speaker 2: to JD before the reveal of them being ex husband
- 23:40Speaker 2: and wife. It's like JD's talking to a female version
- 23:44Speaker 2: of Cox in the in the scene.
- 23:46Speaker 1: Yeah, because she's like just got rattling off these sort
- 23:49Speaker 1: of wise Ansmartins. Absolutely, and it's very quick witted and
- 23:53Speaker 1: it's funny. I think she's inspired by Christa herself, if
- 23:56Speaker 1: I could be so bold, because you know, christ is a.
- 23:59Speaker 2: Tough Yeah, it ain't not soft about I mean there's
- 24:04Speaker 2: a lot of soft about Krista and once you get
- 24:06Speaker 2: to know her, but when you first meet her, yeah,
- 24:09Speaker 2: she's a very she could be a bit scary. Yeah,
- 24:11Speaker 2: she she had no problem and she has no problem
- 24:14Speaker 2: letting you know, back the fuck off dude.
- 24:17Speaker 1: Yeah, and she and Bill can both be snarky. And
- 24:21Speaker 1: I used to say, did you guys meet it mean camp?
- 24:23Speaker 1: Because they but so here I am. I've got this
- 24:29Speaker 1: brand new job and I'm so excited. And I read
- 24:32Speaker 1: the script and it says that I'm going to make
- 24:34Speaker 1: out with my boss's wife.
- 24:36Speaker 2: Did you know that it was going to be his wife?
- 24:39Speaker 1: You know, I had met Krista threw Bill at the
- 24:41Speaker 1: table read and stuff, and I knew she was obviously
- 24:44Speaker 1: from Drew Carrey and Drew carry was still going, yeah, yeah,
- 24:47Speaker 1: absolutely it was, And that show is very popular, and
- 24:49Speaker 1: of course she was in magazines and she's so pretty,
- 24:52Speaker 1: and so I of course knew she was, but I
- 24:54Speaker 1: had barely met her, and I was totally intimidated and
- 24:57Speaker 1: scared by her. I remember, it's kissing, it's not. It's
- 25:00Speaker 1: funny rewatching the show now, and it's not in the show.
- 25:02Speaker 1: But I remember we filmed us making out, and I
- 25:06Speaker 1: was so nervous. I was. I remember being like, this
- 25:09Speaker 1: is the weirdest job in the world. I'm make out
- 25:13Speaker 1: with my really pretty boss's wife for him.
- 25:16Speaker 2: Yeah, and how do you think he felt about it?
- 25:19Speaker 2: That's I think he liked it a bit.
- 25:20Speaker 1: I think he's a little bit like that. So I'm
- 25:22Speaker 1: gonna be so bold to say that man's a little kinky.
- 25:25Speaker 2: Yeah, he's got a little bit of cakey.
- 25:26Speaker 1: I think he might like it. We can we can
- 25:30Speaker 1: insert a budget Joelle Bill Lawrence's voice note here, we
- 25:33Speaker 1: gotta ask him, did you did you like it a
- 25:35Speaker 1: little bit?
- 25:36Speaker 4: No, Zach and Donald, I don't enjoy forcing actors to
- 25:41Speaker 4: make out with my wife on television. I enjoy that
- 25:46Speaker 4: in our in our personal lives, but just not on TV.
- 25:50Speaker 4: It's part of the gig though, right because I dook.
- 25:53Speaker 4: I enjoyed watching how uncomfortable Zach was that first year
- 25:58Speaker 4: having to kiss my wife, but it was all acting
- 26:01Speaker 4: rights acting because he.
- 26:03Speaker 2: Brought her back and then made Johnny do the same thing.
- 26:06Speaker 1: Yeah, well during this episode too, I think he was.
- 26:09Speaker 1: You know, there's some dudes who are into that. I
- 26:10Speaker 1: think Bill might like a smidget of that. I I mean,
- 26:19Speaker 1: I don't know that I would be. I would probably
- 26:21Speaker 1: be jealous.
- 26:21Speaker 2: But yeah, I don't share. I don't like to share.
- 26:24Speaker 2: I wonder if my wife. My wife says some of
- 26:26Speaker 2: the craziest things when when I have kissing scenes with people,
- 26:30Speaker 2: Like I remember my wife being like, like one time
- 26:32Speaker 2: I kissed the girl on television and she was like, well,
- 26:35Speaker 2: that wasn't believable.
- 26:37Speaker 1: Like what the trick with a TV slash movie kiss
- 26:41Speaker 1: is not is just to open your mouth but not
- 26:44Speaker 1: be jamming your tongue in anyone's.
- 26:45Speaker 2: Mouth, right, And for a lot of people, jamming your
- 26:49Speaker 2: tongue in someone's mouth isn't necessarily the way they like
- 26:54Speaker 2: to kiss. So some people in real life kiss like
- 26:57Speaker 2: they kiss on television where it's just an open mouth kiss.
- 27:00Speaker 1: But have you found with your movie TV kisses that
- 27:03Speaker 1: the onus is on you? I think is a man
- 27:05Speaker 1: to be like, all right, let the female set what
- 27:08Speaker 1: this is going to be. That's how I think about it.
- 27:11Speaker 1: And then sometimes you're like, whoa, you're really going all out.
- 27:14Speaker 1: There's a tongue in my mouth.
- 27:16Speaker 2: Right. Somebody told me that they even have like mediators
- 27:20Speaker 2: that come in, like people that uh, stage this now.
- 27:23Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a new thing now, which is definitely good
- 27:25Speaker 1: because no one ever knew what to do. And now,
- 27:27Speaker 1: of course in this stage it's they have people come
- 27:30Speaker 1: in and go, Okay, let's all talk about what this
- 27:31Speaker 1: is going to be and let's choreograph it and right.
- 27:33Speaker 1: But when we were doing this, it was just I
- 27:35Speaker 1: would have these different guest stars. I don't know. I
- 27:38Speaker 1: just remember being embarrassed as I watched some like with
- 27:41Speaker 1: Amy Smart, that we were just like full on going
- 27:45Speaker 1: at it, and and I was like, this is a sitcom,
- 27:48Speaker 1: like we shouldn't be seeing our tongues like from the
- 27:51Speaker 1: side of our kiss. It's a little I was very
- 27:53Speaker 1: giddy about Amy Smart.
- 27:54Speaker 2: I must confess, yes, you were very giddy about Amy
- 27:58Speaker 2: and if there.
- 27:59Speaker 1: Were tongues flying, I was. I wanted to be a
- 28:01Speaker 1: part of it. I had such a crush on Amy.
- 28:07Speaker 2: Yeah you did. That was Oh my gosh. I remember, listen,
- 28:11Speaker 2: you have something.
- 28:11Speaker 1: I've never been so happy at work as that.
- 28:13Speaker 2: That was prett Yeah, because your crush for Amy Smart
- 28:16Speaker 2: came well before she was ever on the show.
- 28:19Speaker 1: My crustion from maybe Smart went back to Todd Phillips's movie.
- 28:23Speaker 2: Road Trip, road Trip, Yeah, Breck and Meyer.
- 28:26Speaker 1: Wreck and Meyer. Todd Phillips, who's now an Oscar nominated
- 28:32Speaker 1: director for The Worker.
- 28:33Speaker 2: For the Joker. Who else is it that Tom Greens in?
- 28:36Speaker 1: Then? I don't remember the movie. I just remember being like, wow,
- 28:40Speaker 1: that that woman is so pretty to me.
- 28:42Speaker 2: Yeah, well she was on, yes, and she was.
- 28:46Speaker 1: She was very funny. Yeah she's very funny, all right.
- 28:48Speaker 2: But not in this episode, buddy, she wasn't in this episode.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Sorry, christ We're back to how hot you are? We
- 28:53Speaker 1: got we digressed and started talking about name this morning.
- 28:56Speaker 1: We gotta have Christa on.
- 28:57Speaker 2: By the way, I agree with you one hundred percent.
- 28:59Speaker 2: I think we should have Johnny and Judy.
- 29:00Speaker 1: Of course, Johnny and christ so we gotta get we
- 29:02Speaker 1: got to schedule them.
- 29:04Speaker 2: Try and get Neil and Ken. It'd be really interesting.
- 29:06Speaker 1: Let's go through all the main stars and then and
- 29:10Speaker 1: then and then and start being in them directors and writers.
- 29:12Speaker 2: And well, let's ask the fans also who they want
- 29:15Speaker 2: to see?
- 29:15Speaker 1: Just drop us, tell us on the social media. Who
- 29:19Speaker 1: do you want to hear?
- 29:19Speaker 2: Yeah? Who you want to hear? Here, guys, we'll reach
- 29:22Speaker 2: out to anyone.
- 29:23Speaker 1: Do you remember the Magic Garden when we were growing up?
- 29:26Speaker 2: Absolutely no.
- 29:27Speaker 1: I don't know if you had this if you're listening
- 29:29Speaker 1: where you grew up, but it was was it like
- 29:30Speaker 1: a local East Coast I feel like it.
- 29:33Speaker 2: Was like a PBS show, But I'm sure there were
- 29:36Speaker 2: so many people who were local.
- 29:38Speaker 1: I don't know, because we grew up a half hour
- 29:40Speaker 1: from each other, him, me and Jersey and him in Manhattan.
- 29:42Speaker 1: But anyway, there was this logo show, and I remember
- 29:44Speaker 1: at the end they would go and and she'd have
- 29:47Speaker 1: like a magic class, and she'd look into the camera
- 29:49Speaker 1: and she'd go, n I see Jin and John and
- 29:53Speaker 1: Tony do you remember And she would just list.
- 29:55Speaker 2: Off like a bunch of names.
- 29:56Speaker 1: Ye, a bunch of names. And of course now as
- 29:57Speaker 1: an adult, I'm going, oh, the woman was just listing
- 29:59Speaker 1: off the those popular names, so the maximum amount of
- 30:02Speaker 1: kids go oh my god, she sees she never said
- 30:05Speaker 1: does she ever say Donald?
- 30:06Speaker 2: No, well, I didn't go as Donald as a kid.
- 30:08Speaker 2: I was at Dao Shoon.
- 30:09Speaker 1: So funny. She's like, I see Tom and John and
- 30:14Speaker 1: Adeo Shoon. I love that show. I would love that.
- 30:19Speaker 1: I got a YouTube the Magic Garden, but I remember
- 30:21Speaker 1: just being tripped out. The reason I thought of that
- 30:23Speaker 1: random thought was like, we could do that with her
- 30:25Speaker 1: before we go, Hey, hey, John, Tom, Jennifer, Jessica, we'd
- 30:31Speaker 1: like to hear what you think.
- 30:33Speaker 2: And then you got to say some like different names
- 30:35Speaker 2: that Mosha fu kwan A, Bertha, Tariq, Malik, Taick because
- 30:43Speaker 2: some people aren't Tarik, some people are Taick.
- 30:46Speaker 1: Some people are Anthrony.
- 30:47Speaker 2: We found that out. Yes there is an Anthony.
- 30:50Speaker 1: Yes, Shalom.
- 30:52Speaker 2: I don't know anybody named Shalom.
- 30:53Speaker 1: I do.
- 30:54Speaker 2: But that's like asked, do you know any white people
- 30:56Speaker 2: with the last name Washington? No, do you know any
- 31:00Speaker 2: white people with the last name Jefferson Thomas? Yeah, that's
- 31:05Speaker 2: saying something, isn't it.
- 31:08Speaker 1: Listen, let's talk about you and me, missus Jones. So
- 31:11Speaker 1: you're in the end of the room and you're singing
- 31:12Speaker 1: the song. If it was really sexy and romantic, I
- 31:15Speaker 1: felt like you and Judy were really to make out
- 31:18Speaker 1: for real.
- 31:18Speaker 2: There I was saying that. I was I was gonna
- 31:21Speaker 2: say that about the show. Uh, Carla and Turk are
- 31:25Speaker 2: so cute.
- 31:26Speaker 1: Yeah, they're so cute.
- 31:28Speaker 2: You really root for them. And I find myself when
- 31:32Speaker 2: I watch it. I find myself, you know, looking back
- 31:35Speaker 2: at it. Obviously, I thought, uh, Judy Rayes was is
- 31:41Speaker 2: and still is an amazing actress. But I looked at
- 31:44Speaker 2: her like my sister, you know what I mean. And
- 31:46Speaker 2: so when we did the scenes, it was, you know,
- 31:49Speaker 2: me doing scenes with my sister. Now that I look
- 31:52Speaker 2: back at it, though, it's like, wow, we had such
- 31:56Speaker 2: good chemistry, because you did.
- 31:57Speaker 1: But I don't think it was like your sister, did you.
- 32:00Speaker 2: Judy was Judy was the type of per Listen, you
- 32:03Speaker 2: were attracted her when I look well, yeah, when we
- 32:06Speaker 2: did scenes and stuff like that. But when I look back,
- 32:09Speaker 2: let me finish. When I look back at it now,
- 32:10Speaker 2: I'm like, yo, dude, I wonder why I never looked
- 32:15Speaker 2: at Judy and I know why because you know they're
- 32:18Speaker 2: a saying never shit where you eat, you know what
- 32:20Speaker 2: I mean, that's not.
- 32:21Speaker 1: You didn't allow yourself to fall in love or.
- 32:25Speaker 2: To feel that type of way. But when I look
- 32:27Speaker 2: back at it now, I'm like, holy cow, Judy was
- 32:30Speaker 2: there his whole time, and she looks, oh like, well,
- 32:35Speaker 2: not only that, she's just such an amazing actress, you
- 32:38Speaker 2: know what I mean. And she played Carlos, so you
- 32:41Speaker 2: know so well. You know, she spoke for a lot
- 32:44Speaker 2: of people. You know, Judy did for nurses for for
- 32:48Speaker 2: uh at the time, there won a lot of latinas
- 32:50Speaker 2: on television, you know what I mean. It was like
- 32:52Speaker 2: j Lo and that's it, dude, you know what I mean,
- 32:54Speaker 2: twenty years ago, and Judy was the other one, you
- 32:57Speaker 2: know what I mean. And so you know, big prop
- 33:00Speaker 2: to Judy rays Man.
- 33:01Speaker 1: You. I also wanted to say that it's interesting in
- 33:03Speaker 1: this episode that both women are are really in charge
- 33:09Speaker 1: of of their sexuality and their power in the bedroom.
- 33:13Speaker 1: Is I just noticed that there's a parallel on this
- 33:16Speaker 1: Both Carla and Jordan are calling the shots in these
- 33:21Speaker 1: sexual encounters.
- 33:23Speaker 2: But that's how it should be, you know what I mean.
- 33:24Speaker 2: If we're in it together. We're all doing this. You
- 33:27Speaker 2: know what I mean.
- 33:27Speaker 1: Well, I mean it could be whoever a couple wants it.
- 33:30Speaker 1: But I'm just saying I noticed just in this episode
- 33:33Speaker 1: that there's there's some of these parallel stories of of
- 33:37Speaker 1: of strong women in the bedroom, and and Jordan says
- 33:40Speaker 1: to JD, you had absolutely nothing to do with why
- 33:42Speaker 1: I left with you. I thought that was really funny.
- 33:44Speaker 2: I thought that was hilarious when she's given you the
- 33:46Speaker 2: whole speeches, like you know, you meet someone and you
- 33:48Speaker 2: hope that it goes. I'm sorry that we've got a date.
- 33:53Speaker 1: I also allowed I laughed out loud at four fifty
- 33:56Speaker 1: one when you said, tell her put the game down.
- 33:58Speaker 2: Tell telling them what I let him, put the cane down.
- 34:02Speaker 2: I had no recollection of that.
- 34:04Speaker 1: You don't hear that seat.
- 34:05Speaker 2: I don't remember that at all. That shit had me rolling.
- 34:08Speaker 1: You don't remember that woman at all.
- 34:10Speaker 2: No, I know that, I know that the character passes
- 34:12Speaker 2: away later on.
- 34:12Speaker 1: I do know that Boilers.
- 34:14Speaker 2: I mean, if you haven't watched the show.
- 34:16Speaker 1: I think if you've listening to this, he watched the
- 34:18Speaker 1: show was funny.
- 34:20Speaker 2: Put the cane down, telling her to put the cane down. Also,
- 34:24Speaker 2: Elliot sees the janitor and the whole angry Yeah, I
- 34:28Speaker 2: told you that little freaking the janitor is a figment
- 34:31Speaker 2: of JD's imagination. It doesn't track telling.
- 34:34Speaker 1: Donald, I know, and I'm sad about it because it
- 34:36Speaker 1: was a beautiful lore and I don't poke holes in
- 34:39Speaker 1: in in in allure that I feel like Bill himself
- 34:42Speaker 1: has propagated. But he doesn't remember all these little moments.
- 34:46Speaker 1: And you know what Sarah told every We've all been
- 34:49Speaker 1: saying the season one, he didn't talk to anyone and
- 34:51Speaker 1: he doesn't really, but he does interact with Sarah. I
- 34:54Speaker 1: wrote it down.
- 34:55Speaker 2: Donald's absolutely because what she does triggers him to do
- 34:58Speaker 2: what he does to you up.
- 35:01Speaker 1: And so I'm sorry, I'm sad to say we are.
- 35:04Speaker 1: I feel like we're like detectives and we're uncovering the truth. Absolutely,
- 35:10Speaker 1: that little, that little bit of Scrubs lore is bullshit.
- 35:14Speaker 2: Well, not only that, they also set up something that
- 35:18Speaker 2: goes away for a while, but Elliott's relationship with her mom. Also,
- 35:22Speaker 2: Elliott talking to her mom on the on the telephone
- 35:26Speaker 2: and her mom talking about how short hair gives her
- 35:28Speaker 2: pig face. Yes so, but later on we bring in
- 35:32Speaker 2: Markey Post yes, absolutely, to play Elliot's mom, and the
- 35:38Speaker 2: storyline still works from that phone call. But they set
- 35:41Speaker 2: it up in this phone call. I don't know how
- 35:43Speaker 2: many episodes later or how it might even been seasons
- 35:46Speaker 2: when Marquee comes on.
- 35:48Speaker 1: Right, I forgot when that happens, when all our parents come.
- 35:50Speaker 1: But yeah, so you're getting backstory on Sarah. And also
- 35:55Speaker 1: there's a big thing in this episode about therapy. I mean,
- 35:57Speaker 1: I was watching you give like a advocates for therapy
- 36:01Speaker 1: in this episode, and I thought I was just watching this,
- 36:03Speaker 1: going that's a good public service announcement for people to hear,
- 36:06Speaker 1: you know, from a character they like, this is two
- 36:09Speaker 1: thousand and one. And I think this depending on how
- 36:14Speaker 1: you grew up. I happened to grow up with my
- 36:16Speaker 1: mom was a psychologist and my stepfather was a psychologist.
- 36:18Speaker 1: I had therapy all over my life. But depending on
- 36:20Speaker 1: how it grew up, there can be stigma around it.
- 36:23Speaker 1: And I was happy to see that Bill and the
- 36:26Speaker 1: writers wrote in this sort of you know, advocacy for
- 36:30Speaker 1: seeing a therapist.
- 36:31Speaker 2: Oh, I totally agree. It's really interesting. How you know
- 36:35Speaker 2: it's twenty years ago, but we're still talking about issues
- 36:38Speaker 2: that are really important today. And I know we bring
- 36:41Speaker 2: this up a lot, but I'm really proud of that.
- 36:43Speaker 2: You know, I'm really proud to be on a show
- 36:45Speaker 2: that that did that. Even every time I see something
- 36:48Speaker 2: like that, I'm like, holy cow, we were talking about
- 36:51Speaker 2: that well before, like even the talking about the Rock
- 36:54Speaker 2: and how the Rock was a movie star. I'm proud
- 36:57Speaker 2: that we knew that back then we called it, you
- 36:59Speaker 2: know what I mean, I'm so I I am so
- 37:03Speaker 2: happy that we knew what the heck we were talking about.
- 37:06Speaker 2: The Simpsons do it a lot.
- 37:07Speaker 1: Oh yeah, they always forecast well anyway, you know, Donald
- 37:11Speaker 1: and I both believe in in therapy. So if you're
- 37:15Speaker 1: we're here to say, we're here to say that if
- 37:18Speaker 1: you're having trouble and you need help, you should please
- 37:20Speaker 1: see a therapist now, because it's there's been plenty of
- 37:23Speaker 1: times in my life where that has been very very
- 37:25Speaker 1: helpful to me to get me through some rocky times.
- 37:29Speaker 1: And uh, as a as a as a son of
- 37:32Speaker 1: a of two therapists psychologists, I have to repeat that
- 37:36Speaker 1: it's been very helpful for me at times, and.
- 37:39Speaker 2: It seems to really work for Elliott who's having a
- 37:42Speaker 2: really hard time in this episode.
- 37:45Speaker 1: That was funny. That guy did a good job. The
- 37:47Speaker 1: whole got to hear the guy just can't talk to
- 37:50Speaker 1: Elliott sitting there asking for free therapy.
- 37:54Speaker 2: That joke is hilarious. How does it make you feel?
- 37:57Speaker 2: She goes, I don't know what makes me feel, and
- 37:58Speaker 2: then he puts up the sign pills so I don't
- 38:02Speaker 2: need to do pain pills.
- 38:03Speaker 1: He's like, for me, that's funny. I laughed at six
- 38:07Speaker 1: fifty one when when Ken goes, heck, maybe even get
- 38:11Speaker 1: to meet Charro.
- 38:12Speaker 2: Right, but that's such a such a smart joke.
- 38:16Speaker 1: To explain to the young folks that Charro was often
- 38:18Speaker 1: on the show love Boat, and he's making a we
- 38:20Speaker 1: got a lot of eighties TV references in this episode.
- 38:22Speaker 2: Absolutely, but he But it's such a smart joke also
- 38:26Speaker 2: because you know, that's one of those shows where the
- 38:29Speaker 2: doctor on the ship cares about everyone on the boat
- 38:33Speaker 2: and wants to make sure that everyone on the boat
- 38:35Speaker 2: lives right and or whatever it is, it's healthy, et cetera.
- 38:39Speaker 2: And Cox got suspended for breaking the rules and caring
- 38:44Speaker 2: about his patient, and so the joke goes even deeper
- 38:47Speaker 2: when he says to him, you know, maybe you should
- 38:49Speaker 2: get on a cruise ship. I don't know. They could
- 38:51Speaker 2: call you Doc and you guys could sail in from
- 38:53Speaker 2: wherever to wherever and you could maybe even meet Charro.
- 38:56Speaker 2: Yeah that makes so much sense to the character itself,
- 39:00Speaker 2: and the joke is funny also, you know what I mean,
- 39:03Speaker 2: like it all blinds.
- 39:05Speaker 1: We end up having a lot of love boat docs on.
- 39:07Speaker 2: Yeah, we did have some love We had Doc, we
- 39:10Speaker 2: had Isaac, we had I know they were on the show.
- 39:13Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, okay.
- 39:14Speaker 2: We also had Saying Elsewhere. We had some of the
- 39:16Speaker 2: oh yeah, we did a whole episodes with Ed Bagueley.
- 39:20Speaker 2: We had a bunch of people.
- 39:21Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, see this is our memory. So screwge
- 39:23Speaker 1: Scrubs fans. So sorry if you're if you're laughing at
- 39:25Speaker 1: we all, but we vaguely do.
- 39:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 39:28Speaker 1: So at seven to twenty five, Ken walks off singing
- 39:30Speaker 1: row your boat. And for those of you who don't know,
- 39:32Speaker 1: there's all these songs that are public domain, which means
- 39:34Speaker 1: you don't have to pay to use them because on
- 39:37Speaker 1: a TV show, if it's if it's if it's not
- 39:40Speaker 1: a public domain song, if the license it, and they
- 39:42Speaker 1: can obviously be some of these songs we had on
- 39:44Speaker 1: scrubs can be super expensive. But there's like this list
- 39:47Speaker 1: of songs that that we always had, the script supervisors
- 39:50Speaker 1: that always had and we just wanted to sponsaneously had
- 39:52Speaker 1: someone singing something. You can like, look at the free
- 39:56Speaker 1: song list and row row your boat is one of them.
- 39:58Speaker 1: I was looking at some of the others. For a
- 39:59Speaker 1: very long time. Happy Birthday was not public domain and
- 40:03Speaker 1: it was expensive.
- 40:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's a crap ton of money. It
- 40:07Speaker 2: since changed, but that's the reason why Stevie Wonder woke
- 40:10Speaker 2: the song happy Birthday to Your Happy Birthday, to Your
- 40:16Speaker 2: Happy Birthday. That originally it was from Martin Luther King,
- 40:21Speaker 2: and I believe he wanted to just sing the original
- 40:24Speaker 2: Happy Birthday song, but it costs so much money that
- 40:26Speaker 2: Stevie was like, Yo, you know what, I'll create another song,
- 40:29Speaker 2: and he created Happy Birthday to you Happy. I have
- 40:35Speaker 2: no idea if that's true, but I don't know either,
- 40:36Speaker 2: but it sounds true.
- 40:37Speaker 1: Well, listen if you're ever watching TV shows or movies now,
- 40:40Speaker 1: and you'll see a lot of times when they bring
- 40:42Speaker 1: the cake in, they'll avoid singing Happy Birthday. They'll sing
- 40:45Speaker 1: like for he's a jolly good fellow, or they do
- 40:47Speaker 1: something that's so non natural to what most in the
- 40:51Speaker 1: real world. It's because they're avoiding having to pay for
- 40:53Speaker 1: happy Birthday, although that since changed. I think now it's
- 40:56Speaker 1: become public domain. Anyway, you guys can google public domain
- 40:59Speaker 1: songs and learn which ones are.
- 41:00Speaker 2: Okay, so, but check this out. Did you realize that
- 41:03Speaker 2: there are people in the bed in the title sequence?
- 41:06Speaker 2: I can't do this all on my own. They're like,
- 41:11Speaker 2: there are people in the beds, yeah, and you see
- 41:14Speaker 2: their faces. For Scrubs fans out there, I would love
- 41:19Speaker 2: if you were able to find who those people were
- 41:23Speaker 2: in the bed in the title sequence, because they did not.
- 41:26Speaker 2: They had nine years on television and I don't think
- 41:29Speaker 2: anyone's ever asked, who knows people in the bed?
- 41:32Speaker 1: Can you really make out any faces? I'm scrolling through
- 41:34Speaker 1: it slow right now.
- 41:35Speaker 2: You can make out faces? Yes?
- 41:37Speaker 1: Okay, Well, there you go. Donald has a request if
- 41:40Speaker 1: you're in the title sequence in bed slide, if.
- 41:43Speaker 2: You're into Scrubs trivia, I have the ultimate trivia for you.
- 41:48Speaker 2: Who are the patients in the bed in the title sequence?
- 41:53Speaker 1: I have some This is the first episode where we
- 41:55Speaker 1: learned that Cox's name is Perry Nice. There's another episode
- 42:00Speaker 1: all of that's called My Bad Too spelled too.
- 42:04Speaker 2: Like, look who's talking to Yes.
- 42:07Speaker 1: The footage at the end of Jordan's wedding is actually
- 42:10Speaker 1: from Bill and Christa's wedding. Did you know that?
- 42:13Speaker 2: I figured that out? That was pretty easy.
- 42:15Speaker 1: She looks so pretty. Huh.
- 42:16Speaker 2: Also, that's I guess he's not watching it on television.
- 42:19Speaker 2: So is this a fantasy that doctor Cox has early on?
- 42:24Speaker 1: It must be a flashback. That's interesting. That's an interesting point.
- 42:27Speaker 1: Did other people have flashbacks besides JD It looks like
- 42:31Speaker 1: Perry did Perry Perry Cox?
- 42:33Speaker 2: Did?
- 42:34Speaker 1: I like this as a homage to the graduate at
- 42:37Speaker 1: ten minutes in one second when I dropped my pants
- 42:41Speaker 1: and through my legs to see Jordan in her leather
- 42:45Speaker 1: dress a Mark Buckland homage to the graduate Nice, and
- 42:50Speaker 1: I look very skinny when I'm lying on the bed.
- 42:53Speaker 1: I was happy about that.
- 42:54Speaker 2: It's really interesting when you're twenty six years old. When
- 42:57Speaker 2: you're twenty six years.
- 42:57Speaker 1: Old, it's easier to get abs.
- 42:59Speaker 2: Well. Back at I look back at all of this stuff,
- 43:01Speaker 2: I was like, I remember dieting and going to the
- 43:04Speaker 2: gym all the time and trying to you know what
- 43:06Speaker 2: I mean, I'd killed to weigh that much again.
- 43:09Speaker 1: It's so hard to You can work so much harder
- 43:12Speaker 1: to so much less effect in your forties. Yeah yeah,
- 43:18Speaker 1: love handles fucking left and right.
- 43:20Speaker 2: Love handle ship. I eat a cookie, that shit stays
- 43:22Speaker 2: on my ass like like.
- 43:24Speaker 1: A melted candle. I'm trying, though. Do you find when
- 43:28Speaker 1: you're doing scenes and you're in your boxers that there's
- 43:30Speaker 1: a there's a fine line between not wanting to look
- 43:35Speaker 1: like there's nothing going on but also not wanting to
- 43:37Speaker 1: overdo it. You don't have that problem.
- 43:39Speaker 2: I can't have.
- 43:40Speaker 1: And looked at your face. I knew your answer was
- 43:43Speaker 1: going to have that problem.
- 43:44Speaker 2: I've never thought about. Are you talking about fluffing?
- 43:48Speaker 1: You're talking not fluffing. I don't mean to getting any
- 43:50Speaker 1: blood going. I just mean, like, when I was looking
- 43:52Speaker 1: at myself lying in the bend there, I think I
- 43:53Speaker 1: remember being like, okay, well, I don't obviously don't want
- 43:55Speaker 1: any thing to show, but I also don't look like
- 43:58Speaker 1: I'm like a ken doll, So like, is there a
- 44:00Speaker 1: happy medium where I can and what are you looking
- 44:03Speaker 1: at me?
- 44:05Speaker 2: Out?
- 44:06Speaker 1: Joel's cracking up right now? I'm so sad that you're like,
- 44:09Speaker 1: I have no idea, No.
- 44:10Speaker 2: I just want to know what you figured out. What
- 44:11Speaker 2: did you decide to do. I think I gave moment.
- 44:14Speaker 1: I think I gave everything a little ruffle.
- 44:17Speaker 2: I'm done. I'm done. I'm done, I'm done.
- 44:22Speaker 1: Give everything a little On that note, let's cool down.
- 44:29Speaker 1: Let's cool down and take a commercial break.
- 44:31Speaker 2: Let's do it, and we are back. And we're back
- 44:42Speaker 2: with the caller.
- 44:43Speaker 1: Well introduced us to today's college. It looks like there's
- 44:46Speaker 1: two colleges. Joel will give it to.
- 44:50Speaker 2: Susan bought a friend. Susan bought a friend.
- 44:53Speaker 1: It's like a millionaire. You can bring a friend, call
- 44:55Speaker 1: a friend. I have to bring my husband. Sorry, I
- 44:58Speaker 1: love it, damn it. I always get that. I'm so sorry. Hi, guys,
- 45:06Speaker 1: why we've I've been drinking all day. So sorry.
- 45:10Speaker 2: Oh no it Donald, It's so it's fine.
- 45:16Speaker 1: Oh. I love your accent. I'm such a fan of
- 45:18Speaker 1: that accent. Okay, go ahead with the question for the
- 45:22Speaker 1: legendary Donald Faison or me whach ever one?
- 45:25Speaker 2: Yeah, for both of you.
- 45:26Speaker 5: You've mentioned in podcasts two that you didn't get to
- 45:29Speaker 5: steal rowdy or take rowdy.
- 45:31Speaker 1: But what did you take from the sets? You must
- 45:34Speaker 1: have taken something. I got something I can grab for you, Donald,
- 45:37Speaker 1: Did you take anything?
- 45:38Speaker 2: I did, but I don't know where they are anymore.
- 45:40Speaker 2: I did get quite a few scrubs, the green ones,
- 45:44Speaker 2: and I do have some sneakers from the show as well. Yes,
- 45:48Speaker 2: not the bowling shoes. I don't have the bowling shoes
- 45:50Speaker 2: on four.
- 45:51Speaker 1: You see these antlers, These are from the pilot when
- 45:54Speaker 1: I was a deer in headlights.
- 45:56Speaker 2: So these are actually the scrubs.
- 45:58Speaker 1: Donald did his closets. Just reached down to the gallery.
- 46:03Speaker 2: These shoes right here are the actual Scrubs wrap party
- 46:07Speaker 2: shoes that they gave us.
- 46:09Speaker 1: Those are limited edition and you wore them mine or
- 46:11Speaker 1: mine are mint?
- 46:12Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, she's were worn you know.
- 46:14Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't wear your own swag. It's a little lame.
- 46:17Speaker 2: Well, it's fuck you man. First of all, it says
- 46:20Speaker 2: Scrubs in the back, and it's the hundredth episode, and
- 46:24Speaker 2: I did rock them.
- 46:25Speaker 1: I never like when you're an actor on the show,
- 46:27Speaker 1: you can't normally wear like the squat. You look a
- 46:29Speaker 1: little douche you wearing like the scrub sneakers.
- 46:32Speaker 2: Oh, man, I still have pants from Scrubs that I
- 46:35Speaker 2: wore a pair of pants for a real long time,
- 46:38Speaker 2: like most of them. So Susan, to answer your question,
- 46:42Speaker 2: most of the stuff that I got from Scrubs was
- 46:47Speaker 2: wardrobe because it was easy. It's easy to steal wardrobe.
- 46:51Speaker 2: Quiet has kept when you're acting in a project on
- 46:54Speaker 2: the last day, when you know you're never gonna see
- 46:57Speaker 2: anybody again, you can get away with some things if
- 46:59Speaker 2: the wardrobe department is cool with it, and most likely
- 47:03Speaker 2: isn't going to be the stuff that you wore in
- 47:04Speaker 2: the show, but it's stuff that they'll probably have to
- 47:09Speaker 2: return or something like that, and they'll take the hit.
- 47:11Speaker 2: I stole a lot of I didn't steal. Actually I
- 47:14Speaker 2: took and it was allowed to take. I liberated quite
- 47:17Speaker 2: a few outfits of Chris Turk's and most of them
- 47:21Speaker 2: were scrubs.
- 47:22Speaker 1: When you're hanging which you're hanging behind him? Soon? Do
- 47:26Speaker 1: you have another question in my head?
- 47:28Speaker 2: First of all, you guys are so cute.
- 47:29Speaker 1: Oh yes, how's your isolation going over there in Scotland?
- 47:35Speaker 5: This is our fourth week and it's tough, but the
- 47:40Speaker 5: way that's good at the moment.
- 47:41Speaker 1: So that's helpful, right this, Yes, that's happened to us
- 47:45Speaker 1: in Los Angeles as well. It's been raining NonStop and
- 47:48Speaker 1: the sun finally came out, so I think we can.
- 47:50Speaker 1: It's a little bit easier to smile when the when
- 47:52Speaker 1: the sun's oh.
- 47:53Speaker 5: Yeah, just be glad to when it's all over. Yeah,
- 47:56Speaker 5: do you guys ever get drunk? And we love all skates.
- 48:00Speaker 5: She's like the Sanford and songs one because I just
- 48:02Speaker 5: will that's my husband's feed.
- 48:05Speaker 1: Me and my son. Actually this song?
- 48:09Speaker 2: Do you do the song? Donald?
- 48:10Speaker 1: Can you do a little bit for me?
- 48:12Speaker 2: There's there's there's the there's the sanfred in some theme,
- 48:15Speaker 2: and then there's the Turk version when Carla won't when
- 48:18Speaker 2: Carla won't leave him alone?
- 48:20Speaker 1: You remember it?
- 48:21Speaker 2: Quiet down, now it is time to watch the show. Yes,
- 48:25Speaker 2: it started. Don't be licking me, no mold, matter of fact.
- 48:30Speaker 2: Can I get a handy? Why? And then we come
- 48:42Speaker 2: back from break after we sang it just you do
- 48:46Speaker 2: like Sanfredan sona bran up?
- 48:56Speaker 1: Fine?
- 48:57Speaker 5: Fine?
- 49:00Speaker 2: And you even did Elizabeth I'm coming Elizabeth. Yeah.
- 49:06Speaker 1: He used to die in almost every episode like this.
- 49:12Speaker 1: It's not a program where you had over here at all.
- 49:14Speaker 1: So we had to google the obviously the credits to
- 49:18Speaker 1: find out what the original Oh really, really, I think
- 49:21Speaker 1: I know what you guys are doing tonight. You're gonna
- 49:23Speaker 1: go on YouTube or wherever and start watching some Sanford and.
- 49:26Speaker 2: Son Samford and Son marathon. Sounds great right now?
- 49:29Speaker 1: Actually, nothing else to do, I suppose.
- 49:32Speaker 2: Yeah, it's listen if you want to laugh a nothing
- 49:36Speaker 2: like Red Fox going at it. Oh my gosh, he's
- 49:39Speaker 2: one of the I mean Red Foxes. He was before
- 49:44Speaker 2: Richard Pryor, before Eddie Murphy. It was red you know
- 49:47Speaker 2: what I mean.
- 49:47Speaker 1: So it really is the theme of this podcast episode
- 49:50Speaker 1: of eighty eighty sitcoms.
- 49:53Speaker 2: Yeah, well that's a seventy sitcom.
- 49:54Speaker 1: I think I'm really proud of us that we we
- 49:57Speaker 1: we developed a theme for this one. Absolutely all right, guys, Well,
- 50:01Speaker 1: thank you for calling in all the way from Scotland,
- 50:03Speaker 1: and keep drinking and.
- 50:04Speaker 2: Stay safe, stay healthy.
- 50:07Speaker 1: If we want you, we want you to get drunk
- 50:09Speaker 1: and watch sanfrand something, you'll thank us. Oh man, I
- 50:16Speaker 1: couldn't get the Irish Scottish thing, right, That's that's what
- 50:18Speaker 1: you never do. You're going to get so much ship
- 50:20Speaker 1: for that. I'm so upset you never do d to
- 50:23Speaker 1: all my people of Ireland and Scotland. I'm sorry. One
- 50:26Speaker 1: day I planned to get it right.
- 50:29Speaker 2: You took a picture, Susan. Susan took a picture.
- 50:33Speaker 1: Trying to sneak out the door by taking a figures.
- 50:35Speaker 2: Don't worry about it.
- 50:36Speaker 1: I would have fixed my hair, Susan.
- 50:38Speaker 2: I don't worry about it.
- 50:38Speaker 1: I did not put any product.
- 50:42Speaker 2: No, it didn't. We just heard it. We just heard it.
- 50:44Speaker 2: But it's all right.
- 50:44Speaker 1: Don't worry about Susan.
- 50:45Speaker 2: You could post it on Instagram or Facebook or whatever
- 50:48Speaker 2: it is that you have. Just be like, look what
- 50:53Speaker 2: show we were on. We love the press, Thank you
- 50:56Speaker 2: very much. Later, I love having couples. They were like adorable,
- 51:04Speaker 2: they were so cute.
- 51:05Speaker 1: I want to be friends with them.
- 51:06Speaker 2: He totally jacked it. She was like, I'm gonna be
- 51:08Speaker 2: I got in, I got it, I got it.
- 51:10Speaker 1: And he was like, you're sitting there in Scotland and quarantine.
- 51:12Speaker 1: He's not gonna be like, oh, I'll go in the
- 51:13Speaker 1: other room. He's like, yeah, let me on that fucking
- 51:15Speaker 1: zoom call.
- 51:16Speaker 2: Yeah, you know. He was like, you know, you know,
- 51:21Speaker 2: you know what we're doing at one you know what
- 51:22Speaker 2: we're doing it.
- 51:23Speaker 1: One, not at one. What time is it there?
- 51:25Speaker 2: It's I don't know, it's like eight hour difference.
- 51:27Speaker 1: It's eight hours, right o'clock.
- 51:30Speaker 2: You know we're doing a ten. You know we're doing
- 51:32Speaker 2: a ten.
- 51:33Speaker 1: I'm on name. It was a surprise. Maybe she didn't
- 51:35Speaker 1: tell them. She's like, we're gonna zoom some old friends.
- 51:38Speaker 2: He was the cob. That was the Calmus reaction.
- 51:40Speaker 1: Yeah, well they were. She said, they've been drinking all day.
- 51:43Speaker 1: That's true, Like you are you drinking orange juice? That's
- 51:47Speaker 1: a fucking mimosa. It's gotta be.
- 51:49Speaker 2: This is orange juice.
- 51:51Speaker 1: Is there any screw in that driver?
- 51:53Speaker 2: There is no screw, but there is taki.
- 51:57Speaker 1: Motherfucker. I knew what's that called orange juice?
- 51:59Speaker 2: To keep tequila? Sunrise? Right?
- 52:01Speaker 1: The sunrise?
- 52:03Speaker 2: Okay.
- 52:05Speaker 1: I think it's such a fucked up thing at sixteen
- 52:07Speaker 1: forty three to say someone to someone, I don't dislike you.
- 52:10Speaker 1: I nothing you.
- 52:11Speaker 2: Yeah, And that's a that's an actual Krista Miller is saying, yes.
- 52:16Speaker 1: I have no feelings for you. Know, you don't understand you.
- 52:19Speaker 1: So little affect me that I don't even have energy.
- 52:22Speaker 1: I don't right, I don't even I don't even have
- 52:24Speaker 1: feelings of not liking you.
- 52:25Speaker 2: I just I just don't think of nothing you.
- 52:27Speaker 1: I don't even think about you.
- 52:28Speaker 2: I remember, I remember Chrystal telling me, she's like, you,
- 52:31Speaker 2: if you ever want to hurt someone, she she oh,
- 52:35Speaker 2: she handed out.
- 52:35Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 52:36Speaker 2: She was like, this is how you do it. She
- 52:38Speaker 2: was like, I've always thought this was the funniest way
- 52:40Speaker 2: to do it. I don't dislike you. I nothing you
- 52:43Speaker 2: I nothing.
- 52:44Speaker 1: You don't you know, we don't advise you being that
- 52:48Speaker 1: mean to anyone in your life. You're that's covid well
- 52:51Speaker 1: Doctor's Real Friends podcast.
- 52:52Speaker 2: But it's the television show. It's a great joke.
- 52:54Speaker 1: No, I'm just saying something to say to someone. Yeah,
- 52:57Speaker 1: I remember we had a whole riff on like what's
- 52:59Speaker 1: the worst thing that someone could ever say to you?
- 53:01Speaker 1: And it was like, would you just please leaves? Oh
- 53:10Speaker 1: my gosh, we like we like zoned in on, like
- 53:13Speaker 1: what's the like if someone just looks at you and
- 53:15Speaker 1: just says, but you just please leave? That was the
- 53:19Speaker 1: most hurtful.
- 53:20Speaker 2: The horrible. Sean Hayes has a good one too, where
- 53:23Speaker 2: you know where you're talking to someone and you don't
- 53:27Speaker 2: want to talk to someone who's approaching, and they approach
- 53:32Speaker 2: and you turn to them and go, you're gonna have
- 53:34Speaker 2: to give me a second, and you turn back to
- 53:35Speaker 2: the person you were talking to.
- 53:37Speaker 1: Yeah, he had a lot of funny ones where you
- 53:39Speaker 1: go someone interrupted you, I'm sorry, I'm not used to
- 53:41Speaker 1: being interrupted.
- 53:46Speaker 2: I thought that was you, dude. You stole that one.
- 53:48Speaker 1: Oh, I stole that from Shawn Hayes. That's going up,
- 53:51Speaker 1: He's coming up in an episode.
- 53:52Speaker 2: I can't wait.
- 53:53Speaker 1: Is that that was season one? Right?
- 53:55Speaker 2: It definitely was season one because it happened.
- 53:57Speaker 1: The same oh, September eleventh.
- 53:58Speaker 2: September eleventh. Yep.
- 54:00Speaker 1: The song that ends the show is a Good Life
- 54:02Speaker 1: by Holy con Yes.
- 54:04Speaker 2: Can I say something please? I've been bumping Good Life
- 54:08Speaker 2: in my car for the past and on my iPad
- 54:11Speaker 2: or iPhone, whatever it is, my whatever, wherever it is.
- 54:15Speaker 2: You listen to your music. Wherever it is, usten to
- 54:18Speaker 2: your music. I have been bumping Good Life for about
- 54:22Speaker 2: two years now, and I thought I found some deep
- 54:25Speaker 2: cut on a not the best of playlist, but you know,
- 54:28Speaker 2: like the you know how they have the eighties now
- 54:30Speaker 2: music and they have like the love song from the
- 54:34Speaker 2: eighties or love songs from the Coast or whatever it is,
- 54:38Speaker 2: you know what I mean. I thought I found a
- 54:39Speaker 2: deep cut and it was good life, and then when
- 54:42Speaker 2: it came on today, I was like, this is where
- 54:44Speaker 2: I know the song from.
- 54:45Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a great song, and like like like you,
- 54:48Speaker 1: I think a lot of people found some good tunes
- 54:50Speaker 1: on scrubs. And just a reminder for those of you
- 54:53Speaker 1: who don't know, on streaming platforms always have all the
- 54:57Speaker 1: same songs that we reference on this podcast because of
- 55:00Speaker 1: licensing deals. And these were all contracts that were signed
- 55:03Speaker 1: before streaming existed, So it's really only on if you
- 55:07Speaker 1: buy it iTunes or the DVDs. I'll tell you about it.
- 55:11Speaker 1: We don't care, but I'm just saying that some of
- 55:12Speaker 1: the music might be different, so you might be listening
- 55:15Speaker 1: to something that's not Francis dunnering if you're streaming it
- 55:18Speaker 1: because some of the songs didn't have contracts that lasted
- 55:21Speaker 1: until twenty twenty.
- 55:22Speaker 2: Well, this was on Hulu that I heard this, So so.
- 55:26Speaker 1: That's the episode that was That was what else we
- 55:28Speaker 1: gotta say.
- 55:29Speaker 2: I'm trying to think. I'm trying to think if I
- 55:30Speaker 2: had anything else, how many times have they used the
- 55:33Speaker 2: inside the mouth shot to somebody saying say now say
- 55:37Speaker 2: ah no is That was.
- 55:38Speaker 1: Definitely one of the Mark Buckler the trick shots. There's
- 55:40Speaker 1: also a close up shot of Jordan with the mirror.
- 55:42Speaker 1: There's also the sidewage shot of Sarah from the from
- 55:45Speaker 1: the Psychologists, a lot of cookie fun.
- 55:49Speaker 2: Mark. I thought that was really cool. I think like
- 55:50Speaker 2: the only time that I'd ever seen that was like
- 55:52Speaker 2: Little Shapahara is when Steve Martin is looking in the
- 55:55Speaker 2: person's mouth, He's like say ah, like ah.
- 56:00Speaker 1: Up this episode, you wanted to go back to the
- 56:02Speaker 1: very first.
- 56:02Speaker 2: Shot, the very first shot of the episode.
- 56:06Speaker 1: Start at the very beginning.
- 56:08Speaker 2: You love that reference.
- 56:09Speaker 3: I love you.
- 56:10Speaker 2: I love you too, man. I miss you, man, I
- 56:12Speaker 2: really do you know? I I dream and hope that
- 56:17Speaker 2: this will all be over soon, you know. And we
- 56:20Speaker 2: can sit in the.
- 56:21Speaker 1: Studio to do this, sitting across from each other.
- 56:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 56:25Speaker 1: And we could offer each other snacks.
- 56:27Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe drink a Coca cola together.
- 56:29Speaker 1: You could offer me a tequila sunrise or although I'm
- 56:33Speaker 1: not day drinking yet today, I probably will in a
- 56:36Speaker 1: bit because the sun's out. It might be time for
- 56:37Speaker 1: an ice cold beverage.
- 56:39Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, they say that during this pandemic quarantine,
- 56:45Speaker 2: a lot of people are playing video games, drinking, smoking
- 56:48Speaker 2: a lot of weed, and eating.
- 56:51Speaker 1: I love that marijuana in the at least Los Angeles
- 56:55Speaker 1: has been considered an essential service. Of course, I respect
- 56:59Speaker 1: that some people do for medicine and it is required
- 57:03Speaker 1: to help them. For Donald and I, who don't always
- 57:06Speaker 1: use it for medical purposes, we occasionally find ourselves using
- 57:10Speaker 1: it for recreational services. I do appreciate that the weed
- 57:14Speaker 1: stores are all open.
- 57:17Speaker 2: You know. It definitely calms the spirit.
- 57:19Speaker 1: Yeah, you know what, when you need to take a
- 57:21Speaker 1: little bit of anxiety edge off.
- 57:24Speaker 2: We're not endorsing it, but if anybody out there has
- 57:26Speaker 2: a weed company and wants to sponsor our show, we'd
- 57:32Speaker 2: be more than happy to first try your product. Right
- 57:40Speaker 2: drug deals gone down on Zoom.
- 57:42Speaker 1: I don't know if there's any I don't know if
- 57:44Speaker 1: there's any weed distributors advertising on podcasts, but we'll soon
- 57:49Speaker 1: find out, won't we do? This is three two seven, dude?
- 57:53Speaker 2: Enough enough?
- 57:54Speaker 1: Okay? Sorry, Hey fans, we love you. If you're a
- 57:58Speaker 1: health worker on the front walk, thank you so much
- 58:01Speaker 1: for everything you're doing and for your courage whether you're
- 58:04Speaker 1: a nurse or a doctor, or a janitor or a medic,
- 58:06Speaker 1: or a cop or a fireman, we are grateful to
- 58:09Speaker 1: you for being so brave during this time.
- 58:12Speaker 2: Yes, we are absolutely very grateful to all of the
- 58:15Speaker 2: people that work in the grocery stores and put themselves
- 58:19Speaker 2: in the viruses way by putting out food and helping
- 58:23Speaker 2: people at the grocery stores. Or we thank you as well.
- 58:27Speaker 2: You you guys are all heroes to us, and thank you.
- 58:31Speaker 2: Thank you so so so so much for your service.
- 58:34Speaker 1: Yes, thank you so much. And to the brave souls
- 58:36Speaker 1: manning all the pot shops in Los Angeles, thank you.
- 58:40Speaker 1: Donald count five six stories about you. We made about
- 58:47Speaker 1: a bunch of docs and nurses said.
- 58:51Speaker 2: Here's a story.
- 58:56Speaker 1: So ya around you here
- 59:00Speaker 2: Do here office scutch, We watch o miss and get down.
