- 0:00Speaker 1: He is a person that hates black people, hates Jewish people,
- 0:06Speaker 1: and I think probably hates all people. And he's not,
- 0:09Speaker 1: in my opinion, if he went to Michigan, if he won,
- 0:12Speaker 1: that would be a devastating blow for our country.
- 0:15Speaker 2: You're listening to the 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.

- 0:39Speaker 4: We have it all for you.
- 0:41Speaker 3: Now, before we get to that, I do want to

- 2:18Speaker 4: It's the 47 Morning Update, and it starts right now.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Story number one.
- 2:23Speaker 3: Welcome back. It is the Ben Ferguson Show. It is
- 2:26Speaker 3: nice to have you with us. Less than 48 hours away,
- 2:30Speaker 3: depending on when you listen to this, it is the
- 2:32Speaker 3: beginning of Election Day. President Donald Trump is making his
- 2:36Speaker 3: final arguments to the American people, to the voters, about
- 2:39Speaker 3: what is actually at stake in this extremely important election. Well,
- 2:43Speaker 3: Sunday morning, there was an extraordinary political development out of
- 2:48Speaker 3: Michigan that is sending shockwaves specifically through the Democratic Party.
- 2:54Speaker 3: You had a sitting Democratic member of Congress has done
- 2:58Speaker 3: something that was almost unthinkable in the final hours of
- 3:02Speaker 3: a critical United States Senate election. Congresswoman Haley Stevens, a
- 3:07Speaker 3: Democrat from Michigan, said, publicly endorsed the Republican Mike Rogers
- 3:12Speaker 3: over her own party's nominee, El-Said. Yeah, all of what
- 3:16Speaker 3: I just told you is confirmed.
- 3:18Speaker 4: Yes, it's real.
- 3:19Speaker 3: No, this isn't some like Halloween costume mix-up. A Democratic
- 3:23Speaker 3: congresswoman endorsing a Trump-backed Republican for the United States Senate
- 3:27Speaker 3: in Michigan. Yeah, that is extraordinary in so many different ways. Now,
- 3:33Speaker 3: she's the woman who ran against El-Sayed in the Democratic
- 3:36Speaker 3: Senate primary.
- 3:37Speaker 4: You may not remember that.
- 3:39Speaker 3: She is a prominent Michigan Democrat who has represented the
- 3:42Speaker 3: state in Congress for years. And now in the final
- 3:46Speaker 3: hours before the votes happen on Tuesday and early voting,
- 3:50Speaker 3: as you know, has already happened. And the polls, by
- 3:53Speaker 3: the way, show El-Sayed has a lead. So that's another
- 3:55Speaker 3: part of the story. She decided not. I got to
- 3:59Speaker 3: get involved in a way that no one thought I would.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Breaking with her own party's nominee. Now, what makes this
- 4:06Speaker 3: story even more extraordinary is why she says she's doing it.
- 4:10Speaker 4: So let's talk about that in a moment.
- 4:13Speaker 3: But before we get to that, the president of the
- 4:15Speaker 3: United States of America is also making his closing argument
- 4:18Speaker 3: to the American people. He was attending a Halloween party
- 4:22Speaker 3: at Mar-a-Lago, and he said this on camera about El Saeed.
- 4:26Speaker 5: On the fissure in the Democratic Party between Abdul El-Sayed
- 4:30Speaker 5: and Hailey Stevens.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Well, they're really fighting. Nobody wants Abdul. And Stevens is
- 4:38Speaker 1: in there fighting. You gotta give her credit. She tried
- 4:42Speaker 1: to do it, but she can't. You can't live with him.
- 4:44Speaker 5: He's a jihadist.
- 4:45Speaker 4: You can't live with him.
- 4:47Speaker 1: She tried. She's a Democrat, a good, solid, pretty Democrat,
- 4:51Speaker 1: I think. And I'd say reasonably solid. She was supposed
- 4:56Speaker 1: to get wiped out and she almost won. He wanted
- 4:59Speaker 1: to get her support, he got her support. They spent
- 5:02Speaker 1: a day together and she realized he's an absolute chican. Look,
- 5:08Speaker 1: he is a person that hates black people, hates Jewish people,
- 5:14Speaker 1: and I think probably hates all people.
- 5:18Speaker 4: In my opinion, if he.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Went to Michigan, if he won, that would be a
- 5:21Speaker 1: devastating blow for our country. Our country's never done better.
- 5:26Speaker 1: He's a jihadist, and he's a guy that, frankly, should
- 5:30Speaker 1: not be in the Senate.
- 5:33Speaker 3: He's a jihadist and someone, frankly, that should not be
- 5:36Speaker 3: in the Senate. Now, the president wasn't done there. He
- 5:39Speaker 3: was also asked before he got on to Air Force
- 5:42Speaker 3: One heading down to Florida about El Saeed. And this
- 5:46Speaker 3: is what the president said as well to reporters.
- 5:49Speaker 1: We just had some big news that came over the
- 5:52Speaker 1: sets and just announced about Haley Stevens endorsing Mike Rogers.
- 5:58Speaker 1: That was a big move, I think, as nobody expected that.
- 6:02Speaker 1: But It's a smart thing to do because else I
- 6:05Speaker 1: would destroy our country. So I thought that was fantastic.
- 6:10Speaker 3: He thought that that was fantastic. Now, let's talk about
- 6:13Speaker 3: the president for just a moment. He has spent much
- 6:16Speaker 3: of October traveling across America like he's on the ballot.
- 6:20Speaker 3: He's been campaigning for Republican candidates and trying to energize
- 6:23Speaker 3: voters ahead of Tuesday's midterm election. Now, according to Reuters,
- 6:27Speaker 3: the president held 25 rallies across 19 states during October. Now,
- 6:32Speaker 3: if you think about that, 25 rallies, 19 states. And remember,
- 6:35Speaker 3: Donald Trump himself is not on the ballot. This is
- 6:39Speaker 3: a midterm elections. This is something no president has ever
- 6:41Speaker 3: done before. But the president understands what's at stake. It's
- 6:46Speaker 3: control of Congress. And it is defining moment for his presidency,
- 6:50Speaker 3: certainly his second term agenda. And the message emerging from
- 6:54Speaker 3: these rallies is becoming increasingly clear. Donald Trump is arguing
- 6:59Speaker 3: that Americans face a fundamental choice about the direction of
- 7:04Speaker 3: the country. Now, Trump wants voters to judge Republicans on
- 7:07Speaker 3: their economic agenda, their immigration policies, their approach to crime
- 7:13Speaker 3: and their efforts to advance the priorities that he campaigned on,
- 7:17Speaker 3: including securing the border. And he's also warning about what
- 7:20Speaker 3: would happen if his agenda, America First agenda. is destroyed
- 7:25Speaker 3: because Democrats take control of Congress. Now, Republicans argue that
- 7:29Speaker 3: a Democratic majority would obstruct the administration's priorities and launch
- 7:33Speaker 3: aggressive investigations.
- 7:35Speaker 4: Why do we say that?
- 7:35Speaker 3: Because that's exactly what Democrats have said they're going to do. Now, Democrats, meanwhile,
- 7:41Speaker 3: they're making their own closing arguments, and they're very different.
- 7:44Speaker 3: They're obviously running on the one issue that they believe
- 7:47Speaker 3: is going to help them, high prices at the pump.
- 7:50Speaker 3: They're then saying that is translating into the cost of living.
- 7:53Speaker 3: And they're saying that's all Donald Trump's fault, all the Republicans'
- 7:56Speaker 3: fault because of the war with Iran. Of course, they're
- 7:59Speaker 3: admitting the fact that Iran was close to getting nuclear
- 8:02Speaker 3: weapons and that's a threat to us and the rest
- 8:03Speaker 3: of the world. And if you think prices are high now,
- 8:06Speaker 3: imagine what prices look like if Iran was able to
- 8:08Speaker 3: use one of those nuclear weapons. It was a national
- 8:11Speaker 3: security issue. And the voters have to decide. If that
- 8:14Speaker 3: was worth it, I obviously believe that it absolutely was
- 8:17Speaker 3: worth it for the president to protect America and, by
- 8:20Speaker 3: the way, many other parts of the world, including our
- 8:22Speaker 3: ally in Israel. But Democrats are hoping that you have
- 8:25Speaker 3: a very short-term memory, that you won't remember that the
- 8:28Speaker 3: gas prices now that they're describing as high are normal
- 8:33Speaker 3: while they're in office. Now, recent polling has shown that
- 8:36Speaker 3: Democrats are leading Republicans nationally. while several Senate races remain
- 8:41Speaker 3: intensely competitive. And that's why the president has been campaigning,
- 8:46Speaker 3: not only in traditional battleground states, but also in places
- 8:49Speaker 3: Republicans would extraordinarily, or based on history, would win comfortably. Kansas, Iowa,
- 8:57Speaker 3: South Carolina, Texas, and Mississippi. The campaign map itself tells
- 9:01Speaker 3: you something is important. Republicans are fighting to protect their
- 9:06Speaker 3: congressional majorities, and they're very narrow. And Democrats, let's be clear,
- 9:10Speaker 3: they haven't tried to hide any of this agenda. They
- 9:13Speaker 3: have said, vote for us. We weaponize the government, period,
- 9:16Speaker 3: full stop. By the way, they haven't told you how
- 9:18Speaker 3: they're going to lower gas prices, except they say they'll
- 9:21Speaker 3: let Iran, you know, probably get closer to nuclear weapon
- 9:23Speaker 3: and then see what happens to gas prices then. But
- 9:25Speaker 3: they love high gas prices. And that is their whole campaign.
- 9:28Speaker 3: That's what it all goes back to. Now, a divided
- 9:32Speaker 3: Congress would dramatically change the final two years of President
- 9:36Speaker 3: Trump's presidency, his agenda. Everyone knows that. That is why
- 9:41Speaker 3: the president is going around the country. That is his
- 9:44Speaker 3: closing argument. Then you go back to this extraordinary moment
- 9:48Speaker 3: that just happened in Michigan. You have this Democratic congresswoman,
- 9:52Speaker 3: Haley Stevens, appears alongside the Republican Senate candidate Mike Rogers
- 9:57Speaker 3: at a church in Detroit. Now, this was not a
- 10:02Speaker 3: routine bipartisan appearance. This was not simply two politicians attending
- 10:06Speaker 3: the same church service. Stevens went on to announce that
- 10:09Speaker 3: she was endorsing Rogers for the Senate, the Republican, the
- 10:13Speaker 3: candidate endorsed by Donald Trump. And the man running against
- 10:16Speaker 3: the Democratic nominee who defeated Stevens in August, many say,
- 10:20Speaker 3: In a shocking defeat, she's now saying he cannot be trusted, saying, quote,
- 10:26Speaker 3: Our Democratic nominee for Senate said I was no longer
- 10:30Speaker 3: welcome in his campaign and that I should stay away.
- 10:33Speaker 3: And then came the words that stunned Michigan Democrats.
- 10:37Speaker 4: And he's right.
- 10:38Speaker 3: And that's why I'm endorsing Mike Rogers for the United
- 10:40Speaker 3: States Senate today. Now, imagine being a Democratic Senate candidate
- 10:45Speaker 3: less than 48 hours from Election Day. And watching one
- 10:48Speaker 3: of your own party's members of Congress endorse your Republican opponent.
- 10:53Speaker 3: That is what El-Said is dealing with. And this didn't
- 10:56Speaker 3: happen out of nowhere. There's been a bitter dispute inside
- 10:59Speaker 3: Michigan's Democratic Party for months. Stevens and El-Said fought a
- 11:03Speaker 3: contentious primary. El-Said won with a massive amount of support
- 11:08Speaker 3: from the Muslim community. Stevens initially pledged to support the
- 11:12Speaker 3: Democratic ticket. The relationship, well, it never fully recovered. And
- 11:16Speaker 3: in recent days, the disagreements became increasingly public.
- 11:20Speaker 4: One of the biggest.
- 11:21Speaker 3: Disagreements was the fight over Israel, which now has turned
- 11:24Speaker 3: into a nationwide issue. One of those issues dividing these
- 11:28Speaker 3: two was the fact that she was so shocked at
- 11:30Speaker 3: how El-Said hates on Jews, on Israel. And to be clear,
- 11:35Speaker 3: the Democrat Stevens has been a strong supporter of Israel.
- 11:38Speaker 3: Abdul El-Sayed has been a vocal critic of the American
- 11:42Speaker 3: support for Israel and of Israeli government policies.
- 11:46Speaker 4: Now, what really.
- 11:47Speaker 3: Seemed to change Stevens the most is the fact that
- 11:49Speaker 3: she was not satisfied, embarrassed about the broader political environment
- 11:54Speaker 3: surrounding El-Sayed's campaign. She raised real concerns about his association
- 11:59Speaker 3: with the online liberal commentator Hassan Piker. You know, the
- 12:04Speaker 3: same guy that said America deserved 9-11. Piker also has
- 12:08Speaker 3: no problem with the Jews being wiped off the face
- 12:11Speaker 3: of the earth. And Piker has drawn criticism over his
- 12:13Speaker 3: statements about Israel and many other political issues. El-Sayed has
- 12:18Speaker 3: faced questions about those associations as the Michigan race has
- 12:22Speaker 3: become increasingly contentious. And El-Sayed also has direct ties to
- 12:26Speaker 3: the Muslim Brotherhood. That's a terrorist organization. And ties to
- 12:31Speaker 3: other radical groups like CARE. Now, just days ago, Stevens
- 12:34Speaker 3: was still publicly reaffirming her support for the Democratic nominee.
- 12:38Speaker 3: But on Sunday morning, she was sitting in a Detroit
- 12:42Speaker 3: church alongside Mike Rogers. And shortly after, she had endorsed him.
- 12:47Speaker 3: That is a massive, dramatic reversal from where we were.
- 12:53Speaker 3: The question becomes, is this too little too late? Or
- 12:57Speaker 3: could this have a big impact on Election Day? If
- 13:01Speaker 3: you're a Democrat or an undecided and you like Stevens
- 13:04Speaker 3: and you see what Stevens has just said, are you
- 13:08Speaker 3: going to change your vote? There'll probably be no polling
- 13:11Speaker 3: on this before people go to vote on Tuesday. But
- 13:15Speaker 3: there is a good chance that this could completely alter,
- 13:18Speaker 3: completely change. The outcome of this election, more than anything
- 13:23Speaker 3: else in the final moments, we'll obviously have to wait
- 13:26Speaker 3: and see.
- 13:27Speaker 4: Quick break. It's the Ben Ferguson Show. A lot more
