- 0:00Hi guys, and welcome back to another episode of the Hawkgirl Energy Podcast.
- 0:18I'm your host, Kayleie, and this is your weekly reminder that it's a
- 0:21new day, a new week, a new mindset, and another day for
- 0:24you to become the hawk Girl energy you want to attract. Hello you guys,
- 0:29Happy Tuesday, Welcome back to another episode. I honestly I have to
- 0:35tell you something really funny, so before we even get into this episode,
- 0:39it is related to the episode as well, which is kind of funny.
- 0:42So, as you can see by the title, we're going to talk about
- 0:45all the things that are all about maintaining our health, our physical appearance,
- 0:52all that good stuff. I have recorded an episode like this in the past
- 0:55about how to become I think it was like the low maintenance, high maintenance
- 1:00kind of episode, and this one is going to be kind of similar.
- 1:04But I'm going to be talking about things that I didn't talk about last time,
- 1:07which is more like things that we can do for our health that we
- 1:11can maintain doing through a yearly basis, monthly basis, daily basis all that.
- 1:17So that's what the episode's going to be about. But what I wanted
- 1:21to say that was funny is that I'm literally sitting here in my bedroom trying
- 1:26the overnight blowout with socks that I saw on TikTok. Please tell me you
- 1:32guys have heard of that trend. I literally look like a fool right now.
- 1:36Zach hasn't even came home. He's literally gonna come home and be like,
- 1:38what the hell did you do to your hair? I'm pretty sure I
- 1:41didn't even do it right, but I filmed it for TikTok and we'll see
- 1:48if it looks good in the morning. If it looks good, I'll post
- 1:51it on TikTok. If it looks like crap, I clearly did something wrong,
- 1:53and we'll try and do it again and try it. Yeah, try
- 1:59to film it again as well. But anyways, I just thought that was
- 2:00funny. I wish you guys can see my current state right now, because
- 2:02I literally look like, yeah, a crazy person. I also don't know
- 2:07how this is comfortable to sleep in, Like if you guys do this all
- 2:09the time, like, good for you, But it just shows that I'm
- 2:13trying to be a maintenance s garly by doing my overnight blowout, and yeah,
- 2:17I look like a fool right now. So Anyways, I just I
- 2:21just thought that was kind of fitting for the episode that I'm literally sitting here
- 2:24in socks in my hair, and it's just really funny to me. But
- 2:29anyways, I hope you guys had a great week last week, and I
- 2:31hope you're having a good week this week so far. Can we talk about
- 2:36how it's literally the end of August, Like I have no words, I
- 2:40literally have no words. I am so excited for September just because I have
- 2:46a lot of exciting things happening, like my engagement party. Anyways, I'm
- 2:51so excited for that. I hope you guys can feel my energy through the
- 2:53mic right now about that. But I feel like I definitely haven't made like
- 2:59work in social media a big priority because behind the scenes, I have been
- 3:05working like a dog talking to vendors, making sure everything is good for our
- 3:09engagement party. And there's just like a lot of like little details that you
- 3:14like honestly don't think about, like wood poster holders like which or signage holders
- 3:20story like that is the smallest little detail that no one would really think about.
- 3:23But I need that. I needed, you know, cocktail stir sticks
- 3:28ended up getting like cute custom ones from Etsy, and if you guys have
- 3:30ordered from Etsy in the past, you need to order like a month in
- 3:34advance because obviously it's customized stuff usually, So anyway, it's just like those
- 3:38little little things that you don't think about. And I'm like, okay,
- 3:42I need to get on top of this because we are literally less than thirty
- 3:47days I think it's like twenty seven days to the engagement party. I just
- 3:52ordered my engagement party draws. I ordered two of them, so I'll probably
- 3:57show the two on TikTok once they come in and I'll get your opinion on
- 4:00it. But yeah, that's just kind of been what's going on in my
- 4:03life right now is just literally engagement, engagement, engagement, wedding planning,
- 4:10all that. But if you guys don't follow me on Instagram, I did
- 4:13give a bit of an update on the wedding as well, and we,
- 4:17oh my god, I can't evenlieve I'm saying this. We are finally about
- 4:21to book our flights to this destination, which is so crazy to me.
- 4:26We finally confirmed last week with our planner, like we finally finalize like eight
- 4:30venues that we want to go see. So they're in two different areas.
- 4:35I'm not going to share the location yet, just because I want to keep
- 4:38it a surprise for you guys, because I think it's going to be so
- 4:41exciting. I feel like some of you guys have already guessed it. But
- 4:45yeah, I'm very excited about that. And yeah, our planner finally kind
- 4:48of gave us the clear in terms of like, Okay, this is the
- 4:53week that you guys can come. This is the week we're going to start
- 4:55booking like venue like visits and all that she wanted us to go this week
- 5:01and told us that last week, like she wanted Zach and I to jump
- 5:04on a plane and come like literally on Thursday this week, and I'm like,
- 5:10WHOA, hold up, I don't have hotels, I don't have flights,
- 5:14Like everything was just way too expensive obviously super last minute. So I'm
- 5:17like, I need a little bit more time to plan this out. Like
- 5:23I'm all about a last minute trip, but because of our engagement party,
- 5:26I have been like very yeah, kind of picky on that because I don't
- 5:30want to leave and then there'll be issues with like the vendors or anything like
- 5:33that. Because I'm planning it all myself. I don't have a planner for
- 5:35the engagement party. So even Zach ergreed, he was like, you know,
- 5:39it's also way too last minute for him for work to just like yeah,
- 5:43peace out, Like I'm gonna go leave to go look at wedding venues
- 5:46for the next week in a bit. So anyways, so I just like
- 5:49didn't really work out. So we have proposed a week after the engagement party,
- 5:58so literally two days after the engagement party, we would fly out.
- 6:00So we were just crossing our fingers that we can get all the venues toured
- 6:05by that week. That way, we can just get that over with and
- 6:09hopefully have a venue secured by the end of September. That is the goal.
- 6:14So that is my updates for engagement and wedding stuff and just like overall
- 6:18what I've been doing. I feel like these past few weeks. I also
- 6:23didn't mention this in the last episode, but I went to go see the
- 6:26Barbie movie. Did you guys see it? I thought it was so good.
- 6:30My mom didn't like it or my sister, but I thought it was
- 6:32so cute. I think maybe I overhyped it a bit. I mean,
- 6:34I feel like everybody overhyped it. But I did think it was a really
- 6:38cute movie. Like I did really enjoy it and I would watch it again.
- 6:41I thought the storyline was super cute. But yeah, some people might
- 6:46say it was a little overhyped, but you know what, it was cute.
- 6:47I do think Barbie is taking over social media and all that, which
- 6:50is so crazy to me, Like just seeing like stuff related to like Barbie
- 6:55homes and like Barbie morning routines and like a it's just of you know,
- 7:00Barbie stuff. Like I just feel like it's been everywhere, which is so
- 7:02crazy. It just blows my mind how this movie is like taken over like
- 7:08our world, I feel like. But yeah, I did see it.
- 7:11It was really good. I watched the final episode of the summer I turned
- 7:15Pretty, and I have no words. Are you guys team Conrad or Jeremiah?
- 7:20I mentioned this in the last episode. I don't really know what team
- 7:24I'm on, but I'm not gonna give any spoilers, I promise, But
- 7:28I don't know how they're going to drag it onto season three. That's all
- 7:30I have to say. But I really enjoyed watching that season, but I
- 7:35just don't know what side to pick. I think I like the bad boy
- 7:40of Conrad. But I also love like seeing Jeremiah with Belly. I think
- 7:46they're just like such a cute like little friendship, and I don't know,
- 7:49they make my heart happy. So I don't know, but yes, that
- 7:55is something I want to update you guys on that I finished the last episode
- 7:59and I have no words. That's what all. That's all I have to
- 8:01say about that. And last little update because I mentioned it in not I
- 8:07don't know if I mentioned the last episode or this episode before that. I
- 8:11forget. Actually no, I think it was the last episode. I have
- 8:13been wanting to become a reader, and your girl bought her first book and
- 8:22I've already read three chapters. I'm so proud of myself, like very much
- 8:28into the book. If you guys don't know the book. If I'm pulling
- 8:33away from my mic and you hear the audio being weird, it's because I'm
- 8:35going to grab the book because I forget what it's called. I haven't read
- 8:39it in two days, so I've only read it for one night. I
- 8:43took like thirty minutes and I read like three chapters and maybe not even thirty
- 8:48minutes, like twenty minutes and it's called Meet Me at the Lake and Soper.
- 8:54It's really good. I kind of like how it's based in Toronto because
- 8:58it kind of feels like it's more relatable for me being so close to there.
- 9:03But yeah, it's good so far. I'm not going to give any
- 9:05details about that, but I know some of you messaged me saying, you
- 9:07guys read it in like one night or one day, which I mean,
- 9:11go you. I feel like I haven't really had the time. I'd love
- 9:13to go to a beach and just like read for hours in tan at the
- 9:18same time. Maybe I'll have time this weekend to do that, but as
- 9:22I said, what I'm planning and all that has just taken over my world,
- 9:24I feel like, and then obviously all my spare time goes towards my
- 9:28work and all that. But you know, I read the first three chapters
- 9:31and I'm so proud of myself. I feel like you guys would be proud
- 9:35of me too. So anyways, I just thought I would highlight that because
- 9:37I finally made time to go to the bookstore and buy the book and all
- 9:41that. So I'm just excited to yeah, hopefully finish this book before maybe
- 9:46before the end of the month. Maybe maybe not. That might be a
- 9:50little too unrealistic of a goal for myself, but let's stay end of September.
- 9:54We're going to finish this book before the end of the september. That
- 9:56would be my goal. Maybe I can finish it on the flight as well,
- 10:00or have a new book at that point. But we are trying things
- 10:03out of our comfort zone and I'm loving it. So yeah, that's a
- 10:07little update on that. But let's get into this episode. I'm very excited
- 10:11to talk about the Hawk Girl maintenance routine. So, as I said,
- 10:16these are things that I do currently or like on a monthly basis, a
- 10:24weekly basis, a yearly basis, or things that I would aspire to do,
- 10:28or things that I know people do themselves but might not be something that
- 10:31I fancy. But the first one, this is something that I've really wanted
- 10:37to do, and this is more of a once a year kind of thing,
- 10:39is a vitamin test. So what a vitamin test is is it allows
- 10:45you to know what you basically need. So I take supplements in the morning,
- 10:50I take a multi vitamin, I take a probiotic, probiotic all that,
- 10:56And yes, I could say that I feel like it's working, but
- 11:01I don't actually know if that's exactly what I need. I mean, probiotic
- 11:05and prebiotic is kind of different, but like the multi vitamin, you know,
- 11:09it's I'm assuming it's doing the works of what I need. But I
- 11:15definitely feel like I could be low in certain things that I could actually be
- 11:18taking Vitamins four, like I personally think I'm low and iron, but I
- 11:24want to get tested before I jumped to the conclusion of taking that, Like,
- 11:28I would rather be properly tested and know exactly what I'm low in and
- 11:31if I need to take Vitamin C or Vitamin D or whatever. Right,
- 11:35So, I definitely think a vitamin test would be worth it to know exactly
- 11:39what your body needs because obviously there's days where I lack energy and I'm like,
- 11:43why am I lacking energy so much? What do I need to change?
- 11:46Do I need to take supplements to help my energy levels stay high or
- 11:50consistent? Right? Anyways, when it comes to vitamins, though, I
- 11:54definitely think there is ways that I can improve my health by going to get
- 12:00a VI itemin test. So that's definitely something that I really want to do,
- 12:03and I definitely think it can make a huge difference in your overall energy
- 12:05mood all that. Another thing that I've been really wanting to get done is
- 12:09an allergy test. I feel like allergies is something that you can either grow
- 12:15out of or grow into as you grow up. I know so many people
- 12:18within my friend group who have randomly became silly acts so they only eat gluten
- 12:22free things, or you know, some are allergic to red meat or certain
- 12:26types of fish or anything like that. Right, So, I had an
- 12:31allergic reaction two weeks ago. I don't know if I mentioned that two guys
- 12:35on the pod, but I mentioned it on my socials. But I had
- 12:37this really bad allergic reaction all over my face and it was from a skincare
- 12:41product and my skin is pretty sensitive. But there's definitely a specific product inside
- 12:48these skincare products that are creating this allergic reaction for my skin. And I
- 12:52think I've narrowed it down based on the ingredients, but I don't know because
- 12:56I've never gotten actual allergy test done. So I personally think it's probably lavender,
- 13:01but I could be wrong, like I usually react to natural products,
- 13:07which is crazy because you would think that you know the cleaner the products,
- 13:11like in terms of the ingredients, the better for your skin. But in
- 13:13actual fact, like there's just some people that, like, for example,
- 13:18me let my skin likes chemicals unfortunately, which sucks because I'd rather use clean
- 13:22beauty. But it was a clean beauty product that I tried and I had
- 13:26a full on allergic reaction on my face. So anyways, I definitely think
- 13:30it's worth me going to get an allergy test done to see what's causing my
- 13:33skin to react the way it does. But I think in general, like
- 13:37going into different seasons or anything like that, like sometimes you get super dry
- 13:41eyes or itchy eyes and all that, and we don't really know what causes
- 13:45that, and there could be something specific that you're allergic to that you should
- 13:48be getting tested for. So I definitely recommend getting an allergy test. Okay,
- 13:52this next one is definitely something that I need to do because my doctor
- 13:58told me to do it and I'm so bad not doing this, but I
- 14:01need to get my blood work done. I don't know if you guys have
- 14:03gotten blood work done, but I do think that's definitely something that can be
- 14:05done. I don't want to say yearly, but maybe like every two years.
- 14:13Yeah, I just think overall, for your health, I think it's
- 14:16important to just see what's going on. I don't think I need to go
- 14:18into this much further, but essentially, I just think it's important to obviously
- 14:22get your health checked and just make sure everything is good because obviously, you
- 14:28know, we just want to make sure we're checking in and making sure that
- 14:31we're making our health a priority. Okay, this next one is something that
- 14:35I have been dying to do, but I actually don't know if there's a
- 14:39place in Ottawa that does this. But it's a lynthetic drainage. And if
- 14:45you guys don't know what that is, it's definitely something that could help with
- 14:48bloating or depuffing or anything like that. Essentially, what it is is that
- 14:52it's supposed to help remove waste and toxins from the body tissues. It could
- 14:58basically just help any fluid that's built up into your stomach area. It could
- 15:03also be like your face, it could be like your legs, it could
- 15:05be basically a full body massage and it's just supposed to release any type of
- 15:11waste in toxins from your body. So it's definitely something that I've been wanting
- 15:13to try, so if you're from Ottawa and you know a place that does
- 15:18this, semi message, because I've been really really wanting to try this,
- 15:22but I definitely think it's something that you could keep up with, either on
- 15:24a monthly basis or you know, a bi monthly basis, like go every
- 15:28two months. Just try and keep with it in a routine. Now,
- 15:31I know I've already been through a few of these maintenance tips, but I
- 15:35do want to give a disclaimer that obviously this is not something I do every
- 15:41single year. This obviously costs a lot of money, and I'm not saying
- 15:43you guys have to spend all your money doing these things. At the end
- 15:46of the day, I think it's important to do everything you can for yourself
- 15:52at no cost by doing the little things like I always say, like journaling,
- 15:56you know, exercising at home, doing meditation, all those little things
- 16:00obviously are a huge impact in investing on yourself. But just know that these
- 16:07are just some things that I can recommend for you guys if you guys want
- 16:11to try it. As I said, like even for me, like I
- 16:15can't afford doing these things like all the time every year every month. All
- 16:18that. There's certain things that I obviously make a priority, like getting my
- 16:22nails done and you know, the odd hair appointment and all that, And
- 16:26I think that's all about just budgeting and just you know, for you what
- 16:29makes the most sense. I'm just naming some things that I either aspire to
- 16:33do or hope to do one day, either saving my money to do it
- 16:36or anything like that. So I just want to make that disclaimer out clear
- 16:40because I feel like, you know, some people think, oh my god,
- 16:41how can she afford to do all that? Blah blah blah, But
- 16:44no, like I don't do all these things, as I mentioned the beginning
- 16:48of this episode, but it's things that I would like to do. So
- 16:52yeah, there's also wasts like fine discounts online through emails or anything like that.
- 16:59But yeah, just know that I would try and you take some tips
- 17:02from this episode and create your own list on things that you think would be
- 17:06a huge asset for yourself. So, as I said, you don't have
- 17:08to do all these things, but maybe like five of these things that you
- 17:11like from this episode that you want to try yourself, I think could be
- 17:15worth you know, getting into. So I just want to make that clear.
- 17:18But anyways, let's get into the next tip, which is facials.
- 17:22I've done a few facials myself. I've told you guys that in the past.
- 17:26I personally think they're one hundred percent worth it. Seeing the amount of
- 17:29dirt on your face just being poured out through the facial just blows my mind
- 17:33every single time. I think it's so important just to like really open up
- 17:36the pores and just like really take care of your skin. Obviously a skincare
- 17:40routine is so so important, but obviously a facial is a bit more of
- 17:44an extreme approach, and I also feel like it's a bit of a skin
- 17:48reset. It gives my skin a new glow, and I just feel like,
- 17:51like I said, it's just more like a reset on your face,
- 17:52and I find it's always so beneficial to do that, So I try and
- 17:57keep up with facials, probably once every two months. I definitely know that
- 18:00they're not cheap, but I definitely think it's worth it, especially if you're
- 18:04that kind of person where you really really care about taking care of your skin.
- 18:07And yeah, I just personally think it's one percent worth it. For
- 18:12the types of facials that I've personally done, I've done an exfoliation and a
- 18:18chemical peel, as well as a hydro facial. The hydro facial is personally
- 18:22my favorite, just because I have super dry skin and I find my skin
- 18:26just like really needs the hydration every time I go in. So I personally
- 18:30love the hydrofacial. Just for someone who may not know that much about facials,
- 18:36there's different types you can get, and if you are really dry like
- 18:40me, where your face gets super dry, I highly recommend a hydro facial.
- 18:44Okay, these next two are a dentist's appointment and a doctor's appointment.
- 18:48This is something that you should be doing on a yearly basis, no matter
- 18:52what I think, that's so so important. I will be totally honest.
- 18:56I have not been to the dentist in a hot minute, Like I really
- 19:00need to go to that, Like I have not gone at all this year,
- 19:02and I'm due for an appointment. And it's funny because I told Zach
- 19:07that he had to go and because he had to get a tooth fixed for
- 19:11the engagement photos because he chipped his tooth through baseball. Anyways, long story
- 19:15short, so he tells me, is, okay, you told me to
- 19:19go to the dentist. Now it's your turn. So he's very right.
- 19:22I need to book my dentist appointment. That's something I definitely have not made
- 19:27a priority, and I need to. I think obviously, our oral health
- 19:30is extremely important, and you know, I want to keep my white teeth.
- 19:34I want to keep them looking good all that. I don't want any
- 19:37cavities or any root canals or anything like that. So yeah, that's this
- 19:41is my sign even doing this episode, that I need to call tomorrow morning
- 19:45to book an appointment and then doctor's appointment. I honestly go to the doctors
- 19:49so much. I am a bit of a hypochondriact. I think I've mentioned
- 19:53that before in a podcast episode, But anytime there's something wrong with me,
- 19:57I think of the worst case scenario and I just books an appointment to see
- 20:00my doctors. So I've been to the doctor multiple times, almost too much,
- 20:03I think. But I think it's so important to just make sure you're
- 20:08always checking in on your health, as I said, and booking that appointment,
- 20:11just making sure everything is good, because at the end of the day,
- 20:15as I said, it's just important to make sure that our health is
- 20:19just as important as well as what we look on the outside. Next is
- 20:23booking a dermatologists appointment. This is again something I haven't done, but something
- 20:27that I've been wanting to do, and the reason why I want to do
- 20:32it is not really for like my skin in terms of like acne or breakouts
- 20:37or anything like that. For me, it would be so educating myself on
- 20:41the kind of skin that I have and using the proper products for my face,
- 20:45but also just making sure, you know, I have a lot of
- 20:48Beauni marks on my body and on my face, making sure that there's nothing
- 20:52to be concerned about. So when it comes to like milanoma cancer, just
- 20:56making sure that everything is under control. That you know, it's important to
- 21:00check our bodies, making sure that there's nothing that looks discolored or raised or
- 21:04anything like that. When it comes to beauty marks or moles, I think
- 21:07it's really really important to just always get that checked, especially for people who
- 21:12love to tan and who love to be outside like myself. I love to
- 21:18tan. Obviously I wear sunscreen on my face twenty four seven no matter what.
- 21:22It is part of my skincare teen as soon as I wake up,
- 21:25But you never know, it's just always important to check your body and make
- 21:29sure everything looks good. So that's definitely something I think should be booked on
- 21:33a yearly basis. Next is hair appointments. I always like to get my
- 21:37hair done, probably once every three to four months. I usually go three
- 21:41times a year, and typically what I get is a trim. I usually
- 21:45get a hair mask done like a treatment, just to make sure that my
- 21:52hair is not damaged. I like to make sure it's nice repaired, obviously,
- 21:55because using heat on your hair and all that can create damage on the
- 21:59hair. And I don't really dye it. I have dyed it in the
- 22:03past, but I am my natural hair color right now, so I'm hoping
- 22:07to not do that again. I mean, the sun has lightened up my
- 22:11hair a bit, which is not a bad thing for me. But sometimes
- 22:14if my hair is pulling red, which I find sometimes it does, I
- 22:18will use a toner so I won't dye it, but i'll tone it.
- 22:23I try to avoid bleach or anything like that, just because it's quite damaging
- 22:27to my hair. But yeah, so I usually ask for a trim.
- 22:32I usually get long face framing layers, and I trim my bangs, usually
- 22:37to my jawline, just to create that like nineties blowout. I love the
- 22:41like really choppy layer look. I think it looks so good. And then
- 22:45yeah, I usually get a treatment. But that's what I usually do,
- 22:48as I said, like three times a year, and it always just feels
- 22:52so good. You know, you feel good when your hair is freshly done,
- 22:55like you always have a good hair day. I find, especially when
- 22:57you just get your hair done, like it just always looks so good.
- 23:02So it's always so worth just yeah, touching up your hair every few months.
- 23:07Yeah, I feel like, as I said, you feel good when
- 23:10your hair looks good. So yeah, okay. Next is a full body
- 23:15massage. This is like so so important, Like I cannot stress the importance
- 23:21of this. I probably get a massage once every I want to say,
- 23:25three to four months. And it's amazing how like how much you don't realize
- 23:30how tense your body actually is, Like the amount of areas that whenever I
- 23:34go get a massage done, I'm like, wow, I did not know
- 23:37I was so tight in my legs or in my neck or in my back,
- 23:41Like it just amazes me how much tension our body can hold in certain
- 23:45areas. And I like, you cannot walk away from a full body massage
- 23:51and not say that you feel like an entirely different person, like you feel
- 23:55so amazing after a body massage. So this is your sign to book that
- 23:59full body massage. I'm telling you right now, you will feel like a
- 24:00new human being after getting that done. Yes, you can do at home
- 24:06massages with your fiance or your boyfriend or your partner anything like that, but
- 24:10it's never the same. You have to go get that full experience. Let
- 24:14me tell you, it is a game changer and it will change your life.
- 24:18Next is laser hair removal. This will save you so much time,
- 24:22ladies. Let me tell you, Like, if you're the kind of person
- 24:25that hates shaving their legs, shaving their armpits, just taking all that time
- 24:30in the shower to do your everything shower routine, you need to try laser
- 24:34hair removal. Definitely not the cheapest thing in the entire world, but the
- 24:38benefits are so worth it. Okay, last thing that I do on a
- 24:44yearly basis, I get a bit of baby boat talks and I get a
- 24:48little bit of lip filler in my lips. This is something that I've been
- 24:52very open about on my socials, but I do have my lips done,
- 24:55and it's something that I was very self conscious about. And I feel like
- 24:59when I get my lip stent, I feel the most confident, I feel
- 25:02the most me to be honest, I just feel like it suits my face.
- 25:06I was just always self conscious of my small lips, and I am
- 25:08a firm believer on doing whatever makes you happy. And if you feel good
- 25:15doing it and you look good doing it, like I think it just you
- 25:18should do whatever makes you happy. And I feel my best when I have
- 25:22lippillars. So that's something that I'm very open about and happy to answer any
- 25:26questions. If you guys feel like you want to get it done yourself,
- 25:30I am happy to answer any questions like that personally. For me, as
- 25:33I said, I just find I'm so much more confident with it and I
- 25:36feel my best. And for boat Talx, I've gotten baby boat talks in
- 25:38the past only once, but I do find it makes a big difference.
- 25:42I'm a very expressive person, so I use a lot of facial expressions while
- 25:48I communicate and all that, so I find I get little fine lines on
- 25:53my face sometimes and I find the baby Boat Talks just helps a bit to
- 25:57prevent that and that overall look. So yeah, that's definitely something I do
- 26:03on a yearly basis, and again it's just something that makes me feel more
- 26:08confident. Okay, monthly things that I do. You guys know, I
- 26:11always get a manicure. I always love to get my acrylic nails on.
- 26:15These are not my real nails. These are fake nails. I wish I
- 26:18could say they're my real nails, but I was actually told by my nail
- 26:21girl that it's probably better for me to do acrylic verse my real nails because
- 26:25you're putting the shellac and all the chemical products not on your physical nail bud.
- 26:30So I was told that it was actually better. But I don't really
- 26:33know much about nail health, but I know when I get my nails done,
- 26:37I feel my best and it's just something that I love to do.
- 26:41And then I also love to get a pedicure. This is more so in
- 26:44the summer, just because I know I'm going to be out and about with
- 26:47open toe shoes and all that. I wouldn't say I do pedicures too much
- 26:51in the winter, but I definitely try and keep up with it as much
- 26:53as I can, and sometimes I'll just do a pedicure myself at home as
- 26:56well. So but yeah, pedicures and man are definitely something I tried to
- 27:00do on a monthly basis. Clean my makeup brushes. This is definitely something
- 27:07I could be better at because I feel like this is something that's so easy
- 27:10to forget to do, but it's so important to do because obviously, cleaning
- 27:15your makeup brushes is definitely something that's better for your skin. You don't want
- 27:18that bacteria going on just because obviously it builds up over time. And yeah,
- 27:23but definitely cleaning your makeup brushes on a monthly basis is so so important.
- 27:29This next one has nothing to do with your overall self, but deep
- 27:33cleaning your home. I definitely find cleaning your home makes a huge difference in
- 27:37your own mood, Specifically, like when I feel like I've been in a
- 27:41rut and I just need, you know, to be in a better mindset
- 27:45or a better headspace. I always find doing a reset in my home makes
- 27:49me feel so much better. Just doing a deep clean, cleaning all areas
- 27:55of my home, I literally wake up the next morning and I feel like
- 27:59a new being because my home feels so clean and so new and so good.
- 28:03So I definitely find doing a deep clean of your house once a month
- 28:08really makes a huge difference in your overall mood and mindset, so I think
- 28:14it's important to do that on a monthly basis. Next is eyebrow waxing or
- 28:18lamination. I really want to get my eyebrows laminated. I'm a little nervous
- 28:22too, It's definitely something I want to do. I think I probably won't
- 28:25try it until after the engagement party, just because, yeah, just in
- 28:29case, you never know, right, But I know I'm sure I'll love
- 28:32it. And then I always get my eyebrows wax probably once every six weeks.
- 28:37I have really thick eyebrows, so I pluck them as much as I
- 28:40can, like on a weekly basis, but I feel like I need to
- 28:44get them wax like every six weeks just to keep them looking the most clean.
- 28:49And yeah, this next one is more of a winter thing for me,
- 28:53but getting spray tans on a monthly basis is a huge benefit for me
- 28:57because I feel the most confident and at my best when I have a tan.
- 29:03I honestly think my mood is so low because I'm so pale in the
- 29:07winter season and the girls like get it, get it. So I love
- 29:11spray tan's more than self tanner. I just find it gives more of a
- 29:15natural look. Obviously it is a bit more expensive, but I do find
- 29:18they last a bit longer as well. But I go to this girl.
- 29:19Her name's Brighter Byite Brett. Let me know. If you guys want to
- 29:23discount code, I am happy to give you one. I have been going
- 29:27to her for so so long, and she is so good, you guys,
- 29:32she is by far the best person I've been in Ottawa to get a
- 29:34spray tan. It's so natural. She's the sweetest human being. So let
- 29:40me know, or honestly, just send her a message and book an appointment
- 29:42if you're in need of a spray tan. She's awesome. But she is
- 29:47someone I go to probably once a month in the winter, and I just
- 29:49always feel like the most amazing human being whenever I have a spray tan.
- 29:53Okay, next is weekly things. My hair wash routine. I like to
- 30:00do a hair mask, typically in the shower. I'll put that in first
- 30:03before a shampoo and conditioner. I've been loving the way hair mask. It's
- 30:08just like a treatment that you put in for like five to ten minutes,
- 30:11and I'll usually like do my everything shower at the same time, like shaving
- 30:15my legs, exfoliating all that. And that's another thing I do in a
- 30:18weekly basis, which is my everything shower routine. So you guys know that
- 30:22everything shower routine by now. But shaving, exfoliating, body scrub, dry
- 30:26brushing after a shower. One other thing that I've recently included into my routine
- 30:32is oiling my entire body after the shower. Oh my goodness, I feel
- 30:38like a new human being. I don't know why I haven't used oil on
- 30:41my body after a shower, Like, I don't know why I'm just starting
- 30:45this, but I just got the Soul Dijonnero body oil burst off. You
- 30:49smell amazing. You smell like you just came back from vacation. Secondly,
- 30:53your body is glowing, like the list can go on about how amazing this
- 30:59product is. But I don't know why I just jumped on the Soul dij
- 31:03and Narrow train recently, Like I also got the body wash as well.
- 31:07Guys, can someone please tell me why I just jumped on this train,
- 31:10Like I have no idea why, But I'm obsessed with the scent of the
- 31:14soul Diji and Narrow products. They are so good I can't get over it.
- 31:18Anyways, That's something I've recently added to my shower routine and I do
- 31:22not regret it. It was the best purchase, and as I said,
- 31:26adding oil to my body after a shower has been a game changer. Next
- 31:30I feel like some people don't talk about this too much is facial shaving.
- 31:33I do not shave my entire face, but I know some people do with
- 31:37those facial like razors. They're not a normal razor, it's like more of
- 31:41a flat blade. But I do that to my upper lip just because that's
- 31:44an area that I find gets a bit of hair and I just like to
- 31:48trim that up just so that it looks good. But that's something that I
- 31:52like to do probably once a week. But I know some people that do
- 31:55their whole face to give like that really like clean makeup look. I know
- 32:00bowl like to have no hair on their face to apply makeup and it always
- 32:04looks so so good. I just, yeah, I haven't gotten to that
- 32:07step yet of doing my whole face. I'm kind of a little nervous to
- 32:10try it, but yeah, I definitely know a lot of girls that do
- 32:15do it, and just say that your makeup applies so much better when you
- 32:19do do that, just because there's hair on your face that you may not
- 32:22notice. But yeah, for now, I just do my upper lip,
- 32:24and yeah, it's just something that I've always done on a weekly basis.
- 32:30Another thing is facial tanning drops. I do not tann my face, so
- 32:34I love to just add tanning drops to my face to just make sure my
- 32:37face matches the rest of my body, just because, yeah, I tann
- 32:40my body as much as I can, but my body is definitely more tan
- 32:45than my face, and that's usually normal, but I like to try and
- 32:50match it up as best as possible, so I use the Luck's Unfiltered Tanning
- 32:54Drops, by far the best tanning drop brand I've ever used, and I
- 32:59find it makes a huge difference in my face and I usually use that once
- 33:01week. Sauna sessions is the next one. If you have a sauna at
- 33:07your gym or at your home or wherever close by to your place, I
- 33:12highly highly recommend doing that on a weekly basis. I've actually been strongly debating
- 33:16on buying a sauna from my home, which sounds crazy, but that's definitely
- 33:21something that I would love to save my money for and actually purchase because I
- 33:24love saunas so much and I unfortunately don't have access to one close by unless
- 33:31I buy a membership for a gym. But you guys know that I don't
- 33:35really like to go to the gym. I rather do a workout at home
- 33:37and do like spin classes or pilate classes. So for me, it's not
- 33:40really worth the money to put it towards a membership just to use their sauna.
- 33:45So yeah, I've been kind of debating on doing that. I've also
- 33:50seen, I don't know if you guys have seen the sauna blanket where you
- 33:52can plug it in and you just literally lay inside. Basically it looks like
- 33:58a body bag essentially, and it's you sweat your brains off and then you
- 34:04can take a shower after and it does the same type of benefits as you
- 34:07would in a sauna. It's called a sauna blanket. I believe you can
- 34:10get on Amazon. It's a bit more affordable. So that's definitely something that
- 34:15I've been debating on trying as well. But saunas are so so good for
- 34:19you. The benefits are increased metabolism, detoxification, weight loss, increased blood
- 34:25circulation, all that good stuff INTI aging. The list can go on,
- 34:29but there's so many good things about saunas and just something that I recommend getting
- 34:35into on a weekly basis. So that would be the perfect ideal maintenance routine
- 34:40for things that I would really want to keep up throughout the year, throughout
- 34:44a monthly basis or throughout a weekly basis, or just the daily things like
- 34:47I mentioned, like journaling, meditation, exercising, all that good stuff.
- 34:52But thank you guys so so much for listening to today's episode. I hope
- 34:55you guys enjoyed it. As I said, these are definitely things that I
- 35:00don't do every year, but it's definitely stuff that I aspire to do and
- 35:04strive to do because I know taking care of myself is so important and it
- 35:07makes me feel good, and it's just something that I strive to do because
- 35:10as I said, I always know I feel my best when I look my
- 35:14best, but I also feel my best when I actually invest time in myself.
- 35:19So it's very important to take care of our health, take care of
- 35:22ourselves. So thank you guys, so so much for listening to another episode.
- 35:25You guys know how much I love you all. If this recording sounds
- 35:29a bit different than the rest of the episode, it's because my mike,
- 35:32I think, just broke. So if it sounds a bit foggy compared to
- 35:36the rest of the clip, I'm so sorry about that. Guys. I
- 35:37might have to buy a new mic before the next episode. But thank you
