Latest / Podcast - Big 98.7 / You Hate It, They Love It
Transcript
- 0:03Speaker 1: I hate so much about the things that you choose
- 0:07Speaker 1: to be. What is something you hate that everyone seems
- 0:11Speaker 1: to love.
- 0:11Speaker 2: We have justin on the phone.
- 0:13Speaker 3: My mom hates pizza. She gags at the thought of it.
- 0:16Speaker 4: I think she just thinks it has too much cheese,
- 0:19Speaker 4: which she's just not a big fan of for some reason.
- 0:22Speaker 4: I mean, that is crazy to me, that is to
- 0:25Speaker 4: not love pizza. But you know what, my sister Unlas,
- 0:28Speaker 4: she is not a big fan of pizza, and I
- 0:31Speaker 4: can't relate to that at all.
- 0:34Speaker 1: There was a conversation Angie and I are having yesterday
- 0:37Speaker 1: that we related to when we're like, wait, it was
- 0:40Speaker 1: like the Spider Man meme where they're both pointing at
- 0:42Speaker 1: each other.
- 0:43Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Angie and I both discovered yesterday that we do not
- 0:50Speaker 1: like cake.
- 0:51Speaker 2: We are both cake haters.
- 0:52Speaker 4: Cake is not my jam, especially an ice cream cake.
- 0:55Speaker 4: But that's a whole other thing. But yeah, I'm not
- 0:58Speaker 4: a fan of cake. In fact, growing up, I always
- 1:01Speaker 4: asked for blueberry pie instead of cake for my birthday.
- 1:05Speaker 1: And see that's about where the conversation ended. Because I
- 1:10Speaker 1: hate every kind of pie. There's not a pie I
- 1:14Speaker 1: have found that I like except.
- 1:16Speaker 3: One how did you celebrate my guy.
- 1:18Speaker 2: French silk pie?
- 1:19Speaker 4: Oh?
- 1:19Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, that I will, But like pompkin pie, I
- 1:24Speaker 1: can't seem to like. Apple pie is the worst. And
- 1:28Speaker 1: I know everyone loves it, all right. I cannot bring
- 1:32Speaker 1: myself to enjoy warm, soggy apples.
- 1:37Speaker 2: I just can't do it. I don't know why.
- 1:40Speaker 3: Apple pie is good.
- 1:41Speaker 2: But you know what.
- 1:41Speaker 4: We asked this on the big ninety eight points I've
- 1:43Speaker 4: in Facebook page. I didn't see pie or cake come up,
- 1:47Speaker 4: but there were some good answers.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Julia doesn't like sushi.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, that is kind of universal.
- 1:53Speaker 3: I love sushi, yes, and I don't.
- 1:56Speaker 1: I don't love sushi necessarily, but I like some, so
- 1:59Speaker 1: I can't say I hate sushi. There are sushis that
- 2:01Speaker 1: I like, types of sushi that I will eat.
- 2:04Speaker 4: Well.
- 2:04Speaker 3: Julia hates it.
- 2:05Speaker 4: Lauri hates chocolate, and that is something I actually can
- 2:10Speaker 4: get behind.
- 2:11Speaker 3: I'm not a big chocolate fan like at all.
- 2:14Speaker 2: So you'd rather have like a like a bag of
- 2:15Speaker 2: skittles in a row.
- 2:16Speaker 3: Yes, I'm a fruity candy kind of girl. Chocolate.
- 2:19Speaker 4: I really have to be in the mood, and it
- 2:21Speaker 4: really has to be that time of the month, Joe
- 2:24Speaker 4: said cilantro that he hates cilantro. But I think that's
- 2:29Speaker 4: a biology thing, because isn't it that there's some people
- 2:31Speaker 4: who love cilantro and the people that don't it's because
- 2:34Speaker 4: they have that gene that makes cilantro taste like soap.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Is this a bit from the office.
- 2:40Speaker 4: No, this is a real thing, although that is on
- 2:43Speaker 4: the list someone hates the office.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Something you love that everyone or something you hate? Excuse
- 2:52Speaker 1: me that everyone seems to love. We do have Tessa
- 2:55Speaker 1: on the phone, MI.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Co worker hates chocolate. She says it MESSI and that
- 3:01Speaker 2: every Valentine's Day she just quietly slides the box someone
- 3:04Speaker 2: gives her to the nearest chocoholic.
- 3:07Speaker 1: What there's a lot more chocolate haters out there than
- 3:09Speaker 1: we thought. I think that might be the case. You
- 3:12Speaker 1: know something, I also disliked that everyone seems to universally love.
- 3:16Speaker 1: And I would put it in the bottom half of
- 3:18Speaker 1: the best seasons.
- 3:19Speaker 3: What Yeah, hit us up?
- 3:26Speaker 4: Seven oh one too eight o one nine eight seven.
- 3:28Speaker 4: What's your little victory? I know the Swifties little victory
- 3:32Speaker 4: is that Taylor announced a new album and we'll get
- 3:36Speaker 4: into that later in the tea. But for me, my
- 3:38Speaker 4: little victory was that Mikey went ahead and unclogged the
- 3:43Speaker 4: sink drain. Mikey's my boyfriend for those who don't know,
- 3:47Speaker 4: and he's been man of the housing for me, and
- 3:50Speaker 4: my sink was just not draining the way it needed
- 3:53Speaker 4: to drain. And so he got in there yesterday and
- 3:55Speaker 4: it was disgusting and I helped in no way, and.
- 4:01Speaker 2: The clock it didn't even hold the flask.
- 4:04Speaker 3: No, absolutely not. I was like, oh, this is gross.
- 4:07Speaker 2: He was like, this is you.
- 4:08Speaker 3: You did this.
- 4:09Speaker 4: But it's now free and clear, and so that's a
- 4:13Speaker 4: huge victory. When I was brushing my teeth this morning,
- 4:16Speaker 4: I was like, look at that water just swirl right
- 4:18Speaker 4: down the drain. It is nice when you have like
- 4:22Speaker 4: and you're saying, does need to be able to drain.
- 4:24Speaker 4: Of course, when you have an inconvenience on a household
- 4:29Speaker 4: project or worse and you get it done, it is
- 4:32Speaker 4: kind of awesome to watch it work correctly.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Yeah, the do what it's supposed to do.
- 4:37Speaker 4: Yeah, I feel really I can't wait to turn on
- 4:40Speaker 4: the sync again.
- 4:41Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Have you ever had a door that like it?
- 4:43Speaker 1: Wouldn't shut right, or you'd have to like lean into
- 4:45Speaker 1: it to get it to shot.
- 4:47Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, all.
- 4:48Speaker 4: Of the doors in my house were doing that, and
- 4:50Speaker 4: Mikey already fixed those.
- 4:52Speaker 2: It's so amazing.
- 4:53Speaker 3: I better learn how to keep this man because he
- 4:56Speaker 3: does all the things.
- 4:57Speaker 1: It's so nice when you can just like you use
- 4:59Speaker 1: your like finger to push the door and then it
- 5:02Speaker 1: just sways shut.
- 5:03Speaker 3: Yeah, and you hear a click, so satisfying.
- 5:06Speaker 2: It is wonderful.
- 5:07Speaker 1: We're adults, yeah, right, definitely in our mid thirty that's right.
- 5:13Speaker 1: That's right, my little victory. So Angie always kind of
- 5:17Speaker 1: makes fun of me for the little things that I
- 5:20Speaker 1: like to buy for the truck.
- 5:22Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, did you buy another gadget for the truck?
- 5:25Speaker 1: No?
- 5:25Speaker 2: But this is even better.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Oh okay, as a founding member of the truck community. Okay,
- 5:31Speaker 1: what you have to have in your truck in the back,
- 5:34Speaker 1: you know at the bed? Yes, okay, I have like
- 5:37Speaker 1: this liner, right, and it's plastic and it's great because
- 5:40Speaker 1: it keeps all the stuff.
- 5:41Speaker 2: And I bought it with that in there.
- 5:42Speaker 1: That's not something I added, right, okay, But the problem
- 5:45Speaker 1: is if you throw stuff back there a suitcase, a
- 5:47Speaker 1: dog kennel, a cooler, a whatever, and you have just
- 5:50Speaker 1: this hard plastic like liner.
- 5:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Unless you kind of bungee stuff tight, it'll just slide around.
- 5:57Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
- 5:58Speaker 1: And the same with golf clubs or whatever. Well, two
- 6:01Speaker 1: and a half months ago, your boy ordered a rubber
- 6:04Speaker 1: matt that was supposed to go in the back of
- 6:06Speaker 1: that to stop things from sliding. On May ninth, I
- 6:11Speaker 1: ordered this thing. I'll be honest, I kind of forgot.
- 6:15Speaker 1: I had no clue about this. And then like three
- 6:17Speaker 1: or four days ago, I was like, Okay, this is
- 6:19Speaker 1: taking way too long. I know, you know, with the
- 6:23Speaker 1: the stuff going on in the universe like some type
- 6:25Speaker 1: of forever, right, but two and a half months is
- 6:30Speaker 1: a bit ridiculous. Yeah, especially because it's from an American
- 6:33Speaker 1: made company. It's not like from across the pond or anything.
- 6:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:37Speaker 1: And this bad boy showed up in the mail yesterday.
- 6:41Speaker 1: Oh game, And now I can throw stuff in the
- 6:44Speaker 1: bed of my truck and it will never slide around again.
- 6:49Speaker 1: My gadget and trinkets and little truck accessories are pretty
- 6:54Speaker 1: much done now.
- 6:55Speaker 2: I no longer need to buy any more truck.
- 6:57Speaker 4: That was the final piece of the puzzle. Finally, God, Yes, yes,
- 7:03Speaker 4: I'm so glad. But you know you're gonna find another
- 7:05Speaker 4: thing to buy.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I got mine a couple things. I also love
- 7:14Speaker 1: that we in the FM area are gonna help some
- 7:17Speaker 1: teachers just with school supplies and necessities for their classroom.
- 7:22Speaker 3: That's true.
- 7:23Speaker 4: We've teamed up with Beyond Realty for clear the cart,
- 7:26Speaker 4: so it's very simple. If you head to the Big
- 7:29Speaker 4: ninety eight point seven Facebook page, there's a post pinned
- 7:32Speaker 4: to the top teachers. You drop your Amazon wish list
- 7:36Speaker 4: links in the comments and everyone else get in those
- 7:40Speaker 4: comments and find a wish list and start clearing some
- 7:43Speaker 4: items off there. We've already had so many comments from teachers,
- 7:46Speaker 4: and let me tell you, no one is more grateful
- 7:49Speaker 4: than a teacher. CALLI put my second graders would love
- 7:53Speaker 4: any support. We're starting a new curriculum this year that
- 7:56Speaker 4: includes life cycles. I would love to try to have
- 8:00Speaker 4: chicken eggs. All right, that's super fun. Get in there
- 8:04Speaker 4: and clear her car, Cassie said, thanks for considering. Anything helps,
- 8:08Speaker 4: and that's true. Anything helps. If you can't clear an
- 8:10Speaker 4: entire car, just do what you can. Sammy Johnson, Hi
- 8:15Speaker 4: in my list are snacks for my schools, kindergarteners.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Anything helps listen.
- 8:19Speaker 4: Those snacks are crucial for kindergartens success.
- 8:23Speaker 1: We sit here and eat snacks as adults had been
- 8:26Speaker 1: nine exactly, seven, six twenty every day exactly.
- 8:29Speaker 4: In kindergarteners, this is their first year's school, like, they're
- 8:32Speaker 4: used to snack times, so they need the snacks. Carry
- 8:36Speaker 4: is an eighth grade social studies teacher, So truly appreciative
- 8:40Speaker 4: of a community that supports teachers in this way. There
- 8:44Speaker 4: is no way to say thank you enough. So get
- 8:47Speaker 4: into those comments and click on those links.
- 8:51Speaker 3: Here's what you're gonna do.
- 8:52Speaker 4: You're gonna copy the link and then you're gonna paste
- 8:54Speaker 4: it in your web browser and then it'll pop up
- 8:57Speaker 4: the list and you can clear the cart. Just head
- 8:59Speaker 4: to Big ninety eight point seven's Facebook page. Let's clear
- 9:02Speaker 4: the carts for these teachers in the FM area. They're
- 9:05Speaker 4: doing such important work. It takes a village and they're
- 9:09Speaker 4: a huge part of the village.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Yeah, it was very recently. Facebook changed some rules in
- 9:13Speaker 1: regarding links. So it used to be like a blue
- 9:16Speaker 1: thing that you could just click and it would take you.
- 9:19Speaker 1: You will have to copy and paste it now just
- 9:22Speaker 1: to remind you of that.
- 9:24Speaker 3: Right, don't let that determine.
- 9:26Speaker 2: It's literally two extra clicks.
- 9:28Speaker 3: Yes, it's so easy, so get in there.
- 9:30Speaker 4: And thanks to be on Realty for helping us clear
- 9:32Speaker 4: the carts.
- 9:33Speaker 2: That's right.
- 9:34Speaker 1: And Angie and I have both pledged to do some
- 9:37Speaker 1: cart clearing ourselves. Yes, of course, we're going to do
- 9:40Speaker 1: some random kind of just random name generator and try
- 9:44Speaker 1: to help out some teachers. And we're going to do
- 9:46Speaker 1: this with our very own money. This won't be like
- 9:48Speaker 1: Big ninety eight point seven money. This will be Angie
- 9:50Speaker 1: and gave money. So we are going to participate as
- 9:53Speaker 1: well and try to clear the cart. Brought to you
- 9:54Speaker 1: by Beyond Realty on the way Benson Boone and Angie
- 9:59Speaker 1: had something very interesting. She said to me when she
- 10:01Speaker 1: walked in. She was, you know, after the show every
- 10:04Speaker 1: day we talk about tomorrow show or the next show.
- 10:07Speaker 1: And she walked in this morning and she go, you know,
- 10:09Speaker 1: we got to move some things around. I have got
- 10:11Speaker 1: to tell you about this person I sadly have had
- 10:14Speaker 1: to unfollow on Instagram.
- 10:16Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, and I always feel bad, but it
- 10:18Speaker 4: had to be done.
- 10:19Speaker 1: Why have you unfollowed someone or unfriended them on Facebook
- 10:24Speaker 1: or Instagram.
- 10:25Speaker 2: We'll talk about it.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Coming up in about six minutes on Big ninety eight
- 10:27Speaker 1: point seven.
- 10:33Speaker 4: Have you ever had to unfriend someone on Facebook or
- 10:38Speaker 4: unfollow them on Instagram?
- 10:40Speaker 3: I hate when I have.
- 10:42Speaker 4: To do this because I feel like social media is
- 10:44Speaker 4: not that serious, right, and so you really have to
- 10:47Speaker 4: do something ridiculous for me to unfollow or unfriend. And
- 10:53Speaker 4: the other day I was going through my follows, like
- 10:57Speaker 4: I was just checking, like, oh, who has followed me?
- 11:00Speaker 4: And if anybody in the FM area follows me on Instagram,
- 11:04Speaker 4: I usually hit I hit follow back because it's like
- 11:07Speaker 4: I ain't got no friends.
- 11:08Speaker 2: And it's you know, hey, we live in the same town.
- 11:12Speaker 1: Yeah, we talk back and forth every day here on
- 11:14Speaker 1: Big ninety eight point seven, I always envision people in
- 11:16Speaker 1: their car like talking to us. Yeah, I mean too,
- 11:19Speaker 1: and so yeah, I have no problem giving a little
- 11:21Speaker 1: follow back or something as well.
- 11:23Speaker 3: Yeah, I do the follow that live in the area
- 11:25Speaker 3: or whatever, right, And.
- 11:26Speaker 4: Then like the goal with that is then I see
- 11:29Speaker 4: you know, your posts and your stories, and I just
- 11:31Speaker 4: kind of see like what's going on in the city,
- 11:33Speaker 4: what are you into whatever? I'll like things, I'll respond
- 11:37Speaker 4: but that's it, right. I get a DM from somebody
- 11:40Speaker 4: that I followed back. Now I'm not going to say
- 11:42Speaker 4: their name because I'm not a monster, but in the
- 11:44Speaker 4: picture it was a guy. It was a guy and
- 11:48Speaker 4: a girl in the profile picture, and just based on
- 11:51Speaker 4: like the ratio with faces, I thought it was the
- 11:55Speaker 4: girl in the photo who followed me, and I didn't
- 11:58Speaker 4: check the file.
- 12:00Speaker 3: I just hit follow back.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Well, sometimes you can't because they're like they're private.
- 12:04Speaker 4: Yeah, So I hit follow and they were private. So
- 12:07Speaker 4: I hit follow back and then I get a DM
- 12:09Speaker 4: almost immediately, Hey did you mean to follow me back?
- 12:13Speaker 4: And so I said, oh, yeah, I saw you followed me,
- 12:16Speaker 4: so I followed you back. And so then they said okay, cool,
- 12:22Speaker 4: So what.
- 12:23Speaker 3: Are you up to?
- 12:24Speaker 4: And I thought, oh, no, we're not. I just no.
- 12:27Speaker 2: Just making peanut buttery.
- 12:29Speaker 4: Yeah, but it's like I'm not gonna so then whoa,
- 12:33Speaker 4: how do you know my life?
- 12:34Speaker 3: So well, that part's weird.
- 12:36Speaker 4: Because I, despite what you just like, the phones listened,
- 12:40Speaker 4: the gabe listens. So then I was like, well, let
- 12:43Speaker 4: me actually check the profile, because if it's the girl,
- 12:47Speaker 4: I'm more likely to answer. If it's the guy, less
- 12:50Speaker 4: likely to answer.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Almost zero.
- 12:53Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, not almost zero. I'm not gonna answer if
- 12:55Speaker 4: it's a guy. So I check and it does seem
- 12:58Speaker 4: like it's the dude's Instagram. He just as a girl
- 13:00Speaker 4: in the profile picture with him. But then I don't
- 13:02Speaker 4: see the girl in any of the other pictures. Oh sure,
- 13:04Speaker 4: and so it's like, okay, that's weird. So I left
- 13:07Speaker 4: that on red. Then I get another notification and it's
- 13:10Speaker 4: that they liked the message I had sent before, saying
- 13:15Speaker 4: I followed why I followed them back, and I thought, okay,
- 13:18Speaker 4: so they're trying to get my attention again.
- 13:20Speaker 1: That's an old that's an old. Uh dude strat Oh yeah,
- 13:24Speaker 1: oh yeah. It's like, okay, I don't want to do
- 13:26Speaker 1: the double text because that sound seems pathetic. Yeah, but
- 13:29Speaker 1: you know what I'm gonna I'm gonna make their phone
- 13:30Speaker 1: ding one more time so I know they had to
- 13:33Speaker 1: check it.
- 13:35Speaker 2: That's what I thought it was.
- 13:36Speaker 3: So then I didn't open it again.
- 13:39Speaker 4: And then because I can see the preview of the
- 13:41Speaker 4: message a triple notification, I sent another DM that said
- 13:48Speaker 4: what's your go to bar dot dot dot? So I'm
- 13:51Speaker 4: sure there was more to the message, and that's when
- 13:53Speaker 4: I decided, no, this isn't.
- 13:56Speaker 3: This isn't what I thought it was gonna be.
- 13:59Speaker 4: And it's like, I don't want to assume that they're
- 14:02Speaker 4: trying to like hit on me or whatever, but I
- 14:05Speaker 4: just want to avoid that situation altogether. I think it's
- 14:08Speaker 4: a strange move if you're not trying to hit on
- 14:11Speaker 4: someone to just hit them up in the DMS immediately, right,
- 14:15Speaker 4: And so I removed them as a follower. I removed
- 14:18Speaker 4: myself as a follower. And now but because I'm like
- 14:21Speaker 4: a people pleaser, like, I feel bad and I don't
- 14:23Speaker 4: want anyone to be mad at me, and I had
- 14:26Speaker 4: to Yeah, okay, but I because I don't like anyone
- 14:30Speaker 4: to be upset with me. It probably stems from my
- 14:32Speaker 4: childhood trauma. But yeah, so I feel bad. I don't
- 14:35Speaker 4: want anyone to be mad. But I had to unfollow.
- 14:38Speaker 4: Have you ever what has made you unfollow someone or
- 14:41Speaker 4: unfriend someone?
- 14:42Speaker 1: Well, I would imagine if you happen to be a
- 14:45Speaker 1: woman listening right now, your dms have got to be
- 14:49Speaker 1: way wilder. Oh yeah, then you know, like mine, all
- 14:54Speaker 1: right ms basically don't exist, right, My DMS is just
- 14:58Speaker 1: my wife sending me videos all.
- 15:00Speaker 3: Yeah, see that's the kind of DMS I.
- 15:03Speaker 1: Want, or Angie DM and me like ten second joke clips.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Oh yeah, literally my DM.
- 15:10Speaker 1: So I don't I don't deal a ton with the
- 15:13Speaker 1: uh what is going on with this back and forth DM?
- 15:16Speaker 1: Yeah it happens, but it is so rare that I,
- 15:20Speaker 1: you know, it's not something I can relate to a ton.
- 15:22Speaker 2: But there are a ton of ladies I would assume.
- 15:25Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't think I'm alone in this, And I
- 15:27Speaker 4: also think that there are a lot of ladies who
- 15:29Speaker 4: there's that other folder like in the messages there's like
- 15:33Speaker 4: Primary General and then other and that folder is filled
- 15:38Speaker 4: with the most vile dms you could ever think of?
- 15:41Speaker 2: Do you have a DM?
- 15:43Speaker 1: And this I wouldn't say this was a nightmare for
- 15:45Speaker 1: Angie that you know, that was just all right, Hey,
- 15:48Speaker 1: this wasn't what I thought.
- 15:51Speaker 5: Of DM nightmares. That was very mild. But do you
- 15:54Speaker 5: have a DM nightmare or a DM uh? Oh that
- 15:59Speaker 5: you had to back up out of seven oh one
- 16:01Speaker 5: two eight zero one nine eight seven?
- 16:03Speaker 1: Let us know this morning on Big ninety eight point seven, this.
- 16:11Speaker 4: Is sorry, not sorry, We say the thing you're thinking,
- 16:14Speaker 4: but are too polite to say we die on the
- 16:16Speaker 4: hill of controversial opinions, so you don't have to gabe
- 16:20Speaker 4: what is eating you up today?
- 16:22Speaker 1: Okay, Summer is so overrated, and I think we tend
- 16:27Speaker 1: to romanticize it because growing up, summer meant school was out.
- 16:32Speaker 1: We didn't have to go to class every day. And
- 16:34Speaker 1: that was me too as a young man. And I'm
- 16:37Speaker 1: not saying I love winter, because it's impossible to love
- 16:40Speaker 1: something that hurts your face the second you go outside.
- 16:43Speaker 1: But as I got older, I started preferring other seasons
- 16:47Speaker 1: over the summer. Out of the four seasons, I'd put
- 16:50Speaker 1: summer right where it belongs, in third place, third, third place. Wow,
- 16:57Speaker 1: the heat, the heat in the summer. It brings humidity,
- 17:01Speaker 1: it brings bugs, random fireworks being shot in South Fargo
- 17:06Speaker 1: in our neighborhood. The sun beating down for twelve hours
- 17:10Speaker 1: a day. Everything's wet, I'm sweaty, everything stinks and smells
- 17:14Speaker 1: like swamp. And if you love all that that is fabulous,
- 17:18Speaker 1: you can have my share.
- 17:19Speaker 4: Okay, you can't give away your share of summer.
- 17:24Speaker 1: The real MVP of each year is fall, and it's
- 17:28Speaker 1: I don't even think close.
- 17:30Speaker 2: It is fall.
- 17:32Speaker 1: And then way down the wrung spring in second place.
- 17:36Speaker 1: And the only reason Fall, I think doesn't get the
- 17:38Speaker 1: credit it deserves is because the season feels so short.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Now.
- 17:41Speaker 1: I don't want to wish away summer. I'm going to
- 17:44Speaker 1: enjoy the remaining warm months. I'm gonna play some golf,
- 17:47Speaker 1: I'm gonna sit in the backyard and grill.
- 17:49Speaker 2: I am going to enjoy it.
- 17:52Speaker 1: But I am definitely ready for fall, don't I'm not
- 17:54Speaker 1: ready to decorate for fall.
- 17:56Speaker 3: If you remember that conversation, I do remember, that was
- 17:59Speaker 3: gonna be my.
- 18:00Speaker 4: If you're so into fall, let us have spooky season already.
- 18:03Speaker 1: But I am ready for fall. I'm ready for flannels.
- 18:06Speaker 1: I am ready for football. The three f's. Nothing goes
- 18:08Speaker 1: better together than fall, flannel and football.
- 18:11Speaker 3: Amen, all right, I.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Think Angie needs your help today. As the mosquitos in
- 18:19Speaker 1: the FM area are mosquiting.
- 18:22Speaker 3: I cannot.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Has got superpowers?
- 18:26Speaker 3: They really do.
- 18:27Speaker 1: So.
- 18:28Speaker 4: Thankfully the FM area has hooked me up with what
- 18:32Speaker 4: to do when I already have the bite. Okay, like
- 18:35Speaker 4: too late, I already got it, the one that I've
- 18:38Speaker 4: been using, just because I already have them at my
- 18:40Speaker 4: disposal because I have adult acne. Is someone said to
- 18:44Speaker 4: put pimple patches on the mosquito bite and that has
- 18:47Speaker 4: helped because I have one on my thigh.
- 18:49Speaker 3: That was like trying to kill me.
- 18:52Speaker 4: So fine, But how can I prevent is the issue?
- 18:57Speaker 4: Because I feel like the bug spray is not Like,
- 19:00Speaker 4: what do I do? I have only lived here for
- 19:04Speaker 4: five months, almost six months, y'all have been here so
- 19:08Speaker 4: much longer. What do you do to prevent them? How
- 19:10Speaker 4: are you guys not just bid up all day every day?
- 19:13Speaker 2: Well?
- 19:14Speaker 1: I actually went down a little internet wormhole. Okay, I
- 19:17Speaker 1: did what's called sleuthing. Oh, okay, some internet sleuthing. Yeah,
- 19:22Speaker 1: and you are not the only person in the FM
- 19:25Speaker 1: area who is wondering about mosquitos, all right. This person
- 19:29Speaker 1: on the Fargo Reddit had talked about these mosquitoes are
- 19:34Speaker 1: leaving welts on this person worse than horseflies. They think
- 19:38Speaker 1: maybe they're developing some type of allergy or their immune
- 19:41Speaker 1: system is growing overreactive as they age. But the itchiness
- 19:46Speaker 1: would have me scratching until I bleed if I didn't
- 19:49Speaker 1: lather myself in calamene for daring the attempt of a
- 19:53Speaker 1: midnight smoke, which I've just That image is hilarious to me.
- 19:58Speaker 1: I did some more digging because I'm a Minnesota kid, right, Yeah,
- 20:03Speaker 1: I'm not quite Fargo or morehead the FM area, but
- 20:06Speaker 1: I grew up in Minnesota, and the mosquitos to me
- 20:10Speaker 1: this year are a bit different. I don't know why.
- 20:13Speaker 1: These suckers maybe are evolving.
- 20:15Speaker 3: They're aggressive, and I.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Started doing some more digging, and I want to say,
- 20:20Speaker 1: I do not know.
- 20:21Speaker 2: If this is true, So make sure you understand that.
- 20:24Speaker 4: Okay, I did hear you know he's not a mosquitologist.
- 20:28Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right. That's actually pretty good.
- 20:32Speaker 1: You know the planes that spray the stuff for the mosquitoes.
- 20:36Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, because they've done some aerials, yeah, over here
- 20:39Speaker 4: in South Fargo.
- 20:40Speaker 2: And yeah, well.
- 20:41Speaker 1: I guess that they were potentially late this year because
- 20:45Speaker 1: the plane was like out of commission for a little bit,
- 20:48Speaker 1: and so they're trying to like play catch up with
- 20:51Speaker 1: the mosquitos. Once again, I don't that's allegedly allegedly the
- 20:56Speaker 1: plane was out of commission at the time. So but
- 21:00Speaker 1: Angie wants some help here. What can she do to
- 21:03Speaker 1: prevent mosquitos? She knows what to do with and the
- 21:06Speaker 1: bite's there. Yeah, how do we not get the bike?
- 21:08Speaker 4: How do I prevent this because I am struggling, like
- 21:12Speaker 4: I'm just shutting myself in my house. I cannot live
- 21:14Speaker 4: this way. The bug spray is not working. I need
- 21:17Speaker 4: a different plan of attack.
- 21:21Speaker 2: I love this show.
- 21:22Speaker 1: I got to see the second part of season two
- 21:24Speaker 1: when it's released in September.
- 21:26Speaker 2: They did the best and most.
- 21:28Speaker 1: Annoying thing ever where they give you like four episodes
- 21:31Speaker 1: then you gotta wait a month. There's something can do
- 21:33Speaker 1: that on Netflix quite a bit. They did that with
- 21:35Speaker 1: the show You.
- 21:36Speaker 3: Oh yeah, they did do that.
- 21:38Speaker 1: And the show I am talking about is Wednesday.
- 21:44Speaker 5: This is the first term you've ever willingly returned to
- 21:47Speaker 5: a school.
- 21:51Speaker 2: Like returning to the scene of the crime. I already
- 21:53Speaker 2: know where the bodies are buried. Ortega is wrong, Pod,
- 22:00Speaker 2: sorry about that.
- 22:01Speaker 1: Jenna Ortega is a fabulous as Wednesday.
- 22:05Speaker 3: Yeah, she is really good.
- 22:07Speaker 2: I was turning down the road, I'm like, why is
- 22:10Speaker 2: this so loud?
- 22:11Speaker 3: Why is it getting louder and louder?
- 22:12Speaker 1: Because she is a fabulous in the show. She is awesome.
- 22:16Speaker 1: I just I can't stop watching it. It's just fun.
- 22:21Speaker 5: It is.
- 22:21Speaker 3: It's really good.
- 22:22Speaker 4: It's one that I have not started the second season.
- 22:25Speaker 4: I think i'll do that this weekend because I'm trying
- 22:28Speaker 4: to go full Fall vibes in my home. But I
- 22:32Speaker 4: watched the first season with my kids and I Usually
- 22:35Speaker 4: there's not a lot of shows that we can watch
- 22:37Speaker 4: together because I'm kind of a like really conservative mom
- 22:42Speaker 4: on what I allow my kids to watch. But Wednesday
- 22:45Speaker 4: was one of those things. Even though there is like,
- 22:47Speaker 4: you know, murder and like creepy stuff, my kids were
- 22:50Speaker 4: okay with it. I was okay with it, and like
- 22:52Speaker 4: it is, it's a fun show and it is a
- 22:55Speaker 4: bit morbid, but not so morbid that you.
- 22:58Speaker 3: Can't have a good time with it.
- 23:00Speaker 4: So I'm with you, that's so funny that you that
- 23:02Speaker 4: would not be something that you were named too normally.
- 23:04Speaker 4: You just needed your wife to introduce it to you.
- 23:08Speaker 4: This is the situation that Mikey and I are in
- 23:10Speaker 4: right now, is that I'm a Bravo Hollick. So every
- 23:13Speaker 4: Bravo show is my jam, but I really love vander
- 23:17Speaker 4: Pump Rules is my jam.
- 23:21Speaker 3: And there it is.
- 23:24Speaker 4: Sheena Shea came out with a memoir and I gave
- 23:28Speaker 4: it a four out of ten. But on our road
- 23:30Speaker 4: trip to go to the wedding that we went to,
- 23:33Speaker 4: we listened on Spotify because I wasn't going to pay
- 23:37Speaker 4: Audible to listen to it.
- 23:38Speaker 3: I got it for free.
- 23:40Speaker 4: But we listened to Sena Chet's memoir and now Mike's like,
- 23:45Speaker 4: you know what, I think, I have to watch this show,
- 23:48Speaker 4: which is I mean music to my ears. So now
- 23:51Speaker 4: we're doing a vander Pump Rules. It's a rewatch for me,
- 23:55Speaker 4: but it's him watching for the first time, and it's
- 23:57Speaker 4: just so great that like he's now join in the
- 24:00Speaker 4: dark side of trashy reality TV.
- 24:03Speaker 2: So what is it?
- 24:05Speaker 3: It's a reality show.
- 24:06Speaker 2: I know what vander pum Rules even.
- 24:08Speaker 3: Is my gosh Okay, Gabe.
- 24:10Speaker 4: It's about a restaurant called SIR and that stands for
- 24:13Speaker 4: Sexy Unique Restaurant, and it's run by Lisa vander Pump
- 24:17Speaker 4: who was a real housewife of Beverly Hills, Okay, and
- 24:20Speaker 4: she runs this restaurant. She's a very classy British lady.
- 24:23Speaker 4: And everyone who works at the restaurant is just like
- 24:26Speaker 4: a smoking hot human who is waiting tables but then
- 24:31Speaker 4: is also a modeler, an actor, a singer on the side,
- 24:34Speaker 4: and then they have all this drama that ensues and
- 24:37Speaker 4: nothing makes me happier than hot people having problems.
- 24:41Speaker 1: So what is the show you are currently obsessed with?
- 24:46Speaker 1: Seven oh one two eight zero one eight seven one.
- 24:57Speaker 1: This was just so cool getting to see the NDSU
- 25:00Speaker 1: buys in on the national stage yesterday. If you didn't know,
- 25:04Speaker 1: ESPN made a little visit to Fargo and Matt Barry
- 25:08Speaker 1: from ESPN was here and we basically just got to
- 25:13Speaker 1: or at least FM Maria got to be highlighted on
- 25:16Speaker 1: the national stage.
- 25:17Speaker 6: Boy, you cannot find me a program anywhere in the
- 25:20Speaker 6: country that's as successful as North Dakota State, our fifty
- 25:24Speaker 6: state with fifty days contestant today they've dominated FCS.
- 25:28Speaker 2: Football for the last fifteen seasons.
- 25:30Speaker 1: And what was so cool is we have some coworkers
- 25:33Speaker 1: in the building who got to, you know, go over
- 25:35Speaker 1: to NDSU and see how sports Center was being made.
- 25:38Speaker 1: One of our coworkers, Andy, he had posted on Facebook
- 25:42Speaker 1: talking about getting to interview Matt Barry, who works for ESPN,
- 25:45Speaker 1: the guy you just heard a couple of seconds ago.
- 25:47Speaker 1: He got to watch how Sports Center was being made
- 25:50Speaker 1: and it was just cool for him to see NDSU
- 25:52Speaker 1: highlighted on the national stage. He ended it with not
- 25:55Speaker 1: too shabby for a Monday. Yeah, totally workday for those
- 26:01Speaker 1: guys over there. So very very fun and just awesome
- 26:04Speaker 1: for ESPN to make a stop here in Fargo. I
- 26:06Speaker 1: don't know if you know this about Angie or I
- 26:07Speaker 1: don't know if you know this about the Midwest, Angie,
- 26:10Speaker 1: but sometimes, and I don't want to speak for everyone,
- 26:13Speaker 1: but sometimes us Midwesterners we feel kind of like we were
- 26:15Speaker 1: forgotten about. You know, the flyover States. Oh okay, I
- 26:19Speaker 1: guess you know it's one of the biggest tourist attracted
- 26:21Speaker 1: places on Earth. Yeah, we tend to feel like we
- 26:24Speaker 1: get forgotten. So when ESPN makes a stop or a visit,
- 26:28Speaker 1: you know, we make a big deal of it.
- 26:29Speaker 4: This is major. And by the way, this is gonna
- 26:31Speaker 4: be my first like NDSU football season here, right, I'm
- 26:36Speaker 4: very excited. I do already have an NDSU like sleep
- 26:40Speaker 4: shirt that I wear to bed.
- 26:42Speaker 5: All right.
- 26:43Speaker 3: I want to be part of the fandom.
- 26:45Speaker 2: Good for you.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Well Sports Center going to fifty States and fifty days,
- 26:50Speaker 1: and yesterday the Bison were highlighted, which is awesome. The
- 26:54Speaker 1: world is full of nice people. If you can't find one,
- 26:57Speaker 1: you gotta be one.
