- 0:00Speaker 1: The Force will be with you always.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Hell hello, and welcome back to another episode of a
- 0:22Speaker 2: Star Wars Alliance. Of course, I'm your host, Clay and
- 0:26Speaker 2: with me for the very first Star Wars Alliance movie
- 0:33Speaker 2: review in six years. Guys, yeah years. It took us
- 0:42Speaker 2: six years to finally get a movie review. But we
- 0:46Speaker 2: are finally here. We are excited. Is Kate Katie is
- 0:50Speaker 2: here with me? Hi? Guys, we better? Yes, I was
- 0:56Speaker 2: gonna say, you definitely sound a lot better, a lot
- 1:00Speaker 2: better than you did this last episode. We are going
- 1:06Speaker 2: to be talking about the Mandalorian and Grogu movie review.
- 1:11Speaker 2: As the title says, now, we do have our traditional
- 1:16Speaker 2: non spoiler review. Now we said this in our last
- 1:20Speaker 2: episode when we did theories and predictions. Go ahead and
- 1:23Speaker 2: run it by you guys again. And I just noticed
- 1:25Speaker 2: by camera is tilted. That's weird. So we are going
- 1:32Speaker 2: to review this movie the exact same way we review
- 1:36Speaker 2: all of the Star Wars books. So that means that
- 1:41Speaker 2: we have a non spoiler section that we're talking about,
- 1:45Speaker 2: of course, the non specific portions of the story. We
- 1:50Speaker 2: are not going to give a letter grade or a
- 1:53Speaker 2: number grade to this movie because you will know how
- 1:58Speaker 2: we feel about the movie with the topics that we're
- 2:03Speaker 2: going to be talking about. In our opinions, we don't
- 2:06Speaker 2: feel that it needs to be justified by a number
- 2:09Speaker 2: or a letter. And with our thoughts, you can then
- 2:14Speaker 2: compile your own opinion on whether you should go see
- 2:18Speaker 2: the movie or not. If you haven't seen it already,
- 2:20Speaker 2: or if you have, you can agree or disagree with
- 2:22Speaker 2: it whatever we say.
- 2:25Speaker 3: So very simple with that statement. Yes, first impressions. So
- 2:32Speaker 3: Clay and I both saw this movie twice.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Guys.
- 2:35Speaker 3: Yes, so we saw it once yesterday to kind of
- 2:38Speaker 3: get the first impression reaction, and then today's showing was
- 2:42Speaker 3: like detailed thoughts review type things. So Clay walking out
- 2:48Speaker 3: of your theater yesterday, Well.
- 2:50Speaker 2: First, I am going to tell you the exact same
- 2:54Speaker 2: thing that I told the Geek Verse Star Wars chat
- 3:00Speaker 2: inside of the Geek First Discord, which, by the way,
- 3:03Speaker 2: go check out we are all in there. I simply
- 3:09Speaker 2: said this this is a two hour season. Uh. It
- 3:19Speaker 2: almost feels like Mowana too, where you can kind of
- 3:22Speaker 2: feel where each episode would have started in which where
- 3:26Speaker 2: every episode would have ended. It wasn't bad, it just
- 3:31Speaker 2: wasn't reinventing the wheel.
- 3:34Speaker 3: That is my that needed to be sorry where?
- 3:38Speaker 2: Yeah? But that that is this That like my thoughts
- 3:42Speaker 2: walking out of the movie on the because what I
- 3:46Speaker 2: told everybody was first viewing is Hey, I'm gonna sit
- 3:51Speaker 2: down and I'm going to enjoy myself. I'm going to
- 3:53Speaker 2: watch it just to enjoy a movie.
- 3:57Speaker 3: Yep.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Second viewing is where I sat in the corner of
- 4:03Speaker 2: the theater with my phone all the way brightness down,
- 4:08Speaker 2: taking notes after notes after notes, being critical of the
- 4:13Speaker 2: movie and everything else. So my more specific thoughts are
- 4:19Speaker 2: going to come later. But for those of you who
- 4:22Speaker 2: are actually watching, I do have a giant list of
- 4:27Speaker 2: notes that I took.
- 4:29Speaker 3: And I did too, I went pit and paper, but
- 4:33Speaker 3: two and a half pages. Yeah, so a lot of
- 4:38Speaker 3: that is because I couldn't see where I was writing,
- 4:42Speaker 3: so it kind of fell where it did on the page.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Makes sense for me.
- 4:49Speaker 3: First impressions, I really enjoyed myself. Could I see where
- 4:55Speaker 3: this was originally supposed to be a TV show and
- 4:59Speaker 3: they cut it together? Yes, you totally can. Doesn't matter
- 5:03Speaker 3: that I didn't still enjoy myself. I went, like I
- 5:06Speaker 3: told you guys on Wednesday, I went looking for family, fun,
- 5:09Speaker 3: adventure and That's exactly what I got. I didn't have
- 5:14Speaker 3: to worry too much about what else was going on.
- 5:18Speaker 3: You can step into this movie pure fresh. I told
- 5:22Speaker 3: my mom, because my mom asked me. I was like, yeah,
- 5:25Speaker 3: you don't have to see anything to go watch this,
- 5:27Speaker 3: like you're perfectly set up for that.
- 5:30Speaker 2: That is true. You do not have to watch any
- 5:33Speaker 2: of the previous seasons. I will say one thing that
- 5:40Speaker 2: we talked about was, Hey, this first viewing will be
- 5:45Speaker 2: a hey, is this family friendly enough to go take
- 5:49Speaker 2: our kids too? I can tell you right now, due
- 5:52Speaker 2: to the loud noises that Amberlyn absolutely despises and tiny
- 6:00Speaker 2: spoiler maybe two or three moments of suspense, I can
- 6:05Speaker 2: tell you I cannot take Amberlyn to watch this movie,
- 6:10Speaker 2: nor can she watch it when it first drops on Disney.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Plus she gets older, I think she will watch it eventually,
- 6:20Speaker 2: for sure.
- 6:20Speaker 3: I think I could show Mara like the there's like
- 6:23Speaker 3: a twenty minute segment that I think would be fine.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, I know exactly what you're talking about.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Greg is on the chat. Hello Greg uh.
- 6:33Speaker 3: Greg.
- 6:34Speaker 2: I will say that I believe before we get into
- 6:39Speaker 2: our spoiler talk and on this topic, I believe this
- 6:43Speaker 2: movie is for anybody, and it all it's all subjective
- 6:48Speaker 2: when it comes to parenting, that's totally up to you, guys.
- 6:51Speaker 2: I don't really care. But in my mind, seven years
- 6:56Speaker 2: old and older I think is quite possible the age
- 7:01Speaker 2: range where you can talk to your kid beforehand and
- 7:05Speaker 2: say like, hey, it's gonna be a little loud, there's
- 7:07Speaker 2: gonna be maybe one or two scary parts, yep. But
- 7:11Speaker 2: after that it should be a lot of fun like
- 7:14Speaker 2: in that like conversation, uh with with your children. But
- 7:19Speaker 2: like I said, my daughter is three years old. She
- 7:22Speaker 2: likes grogu But with what I saw, I'm not gonna
- 7:26Speaker 2: take her to see this movie.
- 7:29Speaker 3: I do think this movie's biggest failing is in the
- 7:33Speaker 3: choice of cinematographer. The cinematographer for Kenvin Smith's Clerks franchise,
- 7:40Speaker 3: this is not the movie he should have been the
- 7:43Speaker 3: cinematographer for. And I was like, because that was my
- 7:48Speaker 3: biggest thing yesterday. I was I was like, man, some
- 7:51Speaker 3: of these cuts are yanky, And I didn't know who
- 7:54Speaker 3: the cinematographer was. I couldn't remember, And so looking it
- 7:57Speaker 3: up right now, his biggest movie are Clerks Clerks Too, Yeah,
- 8:06Speaker 3: actually Chasing Amy.
- 8:09Speaker 2: Yeah, big Kevin Smith employee right there. Yeah, I I
- 8:17Speaker 2: can see it. Uh. There is a lot of not
- 8:23Speaker 2: legitimate talking heads in this movie, but there is a
- 8:27Speaker 2: lot of chest up shots, not a whole lot of
- 8:35Speaker 2: full body shots. And that is something that uh that
- 8:40Speaker 2: clerks and talking uh chasing Amy is is really big
- 8:45Speaker 2: at so that makes a lot of sense. Actually, another
- 8:51Speaker 2: non spoiler music we said this was the return of
- 8:55Speaker 2: uh Ludwig or Ludwig is it Ludwig or Lugwin? But
- 9:02Speaker 2: sounded great. I really enjoyed. There is a moment in
- 9:09Speaker 2: the like somewhat beginning of the film that is very
- 9:13Speaker 2: like very classic techno Japanese pop esque. Yeah, and it
- 9:24Speaker 2: really fits with the story and I dig it. I
- 9:29Speaker 2: dug that part of the of the music. Yeah, there
- 9:34Speaker 2: is one music portion that kind of took me out,
- 9:39Speaker 2: and we will talk about that because it does have
- 9:41Speaker 2: to deal with the third act. But yeah, other other
- 9:46Speaker 2: than that, I think the music did really great. What
- 9:49Speaker 2: about for you?
- 9:51Speaker 3: For me? I really loved the music. I love how
- 9:56Speaker 3: Ludwig kind of tailored his musical choices to each environment
- 10:02Speaker 3: that we were in, whether that was Adelphi, Nwahada and
- 10:08Speaker 3: Shikari and even Navarro almost to an extent. I think
- 10:13Speaker 3: all we know all four of those planets are in here,
- 10:16Speaker 3: so that's not a spoiler. But I really dug that
- 10:22Speaker 3: that he tailored each one like Chakari's a little more techno,
- 10:27Speaker 3: and then everything else kind of leans a little classical,
- 10:30Speaker 3: with like some outbeats in the key points. But very
- 10:35Speaker 3: good job. Greg says, yeah, I think Ludwig does a
- 10:41Speaker 3: great job with this franchise. Greg also said this movie
- 10:45Speaker 3: was fun, good, not great. It was a long episode
- 10:48Speaker 3: of the show and made me remember why I fell
- 10:50Speaker 3: off the series beginning of season three. I could totally
- 10:52Speaker 3: get that. Yeah, good, not great. I think this was
- 10:57Speaker 3: a great family, fun adventure that doesn't have a whole
- 10:59Speaker 3: lot of takes involved. At the end of the day,
- 11:10Speaker 3: it's very similar to like, to me, this is a
- 11:15Speaker 3: better movie than Solo in the stance that it stands
- 11:19Speaker 3: alone a little bit better and doesn't necessarily have all
- 11:24Speaker 3: of those things that you have to understand you get
- 11:28Speaker 3: where you're going with the opening crawl Pig quotes.
- 11:34Speaker 2: I was not gonna mention that yet because I that
- 11:36Speaker 2: is technically like somewhat spoilerish, But when it comes to
- 11:44Speaker 2: what you guys are talking about I am literally split
- 11:47Speaker 2: down the middle. There is the side of my brain
- 11:50Speaker 2: that says, hey, I know the Mandalorian is a like
- 12:01Speaker 2: like it feels like a what do they call it,
- 12:06Speaker 2: a company agent. That's like literally Mandalorian was was literally
- 12:12Speaker 2: created to just bring more family fun and not so
- 12:21Speaker 2: crazy with the lore. But of course it's gonna dabble
- 12:25Speaker 2: with it because of fullaw right, Like, I know that
- 12:29Speaker 2: that is the reason why Mandalorian was created. But of
- 12:32Speaker 2: course then you have the Star Wars fan in me.
- 12:36Speaker 2: One of my criterias of this movie was, hey, as
- 12:39Speaker 2: long as it moves the needle forward for the Star
- 12:42Speaker 2: Wars franchise moving the story forward, then we are a Okay,
- 12:47Speaker 2: I'm gonna go ahead and say spoiler. And this one
- 12:51Speaker 2: part of the conversation that needle for moving the Star
- 12:55Speaker 2: Wars franchise forward does not move.
- 12:59Speaker 3: I disagree with you there, but we will have to
- 13:03Speaker 3: talk about that more in depth than the spoiler.
- 13:06Speaker 2: Yes, yes, we will. Yeah, and Greg says for him himself,
- 13:11Speaker 2: no need to move here, Clay, So we will talk
- 13:16Speaker 2: about that. Another part of non spoiler that we wanted
- 13:21Speaker 2: to discuss, just like we do in all of our
- 13:23Speaker 2: book reviews representation. I have three points when it comes
- 13:29Speaker 2: to representation, so point number one zero representation for lg
- 13:40Speaker 2: LGBTQ plus qa. So that's a strike for us. It
- 13:47Speaker 2: also fails are alien representation because the only aliens that
- 13:55Speaker 2: we see are either bad guys or non verbal monsters.
- 14:06Speaker 2: We don't you like we have been a really big
- 14:09Speaker 2: proponent of, hey, we need to see more aliens in
- 14:13Speaker 2: the galaxy. When you look at the New Republic, they're
- 14:16Speaker 2: all humans. I'm not really big into that because it's
- 14:23Speaker 2: a giant galaxy.
- 14:25Speaker 3: Well, and I think it does do better at the
- 14:28Speaker 3: aliens being involved, because you're too like two of your
- 14:32Speaker 3: good guys. Here, you have zeb who is more of
- 14:35Speaker 3: a minor character but still have a lot of speaking roles.
- 14:39Speaker 2: And Roda yes.
- 14:43Speaker 3: And Roda kind of being I would say, almost like
- 14:45Speaker 3: the pro like the co protagonists here. So so the
- 14:54Speaker 3: I would agree with Greg.
- 14:55Speaker 2: I think there's Well, then you have Martin Scorcias's character,
- 15:05Speaker 2: which was on what was the planet called again, I
- 15:08Speaker 2: can't remember the planet's name.
- 15:09Speaker 3: It was just the moon of Chakari.
- 15:11Speaker 2: Chakari okay, yes, the moon of Shakari. And then I
- 15:17Speaker 2: don't remember anyone else other than the bad guy alien
- 15:25Speaker 2: that was working with Coin. So, but we are getting
- 15:32Speaker 2: into spoilers territory there. But another portion, and this is
- 15:39Speaker 2: something that is important to Abby when it comes to
- 15:43Speaker 2: pop culture and everything else. So I wanted to go
- 15:45Speaker 2: ahead and bring it up. Is the and I'm gonna
- 15:50Speaker 2: butcher this name Bechetel test test, Butcher Bechtel test, which
- 15:56Speaker 2: of course is the feminist test. It is basically, hey,
- 16:02Speaker 2: is this is there anywhere in this movie where two
- 16:05Speaker 2: female characters talk about anything that is not male related
- 16:10Speaker 2: and that does not happen?
- 16:13Speaker 3: Yeah, because your only a female character here is the.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Colonel Sigourney Weaver's character.
- 16:21Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, Ward, Colonel Ward.
- 16:24Speaker 2: Yes, So I wanted to go ahead and and put
- 16:29Speaker 2: that one down as well. Shout out to Abby. So
- 16:33Speaker 2: those were my key points when it came to representation.
- 16:36Speaker 2: Was there anything that you wanted to point out specifically?
- 16:41Speaker 3: Yeah, Greg, But the point is is that this is
- 16:44Speaker 3: for so Greg says, but male characters don't talk about
- 16:48Speaker 3: only male related things. The point is is that they're
- 16:51Speaker 3: not talking about a relationship basically. So that's the standard
- 16:54Speaker 3: in like romantic like especially older in time. So that's
- 16:59Speaker 3: the standard. And at this point I would have just said, hey,
- 17:04Speaker 3: is there two female characters talking to each other. There's
- 17:07Speaker 3: only one female character that has a speaking role. So
- 17:12Speaker 3: I did just one point out that even though they
- 17:15Speaker 3: didn't speak, a lot of the pilots on the Adelphi
- 17:20Speaker 3: base uh were diverse. They were being pulled a lot
- 17:23Speaker 3: from like producers and directors. So you saw like Deborah Chow,
- 17:30Speaker 3: Rick Fammi Yua.
- 17:32Speaker 2: It was the entire x wing fleet that was all
- 17:34Speaker 2: of the directors, which I thought was really funny. But
- 17:40Speaker 2: I did kind of harp on them as one of
- 17:43Speaker 2: my comments for like writing things down, so.
- 17:48Speaker 3: That doesn't bug me. I did appreciate that Deborah Chow
- 17:51Speaker 3: actually came back because I thought maybe she had had
- 17:54Speaker 3: a terrible experience after Obi.
- 17:55Speaker 2: Wan Kenobi, Afterbi. Yeah, but at least.
- 17:58Speaker 3: She came back, and like, maybe we'll see her again theoretically,
- 18:07Speaker 3: So general thoughts, non spoiler.
- 18:16Speaker 2: I think overall, like I said with with the comment
- 18:21Speaker 2: of this being a two hour show or a two
- 18:25Speaker 2: hour season of Mandalorian, it is a good time, not
- 18:35Speaker 2: a great time. It's not like again, as my comments said,
- 18:41Speaker 2: it's not reinventing the wheel it doesn't need to reinvent
- 18:44Speaker 2: the wheel. But I do think that this movie, like
- 18:49Speaker 2: it's a it's in a very awkward spot and I'm
- 18:53Speaker 2: I'm trying to understand the corporate mindset of saying, hey,
- 19:01Speaker 2: why put this so close? And I say so close?
- 19:06Speaker 2: And it really isn't time wise to what will be,
- 19:10Speaker 2: of course, Starfighter, because what you will end up getting
- 19:17Speaker 2: if Starfighter is this bombastic, amazing, blockbuster breaking record Star
- 19:26Speaker 2: Wars movie, You're gonna look and people are gonna say, oh, look,
- 19:32Speaker 2: Mandalorian couldn't even do this, you know, and especially like
- 19:40Speaker 2: when it's the new president of Lucasfilm's baby, you know. Yeah,
- 19:48Speaker 2: It's just it feels like a company just said, hey,
- 19:54Speaker 2: here's my blaster, let me point it at my foot.
- 19:59Speaker 3: I I think a. I agree with Greg. Greg says,
- 20:02Speaker 3: go goo money grab.
- 20:07Speaker 2: B.
- 20:08Speaker 3: I think too. It is a standard character at this
- 20:12Speaker 3: point where they can go, Okay, we're experimenting, trying to
- 20:14Speaker 3: put this here, and then if people are like, man,
- 20:19Speaker 3: this thinks, Man, this sucks, then potentially you go into
- 20:23Speaker 3: Starfighter with people having lower expectations and then it get
- 20:28Speaker 3: blown out of the water.
- 20:31Speaker 2: Potentially, yes, potentially, But I also feel like that kind
- 20:34Speaker 2: of makes them scared to go see another Star Wars movie.
- 20:39Speaker 2: And that's more so general audience. We all know, no
- 20:42Speaker 2: matter how many times somebody complains about a Star Wars movie,
- 20:46Speaker 2: if they're a Star Wars fan, they're gonna go and
- 20:48Speaker 2: they're gonna be one of the very first ones to
- 20:50Speaker 2: watch a Star Wars movie always. So just for me,
- 20:57Speaker 2: it just feels like, okay, like it's in a weird spot.
- 21:04Speaker 2: I do want to go ahead and make the comment
- 21:06Speaker 2: that European box office did underperform, so instead of being
- 21:13Speaker 2: one hundred and eighty five global that they projected is
- 21:19Speaker 2: now all the way down to one sixty five. That's
- 21:22Speaker 2: twenty million down.
- 21:24Speaker 3: So they hadn't predicted one hundred and eighty five million globally.
- 21:30Speaker 3: They had predicted eighty five million opening weekend. It was
- 21:35Speaker 3: one hundred for the US box office and then eighty
- 21:39Speaker 3: five million for global box office.
- 21:42Speaker 2: Okay, so yeah, yeah, but but together it was one
- 21:47Speaker 2: hundred and eighty five the Okay, I do what you're saying. Yes,
- 21:51Speaker 2: so the projections are now because of the underperformance of
- 21:57Speaker 2: the first two days. Again, we'll have the entire weekend, guys,
- 22:04Speaker 2: because of the underperformance of the first two days, they
- 22:08Speaker 2: are projecting that instead of eighty five, it will be
- 22:12Speaker 2: sixty five.
- 22:13Speaker 3: Yeah. And they had twelve million at the box office
- 22:16Speaker 3: for the US yesterday, so not great, not terrible. I
- 22:23Speaker 3: was telling Clayton my showing yesterday, our showings yesterday, we
- 22:26Speaker 3: both had ten people. Clay showing this morning you had,
- 22:29Speaker 3: you said you had four people.
- 22:31Speaker 2: Four Yeah.
- 22:32Speaker 3: Yeah. My showing at three forty this afternoon fully booked,
- 22:37Speaker 3: like everybody was there. I got the last seat available
- 22:40Speaker 3: at the at the screening, so I think it'll come
- 22:44Speaker 3: and go. Could this movie have done better on Disney Plus, Yes,
- 22:52Speaker 3: but it wouldn't have made as much money.
- 23:02Speaker 2: That is true. I at this point, which is crazy
- 23:07Speaker 2: to say, I do not believe that Mandalorian and Grogu
- 23:14Speaker 2: is a like uh subscription like producer, Like they aren't.
- 23:25Speaker 2: Nobody is creating a Disney Plus account or renewing a
- 23:32Speaker 2: Disney Plus account to watch Mandalorian.
- 23:36Speaker 3: I would agree, and I will say I do think
- 23:39Speaker 3: this was produced for a theater and like they specifically
- 23:45Speaker 3: filmed it a lot better than the Disney Plus shows.
- 23:47Speaker 3: Because you know how we have constantly talked about how
- 23:50Speaker 3: Disney plus or like any streaming service, you go to
- 23:54Speaker 3: a dark scene and it's like terribly hard to view. Yes, yes,
- 23:58Speaker 3: I agree, scene here phenomenal, like very well done.
- 24:03Speaker 2: So the two moments that I think you're talking about,
- 24:07Speaker 2: maybe even three. I saw everything crystal clear. Everything looked great.
- 24:14Speaker 2: I love the lighting, the coloring. Everything looked gorgeous when
- 24:20Speaker 2: it came to those moments. So I agree. I one
- 24:23Speaker 2: hundred percent agree with that.
- 24:26Speaker 3: And finishing up the box office talk, Greg says, now
- 24:30Speaker 3: people still go see Fast and Furious movies no matter
- 24:32Speaker 3: how crazy they are. Make the Star Wars movies that
- 24:35Speaker 3: will come, Yes, And I think people just need to
- 24:38Speaker 3: understand that the box office isn't going back to help
- 24:42Speaker 3: was before COVID one. We'll need to produce movies better
- 24:46Speaker 3: and recognize that, hey, if we can produce a movie
- 24:50Speaker 3: under one hundred million, that's great because at this point
- 24:53Speaker 3: you're still going to make profit. You're just not making
- 24:56Speaker 3: two billion dollars at the box office.
- 24:58Speaker 2: And also, I genuinely believe that today's studios need to
- 25:08Speaker 2: stop thinking with algorithms and go back to the classic
- 25:14Speaker 2: advertising because Disney, I used to say, was a marketing machine.
- 25:22Speaker 2: I do not believe that Disney is the marketing machine
- 25:26Speaker 2: that they once were. I think that the marketing for
- 25:31Speaker 2: Mandalorian Grogu itself was not as good as previous movies
- 25:39Speaker 2: that I have seen before, even for Star Wars movies,
- 25:43Speaker 2: like for Rise of Skywalker, regardless of how people felt
- 25:48Speaker 2: going into it or even afterward. I don't think Disney
- 25:53Speaker 2: is the marketing machine that it used to be because
- 25:55Speaker 2: they rely too much on algorithms now. That's just personally
- 26:01Speaker 2: how I feel.
- 26:07Speaker 3: I would say this was better marketed than the Star
- 26:11Speaker 3: Wars story films previously. I don't remember too much about
- 26:17Speaker 3: the Rise of Skywalker marketing, But then again, I'm not
- 26:22Speaker 3: on social media that often that much right now, so
- 26:28Speaker 3: I definitely feel like I saw the appropriate commercials at
- 26:32Speaker 3: the appropriate time. Like all the commercials all my streaming
- 26:35Speaker 3: stuff right now are Mandalorian and Grogriy related basically, Yeah,
- 26:39Speaker 3: So I it's hard to say.
- 26:43Speaker 2: Also because Mandalori and Grogu is technically marketed as a
- 26:49Speaker 2: family friendly movie. Having Scream as an advertised movie before
- 26:57Speaker 2: this movie is wild, Yeah, like not not Scream as
- 27:04Speaker 2: a scary movie. Not Scream scary movie, sorry, the parody
- 27:08Speaker 2: scary movie like having that movie like, uh advertised in
- 27:16Speaker 2: front of Mandalorian Grogu. I was like, that's wild. Like
- 27:22Speaker 2: even in my first showing there was only ten people,
- 27:24Speaker 2: but three of those people were children under ten years old. Yeah, okay, whatever,
- 27:32Speaker 2: but yeah, uh, is there anything else that you can
- 27:36Speaker 2: think of non spoiler you want to jump into before
- 27:42Speaker 2: we go?
- 27:43Speaker 3: I will to say this in the non sploit. This
- 27:49Speaker 3: is one of Jon Fava's worst directed films. I feel like,
- 27:53Speaker 3: I feel like he didn't do a lot of directing
- 27:56Speaker 3: in this. What do you feel with that?
- 27:58Speaker 2: So I saw a tweet that said, let me actually
- 28:02Speaker 2: grab it because it was in the geek verse. It's
- 28:06Speaker 2: literally right here. It says, oh my gosh, they did it.
- 28:15Speaker 2: He says, Jon Favreau really did it. He forgot how
- 28:18Speaker 2: to make a movie. And I will not say that yet.
- 28:29Speaker 2: He is making another Disney movie. He's making another Disney
- 28:37Speaker 2: movie that's based off of the I can't remember the
- 28:42Speaker 2: character's name, but like it was filmed at Disney World,
- 28:46Speaker 2: like and it's gonna.
- 28:48Speaker 3: Be the the Steamboat Mickey.
- 28:53Speaker 2: It's it's not Steamboat Willie, but it's like what the
- 28:56Speaker 2: Steamboat Willy was based off of or something like that.
- 28:58Speaker 2: I can't remember the character's name, but it's gonna be
- 29:02Speaker 2: half animation half live action. So let me see that
- 29:10Speaker 2: movie and then I will say, Okay, Jon Favreau, you
- 29:15Speaker 2: may want to go back to acting. Yes, again, he
- 29:23Speaker 2: was directing a two hour season of a show, So
- 29:29Speaker 2: with that in mind, I didn't feel like the directing
- 29:34Speaker 2: was too out of Oswald. Yes, right there, Thank you
- 29:38Speaker 2: so much, Oswald the Rabbit, Thank you so much. That's
- 29:42Speaker 2: that's the movie he is making. Okay, But again, with
- 29:46Speaker 2: the idea of this being a two hour season of
- 29:49Speaker 2: Mandalorian Grogu, I felt that as it was just a
- 29:54Speaker 2: TV show on the big screen.
- 29:57Speaker 3: Yeah, I just didn't feel like he was getting the
- 30:00Speaker 3: because he's directed episodes of The mandalor and he typically
- 30:03Speaker 3: directs the opening episode and.
- 30:06Speaker 2: The ending in the finale.
- 30:08Speaker 3: Yeah, and I just didn't feel like he was getting
- 30:11Speaker 3: the same performance. And maybe that's because Pedro Pascal was
- 30:16Speaker 3: in the suit a lot of the time in this
- 30:18Speaker 3: Like that's the report is that he was in the suit.
- 30:21Speaker 2: I was going to see if there was anything that
- 30:23Speaker 2: was saying that, because I felt that there was a
- 30:29Speaker 2: huge difference in performance of the body performance Yeah, between
- 30:35Speaker 2: what we know majority to be Wayne, Brendan Wayne, and
- 30:41Speaker 2: of course Pedro. So if that is the case, I
- 30:46Speaker 2: could definitely see it for sure.
- 30:48Speaker 3: Yeah, because Latif Crowder typically does the stunt work Bob
- 30:52Speaker 3: and Brendan Wayne is the body double for like most
- 30:57Speaker 3: of the performance. So you're right, we know this. This
- 31:03Speaker 3: is not a spoiler. It was in the trailer. He
- 31:04Speaker 3: got some screen time. He got some screen time. I
- 31:09Speaker 3: think that's the last thing I had that's non spoiler related.
- 31:13Speaker 2: Okay, so very first thing, the very first thing that
- 31:16Speaker 2: shows up in the movie.
- 31:19Speaker 3: Let's give blatant spoiler warning for the podcast people.
- 31:24Speaker 2: Thirty minutes and fifty seven seconds. Thirty one minutes now,
- 31:29Speaker 2: spoiler talk starts now. Okay, very first thing that shows
- 31:34Speaker 2: up in this movie is what you technically spoiled, the crawl.
- 31:41Speaker 2: I didn't need it. It was man, you either do
- 31:47Speaker 2: it or you don't.
- 31:48Speaker 3: That's what I'm like. I get it in this sense,
- 31:52Speaker 3: because you wanted to make it as friendly as possible
- 31:57Speaker 3: to where you didn't have to go watch the TV show.
- 32:00Speaker 3: I get it. I just wish because this crawl that
- 32:06Speaker 3: they are attempting to do in this sense looks.
- 32:10Speaker 2: Cheap, yes, very much. So it looks it looked and
- 32:16Speaker 2: felt like a high school presentation, like, Oh, this is
- 32:22Speaker 2: what I'm about to show you, here's the movie. And
- 32:26Speaker 2: so I literally have in my notes Mandalorian opening krawl
- 32:32Speaker 2: in quotation and then in parentheses I said, meh.
- 32:36Speaker 3: Yeah, I said fulk krawl.
- 32:43Speaker 2: So a lot of people and I don't know if
- 32:46Speaker 2: you actually watched this trailer, but on Star Wars Day
- 32:50Speaker 2: on May the fourth, okay, the scene that they shared
- 32:56Speaker 2: was when you were like, oh, they cut out the
- 32:59Speaker 2: part where you know Amando said this at the stroller.
- 33:04Speaker 2: His dialogue was just cropped somewhere else. It was when
- 33:08Speaker 2: he went on the walker in the beginning of the movie,
- 33:13Speaker 2: he said, oh, what are you waiting for, hop In?
- 33:17Speaker 2: And then they run down the mountain side to the
- 33:21Speaker 2: at eighties right, so that entire portion that he is
- 33:28Speaker 2: running down and then they start shooting at him, and
- 33:32Speaker 2: then when he jumps onto one of the legs, that's
- 33:35Speaker 2: the moment that the scene ends. For the TV spot
- 33:38Speaker 2: that they released on May the fourth, Okay, all of
- 33:42Speaker 2: the dialogue from that moment was what everybody was predicting, Oh,
- 33:48Speaker 2: if this is the entire movie I don't need to
- 33:51Speaker 2: see this movie. And I agreed in that portion, saying
- 33:58Speaker 2: the dialogue overall was kind of weak, like it was
- 34:02Speaker 2: very like cut and dry.
- 34:08Speaker 3: It's like they wanted to make a movie solely about Grogu,
- 34:12Speaker 3: but then didn't have the capability, so they needed other
- 34:15Speaker 3: characters involved, yes, to really make it work to where
- 34:23Speaker 3: it was a story about Grogu and Grogu's growth going forward.
- 34:29Speaker 3: I do think that Grogu moved forward in the story
- 34:33Speaker 3: and he learned a lot. So that's like the point
- 34:37Speaker 3: where I disagree with you, because when you were talking
- 34:39Speaker 3: about the needle moving forward, I thought you were specifically
- 34:42Speaker 3: talking about grogus story on Wednesday.
- 34:47Speaker 2: See no, no, no, no, I was talking about the story
- 34:50Speaker 2: of Star Wars. I because I separated the two. I said,
- 34:53Speaker 2: as long as there is character development and the story
- 34:58Speaker 2: of Star Wars moves forward. Because here's the other thing
- 35:02Speaker 2: we made predictions of or I did I know you
- 35:06Speaker 2: were kind of hesitant for it, and we did crack
- 35:09Speaker 2: some jokes about Ezra. I thought that we were going
- 35:15Speaker 2: to lead some breadcrumbs to Ahsoka season two. None.
- 35:23Speaker 3: Yeah, And see I didn't need that, like I.
- 35:28Speaker 2: Would have appreciated if it was one crumb something, because again,
- 35:35Speaker 2: this is a felony loves to play in a sandbox.
- 35:41Speaker 2: That sandbox is in a greater universe, and you are
- 35:46Speaker 2: playing in a story that is going forward. Okay, well,
- 35:52Speaker 2: we know that your story has to end at some
- 35:54Speaker 2: point because that other story has already come and gone
- 35:59Speaker 2: in the timeline. So we're going to reach a certain
- 36:03Speaker 2: point where we have to hit that and like it,
- 36:08Speaker 2: Like this truly feels like the O, which I should
- 36:14Speaker 2: be excited about, but because again my Star Wars fandom
- 36:17Speaker 2: brain is just like, hey, where is all the lore,
- 36:19Speaker 2: Where's all the connection connective tissue? Like this is truly
- 36:25Speaker 2: a Star Wars movie that is outside of the sandbus
- 36:28Speaker 2: but also inside.
- 36:31Speaker 3: Yeah, because it's very different from what we've experienced previously,
- 36:36Speaker 3: but then also just kind of like it is a
- 36:40Speaker 3: Star Wars story. I would also disagree with you on
- 36:44Speaker 3: the Star Wars story moving forward because I think this
- 36:48Speaker 3: explains why the huts aren't present in the sequel trilogy,
- 36:51Speaker 3: Like the huts are like completely demolished. Yeah, in this
- 36:56Speaker 3: and I specifically wrote down, I was like, which we
- 37:00Speaker 3: can continue to talk about this, or we can talk
- 37:02Speaker 3: about this later, but I was like, it would have
- 37:04Speaker 3: been too tropy for Roda to to go in and go,
- 37:09Speaker 3: you know what, I'm staying here. I'm gonna rebuild the
- 37:11Speaker 3: huts in a great way. No, He's like, I'm done.
- 37:14Speaker 3: I'm not doing any Yeah.
- 37:16Speaker 2: Right, So the.
- 37:18Speaker 3: Huts are in disarray, like all of the huts on now.
- 37:21Speaker 3: Hudda basically just got blown up.
- 37:24Speaker 2: Yeah, they they which also I did not really think
- 37:31Speaker 2: about the Hut family literally being stationed all in one place. Uh,
- 37:39Speaker 2: I'll be completely honest. When when Mando just started to
- 37:44Speaker 2: like walk through that place and was looking left and
- 37:47Speaker 2: right and they were all just like chilling, I was like,
- 37:50Speaker 2: what the world the entire clan is here? What's going on?
- 37:55Speaker 3: Yeah? Like, and there's huts other places probably, but this
- 38:00Speaker 3: is like the Hut royal family here.
- 38:05Speaker 2: Uh so okay eh, yeah, yeah I do want Because
- 38:12Speaker 2: Greg is also asking about this, I did put his
- 38:16Speaker 2: comment saying how did Grogu move forward? So talking going
- 38:21Speaker 2: back to the non spoiler section where Katie said, oh,
- 38:25Speaker 2: there's like a twenty minute section where my daughter could
- 38:27Speaker 2: possibly watch this. The moment where it's literally just Grogu
- 38:31Speaker 2: on screen for the majority of the time. Yea, there
- 38:33Speaker 2: is a good almost thirty minutes. I did time it
- 38:37Speaker 2: because I did actually put in my notes where every
- 38:44Speaker 2: episode would have started. Uh ah. So so there is
- 38:49Speaker 2: a scene where a or a large segment, like a
- 38:53Speaker 2: good twenty five to thirty minute segment of just Grogu
- 38:57Speaker 2: while Mando is down and out because of the poison,
- 39:02Speaker 2: and during that time you see him be independent. This
- 39:07Speaker 2: is literally the very first time we have ever seen
- 39:12Speaker 2: Grogu independent. There has been times where you see him
- 39:17Speaker 2: use his force powers by himself in the other seasons
- 39:21Speaker 2: of Mando, but it is out of desperation to help
- 39:25Speaker 2: Mando these times that he was actually training, meditating, finding
- 39:31Speaker 2: for himself, and Mando was all on his own fruition.
- 39:36Speaker 2: He was all doing it on his own, and that
- 39:40Speaker 2: shows growth that is important to him as a character.
- 39:46Speaker 2: Also No Order sixty six flashback.
- 39:51Speaker 3: No Order sixty six flashback. So that was interesting because
- 39:55Speaker 3: I think the one place you could have put it
- 39:56Speaker 3: would have been like while he was meditating, But I
- 39:58Speaker 3: do think that would have taken away from the moment
- 40:01Speaker 3: of hey, we're kind of exploring in this direction. Greg says,
- 40:07Speaker 3: did y'all notice the fisherman spoke like Yoda. I didn't
- 40:10Speaker 3: notice that.
- 40:11Speaker 2: It was literally only one time he said it. The
- 40:14Speaker 2: very first time when he actually speaks, he is like
- 40:18Speaker 2: slingshotting that frog.
- 40:21Speaker 3: Yeah, and.
- 40:23Speaker 2: He says something along the lines of something like oh,
- 40:30Speaker 2: you're the one that stole my fish, I think, or
- 40:36Speaker 2: like again, words all mixed around like Yoda. But it
- 40:40Speaker 2: was only that one time, and I was like, oh,
- 40:42Speaker 2: that's interesting. And then when he actually started talking to
- 40:45Speaker 2: Grogu again, when they were actually like sitting down while
- 40:48Speaker 2: Grogu was eating the fish, he was speaking in a
- 40:54Speaker 2: normal rhythmic.
- 41:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:01Speaker 2: So it was very odd.
- 41:03Speaker 3: Well, and that's probably why I didn't notice it, to
- 41:06Speaker 3: be honest, because both times I watched this, I jumped
- 41:09Speaker 3: when the frog eight Grogu. Oh oh. I was still
- 41:13Speaker 3: pumping down from the oh crap moment. So, uh, we'll
- 41:20Speaker 3: talk about the Anakin Grogu thing at the.
- 41:22Speaker 2: End, yes, because I I do have a question for
- 41:27Speaker 2: the end of the entire conversation. But some things that
- 41:33Speaker 2: I also wrote down here.
- 41:36Speaker 3: I agree with Sarah by the way that dragon Steak
- 41:39Speaker 3: was nightmare fuel.
- 41:43Speaker 2: That is the beginning of the or that the episode
- 41:53Speaker 2: four ends with the reveal of the dragon sneak.
- 41:56Speaker 3: Yeah, the giant pause right there. I did love that
- 42:01Speaker 3: fight though. That fight was so good.
- 42:04Speaker 2: Like I do appreciate, uh, the the choreography in this movie,
- 42:13Speaker 2: just like I did, you know, throughout all of Mandalorian,
- 42:17Speaker 2: I think that the choreography has always been a really good,
- 42:20Speaker 2: in stellar thing for the franchise.
- 42:23Speaker 3: The one time I had an issue with the fight
- 42:26Speaker 3: choreography was with the Frisbee disc bounty Hunter Dude, I
- 42:31Speaker 3: can't even remember his name, ohel Bell MBO. Yeah, I
- 42:39Speaker 3: that choreography. Man. I was struggling with so much of
- 42:43Speaker 3: those fights.
- 42:44Speaker 2: So Imbo's fight was where I didn't like the music.
- 42:49Speaker 2: The music felt too modern. It felt not Star Wars.
- 42:57Speaker 2: There was like this like it felt like genuinely when
- 43:01Speaker 2: listening to the music, it felt like, oh, this is
- 43:04Speaker 2: a boss fight. Here's the music in a boss fight
- 43:07Speaker 2: of a video game. So it took me out of
- 43:10Speaker 2: it a little bit.
- 43:12Speaker 3: See, the music was the one thing that kept me
- 43:14Speaker 3: in it because I was like, this fight is just
- 43:17Speaker 3: too like one two three one two three one, there's
- 43:21Speaker 3: no fluidity.
- 43:22Speaker 2: Well, and that was that was one of the other
- 43:24Speaker 2: gripes that I had about the final act the third
- 43:28Speaker 2: act was the fact that this movie was kind of
- 43:35Speaker 2: formulaic in a hey, point A to point B to
- 43:40Speaker 2: point See, that's all good and dandy, but oh, here's
- 43:45Speaker 2: the final boss fight. Like there there, it was way
- 43:49Speaker 2: too simple. The moment Mando woke up, it was just like, hey,
- 43:58Speaker 2: like guns blazeing, this is a shoot him up. Let's
- 44:02Speaker 2: just have fun with.
- 44:04Speaker 3: The Especially, how did you feel about Mando's take in
- 44:12Speaker 3: the beginning, going back to the beginning, where he is like, yeah, man,
- 44:17Speaker 3: fighting is a last resort, Like, yeah, I didn't know
- 44:23Speaker 3: how I felt about that, because everything he does is
- 44:29Speaker 3: fight basically.
- 44:30Speaker 2: Yeah. His character development is very odd when you consider
- 44:36Speaker 2: the other three seasons of his character. The ending of
- 44:43Speaker 2: season three, he is a father, you know, he is
- 44:47Speaker 2: taking care of Krogu, and then here he makes the
- 44:52Speaker 2: comment about fighting. But then he gets his ass kicked
- 44:58Speaker 2: and they purposely tell him, oh, I have shamed you
- 45:01Speaker 2: for all eternity because we got to see your face,
- 45:04Speaker 2: and it triggers him. This man is an occult people.
- 45:09Speaker 2: You need to understand that he got a little heated.
- 45:12Speaker 2: He got a little heated because you know, they broke
- 45:15Speaker 2: a rule of his cult. And then he wanted to
- 45:18Speaker 2: go on a murder spree, like yeah, that's just the
- 45:21Speaker 2: way it is. But I like one thing that I
- 45:25Speaker 2: did not like in Mando's character, the heel comment that
- 45:31Speaker 2: he kept throwing at Krogon, And it was, yeah, because.
- 45:35Speaker 3: He kept treating him like a dog basically, And I
- 45:39Speaker 3: don't know, like I kind of threw it off as
- 45:42Speaker 3: like a, Okay, he's just using basic commands to try
- 45:47Speaker 3: and like because he's still a kid at heart, right,
- 45:51Speaker 3: so like you tell your kid no, like they're not
- 45:54Speaker 3: going to listen, so you try to throw something else
- 45:56Speaker 3: out there that will force them to pay attention. And yes,
- 45:59Speaker 3: and that was have a negative connotation, and.
- 46:01Speaker 2: I knew that somebody either in the chat or you
- 46:04Speaker 2: or somebody else would tried and and throw this at me.
- 46:07Speaker 2: That is true, trust me. Amber Lynn gets farah as
- 46:11Speaker 2: hell sometimes and I'm just like, hey, hey, hey, you know,
- 46:14Speaker 2: it's like taming an animal. I understand that. But with
- 46:18Speaker 2: the type of relationship that we saw at the very
- 46:22Speaker 2: end of season three going into this movie, and then
- 46:30Speaker 2: you see him make those choices and say those things,
- 46:33Speaker 2: it just feels weird. But then of course you have but.
- 46:38Speaker 3: That's also coming from you as a person who knows
- 46:40Speaker 3: that those are dog commands on Earth, like, yes, we've
- 46:45Speaker 3: never seen those used in Star Wars. Yes, true, it's
- 46:52Speaker 3: why they should have cut Croc who out.
- 46:54Speaker 2: Well, like, because here's the other thing. Here's the other thing,
- 46:57Speaker 2: Greg And I will say, I will say this the
- 47:05Speaker 2: the humor. One comment that I made on my notes
- 47:10Speaker 2: is Star Wars humor is Star Wars humor, and it's
- 47:15Speaker 2: here to stay. And I will say new, we're Star
- 47:19Speaker 2: Wars humor because people say, oh, Star Wars has always
- 47:24Speaker 2: had humor. Yes, that humor has dramatically changed from the
- 47:29Speaker 2: original trilogy to the prequel trilogy, to the sequel trilogy
- 47:34Speaker 2: to now it is very new. But the moment all
- 47:40Speaker 2: of those charges were going off at the very beginning
- 47:42Speaker 2: of the movie and Grogu started to like tap on
- 47:45Speaker 2: Maddow's helmet, I chuckled, it was funny. I'm okay with
- 47:51Speaker 2: grogu humor because he is nonverbal. He has to do
- 47:56Speaker 2: things to like get his like his his thoughts across,
- 48:02Speaker 2: so that I actually really laughed at. I thought that
- 48:05Speaker 2: was genius. It was fun. The other like, and I
- 48:17Speaker 2: think a lot of Grogu's non verbal verbal things like
- 48:24Speaker 2: when he like screams when he jumps out of the frog.
- 48:28Speaker 2: I chuckled the humor of oh my gosh, the ship
- 48:34Speaker 2: that he had to ride in to go find Mando.
- 48:39Speaker 2: What what is that species? Yes, the end zelens that
- 48:45Speaker 2: that ship is hilarious. The fact that you see it
- 48:47Speaker 2: flight into space and you're like, that's a huge ship,
- 48:50Speaker 2: and then you actually see them inside the cockpit and
- 48:53Speaker 2: they're all just like squashed hilarious. I think it's very
- 48:58Speaker 2: funny humor.
- 48:59Speaker 3: And it was to show too that while Grogu has
- 49:03Speaker 3: matured to an extent where he can handle some of
- 49:05Speaker 3: these things, if he'd really thought about it, he would
- 49:10Speaker 3: have realized, hey, we need to take we need to
- 49:13Speaker 3: take our ship because he's not going to be able
- 49:15Speaker 3: to fit in this ship.
- 49:17Speaker 2: So yeah, comment overall for the for the action, and
- 49:25Speaker 2: I want to.
- 49:25Speaker 3: Know if this is a wait before you jump into
- 49:29Speaker 3: that because I cut out. I am having a storm
- 49:32Speaker 3: right now, guys, So I'm kind of cutting in and
- 49:34Speaker 3: out sometimes, So I do apologize about that.
- 49:38Speaker 2: I am seeing your comments on the side, so you
- 49:40Speaker 2: should be good to go.
- 49:41Speaker 3: Okay, cool, I'm trying to mark them for you.
- 49:44Speaker 2: Yeah, So I also want to acknowledge the chat here
- 49:49Speaker 2: for a second. That guy be saying I just saw
- 49:51Speaker 2: them as simple commands for a quick course of course
- 49:54Speaker 2: correction as far as grogu and then Greg saying I've
- 49:59Speaker 2: got a bad feeling about this. Uh, to blue cookies
- 50:03Speaker 2: is a long stretch? Did that? That line is famously
- 50:09Speaker 2: in every Star Wars project. I didn't hear it was
- 50:11Speaker 2: that line in the movie. No, I don't mean so,
- 50:16Speaker 2: I don't remember it being in the movie because I
- 50:20Speaker 2: always I always make the comment like whenever it shows up,
- 50:24Speaker 2: I always write it down. It's like, oh there, it's
- 50:26Speaker 2: it is like the it needs to be in there.
- 50:30Speaker 3: Oh just meant in humor. In humor, yeah, uh. And
- 50:38Speaker 3: I think that's because people right now especially want to
- 50:42Speaker 3: be able to laugh very easily at things with just
- 50:46Speaker 3: the way the world is right now. So I don't
- 50:49Speaker 3: mind that there's extra humor involved in things the well,
- 50:53Speaker 3: what are you waiting for? Come on, hop on to
- 50:56Speaker 3: the blue cookies, Like okay, we're saving the rest of
- 50:58Speaker 3: these for dinner.
- 51:00Speaker 4: Like grow the Force push, Yeah, the the I caggled
- 51:08Speaker 4: every helmet, cave the cave, it.
- 51:12Speaker 2: Got, It got everybody in my theater it got me
- 51:16Speaker 2: the first time, it didn't get me the second time,
- 51:19Speaker 2: but it got everybody help.
- 51:22Speaker 3: Like I remember that growing up where you're like, Okay,
- 51:25Speaker 3: if I just shove it a little harder, it'll go
- 51:28Speaker 3: in there and it'll fit. Like so I totally related that,
- 51:33Speaker 3: And maybe that's just me as the older child who
- 51:35Speaker 3: just wanted to not do anything. It just was like, Okay,
- 51:39Speaker 3: we're all gonna shove it at the closet.
- 51:41Speaker 2: So I I got two questions for you. Okay, first question,
- 51:47Speaker 2: and this might be a hot take, so I don't
- 51:49Speaker 2: know how the chat is going to feel about this.
- 51:52Speaker 2: I made the comment all of the action felt like fluff.
- 52:02Speaker 2: Like the only action for me that felt necessary and
- 52:09Speaker 2: I put necessary in quotes is the stadium fight. The
- 52:14Speaker 2: stadium fight, not what happens after in the city stadium fight,
- 52:19Speaker 2: then the extraction of coin, and then the firefight at
- 52:27Speaker 2: the third act, not the firefight that takes place in
- 52:33Speaker 2: the extraction of Coin.
- 52:46Speaker 3: I just I just loved it. I loved all the
- 52:50Speaker 3: action pieces except for the inbo fight. I And again,
- 52:56Speaker 3: like I feel like with a family fund adventure, especially nowadays,
- 53:00Speaker 3: is going to be those fight sequences that happen. So
- 53:06Speaker 3: are they fluff? Is the entire movie fluff?
- 53:09Speaker 2: Like yes, question mark yes? So so that is more
- 53:15Speaker 2: of just like a hey, you know whatever question. My
- 53:18Speaker 2: second question, how do the twins know Grogu's name?
- 53:27Speaker 3: Did they say his name?
- 53:29Speaker 2: Yes? And I have a theory which makes it a
- 53:33Speaker 2: little bit more fun, but also it doesn't make it
- 53:35Speaker 2: It doesn't make it fun anymore because they're dead now. See.
- 53:41Speaker 3: This is also why I was like, it moves the
- 53:42Speaker 3: story forward because they specifically state your little green friend,
- 53:47Speaker 3: so they called him forever.
- 53:50Speaker 2: They they say little green friend, and then they say
- 53:54Speaker 2: they say his name, they say Grogu. Okay, they say Grogu.
- 53:59Speaker 2: Does this imply that the Huts were involved in the
- 54:05Speaker 2: stealing of Grogu?
- 54:07Speaker 3: Do you Yeah? I could totally see that because.
- 54:14Speaker 2: I have built it more so in my second viewing.
- 54:17Speaker 2: My first viewing, I was like, okay, how do they
- 54:19Speaker 2: know his name? And then the second time I watched it,
- 54:21Speaker 2: I was like, oh shit, because the comment is, oh,
- 54:26Speaker 2: huts live for a very long time, so does your
- 54:28Speaker 2: little green friend. Grogu will live on forever and you
- 54:32Speaker 2: will die, And I was like, holy shit, hold on, Yeah,
- 54:38Speaker 2: there is a good chance this means that the Huts
- 54:40Speaker 2: were involved in the relocating of Grogu during the time.
- 54:45Speaker 2: I can totally see that back and everything.
- 54:47Speaker 3: Else, because especially in the legends, like the syndicates and
- 54:54Speaker 3: stuff all helped like the Jedi, like you like that
- 54:58Speaker 3: was like the underground for Jedi kind of thing was
- 55:04Speaker 3: to like help them get away and stuff. So I
- 55:05Speaker 3: feel like the Huts being involved somehow in Grogu like
- 55:11Speaker 3: trying to escape and then turning him over to the Empire,
- 55:14Speaker 3: I think that's fully legit. Yeah, Greg Gregor grees.
- 55:18Speaker 2: And Greg says it's I think it's to imply how
- 55:20Speaker 2: much the Huts now And this is in the same
- 55:25Speaker 2: space of what my theory was, because like even if
- 55:28Speaker 2: they weren't involved, they have ears everywhere, you know. Yeah,
- 55:34Speaker 2: And so I think that is very very.
- 55:36Speaker 3: Fun because I think while Felony and Favro have chosen
- 55:42Speaker 3: to leave the species of Grogu and Yoda like unknown,
- 55:51Speaker 3: and like originally people were like, oh, okay, so we're
- 55:54Speaker 3: going to return him to his home planet with his
- 55:55Speaker 3: own species was the goal, and then kind of sovic
- 56:00Speaker 3: and it's like, oh, return them to the Jedi. Like
- 56:04Speaker 3: I still think people are curious, like what is the species,
- 56:09Speaker 3: like where are they from? Like, and maybe not the
- 56:13Speaker 3: general audience, but I think Star Wars fandom people are like, yeah,
- 56:19Speaker 3: but I want to know more, like why has every
- 56:23Speaker 3: member of Yoda's species that we've seen been for sensitive.
- 56:34Speaker 2: One thing that we haven't talked about, which is actually
- 56:37Speaker 2: plays a small part in the plot of the movie,
- 56:41Speaker 2: a little bit more of a plot device, the return
- 56:45Speaker 2: of the star Crest. How did you feel about It's
- 56:52Speaker 2: not the star Crest, but it's a star Crest with
- 56:56Speaker 2: modifications that immediately rip apart, He asked zeb to rip apart?
- 57:03Speaker 2: How do you feel about it?
- 57:05Speaker 3: It wasn't modified already, it was stock ed, so he
- 57:09Speaker 3: was trying to get around.
- 57:11Speaker 2: Yeah. And also, there is a Marvel Easter Egg in
- 57:19Speaker 2: this movie. Oh and I don't think I don't think
- 57:21Speaker 2: anybody caught it because there is a long list of
- 57:27Speaker 2: Easter eggs that I have seen multiple accounts online talk
- 57:31Speaker 2: about in articles, and nobody has mentioned the one Easter
- 57:35Speaker 2: egg that I clear as Crystal saw on both viewings.
- 57:41Speaker 3: Accually star Wars Easter egg too. Yeah, that's there's a
- 57:44Speaker 3: lot of Star Wars Easter eggs.
- 57:45Speaker 2: There is a lot of Star Wars easter eggs, but
- 57:47Speaker 2: there is there is one Marvel because it of course
- 57:51Speaker 2: has to deal with John Bavreau. When Man and Grogu
- 57:56Speaker 2: are modifying the Star Crest, Grow helps Mando grab something
- 58:03Speaker 2: from the top of the star Crest and when he
- 58:06Speaker 2: throws it to him, it's Tony Stark's proof of a heart.
- 58:12Speaker 2: He he throws it to him and it like it's
- 58:15Speaker 2: a blink and you miss it moment, but you can
- 58:18Speaker 2: literally see the circle of the Oh crap, what is
- 58:26Speaker 2: the thing called in the arc reactor? The arc reactor.
- 58:29Speaker 2: You can literally see the circle of the Arc reactor
- 58:31Speaker 2: and you can literally see the wording kay proof of
- 58:36Speaker 2: Tony Stark's Heart. But again, it is such a blink
- 58:40Speaker 2: and you missed it, And of course they shrunk it
- 58:43Speaker 2: because of how small it needs to be compared to
- 58:45Speaker 2: Grogu and Mando for a small piece on the ship.
- 58:49Speaker 2: He just tosses it to him really quick.
- 58:51Speaker 3: I thought it looked like an arc reactor. I didn't
- 58:55Speaker 3: see the words, but I'm also blind even with my contacts, so.
- 58:59Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's a it's a very very quick blink
- 59:03Speaker 2: and you miss it. Easter egg, which I thought was
- 59:05Speaker 2: really really cool. So I'm trying to think of anything
- 59:12Speaker 2: specific because again, there's the one last question that I
- 59:15Speaker 2: want to ask you, but I don't know if we're there.
- 59:17Speaker 3: Yeah, so the Dajarek battle. Uh, yes, yes, I liked
- 59:23Speaker 3: how that played into things. I wouldn't necessarily consider that
- 59:25Speaker 3: an Easter egg. Maybe that's just me though, because it
- 59:30Speaker 3: plays the main part. It's not like in the background.
- 59:32Speaker 3: I always consider Easter eggs to be like in the well.
- 59:35Speaker 2: More so it's an Easter egg because a lot of
- 59:38Speaker 2: people don't know what Dajark is and we've only really
- 59:41Speaker 2: seen it as a uh hologram board game, and so
- 59:47Speaker 2: seeing it in real life could be a little bit
- 59:52Speaker 2: of an Easter Egg. So I thought that was cool.
- 59:56Speaker 3: Where did that cut out?
- 59:59Speaker 2: I a little glitch in your in your camera? Uh,
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: maybe less than two minutes ago.
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: Well what was I saying when I cut out?
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: Uh? You were saying that you did not see that
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: as a like Easter egg because it's like a plot device. Yeah.
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: I always consider Easter ags to be like in the
- 1:00:22Speaker 3: background of things. Yes, So that's that's my opinion. Though,
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: if you want to consider any strig, I think that's fine. Sorry, guys,
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: this is I don't know why.
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: So did you not hear anything of that? I said, no,
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: Oh shit, Okay, So what I was saying was that
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: it may be considered a Easter Egg because the only
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: place we have seen it as a general audience is
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: the fact that it's a hologram board game and we
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: actually got to see it in live action. So that
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: might be why it's a little bit of an Easter Egg. Yeah, so, uh,
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: there's that. There was also oh shoot, what was the
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: other Easter Egg that there was quite a a well,
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: it's not an Easter Egg. They brought back the classic
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: I can bring you hot, I Can bring you in cold. Yeah,
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: didn't really hit his is hard that as I wanted
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: it to, and it did feel like, hey, we just
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: have to throw this in here because it is Mando. Yeah,
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: but it does play off of, of course, what zeb
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: says in the very beginning of the movie. Hey, if
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: you bring them in a live it's a lot easier
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: to question them, you know. Yeah, so I can I
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: can understand like, hey, he's now giving them a fair warning.
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: That's cool.
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: Yeah, Craig says first line of the series.
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: Right, yep, very first line of the series.
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: So going back to the beginning of the film, because
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: this was also something different than the film shows to
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: do the opening credits. We've never seen actors credited at
- 1:02:05Speaker 3: the beginning of a Star Wars movie before, and like, no,
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: we had, like Matt called it the top gun credits
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: with all of the ships coming in and like, yeah,
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: Alfi and stuff. That did bug me. I think it
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: just goes to show that it's also different too.
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: Yeah. I like they truly treated this as a non
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: a non Star Wars movie within the Star Wars universe,
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: which I think will help it a little bit, but
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: it will also I think again to shoot them in
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: a foot just a little bit. Yeah, so we'll see
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: how it goes. I do want to go ahead in
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: and because I did write them all, I do want
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: to write or say. The first episode would have ended
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: when Mando is knocked out in the attempt to convince
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: Roda to leave.
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: Why didn't he pressurize his helmet?
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: I I don't know. I don't know. That's when the
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: first episode would have ended. Second episode would have ended
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: when Mando, Roda, and zeb are looking at Coin's estate.
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: The third episode would have ended when Roda gets picked
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: up by the gun Runner at Mando's house. Fourth episode
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: would have ended with the reveal of the dragon snake.
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: Fifth episode ends with Mando waking up and the reveal
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: of the gun Runner ship with Grogu.
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: The gun runnership felt too overgrown.
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: By the way, Yes, when when you see him walking
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: up the ramp and you just see all of the
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: vine just like just completely surrounding, I was like, nah,
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: it's literally been two days, like chill out now. The
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: only way I could say maybe is because of the
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: reaction of the bugs. Yeah, you know, it felt more
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: so that like that forest was alive, like my god.
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: Yeah, and I thought the bugs were all coming to
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: help Grogu, like get Mando to him, like Grogu had
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: actually summoned the bugs. The third jump scare. So the
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: first was like the rat, the second, yeah, the bugs
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: or no. The second was no, the second was the bugs,
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: and then the third was the frog. So like, and
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: there was a guy in my theater this afternoon who
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: also jumped, so that made me feel a little bit better.
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: It was like, holy crap, that so loud loud.
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: But I also saw this only as a six episode
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: season because the fifth episode ends with of course Amanda
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: waking up, uh and the real of the gun runnership,
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: and then the entire last thirty minutes of the film
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: would be the finale.
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: That's too long. That's too long fight episode of Men Laurin.
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: You know you gotta be twenty three minutes.
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: Well that's that's my literal comment. Right after season or
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: season finale is every episode will probably have to be
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: cropped at least five minutes. So uh, breakdowns check out
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: good call. Yeah, Like I legit because again when my
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: first the first viewing on Thursday, I was like, this
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: just felt like the show, and I was like, if
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: I can break it down, I was like, I don't
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: know if I could break it down to eight episodes,
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: because the episodes would be too short if it was eight,
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: So let's do six. And so when I checked out everything,
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: I was like, yeah, this feels right, this feels like everything.
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: Because again, when it comes to your twenty three minutes,
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: you also have to include the intro and then credits
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: for each episode. So that's why I was able to
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: play around with a little bit of where each episode
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: would have started and ended. The other notes that I
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: have here, there's some nitpicky stuff. I felt like there
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: was inconsistencies with the water depth when dealing with Mando
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: in the pit. That was annoying to me that there
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: were some parts that were really shallow and then some
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: parts that were very deep.
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: I see, but I think that's like all lakes though.
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: Have you ever swam in a lake?
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: Uh when I was a kid not.
- 1:07:14Speaker 3: There's like really deep parts and then there's shallow parts,
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: and it just all kind of depends. Like my dad's
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: boat had a censor.
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: On it for well, for the depth water depth. Yeah, okay,
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: uh okay. So so I saw Craig, I saw Greg
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: mention this before, and so he's bringing it up again.
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: Force healing. As soon as the first frame showed Mando's wound,
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: I immediately thought force healing.
- 1:07:52Speaker 3: But they didn't cheat with that because he healed them,
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: but then he still couldn't heal the poison.
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: Because he And that is and that is why I
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: will disagree with with Greg, because the only time we
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: see the force healing is with Grogu as of right now,
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: other than of course, with Ray and Rise of Skywalker.
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: But it was literally two times with Grogu. It was
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: season one of Mandalorian Grogu and now season four slash
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: the movie and that's the only time, so I can't
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: say that they are leaning on that gimmick quote unquote.
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: But doesn't force healing feel like cheating? I don't think.
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: Like you can't say that for a force user because
- 1:08:44Speaker 2: then you would say, oh, using the forces cheating.
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: Yeah. And I feel like in any magic system, you
- 1:08:50Speaker 3: have a healer who can heal people faster, and so
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: at the end of the day, other systems do it,
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: and so they kind of just said, Okay, you know what,
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: if other people can do it, why not I think Greg,
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: I think the problem so Greg says a thousand years
- 1:09:08Speaker 3: of Jedi, but and nobody but Ray and Grogu can
- 1:09:11Speaker 3: do it. I think A Obviously your problem is it
- 1:09:14Speaker 3: wasn't introduced until Mandalorian B. I think that you just
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: haven't seen a story deep enough to get it there,
- 1:09:26Speaker 3: because I do feel like it was used in the
- 1:09:30Speaker 3: High Republic to some extent.
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: Yes, well, and that's that's why I wanted to use
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: a small little correction in your verbiage of being introduced.
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: Force healing in Cannon has not been visually introduced until
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: grow Goo. There has been force healing in books, in
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: video games and a lot of other Star Wars French
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: or Star Wars pieces of ip.
- 1:09:58Speaker 3: Or or or.
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: Is that the right phrasing either way? But we've seen
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: force healing before, but in Star Wars canon didn't really
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: become a thing until Grogu. I think it is is
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: it a poor way of like? Just honestly what it is, Greg,
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: It is a hey like because we haven't been pushing
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: out all of the Star Wars content. This is where
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: you're gonna see it, because I believe if there was
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: more Star Wars content, you would probably see a lot
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: more of it. And who's to say that in the
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: next trilogy or whatever they decide to do for the
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: episodic movies for Star Wars, if they decided to come
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: back with episodic titles. Is because the assumption is that
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: there's going to be a whole new Council, there's going
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: to be a resurgence of the Jedi and everything else.
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: Maybe we will see a lot more of it, but
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: until then, these are your moments that you do see it.
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: So and Greg, I think a lot. I don't know
- 1:11:15Speaker 3: if you've read any of the New Republic forward Star
- 1:11:22Speaker 3: Wars books and the Legends collection, But there's a lot
- 1:11:28Speaker 3: of force healing in Legends, like we would just on
- 1:11:32Speaker 3: our Patreon we just did Starbuys Star Review, which is
- 1:11:34Speaker 3: a part of the New Jedi Order, which there's a
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: specific Force healer set along open people up and use
- 1:11:44Speaker 3: the force to heal their organs and stuff. So there's
- 1:11:46Speaker 3: a Legends connection there. I don't know if a lot
- 1:11:49Speaker 3: of Old Republic stuff has it. I read it, I
- 1:11:52Speaker 3: don't really remember a whole lot Besides Bain, I don't
- 1:11:55Speaker 3: think Bain had force healing. Cain like came.
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: Maybe force healing was more of in the Old Republic,
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: especially with the Knights of the Old Public video game,
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: Force healing was seen more so as a Jedi power
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: when they separate. You know how we talked about in
- 1:12:16Speaker 2: our Patreon conversations about what is seen as a dark
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: side power versus a light side power. Force healing was
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: more seen more as a light side power, and so.
- 1:12:29Speaker 3: Greg, I couldn't remember if you read High Republic, which
- 1:12:31Speaker 3: is why I was referencing Legends, because I feel like
- 1:12:34Speaker 3: most of the force healing in Cannon books right now
- 1:12:39Speaker 3: is in the Higher Republic, simply because we haven't had
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: a lot of Jedi books otherwise, because like you have
- 1:12:48Speaker 3: like some of like the like Brotherhood and Padawan, but
- 1:12:52Speaker 3: I don't think they were ever trained in that, especially
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: olbi Wan to really use that, So I don't think
- 1:13:01Speaker 3: like prequel era of books would have it, so High
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: Republic would really be your only canon reference, I feel like,
- 1:13:09Speaker 3: and then the New Republic books in Legends, so you
- 1:13:14Speaker 3: would have like Luke with his Jedi Academy, and then
- 1:13:18Speaker 3: the New Jedi Order and moving forward past that, like
- 1:13:21Speaker 3: you got full blown like force trances where people could
- 1:13:24Speaker 3: go in and force heal their own bodies if they
- 1:13:26Speaker 3: were in the trance long enough.
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: So yeah, yeah, I'm trying to think of something else here.
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: Do you have any other points on your notes that
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: you would like to bring up.
- 1:13:42Speaker 3: I really think zeb looks very good in the movie.
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: I appreciate his CGI and mocap because the way it's
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: a very subtle thing, but even the way he walks
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: is almost identical hole to the way he walks in
- 1:14:01Speaker 2: the anime in the animated arms Bounce and everything, it
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: looked really really good.
- 1:14:10Speaker 3: And his uh cultural staff weapon love that. I loved
- 1:14:16Speaker 3: Roda and Grogu's relationship.
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: Yes, and I thought that was So does this mean
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: that that grogu' is just going to grow up to
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: be like this huge stacked individuals He now thinks of
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: Rooda as a as a role model. It's like, that's
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: who I want to be when I grow up.
- 1:14:40Speaker 3: Every time I looked at Rooda, I did appreciate how
- 1:14:43Speaker 3: much emotion was in Rooda's face, Like you got a
- 1:14:46Speaker 3: lot of emotion in Rhoda's face. But every time I
- 1:14:49Speaker 3: looked at him, I just see my nephew walking around
- 1:14:52Speaker 3: like this.
- 1:14:55Speaker 2: Well okay, And also I think that Disney and Lucasfilm
- 1:15:01Speaker 2: did a really poor job in marketing with Roda. Yeah,
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: I don't think they should have showed him the beginning
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: of the movie when the twins say, oh, this is
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: the only photo we have of him, and they show
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: a literal baby like okay, cool. But then of course
- 1:15:33Speaker 2: you also see when they're actually on the moon and
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: you see the poster of Roda, like yeah, I also
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: think that shouldn't have been a thing. The very first
- 1:15:42Speaker 2: time you see Roda should be like a oh my god,
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: like that's Roda. Like that's how I feel like they
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: should have approached it. Yeah, but I do also like
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: the I liked Rooda as a character. I liked him development,
- 1:16:02Speaker 2: the the growth of Rogu considering how he was when
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: he was rising up that rhino looking alien in season
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: one compared to him rising folda at the very end
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: of this movie. A lot of growth there. I really
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: like that.
- 1:16:24Speaker 3: And uhh, I thought there was a lot of inconsistencies
- 1:16:33Speaker 3: with Mendo coming in, Like there were some scenes like
- 1:16:37Speaker 3: maybe cut together because for instance, I don't I think
- 1:16:40Speaker 3: he loses his cloak in the pit with the dragon
- 1:16:44Speaker 3: snake because he's running through the forest and there's no cloak. Yes,
- 1:16:49Speaker 3: And as soon as he gets to the enzell and
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: ship drops, Grogu off turns around, he's got a nice
- 1:16:55Speaker 3: dry cloak, like flowing in the wind. He also got
- 1:17:01Speaker 3: his blaster back after he was poisoned.
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: Like, I don't know how I have the same thing
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: written down.
- 1:17:10Speaker 3: And people could be like, oh, well, maybe he just
- 1:17:12Speaker 3: picked it up.
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: Does because because here's the thing he puts it back
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: in its holster when he's right there next to where
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: he woke up. He does like because you because there
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: could also be an argument of like, oh it was
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: on the gun runnership along with the sniper rifle that
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: he used to have. Yeah, I liked it too. I
- 1:17:41Speaker 2: thought that was a really nice callback. But you you
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: never see him pick up a pistol in the gun Runnership.
- 1:17:49Speaker 2: You see him put it in his holster when right
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: before he tells grogu, oh, the old take care of
- 1:17:56Speaker 2: the young, and the young take care of the old.
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: This is the way. Like that. That's when you see
- 1:18:00Speaker 2: him put it back in his holster.
- 1:18:02Speaker 3: So Greg says, he picks it up from majority he killed.
- 1:18:05Speaker 3: He so the droid he killed he picks up like
- 1:18:07Speaker 3: a standard like storm trooper pistol. He doesn't pick up
- 1:18:11Speaker 3: his pistol.
- 1:18:12Speaker 2: Yeah, his specific pistol.
- 1:18:15Speaker 3: And I'm telling you, I've colored enough of the Mandalorian's
- 1:18:18Speaker 3: pistols in this coloring book that I read that it
- 1:18:22Speaker 3: was his pistol.
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: I have it right here, but it's out of arms reach.
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: I can't reach.
- 1:18:27Speaker 3: Oh. Mars Mara finally saw it, apparently while I was
- 1:18:30Speaker 3: gone at the movies. She was like, c O, I oh,
- 1:18:42Speaker 3: the last thing. Uh yeah, the last thing. I love
- 1:18:50Speaker 3: that Carshian Neva did get to make an appearance. I
- 1:18:54Speaker 3: was worried he wasn't going to make an appearance Paul Paul.
- 1:19:01Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, I can't rememberse full name. I assume
- 1:19:04Speaker 3: he wasn't in more of the movie because he was
- 1:19:06Speaker 3: filming the Avatar Show. Yes, so the fact that he
- 1:19:11Speaker 3: got to get in at the last dogfight, I.
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: Imagine what this movie would have been like if we
- 1:19:18Speaker 2: had gotten Starfighter. Yeah, you know, which also has brings
- 1:19:28Speaker 2: back my comment or not brings back, but I'm gonna
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: go ahead and bring it up now. Sigourney Weaver. She
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: talked about her she got a fat paycheck for quite
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: possibly the easiest job ever. She had a total of
- 1:19:46Speaker 2: five lines. Maybe it felt like five lines. That was it.
- 1:19:51Speaker 2: Like she did the least amount of work and probably
- 1:19:58Speaker 2: got paid the most.
- 1:20:00Speaker 3: Like like that, f was she there? I find that
- 1:20:07Speaker 3: to swear in this one, guys.
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: But well, because because here's the here's the thing. The
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: reason do you know why she's agent. The reason why
- 1:20:18Speaker 2: she is there is because Carl Weathers passed away. That
- 1:20:24Speaker 2: is one hundred the reason why I could see that.
- 1:20:28Speaker 2: Now I could look at the timeline to see if
- 1:20:33Speaker 2: she was hired before or after. Uh, but that genuinely
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: feels like the reason.
- 1:20:43Speaker 3: Well, and they also probably because Carson Neva's Carson Tiva.
- 1:20:48Speaker 3: Excuse me, I don't know why he was saying. I
- 1:20:50Speaker 3: was saying Carson Neva point blank. I don't think like
- 1:20:57Speaker 3: they probably were just like, oh, yeah, Paul's not Paul.
- 1:21:03Speaker 3: I'm looking up the full name Paul Son hung Lee.
- 1:21:07Speaker 2: Uh.
- 1:21:07Speaker 3: Is probably not popular enough to put do the role
- 1:21:12Speaker 3: in a movie because that's what he was doing in
- 1:21:14Speaker 3: the show, and he should have been.
- 1:21:15Speaker 2: Able to.
- 1:21:20Speaker 3: Have that. Yes, thank you, because I saw somebody who
- 1:21:24Speaker 3: was like, yeah, there's society if you translated it says
- 1:21:27Speaker 3: Weather's apollo, And I'm like, why would I have to
- 1:21:30Speaker 3: do that? Like could we not reference him?
- 1:21:32Speaker 2: Like well, because I legit I wanted there to be
- 1:21:37Speaker 2: a in memory of Carl weathers yeah, within the first
- 1:21:42Speaker 2: few minutes of the credits, and there wasn't. And I
- 1:21:46Speaker 2: was like, wow, that's pretty shitty. And for the fact
- 1:21:51Speaker 2: that they just did a small little homage to him
- 1:21:54Speaker 2: feels really crappy. Uh, But I know that a is
- 1:21:59Speaker 2: exact quote is most exposition character And for what a
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: waste I literally have in my notes Sgourney Weaver and
- 1:22:08Speaker 2: in parentheses I say waste of talent. They're like, I understand,
- 1:22:15Speaker 2: she is a name. She's gonna put butts in seats.
- 1:22:18Speaker 2: But like, people are going to feel really crappy if
- 1:22:22Speaker 2: they're like, oh, Sigourney Weaver's in this movie and then
- 1:22:25Speaker 2: they get out of the movie and they're like, oh,
- 1:22:28Speaker 2: I didn't see Sigourney Weaver in this movie, you know,
- 1:22:31Speaker 2: like it just it felt so unnecessary, and I'm like
- 1:22:36Speaker 2: again talking about the uh the feminist test. It literally
- 1:22:41Speaker 2: felt like, oh, I think we should put a woman
- 1:22:44Speaker 2: in this movie. Yeah, that's the only reason I have
- 1:22:50Speaker 2: met the man. I am newly black. I am grossed out. Sorry, No,
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: like I I understand, I understand. He says, it feels
- 1:23:00Speaker 2: like we missed the New Republic Pilot movie.
- 1:23:02Speaker 5: Well, and that's why I said, like, this movie would
- 1:23:06Speaker 5: be a completely different movie if we in Rogue Squadron,
- 1:23:11Speaker 5: if we had gotten Rogue Squadron or Starfighter either, or
- 1:23:15Speaker 5: if we had gotten either of them, I think this
- 1:23:19Speaker 5: movie would have been completely different.
- 1:23:22Speaker 3: Yeah, because it doesn't like you have like this whole team,
- 1:23:28Speaker 3: and it just feels like something's missing, especially for those
- 1:23:31Speaker 3: of us who know, like, Okay, this is where we
- 1:23:34Speaker 3: left off at and now all of a sudden, we're
- 1:23:36Speaker 3: here and we goods up. Yay, I'm glad you had fun, Adrian.
- 1:23:41Speaker 2: We we can be critical, it also has still have fun. Yes,
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: like again, because one of the critical things that I
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: had to say about this was Favreau and Feloni got
- 1:23:53Speaker 2: all of their Star Wars friends and made a movie
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: that's all this is basically yeah, And is that a
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: compliment or a backhanded compliment? I think it's kind of
- 1:24:03Speaker 2: both because the man Filoni cannot help himself. He has
- 1:24:08Speaker 2: to put himself in every single season of Manalorian Grogu
- 1:24:12Speaker 2: and like just the one shot of him in the bar,
- 1:24:18Speaker 2: I kind of rolled my eyes at it. I was like, why,
- 1:24:21Speaker 2: like you, and again, it's only probably gonna bother the
- 1:24:25Speaker 2: people who know who he is, right, like, nobody else
- 1:24:29Speaker 2: is gonna know who he is. But when you see him,
- 1:24:32Speaker 2: it's just like, Okay, Dave, like we get it. You
- 1:24:35Speaker 2: made you helped make this character cool. Like let's move on. Hey,
- 1:24:43Speaker 2: here's Dave twice with the.
- 1:24:46Speaker 3: Only black character on the screen having two lines. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:24:52Speaker 3: the representation, the alien part. I was happy with everything else.
- 1:24:58Speaker 3: I was like, it is a small cast, like it
- 1:25:02Speaker 3: is a small main cast, so there's not a whole
- 1:25:05Speaker 3: lot you can do with already established characters that you have,
- 1:25:09Speaker 3: But that means when you bring in other characters to
- 1:25:12Speaker 3: play a role in this that those characters need to
- 1:25:15Speaker 3: have some impact and make things work to accurately represent
- 1:25:21Speaker 3: people put money. He doested terrible in the New Republic
- 1:25:26Speaker 3: pilot movie every Pilot basically except Paul some.
- 1:25:35Speaker 2: It.
- 1:25:36Speaker 3: Paul Lee is a director, Like.
- 1:25:44Speaker 2: Yeah, no, and and the thing is like, there could
- 1:25:48Speaker 2: have been a lot more representation, Like the muscle for
- 1:25:52Speaker 2: coin could have easily been a woman. M hm, Like
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: that's okay, guys, we can make women have muscle. I'm sorry, Like.
- 1:26:03Speaker 3: Yeah, especially considering that the god was in was an alien,
- 1:26:08Speaker 3: So you can't tell me that you couldn't have put
- 1:26:11Speaker 3: like a mega buff alien lady in there.
- 1:26:14Speaker 2: Like exactly. And so like I'm okay with the bad
- 1:26:20Speaker 2: guy being a bald white dude because that's just the
- 1:26:25Speaker 2: world right now. So it's just like, oh, you know,
- 1:26:29Speaker 2: we can all relate to this one. But yeah, it's
- 1:26:33Speaker 2: it's this movie was fun. We can be critical about it.
- 1:26:39Speaker 2: I think that overall, as long as you're not trying
- 1:26:45Speaker 2: to go into this movie saying, hey, I'm gonna be
- 1:26:48Speaker 2: critical of everything in this movie to see if it's
- 1:26:52Speaker 2: the best Star Wars movie ever, Like, yeah, you're you're
- 1:26:54Speaker 2: going to come out disappointed. It is not the best
- 1:26:58Speaker 2: Star Wars movie in exist sense. Yeah, I think that
- 1:27:02Speaker 2: the the the pool quote that I shared Katie the
- 1:27:06Speaker 2: other day, the uh what it attempts to be a
- 1:27:11Speaker 2: Star Wars movie, I think that is a little harsh.
- 1:27:14Speaker 2: Now watching this movie twice now, I think.
- 1:27:18Speaker 3: That definitely a Star Wars movie. It's not one that
- 1:27:24Speaker 3: moves like, like you said, moves the needle forward. It's
- 1:27:32Speaker 3: it's not one that moves the needle forward in terms
- 1:27:35Speaker 3: of like a gigantic move like it really makes the
- 1:27:41Speaker 3: most sense as a here's a tiny snippet of the
- 1:27:47Speaker 3: Star Wars galaxy and what's happening in it at this moment,
- 1:27:52Speaker 3: like we are in Star Wars. This is a Star
- 1:27:55Speaker 3: Wars movie, but it doesn't have to do big things.
- 1:27:59Speaker 2: So yeah, but my last question to you, Katie, My
- 1:28:03Speaker 2: last question to you, is this the end of Mando.
- 1:28:15Speaker 2: I'm not saying this is the end of Grogu. Is
- 1:28:18Speaker 2: this the end of Mando?
- 1:28:20Speaker 3: I don't think so. I don't think so. Adrian. I'm
- 1:28:25Speaker 3: gonna have to get with you on this because I
- 1:28:27Speaker 3: have not played Outlaws and I have not watched the
- 1:28:29Speaker 3: credits sequences.
- 1:28:32Speaker 2: I still need to play the game.
- 1:28:34Speaker 3: He's a Outlaws fans were eating and Yeah, we talked
- 1:28:37Speaker 3: about this at the beginning. It's a Star Wars story,
- 1:28:39Speaker 3: same way Solo was. It's a tiny snippet where it
- 1:28:43Speaker 3: can be a one off and you can have blast
- 1:28:45Speaker 3: with it, and that's all you need at the end
- 1:28:47Speaker 3: of the day.
- 1:28:48Speaker 2: Yeah, So you don't think that it is the end
- 1:28:53Speaker 2: of Mando. No.
- 1:28:55Speaker 3: I think Pedro Pascal is Uh is too popular and
- 1:29:01Speaker 3: there will be some way, shape or form that Uh,
- 1:29:04Speaker 3: Filoni and Fabreau find ways to bring him back into
- 1:29:11Speaker 3: the fold of things. So before we get to Greg's
- 1:29:19Speaker 3: one off question, that's kind of related, but like, I'm
- 1:29:28Speaker 3: not gonna ask you what you would rate this movie.
- 1:29:30Speaker 3: But we have rated our Star Wars movie, or we
- 1:29:32Speaker 3: have ranked our Star Wars movies. There's twelve Star Wars movies.
- 1:29:37Speaker 3: Now with this, I'm not gonna ask you where it
- 1:29:41Speaker 3: falls precisely in that list, because I don't even know
- 1:29:43Speaker 3: where it falls precisely in that list.
- 1:29:44Speaker 2: I'm gonna have to go back to that episode to
- 1:29:46Speaker 2: listen to what my list was.
- 1:29:49Speaker 3: I basically do a new one every single time.
- 1:29:52Speaker 2: Every single time. Yeah, so hang on listening there with
- 1:29:59Speaker 2: this fall.
- 1:30:01Speaker 3: In, I'm not gonna say one to six because I
- 1:30:03Speaker 3: feel like one to six is not gonna happen with
- 1:30:06Speaker 3: this fall six to nine or nine to twelve.
- 1:30:14Speaker 2: I'm looking at the list of Star Wars movies and
- 1:30:16Speaker 2: it's hilarious because they add literally every single one, including
- 1:30:20Speaker 2: the lego ones that you walk on. Oh, that's hilarious.
- 1:30:27Speaker 3: This.
- 1:30:28Speaker 2: So, now that there's twelve, you're saying, hey, is it
- 1:30:31Speaker 2: above the line or below the line?
- 1:30:35Speaker 3: I would say one to six to six to twelve,
- 1:30:37Speaker 3: and I'm hitting six to twelve for sure.
- 1:30:42Speaker 2: I might be right there in between because I think
- 1:30:49Speaker 2: that there is such because of how we just love
- 1:30:54Speaker 2: Star Wars. I think that the top six are so good,
- 1:31:01Speaker 2: and I'm not gonna say the bottom six are so polarizing,
- 1:31:06Speaker 2: but they are still good movies. You know, they're still
- 1:31:11Speaker 2: Star Wars movies. At the end of the day, I'm
- 1:31:15Speaker 2: going to say that it is anywhere between. I'm gonna
- 1:31:25Speaker 2: say four to seven between there. Okay, I'm gonna say
- 1:31:32Speaker 2: between four and seven. Again, I'll need to do another
- 1:31:37Speaker 2: last and leave Mando out to really see where it
- 1:31:43Speaker 2: can fit.
- 1:31:44Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I would say I'm probably like five to
- 1:31:47Speaker 3: eight range, because again, I do enjoy a movie where
- 1:31:50Speaker 3: I can just jump in and watch one. That's why
- 1:31:52Speaker 3: Solo rinks so high for me. So also, I think
- 1:31:59Speaker 3: I did not count a clone war story, so it
- 1:32:04Speaker 3: would be thirteen movies.
- 1:32:06Speaker 2: I was gonna say it would have It would have
- 1:32:07Speaker 2: to be thirteen because you can't leave out the movie
- 1:32:10Speaker 2: that introduces Rhoda.
- 1:32:11Speaker 3: No, you're right, I definitely cannot, and that is my fault.
- 1:32:14Speaker 3: It totally failed and it.
- 1:32:17Speaker 2: Did hit theaters. That's also another it did hit theaters.
- 1:32:20Speaker 3: Yes, but guys, I think that concludes, uh, the discussion
- 1:32:27Speaker 3: of the review portion of the movie, Clay, unless you
- 1:32:30Speaker 3: had anything else.
- 1:32:31Speaker 2: Well, you said that we were going to talk about something.
- 1:32:33Speaker 3: Well, yes, I was just like, this is the end
- 1:32:35Speaker 3: of the review portion.
- 1:32:37Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:32:37Speaker 3: Greg brought up a question. I'm gonna scroll up. Where's
- 1:32:47Speaker 3: the question?
- 1:32:49Speaker 2: Oh?
- 1:32:49Speaker 3: So he said, I have to ask about Grogu. Y'all
- 1:32:52Speaker 3: may have talked about this before, but do you think
- 1:32:53Speaker 3: they're trying to play anything about Grogu and Anakin being
- 1:32:56Speaker 3: born the same year having to do with the few.
- 1:33:00Speaker 3: If so, doesn't that solely Anakin's reduption art? I don't
- 1:33:11Speaker 3: think so, because honestly, I hadn't even put together that
- 1:33:17Speaker 3: they were born in the same year, because I think
- 1:33:22Speaker 3: at the end of the day, people are born on
- 1:33:26Speaker 3: the same day every single year. Oh I may have
- 1:33:29Speaker 3: gone out again.
- 1:33:30Speaker 2: No no, no, no no, I'm trying to do the
- 1:33:32Speaker 2: math here in my head.
- 1:33:34Speaker 3: So they're both forty one Bby, I've got it pulled
- 1:33:37Speaker 3: up on. If anything, this movie makes what Anakin did
- 1:33:44Speaker 3: worse because.
- 1:33:46Speaker 2: Of what he did. I love it.
- 1:33:56Speaker 3: I love it. So they were both born in forty
- 1:34:03Speaker 3: one Bby. To me, I think people are born on
- 1:34:08Speaker 3: the same day every single year. Like I don't think
- 1:34:13Speaker 3: that to me. Also, I have issues with the fact
- 1:34:16Speaker 3: that Anakin was redeemed, but that that's not the topic
- 1:34:22Speaker 3: for here to the Day.
- 1:34:24Speaker 2: So here's here's here's the thing that I'm gonna say,
- 1:34:27Speaker 2: because again we we referenced it last episode, and I'm
- 1:34:31Speaker 2: going to reference this episode. Freddy Prince Junior his rant
- 1:34:38Speaker 2: that podcast I go back to every single time somebody
- 1:34:42Speaker 2: has an issue with the way Star Wars ends up going. Yeah,
- 1:34:46Speaker 2: he references, Hey, I know this because Dave Filoni told me,
- 1:34:53Speaker 2: and Dave or because George Lucas told him. The way
- 1:34:59Speaker 2: that these move and this story of Star Wars fluctuates
- 1:35:03Speaker 2: is due to the literal fight between good and evil
- 1:35:09Speaker 2: and how it all needs to work in balance. The
- 1:35:14Speaker 2: Force is a living thing in canon that literally can
- 1:35:20Speaker 2: course correct if need be. When showing things like Anakin
- 1:35:28Speaker 2: his turned to the dark side, Luke and Leyhan, all
- 1:35:34Speaker 2: of these other things, other factors you also have to
- 1:35:38Speaker 2: put into consideration. Okay, is the Force going to have
- 1:35:43Speaker 2: a Plan D? Yes, that Plan D is Grogun. That
- 1:35:50Speaker 2: doesn't mean that Anakin's redemption arc is Nolan void. It
- 1:35:56Speaker 2: doesn't mean that he is any less of a character.
- 1:36:00Speaker 2: That doesn't mean all of the other movies don't make
- 1:36:02Speaker 2: any sense because now Grogu is the savior of the galaxy.
- 1:36:07Speaker 2: Like that is not true whatsoever. You need to literally
- 1:36:11Speaker 2: just look at what the in story cannon is for
- 1:36:16Speaker 2: the literal force. The Force course corrects to keep balance
- 1:36:21Speaker 2: within the universe. Grogu is helping keep that balance.
- 1:36:27Speaker 3: One hundred and I always like to go back to
- 1:36:34Speaker 3: Captain Cold in the Flash when talking about anything related
- 1:36:40Speaker 3: to the future and then make a plan. Forget the plan,
- 1:36:44Speaker 3: screw up the plan, do something else.
- 1:36:48Speaker 2: Throw away the plan, make a new plan. Yeah yeah, yeah, and.
- 1:36:51Speaker 3: That's basically what the Force did in this case. It
- 1:36:53Speaker 3: was like, hey, we have this, but we also have this,
- 1:36:56Speaker 3: but we also have this. I think that's how life works.
- 1:37:00Speaker 2: So yeah, and and and it's a good reference point.
- 1:37:03Speaker 2: And again, guys, if you have not ever heard Fray
- 1:37:06Speaker 2: Prince Junior's uh, make lacks, then make them siblings. It's
- 1:37:16Speaker 2: it's all, it's it's all a part of the plan. Okay,
- 1:37:18Speaker 2: it's all a part of the plan. Uh.
- 1:37:22Speaker 3: But you know what Lucas says is gold of course.
- 1:37:34Speaker 2: So yeah, that that's that's ultimately it. Again, guys, you
- 1:37:40Speaker 2: guys can form your own opinions about these movies. You
- 1:37:44Speaker 2: can agree with us, you can disagree with us. We
- 1:37:47Speaker 2: would like to hear you either way, whether you agreed
- 1:37:51Speaker 2: with us, whether you didn't, whether you caught a certain
- 1:37:54Speaker 2: easter egg that we did not talk about. This movie
- 1:37:59Speaker 2: was fun in a way that was meant to be, Like,
- 1:38:04Speaker 2: I'm not gonna say Fast and Furious fun, because I
- 1:38:08Speaker 2: think those movies are stupid and ridiculous and people love them.
- 1:38:14Speaker 2: I will never agree with anybody with with that franchise.
- 1:38:19Speaker 2: This movie is watchable, okay, And I think that's okay.
- 1:38:26Speaker 2: I think that is okay. We have said this many
- 1:38:29Speaker 2: many times. Not every single movie when it comes to
- 1:38:34Speaker 2: Star Wars needs.
- 1:38:36Speaker 3: To be don't get him started, Adrian.
- 1:38:40Speaker 2: Fast is better than this. I will come home and
- 1:38:48Speaker 2: show you the way that the so so there's a
- 1:38:55Speaker 2: long conversation about it, but maybe some other time I
- 1:39:00Speaker 2: will bring everybody up to speed. But there was once
- 1:39:04Speaker 2: a time in the gua Chat that we all had
- 1:39:08Speaker 2: a discussion about popcorn movies and what that means. Oh,
- 1:39:11Speaker 2: it's just a popcorn movie. It's just a popcorn movie.
- 1:39:14Speaker 2: And when I finally asked, hey, what the hell does
- 1:39:16Speaker 2: that even mean, They're like, oh, you just turn off
- 1:39:18Speaker 2: your brain and watch it. I'm like, you literally can't
- 1:39:21Speaker 2: do that. You literally this is just me and my
- 1:39:23Speaker 2: ADHD brain like saying, can't compute. Can't compute. You literally
- 1:39:28Speaker 2: cannot turn off your brain and then watch something. It
- 1:39:31Speaker 2: makes literally no sense. So that's why whenever I bring
- 1:39:37Speaker 2: up the Fast and Furious franchise, like everybody in the
- 1:39:40Speaker 2: Guachat just laughs. But when it comes to Star Wars
- 1:39:45Speaker 2: and the franchise within itself. Like some movies okay are
- 1:39:50Speaker 2: okay with just being okay, and this was one of
- 1:39:53Speaker 2: those movies. Now, when you want to be more critical
- 1:39:58Speaker 2: about it, is this the perfect movie? No, it is not.
- 1:40:02Speaker 2: It has it has its flaws. It is definitely not
- 1:40:07Speaker 2: the Last Jedi. I'll say that as my favorite. It
- 1:40:11Speaker 2: is definitely not the last Jedi. But it's definitely not
- 1:40:16Speaker 2: Attack of the Clones.
- 1:40:18Speaker 3: You know, yeah, so hi, Wait a second, don't we
- 1:40:23Speaker 3: hate non Attack the Clones.
- 1:40:27Speaker 2: It is out of the episodics. The It is literally
- 1:40:32Speaker 2: number one when it comes to episodic movies, literally number one.
- 1:40:37Speaker 2: The Phantom Menace is better than the Tag Clones. I
- 1:40:39Speaker 2: don't care what anybody says.
- 1:40:42Speaker 3: Booo.
- 1:40:46Speaker 2: So again, if you would like to share your opinions,

- 1:42:21Speaker 3: have a comic review scheduled for that day.
- 1:42:25Speaker 2: I believe.
- 1:42:25Speaker 3: So yeah, Adrian says, glad I caught y'all needed to
- 1:42:32Speaker 3: see y'all before my hip surgery. We wish you good luck, Adrian.
- 1:42:36Speaker 3: I'm i don't want that surgery for myself. They have
- 1:42:40Speaker 3: recommended it, so I don't envy you at all. Oh,
