- 0:00You're listening to the B Favor Cool podcast.
- 0:02My name is Rex 45. This evening we got the All Star
- 0:06lineup. We got TJ in the building.
- 0:09What's going on? TJ man, how you doing, man?
- 0:13I'm doing great man, excited for this weekend.
- 0:16We got Moto GP and Moto America ahead of us and I can't wait
- 0:21because I found around the Moto America see where everybody
- 0:25places and see a lot of people in person so.
- 0:28No doubt, no doubt, no doubt we're going to have some fun
- 0:30tonight. It's going to be a good night.
- 0:32Let's move down the line up. We got Reese in the building man
- 0:35Reese, how you doing tonight? You must be excited.
- 0:37You got the weekend coming up. I don't see you sweating over
- 0:40there. You look cool as a cucumber.
- 0:41It's. Good man.
- 0:42Hey man, I'm hanging in there man.
- 0:44Ready to go, ready to get to the weekend started.
- 0:46Hopefully it don't be a wet one or I ain't got to be looking
- 0:49like a swamp monster. I, I know that we're going to
- 0:52talk about all the possible options for conditions out
- 0:54there. Last but not least, we got the
- 0:56numbers guy in the building. Lewis, what's going on, man?
- 0:59What's going on today? Another another interesting
- 1:03weekend of motorcycle stuff. You know, you might not notice
- 1:06Lewis man, but a year ago we did our first interview together.
- 1:09Now look at this man. Crazy man.
- 1:11Yeah, man, it's, it's, it's gone by really fast.
- 1:14And you know, I, as always, you know, I like to thank everybody
- 1:18that listens and watches. It's great to get feedback and
- 1:22you know, have just people hit me up on Instagram, things like
- 1:24that. It's cool, man.
- 1:25I didn't think when we first did the first interview, you know, I
- 1:29was thinking we'll do a few and we'll see how it goes.
- 1:31But you know, here we are a year down the road and seems like a
- 1:35lot has happened in the last year.
- 1:37No doubt, no doubt. We're going to keep this thing
- 1:39moving for sure. What's going on, fellas?
- 1:41Welcome back. You know, there's going to be
- 1:44some cheers, some tears this weekend, whether you're in the
- 1:49US, whether you're in Motege, hell, you might even be in in
- 1:53the UK somewhere because you might not get a contract.
- 1:56A lot of moving pieces in in, in the motorcycle community this
- 2:00this time around. So we'll jump into it and we'll
- 2:03talk right off the back. You know, you know, Tap Rock
- 2:06came over to the USI don't know if he was looking at doctors,
- 2:08looking at houses or just trying to get comfortable with Koda,
- 2:12but he got the you know, the motorcycle community talking
- 2:15about what you can do on the BMW.
- 2:16I hear guys and women and you know, they're going to get that
- 2:19stock 1000 to come sometimes down on on some people.
- 2:23But you know, we want to talk about deciding a little bit.
- 2:25Well, let's talk about what top rack did over in Coda, man, Was
- 2:28that a big deal? TJ What's good, man?
- 2:32I mean, yeah, I mean, I I found out late and I really think Coda
- 2:37is a really nice track. I think it's one of the best
- 2:39tracks, like I said last week, like you can figure out anything
- 2:45on that track with any manufacturer just because of the
- 2:48layout uphill, downhill, but for top practice to come out here
- 2:53and I don't know what he's trying to prove be in shape or
- 2:56see if he can tend. I don't know what it's about,
- 2:58but I think he put it like a two O 6 or something like that,
- 3:01which is a pretty good time. I think Bobier put something
- 3:05like that when they just went to Dakota, but I just can't wait to
- 3:10see him in Moto GPI mean I I feel like he already got this
- 3:13season locked up. It's pretty much over for Brewer
- 3:16again. I don't know how much hard
- 3:18harder he can try, but it ain't going to happen unless Todd
- 3:22Bragger was out. But but yeah, what he did out
- 3:25there was pretty impressive for I don't know how many times it's
- 3:29written, Conan. But.
- 3:32I can't I can't wait till he gets into PC happens.
- 3:35That's the other part of it. How many times has he written
- 3:37Coda, you know, over the, you know, I remember watching the
- 3:40clip. I'm, I'm, I'm going to jump on
- 3:42talk to Reese next. I was watching the clip with
- 3:44Scott Greenwood a few years ago. He's talking about, you know,
- 3:47when he first couple of laps, he was trying to break the wheel of
- 3:50other riders. So they don't even want to come
- 3:52in and make his race easier because, you know, he he pulled
- 3:55out some lap times. Reese, you mean you think that
- 3:59you know the Flack that you hear people complain about the BMW
- 4:03and he comes out and do this. Is he tired to tell people like
- 4:07just shut up and ride? Like you know that that's
- 4:09serious on on a stock 1000? I mean, it's serious on a stock
- 4:141000, and you gotta also think he's on Pirelli tires.
- 4:17You know, the tires do make a hell of a difference.
- 4:20People don't think so, but tires do make a hell of a difference.
- 4:23I mean, Jake was at AA74 on USA stock on US spec Dunlop tires.
- 4:33So I mean Michael. Jordan got to be the shoes.
- 4:35Got to be the shoes. On this one, I mean, it is Top
- 4:39Rank. Top Rank is is the guy you know,
- 4:42if you know, so he makes BMW look great.
- 4:46I mean, because, you know, I've had, I mean, there was some
- 4:50couple of guys out on, on on Instagram telling me that the
- 4:53BMW is a great and giving me this, but I'm like, if it wasn't
- 4:57for top rack, where are we at with BMW?
- 5:00Like I had to go back into the record books and it's like I I
- 5:04can't pull nothing up. So I mean, and I talked to a
- 5:07couple guys there like BMW is a great street bike.
- 5:10You know, they're still trying to develop it as a pure, pure
- 5:12race bike. So I mean, but what he had done
- 5:16on a bike is next to phenomenal. I mean, the guy is the last last
- 5:22person to come up as an alien that can do pretty much
- 5:25anything. Yeah, shout out to those fans,
- 5:27man. We really appreciate all the
- 5:29comments. We're doing something good over
- 5:31here to be forever Cool podcast. We've got people talking that
- 5:34would normally normally talk, but we're going to leave the you
- 5:37know, not to say the best for last or miss the numbers guy.
- 5:40What do you talk? You know, I know you have a
- 5:41different take on the stock 1000, so I'm going to let you
- 5:45have you a piece man. What's?
- 5:46Good. Well, let's start by saying
- 5:48stock 1000 does not mean stock from the showroom 1000.
- 5:53Right. It means a stock 1000 race bike,
- 5:58similar to the race bike that Orange Cat team is using in the
- 6:01stock 1000 series in Motor America.
- 6:05You know this this this bike had alpha racing parts in it.
- 6:08This is not a stock showroom bike, so let's start with that
- 6:14there. All right now the first thing I
- 6:16got to say is is Top Rank is absolutely the last guy that you
- 6:21want to see at the track in a race because there's a reason
- 6:24why he's a reigning world champion and why there's only
- 6:27one other guy in World Super bike that he can can even smell
- 6:30his exhaust. If Nicola Buliga wasn't racing
- 6:34in World Super Bike this year, Top Rack would run away with the
- 6:36series because nobody else is touching it.
- 6:40So right off the bat, Top Rack is going to come with plus 3
- 6:44seconds in his pocket. To anybody that's racing in the
- 6:47US on the same bike, you know, that's just what he is, man.
- 6:51And then again, as Reese was saying, then you add the Pirelli
- 6:55factor and I know there's a lot of ball riders out there that
- 6:59are like, oh, you know, tires, tires, tires make a difference.
- 7:03Don't sleep on tires. The only reason bikes can do
- 7:06what they can do today is because the tires have evolved
- 7:10to allow them to do what they can do today.
- 7:11Take a 26 Moto GP Ducati and put it on a set of 22,000 and five
- 7:19Michelins. It won't do the times that it's
- 7:22doing today. Tires evolve and tires allow
- 7:26bikes to evolve because you can get more out of the bike onto
- 7:30the track through the tires. Last time I checked, I haven't
- 7:33seen a bike riding around in rims doing much.
- 7:36The tires that were put the power to the ground, they put
- 7:39the inputs to the ground, they make the bike turn, they make
- 7:41the bike stop and everything else.
- 7:43And Pirelli is absolutely a superior tire to the Dunlops
- 7:47that are being used in the US today.
- 7:49With that said on Dunlops top rack would still go 3 seconds
- 7:55faster than anybody else in the US.
- 7:57I'm sorry, but he would also crash his brains out especially
- 8:02if it was on the tires that motor America's using.
- 8:04And Reese, you can you can confirm with this, Dunlop has
- 8:08not made a tire in the US in over a year now.
- 8:10Their factory closed. They're still giving tires and
- 8:14selling tires that were made over a year ago, sometimes two
- 8:18years ago. So if you go around the Motor
- 8:20America paddock, if you don't see a Dunlop tire that was made
- 8:24outside the country, that shit has an expiration date.
- 8:27And it's not within the last year.
- 8:30Like there's tires out there in Motor America that say built in
- 8:3322, built in 23. You know, when Pirelli went to
- 8:40Moto 2 and Moto 3, all of a sudden all the Moto 2 and Moto 3
- 8:44times went a second, a second and a quarter or a second and a
- 8:47half faster. Same tracks, same bikes as last
- 8:50year, same riders as last year, but they're going a second
- 8:53faster. Why?
- 8:54Because the year before they were on Dunlaps, and this year
- 8:58they're on Pirelli's. Why do you see so many Moto 2
- 9:01and Moto 3 lap records falling left and right?
- 9:04Tires make a difference. I'm not saying Pirelli is the
- 9:06greatest tire ever made, but it's definitely at the very tip
- 9:09of the spear, man, you know? And it's definitely at the very
- 9:13tip of the spear. If you look at Moto America and
- 9:16you look at the Super Bike Times, there's Super Bikes is
- 9:21still running the US spec Dunlop tire.
- 9:25This is the last year that they're running the US spec
- 9:27tire. If you look at Super Sport, go
- 9:30look at the times from last year to this year.
- 9:34Why? Because they're running the
- 9:36Japan spec tire. Now only Super Sport is running
- 9:41the tire. OK, so.
- 9:44So for all the Internet engineers, tires make a
- 9:50difference. Not to be confused with the
- 9:52other I triple E. Tires make a massive difference
- 9:58and and again, there's a lot of great tire companies out there,
- 10:02but at the very top, people really do have to give the
- 10:05flowers to Pirelli because anytime they step into a series,
- 10:09that series goes faster, it doesn't go slower.
- 10:12And, and I really want to see what they're going to do when
- 10:15they step into Moto GP, because I don't think they're going to
- 10:18come with a tire that has the issues that they're currently
- 10:22having now. I think they're going to try to
- 10:24resolve the tire pressure issues so they can get rid of that.
- 10:27I think they're going to give them a compound that all the
- 10:29riders are going to like. I mean, they've been making
- 10:31bikes go fast for a very long time in world Super bike.
- 10:34And if they can take that technology and bring it over, I
- 10:37think you just going to see guys pushing the limits even further
- 10:41and the bikes going even faster. And you know, again, top rack
- 10:45would still, I hate to say it, I mean, he would wipe the floor
- 10:48with anybody in the US because he's top rack.
- 10:51It's the same way as Mark Marquez if he came here.
- 10:53And like, yeah, I'm going to race this weekend in more
- 10:55America. Just stay in your pit, bro.
- 10:57I'm going to save all my money from this weekend.
- 11:02I'm not even going to that track because there's certain guys,
- 11:06I'm sorry, but there's certain guys that that the level of
- 11:09talent and the level of what they can do is just that next
- 11:13three or four runs higher than anybody else can seem to get to.
- 11:17Like there's, you know, there's natural talent that you can't
- 11:20teach. You can't learn it.
- 11:21You can't no matter how many laps you do, this guy can just
- 11:25do that extra one or two things that nobody else can do, man.
- 11:28And I mean, when I saw that lap time, I was like, man, that dude
- 11:31is for lying. Lying, Lying 264A6 Four.
- 11:36Jesus Christ. You know, I don't, I don't know
- 11:38if you guys saw the the interview with Johnny Ray and
- 11:42Tap Rock and your boy Alec close on that podcast, but it seems
- 11:49like top Rock gave Johnny Jonathan Ray a lot of credit in
- 11:56learning how to become a champion, learning how to push
- 11:59when even your bike, you know, is it moves like a tractor and
- 12:02stuff like that. So I don't know if you guys saw
- 12:04that and with your thoughts on that before we move on.
- 12:07And also, you know, is this enough to kind of say mode
- 12:10America has to do more for next season, Although sounds like
- 12:13they're going to be going with the the European compound
- 12:17version of. The Japanese compound.
- 12:19Japanese. Yeah, I saw a little bit of that
- 12:22interview. I didn't catch the whole thing.
- 12:24I actually want to. I've downloaded it so I can
- 12:26listen to it tomorrow since I'll be on the road for several
- 12:28hours. But it's if there's one thing
- 12:34that I've always seen consistently in every interview,
- 12:36the top racks ever done is he has a joyfulness to him.
- 12:41Like, I don't think I've ever seen a racer enjoy being on a
- 12:44motorcycle more. You know, like the the the Oh,
- 12:48by the way, this is the only stunter I know that actually
- 12:50knows how to ride a bike. Right, he is sorry.
- 12:53Sorry to disappoint everybody that's doing wheelies for a
- 12:55mile. This is the only guy that could
- 12:57do wheelie for a mile. I'll stop you for a mile but
- 12:59then also blow the doors off you on the track.
- 13:03But this dude legitimately loves being on a motorcycle and he has
- 13:07a humility to him and a humbleness to him where it, you
- 13:11know, it doesn't hurt him to give people props, which is very
- 13:16rare when you're at the top echelon of of a competition
- 13:19sport like this. You typically don't give other
- 13:22people their, their, their, their just desserts or, or give
- 13:25them credit. And when I heard him talking
- 13:27about that Ray, I mean, you know, Ray's not hasn't done well
- 13:30the last couple years, but this guy has won a multitude of
- 13:34championships. In a row.
- 13:35In a row, yeah. Not in between losing a race
- 13:39here and there like 6 or seven in a row out of Kawasaki.
- 13:44That race is nowhere else in the world.
- 13:46Right, As Sam Lowe said, you know, I couldn't ride that bike.
- 13:49And this guy is, you know, fighting for the podium.
- 13:51I'm. I'm like sixth or fifth, yeah.
- 13:54So again, top, you know, before the new wave of younger riders
- 13:58come like Ray was the benchmark. So for him to say, you know what
- 14:02Ray kind of and again top rack was it on a Kawasaki in super
- 14:06sports. So he was part of the Kawasaki
- 14:09team. So he probably did get a lot of
- 14:10input from Ray. And Super bike, he was on Super,
- 14:13Super bike. Yeah, yeah, we switched.
- 14:15But but again, like that's I think that's a really important
- 14:19part of being a champion is honoring and respecting and
- 14:24looking at what the Champions before you did and the legacy
- 14:27they put in place. And then you try to add to that
- 14:30legacy with your own name and with what you do.
- 14:33And then hopefully, you know, at some point, Top Rack pays it
- 14:36down, pays it forward and hopes a future champion, you know,
- 14:39kind of find his way and get to that same points.
- 14:43Yeah. I love seeing that stuff, man.
- 14:44That's the kind of thing that we need more of a in the sport, to
- 14:47be honest with you. No doubt, no doubt.
- 14:48And before we praise Yamaha and the FIM endorse series, Reese or
- 14:53TJ got anything to add about Top Rock, Johnny Ray and and that
- 14:57section and also just him, you know, is his last season
- 15:00Jonathan Ray. I mean, I definitely want to
- 15:04like Lewis and I want to download that and and watch it
- 15:07myself because that didn't I really see much about it.
- 15:10But yeah, Top Rock is a cool guy.
- 15:13He's very humble. I mean, and it's just, it's just
- 15:17good to see what he's doing. Jonathan Ray is just, he's just
- 15:22a legend as well, you know, and his own right for winning all
- 15:26those titles and stuff like that.
- 15:27So you got to pay respect to the to the and stuff like that.
- 15:31So but yeah, I definitely want to see, but I also want to know
- 15:34like how top track, I want to know who else was at this track
- 15:37with top track really Because I told her because the same like
- 15:40it was just him. No, it was Nate, Nate Kern, the
- 15:43Orange Cat Racing guys. I mean there were some amateur
- 15:49racers and stuff like that. Like it was it was a a full on
- 15:52like BMW event, but there was some other.
- 15:54How was that crazy? Like Andrew Lee was there, Jason
- 15:57Uribe was there and a couple of others, but even those guys,
- 16:01they were on the track with him. They were like, hey bro, this
- 16:04guy's this guy's the truth, man, this guy's the truth.
- 16:07That's. Pretty cool though, you know,
- 16:08it's just just a track that you probably just end up adding or,
- 16:12or paid good money to go to to to race with those good guys and
- 16:15and top tracks. I mean it, the one thing that it
- 16:19kind of does hurt is like after seeing him at CODA, man, I would
- 16:24I would wish World Super Bike would come back to the US and do
- 16:26a round in the US. Yeah, man, it definitely didn't
- 16:29throw that on the calendar. Yeah, Laguna Seca.
- 16:33You know, even if it's going back to Laguna Seca, go
- 16:35something like we got to get a World Super Bike round in the
- 16:38US. We can't just have one Moto GP
- 16:40round and nothing else. I I completely agree, Reece
- 16:44before you, you know, you switch cameras.
- 16:49I hit the wrong button. I mean, you guys are taking
- 16:53notice over there, you know, in, in Yamaha camp or what he's
- 16:58doing. I mean, you always take notice
- 17:01to what Top Rack's doing. I mean, Top Rack is like, he's
- 17:05just an anomaly. He's an alien, but he's a very
- 17:08humble guy. You know, he like Lewis said, he
- 17:11loves the ride. He he loves doing what he does.
- 17:14And he actually gives praise to the guys that paved the way for
- 17:19him. And he's he's one of, like you
- 17:21said, he's one of the only stunt riders that you can see actually
- 17:24blow the doors off you and just blow by you like like you're
- 17:27standing still. But he's a very humble guy.
- 17:29And he's just, he loves doing what he does.
- 17:31So, I mean, you have to give you have to give credit to that
- 17:34because he he understands, Hey, this person has done what's
- 17:40Johnny Ray was six in a row, so 6.
- 17:42Or seven? Yeah.
- 17:43Like he understands that and that's not, that's not an easy
- 17:47task. That's something that you can't
- 17:50ride and not many people can ride.
- 17:52And that's nothing that's, you know, falls short of not being
- 17:56recognized. So he he recognizes that and
- 17:58that's something that sets him apart from a lot of other guys.
- 18:02I I agree and and we've said it on the show already, it seems
- 18:06like lately Ray doesn't get the credit like, like people are
- 18:10acting like, you know, he, he, he never won a title, much less
- 18:13six in a row to be the only guy to do it and stuff like that.
- 18:16It hopefully as as time goes on, more people recognize that.
- 18:20But Speaking of recognizing stuff, look, I didn't really
- 18:23notice what's going on either. The FM I FM FIM endurance world
- 18:27championship. This is a big deal.
- 18:30Yamaha looks like they they still won, you know, what are
- 18:34your thoughts on the endurance series, the championship?
- 18:38You know, 8 hours for most of the racetrack, but 24 hours for
- 18:42Le Mans on a bike headlights you got you got flashing things on
- 18:47your body if you crash because it gets dark, you know, you know
- 18:50that kind of thing. What do you guys thoughts on
- 18:53endurance racing and should we have more of it?
- 18:55And we have it in, you know, the Azra series and the Wherewa
- 18:58series and stuff like that. I've, I've participated in, in
- 19:01one of the endurance, you know, a couple of three hours, a
- 19:03couple of five hours. I, I, I think it's, you know,
- 19:08it, it kind of shows you who you are as it tells you the truth
- 19:13about yourself. I kind of thing.
- 19:15What are you guys thoughts on the, the, the the series and,
- 19:18and the weekend that just happened?
- 19:19We'll start with TJ. I mean, yeah, it's it's it's
- 19:24unfortunately I didn't see like the whole race or anything like
- 19:27that. I just saw Eclipse.
- 19:29But overall I think endurance racing is really cool.
- 19:33Definitely got to be in shape and and mentally ready for that.
- 19:378 hours is a very long time and Lamar's 24 hours is just insane.
- 19:43But I think it like we were talking earlier, it should be
- 19:46like market a little more because they don't really know
- 19:49about it. It it seems like it is a series
- 19:51that goes on and we just caught the the last round of it.
- 19:55But just to see Vice in a different aspect, like, you
- 20:00know, you don't think Vice can race that night.
- 20:02You know, like what precautions do you take right at night?
- 20:04Do you do you turn it down from like?
- 20:08You know, mapping 3 to mapping two or something like that.
- 20:11Like take down the RPS a little bit or extra lights.
- 20:14What do you think? I take advice.
- 20:16From all the all the all. The riders, they got all the
- 20:22lights on their bikes in the city, you know, So I mean, and
- 20:24then it's just pretty cool to see though.
- 20:26So I think it it should bring more attention to it.
- 20:30So definitely next year going into the series, I'm going to
- 20:34definitely, you know, watch it with the mods first.
- 20:36It seems like it usually is. And for some reason Suzuki is
- 20:40the biggest one, which I we were talking about, I thought was the
- 20:43only one as well. But like we was talking about
- 20:46there's a whole series. So it was really cool.
- 20:49Right. Reese, what are your thoughts?
- 20:51You know your guys ever think about going to go do some of
- 20:53these endurance races? No, you got to be in shape for
- 20:59that, man. You got to be mentally prepared,
- 21:02physically prepared. I mean, that's that's a lot. 24
- 21:05hours and 8 hours. I mean, I don't know if
- 21:08anybody's riding a bike for 8 hours, but that's a lot.
- 21:12I've ridden behind Lewis for about an hour and I was dead.
- 21:18So it's not, it's not something easy.
- 21:21I mean, I didn't get a chance to see the four AI saw a couple of
- 21:24it, bits of it, but I think it's pretty neat.
- 21:27You know, like you, like I said, I need to advertise a little bit
- 21:29more, you know, and make it a little bit more public so we all
- 21:32can. A lot of people can watch it
- 21:34more and bring it, bring it more to the forefront instead of just
- 21:39kind of talking about it. But I think it'd be nice to
- 21:42actually go see it personally, me and myself, you know, I
- 21:45think. You know, I don't know if you
- 21:48saw the clip where one guy's bike, he crashed and the bike
- 21:52caught on fire. And I mean, the bike is like a
- 21:54like a like a barn fire and he's running to the bike like he can
- 21:58get on for a second. Like, you know, what is that
- 22:00with riders? Are they just in in a different
- 22:02space that they don't like see like there's a big ball of flame
- 22:06they run into? Well, no, they do see it, but
- 22:08their, their, their mindset is like, Hey, if I can get it back
- 22:11to the pit, at least ride it back to the pit and get it
- 22:14fixed. Like if there's a red flag, I
- 22:16can get back in the race. You know, that's their mindset.
- 22:19Always get that bike back to us to get it fixed to get it so we
- 22:22can get, you know, they can get back in the race just in case
- 22:25there is a red flag. And normally sometimes, a lot of
- 22:28times if they crash bad or anything like that, they're
- 22:31going to red flag it. But if they can ride it back on
- 22:33their own power, they can actually, you know, repeat.
- 22:37That's that's, that's one repair job right there, Lewis.
- 22:41Ask you just off. Ask yourself here, because I
- 22:45didn't notice until the crash that you know the guy, the
- 22:48writers, their their suit light up and stuff like that.
- 22:52Can you talk a little bit about that and and also what your
- 22:54thoughts on the race? Yeah.
- 22:56Well, the technology, well, when you're doing endurance racing
- 22:59specifically, and it's endurance racing that you got to, you got
- 23:03to consider the weather becomes a factor in endurance racing
- 23:07over the long stretch. So you might start, it's sunny
- 23:10and 45 minutes in, it starts to rain, it gets dark, it gets
- 23:13cloudy. If you're racing overnight, like
- 23:15in the Le Mans 24 Hour, you're racing overnight and a lot of
- 23:18these tracks aren't equipped with lights.
- 23:20So the only light you have are with the few lights that are on
- 23:23the track and the lights that are on your bike.
- 23:25So in the event you crash, you want some way to be seen.
- 23:29Because if you crash in the middle of the darkness and
- 23:31somebody's coming around the the turn behind you at full pop and
- 23:35they didn't see you crash and you're laying on the track, you
- 23:38become a speed bump. So you know, we used to have a
- 23:41suit that actually had an LED on the back of the hump and if you
- 23:44crash and the airbag went off, the LED would start blinking.
- 23:47So that way people can kind of see that you're on the ground or
- 23:50something like that. But in these particular races
- 23:53where they're going overnights and they have weather
- 23:54conditions, a lot of them do have little LED pieces that they
- 23:57put on their suits and so forth. So in the event they crash, they
- 24:00do start to blink. Some of them actually stay on
- 24:02the entire race or they turn them on and they do all the laps
- 24:05with the light on so that they can just be seen.
- 24:08Because you got to think in an 8 hour endurance race it it's
- 24:14going to show you what you're made of.
- 24:16Like I like to equate it to kind of what Habib Namaganera from
- 24:20MMA said one time. He says he takes people into
- 24:23deep waters and they find out who they really are.
- 24:27And that's what endurance racing does.
- 24:29Endurance racing takes you into deep waters and you get to find
- 24:33out what you're made of. Are you going to make the 8
- 24:36hours? Are you going to make this 24
- 24:38hours? Are you going to be able to
- 24:39rotate with one or two other guys?
- 24:42Because I think some of these teams are usually three riders,
- 24:45sometimes they're two riders. But think about it, 2 riders
- 24:48over 24 hours, you're talking about you're going to split 12
- 24:50hours riding between each other. So you're going to have at least
- 24:53like a 45 to one hour stint in between.
- 24:56And you're still going to have some pit stops in between
- 24:59because you got to change tires, you got to refuel.
- 25:01I mean, you really do go into some deep waters and you find
- 25:04out what you're made of, man, your steel is different.
- 25:07Plus it, it also engages the rest of the team.
- 25:09Because if you think about a normal race, the team preps your
- 25:11bike, you go and they sit back and they hope everything they
- 25:14did works, but it's on you now with pit stops, you know, the
- 25:19team actually becomes a very important part of just the
- 25:22overall race itself, not just sitting back and see what
- 25:25happens, but now they're actually involved in the race.
- 25:27I've always said I would like to see a couple of more rounds in
- 25:31the US that are kind of like Daytona, where pit stops are
- 25:33required because the length of the race is so long.
- 25:37Even if we just do it maybe at one or two tracks, I think it
- 25:41would be that extra bit of like enjoyment and entertainment as a
- 25:46spectator sport. Like if we took the the Coda
- 25:48race for instance, and took it from 22 laps and put it up to 50
- 25:54laps. That would be dope.
- 25:56Let's make. You're trying to make us.
- 25:57You're trying to make us cost more money, man.
- 25:58Let's, hey, let's and all right, we won't have two races this
- 26:03weekend, but we're going to have one long ass race this weekend.
- 26:06It's still the same amount of money as you would with two
- 26:08races, except now it's all happening over the next two
- 26:11hours. We're going to see what team,
- 26:13what bike and what rider is going to be able to to to pull
- 26:17it off because there ain't going to be no chubby riders left,
- 26:20man. These guys are going to have to
- 26:21get on their bikes and make sure they're in shape because you.
- 26:23Have to get rid of those quarter mile mechanics and get these
- 26:26diesel mechanics to be survive 8 hours.
- 26:30I mean, that's a, that's a really different bike than a
- 26:33than a super bike. You add in a pit stop, you add
- 26:36in, you know, a tire change, you do all these things and now, at
- 26:39least for those one or two rounds, you got these extra
- 26:42couple elements. It's one of the reasons I love
- 26:44Daytona. I only love Daytona because of
- 26:46the pit stops because now there's a whole different
- 26:49element that you have to take into account and, and it just
- 26:52you know, it's, it's a different level of excitement, man.
- 26:55You know, a guy could have a good pit stop and all of a
- 26:58sudden gained 3 or 4 spaces or a guy that was walking away with
- 27:01that could have a shit pit stop and all of a sudden, you know,
- 27:05the gaps are all gone and now you got to start fighting again.
- 27:08You can't just walk away and it's a parade for the next 1214
- 27:11laps. No, no, no, it's a race man.
- 27:13It's a race till the checkered flag comes out.
- 27:16Yeah, no, I, I listen. I I did it once and I hope to do
- 27:19some more so you know I have a sign up list guys let me know if
- 27:24you go. Yeah, exactly.
- 27:28Yeah. You want to talk that crap, now
- 27:31you go out there. I got a question though.
- 27:37Why isn't Daytona a part of the Motor America Series?
- 27:41I mean, I know it's like a classic.
- 27:44Oh, OK. Next year, so next year will be.
- 27:47Starting next year, the points, actually there will be points
- 27:50that count towards a championship because this is one
- 27:52of the reasons a lot of the teams haven't been going to
- 27:54Daytona because it's very expensive to go and the points
- 27:58didn't count for the championship.
- 28:00It's very expensive. Two bricks.
- 28:02I mean, dude, just renting one room in Daytona for four days,
- 28:06you're talking thousands of dollars.
- 28:07So if you got a pit crew of like 10 people, mechanics, everything
- 28:11else plus your racers just in hotels, you're going to spend at
- 28:14least 30 grand. Most of the teams actually rent
- 28:16big Airbnb's and Reese. You can you can confirm like
- 28:19most of the teams try to find like 5 or 6 bedroom or three or
- 28:23four bedroom houses and rent the Airbnb and everybody sleeps in
- 28:27the same house because just to try to keep the cost down
- 28:30because a hotel room in Daytona during that stretch.
- 28:33You talking between 3:00 and $600 a night?
- 28:36Yeah, and then you got to think about it.
- 28:38This is another thing that people don't realize and
- 28:41everybody gets pissed. But Daytona, those bikes get
- 28:44used one time for the year. That's it.
- 28:47That's it. You make one bike for one race,
- 28:51that's it. That bike sits in the garage for
- 28:53the rest of the time. So you spent about $60,000 on
- 28:56just one bike for one race? Cerise, tell us how you really
- 29:01feel about the the news coming out.
- 29:04I ain't got nothing to worry about.
- 29:06Supermarket there, I'm good, I'm good.
- 29:10I'll be over there like hey how y'all doing so?
- 29:14I'm just, I'm just glad that I'm going to have like a hospitality
- 29:17suite that I can go eat their food now because.
- 29:19Well, see, now he has a hospitality suite, so that just
- 29:22told me I'm only 30 minutes down the way, so I'm coming to the
- 29:24hospitality suite. No, I was talking about yours.
- 29:28I was going to go eat an attack. Are are you guys not thinking
- 29:33about running the 200 because of that?
- 29:36I mean, or is it just the the Super sport folks need to worry
- 29:39about that? That's just super sport.
- 29:41It's just like when you're when you're.
- 29:43So noun. That is part of the points.
- 29:46It's kind of hard for like just us to just jump in and just do
- 29:49one round because it's part of the points.
- 29:51It doesn't count for us, but then it actually counts for the
- 29:53Super sport guys. And you know, you got your guys
- 29:56getting ready for the Super bike, They're getting ready for
- 29:58the Super bike series, they're getting ready for coming up,
- 30:01what the first round is, what Barber again or Atlanta.
- 30:04So they're getting ready for, you know, we're doing testing
- 30:07and prep and getting ready for that, you know, so it's kind of
- 30:10not pointless for us to go. Right now I, I say, I hear you
- 30:14say it's one bike, but is it really just a, a whole bike?
- 30:17It's not just the engine, not just the tranny, Is it literally
- 30:21just chassis? Everything is is just for that.
- 30:24One bike, that's it. You can't use the same bar.
- 30:28Bar handles nothing. It's got to be a different.
- 30:30Literally, literally, the bike that we ran at Daytona 200, it's
- 30:34still sitting in the shop. It still sits there.
- 30:38Wow. Why though?
- 30:40Why? Because it's just too much to
- 30:42like transfer or it's just what's required at Daytona.
- 30:45It's just too much. So you got suspension, you got
- 30:47tires that certain. You only can run those tires
- 30:50that don't like getting you at Daytona.
- 30:54Then you have a bigger gas tank. You got a bigger gas tank, you
- 30:58know what I mean? You got that, you got
- 30:59everything. It's just everything.
- 31:01Certain pieces on that bike are set up for like a quick change
- 31:05when we got to do the the tire change, it's certain things are
- 31:08set up on there for that. So once you're done with it,
- 31:11what we're going to use that bike for.
- 31:13'Cause you're just going to sit out bike like Top Rock.
- 31:17Yeah, sure. I.
- 31:18Mean, that makes sense. I mean, and Derrick is set up
- 31:21for our endurance, so pretty much so.
- 31:24It's just, it's just a lot if you, there's a interview when I
- 31:28think it was on Instagram that Richie from Ray Hall put out and
- 31:32he was saying how much it's going to cost them to do, you
- 31:36know, for the Daytona 200. Yeah, I think it was like 6080
- 31:39grand just in one bike. So imagine you got 2 riders.
- 31:43There's, you know, 160,000 right there.
- 31:47You just spent, that's just on the bikes now.
- 31:49You still got to bring your riders in.
- 31:51You still got to, you know, you may not have to house them.
- 31:53They can house themselves or then you still got to bring your
- 31:56crew in. You still got to house, you
- 31:58know, make sure they have a room.
- 31:59You still got to, you know, pay for their flights.
- 32:01You still got to pay for their food, their lunch while they're
- 32:03there. What's the next town over?
- 32:07I'm just sleeping the next town over.
- 32:09I mean, the next town over is just expensive in Daytona
- 32:11because remember, it happens during bike week.
- 32:13Yeah, yeah. True.
- 32:15Yeah, I was going to say this too.
- 32:17So I mean, when, as I know, I, I didn't mean to show to go this
- 32:22route, but we might as well talk about it when Azra was running
- 32:26the series, you could just show up on a bike and race it, you
- 32:30know what I'm saying? And now you're looking at these
- 32:32numbers is, you know, is it good for Daytona?
- 32:37Are we going to see fewer riders?
- 32:38Because, you know, listen, man, we talk about sun and people
- 32:42and, and what Top Rock did or, or, you know, stop by Scott
- 32:45Greenwood trying to break people's will.
- 32:47When people hear that, you know, these teams are spending 120 and
- 32:52you know, dudes looking like I got, I got 8 grand.
- 32:55Like, why am I going to go as, as one of these writers who's
- 32:58really fast? But you know how you how do you
- 33:00compete with that? I mean, you want me to answer?
- 33:04I'll answer that. It's just like, OK, so you take
- 33:08the NBA, right? You got the top players.
- 33:11What are they spending on? Nutrition, training, everything
- 33:16else. They're the top guys for a
- 33:18reason, right? You're not running a charity
- 33:20case, you're running, you're in the pros.
- 33:23This is what it is. This is what you got to do,
- 33:25right? You're not here to the pros are
- 33:27here to win, to separate the, you know, the the amateurs or
- 33:32the club rider, right? They're, they're there.
- 33:33It's the same thing what they're doing in the stock 1000 class.
- 33:36You know, people complaining, but you're here to win, you're
- 33:39here to compete. You're in the pro series for a
- 33:42reason. You're not here in the club
- 33:44series. So you want to step up into the
- 33:46pro series. Now this is what you got to
- 33:47compete with. You know, it's this is this is
- 33:50the the nature of the beast. You're in the pros.
- 33:53They're not in the club series no more.
- 33:55And then you get people that want to complain about it.
- 33:57But then when it goes away, you're like, oh, well, it went
- 34:00away. Racing went away.
- 34:02Well, it was just a club race. You can do that anywhere, right.
- 34:06So this is the pros. The Daytona 200 isn't anywhere.
- 34:11It's not anywhere, but it's the pros running it now, right?
- 34:14You everybody got mad when the pros weren't there, so now the
- 34:17pros are here. So it's either hey, you got to
- 34:20step up or hey, here's the bench right here for you.
- 34:24Watch. Take a seat and watch.
- 34:25And here, Dion Sanders tell it, you can't learn anything from
- 34:29the bench. It's sad to say man, so.
- 34:38All right, let's talk about this weekend in in the Motor America
- 34:41Jersey. The last round, I wish I was
- 34:43there. All you 3 guys are going to be
- 34:45there. I think Reese is probably going
- 34:47to lose the most weight, you know what I'm saying?
- 34:52But let's talk about Jersey. We'll hear from TJ and and Lewis
- 34:57and then we'll talk to Reese. I think it's your second year
- 35:00going, TJ. So what does like Jersey mean
- 35:03for you? And checking out Motor America
- 35:05and kind of I know who your guy is, are we all know who your guy
- 35:08is. So we don't have to necessarily.
- 35:10We already know who you want to win so.
- 35:17Who is it? Who is it?
- 35:19Right. What are you talking about?
- 35:23Come on man, is not. Your guy.
- 35:24Oh, God, yeah. Don't do that to me right now.
- 35:26Don't. Do that.
- 35:30Don't do that to me in front of recent.
- 35:35We got. We got people that listen to the
- 35:38show. Yeah, the big.
- 35:39Heron fans that listen man, no, no, no, I'm a, I'm a like I
- 35:42said, I'm a Josh Heron fan before I got into racing like
- 35:46that was my guy and I actually went to a Ducati event, was on
- 35:50the track with them. So like, and I had conversations
- 35:53with them. He used my toolbox and all that
- 35:55good stuff. So I had a little site, you
- 35:57know, talk with him and stuff like that.
- 36:00But he. He stole your time, didn't he?
- 36:03No. No.
- 36:04You. Know, I don't know what he was
- 36:09using actually he was trying to install a camera onto his bike
- 36:13and. He needed some.
- 36:15Yeah, so, but anyway, but yeah, I definitely like to root for,
- 36:20you know, Yamaha as well. Bobby Foley's been doing really
- 36:23well. Like he surprised me from the
- 36:25time he joined the team. Like I didn't expect him to be
- 36:28runner, you know, in the league of the championship.
- 36:30So so I'm definitely going to be ruined for Bobby falling for
- 36:34one. But you know, Josh Herman at the
- 36:36end of the day is my guy. So like, I know how hard he's
- 36:38going to try. And like he said, all the
- 36:41excuses he's going to give to the story that's going on.
- 36:43He doesn't want to lose his number one plate.
- 36:46So like he's going to do whatever he can to try to
- 36:49survive throughout the season. So it's going to be 3 races this
- 36:53weekend. It's going to be interesting.
- 36:54But you know, Ducati or Yamaha, that's what I'm going for it.
- 36:58But I'm Bobby pulls it out the shows.
- 37:00All right, all right, balance answer, man, I'm a big fan of
- 37:04the Jersey track. I'm not going to lie, when I
- 37:06first got there, it was it was weird for me and doing enough
- 37:10races on it. I'm a really big fan of that
- 37:13track. It should be a fun and
- 37:15entertaining time. What are your thoughts, Lewis?
- 37:17I know you're kind of, we don't want to tell anybody you're
- 37:19going to be working, but you're going to be working I'm.
- 37:21Going to be working. I usually when I, I, I, I watch
- 37:25the races, but in between, like I'm pretty much working.
- 37:30I mean, Bobby's my boy, obviously.
- 37:32So, you know, I want him to win. Bobby's been in the series for a
- 37:35long time and I've known Bobby way longer than I should, to be
- 37:39honest with you. And, and you know, I, I've seen
- 37:43him struggle. I've seen his hard times trying
- 37:46to get rise, trying to, you know, be competitive and
- 37:49everything. And last year he had a really
- 37:51great opportunity with the wrench team and he really showed
- 37:54that. He rededicated himself to the
- 37:56sport and and show some, you know, some real flashes of
- 38:00brilliance last year and he was lucky enough to get the ride
- 38:04this year with Yamaha. And you know, he knows that or
- 38:08he knew at the beginning of the year like it was a one year
- 38:11deal. So he just had to kind of come
- 38:13into the series in the best shape that he's ever been in and
- 38:17focus everything he can. And and that's what he did, man.
- 38:20I mean, you know, during the offseason he worked out
- 38:24constantly. Every day he worked out.
- 38:26I mean, he lost, I want to say he lost about 18 lbs during the
- 38:31offseason. Like he trimmed down, he got in
- 38:33great shape. Like he really dedicated his
- 38:37life to this man. And it would be great if he can,
- 38:40if he can pull this one out man. But if he can't, I mean, the
- 38:43other person that I'm really happy for is is Cameron
- 38:46Beaulier, because the last couple of years, I mean, Cameron
- 38:49Beaubieu is a multi time US champion.
- 38:52He went to Moto 2 and he had a wretched time in Moto 2.
- 38:55He never really was able to put anything together.
- 38:58Then he came back here and you know, he's not on what you would
- 39:02consider the best equipment. I mean, everybody thinks that
- 39:04BMW is great. The BMW is great, but you know,
- 39:07you can hear from the people that ride it.
- 39:09It's also a hard bike to ride, man.
- 39:11The bike is not an easy bike to ride.
- 39:14And he's had a couple of hard years with a lot of injuries.
- 39:17So if he was able to pull it out also and Bobby didn't, I'd still
- 39:21be happy for him too. Because you know, these two
- 39:24guys, I've known them in a long time.
- 39:25I've talked to them a lot and you know, they're both in it for
- 39:29the love of the game. And you know, neither one of
- 39:31them has any guarantees for next year.
- 39:34Neither one of them knows where, where they're riding next year
- 39:36or even if they're riding at this point, even going into the
- 39:39last round. So both of them are going to be,
- 39:42you know, really trying to put it all out there.
- 39:44And the thing with both of them is if you watch them race, even
- 39:47at CODA, even when the two of them were dicing it up, they
- 39:50were real clean about it, man. They weren't trying to push each
- 39:52other off the track or do anything sketchy to each other.
- 39:56Like they had this mutual respect in the way that they
- 39:58raced each other. They raced hard, but they raced
- 40:00clean. And that's what I want to see,
- 40:02man. If these two guys can get out
- 40:03front and really race each other hard and clean, you you know
- 40:08Jersey is not a high speed track.
- 40:11So horsepower is not the end all and be all.
- 40:14So the BMW is not just going to be able to get on the throttle
- 40:16and pull away. It's a technique track, it's a
- 40:19style track, it's a technical track and it doesn't have a lot
- 40:23of passing areas. So you got to be super clean
- 40:25because if you don't pass clean, I mean, you will take yourself
- 40:28out as well as somebody else. So it's going to be really great
- 40:31to just, you know, some people don't like Jersey at the end of
- 40:35the year because the weather always sucks.
- 40:38Knock on wood. It looks like it's going to hold
- 40:40out this year and I hope that we get a great, you know, 3 races,
- 40:45man, there's three races this weekend, right, right.
- 40:48So it's not just, you know, Saturday and Sunday, there's
- 40:50like a third race that if the points are still there,
- 40:53literally we can have three nail biting one after the other races
- 40:58throughout the weekend. And I'm looking forward to it,
- 41:00man, I'm, I'm hoping, I'm hoping my boy comes in, it comes
- 41:04through because like, I know how much it means to him, man, you
- 41:07know, I talk to him almost every day and I just know how much
- 41:12it'll mean to him. No, I, I I can only imagine.
- 41:16And Reese, you probably know it better than all of us.
- 41:19You know, I'm trying to think of a basketball analogy.
- 41:22I think of like, you know, the Spurs and, you know, Kawhi
- 41:25winning young and then going to Toronto and nobody thought like
- 41:29he would have got anything would have happened in Toronto and he
- 41:32got one in Toronto. I mean, this is, you know, this
- 41:36is, you know, this is, I don't want to say it's a fairy tale,
- 41:39but you know, you know, dreamers, you know, they, they,
- 41:43they, they get their chance. And you know, you guys saw
- 41:47something in them, signed them. And I, I can't imagine any of
- 41:51you guys. And if you did say it, and I
- 41:52don't know if you can say it on air, might have joked about it,
- 41:55but like, hey, this guy is going to be competing for the
- 41:57championship at the end of the season when you signed them.
- 42:01But like now you are a you know, he's leading the points.
- 42:06You know, it can we will find out this weekend.
- 42:10But what are your thoughts on how he's doing?
- 42:12You know, when you signed him, when you guys signed him to
- 42:15where he is now? And and can you guys believe it
- 42:18was it Like, you know, you just knew this.
- 42:20I mean, you did talk about it, but you kind of have to talk
- 42:22about it, right? You can't you can't sit here and
- 42:24get on air and be like, yeah, we're not going to make it this
- 42:26year. You got to lie to yourself
- 42:28before you start seeing it, right?
- 42:31Because I have to do it. You know, it's like, you know
- 42:33what I mean? I'm saying here reaching out to
- 42:35Lewis like, hey, yeah, you want to come on the show a year ago
- 42:37and, and, and, you know, now, now look at us now.
- 42:40So, you know, you know, life is about dreaming.
- 42:43So you know what? What are your thoughts, Reese?
- 42:47I mean, you got to look at last year, you got to look at the
- 42:49year Bobby had on a wrench team. I mean, you knew signing him
- 42:52that he was going to be one of the top contenders coming in.
- 42:54I mean that he did some things on that R1 that nobody else was
- 42:58doing. Our guys were hurt, you know,
- 43:02Jake and and Cam P was was hurt or and then Jake stepped away to
- 43:07get his, you know, stuff, you know, repaired and we had our
- 43:10substitutions. But knowing him coming in and
- 43:13when we signed him, we knew he could compete for the top spot
- 43:16and the top guys. A lot of people, a lot of teams
- 43:20had us, you know, checked out saying, you know, we're not
- 43:24going to win. So for us to be here, we're just
- 43:27we're we're enjoying the moment and we're going to go for it as
- 43:30as best we can. You know, we always know that
- 43:33we're going to compete and we come every weekend to compete.
- 43:39You know, we don't, we don't, we don't bring nothing a week and
- 43:41we, we bring everything we got and say, hey, let's go.
- 43:44And you know, we let's make the R1 great again.
- 43:50You guys don't bring any Team Wu chains with you.
- 43:53No, I don't bring the Team Wu chains.
- 43:57Yeah, we don't need that. Bring the good.
- 43:58Stuff breaking. Not nothing, but the good stuff.
- 44:02So you know, what is the mood like Reese man, for this
- 44:05weekend? As much as you can give out.
- 44:07Obviously weather may play a big part.
- 44:09I haven't checked the satellite to see if there's going to be
- 44:12any rain and stuff like that. But is it business as usual or
- 44:17is it kind of, it depends after the first practice and see what
- 44:20people's times are and stuff like that and then you know, the
- 44:23game plan happens from there? No, as it goes in as business as
- 44:27usual. I mean, if it rains, it rains.
- 44:30I mean that R1 in the in the wet is one of the most dominant
- 44:33bikes in the wet. And I mean rich is going to make
- 44:36you a wet specialist. I mean, he in that bike in the
- 44:39wet is is phenomenal. Bobby used to didn't like the
- 44:43wet. Now he doesn't mind the wet, you
- 44:45know, so we we were come in business usual.
- 44:49If it's rain or shine, that's that's just go.
- 44:53Right Lewis who who's taking it? You know, we we we you know TJ
- 44:59got Heron is is your money on? I mean, you have, I guess you
- 45:04got to say Bobby, you can't say I.
- 45:06Got yeah, I got to say Bobby, man, like, you know, I have to
- 45:08put all my chips in on Bobby because again, man, three years
- 45:13ago, Bobby wasn't even racing, man, you know, And then he got
- 45:17an opportunity to race a couple of baggers to make some quick
- 45:20money doing the dash for cash and things like that.
- 45:23And that kind of evolved into doing more baggers the following
- 45:26year. And that kind of evolved into
- 45:28him getting the wrench ride. And so, you know, the past 3-4
- 45:32years for Bobby, I mean, unemployed, employed,
- 45:35unemployed, you know, racing a bagger hoping to win 5000 bucks
- 45:41so he can, you know, pay some bills.
- 45:43Like he's, he's had a real tumultuous last few years and,
- 45:47and, and, and dude, I mean, this is, this is his, his
- 45:53opportunity. I mean, you know, you don't get
- 45:55too many bites of the carrot at this age.
- 45:57I had to say, you know, Bobby's in his 30s and you know, in your
- 46:0030s, you don't get a ton of bites in the carrots with a lot
- 46:03of young kids coming up. So I really hope he pulls it
- 46:06out, man. I hope everything comes together
- 46:08and you know, he, he's able to do it, man.
- 46:11Hey drinks and drinks on TJ. We win too.
- 46:16I got you, I got you. I'll be there till the last race
- 46:20and I'll see what happens. No doubt and I I want to shout
- 46:23out to Nathan Bettencourt and I hope he does well.
- 46:27He had a giveaway last night for some tickets and be forever cool
- 46:32one. I was able to donate those
- 46:34tickets to TJ and he's going to show up and and stuff like that.
- 46:39I mean, hopefully we'll we'll have him on the show in the near
- 46:41future. He's a young and up and coming
- 46:44before we get into Moto GP. Speaking of young and up and
- 46:46coming, Donna CEO has on social media is if it's to be believed,
- 46:54he wants more people in Moto GP other than the Italians in the
- 46:59Spaniards. What are you guys thoughts on
- 47:01that? Because I'm thinking some
- 47:02Jamaicans already. Yeah, my side of the team, the
- 47:06the side of the team, but no, like, yeah, I mean, it needs to
- 47:12be diverse more, you know, it was just just, I don't know, I
- 47:17just feel like it should be more diverse.
- 47:19And obviously you have to be up to speed and, and be competitive
- 47:25because like, you know, if you, if you're not fast enough, you
- 47:28can't be out there. But, you know, develop A-Team
- 47:31and and make it more diverse. Well, it's good to hear and say
- 47:34that. And then not, not to cut off
- 47:37real quick, but yeah, I was going to North America anyway.
- 47:41But I appreciate that in court, like we get those tickets.
- 47:44So I appreciate your rights for that.
- 47:46That's what's up, that's what's up.
- 47:47What are your what are your thoughts, Reese on on on that?
- 47:50I mean, is it is lip service because like TJS say, man, you
- 47:54got it. You got to have the pace.
- 47:55You can't. I mean, it's, it's, you know,
- 47:57there's some things in life that you can show up and, and maybe
- 48:00not be, you know, good at, you know, like maybe making coffee
- 48:04and burgers, but you know, it like there's a lot more that
- 48:09goes behind being good enough to compete at that level.
- 48:15A Stanka, you're dead, man. We might have a team, but I
- 48:23mean, there is a lot more than just to, you know, just to
- 48:26showing up and race. I mean you got to have pace.
- 48:29You got to have, you know, the, the, the right crew behind you,
- 48:32you know, the people you could trust.
- 48:34I mean, because, you know, at the end of the day, the the
- 48:36riders are just riders. They're just there.
- 48:39You know, they're, they're entrusting their team to put the
- 48:42bike together, the guys that have this bike ready for them
- 48:45and not kill them, you know, so they're entrusting those guys
- 48:48that have this bike up and running just like our guys are.
- 48:51So I mean, there's a lot more just to show up.
- 48:54So I mean, there's a lot of fast guys out here.
- 48:59But at the end of the day, it's I look at it like just as any
- 49:01sport, you know, we could be out here working, they're out there
- 49:04just practicing doing what they got to do.
- 49:06So you got to put the time and effort and then put the work and
- 49:10pave your way and pay a little bit to get that practice in and
- 49:13just go forward. Just put all put all your money
- 49:15and chips in one basket and say, hey, we're going to try this
- 49:17out. You're listening man, all the
- 49:20yachties out there that think y'all fast it's a hard time.
- 49:24Cool runnings. You want to kiss my egg, man?
- 49:29I think it's a great notion, but you know, it's, it's just words
- 49:34until they until there's actual actions and until there's
- 49:37actually a plan. Because the reason that the
- 49:39Spaniards and the Italians dominate is because, you know,
- 49:42these kids are indoctrinated into motorcycle racing at a very
- 49:45young age. And there's an infrastructure in
- 49:48both of those countries that nurture that talent.
- 49:52You know, you can race a little pocket bike.
- 49:54There's areas for them to race pocket bikes every weekend.
- 49:58There's opportunities for them to come up racing and to to kind
- 50:01of grow with the sport and to evolve over time.
- 50:05And, you know, this is part of the culture of those particular
- 50:09countries, I mean, and several other countries in Europe, but
- 50:12we don't have that here in the US.
- 50:14There's no infrastructure here in the US for that kind of
- 50:16support. I mean, we have mini GPS and we
- 50:18have all these little go Kart tracks that do like mini motos
- 50:22and things like that. But it, you know, it really
- 50:25takes a lot of time and money. And then the other thing is, if
- 50:28you look at on the inside, Dorna needs to fix some things on the
- 50:32inside as well. There's not enough manufacturers
- 50:35in Moto GP, There's not enough bikes, there's not enough seats.
- 50:39You know, there's limited opportunities even for the
- 50:41riders in Moto 2 now from the countries that are all competing
- 50:45in Moto 2 now, do I want to see more diversity?
- 50:48Yeah, I'd like to see more people of of different colors,
- 50:52different races, different backgrounds, different
- 50:54countries. You know, I would like to see,
- 50:56you know, you know, someone like Top Rack is going to be a Moto
- 51:00GP. Like that's great for the Moto
- 51:01GP because this introduces Moto GP to an entire segment of the
- 51:05world that has nobody to root for.
- 51:08You know, you got Morbidelli that was raised in Italy, but he
- 51:11has Brazilian roots. Like that's the only person from
- 51:13all of South America. You're going to tell me
- 51:15throughout all Mexico, South America and Central America,
- 51:18there's not another talent. We have talent here in the US
- 51:22but, you know, nobody's giving them seats.
- 51:24Nobody. Nobody's giving them
- 51:25opportunities. So I think if, if the Dorner
- 51:29really wants to see this, there needs to be some money and some
- 51:32incentive behind it. You know, maybe Dorner puts some
- 51:36money where their mouth is. And hey, if you bring in a rider
- 51:41from the US or you bring in a rider from one of these other
- 51:45countries, we'll give you some sort of financial support.
- 51:49We'll give you this and that, you know, we'll something to
- 51:52incentivize the teams to look outside of the normal pools
- 51:55where they look. Because if you're not going to
- 51:57incentivize them, if they still have to pay what they have to
- 51:59pay, then they're not going to take risks on people.
- 52:03They're going to go where it's the easiest path, the path, the
- 52:06least resistance and where there's a big talent pool.
- 52:08They're not going to look outside of Italy and Spain and
- 52:11France and so forth and so on. So that's that's my only thing
- 52:15is if Dorno is really serious about this, there has to be
- 52:19money behind it, not just words, because words don't mean
- 52:22anything until somebody shows up with a checkbook.
- 52:25And and if you're a stunt rider out there, and if.
- 52:27You're a stunt rider. Yeah.
- 52:29Start looking, man. Stop going to track.
- 52:31Man, and I have something to piggyback on with Lee.
- 52:35I got something to piggy on back with Lou.
- 52:37It's like, you know, he's correct.
- 52:38You know, they do need some more manufacturers out here.
- 52:41But again, you know, Lou's correct and, and I tell
- 52:45everybody, you know, from being on the inside, it actually a lot
- 52:49of people don't understand this, but it actually starts with us
- 52:52as as consumers, as fans as anyone, It starts with us.
- 52:57You want the manufacturers out there, you have to go 1.
- 53:01You have to go to the race and you have to stop.
- 53:04You have to stop buying bikes from second hand because if you
- 53:09don't buy, yeah, bikes are expensive.
- 53:11They're a shit ton of money. We all understand that even if
- 53:14you just buy the little bikes, just buy a little bike, it
- 53:17doesn't matter what kind of bike you buy, you buy it brand new.
- 53:20That's where the money comes from for the manufacturers say,
- 53:23OK, let's go race. We have money to spend.
- 53:26So if you don't, if you're not buying the bike, you sit there
- 53:28and talk. You talk, you say I want to buy
- 53:30it and you're buying it from a second hand.
- 53:31Oh, I bought this. But it's a Yamaha that does
- 53:33nothing for the manufacturer. They already got their money
- 53:36from the person pay for it the first time.
- 53:39So you buying a second hand from a dealer or whatever, use the
- 53:43money that you're buying. It is just going to the dealer
- 53:46or to that person. So you have to buy new and start
- 53:50getting out here and support to get the manufacturers back.
- 53:54Just sitting back talking trash and want to see it and want to
- 53:58understand it. They're not going to do it.
- 53:59A lot of people think that the manufacturers got money.
- 54:02They don't. They ain't got the money.
- 54:04That's why Cali's sitting back. I I I agree with you, buy more
- 54:07new bikes because that way used bikes can be a lot cheaper.
- 54:10Used bikes are just way too expensive.
- 54:12I'm sorry. It is the market.
- 54:14The market has changed and to, to, I found out that Cali wants
- 54:22to, to build a new one, but to build a new platform, a new
- 54:25power plant, because everything is the lightweight now, the
- 54:28lightweight crankshaft, the lightweight Pistons, everything.
- 54:31It's going to cost them about $2,000,000 just to build a new
- 54:34platform in that part. So that gives you an idea on
- 54:40what money they're spending. It's just to build something for
- 54:42us to have in these streets. Yeah, yeah, that's the main
- 54:46thing. A lot, a lot of a lot of our
- 54:47fans, a lot of the people in this industry, a lot of fellow
- 54:51riders, they don't, they don't understand that we vote with our
- 54:55with our wallets. That's the that's the only vote
- 54:58that we have. That's the only real say we have
- 55:00is how we use our wallets and when we go out there.
- 55:04And you know, I understand if you're a new rider, you're going
- 55:06to look for a used bike or something inexpensive, but a new
- 55:10bike is maybe a couple of 1000 bucks more.
- 55:13But it'll be your bike. You're the first owner.
- 55:16You can go through that experience of building it the
- 55:18way you want, learn on it and kind of evolve from there.
- 55:22Used bikes are great. I mean, I've owned a bunch of
- 55:24used bikes, but I've also owned a bunch of new bikes, you know,
- 55:27and, and there's got to be a little bit of a mix.
- 55:29We can't just keep recycling used bikes between each other
- 55:33for eternity. Because if you look at what's
- 55:35happened over the past 10 years, there's been less development in
- 55:40new bikes because new bike sales are not where they should be.
- 55:44The only company that is actively investing in new bike
- 55:48technology over and over seems to be Ducati.
- 55:51Why? Because they're selling a lot of
- 55:52Ducatis. Not right now, but they have
- 55:55been. But there's, they've been
- 55:57selling a lot of Ducatis. And as they sell Ducatis, they
- 55:59can race more, they can develop more bikes.
- 56:01They can do this and that. So, you know, it's what comes
- 56:05first, the chicken or the egg. Well, without buying new bikes,
- 56:08these companies aren't going to invest in our sport because
- 56:12we're not investing in our sport.
- 56:14So it it it's an important thing.
- 56:16And, and you know, another part of that that you know, I'm
- 56:19starting to see in the, you know, the meet up, bike meet up
- 56:23community. I, I feel that it may be a
- 56:26little bit in track community too.
- 56:27If you're a new rider and you have a bad experience, you take
- 56:31that with you forever and, and, and, and, and you become this
- 56:35other creature when somebody is trying to promote the sport, you
- 56:40know, you're the, you're the, you're like the, the grumpy old
- 56:42men on The Muppets just complaining about everything and
- 56:44stuff like that. And and that's, that's, that's
- 56:46unfortunate because that that Jay's the community.
- 56:49We know, we know all these things happen And but it we have
- 56:52to find a way to give new riders a better experience because
- 56:58once, once they once they go sideways that they ain't coming
- 57:01back and then they go tell everybody that they're, you
- 57:04know, that they whatever motorcycles are not for you or
- 57:07something like that. Like I had a guy complain at me
- 57:12on IG saying that, oh, there's a bunch of manufacturers over in
- 57:16world super bike. I'm like, there's none.
- 57:17They're all factory supportive. But it's, it's that one person
- 57:22that's going to go tell the next person that go tell this for and
- 57:25it just spreads like a disease. And it's like, instead of
- 57:28sitting there doing your research and look at it or
- 57:30listen to a person that's been in the industry.
- 57:33I've been in the industry now since 96, it is now.
- 57:37So take my advice. It's it's, it's there's a lot
- 57:40that goes on that people don't see.
- 57:43No doubt. And Speaking of Ducati, they
- 57:46just released a new V4. What can?
- 57:50I the V4R, the V4, great, great. More money, no.
- 57:54What I mean, what's money? Reese, come on, You're you're
- 57:58you're in the top level of Motor America.
- 58:01Come on, what's money? A lot.
- 58:06But you know what I that? Trophy over this weekend is
- 58:08going to be more than that. I say about Ducati, listen, it's
- 58:12nice to be partners with Lambeau and Volkswagen Group, ain't it?
- 58:16It is. It is.
- 58:17I. Got I got some Volkswagen stock,
- 58:21don't worry, because especially if if they didn't have the back
- 58:27end, they would be more closer to MV Augusta or Aprilia if they
- 58:31didn't have the if they didn't have the back end.
- 58:32And, and, and that's the biggest thing because where their tech
- 58:35can compete with with the Japanese.
- 58:39That's that's that's that's all you know, St. money.
- 58:44That's exactly what it is. I mean, it's good for Ducati
- 58:47that they can build a bike that sells for 50K and they can
- 58:51actually sell the bike, right? That's all right.
- 58:54You know, I mean, Yamaha builds an R1M that's $24,000 and people
- 58:58like what? For Yamaha, when somebody comes
- 59:03out with a Ducati that's 50 grand, it's like, where do I
- 59:05sign on the dotted line? It's like wait a.
- 59:07Second, working in a dealership. My, I got my, I got my red
- 59:11floor. I'm like dude, you could have
- 59:13just got the R. But but from working in the
- 59:16dealership, I used to hear people say that a lot.
- 59:19Like why would I spend 24 grand on an R1 when I can spend 24
- 59:23grand and get a Ducati and be part of the elite family?
- 59:27So here's here used to be my retort when I when I was P&M at
- 59:32a dealership is just because you can afford to buy something.
- 59:35Doesn't mean you can. Afford to own something.
- 59:38Right. Or you can't afford the
- 59:40maintenance. Exactly.
- 59:42A Yamaha might be, you know, a few thousand, a Yamaha R1 M
- 59:45might be a few 1000 less than this Ducati.
- 59:48But when it comes to maintenance, you know, that's
- 59:52when it's going to hit you. And luckily here Ducati has
- 59:55evolved the technology. Before they went to the chain
- 59:58driven and they were just belt driven and you had to do a
- 1:00:01decimal service like every so many 1000 miles.
- 1:00:05And. It was painful.
- 1:00:07If I read if I read right it's 24K no matter how long you have
- 1:00:12the bike warranty. Right, 24.
- 1:00:15So Ducati, you got to service it year, annually or by miles no
- 1:00:20matter what. And you got to do the decimal at
- 1:00:22that point at that certain mall. And that decimal service is
- 1:00:26expensive. So I mean, you know, and a lot
- 1:00:29of people going to put 24K on their Ducati, so you know, a lot
- 1:00:33of service is going to be free. But let's move on to Motegi
- 1:00:35before we get out of here. Japan.
- 1:00:39Yes, I can't wait to go. It's one of my to bucket lists
- 1:00:44places to go watch Moto GP and and just appreciate the the
- 1:00:47country as well. What are your thoughts?
- 1:00:50I mean, history could be made as far as Mark Marquez winning the
- 1:00:53championship in Motegi. It sounds like it.
- 1:00:56He's probably already consoling his brother, saying look, Alex,
- 1:00:59I waited long enough, man, come on, man.
- 1:01:01I, I look, man, look, man, look, look, I got to do it, you know.
- 1:01:05What are your thoughts? Is it, is it going to be done or
- 1:01:08are we going to see some riders push him to the next round?
- 1:01:12No, it's done. It's done.
- 1:01:15I mean, at at this point of the the season, I mean, Mark's
- 1:01:19pretty much stayed up the whole year.
- 1:01:22You know, he hasn't gone down. I used to go down on the Honda.
- 1:01:27I think his brother has to. I mean, it's like a three-point
- 1:01:30difference or something that has to be all scored or something
- 1:01:32like that. But we're going to see another
- 1:01:35champion this weekend. So we're going to see a champion
- 1:01:37Moto America, we're going to see a champion Moto GP.
- 1:01:40That's going to be a good weekend.
- 1:01:43But I'm hoping KTM can redeem themselves also for having a
- 1:01:48terrible weekend. But it looks like from last year
- 1:01:50they had one of the fastest times, so we'll see how how how
- 1:01:57it plays out. But we're going to have a
- 1:01:58champion as much. We got 3 champions, the crown
- 1:02:01this weekend, Super Sport, Super Bike and Moto GP.
- 1:02:04That's it. All right, all right.
- 1:02:07So that's it, huh? And and only one of the three is
- 1:02:10is not pretty much guaranteed because.
- 1:02:13The other two are pretty much. Guaranteed.
- 1:02:15Pretty much serious. You want to elaborate for people
- 1:02:19who are listening that may question with this?
- 1:02:26I. I don't see.
- 1:02:28I don't see Matthew, I don't see Matthew Schultz not winning the
- 1:02:31championship at Jersey and and I don't see Mark Marquez not
- 1:02:35winning the championship at Mutegi when he only leads three
- 1:02:38points. Got you.
- 1:02:39So the only one that's up for real debate or with nail biting
- 1:02:43is the Super bike championship in Motor America because it's
- 1:02:46it's razor razor thin, man. But looking at the weather for
- 1:02:50Mutegi this weekend, it looks in the low 80s, partly cloudy and
- 1:02:56maybe some AM showers on Sunday, but other than that looks clean
- 1:03:01marks. One there in the dry marks, one
- 1:03:02there in the wet marks. Won several championships there,
- 1:03:05so not much more to say man. Yeah, I I don't go ahead.
- 1:03:13I don't see, I don't see any way that he gets out of this weekend
- 1:03:17without three more points than his brother.
- 1:03:19Like that's, that's, that's insane.
- 1:03:21Three points, man. I mean.
- 1:03:24I sneeze and get 3 points. I can get sneeze in three or
- 1:03:27three points. He's won three times, never got
- 1:03:30pole position, you know, so and. Clinched 2 championships.
- 1:03:35There he did. I mean, you know, it was.
- 1:03:37Listen, it was. We won't talk about the one
- 1:03:39with. What that that should have told
- 1:03:41you right there. When you say he's never hit pole
- 1:03:44and still won, what else you need to say?
- 1:03:49Fair enough, fair enough. That's in the cover that.
- 1:03:56Ducati's been generally strong there, so it's possible that
- 1:03:59some of the writers may show up. It's, you know, I mean.
- 1:04:05No. No, no, I will say this because,
- 1:04:08you know, I'm I'm the youngest that to my knowledge, Pops
- 1:04:11hasn't told me otherwise. So you know.
- 1:04:15I'm, I'm waiting for Alex to like, listen, all right, man,
- 1:04:18come on, man. Like the young, the youngest got
- 1:04:20it, like Michael Jackson. I mean, there's, there's so many
- 1:04:22youngest. I I like, you know, he, you know
- 1:04:25what I'm saying? He, he might, he might be able
- 1:04:28to, you know, take out his brother and and, and finish the
- 1:04:31race. Nah.
- 1:04:36I got a better chance of hitting a lot.
- 1:04:37Of give them the the the Rossi in the corners just kick them
- 1:04:40off let them look at them before they keep going.
- 1:04:44I'm sorry bro, just. Just just crash into them at
- 1:04:47the, you know, take. Off nobody got to get points.
- 1:04:53I got I got a better chance of hitting the lottery.
- 1:04:59But I mean, you know, I, I got to assume you got to be tough
- 1:05:01for Alex, you know, because, you know, outside of his brother,
- 1:05:07you know what I'm saying? And, and I guess maybe this
- 1:05:09might have been the first time that he's had to compete with
- 1:05:11his brother as well, because Mark was kind of always ahead of
- 1:05:14him. So he was always just kind of
- 1:05:15chasing Mark. So it's the first time that
- 1:05:18they're in the same class on, on, you know, at the at, you
- 1:05:21know, 1 and 2. So psychologically that that,
- 1:05:24you know, even though he shows like he's cool as a cucumber,
- 1:05:28you know, it has to be difficult.
- 1:05:29And even you see with Mark and saying, you know, like the, you
- 1:05:32know, even when not Mazano, the round before Mazano is like, if
- 1:05:35I won in this round, you know, that means Alex didn't do well
- 1:05:39and, and stuff like that. So I mean, I, you know, we've
- 1:05:41heard it from Serena and Venus when they had to compete against
- 1:05:44each other and stuff like that for championships and and
- 1:05:47whatnot. I mean, you know, as parents, I
- 1:05:49can't imagine like, like, like what, you know, dad can't be
- 1:05:52winking at Mark, you know, while hugging Alex, like, no, you
- 1:05:57know, this got to be it's a tough thing And and you know,
- 1:05:59and cool as well for Moto GP. I say yeah, listen, you want to
- 1:06:08go D? Yeah, yeah, you got it.
- 1:06:11I mean it's got to be tough for him but I mean at the same time,
- 1:06:15you know, Mark, I mean not Mark. Alex hasn't really done that
- 1:06:17great over his GP career. So it's like you can kind of
- 1:06:22take the good and the bad. I mean, he's like, yeah, it's
- 1:06:24tough. I got to be behind my brother.
- 1:06:26But at the same time it shows what what I can do and what I,
- 1:06:29you know, what kind of riding capability I have, you know,
- 1:06:33that I've been yearning for to show people that I can do.
- 1:06:36You know, I'm up here battling with the, you know, the eight
- 1:06:41time champion, my brother, I'm battling with him.
- 1:06:43I'm one and two with him. So it shows the competitive
- 1:06:46nature of him and it shows his it shows his talent finally.
- 1:06:49So you got to take it as a stepping stone for him, like,
- 1:06:52you know, so you got to take it saying, yeah, you're bounding
- 1:06:55your brother. It sucks, but it also shows some
- 1:06:58greatness. That is that is with you.
- 1:07:01So. Right.
- 1:07:02I hear what you're saying and I, I want to say this, I don't know
- 1:07:06how much you guys follow tennis, but there was a match at
- 1:07:10Wimbledon with Federer and Andy Roddick.
- 1:07:14It went for like 5 hours with five sets.
- 1:07:19You know, they split sets, they had to go to tie in the fifth
- 1:07:22round tiebreaker and Roddick won.
- 1:07:24I mean, Federer won and Roddick was like, what else can I do?
- 1:07:29I mean, if this is Alex Marquez best year and he doesn't win,
- 1:07:34like, I mean, Roddick retired, you know, and and threw away
- 1:07:38pretty much all his trophies, you know.
- 1:07:41So like, you know, I'll ask Lewis, you're the numbers guy,
- 1:07:44you know what I'm saying? I mean, you know, could this be
- 1:07:47detrimental for Alex? No, I don't think it is because
- 1:07:52again, he just finished second in the world championship to
- 1:07:55possibly one of the greatest riders to ever throw his leg
- 1:07:57over a motorcycle, whether it's his brother or not.
- 1:08:00If you take the brother equation out and he was just Alex Lopez
- 1:08:06racing against Mark Marquez, he's still racing one of the
- 1:08:09greatest riders to ever throw their leg over a motorcycle and
- 1:08:13he came in second place on a satellite bike, you know, So I
- 1:08:17don't think there's anything like he.
- 1:08:18There's no reason for him to leave this season with anything
- 1:08:22but his head held high. He did better than anyone ever
- 1:08:25expected him to do. He did better than the two time
- 1:08:29world champion. One time world champion.
- 1:08:31Or 1 1/2. No Pekkos won two.
- 1:08:41No, I meant Martin. Yeah, yeah, Quatararo.
- 1:08:46Those don't count. But I'm saying like he, you
- 1:08:50know, he came in second place in a championship that's loaded
- 1:08:54with a lot of talent and he came in second place behind what one
- 1:08:58of the greatest riders ever, you know, So he has nothing to be
- 1:09:02worried about, nothing to complain about.
- 1:09:03I mean, there's a there's an interview online for those of
- 1:09:07you that are not Spanish, try to find it and see if you can get
- 1:09:11it translated. But he goes into a lot of
- 1:09:13details about the sacrifices he made as a kid because he wasn't
- 1:09:17as talented as his brother. And he says, you know very
- 1:09:21plainly in his interview that he was never the talent most
- 1:09:23talented rider. He's still not the most talented
- 1:09:25rider. He knows riders with more
- 1:09:28talent, they just don't outwork him when other kids were out at
- 1:09:33parties. Luca Marina Marini see eye to
- 1:09:35eye. Yeah, yeah, Him and Luca Marini
- 1:09:37see eye to eye, except, you know, Luca's a little further
- 1:09:39back right now because of the bike he's on.
- 1:09:42But they're both living in the shadow of greatness.
- 1:09:45You know, they're the four story building next to the Empire
- 1:09:47State Building. It's a nice building, but that's
- 1:09:50the Empire State Building, my man.
- 1:09:53You know, it casts a big ass shadow and it covers your entire
- 1:09:57little building. Even though it's a nice
- 1:09:58building, brand new, nice, nice sauna, good gym, still Empire
- 1:10:03State Building, you know, and that's what, that's the way you
- 1:10:05have to look at it. Damn, I'm I'm, I'm glad I'm like
- 1:10:11Michael Jackson. That's, you know, 1.
- 1:10:13Thing that Mark's dad was always in well, Marquez's dad was
- 1:10:20always in Mark's panic. I I've never really seen him in
- 1:10:24the in Alice's panic, maybe time to time, but when the camera was
- 1:10:28on him, it seemed like he was always in Mark's panic.
- 1:10:31So I still think that's his favorite until he's out of the
- 1:10:34game. I mean, you know, Mark, Mark's
- 1:10:39probably been buying them more stuff longer than Alex has
- 1:10:41because Alex only really started coming into money in the last
- 1:10:44like few years. Like real money.
- 1:10:46TJ he's trying to say parents got favorite kids, of course.
- 1:10:50Man, kids paying all the. Bills.
- 1:10:51That kid, that kids. They like that kid.
- 1:10:54He's just the youngest boy. He's just the youngest, not the
- 1:10:57oldest, but you know what I'm saying?
- 1:11:02But like you said, like he was saying, Mark's paying the bills,
- 1:11:05so. Yeah, you got to.
- 1:11:06You got to, you know, hey, man, that the guy that's paying the
- 1:11:09bills, you got to give him a little extra love, a little few
- 1:11:11more hugs, you know, than the kid that's costing you money.
- 1:11:16But again, man, at the end of this year, I'm one.
- 1:11:19I'm glad that he's going to be with Garcini again next year.
- 1:11:22I'm glad he's going to have the same structure behind him, the
- 1:11:24same people behind him. He's going to be on factory
- 1:11:27equipment next year, so that might give him that extra couple
- 1:11:31of 10s because you never know man.
- 1:11:32Again, this kid for the talent that he doesn't have.
- 1:11:36People forget man, he is Moto 2 world champion.
- 1:11:39Like he didn't just come into Moto GP with the last name and
- 1:11:42Moto 3. He didn't just come into Moto GP
- 1:11:44with with no credentials. Like the dudes put in his work.
- 1:11:47The dudes worked hard and I hope to see him in the same position
- 1:11:51next year, you know, and I hope to see him in that position for
- 1:11:55years to come. You know, I think he's an
- 1:11:56incredible talent. If you take Mark out of the
- 1:11:58equation that the minute that Mark Marquez retires, Alex
- 1:12:02Marquez can pick up a a torch and run with it for another who
- 1:12:07knows how many years and keep the Marquez name in that GB
- 1:12:11paddock and keep pissing off those Italians for a long time
- 1:12:14man. Listen, man, Alex need a lot of
- 1:12:17a lot of a lot of credit because he could have Nancy Kerrigan, a
- 1:12:21few people, all right? So it's going to be cool to see.
- 1:12:30I'm looking forward to it. I know you guys are going to be
- 1:12:33at Jersey. I'm jealous because I'm not
- 1:12:35there. Definitely take some photos,
- 1:12:38Reese. Good luck, man.
- 1:12:39I'm rooting for you guys because I know you.
- 1:12:42I mean, that's what it is. I got I got Yamahas in Ducatis,
- 1:12:47but you know what I'm saying? We appreciate.
- 1:12:50It. So, so definitely go Yamaha and.
- 1:12:56We appreciate it. We appreciate it over here.
- 1:12:59I can't wait to watch. I'm not going to be sweating
- 1:13:02like you, got you, like you. So make sure you, you know, at
- 1:13:06least steal something from Louis Best.
- 1:13:07He's not going to drop off a T-shirt or anything.
- 1:13:09Right. Ain't dropping.
- 1:13:11I'm stealing. All his gear.
- 1:13:12His gear I'm stealing. And find out where y'all are
- 1:13:17located, yeah? No, no doubt man.
- 1:13:19Have fun man. Jersey's.
- 1:13:20Going to be nice. It's the Be Forever Cool
- 1:13:22podcast. My name is Rex 45, you got TJ
- 1:13:26from 2 Wheels and coffee, Reese from Attack, Yamaha, the real
- 1:13:29Louis Ortega, the numbers guy and more.
- 1:13:32It's a crazy show. Peace.
- 1:13:34Peace, Peace.
