- 0:22Speaker 1: Hey, Hey, it's Brice here from Sister's Doll. And this
- 0:24Speaker 1: is Ozzie from Sister's Doll obviously as well. And yeah,
- 0:28Speaker 1: we're here to talk to Chris from Heavy about our
- 0:31Speaker 1: new album Scars, coming out on the twenty fourth of January.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Yeah, but forgots, thanks for joining us today.
- 0:38Speaker 3: Thanks worries.
- 0:40Speaker 4: You might have to check that because I've got written
- 0:41Speaker 4: down the twenty fifth. But you guys who probably know
- 0:43Speaker 4: better than I would, wouldn't you.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Oh yeah, so we got the album comes out on
- 0:48Speaker 1: the twenty fourth, and then the gig is on the
- 0:52Speaker 1: twenty fifth.
- 0:53Speaker 3: Yeah, so launch.
- 0:55Speaker 4: Well, now we've corrected my fuck up initially. Yes, the
- 0:59Speaker 4: third album starts on January twenty fifth, twenty four, which
- 1:03Speaker 4: isn't too far away, guys, Like how you feel about it?
- 1:06Speaker 3: We feel good.
- 1:07Speaker 5: We've been rehearsing like really hard for it, and we've
- 1:10Speaker 5: got some cool things lined up for the actual whole
- 1:11Speaker 5: show and for the whole event, so we've we've been
- 1:15Speaker 5: gone hard, just you know, in our home studio here,
- 1:17Speaker 5: will be going to a separate rehearsal space too to
- 1:19Speaker 5: rehearse and just sort of get a lot of a
- 1:22Speaker 5: lot of the showdown packing just everything tight and really
- 1:26Speaker 5: yeah had especially these we're playing songs we've never played
- 1:28Speaker 5: before live. Obviously, we're pretty much playing the whole album
- 1:30Speaker 5: from the new album is. We're playing a whole lot
- 1:33Speaker 5: of it. So, Yeah, we've been recording this album since
- 1:37Speaker 5: I think it was like straight out of like when
- 1:39Speaker 5: COVID lockdowns stopped, we locked away with Ricky Ray in
- 1:42Speaker 5: the studio, and so it's been a long Yeah, it's
- 1:44Speaker 5: been a long process to actually get the album out
- 1:47Speaker 5: and we can't wait for yeah, everyone to finally hear
- 1:50Speaker 5: it when it comes out. So we're finally playing these
- 1:52Speaker 5: songs and it's like, wow, I finally get to play
- 1:55Speaker 5: these new ones.
- 1:55Speaker 3: But like these songs are.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Already like yeah, they already feel old, feel old because
- 1:59Speaker 1: we recorded it like, you know, a couple of years
- 2:01Speaker 1: ago now.
- 2:02Speaker 3: But it's great and we're excited.
- 2:04Speaker 4: That'd be the hard part because you guys have been
- 2:06Speaker 4: playing need for so long and when you're playing and
- 2:08Speaker 4: do your new audiences that they're fresh to them and
- 2:10Speaker 4: they're exciting, and I suppose you hat off that and
- 2:13Speaker 4: they'd make them fresh and exciting again, forget, wouldn't they?
- 2:15Speaker 5: Yeah, definitely, because we're gonna get some reactions to the
- 2:18Speaker 5: songs we've never we haven't an experienced before, you know
- 2:20Speaker 5: at all, it's good.
- 2:23Speaker 4: Let's dive in discards a bit deeper mate from a
- 2:25Speaker 4: musical point of view, and to tell us what you're
- 2:27Speaker 4: going for with it.
- 2:29Speaker 3: It was kind of like there wasn't really like a.
- 2:32Speaker 5: Theme we're going for anything, like we sort of how
- 2:35Speaker 5: it started as we just sort of knuckled. We were like,
- 2:36Speaker 5: we're going to do another album because we hadn't done
- 2:38Speaker 5: on for five years. The last album we brought out
- 2:40Speaker 5: was All Got Up, and.
- 2:41Speaker 1: That was even longer years ago now, yeah, twenty seventeen.
- 2:45Speaker 1: It still felt like we're in that like that, even
- 2:48Speaker 1: though that's what we grew up with and what we
- 2:50Speaker 1: love that glam rock realm. I don't know, it felt
- 2:53Speaker 1: like it was time for our like to finally yeah,
- 2:57Speaker 1: I don't know, instead of like an even some people
- 3:00Speaker 1: would say like, oh, use a light user trying to
- 3:02Speaker 1: do the eighties thing, You're trying to do the glame thing.
- 3:04Speaker 1: But I feel like this is actually sister's doll. This album,
- 3:07Speaker 1: this is like our sounds. It feels original in some way,
- 3:10Speaker 1: you know.
- 3:11Speaker 5: And like we had to it was time to do
- 3:14Speaker 5: another album because well, you know the past albums that
- 3:17Speaker 5: nothing wrong with him, they're great, but we're still so
- 3:19Speaker 5: young back then too, so a lot of the writing
- 3:21Speaker 5: and stuff was you can hear the youth in it
- 3:23Speaker 5: all and everything. So it was just time to We
- 3:26Speaker 5: had a lot of material lined up, and we'd always
- 3:28Speaker 5: been we've always been sort of writing together and things
- 3:30Speaker 5: like that, and then during COVID the time came and
- 3:33Speaker 5: we were just like, because we're stuck at home, we're
- 3:35Speaker 5: living together at the time, we really knuckled down and
- 3:38Speaker 5: demoed up a bunch of songs and working with Ricky
- 3:40Speaker 5: Ray and things like that, and he you know, the
- 3:43Speaker 5: past albums, it was always like, you know, we've got
- 3:46Speaker 5: like ten songs, like ten originals written and like, let's
- 3:49Speaker 5: let's go record them, like not much road testing to
- 3:52Speaker 5: them and things like that.
- 3:52Speaker 3: But this song was like, we really.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Want to really dived into each song when it comes
- 3:57Speaker 1: to like even a guitar part or a drum part,
- 4:00Speaker 1: or even a vocal part.
- 4:01Speaker 3: We really like dissected the songs still, like.
- 4:03Speaker 5: Yeah, in the studio here, we just like mumple down,
- 4:05Speaker 5: really work on the structures, and then we've got in
- 4:07Speaker 5: the studio with Ricky's input as well. Every song just
- 4:11Speaker 5: sort of with the ones we decided to choose for
- 4:14Speaker 5: the album, every each song just grew even more and
- 4:16Speaker 5: they just built and it's sort of we feel like
- 4:20Speaker 5: we picked the right ones for it, and it's we're older.
- 4:24Speaker 1: We're older now, and we're like more mature, and I
- 4:27Speaker 1: think you can you can tell, like when people hear
- 4:29Speaker 1: it the new the new stuff, and even from the
- 4:32Speaker 1: new singles that we've released, I think people can already
- 4:34Speaker 1: see like, fuck, we've stepped up a cog this time.
- 4:37Speaker 3: Definitely.
- 4:38Speaker 4: I think it's important to like your first two albums
- 4:40Speaker 4: record Welcome the Dollhouse and all old up, but it's
- 4:44Speaker 4: not this one Scars, which is tougher, it's got more grit.
- 4:48Speaker 4: Was that deliberate to sort of get away from that that.
- 4:52Speaker 5: In a way, Yeah, a little bit, because and the
- 4:56Speaker 5: we were gonna, like the title track of the album
- 4:58Speaker 5: is Climbing out of Hell, and that was almost going to.
- 5:01Speaker 3: Be the title of the title of the album.
- 5:03Speaker 5: But then we kind of like we realize like each
- 5:06Speaker 5: song sort of represents like a scar of something we've
- 5:08Speaker 5: been through.
- 5:09Speaker 3: You know and what we've come out of.
- 5:10Speaker 5: So and then the last track of the song is
- 5:13Speaker 5: called Scars, so it will kind of like, I think
- 5:15Speaker 5: this should be called Scars because each song is sort
- 5:18Speaker 5: of representing a scar or something we've been through, and.
- 5:20Speaker 1: It's an intriguing title and like, and it is the
- 5:24Speaker 1: last song on the album, and yeah, we'll tossing up.
- 5:27Speaker 1: We'll like but if we called it Climbing out of Hell,
- 5:29Speaker 1: it's kind of we feel like we're stuck in that
- 5:31Speaker 1: old led up climbing out of Hell like kind of
- 5:35Speaker 1: and things like that, which obviously we love that stuff.
- 5:37Speaker 1: But yeah, we really wanted to make a statement. I
- 5:39Speaker 1: think with the title it was like, nah, let's and
- 5:41Speaker 1: it makes people go, oh shit, this is pretty like
- 5:44Speaker 1: it makes people curious, it's a bit deep and want
- 5:47Speaker 1: to listen to it.
- 5:48Speaker 2: You had to have Doll in there somewhere because you
- 5:50Speaker 2: got a song called baby Doll.
- 5:56Speaker 1: We can't veer away too much that that's actually an
- 5:58Speaker 1: old song that we re hashed from like even like
- 6:04Speaker 1: before the first album. I think we'll mucking around with
- 6:07Speaker 1: that song.
- 6:07Speaker 5: Yeah, definitely the second album that song was around. It
- 6:09Speaker 5: was just it never got around to really worked much time,
- 6:13Speaker 5: but rehashed it for this album and it's turned into
- 6:15Speaker 5: something pretty heavy, So.
- 6:17Speaker 1: It could have it could have been another one. I mean,
- 6:19Speaker 1: it could be a single bouncing off the album when
- 6:21Speaker 1: it comes out.
- 6:22Speaker 3: Who knows.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Yeah, at least he didn't call the album baby Dollar.
- 6:26Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 6:29Speaker 2: The album starts with a complete curve ball. Guys. There's
- 6:32Speaker 2: an instrumental track called Purgatory.
- 6:34Speaker 4: That's It's a beautifully haunting Flamenco style guitar solo. It
- 6:38Speaker 4: could have come straight out of a Quentin Tarantino movie
- 6:40Speaker 4: made like the thought that great effective.
- 6:46Speaker 3: Yeah, not cool, No, that's awesome. Thanks, it's yeah, that's all.
- 6:50Speaker 3: That's all.
- 6:50Speaker 1: Ozzie his flavor on this something Bren worked on like
- 6:53Speaker 1: years ago, like we always we had again Climbing out
- 6:56Speaker 1: of Hell as a song we wrote a long time ago,
- 6:58Speaker 1: and uh, we always had the idea of that song
- 7:01Speaker 1: and it was always there, and that intro for.
- 7:04Speaker 5: It was something we always me and Brinstill worked off together.
- 7:07Speaker 5: But then the Flamenco styles stuff was something I just
- 7:09Speaker 5: heard and I was like, you know, over the years,
- 7:11Speaker 5: I progressed on guitar and I love that sort of
- 7:13Speaker 5: Flamenco style and not gonna many good at it. I
- 7:15Speaker 5: tried my best to sort of replicate, but it definitely
- 7:19Speaker 5: fit the theme for that song. So I think that
- 7:22Speaker 5: it's it's a cool intro to. It's definitely introduced the album.
- 7:26Speaker 4: Yeah, I put it in perspective, guys, like, I listened
- 7:29Speaker 4: to a lot of albums and a lot of bands
- 7:30Speaker 4: try different things to start, just for something different. And
- 7:33Speaker 4: the only other band I've ever heard nail it quite
- 7:36Speaker 4: like that is Bullets my valanchie on the Poison and
- 7:38Speaker 4: then then other than that made like that's it's really yeah,
- 7:42Speaker 4: really well done, guys. It's it's sort of throws you,
- 7:44Speaker 4: throws you off it to start, you don't know where
- 7:46Speaker 4: the fuck is going to go from there.
- 7:49Speaker 3: That's great.
- 7:51Speaker 4: And so you think about Scars is massive, guys, Like
- 7:55Speaker 4: there's more guitars than ever before, there's more atmospherics, there's.
- 7:58Speaker 2: More balls on the floor rock.
- 7:59Speaker 4: Like, was that a focus going into it that you
- 8:01Speaker 4: wanted everything to be bigger?
- 8:04Speaker 1: Yeah, definitely, because when we've recorded in the past, like
- 8:09Speaker 1: nothing against our other producers and things like that, I
- 8:12Speaker 1: still feel like we're still pretty green when it comes
- 8:15Speaker 1: to like the producing type of you know, like going
- 8:17Speaker 1: into record an album type of things. So when we
- 8:19Speaker 1: went in with Ricky, it was really like, nah, we
- 8:21Speaker 1: gotta we gotta emulate like how we sound live, you know,
- 8:24Speaker 1: like I'm a pretty hard hitting drama live.
- 8:27Speaker 3: And we'd hear it from the fans too.
- 8:29Speaker 1: And they'd be like, oh, you sound like like nothing
- 8:33Speaker 1: like you do on the records like you do live.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Like it's actually you sound better live, And I know
- 8:38Speaker 1: a lot of bands get that as well, but we
- 8:40Speaker 1: wanted to capture our sound best we could.
- 8:44Speaker 3: Experience.
- 8:45Speaker 5: We experimented a lot too, because, yeah, the part of
- 8:47Speaker 5: the especially the second album, we went with like again
- 8:49Speaker 5: we're in that vein of the whole glam and eighties
- 8:51Speaker 5: me thing like things like that. So I think the
- 8:53Speaker 5: drums were like majority of the were triggered and things
- 8:56Speaker 5: like that. Yeah, like we triggered a lot of stuff
- 8:58Speaker 5: and like it's just one of those big drums and
- 9:00Speaker 5: things like that. And again up said were quite green
- 9:03Speaker 5: to it all and didn't realize what a sound you
- 9:04Speaker 5: can get just out of raw drums, like and again
- 9:08Speaker 5: it's just been this album is a big step up
- 9:10Speaker 5: quality wise as well because old it was recorded in twenty.
- 9:13Speaker 3: Seventeen or was released in twenty seventeen.
- 9:15Speaker 5: It's it's almost almost ten years, ten yearsgo, nearly years, yeah,
- 9:19Speaker 5: eight years ago, whatever it is.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Yeah, And even when we listen back to like Black Mirror,
- 9:23Speaker 1: which we recorded in twenty nineteen, like right before every
- 9:28Speaker 1: the World Turns of shit, that was like even then,
- 9:31Speaker 1: like the production on that, I still feel like we're
- 9:34Speaker 1: missing the mark with our sounds and like still finding ourselves.
- 9:37Speaker 5: I think, yeah, Like definitely this album we've definitely found,
- 9:42Speaker 5: definitely found our sound.
- 9:43Speaker 1: I think, yeah, one hundred percent. And as you said, Chris, yeah,
- 9:46Speaker 1: we definitely went for that big like yeah, because we
- 9:50Speaker 1: have a big sound, especially and now we sage in
- 9:53Speaker 1: the band, like we have a live base and it's
- 9:56Speaker 1: it's full. We've been rehearsing and it's been sounding it's big.
- 10:00Speaker 1: It sounds big.
- 10:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:02Speaker 4: I might be wrong you're saying this, but to me,
- 10:03Speaker 4: it seems like you've paid extra attention to the intros
- 10:06Speaker 4: and the outros to the songs.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Right, they're very they're very epically.
- 10:10Speaker 4: Nothing goes back and finishes, you know, like there's a
- 10:13Speaker 4: eating and the lead out to most of songs, and
- 10:15Speaker 4: it it adds to the atmospheric quality a bit.
- 10:18Speaker 5: Was that the focus I mean that was that wasn't
- 10:20Speaker 5: like nothing, that wasn't really intentional or anything, but it
- 10:23Speaker 5: was I think just as as we've grown as just
- 10:27Speaker 5: personally and just as musicians, there's our tastes have maybe
- 10:31Speaker 5: change a bit, just you know, the four of us
- 10:33Speaker 5: are inspired by all.
- 10:35Speaker 3: Music, you know, and yeah, and it.
- 10:38Speaker 5: Just sort of comes through you. Nothing was really intentional.
- 10:40Speaker 5: It's just whatever we felt in the studio at the
- 10:43Speaker 5: time or whenever we wrote it. That is just what
- 10:45Speaker 5: comes through us at the time.
- 10:46Speaker 1: And that's what I love about like every everything about
- 10:49Speaker 1: Sister's Doll and when we've started, like everything since day
- 10:52Speaker 1: one has been us. We literally just asked me, Brennan
- 10:55Speaker 1: and Austin in the studio and now stage and like
- 10:58Speaker 1: and then our producers like steering the ship, you know,
- 11:02Speaker 1: like it's everything we we do and it's yeah, it's
- 11:06Speaker 1: not most stuff. Yeah, it really isn't intentional. What kind
- 11:09Speaker 1: of just happens in what we're feeling and it's all
- 11:11Speaker 1: very natural.
- 11:13Speaker 4: And you guys, I've known you guys for one or
- 11:15Speaker 4: two years now, and you've always always listened through too
- 11:19Speaker 4: like someone gives you a bit of advice, you take it,
- 11:21Speaker 4: or you listen to them. You know, you don't tell
- 11:23Speaker 4: off straight away. And I think that's that's a quality
- 11:25Speaker 4: a lot of bands could possess, you know, like there
- 11:27Speaker 4: areas out there, of course, but you've got to listen.
- 11:29Speaker 2: And you've got to learn, and you've got to grow.
- 11:31Speaker 5: And it's sure, definitely because without listening to you know, again,
- 11:35Speaker 5: there are some just dicks out there, you know, you know,
- 11:38Speaker 5: some harsh people out there. But you do have to
- 11:39Speaker 5: listen though, because it it doesn't help you grow.
- 11:43Speaker 3: And does.
- 11:45Speaker 4: How do you go playing the newer songs alongside the
- 11:48Speaker 4: older ones? Because they're not greatly different, but like I
- 11:51Speaker 4: said that, the newer ones have got that more dynamic,
- 11:53Speaker 4: atmospheric feel about them, Like does it do you have
- 11:56Speaker 4: to regulate.
- 11:57Speaker 2: Your set lists? I guess so they flow? Like is
- 11:59Speaker 2: it much different? Yeah?
- 12:01Speaker 1: Yeah, we kind of went through that process, the building
- 12:03Speaker 1: the set list, and like we had to like rework
- 12:06Speaker 1: a couple of things to kind of yeah, time all
- 12:08Speaker 1: together and see which songs fit next to certain songs
- 12:12Speaker 1: and that kind of thing.
- 12:13Speaker 5: Like it's also just the you know, there's definitly there's
- 12:16Speaker 5: a lot of crowd favorites from our past albums and
- 12:18Speaker 5: things like that, So there's songs that you know, they
- 12:23Speaker 5: kind of have to be in the set and we
- 12:24Speaker 5: enjoy playing them too. Yeah, sort of because again, like
- 12:28Speaker 5: the production on our past albums were a little bit
- 12:31Speaker 5: different to like, they're not how we sound live, I think,
- 12:33Speaker 5: so when we do play them live, there's a heaviness
- 12:36Speaker 5: to it. And now this latest album is a bit
- 12:37Speaker 5: more darker and heavier and it sort of fits the
- 12:40Speaker 5: it all sort of the setler sort of flows well
- 12:42Speaker 5: because we play things heavier and harder live and it's
- 12:45Speaker 5: a lot louder and it kind.
- 12:46Speaker 3: Of it does. It flows nice. So it's working out well.
- 12:50Speaker 4: And there's probably some fantay older material listen to disc
- 12:52Speaker 4: going fuck, I'm not going to like this new stuff.
- 12:54Speaker 2: It sounds like they've brained up too much.
- 12:56Speaker 4: But so yeah, I've been there for the older fan
- 12:59Speaker 4: and the older fans that have grown up with you,
- 13:01Speaker 4: or the younger fans have grown up with you, So
- 13:03Speaker 4: that's sort of be on that journey with Yeah.
- 13:06Speaker 5: But again, like the latest album is like it is,
- 13:09Speaker 5: you can hear the growth and things like that, and
- 13:11Speaker 5: we have grown a lot as musicians and stuff, but
- 13:13Speaker 5: there's death that essence of sisters all as there. And
- 13:16Speaker 5: I'm sure you heard it too, like it's you know,
- 13:18Speaker 5: it's there's just the the there's just maturity in the writing,
- 13:22Speaker 5: I think is kind of what's changed. Still that same,
- 13:25Speaker 5: the same the passion. The same passion is there as
- 13:28Speaker 5: that passed album.
- 13:29Speaker 1: The same, the same bit of tongue in cheek fun
- 13:32Speaker 1: is in a couple of songs too, Like there's there's
- 13:34Speaker 1: literally a track on now I think for everyone, Like
- 13:37Speaker 1: you could kind of put on one and be like
- 13:38Speaker 1: fuck that they went pretty heavy, But then you could
- 13:40Speaker 1: put on another song like first Time saying be like whoa,
- 13:44Speaker 1: it's like it's a bit more mellow and like that
- 13:46Speaker 1: could even be I don't know what even genre you'd.
- 13:49Speaker 5: Call that like, And so we always want the album
- 13:51Speaker 5: to be just something that you can put it in
- 13:52Speaker 5: the you know, put the city on the car. You
- 13:55Speaker 5: can just take it drive and you can listen to
- 13:56Speaker 5: it from top to bottom, like it takes on a
- 13:58Speaker 5: bit of a journey.
- 13:59Speaker 3: It sort of tells us story in a way.
- 14:01Speaker 2: Yeah, it's funny you mentioned our first time song.
- 14:04Speaker 4: Actually, like that's probably the first ballad I've listened to
- 14:07Speaker 4: from start to finish in about ten years.
- 14:09Speaker 2: I normally skip. That's actually not a bad one.
- 14:14Speaker 3: Thanks Chris. That's cool. That was gonna be a single.
- 14:16Speaker 3: I think, yeah, a lot of songs.
- 14:18Speaker 1: I think when they hear that, Yeah, yeah, they hear
- 14:21Speaker 1: the album, I think they're going to go ship. That
- 14:23Speaker 1: could have been a That could have been a single too,
- 14:26Speaker 1: you know, like it was.
- 14:27Speaker 5: It was hard, yeah, yeah, because we really picked the
- 14:30Speaker 5: best out of all the songs we had at the time,
- 14:31Speaker 5: all the demos, So you know, I think there's there's
- 14:35Speaker 5: even some songs that I think should have been singles instead.
- 14:38Speaker 3: Of what we chose. You know, yes, yeah that too.
- 14:40Speaker 3: Each song strong.
- 14:42Speaker 2: You know, I was listening and thinking, got the two
- 14:45Speaker 2: or three singles on this album at least.
- 14:47Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, that's cool. That's good to hear. No, thanks,
- 14:51Speaker 3: that's cool.
- 14:52Speaker 2: It's got Now.
- 14:53Speaker 4: You spoke of it about this before, but you're officially
- 14:55Speaker 4: launching Scars at Max Watson Melbourne on January twenty fifth,
- 14:58Speaker 4: which is going to be a massive and I what
- 15:00Speaker 4: do you got played?
- 15:01Speaker 2: Like?
- 15:01Speaker 4: I know, you guys aren't just going to sit there
- 15:02Speaker 4: and stand on stage and go e, what do you got?
- 15:06Speaker 1: You know, we're going to go big for what we
- 15:09Speaker 1: can do in the venue, like that venue didn't allow it, Like,
- 15:12Speaker 1: so we have We still have the flame machines. Do
- 15:14Speaker 1: you remember those Chris from back in We used to
- 15:16Speaker 1: take them everywhere, like flaming ship. We're not allowed flames
- 15:19Speaker 1: and stuff, but like pyrotechniques as far as like co
- 15:24Speaker 1: two cannons and ship like that, we've We've got a
- 15:27Speaker 1: lot of that jam packed. The drum solo is a
- 15:29Speaker 1: big part of the show, which is a bit of
- 15:33Speaker 1: a mechanical nightmare to.
- 15:35Speaker 3: Put together, and it's worth it when it works. When
- 15:38Speaker 3: it works, it's worth it.
- 15:39Speaker 5: So the show is going to be just it's the
- 15:42Speaker 5: same mindset we've always had, Like no matter what size
- 15:45Speaker 5: venue we're playing, it's like when we put on like
- 15:48Speaker 5: an arena stadium show in a little in a club
- 15:52Speaker 5: or a bar. You know, it's it's that same mindset.
- 15:55Speaker 5: And we got that, you know, without the effects everything,
- 15:58Speaker 5: there's still that hehigh energy.
- 15:59Speaker 3: That goes through the whole show, like where we love it.
- 16:02Speaker 3: We just enjoy it.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Yeah, there's a giant led screen in the and it's
- 16:06Speaker 1: like the heart of the heart of the city too,
- 16:08Speaker 1: So that's like sometimes you hear people like in Melbourne,
- 16:11Speaker 1: especially in the early days when we're play and they're.
- 16:13Speaker 3: Like, oh, you got to play in the city, like playing.
- 16:15Speaker 1: Them you know in central and I mean we we
- 16:18Speaker 1: booked a pretty big venue like for us, so it's yeah,
- 16:21Speaker 1: that's we're right in there.
- 16:22Speaker 3: It's going to be good.
- 16:23Speaker 2: And you've got four other bands playing video or three three.
- 16:26Speaker 3: Or three other bands.
- 16:27Speaker 5: Yeah, We've got Wicked Things who are from Sydney, and
- 16:29Speaker 5: then we've got a Tommy Wright who are Melbourne. They've
- 16:31Speaker 5: been gone through many years now, we've known them for
- 16:33Speaker 5: a long time. And then Cassie Paris is also doing
- 16:35Speaker 5: really well now too overseas things like that.
- 16:37Speaker 3: So it's a good lineup.
- 16:38Speaker 4: Where can people get tickets from because this is going
- 16:40Speaker 4: to be a show that in ten years time people
- 16:42Speaker 4: are going to say, funk I Wi show was there.
- 16:46Speaker 1: They're going to see footage and everything. They're going to
- 16:48Speaker 1: go man like, yeah, it's as.
- 16:52Speaker 3: Tis through us six.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's our sisters old band dot com if
- 16:56Speaker 1: you want to head to our website and then all
- 16:58Speaker 1: the stuff is there all over So sus we've been
- 17:00Speaker 1: pumping every Yeah, so it's.
- 17:02Speaker 4: Yeah, and from there you're off to the US in
- 17:05Speaker 4: March to play on the Monsters of Rock Cruise with
- 17:07Speaker 4: beards like Tesla, there's Michael Shanker, Procious, Extreme Winger, even
- 17:11Speaker 4: a little lossie band called Rose Tat who We're going
- 17:13Speaker 4: to be there, guys like.
- 17:17Speaker 2: Fucking or a babysitter.
- 17:21Speaker 3: We'll go catch up with Angry and that'd be cool.
- 17:24Speaker 3: That'd be cool. That's we're pumped for that one.
- 17:26Speaker 5: That's like, it's you know, it's with you know, the
- 17:30Speaker 5: Moss Rocker has been around for a long time. We've
- 17:32Speaker 5: always heard of it and it's always been like that's
- 17:34Speaker 5: been like a dream sort of thing we'd love to
- 17:36Speaker 5: be a part of. And yeah, and I guess it's
- 17:39Speaker 5: just been the right time they they asked us, and
- 17:41Speaker 5: of course we're going to do it. And yeah again
- 17:43Speaker 5: again we're playing with the idols of ours, like George
- 17:44Speaker 5: Lynch is on there, like Extreme, I'm huge Extreme families
- 17:47Speaker 5: people know, and we're pumped for that one.
- 17:51Speaker 3: That's that's gonna be that's gonna be huge.
- 17:53Speaker 4: Excited, Okay, and then the added to the UK for
- 17:56Speaker 4: the first time, guys to play part of the Call
- 17:58Speaker 4: in the World festival.
- 18:00Speaker 2: Good to see you finally getting the crack at the
- 18:02Speaker 2: UK markets.
- 18:03Speaker 5: Yeah, you know we've been it's been a long time coming,
- 18:05Speaker 5: but last for years and told us so many people
- 18:07Speaker 5: over the years, like we've got to get to Europe.
- 18:09Speaker 5: You know, that's the place to be they especially for
- 18:11Speaker 5: our genre and and you know that rock and metal
- 18:14Speaker 5: and things that they love it over there, Like it's still.
- 18:17Speaker 3: It's it's gonna think it's gonna be different world when
- 18:18Speaker 3: we get there.
- 18:18Speaker 5: It's gonna be like, well, they really love it here,
- 18:20Speaker 5: Like you know, we're probably gonna get the realization, Like
- 18:23Speaker 5: I know.
- 18:23Speaker 3: We're gonna be like why haven't we come here?
- 18:24Speaker 1: Like yeah, that's that's exactly what we'll say. I can
- 18:28Speaker 1: already feel it. And there's a heap of our we've
- 18:30Speaker 1: got that Call Little of the Wild festival, but we've
- 18:33Speaker 1: just teed up or we've locked in a heap more
- 18:36Speaker 1: like UK dates.
- 18:37Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know how we're.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Going to survive because I'm looking at the dates, going, fuck,
- 18:40Speaker 1: do we even get time to like have a look
- 18:41Speaker 1: around London or like it's pretty bangad.
- 18:45Speaker 5: Like we've got like how many dates we've got we're
- 18:47Speaker 5: supporting Kicking Baling Tina, Yes, which are a great band,
- 18:50Speaker 5: and yeah, it's gonna be a.
- 18:53Speaker 3: Killer time with those guys.
- 18:55Speaker 4: Just did a run of shows with them and they
- 18:57Speaker 4: said they were really funny.
- 19:00Speaker 3: Yeah, great, as for that. It's a great band and
- 19:04Speaker 3: where we're keen for it. I mean, we don't really
- 19:06Speaker 3: know what to expect. We don't know, we've never been there,
- 19:08Speaker 3: so yeah, it's.
- 19:08Speaker 1: A little scary, a little uh you know, but I
- 19:11Speaker 1: think it'll be good.
- 19:12Speaker 2: Right you go, guys.
- 19:16Speaker 4: I got a new segment I've started called photo Bomb,
- 19:19Speaker 4: But basically I just social media before I speak. Yeah,
- 19:22Speaker 4: I'm picking out a couple of photos that I want
- 19:23Speaker 4: to talk a bit more about. I found this one, like,
- 19:28Speaker 4: isn't it It's kind of cute?
- 19:32Speaker 1: Yeah, oh my god, I feel like I could still
- 19:37Speaker 1: see myself in like the the eyes of baby one
- 19:40Speaker 1: in the middle. Ah, that's yeah, that's me in the middle.
- 19:44Speaker 1: That's you awsome down there, Yeah, the left, that's you.
- 19:47Speaker 5: Look, the passion has always been there, even as kids
- 19:50Speaker 5: and diapers.
- 19:51Speaker 1: You know, I'm holding drumsticks. Friend's got a guitar, so
- 19:54Speaker 1: do you. And yeah, and we've got wigs on too,
- 19:56Speaker 1: but looks.
- 19:57Speaker 5: You know, you look at that photo like that, and
- 20:00Speaker 5: it's like because people sort of ask like like how
- 20:02Speaker 5: do you start, Like what made you do this? It's
- 20:04Speaker 5: like the photos like this, Like we love bands like
- 20:06Speaker 5: Kiss growing up, and like they were just on our
- 20:09Speaker 5: walls and Dad would play all concerts of Kiss back
- 20:11Speaker 5: in the day, and you know the Kiss had that
- 20:13Speaker 5: you know, you know that movie they made called Kiss
- 20:15Speaker 5: meets the Phantom of the Park when they've got like
- 20:17Speaker 5: superpowers and things like that. Us watching that as kids
- 20:20Speaker 5: was like, all these guys are like our Batman, They're
- 20:23Speaker 5: our Superman, you know, like they were like our heroes.
- 20:26Speaker 5: And the fact that they're playing guitars. Hen it's like,
- 20:28Speaker 5: look this little cardboard cutout guitar Brandon's got. That was
- 20:30Speaker 5: something Dad made for him.
- 20:31Speaker 3: I think I think you did that.
- 20:35Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, but it's just it's just been in us
- 20:37Speaker 5: for years, you know, since we're kids.
- 20:39Speaker 2: Your family has always been really supportive of it. You
- 20:41Speaker 2: have a name, which.
- 20:42Speaker 3: Helps, oh for sure. Yeah, they love it, definitely. Yeah, yeah,
- 20:46Speaker 3: very thankful in that regard.
- 20:48Speaker 2: But then you guys actually go and grow up this.
- 20:55Speaker 3: Guess where that is Chris, that's somewhere in lad Or
- 21:00Speaker 3: the rain that's.
- 21:01Speaker 1: At the rainbow, that's the guns and Roses table. I think, yeah,
- 21:04Speaker 1: that is that one. Yeah, I don't remember that one.
- 21:13Speaker 3: I didn't even know who who talked.
- 21:15Speaker 1: About before the whiskey one of the nights, I think, yeah.
- 21:20Speaker 2: Yeah, we're looking like that before you played.
- 21:25Speaker 3: I don't know how I held my sticks up ship.
- 21:31Speaker 4: The time that there had been a pleasure speaking. The
- 21:32Speaker 4: album Scars is out January twenty fourth, and like I.
- 21:35Speaker 2: Said, he's earlier. It's completely blew my socks off, guys,
- 21:38Speaker 2: if I was wearing them.

- 21:40Speaker 4: how fire you guys.
- 21:41Speaker 2: That comes.
- 21:42Speaker 4: Like I think I first met you when you still
- 21:44Speaker 4: had your baby teeth.
