  from a short little break. Very short, very short.

  So this is a podcast I wanted to try and do last week, but things

  happened such as moving furniture for folks because

  we've just had a new carpet installed.

  So we didn't get to talk about this last week with it freshly

  baked in our all our memories. That said however, we are going

  to take a look as I say back at Atomics Brew House of Horrors

  free, but you're going to get some bonus content from what

  happened at Infinite later on. So we might as well start from
• 1:46
  the beginning because there's not too much to talk about
• 1:51
  really. But at the same time there is
• 1:55
  yeah. So we'll we'll get straight in

  match one saw for the Atomic Championship, the real thing,
• 2:07
  Scott Olbermann taking on it like us.

  A I suppose you could say this was a surprising opening belt
• 2:19
  for Atomic. Yeah, off the show.
• 2:23
  You would have thought that would have been the main event,
• 2:25
  but they pulled it first. Because I think we both had the
• 2:32
  idea of if this is going to be the first match.
• 2:37
  There's going to be something at the end of the show.
• 2:39
  Yeah, obviously planned something for later on which and
• 2:44
  the only thing they were going to do was the monster mash
• 2:48
  rumble at the end. So it it made more sense come
• 2:54
  the end of the night than cutting this title match.

  Well, starting off with it, I thought this was a really good
• 3:07
  opener, a really solid to set the tone.
• 3:15
  It was hard to distinguish who was really a babyface and who
• 3:21
  was a heel. It felt for me.
• 3:23
  Yeah, you couldn't tell in this one.
• 3:25
  No, because Olbermann, you would immediately think he's going to
• 3:31
  be the heel of this match. Yeah.
• 3:35
  However, even though he started kind of like the better of the
• 3:39
  two, he suddenly found himself on the back foot and it was hit
• 3:45
  like us, effectively having kind of like the run of things until
• 3:54
  Oberman started to zone in on the body of like us and then all
• 4:01
  match just flipped. But then it did flip flop a few
• 4:07
  times with obviously Lycos's body being the target for
• 4:11
  Obermann. Obermann's arm then, seemed to
• 4:15
  be what was tagged by Lycos. The Greenwood was checking on
• 4:21
  him. I don't know if he cut his arm
• 4:23
  or like when he did the spot on the outside or something.
• 4:27
  Yeah, I know Greenwood was talking to him like during the
• 4:30
  match and it was very odd. Yeah, it was one of those where
• 4:36
  you're thinking it is this going to be, is this tied into the
• 4:41
  match or is a like a genuine concern here?
• 4:47
  But they they carried on. So we can we can only surmise
• 4:53
  that they were they were fine to continue at least, and it wasn't
• 4:58
  anything serious if the there actually was a problem.

  But in the end, it saw Olbermann getting the win, retaining his
• 5:11
  atomic title with a tombstone. Having seen Lycos refusing to
• 5:19
  stay down, Olbermann kind of hit riding the ride, the lightning
• 5:26
  eventually hitting it. Was that a spinning?
• 5:31
  Tune. It was a it was just a
• 5:33
  tombstone, really. Because he, yeah, he didn't.
• 5:36
  Really spin on it, but. Slight turn, I suppose we could
• 5:42
  say on it. So that was the opener.

  What was your thought? Lycos did make Oberman tap
• 5:51
  though. If you if you remember Lycos did
• 5:55
  make him tap but did Oberman does the usual where he gets the
• 5:59
  rope? Yes, So it was almost like a

  call back to the anniversary show where Tony Wright has
• 6:10
  Oberman beat, but Scott has the rope and the referee doesn't see
• 6:17
  it. But Greenwood, who was on the
• 6:19
  outside, did. But on this occasion Lycos kind
• 6:25
  of gets the the win for half a second.
• 6:28
  But I think we're all too wise to realise what was going to
• 6:32
  happen here. So the referee didn't
• 6:36
  particularly see it, but you did see Oberman still clinging on.
• 6:42
  So then kind of match restarted in a sense and ended up with
• 6:48
  Oberman getting the victory. So we went from a match that
• 6:55
  went about 25 minutes or so to a match that felt like it went 25
• 7:02
  seconds, which was match #2 nay, J taking on Sam Bailey.

  Where'd you go? Where's one?

  Should we start off before the match even begins?

  Nay, J's entrance. Oh, let's get on with that.

  So Neji came out to a Sam Bailey entrance with the whole kind of

  like music video. Even one of his tunes had a
• 7:45
  balaclava on and completely lost where he actually was and
• 7:53
  proceeded to fall down the stairs as much sliding tumble

  down the stairs which he has now put in AJ that he hates everyone
• 8:11
  for bringing it up. But you know.

  And AJ, if if you knew how to navigate stairs, we we wouldn't
• 8:20
  be bringing this to your attention.

  He caused himself because he was spraying the water bottle.
• 8:27
  Yeah, but I don't even think it was the water bottle.

  I think he, I think he knew where the stairs were.

  And then as soon as he went on the stairs, he got too giddy for
• 8:37
  his own good and just slipped down him to which is probably
• 8:43
  going to be one of the lasting memories of this show because no
• 8:49
  one has let him forget about it, especially us yesterday chanting
• 8:54
  Watch the stairs when he came down and future shot guest
• 8:58
  today. Yeah, this this didn't last very
• 9:05
  long at all. Effectively saw Sam coming out
• 9:11
  beating up NAJ for probably about a minute and a half and
• 9:17
  then has him up for a suplex. Momentum kind of brings him NAJ
• 9:23
  down. Hawks Bailey in a kind of like a
• 9:28
  roll up and sees NAJ getting the 123 which started the miserable
• 9:37
  night for Bailey on this show. Really don't know what your
• 9:45
  thoughts are on that much particular.
• 9:48
  There's not much thoughts on it, it's just very quick.
• 9:52
  It was extremely quick, so quick that I'm trying to think if I
• 10:00
  think Mr Ogden was with us and I don't even think he'd finished
• 10:05
  telling me a story by the time this match was over.

  Just I'm, I'm trying to figure out if it was should if it
• 10:14
  should have been this quick or if they just slightly overran on
• 10:20
  the opening match and they just very, very quickly kind of like
• 10:26
  cut this match down. Because out of all the matches
• 10:32
  that were on the card, this is probably the the least if you
• 10:37
  want to say all the matches, all of them seem to have like
• 10:42
  something going going for it or had some stakes.

  And this was, this is really just kind of like The Apprentice
• 10:53
  and master having a, a bit of a, a tussle, but other than that,
• 10:57
  there wasn't a whole lot behind this one really.

  So we then move on to match #3 which is part of the eliminate
• 11:11
  quarterfinal. On paper this looked to be one
• 11:17
  of the stand out matches and it was Chris Ridgway taking on
• 11:23
  Lucy. What's your take away from this
• 11:30
  before I kind of give my version?
• 11:34
  Of the match, I thought it was a great technical match.
• 11:37
  There's a lot of good kicks, good grapples.
• 11:43
  I thought it was quite solid. I do.
• 11:47
  I was slightly disappointed with a finish to the match.

  I thought Ridgeway versus Vusey, there's going to be a submission
• 11:53
  winner. I it's two of the best technical
• 11:57
  wrestlers in the UK at the minute.

  You would think there would be a submission win or something, but
• 12:06
  I don't know what happened. It just, I don't know, tough
• 12:13
  one. For me, I thought it was a bit
• 12:17
  of a a slow start, but then again, it's I think that was due
• 12:23
  to the fact that both are technical wrestlers.

  I mean, both have moves that can end a match very quickly.
• 12:31
  So that kind of plays into why it was a bit slow at the
• 12:36
  beginning. However, as I made a reference
• 12:42
  on Oggy's podcast, it was a slow burner, but it got really good.

  It was some really top class wrestling and then it, as he
• 12:54
  said, it just got let down with the finish because.

  It even a half cover. Yeah.

  The full pin because like I don't interview on his side.

  I don't know what they were they were trying to do like pin wise.

  So I don't even know if that was if they were trying to do a
• 13:21
  certain move and they couldn't particularly get the move off.

  And it just came across really kind of not half assed, but it

  just didn't come across as what we wanted to do which.

  Yeah, it didn't look like the intended finish.

  Yeah. It was, it was a bit of a shame,

  but I I just feel that kind of like ending it just kind of a
• 13:52
  slight souring. Yeah.

  Because it was a really. Good person who won as much as

  well. I think VUCY should have won.

  Yeah, we can afford VUCY. In truth, should have, should

  have won. But then again, I'm it's atomic

  and I'm happy to kind of let it play out and see where it's

  going. Because Ridgeway's next match

  will be good. I think it'll be better, yeah.

  Because I think there's certain promotions where if this
• 14:21
  happens, you kind of you're unsure about.

  But with Atomic, the nine times that I tell me know what they're

  doing. So I'm happy to let this go.

  Also, it was Rusik's debut because of a few debuts on this
• 14:41
  show, Kid like us being one, Vusik being another and another
• 14:48
  that we will mention later in the show.

  So we then came to what turned out to be I wasn't actually, I

  was going to say the the main event, but it wasn't.

  I've gone too early. We had a Reese and Rogan going

  up against quintessential in Christie Quinlan and Patrick

  Quinlan. I'll let you go on this because

  this is one of two matches where I wasn't a fan of it.

  So. Quintessential come to the ring

  dressed up. Christy was Michael Myers and I
• 15:47
  can't even remember who the PUD was now is names gone up and
• 15:51
  then reason reason Rogan come to the ring dressed up as normal.

  Yeah, who was? Well, your feet slightly cut

  out, so I'll, I'll repeat that. So Christy Quinlan came out with

  Michael Myers and PUD came out as Austin Powers.

  Austin Powers. With I don't think a few people

  got the connection with MM Myers plays Austin Powers.

  So it was, it was a bit of a joke on that, but I don't think

  many people got that. I think they just saw, oh, it's

  Halloween, my Halloween. Yeah, I'm very considering these

  and two really good teams. I'm very quickly kind of checked

  out of this much for for some reason, I don't know, but

  Quintessential effectively were kind of very jokey and not

  messing around, but they were very much the baby faces in on
• 17:16
  this match. Yeah.

  And Reece and Rogan were just there to just beat the hell out

  of them. Which is in truth, what what
• 17:26
  really happened. Quintessential had the moments
• 17:31
  Reese and Rogan just weren't being paid by the hour back and
• 17:37
  forth contests. But I think when you have A tag
• 17:42
  match or or a singles match and someone comes comes out dressed
• 17:47
  in not how they normally are. Yeah, you.

  Think you are setting yourself up to Telegraph what is going to

  happen here and this is definitely one of those times

  because it's how I felt. Yeah, I felt like that as well.

  I felt like recent real gun dominated majority of the match.

  I'd say like 70% of it. So, but it's what it did do

  though it did make Reece and Rogan look very it made him look

  a strong team. So despite kind of all the the

  in between stuff, it did its job and it made Yorkshire tough

  looking very good in this contest.

  But that would not be the last time we saw these two as we

  moved to our main event of the first half for the Atomic Tag

  Team titles. The Meat Waggon are kind of the
• 19:10
  Shield as it felt because that's how they came to the ring,
• 19:16
  coming through the crowd, much like the Shield taking on the
• 19:19
  team of Lally, Holly Barlow and Lana Austin dressed as hot.

  Dogs. Yeah.

  I thought they were going to come out as SpongeBob and
• 19:34
  Patrick. Yes, there there was a it was
• 19:41
  entertaining watching the videos back of kind of both you and the
• 19:47
  Lewis just coming out with who you think it was going to be or
• 19:55
  what you thought they were going to be.

  And they tended to be the complete opposite of what you
• 20:01
  actually thought they were. But it is your reaction to

  seeing Holly and Lana come out and just go, oh for God's sake,

  when the dress is like hot dogs, which.

  I think you've actually made reference to you thought they

  were going to be like SpongeBob and it wasn't.

  Yeah, I thought it would have been SpongeBob and Patrick.

  I I did actually enjoy this much.

  This was arguably debating how you want to look at it.

  This was arguably much of the night.

  I yeah, I enjoyed this one. It was very, very fun.

  wrestling match, it also had a lot of what I, what a lot of

  people would say is wrestling bollocks.

  going on in this match. We can't.

  We were split on how we thought this was going to go.

  You thought Meat Waggon would retain?

  I thought Lolly were going to pull off the upset.

  I think for large parts of it, it did feel like we were going

  to get a title change. Yeah, it was very 5050.

  Yeah, but what they did very well though was they would

  they'd hook you in. So you thought it was going to

  be a lolly win, and then the meat waggon had kind of like
• 21:48
  flipped the script. Then it looked like they were
• 21:51
  going to win and then it flipped again.

  So it flipped what to the point that you genuinely didn't know
• 21:59
  what they were going to do? Even right up to the the end,

  you still felt like it's anyone's here to win.

  Even when the meat waggon, I think it was after they hit the

  I want to say it was when they hit the tenderizer or they hit
• 22:22
  one of their main. Splash Mountain wasn't it?

  I know they hit Splash Mountain. It might have been, I think it

  was Splash Mountain because I think the one with the

  tenderizer, Yeah, the one with the.

  kicked out a Splash Mountain, Yeah.

  Because the they did this big build up kind of like tag team

  combo, Bam bam, bam bam bam and Holly kicks out, I think 1 and

  then just hold off kind of like the hot dog suit.

  And he was like, right, we're going to be serious now.

  And it just seemed to make that contest even better because it

  was all right, We've had our phone now this is the the games

  are over. We're going to be serious.

  And at that point, I thought, oh, shit, they really are going

  to win this match. And then at the last moment, he

  just had kind of like the carpet whipped from him.

  I think it was. It was Low Holly that took the

  pinfall, wasn't it? Yeah, Holly took the pinfall.

  Yeah, she got. Tenderised by the meat waggon

  meat waggon retain in what was a really entertaining contest.

  But that wasn't all that happened, was it, Miles?

  Nope Yorkshire. Tough come out and cut I think.

  One of the best promos I have seen this year.

  That promo they did superb. They might have dropped an F

  bomb or cancel them. Cancel them.

  That promo put them as real title contenders and a real

  threat to meat waggon. I can see them stealing the

  belts. Their performance against the

  Quinlan's. Flawless.

  If they do that against meat waggon I can see them stealing

  the belts. Because it was the the problem
• 24:43
  with the the Cup was getting in the ring, attacking the meat
• 24:47
  waggon and just saying waste. We're sick of you 2.

  We hate your guts. You make tag team wrestling a

  joke. We're yeah, we're we're here

  being serious and doing things properly like tag team wrestling

  is what it should be you to an embarrassment.

  Then call both of them by their real names.

  Which had the crowd very much thinking oh, oh, what what

  And it does set up now. I think whether they do it in

  December or the hold off till next year, I think we are going

  to get meat waggon versus Reese and Rogan and that will that'll

  be an absolute epic tag match. I can see that's going to be an

  absolute bomb burner of a match. So we then move to the

  second-half of the show and I'll ask, I'll ask you the question I

  was going to ask at the end actually because that might be
• 26:15
  better if doing it. But we started off with the
• 26:20
  eliminate quarter final, the final one with dynamite, Lee

  Dawson taking on another debutante to atomic, that being
• 26:34
  the hot commodity. Melissa Feus, what were your

  take on this? This was an interesting match

  like booking wise that you wouldn't expect to see them two
• 26:48
  in the rings together. No, it's I made the thing of

  this was a really good match, but the crowd seemed dead.

  Yeah. Yeah, they were.

  And I don't understand kind of how they were because they were

  all kind of lively in the first half and then the second-half

  the crowd just seemed to almost get taken out at at the

  interval. It was almost silent.

  Towards the end of like the Rumble.

  Yeah. But yeah, I think there was only

  kind of us on the far side that we're making any noise

  whatsoever for this contest. Yeah.

  Yeah. So we were all making noise

  trying to get the rest of the crowd to like join in, but the

  crowd just not having it whatsoever, which I, I felt

  sorry for these two because they got put on a decent part of the

  show and the crowd just did not. I don't think it was a point of

  the didn't care. I think either it was either a

  bit of tiredness had hit him or they just weren't ready for the
• 28:33
  the shot and start which and the match itself.

  But both these eliminate quarter final matches were really good
• 28:43
  contest. They were solid matches.

  Yeah, and it was like, Dawson is really solid, really solid in
• 28:53
  the ring. Yeah, I like Dawson.

  Yes, every single time I see her, I get more and more

  impressed by her. Definitely kind of like she'll

  be getting booked on like Hop End shows I feel now.

  So we'll we'll see how that goes in the next few months or so.

  The only negative I will say about this match is it fell very

  much in line with the other quarterfinal contest where a
• 29:35
  really good contest ends in a bit of a a slightly dodgy end.

  Yeah, it was it how he did it. I don't even know where.

  You just come out of nowhere. Yeah, because it was because it

  was fierce. I think we, we think did a

  crossbody to Dawson. Yeah, and then Dawson rolled

  through and. Boston rolled kind of like

  rolled through and pinned fierce.

  And for everything they'd done, that seemed to have been the
• 30:15
  week away to win this match. And it just kind of again, it

  left a bit of a a sour taste in the in the mouth from what they
• 30:28
  were doing. You kind of expected like a, a
• 30:33
  better finish for this, but it just it just didn't happen.

  There's a lot on this show where you'll get real near enough.

  Every match was a good match. OK, nearly all of them, which
• 30:53
  we'll come to in a minute. But the problem was the the just

  be like the odd. It was just the finishes just

  hurt the match a bit. And one of them, but I was
• 31:10
  talking about this with hockey on Dawson, Dawson last year.

  It seemed to be kind of like going places.

  He was he was the adrenaline champion in future shock look
• 31:29
  like he was going to to Rev pro or he was going to get some reps
• 31:35
  there. And then whatever's happened

  from him losing the adrenaline title to now, it's almost like
• 31:49
  he's just he's not even like lost in the shuffle.

  He's just, I don't know how to describe it.

  He's he's a really good wrestler, but he just, he seems

  lost currently. Yeah.

  There's because there's, there's nothing I've not seen anywhere

  where there's any kind of like plans or views or anything.

  So whether there were plans for Rev Pro or something's happened

  or he's had an injury or something like that, it almost

  feels like his legs have kind of been cut from him.

  And now he just finds himself in purgatory, so to speak, where he

  almost feels like he's just doing matches for the sake of

  matches and there's nothing for him to really do, Which is it's

  a massive shame, I think, because Dawson is so talented.

  But just at the moment he's he's kind of like in a, as I say, in

  a bit of purgatory. Don't know if you think the same

  I agree. Right, well, this is the match I

  wasn't looking forward to and we were equally of the same

  opinion. Yeah.

  So it was the Atomic Meltdown match with Rob Drake and Kemper.

  Two big guys, both incredibly talented, but for some reason, I

  don't know what it is, they just can't work together.

  It seems like the first match they had in Atomic, it was like

  a 15 second match. Gone to the outside, no contest.

  Kemper slams Drake onto a pallet.

  OK, that starts a feud. Second match falls count

  anywhere. No falls on the outside,
• 34:20
  nothing. No pinfalls anywhere.

  Now you get this big blow off match, supposedly meltdown

  match, right? We've seen Tony right do a
• 34:28
  meltdown match and it was fantastic.

  You are. And.

  The tag team meltdown match as well Meltdown matches as opposed
• 34:38
  to the these big crazy blow off matches and then you get
• 34:45
  whatever that was. It just looked like a basic no
• 34:48
  DQ match. You had a bin, you had a chain,
• 34:54
  you had a kendo stick and you had a chair.
• 34:59
  Just book it is just a normal no DQ match and you don't need the
• 35:02
  name meltdown match if it's not going to be much of A meltdown.

  You didn't even use the venue. I got review, use the venue, do
• 35:15
  stuff with a venue, go outside, do stuff, use the bar area, do
• 35:21
  something. I said last week straight after
• 35:28
  the show that it's very rare if if at all, you get free matches.

  A trilogy if you will. I'm not going to mince me words
• 35:44
  here and I think both of them, as you say, talented guys.

  I will say I haven't seen too much of Rob Drake but the

  matches I've seen the only match I will say I've enjoyed of his

  was GPW against Dylan Roberts. Kemper I have seen have good and
• 36:14
  bad matches, not always due to to him however these three
• 36:27
