- 0:00Speaker 1: The North Korean who tricked their way into a job
- 0:02Speaker 1: with a Kiwi company to make Kim Jong-un a bunch
- 0:04Speaker 1: of cash was so yesterday's news. This is how fast
- 0:07Speaker 1: these things move. The nerds and the cyber cops are
- 0:09Speaker 1: now worried about yet another AI hack. The Aussie's health
- 0:14Speaker 1: New Zealand equivalent was breached actually a few months ago now.
- 0:18Speaker 1: The culprit was an open AI robot. Albanese announces this
- 0:22Speaker 1: as it was happening at the UN in New York yesterday.
- 0:26Speaker 1: And in doing so, he revealed that open AI, that's
- 0:28Speaker 1: Sam Altman... sat on this information for months without telling Canberra. Now,
- 0:33Speaker 1: two red flags immediately leap out of this story. Number one,
- 0:37Speaker 1: how did the Australians not know somebody had leapt over
- 0:40Speaker 1: the castle gates to snoop around on public and non-public information?
- 0:45Speaker 1: And if they didn't know this had happened, what hope
- 0:48Speaker 1: is there for the rest of us? If our friends
- 0:51Speaker 1: can do this and we only find out about it
- 0:53Speaker 1: because they tell us, what about our enemies? Which brings
- 0:56Speaker 1: us to the second point. Altman and co. are supposed
- 0:59Speaker 1: to be the good guys. They set OpenAI up as
- 1:02Speaker 1: a non-profit initially to benefit humanity. They have since been commercialised.
- 1:07Speaker 1: But if this is how the well-intentioned behave, what do
- 1:12Speaker 1: we and should we expect from the bad guys?
