Transcript
- 0:15Speaker 1: Hey, everybody, welcome to Pink Shade. This is a bonus episode, guys,
- 0:19Speaker 1: and this is exciting. So I have today Meghan O'Brien.
- 0:23Speaker 1: She is the founder of a Ring My Bell.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Okay.
- 0:26Speaker 1: I met Meghan through our mutual friend k Casey. You
- 0:29Speaker 1: guys know Kate. Meghan is the founder of a beauty company.
- 0:32Speaker 1: So it involves a makeup artists and hairstylists and spray
- 0:35Speaker 1: tanners and stuff that will come to your door. It's incredible.
- 0:39Speaker 1: I'm gonna be using them myself for Bravo con. Okay, Megan,
- 0:43Speaker 1: first of all, welcome to the show.
- 0:45Speaker 3: Thank you, Thank you very much.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Gry Paine, Okay, tell me about Ringing My Bell because
- 0:51Speaker 1: like this model of makeup artists and things coming to you,
- 0:56Speaker 1: I think kind of got popular for the uneral public
- 1:00Speaker 1: as an idea for watching Housewives because we're like, wait,
- 1:04Speaker 1: I can have.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Somebody come and do my makeup too.
- 1:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:07Speaker 4: So I thought that was just a natural progression, was
- 1:12Speaker 4: to work with the housewives. And so I work with Meredith, Cynthia, Luiyanne,
- 1:18Speaker 4: Gretchen and Gerty.
- 1:20Speaker 2: And incredible, what an incredible group.
- 1:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:23Speaker 4: Yeah, because you know you might not be able to
- 1:26Speaker 4: and I mean, let's be honest, can they really afford
- 1:28Speaker 4: the air Mes bag either?
- 1:29Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:30Speaker 4: It depends what you read, right, so maybe you can't
- 1:34Speaker 4: have their bag or you can't have you know, a butler,
- 1:37Speaker 4: but you can get a blowout. You can get a blowout.
- 1:41Speaker 4: So I felt like to kind of make democratize if
- 1:45Speaker 4: you will, having a beauty squad come to your house.
- 1:50Speaker 4: We all need it. And when people would say, well,
- 1:51Speaker 4: who is your client, I'd say, a woman with.
- 1:53Speaker 3: A head is my client?
- 1:56Speaker 2: Right?
- 1:58Speaker 4: We all have had you know, maybe you're not going
- 1:59Speaker 4: to go to a premiere, but you do have your daughter.
- 2:03Speaker 4: Your daughter might have a prom, or you have a
- 2:05Speaker 4: wedding or a hot date or you know xyz, or
- 2:09Speaker 4: maybe it's Tuesday and you just want to blow out
- 2:10Speaker 4: to last year for the week. You know. But everybody
- 2:14Speaker 4: should have the same access. It shouldn't be something that
- 2:17Speaker 4: you have to live in a special zip code to have.
- 2:20Speaker 1: You know, so your company, you do have lots of
- 2:24Speaker 1: housewives that are investors. And we're talking about this because
- 2:26Speaker 1: this is coming out on Thursdays, which is when I
- 2:28Speaker 1: do my Bravo episodes. And I was like, well, this
- 2:30Speaker 1: is a perfect tie in to talk about it because
- 2:33Speaker 1: you do have these housewives that are investors, and tell
- 2:36Speaker 1: everybody what you're doing at Bravo Con. Okay, you guys know,
- 2:39Speaker 1: I'm going to Bravo Con and I went the last
- 2:42Speaker 1: couple of years as well, and it is they have
- 2:47Speaker 1: all the panels and stuff guys at Bravo cons in
- 2:49Speaker 1: the rooms you can go into and meet, and the photo.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Ops and all that, But they also have all these.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Booths and I'd say ninety percent of them are selling
- 2:58Speaker 1: housewives somehow related products. So you're going to have a
- 3:02Speaker 1: boot the Bravo Con for your makeup artist, But tell
- 3:05Speaker 1: tell every about exactly what we're doing with the selfies
- 3:07Speaker 1: and all that, because I think it's a great idea.
- 3:10Speaker 4: Okay, I have never been to Bravocon before, but the
- 3:14Speaker 4: complaint that I would hear from everyone is waiting in line,
- 3:17Speaker 4: like yes, I have to meet this one, I have
- 3:20Speaker 4: to do this one. So this is really a very
- 3:22Speaker 4: VIP perk. We only have it for the first two
- 3:25Speaker 4: hundred people to do it because I don't want to
- 3:29Speaker 4: overwhelm my housewife investors and I don't want it to
- 3:33Speaker 4: be like so quick that you don't get your selfie
- 3:36Speaker 4: and I don't want to line. So this is a
- 3:38Speaker 4: very VIP perk. If you go to ring my Bell
- 3:41Speaker 4: and bell has an E at the end of it
- 3:43Speaker 4: for Southern Bell or Beautiful Bell. You go to ring
- 3:47Speaker 4: Mybell dot com, get a hair and makeup, and at
- 3:50Speaker 4: checkout where the promo code is put in the name
- 3:54Speaker 4: Meredith or Gretchen or Loui Anne or Gerty or saying god,
- 4:00Speaker 4: this is going to be me.
- 4:01Speaker 2: Gertie Beard, is Luyn Cynthia Yeah, oh my.
- 4:03Speaker 3: God, how Cynthia Bailey?
- 4:05Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, she's the og puts and we will.
- 4:09Speaker 4: So you put that in your checkout. You book your
- 4:12Speaker 4: hair and makeup. You need hair and makeup anyway. You
- 4:15Speaker 4: don't have to get it for Bravo con. You can
- 4:18Speaker 4: get this hair and makeup for your wedding next year
- 4:20Speaker 4: or your daughter's prom or and you can get it whatever.
- 4:23Speaker 4: I don't care.
- 4:24Speaker 2: I could be for a future time.
- 4:26Speaker 4: Totally, you can have this for a future time. We
- 4:29Speaker 4: are national. We are not in Alaska, so sorry Anchorage,
- 4:33Speaker 4: but everywhere else we are. Okay, So just book your
- 4:36Speaker 4: hair and makeup. Put the housewife who is my investor
- 4:40Speaker 4: that you want to meet in the checkout. Then someone
- 4:44Speaker 4: from our team is going to get back to you
- 4:47Speaker 4: and tell you what time they are going to be
- 4:51Speaker 4: at our lash bar where we're launching Viva lash Vegas.
- 4:55Speaker 4: But we're not telling the public. Like we're not telling
- 4:58Speaker 4: we don't want a big, huge cluster. So I am
- 5:01Speaker 4: not gonna say, hey, world, come and meet Cynthia at
- 5:06Speaker 4: two o'clock at Saturday. It's not gonna work, right. You
- 5:08Speaker 4: have to have you have to be on the list
- 5:11Speaker 4: to be told, because I don't want to stampede. I
- 5:14Speaker 4: don't want This is a VIP perk, so this is
- 5:17Speaker 4: like and here's the deal. You're gonna have your hair
- 5:19Speaker 4: and makeup done right, so you're gonna look really good
- 5:22Speaker 4: for yourselfie. So there you go, and that there's your
- 5:24Speaker 4: Christmas card for next year.
- 5:26Speaker 1: It's interesting talking about the Stampedes. It is interesting because
- 5:32Speaker 1: two years ago when we were there, and the year
- 5:34Speaker 1: before when we were in New York, and it would
- 5:37Speaker 1: just be like, there's this certain door and you knew
- 5:39Speaker 1: when it opened, one of the housewives is coming out.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Like I'll give it an example, like Shannon, the door
- 5:43Speaker 1: came out when she was doing that lemon tincture product,
- 5:46Speaker 1: and so you're standing near her booth. You know, eventually
- 5:49Speaker 1: she's coming and you would see this door like really
- 5:51Speaker 1: far away in the convention hall open and these all
- 5:53Speaker 1: these people around, and Shannon would be coming, you know,
- 5:56Speaker 1: with people all around her, people are like screaming, screaming
- 5:59Speaker 1: and trying to rat trying to like take pictures like
- 6:02Speaker 1: over the the you know security that was walking her
- 6:05Speaker 1: to her booth, and then she just goes and stands
- 6:07Speaker 1: in her booth and holds the product and people just
- 6:09Speaker 1: walk by and take pictures. So it can be a stampede.
- 6:13Speaker 1: So like if people knew that, you know, Meredith is
- 6:16Speaker 1: going to be there Friday at this time, then yeah,
- 6:19Speaker 1: you're right, it would be like hundreds of people.
- 6:21Speaker 2: So you kind of have to have the appointment.
- 6:23Speaker 3: Yeah, you have to.
- 6:24Speaker 4: Yeah, you have to have the appointment because I have
- 6:26Speaker 4: to have it. Also, I need it in by November eleventh, guys,
- 6:31Speaker 4: because I have to work with their team and all
- 6:34Speaker 4: these women's teams. So we have to because Bravo works
- 6:37Speaker 4: some like workhorses, like they.
- 6:38Speaker 3: Are running from them to another, So.
- 6:41Speaker 4: I have to make sure you know that this is
- 6:43Speaker 4: a good time for them and then don't worry, we'll
- 6:45Speaker 4: get We will literally let you know what time they're
- 6:48Speaker 4: going to be there. But this is a perk, like
- 6:50Speaker 4: it's not going to be on my website or this
- 6:53Speaker 4: is like an insider deal.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Yeah, and you posted it on your Instagram on ring
- 6:59Speaker 1: my Bell and I posted it on mind too, just
- 7:01Speaker 1: so you can see what it's about. And again, you guys,
- 7:04Speaker 1: just you can book a hair and makeup. It could
- 7:06Speaker 1: be for next year, but as long as you've got
- 7:07Speaker 1: it booked, then you can get this perk of this
- 7:09Speaker 1: fun selfie.
- 7:11Speaker 2: Y'all. This time of year could be tough.

- 9:07Speaker 1: of who I've met in person. I met Cynthia once,
- 9:11Speaker 1: I met Meredith once, had an actual conversation. And I
- 9:15Speaker 1: have had like a full dinner with lu Anne. She
- 9:18Speaker 1: probably doesn't remember. It was in twenty nineteen. Had a
- 9:22Speaker 1: full dinner at the Soho House in LA with my
- 9:28Speaker 1: friend Elsa Rosen. You know Lisa Rosen. She's a podcast
- 9:33Speaker 1: producer and she's friends with Kate. So I thought, but
- 9:37Speaker 1: she knew lu Anne and we were in town, so
- 9:39Speaker 1: we went to dinner with her.
- 9:40Speaker 2: Oh and yeah, and so all of.
- 9:43Speaker 1: These women, I can't say any of them that I've
- 9:46Speaker 1: met in person in these situations where they're being paid
- 9:49Speaker 1: to be there to be nice. I've never run across
- 9:53Speaker 1: one housewife that was like rude or like hurry or
- 9:56Speaker 1: this is annoying. They're always so generous with their time
- 10:01Speaker 1: and so nice, and they always know the best angles
- 10:04Speaker 1: for the selfie so that you look good too, you know,
- 10:06Speaker 1: because this.
- 10:06Speaker 3: Is their job, right exactly.
- 10:08Speaker 1: I think it's a great tell me about the lash
- 10:10Speaker 1: bar because my lash is always detail.
- 10:14Speaker 4: Okay, So Mary Payne really loves working with Bravo, and
- 10:18Speaker 4: I hope they send you so many streamers and things.
- 10:22Speaker 3: Because we're just the best.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Good luck.
- 10:26Speaker 4: I actually have had kind of a hard time with
- 10:28Speaker 4: NBC and Bravo because, yeah, to try to figure out
- 10:31Speaker 4: what I was going to have in my bar, and
- 10:36Speaker 4: you know, I am a woman business owner and this
- 10:40Speaker 4: isn't a huge business like this is me and I
- 10:43Speaker 4: have like assistance, but like you know, this isn't We're
- 10:45Speaker 4: not talking about like some huge company here. I have
- 10:48Speaker 4: Unilever when Johnson and Johnson does not own me, right,
- 10:53Speaker 4: I can't compete with you know, millions and millions of
- 10:58Speaker 4: dollars of budgets, and I know it's just not going
- 11:00Speaker 4: to happen. So I had to come up with something
- 11:03Speaker 4: and that I could I could do at our Bravo
- 11:06Speaker 4: con bar because I was told hair that was not
- 11:11Speaker 4: going to happen.
- 11:12Speaker 3: I can't.
- 11:13Speaker 4: Again, these are huge, huge, massive companies, and we were
- 11:17Speaker 4: saying a little bit of gossip. Bravo con makes almost
- 11:21Speaker 4: as much money for NBC as the Super Bowl. So
- 11:23Speaker 4: these are like kind of the budgets you're competing with.
- 11:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I could tell you from just even trying to
- 11:28Speaker 1: get like a high noon that costs sixteen dollars. I mean,
- 11:31Speaker 1: you know, everything is so expensive.
- 11:34Speaker 4: It's expensive, and it's very expensive to be there. So
- 11:37Speaker 4: they were saying, you know, well, what are you going
- 11:39Speaker 4: to sell in your booth or what are you going
- 11:42Speaker 4: to do in your booth? And I had to come
- 11:43Speaker 4: up with something, and I said, really on the spot,
- 11:46Speaker 4: I said, well, well that's where we're going to have
- 11:50Speaker 4: a lash bar and that's where we're launching Viva lash Vegas.
- 11:55Speaker 4: I'm like, I didn't have any lashes. So though I
- 12:00Speaker 4: didn't have any lashes, so I said Viva lash Vegas.
- 12:03Speaker 4: And then I thought, well, for people that don't want
- 12:05Speaker 4: to have these like really glamor Vegas eyes, I need
- 12:09Speaker 4: to come up with something else. So what I have
- 12:11Speaker 4: on right now is I have on the C suite
- 12:15Speaker 4: s E E S W E E T. And the
- 12:17Speaker 4: C suite is like for the day for zooms. You know,
- 12:22Speaker 4: if you don't necessarily need want to look like a
- 12:24Speaker 4: show girl, you know, the office nine to five, but
- 12:26Speaker 4: you want to look a little more awake, then that's
- 12:29Speaker 4: the c suite. So we have a night lash and
- 12:32Speaker 4: we have a day lash, and then we have our
- 12:34Speaker 4: very talented makeup artists, a lot of them. A lot
- 12:39Speaker 4: of our makeup artists, by the way, especially the girls
- 12:41Speaker 4: in our booth. One hundred percent of the girls in
- 12:43Speaker 4: our booth, I can tell you have worked on almost
- 12:45Speaker 4: all of the Housewives. So they're ones doing the smoky
- 12:49Speaker 4: eyes with our director, Rivyan Summers, who is amazing. So
- 12:54Speaker 4: that is that's what That's kind of the the backdrop,
- 12:58Speaker 4: you know, for our booth, and it's going to be
- 13:00Speaker 4: fun and.
- 13:01Speaker 1: So that is you can just come to that booth
- 13:03Speaker 1: and do that. And that has nothing to do with
- 13:06Speaker 1: the selfiesse that's like a special thing that you.
- 13:08Speaker 4: Have to know about. Actually, yes, you have to know
- 13:10Speaker 4: about that. To the hair makeup.
- 13:11Speaker 3: Yeah, And.
- 13:13Speaker 4: Are all of our stylists are they're interviewed, their audition
- 13:16Speaker 4: in their background checked. I've been working on this company
- 13:19Speaker 4: and staffing this company for two years. We really are
- 13:22Speaker 4: in every major city. If by some weird champs we're
- 13:26Speaker 4: not in your I would say we are within ten
- 13:29Speaker 4: miles of every major city. If we're not for some
- 13:33Speaker 4: reason in your city, I will find you somebody like
- 13:36Speaker 4: I personally will find you a great talented I like.
- 13:39Speaker 4: That is my promise to you. Please don't hear this
- 13:42Speaker 4: podcast and then book it in one hour if you
- 13:46Speaker 4: live four hours outside of somewhere in North Dakota, because
- 13:49Speaker 4: that's gonna be hard. But you know what I'm saying,
- 13:52Speaker 4: we can work with you here. And I had the idea.
- 13:56Speaker 4: So I was telling Mary Payne that I have spent
- 14:00Speaker 4: some time in the South because my idea when I
- 14:03Speaker 4: was launching this this website. So it's a website Ring
- 14:07Speaker 4: my Bell and Bell is like Southern Bell with the
- 14:10Speaker 4: E at the end. Ring my Bell dot com and
- 14:12Speaker 4: we have an act on the app store rober So
- 14:16Speaker 4: it's like Uber but instead of a car, you know,
- 14:18Speaker 4: you get your stylist, your makeup art nice or your
- 14:21Speaker 4: spray tanner. And my genius idea was, I am going
- 14:25Speaker 4: to go and I'm going to really test this in
- 14:28Speaker 4: a small market. I'm going to go and test it
- 14:31Speaker 4: in Charleston, South Carolina. I had been living in LA
- 14:34Speaker 4: for twenty six years. The crime was not getting better
- 14:38Speaker 4: here and I needed a break. So I went down
- 14:41Speaker 4: to Charleston and I said, you know what, this is
- 14:43Speaker 4: like the number one or number two spot for people
- 14:47Speaker 4: to get married in America, many bachelorette parties. And I
- 14:52Speaker 4: was Sash, I'm going to do my beta testing here.
- 14:56Speaker 4: I'm going to live here. I'm going to make a killing.
- 14:58Speaker 4: It's going to be amazing. I've made friends with like
- 15:01Speaker 4: everybody that's on Southern Charm, so I love them too,
- 15:04Speaker 4: and they're all clients, so that's great. So here I
- 15:08Speaker 4: am with this new business and I launched my business
- 15:11Speaker 4: only to find out my business is illegal in South Carolina.
- 15:15Speaker 3: In Charleston.
- 15:16Speaker 4: Yeah, so I was like, wait, what year is it?
- 15:19Speaker 3: So the law was.
- 15:21Speaker 4: And I was able to change it for makeup artists,
- 15:25Speaker 4: I wasn't able to change it for hairdressers. So we
- 15:27Speaker 4: operate illegal. I'm like my or landscape. I have an
- 15:30Speaker 4: illegal business in Charleston. But I've put so much like
- 15:33Speaker 4: pressure on them. We were in People magazine and national
- 15:36Speaker 4: news and everything that they kind of have laid off
- 15:38Speaker 4: a little bit. But I was shocked to find out
- 15:41Speaker 4: that if you're a cosmatologist, I a woman, and you
- 15:47Speaker 4: work outside of brick and mortar salon in South Carolina,
- 15:52Speaker 4: you can lose your license. However, if you are a barber,
- 15:57Speaker 4: I e a man. You can work wherever you want
- 15:59Speaker 4: and that's fine.
- 16:02Speaker 2: Okay. So like Madison on Southern Charm.
- 16:05Speaker 1: Is a hairstylist. But so she goes to Patricia's house
- 16:08Speaker 1: sometimes and does her hair. You're saying she could lose
- 16:10Speaker 1: her license over that.
- 16:12Speaker 4: She Yeah, that's illegal. So I don't think Patricia's I
- 16:15Speaker 4: don't know that Patricia's paying her. And also I was
- 16:18Speaker 4: trying to kind of shame South Carolina with my People
- 16:21Speaker 4: magazine article. So People Magazine did a big article that
- 16:24Speaker 4: said beauty app founder goes to change sexist South Carolina law.
- 16:29Speaker 4: And I thought these men and men would go, oh god,
- 16:33Speaker 4: that's horrible and change, and instead they doubled down and
- 16:37Speaker 4: they were really mad that I called them sexist, and
- 16:39Speaker 4: it was a whole thing. So we Madison is fabulous.
- 16:44Speaker 4: And Madison told me that she gets offers all the
- 16:49Speaker 4: time for brides that are literally like I will pay
- 16:53Speaker 4: you fifteen thousand dollars to do my hair and makeup,
- 16:56Speaker 4: Like my dream is for Madison to do my wedding,
- 17:00Speaker 4: and she turns them down because it's like she can't
- 17:03Speaker 4: because of who she is.
- 17:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:06Speaker 1: Wow, that's fascinating. That's fascinating. So Madison can go to
- 17:10Speaker 1: Patricia's house and do her hair as long as she's
- 17:12Speaker 1: not getting paid, correct, But if Patricia came to her salon,
- 17:17Speaker 1: then it would be fine. Like that's wild, that's a
- 17:20Speaker 1: crazy but I mean, hey.
- 17:22Speaker 4: Yeah, So so I'm back in LA now. I was
- 17:27Speaker 4: in Charleston for two years. I did my best fight
- 17:29Speaker 4: in it, but I couldn't win. So I'm back in LA.
- 17:32Speaker 4: But do we do They don't bother me. I have
- 17:36Speaker 4: to say, like, nobody is going to be arrested, and
- 17:39Speaker 4: we do do hair and makeup all the time in Charleston.
- 17:42Speaker 2: So okay, hight here first, guys, she's a law breaker.
- 17:45Speaker 4: I'm a lawbry. I am a lawbreaker. They know that
- 17:48Speaker 4: about me though, because I told them when I was testifying,
- 17:52Speaker 4: I said, I just want you to all know that
- 17:54Speaker 4: before I sat here, I broke the law.
- 17:56Speaker 3: And they said, what do you mean?
- 17:57Speaker 4: And I said, I had hair and makeup come to
- 17:59Speaker 4: my hotel and they just kind of laughed. But because
- 18:02Speaker 4: it's so ridiculous, but you know what.
- 18:03Speaker 3: I don't know. You can't.
- 18:04Speaker 4: I couldn't change it.
- 18:05Speaker 1: So it is so ridiculous that it's so like, why
- 18:07Speaker 1: are we going to double down on this like this
- 18:09Speaker 1: as well so important?
- 18:10Speaker 2: Do we have bigger problems in the world?
- 18:12Speaker 4: Yeah, Oh my gosh.
- 18:14Speaker 1: Well, okay, so you've met all these housewives and you've
- 18:18Speaker 1: been them all through your business. Have you ever been
- 18:20Speaker 1: on a housewives show? Like in the background, No, I.
- 18:23Speaker 4: Have not, my my so, Sutton, you So, I've been
- 18:28Speaker 4: in LA for twenty six years before I went to Charleston,
- 18:32Speaker 4: and I you know, I'm very close to Beverly Hills
- 18:34Speaker 4: and one point lived in Beverly Hills, and so I
- 18:38Speaker 4: know all of them, you know what I mean, Like
- 18:40Speaker 4: I see them at dinner or it's Beverly Hills is
- 18:42Speaker 4: a small place, right, so like but you know, I
- 18:46Speaker 4: see Lisa and I see Kai. I you know, it's
- 18:49Speaker 4: kind of you kind of run in the same I
- 18:51Speaker 4: don't run in the in the Bravo circle. But like
- 18:54Speaker 4: we you know, it's you can all go to the
- 18:56Speaker 4: same restaurants. You all go, yeah, right, same charities, the
- 18:59Speaker 4: same party. It's not that big of a deal. And
- 19:04Speaker 4: you know they're all lovely. I haven't I haven't had
- 19:07Speaker 4: any kind of issue with any of them. I have
- 19:10Speaker 4: never been on the show. My company has been on
- 19:12Speaker 4: the show. Funny enough, not from an investor, but Sutton
- 19:17Speaker 4: reached out and she was doing a fashion show on
- 19:21Speaker 4: the season finale for her brand, and my Belle we
- 19:25Speaker 4: did all of the hair and makeup for Sutton's fashion
- 19:27Speaker 4: show for Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for her her
- 19:31Speaker 4: clothing line. Her Sutton Clothing line did get.
- 19:34Speaker 2: A little promo from that. Did they show like Your Love?
- 19:37Speaker 4: They sure did. Yeah, they showed the girls and sudden
- 19:40Speaker 4: you know, she took pictures with all of them and
- 19:42Speaker 4: she she loved.
- 19:43Speaker 3: I mean, we did a great job.
- 19:45Speaker 4: My girls are very, very talented, and we have so
- 19:49Speaker 4: many One of the things that happened where especially LA
- 19:53Speaker 4: and New York. Not that they're not super talented everywhere,
- 19:56Speaker 4: but especially in LA and New York. People find this
- 19:59Speaker 4: hard to believe, but it's true. We have a lot
- 20:02Speaker 4: of a list a list celebrity artists that work for us.
- 20:07Speaker 4: And how that happened was we had a Hollywood strike.
- 20:10Speaker 4: I don't know if you remember the Hollywood strike when anyway.
- 20:14Speaker 2: The business they had.
- 20:17Speaker 4: A whole Hollywood strike and it was the industry hasn't
- 20:21Speaker 4: totally come back yet, but I would get, you know,
- 20:24Speaker 4: resumes and stuff from Kelly Clarkson's personal makeup artists or
- 20:28Speaker 4: like one of Nicole Kidman's or crazy crazy things. Yeah,
- 20:32Speaker 4: I would say looking at these resumes like you guys
- 20:36Speaker 4: have Emmys, like you really want to work it and
- 20:39Speaker 4: then go listen, I'm driving for Uber or I'm doing
- 20:41Speaker 4: posts or whatever, and much rather do make up for you.
- 20:45Speaker 4: I have a mortgage and the industry's so people are
- 20:49Speaker 4: really shocked at the level of talent that comes to
- 20:53Speaker 4: their house like the before and afters, we don't doctor them.
- 20:57Speaker 4: That's really how great our girls are. Our girls are excellent,
- 21:00Speaker 4: and the real hostwives use our girls all the time.
- 21:04Speaker 3: So yeah, top to your talent really great.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Well, you do see on the Housewives show a lot.
- 21:09Speaker 1: You know that they are wherever they are, they're getting
- 21:12Speaker 1: their their hair and their makeup done, and you know
- 21:16Speaker 1: the Erica Girardi sort of Eric Jane started the whole
- 21:20Speaker 1: trend on Housewives of traveling with glam, Like wherever she went,
- 21:25Speaker 1: her glam.
- 21:25Speaker 2: Would go with her. She'd get them seats on the plane,
- 21:28Speaker 2: them rooms at the hotel.
- 21:29Speaker 4: And I think she might be regretting that financial decision, right,
- 21:33Speaker 4: now just.
- 21:33Speaker 1: Saying right right, I'm just saying like you could like
- 21:36Speaker 1: go to your go to a town as long as
- 21:38Speaker 1: it's you know, it's served by you guys, and like, okay,
- 21:40Speaker 1: well let me just call up somebody. If I know
- 21:43Speaker 1: they're going to be respectful or I mean respected rather
- 21:47Speaker 1: in the industry, then they'll come and they'll do just
- 21:49Speaker 1: as great as a job, as long as you can
- 21:51Speaker 1: like vocalize what you want.
- 21:52Speaker 4: You know, we're not much more than the blow dry bars,
- 21:55Speaker 4: and you know we say listen, we actually I think
- 21:58Speaker 4: you come out ahead because you're not paying for travel,
- 22:02Speaker 4: you're not paying for a babysitter, you're not paying for parking,
- 22:06Speaker 4: you're not get like just time and money. All you
- 22:08Speaker 4: have to do is answer the door with damp hair
- 22:11Speaker 4: and a towel for a blowout, well clean face. We
- 22:15Speaker 4: do your makeup updo just have your hair dry and
- 22:19Speaker 4: spray tand you know, just answer the door in the
- 22:22Speaker 4: robe and go nude or a bathing suit or whatever.
- 22:25Speaker 4: It's fine. This is a woman on woman business. And
- 22:28Speaker 4: the whole time that I've had this business, I can
- 22:31Speaker 4: tell you Craig from Southern Charm is a good client
- 22:35Speaker 4: of ours. But we don't have a lot of men.
- 22:38Speaker 4: So you know, we have some gay men that like spraytnds. Yeah,
- 22:43Speaker 4: we've had a couple bodybuilders that wanted spray hands in Vegas.
- 22:47Speaker 4: But ninety nine point ninety ninety nine, our client teller women.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Does Craig get spray Day's or is he getting his
- 22:55Speaker 2: hair done?
- 22:56Speaker 4: Hair? He does a lot of Craig is a lot
- 23:01Speaker 4: of promo for his store, So I feel like that
- 23:04Speaker 4: they're they're there just like powder up his nose and
- 23:07Speaker 4: like straighten his hair out a little bit for photo
- 23:09Speaker 4: shoots and things like that. Yeah, yeah, he's great. Our
- 23:13Speaker 4: girls love him. He is so polite and his team
- 23:16Speaker 4: is so wonderful and he's I mean, And of course
- 23:20Speaker 4: she says can I take a selfie? Can we put
- 23:21Speaker 4: it on an Instagram? And he's not an investor, and
- 23:24Speaker 4: he still says yes.
- 23:25Speaker 1: You know, yeah, I met him one time too. I
- 23:28Speaker 1: went to one of his like pillow events, Like I
- 23:30Speaker 1: just went and was like, Hi, can I get a picture?
- 23:33Speaker 1: And he was totally nice. He was I was like,
- 23:36Speaker 1: let's do We're gonna do like just hold the pillow.
- 23:39Speaker 1: He goes, do you want to do a boomerang. We
- 23:41Speaker 1: could jump up and down like he was coming up
- 23:42Speaker 1: with suggestions.
- 23:43Speaker 4: I was like, Okay, yeah, it's cool. He's really cool.
- 23:47Speaker 4: So yeah, we have we have, really I have. Like
- 23:50Speaker 4: you know, if you wanted to talk about bad people
- 23:52Speaker 4: I've dealt with in.
- 23:53Speaker 2: Hollywood, yes I do.
- 23:55Speaker 3: I do go a whole episode on that.
- 23:57Speaker 4: But but I have to say, as far as like
- 23:59Speaker 4: the the people that I've worked with with Bravo, I've
- 24:03Speaker 4: been very lucky. We've had We've had great, great people,
- 24:07Speaker 4: and and you know, I'm trying to think they really
- 24:11Speaker 4: do all use us.
- 24:13Speaker 3: They really do.
- 24:14Speaker 1: So have you ever had a regular person hire one
- 24:17Speaker 1: of your artists and be like, I would like the
- 24:19Speaker 1: Teresa Judais.
- 24:20Speaker 2: At her wedding hair. I would like my hair to
- 24:23Speaker 2: be twelve feet high.
- 24:24Speaker 4: We know we don't even have the capability to do that.
- 24:27Speaker 4: We don't. I actually want to be honest, I was
- 24:31Speaker 4: afraid to have any Okay, so I don't watch any
- 24:35Speaker 4: of the shows, which I have to say is like
- 24:37Speaker 4: amazing because people would say to me, oh my goodness, like,
- 24:41Speaker 4: what's it like dealing with Meredith, the most lovely, easiest
- 24:45Speaker 4: person to deal with? I'd I literally have no idea
- 24:47Speaker 4: what you're referencing, like like they all have to, I
- 24:51Speaker 4: think act a certain way to keep their jobs on
- 24:53Speaker 4: the shows. And I don't watch the shows because I
- 24:56Speaker 4: can tell you I don't deal.
- 24:57Speaker 3: We don't have any drama.
- 24:59Speaker 4: I wish I could give you juicy stuff, but I
- 25:01Speaker 4: don't have any drama with any of them. They're all lovely,
- 25:04Speaker 4: they're professional, they are on time, they they're just like
- 25:09Speaker 4: they're you know, at the end of the day, the
- 25:11Speaker 4: people that stick around on Bravo and are like good
- 25:16Speaker 4: Bravo TV, would you say or however you they're business
- 25:20Speaker 4: people and Bravo is a business, and staying on that
- 25:23Speaker 4: show is a business. So you know, the people that
- 25:26Speaker 4: I've dealt with have been around for long enough that
- 25:29Speaker 4: they get the game and they're kind of they're winning it,
- 25:32Speaker 4: you know. They they know how to play the game
- 25:35Speaker 4: because they're smart. So they're just smart business people and
- 25:40Speaker 4: they know I'm just trying to make them money. I'm
- 25:43Speaker 4: trying to grow this business. They're very supportive, you know.
- 25:47Speaker 4: They they get they get a fortune to make appearances
- 25:51Speaker 4: and things like that, and they want to come and
- 25:53Speaker 4: say hi to the fans that support my business. Because
- 25:58Speaker 4: they're involved in my business and they know it's a
- 26:00Speaker 4: small business, and they know, you know, I don't have
- 26:03Speaker 4: fifty thousand dollars to pay them to show up and
- 26:05Speaker 4: cut a ribbon, you.
- 26:06Speaker 2: Know, yeah, right right right.
- 26:08Speaker 4: So just the fact that they're they're willing to be
- 26:10Speaker 4: part of this like VIP insider perk type thing is
- 26:15Speaker 4: that speaks volumes because they can go to a they
- 26:20Speaker 4: can use that hour and make tens and tens of
- 26:22Speaker 4: thousands of dollars, you know.
- 26:23Speaker 1: Yeah, they could just answer their cameos or whatever and
- 26:26Speaker 1: make so much money, you know. All right, let me
- 26:29Speaker 1: ask you about some hair and makeup question for ladies
- 26:34Speaker 1: of a certain age. Spraytnds. Okay, I've gotten spray TNS.
- 26:39Speaker 1: I like a spray tank because I am milky white,
- 26:42Speaker 1: and so sometimes you just do a little color. Now,
- 26:45Speaker 1: sometimes I'm just like a Jurgen's lotion mixed with my.
- 26:48Speaker 2: Lession and I'm good.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Yeah, the spreetand for me is great, but because I
- 26:53Speaker 1: have like sun spots on my legs from all the
- 26:56Speaker 1: damage that you do to yourself, you know when you're younger,
- 26:59Speaker 1: and we laid out baby old because we didn't know
- 27:02Speaker 1: sun damage but what I found with the spraytn is
- 27:05Speaker 1: if I have like sunspots on my legs, when you
- 27:07Speaker 1: do a spray tann, it enhances, it makes it look worse,
- 27:09Speaker 1: and now it look like I have like leprosy.
- 27:12Speaker 3: No, no, oh, Harry, I don't know. I wish I
- 27:15Speaker 3: could tell you.
- 27:17Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 27:18Speaker 2: There are a way to avoid that.
- 27:19Speaker 4: I was going to ask you, I mean, could we
- 27:23Speaker 4: I feel like I'm on Can we phone a friend?
- 27:26Speaker 3: Read? Is there like a phone a friend I can
- 27:28Speaker 3: use for this?
- 27:29Speaker 2: No?
- 27:30Speaker 4: I don't. I actually do not do this perform the services.
- 27:33Speaker 4: You know, my beauty director goes with me, and how
- 27:39Speaker 4: we do it is well, you know, Cynthia will put
- 27:42Speaker 4: up on her Instagram like, hey Atlanta, ridden my bell
- 27:46Speaker 4: is in your city, and if you're in, if you're
- 27:48Speaker 4: a talented makeup artist or spray tanner or you know, hairstylist,
- 27:53Speaker 4: please email them and they'll get back to you. And
- 27:56Speaker 4: then I rent an airbnb for week and I bring
- 28:01Speaker 4: my my beauty director with me and we have like
- 28:04Speaker 4: four days where they come and they either they bring
- 28:07Speaker 4: a model or that they do the you know, we
- 28:09Speaker 4: do the whole thing and they do it all there
- 28:11Speaker 4: and my I know what I like and it looks good.
- 28:14Speaker 4: But I mean, I'm not a professional, so my beauty
- 28:16Speaker 4: director will be there and that's how we do it.
- 28:19Speaker 4: So I don't I really don't know. I'm just I'm
- 28:22Speaker 4: just enore meus.
- 28:26Speaker 1: Well, okay, let me ask you this. Do you have
- 28:28Speaker 1: an opinion on ladies of a certain age of which
- 28:31Speaker 1: I'm just trying to like I am, you know over
- 28:33Speaker 1: fifty five?
- 28:34Speaker 2: What is our great?
- 28:36Speaker 3: You look very good?
- 28:37Speaker 1: Well, you know I told you beforehand I had to
- 28:38Speaker 1: put a little filter on here because.
- 28:40Speaker 3: Every same we all no, no, you look wonderful.
- 28:45Speaker 1: What do you think is like the biggest beauty mistake?
- 28:48Speaker 1: I mean I see a lot of beauty mistakes intelligence,
- 28:50Speaker 1: especially on my TLC shows with like the giant lashes, yeah,
- 28:56Speaker 1: or the makeup is so like cakey and we're all
- 28:59Speaker 1: like striving to look our best so that we don't
- 29:01Speaker 1: look like that. But I do think some of these
- 29:03Speaker 1: ladies housewives, especially on camera, have to wear more makeup
- 29:07Speaker 1: than they would in a normal day because you're on camera,
- 29:09Speaker 1: So how could like what is what do you.
- 29:11Speaker 2: Think is a beauty mistake?
- 29:13Speaker 1: Ladies of a certain age make besides the giant olashes
- 29:17Speaker 1: that look insane.
- 29:19Speaker 4: You know, I think that as we get older, it's unfortunately.
- 29:24Speaker 4: I mean, I'm due for my facelift. I'm going to
- 29:26Speaker 4: go get my face done in January because I can't anymore.
- 29:31Speaker 4: I thought it.
- 29:32Speaker 3: I think, I know.
- 29:33Speaker 4: I told I don't know what this is rated, but
- 29:35Speaker 4: I said, I put eyeshadow on now, and I feel
- 29:37Speaker 4: like it's putting it on like a man's ball sack
- 29:40Speaker 4: and it's still good. So we can't. I need to
- 29:46Speaker 4: lift everything up. This is just like so I feel
- 29:50Speaker 4: like less, less is more and foundation. See, I feel
- 29:55Speaker 4: like foundation really can aid you with more mature skin,
- 29:59Speaker 4: because yeah, into the creeks, in the in the cracks.
- 30:03Speaker 4: But I am a big I am the worst as
- 30:06Speaker 4: far as like natural. I wrote beauty for a long time,
- 30:09Speaker 4: you know. I wrote for Harper's Bizarre and I I've
- 30:12Speaker 4: been in the but I have been in the beauty
- 30:14Speaker 4: industry for like twenty six years. I have there's a
- 30:17Speaker 4: product of that we work with that I love a
- 30:19Speaker 4: lot called Mimosa Laine. It is a sun so like
- 30:26Speaker 4: you were saying, this makes me think, so the woman
- 30:28Speaker 4: that created Mimosa Laane. It's really cool she was an
- 30:32Speaker 4: esthetician for a long time and she put self tanner
- 30:37Speaker 4: in the face serum. So you know how sprays hands
- 30:41Speaker 4: can dry you out. Yes, yes, so this has like
- 30:45Speaker 4: vitamin D and vitamin C and all these anti aging
- 30:48Speaker 4: things in it. But also it gives.
- 30:50Speaker 3: You a really nice glow.
- 30:52Speaker 4: So sometimes we have our makeup artists use out on
- 30:55Speaker 4: people before and it only it only.
- 30:57Speaker 3: Takes a minute to dry, So sometimes.
- 30:59Speaker 4: We have our makeup artists use that on people as
- 31:02Speaker 4: a primer because then when they wash their face at
- 31:05Speaker 4: the end of you know, the evening, their event and
- 31:07Speaker 4: make up up, they're left with like a nice, healthy glow.
- 31:11Speaker 2: Okay, all right, I would I really like.
- 31:15Speaker 4: That mimosalaine serum with the self tanner in it. I
- 31:18Speaker 4: think it's really amazing.
- 31:20Speaker 2: You sent me.
- 31:21Speaker 1: You sent me a huge bag of stuff, so I
- 31:22Speaker 1: wonder if that's in there.
- 31:23Speaker 4: I'll have to go yeah, yeah, I hope it is,
- 31:26Speaker 4: because it's fantastic.
- 31:28Speaker 1: When I get my makeup done, I'm going to bring
- 31:30Speaker 1: the lashes that you sent me.
- 31:32Speaker 4: Are you going to bring Viva lash Vegas the night
- 31:35Speaker 4: ones or the day ones?
- 31:36Speaker 2: Day ones?
- 31:37Speaker 1: I gotta wear day lashes even in the night time
- 31:39Speaker 1: because I have little, tiny, beady, little possum eyes, so
- 31:43Speaker 1: I have to wear small lashes.
- 31:46Speaker 4: It won't look We're like so mean about ourselves your eyes.
- 31:49Speaker 4: I know we're awful. Stop that, Mary Payne, like, don't
- 31:53Speaker 4: talk about yourself like that.
- 31:54Speaker 2: I know I have to.
- 31:55Speaker 4: How did you get into this? Now?
- 31:57Speaker 3: Were you? What is your favorite Bravo show?
- 32:01Speaker 1: Well, I would say right now Real House Has of
- 32:05Speaker 1: Salt Lake City is my favorite. But in the past
- 32:08Speaker 1: it was always Vanderpump Rules, which now has moved into
- 32:11Speaker 1: the Valley. But I love all the housewives. I watch
- 32:14Speaker 1: all of them. I've watched every single one, every single episode,
- 32:17Speaker 1: every single season. But right now it's Salt Lake City.
- 32:21Speaker 1: And I met Meredith and Brooks at Bravo Con two
- 32:24Speaker 1: years ago and they were they were very nice, very nice.
- 32:29Speaker 4: So beautiful is and she's she's so beautiful.
- 32:31Speaker 3: That's the thing to these women.
- 32:33Speaker 4: They they really look great in person as well, Like.
- 32:36Speaker 1: Yeah, you don't see in person, they don't look like
- 32:39Speaker 1: they have on that cakey makeup, I mean a little.
- 32:41Speaker 1: Sometimes you see them and then you look in the
- 32:42Speaker 1: pictures and it doesn't look like that. That's why I
- 32:46Speaker 1: like when i'm getting my makeup done. I'm always like,
- 32:48Speaker 1: oh my god, now I look like a full drag queen.
- 32:50Speaker 1: Like no, I promise in the pictures you won't well right,
- 32:53Speaker 1: and then you and you don't, And I think, I
- 32:55Speaker 1: guess that's the trick of a good makeup artist to
- 32:57Speaker 1: make you like where you look so great in the pictures.
- 32:59Speaker 4: Yeah, you are always camera makeup is always heavier.
- 33:02Speaker 3: The camera's rough.
- 33:04Speaker 4: I mean with makeup, it's more flattering, and it always
- 33:07Speaker 4: puts ten pounds on you.
- 33:09Speaker 2: Mm hm oh.
- 33:10Speaker 1: Yeah, you're always like gotta. You're like gotta left the
- 33:12Speaker 1: house feeling pretty good, but dang.
- 33:14Speaker 4: And you stand next to these people and they're they're
- 33:16Speaker 4: like I I hate it because we do photoships and
- 33:19Speaker 4: they show up. I'm like, oh god, I was having
- 33:21Speaker 4: like a good day and they're all they're all skinny.
- 33:24Speaker 4: They're all really skinny and tall.
- 33:26Speaker 1: Everybody's tall. There are a few that aren't very tall.
- 33:29Speaker 1: Angie K from Salt Lake City, she's very short. I
- 33:32Speaker 1: met her last two years ago as well, But most
- 33:35Speaker 1: of them were like like Cynthia Bailey's like glamazon.
- 33:37Speaker 4: Like tall and the model yeah a model.
- 33:41Speaker 1: Say Lun a model Okay, so that was okay, what
- 33:45Speaker 1: about treatments and like at home devices? What's your thought
- 33:49Speaker 1: on that? I mean if you used to write about
- 33:50Speaker 1: the beauty industry, Yeah, is Guinea Pig. So I love
- 33:58Speaker 1: that I had, so so I would do treatments. Okay,
- 34:02Speaker 1: So I mean I was before Instagram, right. So I
- 34:06Speaker 1: did a.
- 34:06Speaker 4: Story called I'm a Size zero and I had lightp
- 34:09Speaker 4: bo section and I ended up talking about it on
- 34:13Speaker 4: Good Morning America because the article so I wrote about
- 34:16Speaker 4: it for Harper's Bizarre A size zero and I had
- 34:19Speaker 4: light bo section, and it went like my stomach was
- 34:23Speaker 4: a bigger story than isis like everybody my stomach was
- 34:28Speaker 4: everywhere because the article was about that. I you know,
- 34:33Speaker 4: I was. This article was more than ten years ago.
- 34:36Speaker 4: But I was really a small person everywhere except my stomach.
- 34:42Speaker 3: So I would go to the dry.
- 34:44Speaker 4: Cleaners or the nail salon or you know wherever, and
- 34:48Speaker 4: people would always congratulate me on my baby I know,
- 34:53Speaker 4: which was fine, but I wasn't pregnant.
- 34:56Speaker 2: Right right, right, Okay.
- 34:58Speaker 4: I would actually have people ar with me where I go, oh,
- 35:01Speaker 4: you know, I just put weight there, and they go, oh, no, girl,
- 35:03Speaker 4: you're pregnant, like you're pregnant. And I was like, this
- 35:06Speaker 4: is ridiculous. So then I did all of this. I
- 35:10Speaker 4: worked out, I did, I did the whole thing, only protein,
- 35:14Speaker 4: I stayed away from alcohol. I did everything, and then
- 35:17Speaker 4: everything else got really tighter, and then my stomach looked
- 35:20Speaker 4: even bigger. So like this is this is horrible. So
- 35:24Speaker 4: I went and they and so good morning America. Actually
- 35:27Speaker 4: they brought on a doctor that said I wasn't crazy
- 35:30Speaker 4: that some people put fat on. Okay, so some people
- 35:34Speaker 4: put fat where it SIPs on the muscle kind of
- 35:39Speaker 4: like how I'm really lucky with this like double chin
- 35:41Speaker 4: thing here too, like that, that's why I want to
- 35:43Speaker 4: get everything picked up. Is like you can exercise all
- 35:46Speaker 4: day long. Yeah, you're not getting rid of your double
- 35:49Speaker 4: like this when we get old. I'm sorry, a lot
- 35:51Speaker 4: of us get this turkey thing and you can think
- 35:54Speaker 4: thank your parents for that. Apparently, same thing with some
- 35:58Speaker 4: people that put weight on and there's like above the muscle.
- 36:01Speaker 4: Like I could have sat there and done like you know,
- 36:04Speaker 4: sit ups all day and there was nothing that they
- 36:06Speaker 4: could do except if I want to get rid of it.
- 36:08Speaker 3: Sorry, they just sucked it up.
- 36:10Speaker 4: So that is what I wrote the story about, because
- 36:12Speaker 4: it was just like you know, so of course that
- 36:14Speaker 4: went viral because I sounded like a total lunatic because
- 36:18Speaker 4: what kind of size zero person gets liposelections?
- 36:20Speaker 2: So that's right.
- 36:21Speaker 4: But I mean I've done, you know, I've done all
- 36:24Speaker 4: sorts of things, and I don't. You know, everybody's going
- 36:28Speaker 4: to get mad at me because I don't think they work.
- 36:31Speaker 4: I really don't. They say, well, what about the late
- 36:34Speaker 4: microhone needling. I think the micro needling does does do
- 36:37Speaker 4: a lot of stuff for discoloration and age bots and
- 36:40Speaker 4: all that. But I've done the la I've done the lasers,
- 36:43Speaker 4: and I've done it, and I think, unfortunately, you just
- 36:48Speaker 4: gotta I'm sorry. I think we just tell you just
- 36:51Speaker 4: I don't. I wish I could tell you there's a
- 36:53Speaker 4: magic laser out there that's going to take you know,
- 36:55Speaker 4: ten years off you, but I don't think there is,
- 36:58Speaker 4: or I haven't found it yet.
- 37:00Speaker 2: You know, I just did. I just did a couple
- 37:03Speaker 2: of weeks ago.
- 37:03Speaker 1: I did a laser and it's called some sort of
- 37:06Speaker 1: IPL and then a cool peel and I mean literally,
- 37:10Speaker 1: it's practically the price of a Bravocon ticket to get it.
- 37:13Speaker 4: Done.
- 37:13Speaker 1: But it's crazy because then my skin, which is normally
- 37:17Speaker 1: very freckly, there's like no freckles.
- 37:19Speaker 2: It's like starting fresh it right off, right, like burn
- 37:24Speaker 2: it all off.
- 37:24Speaker 4: Yes, yeah, I think that. No, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
- 37:29Speaker 4: I think those things work for like texture, yeah, thoughts
- 37:33Speaker 4: and things like that, but as far as like it's
- 37:34Speaker 4: not going to lift your skin owls, yeah, that's it's like.
- 37:38Speaker 4: And that's what bothers me is my you know, the
- 37:40Speaker 4: jowls and the neck and all that jazz you know,
- 37:42Speaker 4: so so.
- 37:43Speaker 1: Well, I think it was Nora Evron that wrote a
- 37:45Speaker 1: book I feel bad about my neck, right, And it's
- 37:49Speaker 1: like when she got to a certain age, everybody's sitting
- 37:51Speaker 1: around and their little collars are all trying to hide
- 37:54Speaker 1: their neck, you know, and and you know, you go,
- 37:57Speaker 1: and I mean I go and I get botox and stuff,
- 37:58Speaker 1: and they do it all everywhere. But is like still,
- 38:00Speaker 1: you know, I've still got the stuff.
- 38:03Speaker 2: I've still got the stuff.
- 38:04Speaker 1: And I will take a surgery and a heartbeat.
- 38:07Speaker 2: I don't care.
- 38:08Speaker 3: I'll do it.
- 38:09Speaker 4: In a heartbeat. And that's so and you know what
- 38:11Speaker 4: I have to say, Like I said, I don't watch
- 38:14Speaker 4: the shows, but I do know. I read page six
- 38:17Speaker 4: like it's going out of style, Like yeah, okay, I
- 38:19Speaker 4: hit refresh on page six like constantly, so I know,
- 38:22Speaker 4: like who's being robbed, who's declaring bankruptcy? Right, like, well, page.
- 38:28Speaker 3: Six writes about it. I get it.
- 38:29Speaker 4: So I do think it is refreshing. Actually, one of
- 38:33Speaker 4: the things about Housewives is, for better or worse, they
- 38:37Speaker 4: have normalized facelifts, and they've normalized you know whatever like
- 38:43Speaker 4: that Shannon, the one that you spoke about how she
- 38:47Speaker 4: was talking. I believe that's someone with the facelift that
- 38:49Speaker 4: got into like I know, because she was like suing
- 38:51Speaker 4: someone for not paying for you know, some crazy.
- 38:54Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, it's Shannon Badoor and John Jansen.
- 38:56Speaker 1: Yes he paid, he paid for her face left and
- 38:59Speaker 1: the new suit her for the money back.
- 39:00Speaker 2: But they were dating at the time and yeah yeah.
- 39:02Speaker 4: Yeah, twenty years ago, no one would even admit that
- 39:04Speaker 4: they had a facelift. And then that's why when I
- 39:07Speaker 4: was doing the stuff for Harper's or anything, really, I
- 39:11Speaker 4: was really honest about it about the light Bob and this,
- 39:14Speaker 4: because it's just I don't think it's fair when especially
- 39:18Speaker 4: women in the public eye, like how you know, j
- 39:20Speaker 4: Low is like, oh, you know, I just woke up
- 39:22Speaker 4: like this, Well here, glat, I mean, come on, So
- 39:24Speaker 4: I just think, like it is it? Should we all
- 39:28Speaker 4: accept ourselves and be happy? And beauty is within? And
- 39:31Speaker 4: they say, yes, beauty comes from within, it comes from
- 39:33Speaker 4: within like powders and packages and you know whatever, But really,
- 39:38Speaker 4: sure should we all have it be beautiful on the
- 39:40Speaker 4: inside and that should be enough? Sure, however, we all know,
- 39:44Speaker 4: we know, and I think that there is something somewhat
- 39:48Speaker 4: refreshing that they are very honest about the procedures that
- 39:54Speaker 4: they get, so that you're not someone that is so
- 39:57Speaker 4: you know, watches these people and Bravo's given an audience,
- 40:02Speaker 4: you know, for women in their late fifties and sixties,
- 40:04Speaker 4: and I think Patricia is probably what almost eighty, I hope, right.
- 40:10Speaker 4: And you know when NBC and when they used to
- 40:13Speaker 4: talk about shows for old people, they meant shows that
- 40:15Speaker 4: were people were over the age of thirty five on them.
- 40:20Speaker 1: I mean really, yeah, yeah, yeah, you think, yeah, you're right.
- 40:24Speaker 1: And I do love that about our ladies on Bravo
- 40:27Speaker 1: because someone was like, these people are my same age.
- 40:28Speaker 4: You know.
- 40:29Speaker 1: Now, granted I don't have access to col Richards type money.
- 40:33Speaker 2: But you know I can, Yeah.
- 40:34Speaker 4: Bring my money, you bring? I do?
- 40:38Speaker 2: I do?
- 40:39Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 40:40Speaker 2: Again, that was a good point.
- 40:41Speaker 1: You may at the beginning like you may not have
- 40:43Speaker 1: the twenty five thousand dollars or may bag, but you
- 40:46Speaker 1: can get your makeup done and look cute for.
- 40:48Speaker 2: A night, you know.
- 40:49Speaker 1: Yeah, and again I get like your point was how
- 40:52Speaker 1: many of them do as well?
- 40:55Speaker 2: Okay, but let's talk about this, okay.
- 40:57Speaker 1: So Ring my Bell is going to do my makeup
- 40:59Speaker 1: for the braw Con event that I'm having on Saturday,
- 41:02Speaker 1: November fifteen with Ron Dailey. That's what I'm going to
- 41:05Speaker 1: have a makeup done. I'll be sure to tag you
- 41:06Speaker 1: and all that. I'm very excited about it. I've had
- 41:09Speaker 1: my makeup done professionally a couple of times, and I'm
- 41:13Speaker 1: the kind I don't like how they turn you away
- 41:15Speaker 1: from the mirror so you can't look. I don't like that,
- 41:18Speaker 1: but I know they have to do that. So you
- 41:19Speaker 1: don't like me comment the whole time, but I also
- 41:24Speaker 1: like to.
- 41:24Speaker 3: Know you're a commenter. I'll put it in.
- 41:26Speaker 1: I have a commenter, and I don't like a lot
- 41:29Speaker 1: of makeup and whenever they do it I'm always like,
- 41:31Speaker 1: we're gonna have to take it down. We're gonna have
- 41:33Speaker 1: to take it down. Like I don't like a lot
- 41:35Speaker 1: of makeup.
- 41:35Speaker 4: So how our business works, we can't do this. If
- 41:38Speaker 4: somebody orders, you know, like one day in advance, and
- 41:41Speaker 4: I have to say, even though we.
- 41:42Speaker 3: Are like on demand, and I don't know why I.
- 41:44Speaker 4: Ever did that because it's so much stress. But even
- 41:46Speaker 4: though we are on demand, I would say, most people
- 41:50Speaker 4: order like a week in advance, which is great.
- 41:53Speaker 2: You know you have something, yes, right, great now.
- 41:56Speaker 4: Because then what happens is my assistant two days before
- 42:01Speaker 4: the appointment, she sends you an email just confirming everything,
- 42:05Speaker 4: and she says, please respond with a picture of what
- 42:09Speaker 4: you look like and what you would like to look like.
- 42:13Speaker 4: And then once we have that, before these stylists gets
- 42:17Speaker 4: to your house, the stylist knows what you look like
- 42:21Speaker 4: and what you like to what you would like to
- 42:23Speaker 4: look like, which is like, it just helps us stylists.
- 42:26Speaker 4: Those bags are heavy, you know what, like, so they
- 42:29Speaker 4: know they don't want to get somewhere and have somebody say,
- 42:32Speaker 4: you know, I was I was really looking for you know, X,
- 42:34Speaker 4: Y and Z. And we want to make sure that
- 42:37Speaker 4: we have everything completely prepared, so like we will reach
- 42:41Speaker 4: out to you Mary Payne and say, what is like
- 42:43Speaker 4: your goal to look like that night and make sure
- 42:46Speaker 4: that we deliver on it.
- 42:48Speaker 3: We don't like some guy.
- 42:49Speaker 4: And then at the end of every and some people
- 42:54Speaker 4: hate this and I'm sorry, but your stylist gets in
- 42:57Speaker 4: trouble if they don't do it, because.
- 42:59Speaker 3: It takes two seconds.
- 43:00Speaker 4: We just have a survey that says like, are you happy, yeah,
- 43:04Speaker 4: and then it goes back to our company and it
- 43:08Speaker 4: just makes us. It keeps us, you know, on our
- 43:12Speaker 4: toes because we you know, every stylist we actually our
- 43:16Speaker 4: reviews are are excellent. Like I said, we have excellent,
- 43:19Speaker 4: excellent reviews, but if something is not excellent, we want
- 43:22Speaker 4: to know because we want to make sure that we
- 43:24Speaker 4: have a really great company and that we provide really
- 43:28Speaker 4: great service. Kate Casey used us for her daughter's prom
- 43:34Speaker 4: and she was thrilled. So that made me happy, you know,
- 43:37Speaker 4: especially we have a pretty we have a pretty exclusive
- 43:43Speaker 4: even though our prices aren't crazy, We're not cheap. We're
- 43:46Speaker 4: we're not bargain basement, okay we're not, but we're not
- 43:50Speaker 4: like so cost prohibitive that you're like, oh my god,
- 43:52Speaker 4: I could never use the service because our blowouts are
- 43:55Speaker 4: one hundred and fifteen dollars and that includes everything, and
- 43:58Speaker 4: I think, you know, I think the blowout bars now
- 44:01Speaker 4: we're all about one hundred. And then again, you don't
- 44:03Speaker 4: need a babysitter, you don't need to page you have
- 44:06Speaker 4: to go.
- 44:07Speaker 3: You don't go.
- 44:08Speaker 4: Anywhere you know you're paying for convenience. And by the way,
- 44:10Speaker 4: I don't know if you've been to the grocery store lately,
- 44:12Speaker 4: but that's like a bag to groceres so, right, So
- 44:16Speaker 4: we want to make it so that it is something
- 44:21Speaker 4: that you feel is really worth it. Yeahcause our client
- 44:25Speaker 4: I have to say, our client retention is very high.
- 44:28Speaker 4: We have people that use us, some of them, like
- 44:30Speaker 4: you know, we're in wealthy areas. We're in Greenwich, Connecticut,
- 44:33Speaker 4: We're in Palm Beach, We're in Scottsdale.
- 44:35Speaker 3: And we have some women that do use us once.
- 44:37Speaker 2: A week, right because they can, right, because they can't.
- 44:40Speaker 1: Yeah, But most people like me, I will do it
- 44:43Speaker 1: like once a year for like a big event if
- 44:44Speaker 1: I know there's got to be pictures, or if it's
- 44:46Speaker 1: like a wedding or anything like that. You know that,
- 44:49Speaker 1: And that's interesting asking you about weddings too, because like
- 44:52Speaker 1: at my niece's wedding a few years ago, they had
- 44:55Speaker 1: like four makeup artists there so the bridesmaids could come
- 44:58Speaker 1: in and then like us as like the ants, like
- 45:00Speaker 1: we could go in and at the last minute they
- 45:02Speaker 1: just kind of pop some lashes on us and helped
- 45:04Speaker 1: us so we didn't look so washed out. So it's
- 45:07Speaker 1: it's uh, and those lashes were crazy. I remember thinking, like,
- 45:10Speaker 1: these lashes are too big, and then I look at
- 45:12Speaker 1: the pictures. I'm like, shouldn't it great?
- 45:14Speaker 4: No, really, I think.
- 45:16Speaker 1: Yeah, they were just for me. Just I think they
- 45:19Speaker 1: probably looked great in the pictures. But to me, I
- 45:22Speaker 1: was like, I look like I have butterflies that landed
- 45:25Speaker 1: on my face. So I will let when, uh, will
- 45:28Speaker 1: you guys call me a couple of days before I'll
- 45:29Speaker 1: light you know, like I don't. I'm like a I'm
- 45:32Speaker 1: kind of like a natural looking girl.
- 45:34Speaker 2: But for a.
- 45:34Speaker 4: Picture, we're gonna So she's gonna email you and then
- 45:37Speaker 4: you respond with what either a picture of yourself where
- 45:41Speaker 4: you're like I looked amazing in this fear yes, or
- 45:45Speaker 4: if you have like a celebrity or just somebody off
- 45:48Speaker 4: the internet that you say, I like this s glowy look,
- 45:50Speaker 4: or I like this smoky look. Right, So, because everybody's
- 45:53Speaker 4: definition of everything is a little different. So if you
- 45:55Speaker 4: have a picture, it says a thousand words, we know
- 45:57Speaker 4: what we're looking at, we know what you want. There's
- 46:01Speaker 4: not any miscommunication. We can see it right there. And
- 46:04Speaker 4: then also you can like reference it and go, you know,
- 46:06Speaker 4: I screenshoted this and I replied to the email with this,
- 46:11Speaker 4: but actually looking at it, now, do you have anything
- 46:13Speaker 4: that's maybe a little more nude for my lip or
- 46:15Speaker 4: a little I would say our most popular and I
- 46:19Speaker 4: hate to say it because I'm so sick of them,
- 46:22Speaker 4: but it's still the same thing. Like I still get
- 46:24Speaker 4: and I say, Okay, what do you want to look like?
- 46:27Speaker 4: And nine times out of ten it's a picture of
- 46:30Speaker 4: Kim Kardashian.
- 46:31Speaker 2: I just have to say, it's got to be a Kardashian.
- 46:33Speaker 3: Y is it is? It always is.
- 46:36Speaker 4: I'm always like, oh great, here we go like there
- 46:38Speaker 4: And here's the best part too, is they'll say I
- 46:41Speaker 4: just want something supernatural, and I'm like, all right, amazing,
- 46:45Speaker 4: Just send me the picture of what you want to
- 46:46Speaker 4: look like. And then they literally send a picture of
- 46:49Speaker 4: Kim Kardashian briand and hair and makeup for probably eight
- 46:52Speaker 4: hours when they send the picture, and like, all right,
- 46:54Speaker 4: so that's why we need the picture because everybody's definition
- 46:57Speaker 4: of natural apparently is different.
- 47:00Speaker 1: Yeah, right right, that's so funny. Yeah, I would like
- 47:03Speaker 1: to look natural like Kim Kardashian. Listen, she's a beautiful girl,
- 47:06Speaker 1: just like j Loo j Loo. Just no drinking in
- 47:09Speaker 1: eight hours of sleep and that's how she looks as good.
- 47:11Speaker 2: As she does, right, sure, sure she does.
- 47:16Speaker 1: Don't hang up, but everybody make sure you're following Ring
- 47:18Speaker 1: my Bell with an with A with an L, ring
- 47:21Speaker 1: my Bell with an E, ring.
- 47:23Speaker 4: My Bell Co. On Instagram. And we're going to start
- 47:25Speaker 4: giveaways and things like that too, you know. But like
- 47:28Speaker 4: I said, we will not be posting the time that
- 47:31Speaker 4: the housewives will be at our booth. You have to
- 47:35Speaker 4: order for that because we are.
- 47:36Speaker 2: Not We'll have to have the appointment. Yeah.
- 47:38Speaker 4: Yeah, we don't want to stampede and we want to
- 47:40Speaker 4: really like VIP experience, and you're not going to get
- 47:43Speaker 4: that if it's a whole you know, cluster.
- 47:46Speaker 1: Yeah, Okay, good, all right, So everybody go to ring
