- Najah: You know what I've been realizing? Relationships and partnerships are not the same thing. A relationship is just a description. Employer employee, that's a relationship. Mother and son, that's a relationship. Friends that's a relationship. Two people dating, that's a relationship. The word relationship simply defines how two people are connected. But partnership? Partnership is different. Partnership is about collaboration. mutual investment and mutual benefit. And that's what I want romantically. Not just a connection. A partnership. Because in partnership, nobody is carrying the entire weight alone. Nobody is acting like they're superior to the other person. Nobody is expecting ownership over another human being. Both people are contributing. Both people are invested. Both people are committed to the outcome. See in a relationship, I'm connected to you. But in a partnership I'm building with you. That's different. In a relationship, people are often focused on themselves. Their wants. Their needs. Their feelings. But in a partnership people are focused on the goal. And nobody's trying to be bigger than the program. And in this season of my life, I'm less interested in titles and more interested in teamwork. Because a relationship can exist without effort. But a partnership cannot. Partnership requires participation. And that's the only kind of connection I'm interested in participating in.
