- 0:00Speaker 1: This podcast is recorded on gadigal Land Always was, always
- 0:03Speaker 1: will be Aboriginal Land Patix. I'm now and I'm su
- 0:13Speaker 1: and this is two broad Chicks, the show that shares
- 0:15Speaker 1: life lessons and tips to help make you rich in life.
- 0:18Speaker 1: And it's Spring, Baby, Spring has sprung. Thank God. I
- 0:23Speaker 1: know it's how sad winter is gone, but I am ready.
- 0:28Speaker 1: I feel like finally, I'm like my bones are creaking
- 0:30Speaker 1: out and be like. I love spring. Spring is probably
- 0:34Speaker 1: my favorite season. I love how it starts getting warmer.
- 0:39Speaker 1: I love the way it smells in the morning when
- 0:42Speaker 1: it's starting to become summertime, and it just starts feeling
- 0:46Speaker 1: a little bit lack cross mass.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Yeah, which that's the most exciting part to it.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Well, you know we're seeing advent calendar is already dropping.
- 0:54Speaker 1: I know, and you chicks love these episodes. We do
- 0:58Speaker 1: them at the start of every season and it's your
- 1:00Speaker 1: hot cheek Spring Checklist, where we're going to run through
- 1:04Speaker 1: all the vibes that will make you hotter, smarter, and
- 1:06Speaker 1: richer in spring. Not yet, though, because we have to
- 1:11Speaker 1: talk about our obsessions of the week. Yes, tell me
- 1:13Speaker 1: what is it? You're excited?
- 1:14Speaker 2: Okay, So my obsession of the week is something that
- 1:17Speaker 2: I'm obsessed with, not necessarily in a positive way, but
- 1:22Speaker 2: I'm fascinated, so I want to bring it to the show. Okay,
- 1:26Speaker 2: and it's that Louis Vauton has launched its very first
- 1:30Speaker 2: cosmetic line in the last week, with a lipstick starting
- 1:35Speaker 2: at two hundred and sixty five Australian dollars.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Yeah, let that sink in.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Right, So trying to find something nice to say.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Firstly, when I first saw these headlines come out in
- 1:49Speaker 2: the lead up to the launch, I was like, oh
- 1:52Speaker 2: my god, Louis Vuitton doesn't have a cosmetic line. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:56Speaker 2: I guess that's because I don't shop Louis Vauton.
- 1:59Speaker 3: It's out of my price right now.
- 2:02Speaker 1: You don't, I know, you just strike me as a
- 2:05Speaker 1: Louis Vaton girl.
- 2:08Speaker 3: People like no one says that, like, damn it, shit.
- 2:12Speaker 2: I was playing as Emma Chamberlain for a second, but
- 2:14Speaker 2: alas full no one. But yeah, So firstly, I was
- 2:17Speaker 2: surprised that they didn't already have a cosmetic line. It's
- 2:20Speaker 2: called La Butte and a launched.
- 2:21Speaker 3: I hate that. Hate that again.
- 2:24Speaker 2: I also probably am pronouncing that completely wrong. I'm sure
- 2:27Speaker 2: there's a really eloquent French pronunciation that I've completely butchered
- 2:32Speaker 2: polygy like. But the collaboration is a partnership with Pat McGrath,
- 2:36Speaker 2: which has apparently been in the works for years Kidney, Yeah, exactly.
- 2:42Speaker 2: So they've launched three products.
- 2:45Speaker 1: That's it. Yeah at the time, So.
- 2:50Speaker 2: I mean, this is why I'm fascinated and I will
- 2:53Speaker 2: be so interested to say, because a few you know,
- 2:56Speaker 2: beauty content creators and whatnot, got access to the products
- 2:58Speaker 2: before launched, so they were are a couple of reviews
- 3:00Speaker 2: coming in, but they were all sort of positive. So
- 3:03Speaker 2: it's a jeffree star. And then yeah, so now that
- 3:06Speaker 2: it's been released to the public, that's when I'll really
- 3:09Speaker 2: be tuning in to see what the reviews are.
- 3:11Speaker 1: We review this like we could buy one yet yeah,
- 3:14Speaker 1: I'm not. We're not going to buy more than one
- 3:16Speaker 1: because you know, but should we, chick, should we buy
- 3:20Speaker 1: this two hundred and sixty five lipstick and review it? Yeah?
- 3:23Speaker 1: Let us business.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Expense, that's our that's our that's our marketing budget for
- 3:27Speaker 2: the month.
- 3:27Speaker 3: It's a tax right off.
- 3:29Speaker 1: But anybody who's watched it's creek.
- 3:31Speaker 2: But the main point of difference apparently with this collaboration
- 3:35Speaker 2: and with this collection is that the products are designed
- 3:38Speaker 2: to be keepsakes, and they're all designed to be refilled,
- 3:44Speaker 2: which I don't for the price point you'd want them
- 3:47Speaker 2: to be.
- 3:47Speaker 1: So the packaging is a keepsake and you.
- 3:50Speaker 3: Can get it.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Just sounds so elitist to me.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Yeah, So let's run through the three main products that
- 3:55Speaker 2: we've got. We'll start with LV Rouge. This is two
- 3:59Speaker 2: hundred and sixty five dollars. The refills are one hundred
- 4:03Speaker 2: and fifteen dollars. There are fifty five shades, twenty seven
- 4:07Speaker 2: in a creamy satin formula, twenty eight in a velvet
- 4:10Speaker 2: matt can.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Fifty five shades for lipstick is too much.
- 4:13Speaker 3: It's a lot that's too much.
- 4:15Speaker 2: So while I am like, oh, they've only dropped three
- 4:18Speaker 2: new products, there are a lot of shade variations. But
- 4:21Speaker 2: again I feel like maybe you could have reduced the
- 4:24Speaker 2: number of shades and then maybe brought out like a foundation.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Anyway, fifty five shades in a foundation slag. We'd love
- 4:30Speaker 1: that in like complexion products, love that amazing in a lipstick.
- 4:34Speaker 1: I don't know if you need that many, Yeah, I agree.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Next product is the lv bomb, which is more of
- 4:40Speaker 2: a balm b A bomb to b a U m E.
- 4:45Speaker 3: I would say, be bomb bom bomb. It's probably French.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Literally too our last two brain cells trying to pronounce
- 4:54Speaker 1: a designer brand is so on brand.
- 4:57Speaker 2: For Yeah, there's ten sheer shade and it's the same price.
- 5:01Speaker 2: What two two hundred and sixty five dollars, yeah, and
- 5:05Speaker 2: one hundred and fifteen for the refilm.
- 5:07Speaker 1: I'm sorry, Yeah, they usually call the police. This is
- 5:10Speaker 1: daylight robbery. Yeah.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Then we've got the lv Ombre, which is four hundred
- 5:15Speaker 2: and twenty dollars. So this is an eyeshadow palette and
- 5:20Speaker 2: each yeah, each eye shadow palette has four different colors,
- 5:24Speaker 2: and there's eight different palettes available. We obviously haven't tried them. Again,
- 5:30Speaker 2: if you chicks want us.
- 5:31Speaker 3: To review it, it was four hundred and twenty what
- 5:34Speaker 3: the fuck?
- 5:35Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, sorry, so that's anyway.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Yeah, so we obviously haven't tried them, chicks.
- 5:41Speaker 2: If you want us to review it, we will because
- 5:43Speaker 2: obviously there's.
- 5:44Speaker 1: One product, pick one.
- 5:46Speaker 2: I would say, one of the lipstick is lipstick, okay, yeah,
- 5:50Speaker 2: I feel like will be the easiest review and there's
- 5:52Speaker 2: no way that we would ever buy this ordinarily and again,
- 5:56Speaker 2: so we haven't tried them yet, we can't speak to
- 5:58Speaker 2: the quality of the versus the value. But two hundred
- 6:02Speaker 2: and sixty five dollars is a lot of money to
- 6:04Speaker 2: spend on a lipstick, even if it is the most
- 6:06Speaker 2: beautiful lipstick in the entire world, especially when you do
- 6:10Speaker 2: compare them to Pat McGrath lab products. How much is
- 6:14Speaker 2: a lipstick from Pat McGrath product, so they typically range
- 6:17Speaker 2: from fifty four to seventy dollars in Australia. Crazy, so
- 6:20Speaker 2: you literally are just paying for the brand and for
- 6:23Speaker 2: the packaging, for the coops.
- 6:25Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a lipstick.
- 6:27Speaker 2: But even when you compare this to other luxury brands,
- 6:30Speaker 2: so for example, the Rouge Dior long Wear lipstick retails
- 6:34Speaker 2: for seventy two dollars and the refills are fifty seven.
- 6:38Speaker 2: So with that being said, very interested to see the reviews.
- 6:42Speaker 3: Roll in again. If you want us to try it,
- 6:44Speaker 3: we will try one.
- 6:45Speaker 1: We will try one. Let you know, pickos, Holy shit,
- 6:50Speaker 1: if you bought two lipsticks that would be over five
- 6:53Speaker 1: hundred dollars quick mass, I know it's going to be
- 6:55Speaker 1: too impressed. That's crazy. So my obsession is a new
- 6:59Speaker 1: chart has revealed the most common and rarest birthdays.
- 7:03Speaker 3: Oh my god, I saw this but did not look
- 7:05Speaker 3: into it.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Okay, so I have the child for the most common
- 7:10Speaker 1: and rarest birthdays. So the most common birthday is actually
- 7:14Speaker 1: the seventeenth of September.
- 7:16Speaker 3: Oh that surprises me.
- 7:19Speaker 2: I feel like I personally don't know that many people
- 7:21Speaker 2: with birthdays in September.
- 7:22Speaker 1: But there you go. What do you think the rarest
- 7:25Speaker 1: is December twenty fifth. You're gonna feel so silly when
- 7:29Speaker 1: I say February twenty ninth.
- 7:31Speaker 3: There we go.
- 7:32Speaker 1: So the rarest birthday is the twenty ninth of February,
- 7:36Speaker 1: which makes sense because it's a leapy birthday.
- 7:39Speaker 3: Yeah one, we know someone who's born on a leap
- 7:42Speaker 3: year birthday.
- 7:44Speaker 1: However, the second rarest birthday is the twenty fifth of December. Oh,
- 7:49Speaker 1: there you go. So do you know want to know
- 7:53Speaker 1: where we see it?
- 7:54Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 7:54Speaker 1: Okay, So my birthday is the nineteenth of April, and
- 8:00Speaker 1: in its score of rarity is two hundred and fifty three,
- 8:06Speaker 1: so one being the most common and three hundred and
- 8:08Speaker 1: sixty six being the rarest. I'm two fifty three, so
- 8:12Speaker 1: I'm feeling pretty special. Yeah, unique, which is it kind
- 8:15Speaker 1: of checks out because I don't think I've ever met
- 8:17Speaker 1: anyone with the same birthday as mem The only person
- 8:21Speaker 1: I know is Kate Hudson, and we've never met. We
- 8:23Speaker 1: should though. Yeah, we get along really good.
- 8:25Speaker 3: Definitely, I have a.
- 8:25Speaker 1: Big crush on her. But your birthday, the nineteenth of March.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Fun fact, we're exactly one month apart and we're both
- 8:31Speaker 1: born on a Friday, is the thirteenth most common.
- 8:36Speaker 3: Well, oh my god, I've got so many twins out there.
- 8:41Speaker 2: There's got to be a parent trap situation somewhere my
- 8:44Speaker 2: long lost twin.
- 8:45Speaker 1: The difference of three days makes all the difference. For example,
- 8:48Speaker 1: my birthday is two hundred and fifty three, which makes
- 8:50Speaker 1: it one of the most rare. However, the sixteenth of
- 8:53Speaker 1: April is the ninth most common. Wow, I know, so
- 8:57Speaker 1: literally the span of three days changes it.
- 9:01Speaker 3: Wow? Wait has it?
- 9:04Speaker 1: Rn? But yeah, we will post a link to it
- 9:07Speaker 1: in the show notes so that you guys can also
- 9:09Speaker 1: have a little sticky beak to see where your birthday sits. Yeah,
- 9:12Speaker 1: it's just I always love shit like that. Me too.
- 9:14Speaker 3: It's just fun.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Okay, Shall we get into our spring refresh and hot
- 9:19Speaker 1: Chick check list list. Let's go. So, why does spring
- 9:28Speaker 1: hit so fucking hard? Why does it hit for you?
- 9:33Speaker 2: Like I've discussed on the show, I am more of
- 9:35Speaker 2: a winter girly personally, but I do love spring, and
- 9:39Speaker 2: I think it is the thought of Christmas coming near,
- 9:43Speaker 2: sort of like the middle of the year. Even though
- 9:45Speaker 2: I love the weather, it's that midyear slump, and you know,
- 9:49Speaker 2: usually you've got a lot going on where spring feels
- 9:52Speaker 2: like new opportunities, fun things are coming up. There's always
- 9:55Speaker 2: like exciting things in the calendar. So I think it's
- 9:58Speaker 2: that like that end of year highs, like last day
- 10:02Speaker 2: of term vibes.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Oh yeah. I think the thing with spring as well
- 10:06Speaker 1: is that the year feels really quick. By the time
- 10:09Speaker 1: we get to spring, we're like, oh, what do you
- 10:11Speaker 1: mean springs here? What do you mean? Like we're already
- 10:14Speaker 1: three quarters of the way through the year. And I
- 10:16Speaker 1: think the reason why spring hits so hard is because
- 10:20Speaker 1: we're very rarely urged to like slow down and take
- 10:24Speaker 1: stock right, and we're urged to buy more, upgrade faster,
- 10:31Speaker 1: and keep up with the next big thing. Whereas spring,
- 10:34Speaker 1: the call to do a spring clean feels like a
- 10:36Speaker 1: little bit of a rebellion against that notion of quick,
- 10:40Speaker 1: quick more more. And it invites us to take stock
- 10:44Speaker 1: of what we already own and uncover and rediscover, you know,
- 10:49Speaker 1: our favorite things that are already within our home or
- 10:51Speaker 1: our life and things like that. And this instinct to
- 10:55Speaker 1: refresh our surroundings with the change of seasons isn't actually
- 10:58Speaker 1: a modern quirk, so it's woven into history long before,
- 11:03Speaker 1: like Instagram feeds or those like stock motion videos of
- 11:07Speaker 1: people cleaning their houses, which again, how long do those
- 11:10Speaker 1: take to film? Honestly, I'm so impressed. I love them
- 11:13Speaker 1: Like now spring cleaning. If you look at it online
- 11:16Speaker 1: on Pinterest, it's pristine pantries and color coded closets. Whereas
- 11:21Speaker 1: spring cleaning was originally born out of necessity, so in
- 11:25Speaker 1: homes once heated by coal and wood, warmer weather finally
- 11:28Speaker 1: allowed families to throw open windows, air out musty rooms,
- 11:32Speaker 1: and scrub away months of accumulated soot and dust. I know,
- 11:37Speaker 1: I'm like witch ye, we get to clean out little
- 11:41Speaker 1: witchy cabins. A witchy cabin clean if you will. What's
- 11:45Speaker 1: remarkable is how that practical ritual has transformed into something
- 11:50Speaker 1: deeply restorative and somewhat symbolic in our lives and ourselves.
- 11:55Speaker 1: Clearing clutter, rediscovering forgotten belongings, and restoring order doesn't just
- 12:00Speaker 1: brighten our homes, but it lightens our mood in our minds,
- 12:03Speaker 1: like the dopamine we hit from maybe moving around the
- 12:07Speaker 1: furniture in your apartment or finding fifty dollars in a
- 12:10Speaker 1: pocket of jeans that you literally forgot about. All those
- 12:14Speaker 1: meetings where people are like wearing one cowboy brood and
- 12:16Speaker 1: a mask from like doing a declatter and they're like, hey.
- 12:20Speaker 2: Yeah, and like reading the most beautiful birthday card their
- 12:22Speaker 2: best friend wrote five years.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Ago and going, yeah, I should hold onto that every time.
- 12:27Speaker 1: You should hold onto those birthday cards. The active cleaning
- 12:30Speaker 1: becomes symbolic with a spring refresh, and it's a way
- 12:33Speaker 1: to reset, to create space for new beginnings and to
- 12:36Speaker 1: align ourselves with Spring's timeless promise of renewal. And I
- 12:40Speaker 1: think that perfectly encapsure is why, like spring feels a
- 12:43Speaker 1: little bit magical. Yeah, like it it is kind of
- 12:46Speaker 1: it feels like a rebirth. Yeah, I go through like
- 12:48Speaker 1: I'm like, okay, mental rebrand. It's spring.
- 12:51Speaker 2: It doesn't have the same pressure as well. As like
- 12:54Speaker 2: the New year refresh, but it has a little bit of.
- 12:57Speaker 1: That sparkle to it doesn't.
- 12:58Speaker 2: Exactly yea, yeah, it has a bit of that motivation,
- 13:01Speaker 2: but it feels more whimsical, which is more motivating for me,
- 13:05Speaker 2: I think, yeah.
- 13:05Speaker 1: And I think if you have that want to start
- 13:09Speaker 1: something new, or clear something out, or just have a
- 13:13Speaker 1: little bit of a reset, rebrand or renewal, spring is
- 13:16Speaker 1: the perfect time to do that.
- 13:18Speaker 3: Definitely.
- 13:18Speaker 1: So should we jump into our checklist? Yes, all right,
- 13:22Speaker 1: take me through fashion.
- 13:25Speaker 2: Of course, Spring is such a fun time to play
- 13:28Speaker 2: with fashion.
- 13:29Speaker 1: Florals for spring groroundbreaking.
- 13:32Speaker 2: But as always, just because something is trending doesn't mean
- 13:35Speaker 2: you have to buy it or wear it. We just
- 13:37Speaker 2: want to report on some of the fun things that
- 13:39Speaker 2: we've seen come through ahead of spring and hopefully give
- 13:43Speaker 2: you some inspiration of how you can restyle some existing.
- 13:46Speaker 3: Pieces that you already have or thrift, or.
- 13:49Speaker 2: If you are looking to invest in some new pieces.
- 13:51Speaker 2: Let's have fun with fashion. And I do think that
- 13:53Speaker 2: spring is an incredible time to do this because you
- 13:56Speaker 2: don't have to be bundled up in layers, and you
- 13:59Speaker 2: can play with color and all of those things. So
- 14:01Speaker 2: we did also recently see Copenhagen Fashion Week come through.
- 14:06Speaker 2: And I know there are a lot of fashion weeks
- 14:09Speaker 2: that happen every year, but I do think that Copenhagen
- 14:12Speaker 2: Fashion Week is the coolest.
- 14:14Speaker 1: I one hundred percent agree.
- 14:16Speaker 2: Yeah, And that's where we see the coolest street style,
- 14:19Speaker 2: especially so even if I'm not going to be subscribing
- 14:23Speaker 2: to all of these trends, I love even just watching
- 14:27Speaker 2: and seeing how people style their pieces. So let's get
- 14:30Speaker 2: into some of the biggest fashion trends that we saw
- 14:32Speaker 2: coming out of Copenhagen Fashion Week.
- 14:35Speaker 3: Number one, stripes.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Yeah, polka dots had a huge moment in the last year.
- 14:42Speaker 2: They've probably been they've been a huge trend in the
- 14:45Speaker 2: last year. But spring and Summer twenty twenty six is
- 14:49Speaker 2: apparently all about stripes.
- 14:50Speaker 1: So polka dots are out and stripes are in, I believe.
- 14:53Speaker 2: So yeah, I do think that we'll still continue to
- 14:57Speaker 2: see polka dots, though I don't think people are going
- 14:59Speaker 2: to completely stop polka dots. And you know what I
- 15:01Speaker 2: actually love is when people clash a print, and I
- 15:05Speaker 2: do think that polka dots and stripes can look really
- 15:07Speaker 2: cute and quirky together.
- 15:09Speaker 3: So don't throw away all of your Poka dot things.
- 15:12Speaker 2: But I do think that we'll be seeing stripes come
- 15:14Speaker 2: through a lot in spring and summer, which we've already
- 15:16Speaker 2: seen with the rugby shirt trend.
- 15:19Speaker 3: I don't think that's going anywhere.
- 15:21Speaker 1: We're already seeing it on you know, consumer fashion websites
- 15:25Speaker 1: like Glassons and Target.
- 15:27Speaker 3: The fast fashion is fast fashioning, that's for sure.
- 15:30Speaker 1: Can we play special pass with this?
- 15:32Speaker 3: Yeah, so stripes smash pass? Really, I see.
- 15:37Speaker 1: I'm not super into like nautical vibes, yep, So I
- 15:41Speaker 1: think it like it leans a little bit too close
- 15:43Speaker 1: to that. But I'm interested to see how it's modernized.
- 15:46Speaker 1: But I know we're erring more towards like a nautical
- 15:49Speaker 1: theme and fashion, and I think stripes are too close
- 15:51Speaker 1: to that for me. Yeah, that's so fair, and I
- 15:54Speaker 1: just would I know, I wouldn't reach for it.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Okay, Next one, lace. So lace was featured a lot
- 16:00Speaker 2: across a bunch of the different runways and in a
- 16:03Speaker 2: few different ways, so including on the edge of track, shorts,
- 16:07Speaker 2: by the garment or hemlines and seams on dresses, so
- 16:12Speaker 2: in a more like traditional romantic way. But then we're
- 16:15Speaker 2: also seeing them paired with more sport and masculine pieces,
- 16:19Speaker 2: which I feel like is so cool. And if you're
- 16:22Speaker 2: into DIY or customizing your own clothes, that's also something
- 16:26Speaker 2: you could so easily do, Like go buy some lace
- 16:29Speaker 2: tram from spotlight or from a secondhand shop, and you
- 16:32Speaker 2: could easily customize a T shirt or a pair of
- 16:35Speaker 2: shorts or a skirt and add a little lace trim.
- 16:38Speaker 2: I think it's so cute. I always love lace anytime
- 16:41Speaker 2: of year. Are you a smasher A pass?
- 16:43Speaker 1: I'm a full blown smasher rooney, Yeah, I love lace.
- 16:47Speaker 1: I love it as like an accent, like if you
- 16:50Speaker 1: wear like a belled sleeve lace top and like this
- 16:53Speaker 1: lace peeks out under a jacket or just every all
- 16:58Speaker 1: of it.
- 16:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:59Speaker 1: It.
- 17:00Speaker 2: As much as I do tend to lean towards more
- 17:02Speaker 2: masculine fashion, I think I do love a touch of
- 17:06Speaker 2: lace because it adds like an element of like romance
- 17:10Speaker 2: and the feminine.
- 17:12Speaker 1: See that's quiet like blending masculine and feminine together. Like
- 17:16Speaker 1: I like something that's sexy but a little bit masculine,
- 17:18Speaker 1: and I feel like lace is like the feminine sexy Yeah,
- 17:22Speaker 1: as garnish scarves.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Yeah, so this is a big one. We've seen the
- 17:29Speaker 2: likes of Belahadide, Zoe Kravitz, Dove Cameron, what type of scarf?
- 17:33Speaker 2: So we've seen these girlies, girlies rocking them in their hair,
- 17:37Speaker 2: which we did see through Eurosummer, you know, by a
- 17:41Speaker 2: lot of the girlies who went to Europe this year,
- 17:43Speaker 2: which is very cute, but a viral trend that was
- 17:47Speaker 2: amongst straight style and also on the runway was wearing
- 17:52Speaker 2: scarves around your waist, which I feel like is like a.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Belt kind of yeah.
- 17:58Speaker 2: Yeah, so like a silk or at and scarf that
- 18:00Speaker 2: you tie around your waist over a skirt or over
- 18:03Speaker 2: a pair of jeans, or over a pair of denim.
- 18:05Speaker 3: Shorts, and it actually looks really cool.
- 18:09Speaker 2: And I do think that that is another way to
- 18:11Speaker 2: if you have been wearing scarves in your hair, or
- 18:13Speaker 2: you have an old scarf that used to wear around
- 18:15Speaker 2: your neck when that was a really big trend, you
- 18:17Speaker 2: can reuse and revive that piece and wear it tied
- 18:20Speaker 2: around your waist. And I do think it's also another
- 18:22Speaker 2: really cute way to reinvent an outfit or if you
- 18:26Speaker 2: feel like you're just wearing like a pair of jaorts
- 18:27Speaker 2: and a t shirt, and you're like, oh, what can
- 18:30Speaker 2: I do to maybe add something extra? Like tying a
- 18:32Speaker 2: scarf around your waist is a really cute way to
- 18:34Speaker 2: do that at a pop of color.
- 18:36Speaker 1: It's also so easy to find scarfs secondhand.
- 18:40Speaker 2: Yeah, but they always have like a little tub. Yeah,
- 18:43Speaker 2: and it's like three for five. But smash your pass scups.
- 18:47Speaker 1: See, I think they look really cute. I think they
- 18:51Speaker 1: look really fun and exactly what you said, They're a
- 18:54Speaker 1: great way to flare up an outfit. But I think
- 18:57Speaker 1: for me pass because I'm not sure if I would
- 19:01Speaker 1: consistently reach for it. Yeah. I know, like I'm such
- 19:05Speaker 1: a the way things feel person, and when I have
- 19:08Speaker 1: tried to like wear scarves in my hair, how slippery
- 19:12Speaker 1: they are really pushes me off that like it little
- 19:16Speaker 1: things like that frustrate me, Like if it like slips
- 19:19Speaker 1: around my head, I'm like, no, I hate light touches
- 19:22Speaker 1: in terms of like if someone's like tickling me, I'm
- 19:24Speaker 1: like get off, or like anything like that.
- 19:26Speaker 3: That.
- 19:27Speaker 1: I think that's where I probably would give it a pass,
- 19:31Speaker 1: just because I don't know if I would reach for
- 19:34Speaker 1: it consistently. About you, smash on pass.
- 19:37Speaker 2: I think a smash but I'm not sure if I
- 19:40Speaker 2: would be wearing it around my waist, probably because I
- 19:43Speaker 2: typically wear things a little bit more high waisted, and
- 19:46Speaker 2: this has been styled with like more of a low waist,
- 19:48Speaker 2: So I'm not sure i'd have to try it. But
- 19:50Speaker 2: I have so many like fun vintage scarves at home.
- 19:53Speaker 1: You like wearing them around your neck?
- 19:55Speaker 2: Yeah, or more of a like a band downer sort
- 19:57Speaker 2: of vibe rather than like the way that you or
- 20:00Speaker 2: summer girlies have been wearing it. Next trend butter cream.
- 20:03Speaker 2: So this is a lighter, creamier version of butter yellow.
- 20:07Speaker 2: Just called it cream, Yeah, but it's more of a yellow,
- 20:10Speaker 2: whereas cream is more of a why not you?
- 20:12Speaker 1: It sits in between that.
- 20:14Speaker 3: Yeah, Like the obsession with food continues.
- 20:17Speaker 1: Big cream and it's just a different shed. Like there's
- 20:21Speaker 1: just different shades of cream.
- 20:23Speaker 3: I guess you could say, is it cherry red or
- 20:25Speaker 3: is it red?
- 20:26Speaker 1: It's all It's all just words at the end of
- 20:29Speaker 1: the day, the food marketing tactic of things.
- 20:31Speaker 2: Fully, Yeah, butter cream, lighter, creamier shade of like the
- 20:35Speaker 2: butter yellow trend that we've seen. For me, this one
- 20:38Speaker 2: is a past Personally, I'm just not a big fan
- 20:40Speaker 2: of yellow on myself.
- 20:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I just smash for me because I like cream
- 20:45Speaker 1: yea on my complexion. When I like did my like
- 20:49Speaker 1: color analysis, it was like, yeah, I like cream. Yeah cute.
- 20:53Speaker 2: Okay, next one y two K layering, which I do
- 20:56Speaker 2: think is really fun going into like a trance an
- 21:00Speaker 2: all moment. On the runways, we did see a lot
- 21:02Speaker 2: of T shirts layered with long sleeves underneath, which is
- 21:06Speaker 2: giving like Hannah Montana Ashley.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Tisdale the vibes that we grew up with just say
- 21:11Speaker 1: smash already smash. I love it.
- 21:14Speaker 2: I think it's, yeah, such an easy way to when
- 21:17Speaker 2: you're like going from like the cold to the warmer
- 21:19Speaker 2: months to ease in.
- 21:20Speaker 1: I like layering. I don't know how I would do it,
- 21:25Speaker 1: but maybe that maybe that means it's a pass. If
- 21:28Speaker 1: I can't envision it now, then maybe.
- 21:32Speaker 3: It's a pass for me. Yeah.
- 21:33Speaker 2: I love like a baggy T shirt with like a
- 21:35Speaker 2: white Henley underneath, like a cute vibe with jeans I
- 21:39Speaker 2: feel okay, and last but not laced exposed bikinis and
- 21:44Speaker 2: bikinis as fashion be on the beach pass. Personally, it's
- 21:49Speaker 2: a pass. I probably wouldn't wear I.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Would, So what wearing bikinis if you're not going to
- 21:55Speaker 1: the beach. Yeah, that's literally thrush waiting to happen.
- 21:58Speaker 3: Like bikini top, yes, I mean okay, yeah, like.
- 22:02Speaker 2: You're probably not because if then you'd just be walking
- 22:04Speaker 2: around in undies essentially.
- 22:06Speaker 3: But yeah, so like a bikini top.
- 22:07Speaker 2: So I think like Gwen Stefani in the two thousands,
- 22:10Speaker 2: like how she would be wearing like a pair of
- 22:12Speaker 2: cargo pants with a bikini top. So like the VMA's
- 22:16Speaker 2: kind of thing. So instead of wearing like a bralette,
- 22:19Speaker 2: you'd wear a triangle bikini.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Right. See. I literally find so much joy in the
- 22:27Speaker 1: process of removing my bikini post beach. I hate the
- 22:32Speaker 1: feeling of wearing a bikini. So yeah, I'm going to
- 22:34Speaker 1: give a pass. But I just know everyone's going to
- 22:37Speaker 1: look so cute in it.
- 22:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 22:38Speaker 2: I think it's a really cute look. I love the throwback,
- 22:41Speaker 2: the nostalgia of it all. But I wouldn't be doing
- 22:43Speaker 2: it personally.
- 22:44Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, I do actually have an addition to our
- 22:48Speaker 1: fashion trends, and I think we're going to be seeing
- 22:51Speaker 1: a very swifty spring. Oh so, since the announcement of
- 22:57Speaker 1: Life of a Showgirl. The shade Taylor Swift orange has
- 23:02Speaker 1: gone up by five hundred and fifty percent.
- 23:05Speaker 3: Wild.
- 23:06Speaker 1: If you told me that orange was going to be
- 23:08Speaker 1: the trending color for spring and summer, I would have
- 23:12Speaker 1: groaned very loudly. Yeah, it's probably my It's up there
- 23:16Speaker 1: with one of my most hated colors.
- 23:18Speaker 2: It looks beautiful on some people. It is a very warm,
- 23:21Speaker 2: nice shade for spring and summer. It's like that really
- 23:25Speaker 2: vibrant tangerine orange. If you're unfamiliar with the particular orange and.
- 23:30Speaker 1: Royal purple are just my Yeah, I don't like them. Yeah,
- 23:34Speaker 1: it's not for me personal. But on top of this,
- 23:36Speaker 1: what I think is a little bit more fun, Why
- 23:38Speaker 1: am I losing my voice? On top of this that
- 23:40Speaker 1: I think is a little bit more fun, one that
- 23:43Speaker 1: I'm subscribing to more is Showgirl season.
- 23:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:48Speaker 1: I think the Showgirl element of this album is meaning
- 23:52Speaker 1: that the Showgirl aesthetic is going to kind of trickle
- 23:54Speaker 1: down into fashion. So like sequin dresses, sequin shoes, feathers, fur,
- 24:00Speaker 1: mini skirts, like mini everything when in the skirts, and
- 24:03Speaker 1: just like sexiness.
- 24:04Speaker 3: Beads and fringe and fish nets.
- 24:07Speaker 1: Yes, love that.
- 24:08Speaker 2: I feel like that would be so fun for like
- 24:10Speaker 2: your Christmas parties and New Years. I know we're getting
- 24:14Speaker 2: a little bit into summer, but I'm just imagining some
- 24:16Speaker 2: of those like fun events where it's like good excuse
- 24:18Speaker 2: to wear sequence.
- 24:19Speaker 1: There's always an excuse to it, ye.
- 24:21Speaker 3: Going to the shops, licking up milk.
- 24:23Speaker 1: Moving into my favorite beauty trend that I've been seeing
- 24:26Speaker 1: everywhere for spring is red and burgundy eyeliner.
- 24:31Speaker 3: Love that I am obsessed.
- 24:33Speaker 1: I don't know if it's the Vampire Diaries in me.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Riley Hempsen recently posted a photo featuring like this deep
- 24:42Speaker 1: burgundy like blood red eyeliner and shadow, and then there
- 24:46Speaker 1: was also a viral TikTok of a girl that had
- 24:48Speaker 1: a very similar look burgundy liner, red eyeshadow and it
- 24:52Speaker 1: was just ten out of ten. And I think as well,
- 24:55Speaker 1: in the past we've probably erred away from warm tones
- 24:59Speaker 1: like red. Is we don't want it to look like
- 25:01Speaker 1: pink eye.
- 25:02Speaker 2: Yeah right, you'll give like vampire like infection.
- 25:06Speaker 1: But I think with it being this beautiful deep red,
- 25:10Speaker 1: it just looks so cool and sexy and I can't
- 25:12Speaker 1: wait to play around with it.
- 25:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I love colored eyeliners and eyeshadows.
- 25:17Speaker 1: They're so fun to play with. But to wrap up
- 25:20Speaker 1: our fashion and beauty segment of this episode, I wanted
- 25:23Speaker 1: to run through the sale events that we have from
- 25:26Speaker 1: now until the end of the year, because as always,
- 25:30Speaker 1: our ethos is never paid full price essentially.
- 25:34Speaker 3: So here's every.
- 25:35Speaker 1: Single sale event from now until the end of the year.
- 25:37Speaker 1: Number one, we have Singles Day on the eleventh of November.
- 25:41Speaker 1: Then Click Frenzy, the main event will be in November.
- 25:44Speaker 1: We don't have the exact date yet, but I reckon
- 25:46Speaker 1: it'll be mid to early November. Then Black Friday we
- 25:51Speaker 1: have on the twenty eighth of November. This is like
- 25:54Speaker 1: your big Kahuna sale event. This is the biggest sale
- 25:56Speaker 1: event of the year. This is when you do like
- 25:58Speaker 1: your Christmas shopping and get all like juicy stuff in there.
- 26:01Speaker 1: Then Cyber Monday is on the first of the December,
- 26:03Speaker 1: followed by Travel Tuesday on the second of December, and
- 26:08Speaker 1: then Boxing Day on the twenty sixth of December. So
- 26:12Speaker 1: put those in your calendar and get that in there.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Yeah, mark the cows, and as always will be dropping
- 26:18Speaker 2: our viral cheat sheet where we have all the best
- 26:21Speaker 2: sales that you can shop in one place.
- 26:24Speaker 1: The og all right, what is next on your Hot
- 26:27Speaker 1: Chicks spring checklist?
- 26:28Speaker 3: Taking advantage of Daylight Savings? Yeses So.
- 26:34Speaker 2: Daylight Savings officially starts on the fifth of October in
- 26:38Speaker 2: twenty twenty five. Mark your calendars. Probably the best day
- 26:42Speaker 2: of the entire year.
- 26:44Speaker 1: What day day is it?
- 26:46Speaker 3: It's a Sunday. Yeah, that hits. That hits. Yeah, that's
- 26:51Speaker 3: very exciting.
- 26:52Speaker 2: Longer daylight hours is easily one of the most exciting
- 26:56Speaker 2: things about spring and summer. And I also think it's
- 26:59Speaker 2: the thing that we miss the most in the cooler months.
- 27:04Speaker 1: There's nothing more depressing than leaving work in its stark outside. Yeah,
- 27:08Speaker 1: because you just feel like, well, might as well go
- 27:10Speaker 1: to bed now.
- 27:10Speaker 2: Yeah, like point, But because time moves so quickly, I
- 27:14Speaker 2: also feel like by the time it ends, I'm like
- 27:17Speaker 2: where to go? And I always feel like I haven't
- 27:20Speaker 2: taken advantage of it enough.
- 27:22Speaker 1: Do you remember that time on the show when I
- 27:24Speaker 1: was like, it's so fucked that winters like nine months
- 27:27Speaker 1: and Daylight Savings is only three And You're like, Alex,
- 27:31Speaker 1: they're both six months, and I was like, no, they're not,
- 27:33Speaker 1: and You're like, yes, it is, And I was like,
- 27:35Speaker 1: that doesn't check out. Like in my brain, daylight savings
- 27:38Speaker 1: obviously go so quickly it feels like three months and
- 27:41Speaker 1: then it's like winter for the entire year.
- 27:42Speaker 3: But that's just seasonal depression, baby yeah.
- 27:45Speaker 2: I mean I think a lot of people feel that way.
- 27:47Speaker 2: It feels like it fucking drags on, fucking drag. But
- 27:51Speaker 2: I reckon, let's make a pact, a pinky sweat, yeah,
- 27:55Speaker 2: a pinky swear between us and the chicks to take
- 27:58Speaker 2: advantage of daylight saving this year. So here's some easy
- 28:03Speaker 2: and mostly affordable ways to take advantage of daylight savings
- 28:06Speaker 2: this year. Number one, eat dinner outside. Oh yeah, like
- 28:11Speaker 2: if you have a backyard or a balcony. And also
- 28:14Speaker 2: there are no rules against cooking your dinner, putting it
- 28:18Speaker 2: in a container and then going on a quick walk
- 28:20Speaker 2: and taking it to a nearby park or lookout or
- 28:23Speaker 2: beach and having a little outdoor picnic in the evening,
- 28:27Speaker 2: Like so cute, such.
- 28:29Speaker 3: A nice way to end the day.
- 28:32Speaker 2: And I love eating dinner outdoors, Like it's just such
- 28:35Speaker 2: a nice, yeah, nice way to wrap up the day
- 28:37Speaker 2: and actually take advantage of the nice weather and the
- 28:39Speaker 2: sun and maybe you'll see a beautiful sunset as well.
- 28:42Speaker 2: I know Roman Dick go to a night market. We
- 28:45Speaker 2: have so many of these. Were in Sydney. Yeah, so
- 28:49Speaker 2: you can find like night markets or twilight markets or
- 28:53Speaker 2: food trucks in Sydney, in Darlinghurst, the Rocks and Barangaroo.
- 28:57Speaker 2: But just google your local area and they always have
- 29:01Speaker 2: like different night markets and events popping up and it's
- 29:04Speaker 2: a great way to support local business, try some new cuisines.
- 29:07Speaker 2: And it's also just fun, Like who doesn't love a
- 29:10Speaker 2: fucking market. Another one, I love outdoor cinemas.
- 29:13Speaker 1: Oh my god, yes, yes, especially when they're playing Christmas movie,
- 29:17Speaker 1: Oh my God, or like a two thousands from Come. Yes,
- 29:21Speaker 1: it's the perfect time.
- 29:23Speaker 2: And in Australia they only really do these in spring
- 29:27Speaker 2: and in summer. Again in Sydney we have so many
- 29:30Speaker 2: different options. There's the open air cinema, the move in
- 29:32Speaker 2: bed beach Cinema, the Moonlight cinema. Just google your local
- 29:36Speaker 2: area outdoor cinema and I guarantee there will be something.
- 29:39Speaker 2: If there isn't, buy a projector they put a sheet up. Yeah,
- 29:43Speaker 2: put a shet up in the backyard and make your own. Also,
- 29:46Speaker 2: speaking of outdoor activities, outdoor workouts and classes, Like I
- 29:51Speaker 2: always you like go for a walk or something in
- 29:54Speaker 2: the morning and you see people in the park, Like
- 29:56Speaker 2: there's one at my local park and I don't know
- 29:59Speaker 2: if it's like Pete or what the situation is, but
- 30:02Speaker 2: there's like a group of people in the.
- 30:04Speaker 1: Park doing their work. Yeah, just being like.
- 30:08Speaker 2: Exactly broke chicks hack stand to the bushes and one
- 30:11Speaker 2: from Afar. But I also think that that's like a
- 30:14Speaker 2: really cute activity that you can do with your friends
- 30:17Speaker 2: to start your day off right. Or going for like
- 30:20Speaker 2: your hot girl walks in the afternoon, because that is
- 30:22Speaker 2: something that I because I love to do my exercise
- 30:24Speaker 2: in the evenings, and that is something that I don't
- 30:27Speaker 2: like about winter, is that you can't really go for
- 30:29Speaker 2: your hot girl walks when it's because it gets dark
- 30:31Speaker 2: at four thirty pm and it's a good time to
- 30:34Speaker 2: catch up and gas bag and rant with your girlfriends.
- 30:38Speaker 1: That's a strong list.
- 30:40Speaker 2: And also if you live by a body of water,
- 30:43Speaker 2: afternoon swims that is the ultimate baptismal cleanse any day
- 30:48Speaker 2: and we need to take advantage of that more.
- 30:50Speaker 1: Okay, moving on to our final hot chick checklist for Spring.
- 30:55Speaker 1: For me, I think this spring on my hot chic
- 30:59Speaker 1: checklip is to lock the fuck in. So we've had winter,
- 31:06Speaker 1: we've gone on our everyone's gone on their little midyear holidays,
- 31:09Speaker 1: we've done our midyear resets. It's not quite summer yet.
- 31:13Speaker 1: You know, we've got to wrap up the year and
- 31:15Speaker 1: this is like basically the busiest time of year, you know, September, October, November,
- 31:21Speaker 1: that's busy. And for me, I'm like, let's lock in,
- 31:25Speaker 1: and like I'm actually really keen to lock in this
- 31:28Speaker 1: end of the year. We've got so many exciting things
- 31:30Speaker 1: coming up. Like one of them might rhyme with all
- 31:34Speaker 1: schmaive shmow if you will.
- 31:37Speaker 2: Yeah, a little easter egg. Pay attention to our socials tomorrow.
- 31:42Speaker 2: There may be an exciting little announcement coming away, but
- 31:45Speaker 2: it's all we'll say about that.
- 31:46Speaker 3: I'll say about that.
- 31:47Speaker 1: You know, we've got the rich in life planners in
- 31:49Speaker 1: the works in potentially the best iteration that we've done
- 31:53Speaker 1: in those looking. So we've got sale events, we've got Christmas,
- 31:56Speaker 1: and it's such a busy time of year that like,
- 31:58Speaker 1: rather than dreading it, I'm like, let's lock the fuck in.
- 32:00Speaker 1: Like I'm really excited to kind of like dive in
- 32:03Speaker 1: and get into it. Yeah, and in that I found
- 32:06Speaker 1: an app to help you lock in for spring.
- 32:08Speaker 3: Ooh hit me.
- 32:09Speaker 1: I am obsessed with this. It's called the Focus Friend. Oh.
- 32:14Speaker 1: It is basically a tamagotchi that helps you lock in.
- 32:18Speaker 1: Oh my god. Right. So, Focus Friend is a cozy,
- 32:22Speaker 1: gamified focus timer created by online educator Hank Green. So
- 32:27Speaker 1: you get a little bean on this app. When you focus,
- 32:30Speaker 1: your bean friend will focus. So this is not an
- 32:34Speaker 1: innuendo for your.
- 32:35Speaker 3: Glitterist by the way.
- 32:39Speaker 1: So when you focus, your bean also completes its work
- 32:43Speaker 1: and then you get to buy decorations through its house.
- 32:46Speaker 3: Oh my god, you get to like buy.
- 32:48Speaker 1: New skins or clothes. I love like your little tamagotchi
- 32:52Speaker 1: Focus Friend. That's the ultimate motivation.
- 32:55Speaker 3: I don't want to let down my bean exactly.
- 32:57Speaker 1: And if you interrupt your bean by turning off the timer,
- 33:01Speaker 1: they'll be really really sad. Oh not. Yeah, So when
- 33:07Speaker 1: you complete your focus session, and this cute bean will
- 33:10Speaker 1: give you prizes to buy decorations to help furnish their room.
- 33:14Speaker 1: So it's perfect for anyone who struggles with long sessions
- 33:17Speaker 1: of concentration. So some of the features include live activity.
- 33:21Speaker 1: See your time of progress when your phone is locked,
- 33:23Speaker 1: so even if you try to pick up your phone,
- 33:25Speaker 1: you'll see the time and be like, no, my bean,
- 33:29Speaker 1: my bean needs to focus. Yeah. It has a deep
- 33:32Speaker 1: focus mode so you can lock distracting apps on your
- 33:36Speaker 1: phone for focused sessions. You can also have break timers
- 33:39Speaker 1: so you can decorate on your brakes use the pomedoro
- 33:42Speaker 1: method of productivity. There are hundreds of decorations to decorate
- 33:48Speaker 1: your room in different fun themes, and there's also different
- 33:50Speaker 1: bean skins to like dress up your bean to like
- 33:53Speaker 1: customize him.
- 33:54Speaker 3: I love this.
- 33:54Speaker 1: I'm obsessed, as I was like done.
- 33:58Speaker 3: Yeah, it's giving their pets.
- 34:02Speaker 1: Adult neopets, tamagotchi done, Yeah in a child. I love it. Yeah.
- 34:08Speaker 1: Is it free? So it's a free app. It does
- 34:10Speaker 1: offer paid options like customizations and premium features.
- 34:14Speaker 3: But yeah, I'm obsessed. Oh my god, you're I'm going
- 34:17Speaker 3: to download it, my bello.
- 34:19Speaker 1: Look look at this? Is it cute?
- 34:21Speaker 3: Meet your bean? Oh my god, it's so cute. It's
- 34:26Speaker 3: so cute. This is going to be like the ultimate
