In this podcast we explore one of the most sobering and challenging passages in the book of Acts: the story of Ananias and Sapphira (Acts 5:1–11). At first glance, it can seem like a story about money or judgment, but Luke's concern runs much deeper. By placing this account immediately after the joyful picture of generosity and unity at the end of Acts 4, he invites us to compare two very different hearts: Barnabas, who gave out of genuine surrender to God, and Ananias and Sapphira, who wanted the appearance of surrender without the reality of it.
