- 0:00Speaker 1: Damn it, Jim, I'm a doctor, not an exorcist.
- 0:02Speaker 2: It's one more thing. Oh my god, that's right, an
- 0:09Speaker 2: original Star Trek reference. Take it. You gotta sit there
- 0:14Speaker 2: and take it. Oh I love track Doctor Bones McCoy, Yeah,
- 0:20Speaker 2: that's right, Bones, the Great DeForest Kelly, Yes, yes, oh track.
- 0:27Speaker 1: So it was damn it, Jim, I'm a doctor, not
- 0:30Speaker 1: an exorcist.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Exorcist, that's correct. But first let me reminisce Gladys. There
- 0:35Speaker 2: was my undergraduate days in the Great Plains of Illinois.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Of a Sunday night when the studying was done, if
- 0:44Speaker 2: any studying was done at all, I would get together
- 0:47Speaker 2: with quite a few of the fellas in a friend
- 0:50Speaker 2: Mike's room, and we would get to quote the great
- 0:53Speaker 2: Bill Murray in a contemporary film of the time, Stone
- 0:56Speaker 2: to the Bejesus Belt, and watch the original Star t
- 1:00Speaker 2: I can just laugh at it. Oh my god, so
- 1:03Speaker 2: much fun. Anyway, I had to watch some track just
- 1:08Speaker 2: to bring them back to those those good times. Anyway.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Uh So, the point that television had its upsides, oh
- 1:14Speaker 1: one hundred percent. The everybody watches it whenever, or you
- 1:18Speaker 1: watch all the episodes at once or whatever. It's more convenient,
- 1:21Speaker 1: but it's it'll, like everything else in the modern world,
- 1:24Speaker 1: it lost its social cohesiveness.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Yeah. I used to rant back in the nineties as
- 1:32Speaker 2: my kids were grown up, and both my wife and
- 1:36Speaker 2: I just loved the Christmas specials, the Rudolph's Red Nose, Reindeer,
- 1:40Speaker 2: Santa Claus Coming to Town, all those and and then
- 1:43Speaker 2: they became available on videotape and you'd buy them or whatever,
- 1:47Speaker 2: and you can watch them anytime you want, or watch them,
- 1:49Speaker 2: you know, three times in a row on a June day,
- 1:52Speaker 2: And and I realized that we had lost a rhythm
- 1:58Speaker 2: of the seasons and the days and the various high
- 2:03Speaker 2: points that come in a year when everything's available all
- 2:06Speaker 2: the time. I understand the advantage of it. I'm not
- 2:10Speaker 2: sure we realized what we lost anyway. Yeah, appointment TV ah,
- 2:15Speaker 2: good stuff.
- 2:16Speaker 3: So J d.
- 2:17Speaker 2: Vant said this the Benny Show not terribly long ago,
- 2:23Speaker 2: and we were marked on it a little bit but
- 2:25Speaker 2: didn't talk about it much.
- 2:27Speaker 4: I'm obsessed with this. I've already had a couple of
- 2:30Speaker 4: space on Area fifty one. We're going out to New Mexico.
- 2:33Speaker 4: We're just sort of get to the bottom of this.
- 2:35Speaker 4: And then the timing of the trip just didn't work out.
- 2:37Speaker 4: But trust me, anybody who's curious about this, I'm more
- 2:40Speaker 4: curious than anybody, and I've got three years of the
- 2:44Speaker 4: very tippy top of the classification. I'm gonna get to
- 2:47Speaker 4: the bottom of it.
- 2:47Speaker 2: I don't think I don't think there are aliens. I
- 2:50Speaker 2: think they're demons anyway. But that's a longer discussion. WHOA.
- 2:53Speaker 1: So there's a guy who Yale Law School, Marbaro Law School,
- 2:59Speaker 1: one of those who says, I'm going to get to
- 3:02Speaker 1: the bottom of this about Area fifty one in aliens
- 3:05Speaker 1: with a straight face.
- 3:06Speaker 2: But they're not aliens, they're demons. But that's a longer discussion.
- 3:10Speaker 1: No, that makes it crazier, not less crazy, does it?
- 3:14Speaker 2: Does it well? I came across this story. I've heard
- 3:17Speaker 2: no coverage of it whatsoever. At the end of last week,
- 3:19Speaker 2: the Archbishop of Washington, d C. Removed a longtime archdiocesan exorcist,
- 3:28Speaker 2: saying his recent comments about UFOs being demons gravely undermined
- 3:33Speaker 2: church teachings. This month's Senior Stephen Rossetti, is a priest
- 3:37Speaker 2: and psychologist who's held prominent positions in the Archdiocese of
- 3:41Speaker 2: Washington d C. For decades. Absolutely a sort of guy,
- 3:47Speaker 2: the sort of guy who fairly recent Catholic convert JD.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Vance would get to know as the sitting VP.
- 3:56Speaker 1: So you went by something that maybe everybody knew but me,
- 4:02Speaker 1: that the Catholic Church has exorcists.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's not like in the movies, but yeah
- 4:09Speaker 2: it's four Let me, what do you do with them? Actually?
- 4:14Speaker 1: What does a position entail? How does it pay?
- 4:19Speaker 2: The benef Catholics frame struggling wrongdoing is the spiritual war
- 4:23Speaker 2: between good, evil and good. The center offers the center
- 4:26Speaker 2: that part of offers information about exorcisms, which are considered
- 4:30Speaker 2: sacramental rights. According to material posted on the archdiocesan website
- 4:35Speaker 2: oh BAH, citing Catholic teaching, the website defines exorcism as
- 4:40Speaker 2: quote when the Church asks publicly and authoritatively, in the
- 4:44Speaker 2: name of Jesus Christ, that a person or object be
- 4:46Speaker 2: protected against the power of the evil One and withdraw
- 4:49Speaker 2: from his dominion, out demon out anyway to the the
- 4:55Speaker 2: UFO thing. Though, so, this guy was had had important
- 5:01Speaker 2: positions in that diocese for years, listed as a Catholic
- 5:05Speaker 2: university professor, served as chaplain for the Washington nationals hey
- 5:09Speaker 2: baa baa hey bara and leads this St. Michael Center
- 5:14Speaker 2: for Spiritual Renewal, which does exorcist it anyway. So in
- 5:19Speaker 2: a statement last week, Cardinal Robert McElroy, the archbishop, said
- 5:23Speaker 2: that Rosetti was being removed as an exorcist and the
- 5:26Speaker 2: archdiocese was severing its connection to the Saint Michael Center.
- 5:30Speaker 2: McElroy said his statement statements Rosetti made about UFOs. Such statements,
- 5:34Speaker 2: the Cardinal said, gravely undermined the church's very precise teaching
- 5:37Speaker 2: on the devil, demons and exorcism the two days prior
- 5:42Speaker 2: to this, So this was like a The archbishop found
- 5:46Speaker 2: out and said he's fired. Immediately. He was on the
- 5:50Speaker 2: YouTube show This Rosetti Fellow Faith, Hope and Love Ministry
- 5:55Speaker 2: to talk about what the program characterized as aliens or demons,
- 6:01Speaker 2: and Rosetti said on the show, demons like to hide.
- 6:04Speaker 2: They don't want us to know what they're doing because
- 6:06Speaker 2: they're more effective when we don't realize it. Demons can
- 6:09Speaker 2: break into the physical world, take this shape of shadows
- 6:13Speaker 2: or possessed houses or ghosts that someone might contact via
- 6:17Speaker 2: a medium. All of that connects us with the dark world.
- 6:20Speaker 2: I'm sorry. All that connects us with the dark world
- 6:23Speaker 2: is a portal, and the Bible in the church warn
- 6:25Speaker 2: us against this. There's no question in my mind personally
- 6:27Speaker 2: that probably many, if not most, of these UFO sightings
- 6:30Speaker 2: are demons, and they do things we can't do. Thus
- 6:33Speaker 2: the speed of like the alleged crafts interesting.
- 6:39Speaker 1: I'm trying to think where I am on this sort
- 6:41Speaker 1: of thing. Do I believe evil exists? Yes? Who I
- 6:47Speaker 1: believe in demons? I've never thought about that before breaking
- 6:50Speaker 1: it down into demons. Do I think the demons do
- 6:54Speaker 1: things that are like measurable the way flying aircraft ftar
- 7:01Speaker 1: observable on radar? Right? Probably not? Yeah, but I haven't
- 7:09Speaker 1: spent a lot of time thinking about this.
- 7:11Speaker 2: Uh.
- 7:12Speaker 1: If jd Vance runs for president, he'll have to answer
- 7:15Speaker 1: for those comments and either say he was joking or something.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Right now, I don't think he was joking. I think
- 7:22Speaker 2: I don't think he was Rosetti.
- 7:24Speaker 1: I don't think he was either. But that's a pretty
- 7:26Speaker 1: out there religious belief, isn't it.
- 7:29Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 7:30Speaker 1: Among most people. Yeah, No, there aren't aliens. There are
- 7:34Speaker 1: demons flying around that we pick up on radar on
- 7:36Speaker 1: a regular basis. And that's why they can't. We can't
- 7:39Speaker 1: explain him their demons. That's that's a pretty out there thought.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Uh. Some people who I know and trust and care
- 7:47Speaker 2: about a great deal had friends who were enduring a
- 7:54Speaker 2: period of their lives where there was a great deal
- 7:57Speaker 2: of anger and bitterness and sickness in their relationship. And
- 8:02Speaker 2: in the account that was told to me many years ago,
- 8:05Speaker 2: these people invited a clergyman to their home at least
- 8:11Speaker 2: one and maybe other friends, and they prayed fervently that
- 8:15Speaker 2: whatever was going on would stop, and they reported unquestionably
- 8:22Speaker 2: what sounds like a supernatural phenomenon of loud whooshing and
- 8:27Speaker 2: loud noises, just like out of a movie. And when
- 8:32Speaker 2: that was over, the demon was gone from the relationship
- 8:35Speaker 2: and they were back to being themselves. Now, you can
- 8:37Speaker 2: interpret that anyway you want. I don't tell people how
- 8:40Speaker 2: to interpret God or evil or anything. It's on you.
- 8:43Speaker 1: But I do. I've got a like a ten point plan.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Let me tell you how to interpret God. No, So
- 8:50Speaker 1: was it multiple people reporting the same thing as opposed
- 8:52Speaker 1: to individual experiences.
- 8:55Speaker 2: I just got the account through the two people I knew. Two.
- 9:00Speaker 2: I can't remember if they were both there but they
- 9:02Speaker 2: were the sort of people who are not prone to nuttiness. Right, well,
- 9:06Speaker 2: my sincere belief.
- 9:08Speaker 1: For sure, it would be more extraordinary to me if
- 9:12Speaker 1: there were two people that experienced the same thing at
- 9:14Speaker 1: the same time, because I always wonder what the brain
- 9:16Speaker 1: is capable of, or are psyche or whatever. Because I've
- 9:19Speaker 1: told the story before about when the last day that
- 9:22Speaker 1: I almost drank, I'm coming up on twenty years of
- 9:27Speaker 1: sobriety as an alcoholic, and the last day that I
- 9:30Speaker 1: almost drank January seven, two thousand and seven, I had
- 9:35Speaker 1: walked into a bar and ordered a beer from a guy,
- 9:39Speaker 1: and I was watching myself from above like a camera
- 9:42Speaker 1: shot in a movie. And then later that day I
- 9:47Speaker 1: went to a church and I heard a popping sound
- 9:49Speaker 1: and the desire to drink left me and is never returned.
- 9:51Speaker 1: So that is like unexplainable to me, as like anything
- 9:55Speaker 1: normal in my life. I don't have anything else in
- 9:57Speaker 1: my life within one thousand miles of the those two
- 10:00Speaker 1: things happening to me one day.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Right.
- 10:02Speaker 1: But whether or not that was just like the pressure
- 10:05Speaker 1: of an addiction psyche something I don't I don't know.
- 10:09Speaker 2: I have no idea. Maybe you just needed a chiropractor,
- 10:13Speaker 2: that was your spine going.
- 10:14Speaker 1: But if me and someone else had had that same
- 10:17Speaker 1: experience at the same time, that would be a completely
- 10:20Speaker 1: different thing.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Yes, while there are many cases of not mass but
- 10:28Speaker 2: multiple people suffering the same delusion and reinforcing it in
- 10:31Speaker 2: each other, it is a horse of a different color
- 10:33Speaker 2: and two people experience it at the same time or
- 10:35Speaker 2: even claim to.
- 10:37Speaker 1: Yeah, that's interesting.
- 10:38Speaker 2: Yeah, demons jd vance not or not take your calls. Oh,
- 10:44Speaker 2: that's right, it's a podcast. He will just ring.
- 10:48Speaker 1: I mean, if they were going to make a big
- 10:49Speaker 1: deal out of George Jilby a bush, you know, citing
- 10:52Speaker 1: Bible verses throughout his life, a guy talking about demons
- 10:56Speaker 1: being spotted by Pilots's got definitely have to explain it.
- 11:01Speaker 1: If he runs for president.
- 11:05Speaker 2: I'd love to talk to him or this monsignor Rosetti
- 11:07Speaker 2: about it their beliefs. I'm not threatened by people who
- 11:11Speaker 2: believe things I don't or or I don't understand. I'd
- 11:14Speaker 2: love to hear. I'd love to hear his point of view.
- 11:16Speaker 1: It was jade Van's always religious and then he converted
- 11:19Speaker 1: to Catholicism from being religious as a Protestant or is
- 11:23Speaker 1: this all new to him because nobody has the fervor
- 11:26Speaker 1: like the recently converted, as Saint Augustine said, or somebody.
- 11:30Speaker 2: Right, he should mind his own business. I don't recall
- 11:34Speaker 2: anything from Hillbilly Elegy about his religious fervor at all,
- 11:37Speaker 2: but I did then he probably didn't ultimate memory have it.
- 11:40Speaker 1: And then he uh converted to Catholicism with his wife,
- 11:43Speaker 1: and he's talked about that a lot, and he's like
- 11:45Speaker 1: super serious about it now. But that's really interesting stuff.
- 11:49Speaker 1: I don't believe in extraterrestrials. I believe they're demons, and
- 11:53Speaker 1: I'm going to get to the bottom of it. Okay,
- 11:55Speaker 1: please do if you can. That'd be some you know,
- 11:58Speaker 1: breaking news. There are demons, right and they fly around.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Yikes. Run for your lives or pray or something. Get right,
- 12:09Speaker 2: that's right, Get right with the Lord, or get yourself
- 12:11Speaker 2: a good exorcist. Go on angi dot com. You can
- 12:14Speaker 2: see your neighbors recommendations and certifications and the rest of it.
- 12:20Speaker 3: Storm area fifty one. They can't stop all of us.
- 12:23Speaker 3: With an American Facebook event that took place on September twentieth,
- 12:27Speaker 3: twenty nineteen.
- 12:27Speaker 2: Out do you guys, remember that.
- 12:29Speaker 3: Yes, about one hundred and fifty people showed up at
- 12:31Speaker 3: the entrance and pretended they were going to storm the bell.
- 12:33Speaker 1: It was fun.
- 12:34Speaker 2: Oh, and the authorities looked all worried about it. That
- 12:36Speaker 2: was just before COVID. It was a more innocent time.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Yeah, it was we need to get more people together.
- 12:41Speaker 1: If we could get tens of thousands, then it would
- 12:43Speaker 1: be true. They can't stop all of us.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Oh forgot, what are you.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Gonna get a most down like we're Iranian protesters. No,
- 12:49Speaker 1: let us see the demons or air ets.
- 12:51Speaker 2: The bones, show me the bones.
- 12:55Speaker 3: Well, I guess that's it.
