• 0:26
SPEAKER_00: There's a lot more eye contact with the new studio.
• 0:28
  SPEAKER_00: I don't know how I feel.
• 0:29
SPEAKER_00: It's a lot, I'm gazing into the uh into the pearly blues over there, Sam, but I don't have as much space to not talk to.
• 0:36
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like especially if we're doing like song reactions, like with that camera that I'm looking square down the barrel of now.
• 0:42
SPEAKER_00: You're looking down camera one.
• 0:43
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 0:44
SPEAKER_00: I've got camera two locked on me, and then we've got camera three, yeah, which is the wide.
• 0:48
SPEAKER_00: And it is quite um daunting.
• 0:51
  SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of hardware.
• 0:52
SPEAKER_00: I mean honest, people you can't say this.
• 0:53
SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of hardware going on back there.
• 0:55
SPEAKER_00: A lot of hardware, a lot of software.
• 0:58
SPEAKER_00: Uh which is good timing because we've also just uh added native video for like Spotify and Apple Music as well as YouTube.
• 1:06
SPEAKER_00: So you can as well as the YouTube Sam, you can catch us if you're on Apple Music, you can switch to video at any time.
• 1:12
SPEAKER_00: Um, and it will keep you your spot from the audio version.
• 1:15
  SPEAKER_00: Same with Spotify.
• 1:16
SPEAKER_00: So switch it up, have a look at us.
• 1:18
SPEAKER_00: We're pretty ugly, but hey, fuck it.
• 1:20
SPEAKER_00: And you know, this is free.
• 1:22
SPEAKER_00: Pretty ugly, but fuck it.
• 1:23
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, fuck it.
• 1:24
SPEAKER_00: You put it as well.
• 1:25
  SPEAKER_00: I've seen Uglier.
• 1:26
  SPEAKER_00: I have too.
• 1:26
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 1:27
SPEAKER_00: Within the Indy, I'm just kidding.
• 1:28
SPEAKER_00: Not not March Uglier, but you know.
• 1:31
SPEAKER_00: You shouldn't speak about me in that way.
• 1:32
  SPEAKER_00: I don't like when you're talking about it.
• 1:34
SPEAKER_00: But um, should we dive into something new, Maxwell?
• 1:36
SPEAKER_00: Mate, no time to fuck around here today.
• 1:38
SPEAKER_00: Not time to fornicate with arachnids.
• 1:40
SPEAKER_00: Do you want to kick it off?
• 1:40
SPEAKER_00: Do you want me to launch us in?
• 1:42
  SPEAKER_00: No, you launch us.
• 1:42
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, fair enough.
• 1:43
  SPEAKER_00: Sam.
• 1:45
SPEAKER_00: My first song this week is from a Dutch band called POM.
• 1:49
  SPEAKER_00: Sprecken Sie Deutsch?
• 1:51
SPEAKER_00: I think that might have been an attempt at German.
• 1:53
  SPEAKER_00: Uh yeah.
• 1:54
SPEAKER_00: But we'll we'll come back to that.
• 1:56
  SPEAKER_00: Um we'll unpack that.
• 1:57
  SPEAKER_00: We'll unpack that later.
• 1:59
SPEAKER_00: Uh so this is a Dutch band, Sam called POM.
• 2:02
SPEAKER_00: Uh, they've been dropping tracks since about, oh no, much to work through.
• 2:04
SPEAKER_00: They've been dropping tracks since about 2019.
• 2:07
SPEAKER_00: Um, this particular song is called Hi.
• 2:09
SPEAKER_00: And uh it goes, I want to say it's like something like Block Party meets the 1975 in the verse, and then in the chorus, it's like this little kind of chunky pop punk thing kind of going on.
• 2:19
SPEAKER_00: And I like both sides of it a fair bit.
• 2:22
SPEAKER_00: Um, I'm gonna give you, I think, the chorus, so I would encourage you to go check out the other Versey part that I just talked about before.
• 2:27
SPEAKER_00: But this is Hi, as in Hello Hi, uh, by Pompeii.
• 2:57
SPEAKER_00: Close, close, but nice ago.
• 2:59
  SPEAKER_00: Close.
• 3:00
SPEAKER_00: Right street, right street, wrong house, wrong suburb.
• 3:04
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 3:05
  SPEAKER_00: Stanley Street, not road.
• 3:08
SPEAKER_00: Not a bad start, Maxwell.
• 3:09
  SPEAKER_00: Thanks, mate.
• 3:10
SPEAKER_00: It's been a huge week of new music, Maxwell.
• 3:12
  SPEAKER_00: Huge, monstrous.
• 3:15
SPEAKER_00: There you go, number one.
• 3:16
SPEAKER_00: That was that worked quite well for us.
• 3:19
SPEAKER_00: Um, new friends of the show, Maxwell.
• 3:21
  SPEAKER_00: Wild gay war.
• 3:24
  SPEAKER_00: Wage war.
• 3:25
  SPEAKER_00: Ah, yes.
• 3:26
SPEAKER_00: No, good, good from you.
• 3:27
SPEAKER_00: They dropped a new single called Sweet Dreams.
• 3:30
SPEAKER_00: Oh, like from a beautiful nightmare.
• 3:33
SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, we went very different directions there.
• 3:35
  SPEAKER_00: What song is that?
• 3:36
SPEAKER_00: Sweet Dream and a Beautiful.
• 3:38
  SPEAKER_00: That's Rihanna, isn't it?
• 3:39
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, is it?
• 3:41
  SPEAKER_00: Don't know.
• 3:42
SPEAKER_00: I'm trying to find out.
• 3:43
  SPEAKER_00: What a beautiful woman.
• 3:44
SPEAKER_00: Uh this song combines the heaviness of newer wage war with the super catchy vocal hooks that they're famous for.
• 3:53
SPEAKER_00: It's just a good metal core time.
• 3:55
SPEAKER_00: Give me some uh give me some core, Sam.
• 4:22
SPEAKER_00: Always time for gutter all.
• 4:24
SPEAKER_00: You know what I appreciate about uh wage war?
• 4:26
  SPEAKER_00: What's that?
• 4:27
  SPEAKER_00: Fucking cables.
• 4:29
SPEAKER_00: Uh what I appreciate about what I appreciate about wage war, Sam, if I could get it out, is the the bounce that they put into their riffs.
• 4:38
  SPEAKER_00: They're very bouncer.
• 4:39
SPEAKER_00: And you bounce it is this because they're from Florida, where Limp Biscuit, who famously put that bounce shit in the mosh pit, are from.
• 4:46
SPEAKER_00: You're a fan of the biscuit, if I do say so myself.
• 4:49
SPEAKER_00: Mate, I love a little bit of the limp and the biscuit, Sam.
• 4:51
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but there's pills to fix a limp.
• 4:53
  SPEAKER_00: Why would you?
• 4:54
  SPEAKER_00: Why would you, Sam?
• 4:55
SPEAKER_00: We love playing Skip Right.
• 4:58
  SPEAKER_00: Sam.
• 4:59
SPEAKER_00: I want to change direction pretty hard here.
• 5:01
SPEAKER_00: And go with a bit of Orville Peck.
• 5:03
  SPEAKER_00: Oh.
• 5:04
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 5:04
SPEAKER_00: So uh Orville Peck, you know, does uh generally speaking, plays in that kind of country world.
• 5:10
SPEAKER_00: Um but this song I think is more like surfy indie rock.
• 5:13
SPEAKER_00: Like it sounds like if I this is I've written it down as this is how I describe the song, if Elvis made triple J 2008 music.
• 5:20
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 5:21
SPEAKER_00: So it's very bright, it's very light, it's very airy, it's got these kind of hand claps, it's got a very surf rock like double snare in the in the chorus.
• 5:29
SPEAKER_00: Um, and then there is a little bit of a country trying with uh trying twang with Orville Peck's voice.
• 5:34
SPEAKER_00: So yeah, this is Too Little Too Late by Orville Peck.
• 6:04
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and that thing's swangin'.
• 6:06
  SPEAKER_00: It is swangin'.
• 6:07
  SPEAKER_00: Must be nice.
• 6:09
SPEAKER_00: Orville, tell us about it.
• 6:11
SPEAKER_00: Orville No, I'm just kidding.
• 6:13
SPEAKER_00: Uh Blinder could be the most exciting band coming up right now.
• 6:18
SPEAKER_00: If you're into new gays, if you're into atmospheric punk stuff, so good.
• 6:24
SPEAKER_00: They dropped an EP called Low Res, and this song is 480p.
• 6:28
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, sick.
• 6:29
SPEAKER_00: That is quite low res.
• 6:30
  SPEAKER_00: It's sick.
• 6:31
SPEAKER_00: That's not even fucking that's standard definition, Sam.
• 6:34
SPEAKER_00: Oh either way, it fucking rip.
• 6:58
  SPEAKER_00: Further than that.
• 7:00
  SPEAKER_00: Whoop! Whoops, Jesus.
• 7:02
SPEAKER_00: When the DJ uh leaves it go like a little bit too far under the bridge and it kind of dies a little bit before the mix.
• 7:06
SPEAKER_00: When they keep the strobes going a little bit too long.
• 7:09
SPEAKER_00: Yes, we'll come back to that.
• 7:10
SPEAKER_00: But Sam, you light up my world sometimes.
• 7:13
SPEAKER_00: Yes, like a teenage boy.
• 7:16
SPEAKER_00: My next song is from Barry Can't Swim.
• 7:19
SPEAKER_00: So we're getting a little bit dancing speaking of.
• 7:21
SPEAKER_00: And you know, he's sorry.
• 7:25
  SPEAKER_00: There you go.
• 7:26
SPEAKER_00: Scottish producer and DJ, he's going full French house, French electro on this one, and really emphasise that by getting like a French language slash a French French accented vocal line.
• 7:36
  SPEAKER_00: French language.
• 7:37
SPEAKER_00: That is hard to say.
• 7:38
  SPEAKER_00: French language slash French.
• 7:40
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's just a bit Irish wristwatch.
• 7:43
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 7:43
SPEAKER_00: French language slash French accented vocal in the running over the top.
• 7:48
SPEAKER_00: So I think Dart Punk is DJing on a Sydney Harbour yacht party.
• 7:53
  SPEAKER_00: Oh.
• 7:54
SPEAKER_00: That's that's the vibe that I'll give you for this song.
• 7:55
SPEAKER_00: Um if you like the song, he's performing at the Gold Coast and in Melbourne in October.
• 7:59
SPEAKER_00: So you know, free flying.
• 8:00
SPEAKER_00: Do you want me to remove the plug or no?
• 8:02
  SPEAKER_00: Keep it in.
• 8:03
SPEAKER_00: Push it in further, Sam.
• 8:04
SPEAKER_00: This is so this is Dance, Dance, Dance by Barry.
• 8:08
  SPEAKER_00: Cannot swim.
• 8:32
  SPEAKER_00: It's just a bit funk it.
• 8:33
  SPEAKER_00: It's just a bit funky.
• 8:36
SPEAKER_00: Going on in the funk department, Sam.
• 8:38
  SPEAKER_00: I like that.
• 8:39
  SPEAKER_00: That's good.
• 8:40
  SPEAKER_00: It's gonna make a good clip.
• 8:41
SPEAKER_00: Which camera do I use?
• 8:42
  SPEAKER_00: All of them.
• 8:43
SPEAKER_00: I don't know, but now my edge.
• 8:44
SPEAKER_00: You should exclusively use this one on my songs, and I'm not in it.
• 8:47
  unknown: Yeah.
• 8:48
  SPEAKER_00: I'll do the same.
• 8:48
SPEAKER_00: Something new, Maxwell, and it's just all you.
• 8:51
SPEAKER_00: Um I'm gonna bring some pop.
• 8:53
  SPEAKER_00: Oh.
• 8:54
  SPEAKER_00: Bring in some pop.
• 8:56
SPEAKER_00: Um, I've recently gotten into Bella Kay.
• 8:59
  unknown: Mmm.
• 9:00
SPEAKER_00: Do you know that artist?
• 9:01
  SPEAKER_00: Name rings a bell.
• 9:02
SPEAKER_00: I couldn't tell you a song off the top of my head.
• 9:04
SPEAKER_00: It's trending on TikTok at the moment.
• 9:05
SPEAKER_00: The song's called I Love It, I Love It, I Love It.
• 9:07
  SPEAKER_00: Oh.
• 9:08
SPEAKER_00: Um, it's just so cool.
• 9:10
SPEAKER_00: The vocal rhythms are really different from a pop perspective, and it's just been a little ear wham, if you will.
• 9:17
  SPEAKER_00: Earvom.
• 9:18
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 9:46
  SPEAKER_00: Bit country?
• 9:47
SPEAKER_00: Well, it is yeah, that kind of indie, folky, uh, yeah, tiny bit of country pop kind of thing.
• 9:53
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's cool.
• 9:54
  SPEAKER_00: I'm a big fan.
• 9:55
SPEAKER_00: When you said pop, I was thinking like we're going like Britney Spears, like hit me, baby one more time, but no, no, no.
• 9:59
SPEAKER_00: It's still it's still pop, very much pop.
• 10:00
  SPEAKER_00: You didn't lie, but I just wasn't what I was expecting.
• 10:02
  SPEAKER_00: No, a lot of pop I don't understand.
• 10:04
  SPEAKER_00: That's fine.
• 10:04
SPEAKER_00: Um, Beyonce, don't get it.
• 10:06
  SPEAKER_00: That's fine.
• 10:07
  SPEAKER_00: I don't get it whatsoever.
• 10:09
  SPEAKER_00: I I I appreciate it more than I would say I enjoy it.
• 10:13
SPEAKER_00: If I'm stuck on a desert island, yeah.
• 10:16
SPEAKER_00: I'd so I don't understand Beyonce so much that if I was on a desert island, I'd take Taylor Swift over Beyonce.
• 10:24
  SPEAKER_00: Which is fine.
• 10:24
  SPEAKER_00: I think they're both a fine artists.
• 10:29
  SPEAKER_00: They're fine.
• 10:31
SPEAKER_00: As in like C standard fine, or no, well I think I think both of them have decent songs.
• 10:36
SPEAKER_00: They have enough songs, they each have enough songs I'm like, I can deal with this.
• 10:39
SPEAKER_00: I wouldn't say that I'm like huge on their entire discography.
• 10:42
SPEAKER_00: There's enough where I'm like, okay, cool.
• 10:44
SPEAKER_00: If I had to listen to this, I I could get away with it.
• 10:46
SPEAKER_00: I get stuck in this really toxic loop of you belong with me by Taylor Swift.
• 10:50
SPEAKER_00: Alright, and you don't know the next level.
• 10:51
SPEAKER_00: I don't know that like she wears shorts, shorts, and then I just get stuck.
• 10:55
SPEAKER_00: I don't know how to get out of it because I don't know the words.
• 10:58
SPEAKER_00: So I just keep repeating the same four bars.
• 11:01
  SPEAKER_00: Fair enough.
• 11:01
  SPEAKER_00: Verse.
• 11:02
SPEAKER_00: I reckon there's a world where you might like evermore or f and folklore.
• 11:08
SPEAKER_00: Because you do you like a sad girl with a guitar.
• 11:12
  SPEAKER_00: Yes.
• 11:12
SPEAKER_00: And sorry, I'm just getting a call.
• 11:16
  SPEAKER_00: Hello, Taylor.
• 11:17
SPEAKER_00: It's your new biggest fan, Sam.
• 11:20
  SPEAKER_00: I reckon give it a spin.
• 11:21
SPEAKER_00: I reckon this might be the this might in a year's time, it might be like the radio head conversation, where you're like, I fucking hate it.
• 11:25
SPEAKER_00: And you're like, I shouldn't have minded radio head.
• 11:27
SPEAKER_00: Actually, I think I like radio head.
• 11:32
SPEAKER_00: Fascinating how I seen my fedora looks very appealing right now.
• 11:35
  SPEAKER_00: How about Tom York?
• 11:37
  SPEAKER_00: Over here, Tom.
• 11:40
  SPEAKER_00: Tom.
• 11:42
  SPEAKER_00: Tom.
• 11:42
  SPEAKER_00: Tom.
• 11:43
  SPEAKER_00: Tom.
• 11:45
SPEAKER_00: Uh Maxwell, why don't we get to the news?
• 11:48
SPEAKER_00: I think it's time we get to the news.
• 11:50
SPEAKER_00: Let's start it off with a little literally just what I said.
• 11:52
SPEAKER_00: That's why we wanted to double down.
• 11:54
SPEAKER_00: I think let's start it off with uh a little personal news, Sam.
• 11:56
SPEAKER_00: I think uh you're a couple of bands closer to the big 100.
• 11:59
SPEAKER_00: The back and a ton raising the bat, tipping the helmet.
• 12:03
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 12:04
  SPEAKER_00: I I am.
• 12:05
SPEAKER_00: I saw Holding Absence on Friday night.
• 12:08
SPEAKER_00: It was a great time.
• 12:09
  SPEAKER_00: Lucas is incredible live.
• 12:11
  SPEAKER_00: And a lovely dude.
• 12:12
SPEAKER_00: One of the nicest guys.
• 12:13
  SPEAKER_00: Nice forward sell.
• 12:14
SPEAKER_00: So keep your eyes peeled.
• 12:16
  SPEAKER_00: Holding Absence.
• 12:17
SPEAKER_00: We talked about their new album, Modern Life is Lonely, coming out to your feed soon.
• 12:22
SPEAKER_00: No, genuinely one of the nicest guys I think we've ever interviewed.
• 12:25
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 12:26
SPEAKER_00: And the chat was so good, our photographer said, that was my favourite chat you guys have ever done.
• 12:30
SPEAKER_00: Damn, full throwing whim under the bus there with a bit of a bit of the voice.
• 12:34
  SPEAKER_00: What are we guys?
• 12:35
  SPEAKER_00: I think that was a whipper.
• 12:38
SPEAKER_00: Guys, I need some more whiting for my photographs.
• 12:41
  SPEAKER_00: No, it was.
• 12:43
  SPEAKER_00: He doesn't listen.
• 12:44
  SPEAKER_00: Whip.
• 12:47
  SPEAKER_00: We're not bringing it.
• 12:48
SPEAKER_00: We've gone so long without it.
• 12:49
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we have.
• 12:50
  SPEAKER_00: Rest in peace.
• 12:52
SPEAKER_00: Um, no, they were incredible live.
• 12:54
SPEAKER_00: It takes the count up to 72.
• 12:56
SPEAKER_00: Oh wow, we're getting up there.
• 12:57
  SPEAKER_00: We are.
• 12:57
SPEAKER_00: And we had a big sound week too.
• 12:59
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so big sound will probably take me to about 85.
• 13:02
SPEAKER_00: And then I I really want to slow it down because I want to make the hundred a big one.
• 13:06
SPEAKER_00: I was gonna say you don't want to go early, do you, Sam?
• 13:09
  SPEAKER_00: No.
• 13:10
SPEAKER_00: You'd rather endure the you know the grind than pop off too early.
• 13:14
SPEAKER_00: Just think about chair legs or something, you'll be alright.
• 13:16
  SPEAKER_00: Grandma, grandma.
• 13:18
  SPEAKER_00: Grandma's dead.
• 13:19
SPEAKER_00: Then we go into it.
• 13:20
SPEAKER_00: Oh, oh, we're really going now.
• 13:24
SPEAKER_03: Meet me at the station.
• 13:27
  SPEAKER_03: Father.
• 13:28
  SPEAKER_00: IT crowd, anyone?
• 13:30
SPEAKER_00: But the weekend was highlighted, Maxwell, by our best boy Dan, his band Virtues played two of their biggest shows ever.
• 13:39
SPEAKER_00: They played to 3,000 people at the Fortitude Musical.
• 13:42
SPEAKER_00: Uh just a proud little friend moment, I feel.
• 13:45
SPEAKER_00: It's good to see him up there.
• 13:46
SPEAKER_00: He was um, I mean, the whole band was just they sounded crisp, they sounded tight.
• 13:50
SPEAKER_00: Uh it looked like they were just belonged there, you know what I mean?
• 13:54
  SPEAKER_00: Like dialed.
• 13:55
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 13:55
SPEAKER_00: They were just like, this place is home, we're doing it.
• 13:58
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 13:58
SPEAKER_00: And it's just it's cool to see your friends do cool shit, you know?
• 14:01
SPEAKER_00: Like we are fortunate to have a lot of cool little wins along the way, but to bring your friends along and see them do well away from you know, anything we're doing is awesome.
• 14:12
SPEAKER_00: So shout out to Dan.
• 14:13
SPEAKER_00: We've got his little set list up there.
• 14:14
SPEAKER_00: Um hidden behind some shit, don't worry about it, you can't see it.
• 14:17
SPEAKER_00: And for those wondering about the P plate, yeah.
• 14:19
SPEAKER_00: Speaking of friends attempting to tell you cool shit, I've graduated on Sunday.
• 14:24
  SPEAKER_00: I was a learner and now I'm provisional.
• 14:27
SPEAKER_00: Because I don't know if you pass the test, but well, let's let's assume.
• 14:30
  SPEAKER_00: I got a DAP afterwards.
• 14:32
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
• 14:33
SPEAKER_00: So I don't really want to drop names just in case, but uh we know a guy at the Fortune is legend.
• 14:43
SPEAKER_00: Um and he offered to teach you and I how to do the lights at the Fortitude Music Hall.
• 14:50
SPEAKER_00: It you know, it was a daunting task, one which Max bitched on.
• 14:54
SPEAKER_00: But lot of lot of lot of buttons, lot of lot of keyboard buttons, and I'm no Mavis Beacon, Sam.
• 15:00
SPEAKER_00: Honestly, Helen Keller would have a nightmare.
• 15:03
SPEAKER_00: Um but yeah, I I stepped up, I was like, for the boys, I'll have a crack.
• 15:08
SPEAKER_00: Um so on this two-shell pass, I stepped up, had a little play on the boards, and strobe the shit out of 3,000 people.
• 15:16
SPEAKER_00: Developed some late stage epilepsy for a few people, but uh yeah.
• 15:19
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but who cares?
• 15:20
  SPEAKER_00: It wasn't me.
• 15:20
SPEAKER_00: I knew it was coming, so I was prepped.
• 15:22
SPEAKER_00: But um it was great fun.
• 15:24
SPEAKER_00: We made a little video of it.
• 15:25
SPEAKER_00: If you can't if you haven't seen it, go to our Instagram, Helen Keller can't see it.
• 15:30
SPEAKER_00: But um, sorry, drive by Helen.
• 15:32
  SPEAKER_00: I'm sure you're a lovely lady.
• 15:33
SPEAKER_00: But uh yeah, it was a good weekend.
• 15:35
  SPEAKER_00: It was nice.
• 15:36
SPEAKER_00: It was good to see the boys get up there.
• 15:37
SPEAKER_00: It's good to see you uh behind the desk there, Sam, pressing some buttons, making some lights, go, and you know what?
• 15:43
SPEAKER_00: Just just a just a lovely, a lovely day out for the family, you know?
• 15:47
  SPEAKER_00: Probably not.
• 15:47
SPEAKER_00: I don't think mum would have liked it, but KPR, hell of a day out.
• 15:50
  SPEAKER_00: Dan's mum loved it.
• 15:51
  SPEAKER_00: Oh shout out, Charmaine.
• 15:53
  SPEAKER_00: Charmaine and Trev.
• 15:54
SPEAKER_00: And Trev, who met me for the first time.
• 15:56
SPEAKER_00: What a lovely little couple they are.
• 15:58
SPEAKER_00: Well, should we keep the uh keep the news rolling, Sam?
• 16:01
SPEAKER_00: Let's do it because we're talking about uh one of the most underrated characters on the office.
• 16:06
SPEAKER_00: Fuck, that is a deep cut, because it's the other way around of my lineup, so I had to flick around.
• 16:10
SPEAKER_00: But we are we are talking about Meredith.
• 16:12
  SPEAKER_00: Oh fucking hell.
• 16:15
SPEAKER_00: That was perfect, and you swung and missed.
• 16:19
SPEAKER_00: Uh so Sam uh Meredith have dropped their lineup for December 12th, 13th, and sorry, 12th, 11th.
• 16:24
  SPEAKER_00: No, 11th, 12th, and 13th.
• 16:27
SPEAKER_00: Uh they uh we're gonna see some some pretty solid names out of uh Meredith or at Meredith.
• 16:31
SPEAKER_00: We are so headlining uh Dijon underscores and fuckers.
• 16:35
  SPEAKER_00: Mustard.
• 16:37
SPEAKER_00: He's not on it, it's just Dijon Mustard.
• 16:39
  SPEAKER_00: Just Dijon.
• 16:39
SPEAKER_00: Uh we've got the Dandy Warholes, Hiatus Coyote, DJ Seinfeld.
• 16:42
SPEAKER_00: We've got Fat Dog, mate.
• 16:44
  SPEAKER_00: There's killing Heidi's in there.
• 16:45
SPEAKER_00: Show me the body for a bit of heft, which is crazy.
• 16:48
  SPEAKER_00: Which is cool.
• 16:49
  SPEAKER_00: Um, like there's there's a there's plenty, plenty more.
• 16:52
SPEAKER_00: We're not gonna do the entire thing, but it's a really like Meredith has always been one of those like more alternate festivals where I'm like, you know, I like a couple of bands on there, but this lineup is like right up in my wheelhouse.
• 17:03
  SPEAKER_00: It really is.
• 17:04
SPEAKER_00: You sent it to me and you're like, fuck, this is unreal high.
• 17:07
SPEAKER_00: I was like, brother, firstly, hello, good thing to yourself.
• 17:12
SPEAKER_00: Um Dijon, I think will be cool.
• 17:14
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 17:15
SPEAKER_00: Um show me the body put out an album this year that a lot of people are talking about.
• 17:18
SPEAKER_00: Hi Age Coyote, um, always good.
• 17:22
SPEAKER_00: But if you think Dijon's gonna play his songs like they are on the album, brace for disappointment.
• 17:30
  SPEAKER_00: Wow.
• 17:31
SPEAKER_00: I've seen some clips and I'm like, he's playing the dress, which is one of my favourite songs in general.
• 17:35
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 17:36
  SPEAKER_00: I'm like, where's the dress?
• 17:38
SPEAKER_00: This is all your experimental shit.
• 17:40
SPEAKER_00: Like it's a bit like what McGee does.
• 17:43
SPEAKER_00: We're gonna call him like, hello, Mr.
• 17:45
  SPEAKER_00: Dij.
• 17:45
SPEAKER_00: Uh just please, one for me, one for little Sam.
• 17:48
SPEAKER_00: I spoke to your dad four seed, and I really need you.
• 17:51
  SPEAKER_00: Old English.
• 17:52
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 17:52
  SPEAKER_00: That's no, that's grandpa.
• 17:54
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, sorry.
• 17:54
SPEAKER_00: Uh old English is grandfather, uh, his grandfather, four seed is his dad, and then just like American is his mum.
• 18:02
SPEAKER_00: But uh it should be good.
• 18:04
  SPEAKER_00: I'm keen.
• 18:04
  SPEAKER_00: Where is it?
• 18:05
  SPEAKER_00: Uh where?
• 18:05
  SPEAKER_00: At in Meredith.
• 18:06
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 18:07
  SPEAKER_00: Yep.
• 18:07
  SPEAKER_00: Nice.
• 18:08
  SPEAKER_00: Great.
• 18:08
  SPEAKER_00: That's a bit invasive, isn't it?
• 18:09
  SPEAKER_00: Victoria.
• 18:10
  SPEAKER_00: That is quite invasive.
• 18:11
SPEAKER_00: Uh, but also another flag, I don't think any of these artists have an exclusive.
• 18:15
SPEAKER_00: Well, there's it's not mentioned that they have an exclusivity with a festival.
• 18:18
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 18:18
SPEAKER_00: So maybe keep an eye out for some side shows, some headline shows.
• 18:24
  SPEAKER_00: Who knows?
• 18:25
  SPEAKER_00: I don't know anything.
• 18:26
  SPEAKER_00: I'm not preempting anyone.
• 18:28
  SPEAKER_00: He's not Meredith's husband.
• 18:29
SPEAKER_00: No, but hopefully some of these guys plan some shows.
• 18:34
  SPEAKER_00: Good sell.
• 18:35
SPEAKER_00: Thanks, but we talk about the geek.
• 18:36
SPEAKER_00: Let's talk about the gig.
• 18:37
SPEAKER_00: Shout out to I think Rick.
• 18:39
SPEAKER_00: Sorry, I probably should have checked your name.
• 18:40
  SPEAKER_00: I think your name's Rick.
• 18:41
  SPEAKER_00: Sorry, Rick.
• 18:41
  SPEAKER_00: To his mom.
• 18:42
SPEAKER_00: Um shout out to Rick who uh hit us up um to talk about this little underrated gig number coming into orange, New South Wales.
• 18:51
  SPEAKER_00: Orange.
• 18:52
  SPEAKER_00: Orange.
• 18:53
SPEAKER_00: Uh, with a pretty solid lineup.
• 18:54
SPEAKER_00: So uh it's over two days.
• 18:56
SPEAKER_00: Um, and day one, you got Luca Brazi, the Bennies Where's Jimmy, and Gaza.
• 19:00
  SPEAKER_00: Then day two.
• 19:01
SPEAKER_00: Do you want to do day two or do you want me to handle it?
• 19:03
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, day two, you got Wind Walker, you've got Diamond Construct, Whisper Head, Stare at the Clouds, and Stone Sovereign.
• 19:08
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 19:09
  SPEAKER_00: It's decent.
• 19:10
SPEAKER_00: I've never heard of this gig before.
• 19:12
SPEAKER_00: I think it might be an inaugural, if you will, Sam.
• 19:15
  SPEAKER_00: Right, that.
• 19:16
SPEAKER_00: It's in September in Orange.
• 19:18
SPEAKER_00: And look, we we love a regional show.
• 19:20
SPEAKER_00: It's at the Agricultural Pavilion in Orange.
• 19:23
  SPEAKER_00: So get down there.
• 19:24
SPEAKER_00: Uh, we love a regional show, and seeing big bands go regional is always fucking cool.
• 19:28
SPEAKER_00: And Wind Waker's new shit's cool, too.
• 19:30
  SPEAKER_00: Fucking oath, it is.
• 19:31
  SPEAKER_00: Shout out Liam.
• 19:32
  SPEAKER_00: Shout out other Liam.
• 19:33
  SPEAKER_00: Different Liam.
• 19:34
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, different Liam.
• 19:35
SPEAKER_00: So I was like, what?
• 19:36
SPEAKER_00: There's a different Liam in Wind Waker.
• 19:39
SPEAKER_00: Shout out both Liam's and Wind Waker.
• 19:40
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, both are Liam's.
• 19:42
SPEAKER_00: You know who you are.
• 19:43
  SPEAKER_00: You guys are G's.
• 19:44
SPEAKER_00: They're both very close friends of the show.
• 19:46
  SPEAKER_00: Yes, they are.
• 19:47
SPEAKER_00: Um, but hell yeah, bro.
• 19:49
SPEAKER_00: Get out to Orange and get fucking down.
• 19:52
  SPEAKER_00: Get rowdy, my brother.
• 19:53
SPEAKER_00: Howdy, howdy, let's get rowdy.
• 19:55
SPEAKER_00: Maxwell, we need to talk about the Phoebe Bridges album.
• 19:58
SPEAKER_00: Because I a lot of people in our comments, you know, we ran into uh we'll call him a friend of the show, Bailey, who uh we were checking out our boy Dan play.
• 20:12
SPEAKER_00: He was like, You guys are the reason we got uh I got into Ethel Kane, which is awesome.
• 20:17
SPEAKER_00: Um and I talk a lot about Saros, and we've brought so many sad artists to the show that I've never actually given Phoebe Bridges the time of day.
• 20:28
SPEAKER_00: I just sort of scanned through her songs and went, oh, I don't think it's for me.
• 20:32
  SPEAKER_00: Yep.
• 20:33
SPEAKER_00: But she dropped Lost Weekend, and I thought, everyone's talking about it.
• 20:36
  SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna dive in.
• 20:38
  SPEAKER_00: This shit is amazing.
• 20:39
  SPEAKER_00: It's Ticlinia.
• 20:40
SPEAKER_00: This could be an album of the year contender, like Halcyon Blues by Citizen, bangers.
• 20:46
SPEAKER_00: Wait till you guys hear new holding absence, bangers.
• 20:51
SPEAKER_00: And Varials will be up there for me.
• 20:53
SPEAKER_00: But this one, early signs are good.
• 20:56
  SPEAKER_00: Right.
• 20:57
SPEAKER_00: So I'm just gonna give you a few clippies.
• 21:00
SPEAKER_00: Um, just to give everyone at home a bit of a taste.
• 21:02
SPEAKER_00: If you haven't heard it and you haven't gotten into Phoebe Bridges, but you're one of those lovely people who got into ethyl cane like me.
• 21:10
SPEAKER_00: I'll be honest, the the the uh discovery rate for Phoebe Bridges on is I'm sure a lot higher.
• 21:15
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but everyone can eat my ass as far as I'm concerned.
• 21:17
SPEAKER_00: Hey, there's always someone who hasn't seen it.
• 21:19
  SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
• 21:20
  SPEAKER_00: My ass.
• 21:23
  SPEAKER_00: Not many, it's a limited number.
• 21:24
SPEAKER_00: Good luck, need a fucking machete going through that shit.
• 21:27
  SPEAKER_00: Dr.
• 21:27
  SPEAKER_00: Livingston, I do.
• 21:30
  SPEAKER_00: That's my father?
• 21:31
SPEAKER_00: Anyway, uh the first song I'm gonna play you is I can't wait.
• 21:34
SPEAKER_00: This was the uh the song that got me into the album.
• 22:00
SPEAKER_00: Just kind of like dissonant.
• 22:02
SPEAKER_00: I love it when artists are duetting and one does that that dissonant chord to sound a little bit abrasive.
• 22:10
  SPEAKER_00: Yep.
• 22:10
  SPEAKER_00: Vibes.
• 22:11
SPEAKER_00: Oh fucking hit me chin.
• 22:12
  SPEAKER_00: Oh mate.
• 22:13
  SPEAKER_00: Not my chinny chin.
• 22:14
SPEAKER_00: You don't need to harm yourself.
• 22:16
SPEAKER_00: Didn't realize Bo Burnham was in so much of this album.
• 22:19
  SPEAKER_00: Sorry, continue.
• 22:19
  SPEAKER_00: Bo Burnham.
• 22:20
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 22:21
  SPEAKER_00: Repeat stuff.
• 22:22
SPEAKER_00: He's got a uh he's got a a composer composing and lyrics credit in a lot of that.
• 22:27
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 22:28
  SPEAKER_00: Good for him.
• 22:28
SPEAKER_00: Uh this next one's called Kill Me.
• 22:30
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, whoa.
• 22:31
  SPEAKER_00: All right.
• 22:50
SPEAKER_00: So we're getting like country, folk, atmospheric atomic bomb.
• 22:57
SPEAKER_00: Produced by uh fucking Throne Man.
• 23:00
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, produced by Buster Odalhome.
• 23:02
SPEAKER_00: I don't know his name, but it's the RAM.
• 23:04
  SPEAKER_00: Buster.
• 23:05
  SPEAKER_00: Buster nut.
• 23:12
  SPEAKER_00: Whenever I hear Buster.
• 23:14
SPEAKER_00: What else do you cover a podcast that covers those two things?
• 23:16
SPEAKER_00: The clips are gonna be good at the end of the year at this rate.
• 23:20
  SPEAKER_00: Buster Odalhome.
• 23:22
  SPEAKER_00: Buster Vodafone.
• 23:24
  SPEAKER_00: Anyway.
• 23:26
SPEAKER_00: Fuck it, I'll keep this thing moving.
• 23:27
SPEAKER_00: Anyway, uh the last uh second last one, as above, this is my favorite one.
• 23:57
  SPEAKER_00: That's nice, isn't it?
• 23:58
  SPEAKER_00: It is nice.
• 23:59
SPEAKER_00: And then the last one, Lost Weekend, it's a reprise, but fuck how good's a reprise.
• 24:03
SPEAKER_00: I well, only if the original was worth reprising, yeah.
• 24:06
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, fair.
• 24:07
  SPEAKER_00: Anyway.
• 24:13
SPEAKER_02: When a dream comes true.
• 24:16
SPEAKER_02: Fantasy dark, but we're gonna be alright.
• 24:22
  SPEAKER_02: Me and you.
• 24:24
  SPEAKER_02: You love me.
• 24:26
  SPEAKER_02: I won't ever let you forget.
• 24:32
SPEAKER_00: Me and you and you and me and me and Bach.
• 24:35
  SPEAKER_00: That was nice.
• 24:36
  SPEAKER_00: That was nice.
• 24:37
SPEAKER_00: It was nice, wasn't it?
• 24:38
SPEAKER_00: So if you haven't heard it, go listen to the new Phoebe Bridges.
• 24:41
SPEAKER_00: Probably a good time to walk away from my microphone.
• 24:43
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, really good, good spot.
• 24:44
SPEAKER_00: I was just I was while while we were doing this, I just pulled up Phoebe Bridges' website and her European tour ends very decisively on the 12th of December, 2026.
• 24:55
  SPEAKER_00: She's playing good things.
• 24:57
SPEAKER_00: She's gone down and she's let this get into Phoebe Bridges.
• 25:00
SPEAKER_00: I mean, that tells me that there's a January, there's a February that uh say February again.
• 25:06
  SPEAKER_00: February.
• 25:06
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, okay.
• 25:07
  SPEAKER_00: There's a there's a jan, there's a feb to uh really cut that out.
• 25:11
SPEAKER_00: That uh Oh my god.
• 25:13
SPEAKER_00: There's gaps in, you know what I'm saying?
• 25:16
SPEAKER_00: Could we see Phoebe Bridges Haley Williams laneway?
• 25:19
  SPEAKER_00: Potentially.
• 25:20
  SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
• 25:21
SPEAKER_00: I'm not I'm just looking at dates, Sam.
• 25:24
SPEAKER_00: I'm just looking at the calendar and saying those dates are there.
• 25:28
SPEAKER_00: January and February on the calendar.
• 25:35
SPEAKER_00: I can barrel the camera now, it's fucking awesome.
• 25:38
SPEAKER_00: I looked at the screen, not the fucking lens.
• 25:41
  SPEAKER_00: Christ.
• 25:42
SPEAKER_00: There's nothing worse than looking at the camera and missing it by three centimeters.
• 25:46
SPEAKER_00: Well, shall we get into a bit of the suitcase, Sam?
• 25:49
  SPEAKER_00: Zip zip this bitch.
• 25:50
  SPEAKER_00: Zip zip.
• 25:51
SPEAKER_00: So the success of my shoe gaze segment last week has brought me to an updated version.
• 25:58
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 25:58
  SPEAKER_00: Get excited, everyone.
• 26:00
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 26:00
  SPEAKER_00: Because good shit.
• 26:03
  SPEAKER_00: It didn't crack anything.
• 26:04
  SPEAKER_00: Awesome.
• 26:05
SPEAKER_00: Maxwell, it's new gaze, not shoe gaze.
• 26:08
  SPEAKER_00: There we go.
• 26:09
  SPEAKER_00: There we go.
• 26:10
SPEAKER_00: So new gaze is apparently a modern, heavier style of shoe gaze.
• 26:16
SPEAKER_00: Should we should we give the listeners a very quick family tree?
• 26:21
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 26:22
  SPEAKER_00: We can do that.
• 26:23
SPEAKER_00: So you've got shoe gays, like original flavour shoe gaze kind of came out of that like early 90s Madchester kind of like it was indie rock.
• 26:32
  SPEAKER_00: My Bloody Valentine.
• 26:33
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, indie rock meets kind of like almost a bit dance kind of thing.
• 26:37
SPEAKER_00: Like there's some electronics going on there as well.
• 26:39
SPEAKER_00: It's very, it's not particularly heavy, it's more like drony, if you will.
• 26:44
SPEAKER_00: And it shoe gays derived from the way that guitarists would play guitars that were so affected.
• 26:51
SPEAKER_00: They played the whole set staring at their pedal board.
• 26:55
  SPEAKER_00: Yes.
• 26:55
SPEAKER_00: So they're staring at their shoes, shoe gays.
• 26:57
SPEAKER_00: Yes, and that kind of caught on as like the way that you would dance to the music because it's very, you know, there's not well, it's not necessarily like big ups and downs and stuff.
• 27:04
SPEAKER_00: It's very even, and you kind of would just sort of experience it and bop along, kind of thing.
• 27:08
SPEAKER_00: You'd be looking at the ground.
• 27:09
  SPEAKER_00: 100%.
• 27:09
SPEAKER_00: Then we had new metal in the late 90s, uh early 2000s.
• 27:14
SPEAKER_00: Very everyone knows new metal, but it's very thick, very bouncy.
• 27:17
SPEAKER_00: Rap meets uh metal meets kind of some electronics in there as well.
• 27:22
SPEAKER_00: You know, you always had DJ Lethal on the decks up the back.
• 27:25
SPEAKER_00: You've got the big four corn, slipknot, linkin' park, and limp biscuit.
• 27:30
  SPEAKER_00: Yep.
• 27:31
SPEAKER_00: And then throw a bit of grunge and post-grunge through the late 90s and into the early 2000s, and then put all that in a pot, mix it together, and you get yourself New Gaze.
• 27:42
  SPEAKER_00: Yes.
• 27:42
SPEAKER_00: So New Gaze has two distinct meanings, apparently.
• 27:44
SPEAKER_00: So it's a 2000s indie electronic infused shoe gaze revival.
• 27:48
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 27:48
SPEAKER_00: And a modern crossover blending heavy drop-tuned guitars, like grunge riffs, uh like that post-punk vibe, with new metal, dreamy shoe gaze walls of sound.
• 27:58
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 27:59
SPEAKER_00: So I brought a band Slow Waves a couple weeks ago.
• 28:03
  SPEAKER_00: They're very that.
• 28:04
SPEAKER_00: And all of these bands are very new gays, Maxwell.
• 28:08
  SPEAKER_00: Let's do it.
• 28:08
SPEAKER_00: So I'm going to start you with Slow Crush, who, for those rusted on listeners, I have brought before.
• 28:14
SPEAKER_00: But for the ones that are new and all across the globe, welcome.
• 28:17
SPEAKER_00: This is Thirst by Slow Crush.
• 28:19
  SPEAKER_00: Let's do it.
• 28:47
  SPEAKER_00: There's some real dissonance.
• 28:49
SPEAKER_00: Oh, don't you love the back of that?
• 28:52
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 28:53
SPEAKER_00: An artist that is dominating in this genre at the moment is Wisp.
• 28:57
SPEAKER_00: For those lucky enough to go to Laneway earlier in the year, she played there and she was incredible.
• 29:02
SPEAKER_00: If you haven't, go see my stories.
• 29:04
SPEAKER_00: Like it's under the gigs tab, it's like four in.
• 29:07
SPEAKER_00: Um, but she's very, very cool.
• 29:09
SPEAKER_00: This song is called See You Soon.
• 29:40
SPEAKER_00: The guitar effect, the one tiny tambourine hit.
• 29:43
SPEAKER_00: It's all happening in there.
• 29:45
SPEAKER_00: Hundredth, a band that were very metalcore that are now very shoe gays.
• 29:50
  SPEAKER_00: Yep.
• 29:50
SPEAKER_00: Um this song down, one of my favorite songs of all time.
• 29:55
  SPEAKER_00: Banger.
• 29:56
  SPEAKER_00: Banger.
• 30:23
SPEAKER_00: Bangers and mash for those British at home.
• 30:26
SPEAKER_00: Uh the next one I have is Wish by Day Aches.
• 30:29
SPEAKER_00: This one's a bit more aggressive for those playing along at home.
• 30:33
SPEAKER_00: Bit more in your face, bit punky, bit on the edge.
• 30:36
SPEAKER_00: In your grill, up in your fucking hair, up in your grizz.
• 31:04
  unknown: Five.
• 31:05
SPEAKER_00: That one was getting that one was I'm gonna say getting out of the new games territory.
• 31:08
SPEAKER_00: It was very on the edge.
• 31:09
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 31:10
  SPEAKER_00: Sort of bordering grunge.
• 31:11
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, bordering grunge, bordering, I'd even say bordering some like post-metal in there.
• 31:14
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, a little bit.
• 31:15
SPEAKER_00: The last one, this is very back in the the New Gaze.
• 31:18
SPEAKER_00: This is Head Rush by Days.
• 31:22
SPEAKER_00: So we've had Slow Crush, the band.
• 31:24
SPEAKER_00: Now we've got Head Rush, the song by Daze.
• 31:27
  SPEAKER_00: D-A-Z-E.
• 31:28
  SPEAKER_00: Not Day Aches.
• 31:30
  SPEAKER_00: No.
• 31:30
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, that was a stretch.
• 31:32
SPEAKER_00: Or Days, Day Ache, Days.
• 31:34
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, anyway.
• 31:39
  SPEAKER_00: Oh fuck.
• 31:41
SPEAKER_00: I just didn't want to give that too much.
• 31:47
  SPEAKER_00: Play the fucking song.
• 32:16
SPEAKER_00: And all those songs had a a good note change on the on the uh on the offbeat.
• 32:23
  SPEAKER_00: They did, didn't they?
• 32:24
SPEAKER_00: What's your favorite new metal song?
• 32:26
  SPEAKER_00: New gaze song.
• 32:28
SPEAKER_00: Text us on the text line.
• 32:30
SPEAKER_00: Oh four three nine seven five seven four five.
• 32:32
  unknown: Yeah.
• 32:32
  SPEAKER_00: Right in.
• 32:33
SPEAKER_00: Tell us about this thing.
• 32:34
  SPEAKER_00: That's actually Max's phone number.
• 32:35
  SPEAKER_00: Correct.
• 32:36
  SPEAKER_00: Call me.
• 32:36
  SPEAKER_00: Keep calling.
• 32:37
SPEAKER_00: Don't stop until you get me.
• 32:39
SPEAKER_00: Sam, I uh read the other day that we are six years out, almost to the day.
• 32:44
  SPEAKER_00: So far away.
• 32:45
SPEAKER_00: No, like we've got to start planning, Sam.
• 32:47
SPEAKER_00: These things don't happen overnight.
• 32:48
SPEAKER_00: We are six years out from the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games.
• 32:52
SPEAKER_00: And I thought, these organizers, they need some help.
• 32:55
SPEAKER_00: They can't build a stadium, but you know what they need help with?
• 32:57
SPEAKER_00: Putting some fucking musicians on the bill.
• 33:00
SPEAKER_00: So we're building the Brisbane 2032 lineup.
• 33:05
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 33:06
SPEAKER_00: Well, some some suggestions, if you will.
• 33:08
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 33:08
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 33:09
SPEAKER_00: Could be opening ceremony, it could be closing ceremony, it could be in anywhere in betwixt.
• 33:13
  SPEAKER_00: During the archery?
• 33:14
SPEAKER_00: It could be during the archery.
• 33:15
  SPEAKER_00: Fucking annoying though.
• 33:16
  SPEAKER_00: Some of these songs.
• 33:17
SPEAKER_00: If you were, you know, dialed in.
• 33:19
SPEAKER_00: That Turkish guy who just rocked up and doing the pistol shooting just fucking put a tat.
• 33:24
SPEAKER_00: Meanwhile, there's a couple of these bands going on in the background.
• 33:27
  SPEAKER_00: Let's do it.
• 33:28
  SPEAKER_00: Let's go through it.
• 33:28
  SPEAKER_00: Alright, Sam.
• 33:29
SPEAKER_00: Maybe maybe we could put uh like an Olympic uh event to each of these.
• 33:33
  SPEAKER_00: Ooh, okay.
• 33:34
  SPEAKER_00: Alright.
• 33:35
SPEAKER_00: First one, and I think it would be one of the biggest reunions.
• 33:38
  SPEAKER_00: You're you're thinking I want to say powder finger, but it's it's bigger.
• 33:42
  SPEAKER_00: Bigger internationally.
• 33:43
  SPEAKER_00: Savage Garden.
• 33:44
SPEAKER_00: Get them back together, Sam.
• 33:46
SPEAKER_00: Brisbane Logan royalty, if you will.
• 33:51
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, shut through.
• 33:53
SPEAKER_00: They broke up in I think like 2002.
• 33:56
SPEAKER_00: They've done a lot of different things separately.
• 33:59
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 33:59
  SPEAKER_00: Darren and Daniel.
• 34:00
SPEAKER_00: And uh I think it's time that I think the the Olympics, you know, the spirit of competition, of camaraderie, of coming together to celebrate a common cause.
• 34:09
  SPEAKER_00: Patriotism.
• 34:10
  SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
• 34:11
SPEAKER_00: Could bring them back together truly madly deeply.
• 34:14
  SPEAKER_00: Imagine that.
• 34:15
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 34:16
SPEAKER_00: Darren strapped into some kind of like harness, flying around the stadium, doing a bit of stand with you on a mountain.
• 34:22
  SPEAKER_00: Like beautiful.
• 34:23
  SPEAKER_00: Fucking beautiful, man.
• 34:24
  SPEAKER_00: Dialing in from Kilimanjaro.
• 34:26
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, oh, and and you know, like everybody just goes, Yeah, Brisbane.
• 34:29
  SPEAKER_00: Beautiful.
• 34:30
  SPEAKER_00: That's fucking Brisbane, isn't it?
• 34:31
  SPEAKER_00: That's that's fucking Brisbane.
• 34:32
SPEAKER_00: Kilimanjaro is not in Australia.
• 34:34
  SPEAKER_00: Nah, it's in Africa.
• 34:35
SPEAKER_00: It's the tallest peak in Africa, famously.
• 34:37
SPEAKER_00: I said that, I was like, You mean Kilkar?
• 34:39
  SPEAKER_00: Kosyosko.
• 34:40
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's yeah, that's definitely.
• 34:41
SPEAKER_00: That's that's also in New South Wales though.
• 34:42
  SPEAKER_00: So nowhere near Brisbane.
• 34:43
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but it's Australia.
• 34:44
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, sure.
• 34:45
SPEAKER_00: Dialing in from Mount Cutha.
• 34:47
SPEAKER_00: He'd have good reception there with nine, ten, and seven there.
• 34:50
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, and the ABC.
• 34:51
SPEAKER_00: A couple of relay towers up there.
• 34:52
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but they're 3G.
• 34:53
  SPEAKER_00: Beautiful, beautiful up there.
• 34:55
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
• 34:56
  SPEAKER_00: It's a good spot.
• 34:56
SPEAKER_00: It's not bad from you.
• 34:58
SPEAKER_00: I'm trying to think, like, will these bands last in six years' time?
• 35:03
SPEAKER_00: Like, will there be Well, I think they come together for this.
• 35:06
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 35:06
  SPEAKER_00: Like, and maybe it's a one-off, you know?
• 35:08
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 35:08
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 35:09
SPEAKER_00: What else have you gotten?
• 35:10
SPEAKER_00: I'm thinking this could go really well for the swimming.
• 35:14
SPEAKER_00: Given some of their some of their title tracks.
• 35:17
  SPEAKER_00: The title tracks.
• 35:17
SPEAKER_00: Some of their tracks as well, I should say.
• 35:20
SPEAKER_00: I think we could see a like they've they've only just broken up, but I think we could see a return of Amity Affliction.
• 35:26
SPEAKER_00: Just down, just out of the sleeman sports complex.
• 35:30
SPEAKER_00: Get rid of drag the lake, drag the pool.
• 35:32
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 35:33
SPEAKER_00: Let the pool take me.

• 35:38
  SPEAKER_04: I've got water emergence.
• 35:43
  SPEAKER_03: Oh shit.
• 35:45
SPEAKER_00: I think like again, another excellent export from the greater Brisbane, Southeast Queensland area, Gimpy.
• 35:51
SPEAKER_00: Uh, and I think beautiful Sam.
• 35:53
  SPEAKER_00: Beautiful.
• 35:54

• 36:03
  SPEAKER_00: Honorary Brisbane.
• 36:04
SPEAKER_00: Actually, the band originally from Sydney, but the lead singer Dave has moved to Brisbane and now lives here.
• 36:08
SPEAKER_00: And I think we can call him Honorary Brisbane.
• 36:10
  SPEAKER_00: It's Boy and Bear.
• 36:12
  SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah.
• 36:12
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 36:13
SPEAKER_00: Great of the archery, because I think not like two in your face.
• 36:17
SPEAKER_00: A little bit Victorian, maybe.
• 36:19
  SPEAKER_00: Like I think you're like something.
• 36:23
  SPEAKER_00: Something sunset.
• 36:24
SPEAKER_00: I can see Boy and Bear at, you know?
• 36:26
SPEAKER_00: Maybe maybe the marathon, the end of the marathon.
• 36:29
SPEAKER_00: Jeez, if I was at the end of the marathon, busting my lung, boy and bear is not what I'd want to do.
• 36:33
SPEAKER_00: Kip Strigo's doing a sub two hour, and meanwhile, a bit of Southern Sun's coming on.
• 36:37
SPEAKER_00: Oh, you've got yourself a fucking treat there.
• 36:39
SPEAKER_00: That's when you need something heavy to like drive you through the last ten.
• 36:42
SPEAKER_00: That's when violent soho or like bring Evermore back from New Zealand.
• 36:47
  SPEAKER_00: Just running.
• 36:47
  SPEAKER_00: Not even Australian.
• 36:48
  SPEAKER_00: Not even Australian.
• 36:50
  SPEAKER_00: Our little brothers.
• 36:51
  SPEAKER_00: Across the Dutch.
• 36:53
SPEAKER_00: And just the last 5Ks like running.
• 36:59

• 37:01
SPEAKER_00: She's been living in LA for a little while.
• 37:03
SPEAKER_00: But I think the the awesome Dream Pop stylings could go really well with like the gymnastics.
• 37:09
  SPEAKER_00: Hatchy.
• 37:10
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 37:10
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 37:11
SPEAKER_00: Bring that dream pop, you know, vibe coming in.
• 37:13
SPEAKER_00: Um, or maybe even like uh like um some of the jumping sports, your long jump, your high jump, your your pole vault, all that kind of thing.
• 37:20
SPEAKER_00: Just a bit of hatch, a bit of triple jump, if you will, a bit of hop skip jump, Sam.
• 37:23
SPEAKER_00: I think Hatchy could just really soundtrack those nicely.
• 37:25
  SPEAKER_00: I like it.
• 37:26
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 37:26
  SPEAKER_00: Good call.
• 37:27
  SPEAKER_00: This last one, Sam.
• 37:30
  SPEAKER_00: Might be controversial.
• 37:32
SPEAKER_00: I think we take we create we create a supergroup.
• 37:35
  SPEAKER_00: If you will.
• 37:37
SPEAKER_00: You said if you will about three times in this video.
• 37:39
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, saying if you will.
• 37:41
SPEAKER_00: I'm thinking a couple of members of Violence Oh.

• 37:45
SPEAKER_00: I'm thinking a couple members of June Rats.

SPEAKER_00: I'm thinking they're at the Greco Rubin Wrestling for some reason.
• 37:50
  SPEAKER_00: Not vibe.
• 37:51
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 37:52
SPEAKER_00: And they're just dropping probably like uh covers of each other's songs, you know what I mean?
• 37:56
SPEAKER_00: So we can get a bit of like like like soda into Scott Green.
• 38:00
  SPEAKER_00: Scott Green.
• 38:00
SPEAKER_00: Would that'd go great with it?
• 38:02
  SPEAKER_00: Gina works at hearts.
• 38:03
  SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah.
• 38:03
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, imagine.
• 38:04
  SPEAKER_00: Dollar chills.
• 38:05
SPEAKER_00: You know, yeah, just excellent stuff.
• 38:07
  SPEAKER_00: Total meltdown.
• 38:08
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 38:09
SPEAKER_00: Rounded out with a covered in chrome.
• 38:11
  SPEAKER_00: Whole crowd singing along.
• 38:12
SPEAKER_00: Maybe well, they're gonna introduce cricket.
• 38:15
SPEAKER_00: So that could be the winner.
• 38:17
SPEAKER_00: Goxie leading the leading the choir.
• 38:19
SPEAKER_00: Goxie next to the next to the screen behind.
• 38:21
  SPEAKER_00: I've got his number.

SPEAKER_00: Aaron, mate, we've got a task for you.
• 38:25
  SPEAKER_00: Who's this?
• 38:25
  SPEAKER_00: Fuck off.
• 38:28
SPEAKER_00: So that's that's what I'm pitching for uh musical guests at the Brisbane 22, Brisbane 22, Brisbane 32 Olympic Games.
• 38:36
SPEAKER_00: Organizers, give me a call, we'll chat.
• 38:38

• 38:39
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 38:40
SPEAKER_00: You've got the budget, you tight asses.
• 38:43
SPEAKER_00: I like that from you, Maxwell.
• 38:44
  SPEAKER_00: Thanks, mate.
• 38:45
  SPEAKER_00: Good like future thinking.
• 38:46
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 38:47
  SPEAKER_00: Um mate, I plan.
• 38:48
  SPEAKER_00: You know?
• 38:50
  SPEAKER_00: Preventing piss poor performance.
• 38:52
  SPEAKER_00: It's good.
• 38:53
  SPEAKER_00: Thanks.
• 38:53
SPEAKER_00: Anything you want to leave our listeners with?
• 38:56
  SPEAKER_00: Uh listeners.
• 38:57
SPEAKER_00: Which sports should we add to the 2032 Brazil Olympics?
• 39:00
SPEAKER_00: Because Sam just mentioned cricket.
• 39:02
SPEAKER_00: There was a lot of like light chatter about AFL, but I feel like it's it's we we can't bring in something where we're the really the only country that plays it.
• 39:08
  SPEAKER_00: Like Ireland.
• 39:09
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I don't think that's gonna work.
• 39:11
  SPEAKER_00: But that's so hard.
• 39:11
  SPEAKER_00: No, I think that's such a flog move.
• 39:13
  SPEAKER_00: Rugby league, probably.
• 39:15
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but we like there's a couple of countries that have a good go at it, but that we're still pretty much the powerhouse there.
• 39:20
SPEAKER_00: And also, you can't have rugby sevens and then also bring in rugby league.
• 39:23
  SPEAKER_00: Yes, you can.
• 39:24
SPEAKER_00: It's our Olympics, we can do whatever the fuck we want.
• 39:26
SPEAKER_00: I think we got like a squash.
• 39:29
  SPEAKER_00: Padell.
• 39:30
SPEAKER_00: Oh, a bit of pedel, a bit of pickleball, if you will, Sam.
• 39:34
SPEAKER_00: Just play tennis, you fucking gabin.
• 39:36
  SPEAKER_00: It's not that hard.
• 39:38
  SPEAKER_00: Anyway.
• 39:39
  SPEAKER_00: Alright, well.
