- 0:21her chicken coop along with all her chickens.
- 0:27Hey, everybody. Good morning from the chicken
- 0:30coop. So yesterday I had a very
- 0:33interesting conversation with a young gentleman that I coached
- 0:36in his early 20s. And he actually was going over
- 0:41some stuff that we've been working on.
- 0:43And he was talking about how he was setting some goals as he's
- 0:48headed back into college and he's setting some goals.
- 0:51And he said to me. Can I ask you a question?
- 0:54I said sure. Nicholas, do you think my goals
- 0:57are not big enough? Do you think my goals are not
- 1:00substantial enough? And I thought, wow, that's an
- 1:04interesting question that he's asking me this about his goals.
- 1:07So are you asking me that because you think your goals are
- 1:10not substantial enough? Or are you asking me that
- 1:12because someone else said it to you or you genuinely like?
- 1:17Concerned that about my opinion on this.
- 1:20And he said, well, I I guess it's like I'm trying to
- 1:22determine if I'm pushing myself hard enough.
- 1:26And I thought, wow, isn't this so true that we all stop and ask
- 1:30these questions of ourselves and sometimes we don't recognize
- 1:34like what we're actually asking ourselves.
- 1:36So think of it like this. If I have a goal, and I know
- 1:40it's important to me to take, to have that goal take place.
- 1:44And I know that I'm driven by it, and it's something that's
- 1:49like a burning desire of mine. I will wake up early, I will go
- 1:54to bed later, I will work on Saturdays.
- 1:57I will do the things that I need to do to make it happen because
- 2:00it's a part of something that is burning inside of me.
- 2:03Like, I really want this to happen if it's a mediocre piece
- 2:08of it or I'm doing it for the wrong reasons.
- 2:12I'm not going to have those things.
- 2:14So I asked him, I said, well, only you can determine this.
- 2:17You have to make a decision about what it means to you so
- 2:19you can understand exactly what's happening for yourself.
- 2:23Like, are you driven by any pause?
- 2:25And he was like, I guess it's an interesting question because I
- 2:28thought I was, but I'm questioning if it's enough
- 2:31because I don't know how quickly this should happen and it's not
- 2:35a question of timing when we have these things, it's a
- 2:38question of are. Overall intensity of emotion
- 2:43around things. Because if our emotion is not
- 2:45present, we're not going to make it happen.
- 2:47If our excitement is not present, we're not going to make
- 2:49it happen. We're going to give up.
- 2:51We're going to let it go. We're not going to push
- 2:52ourselves to the the unreasonableness that it takes
- 2:56sometimes to make things happen. When I was writing the Who's
- 3:00Driving Your Bus book, I worked on that nonstop.
- 3:04Like nonstop. For and I don't write books
- 3:07normally, so let me be very clear about that.
- 3:10I lock myself away and I don't. When I get motivated and I'm
- 3:13going to do it, it just all comes out of me at once.
- 3:16And I was done with the first draft of that book in a week and
- 3:20I know it sounds crazy, but it was just boom out.
- 3:26And then I didn't like it, and I threw it away.
- 3:27And I did it again. Couple weeks later and boom, I
- 3:30didn't like it and I threw it away.
- 3:32And then the third time I did it, it was the same thing except
- 3:34it came out even quicker and I liked it.
- 3:36And then I was able to edit it and have it, you know, taken.
- 3:39I passed it over to my husband and he edits it and we go from
- 3:42there. But the point is the drive was
- 3:45present. So it shifts everything.
- 3:48It makes everything slightly different when you have that
- 3:51intensity as a part of it because you know you're willing
- 3:54to do whatever. So I had to.
- 3:58Explain to him. You have to understand your
- 4:01level of commitment to it. Not just saying the words, not
- 4:05just giving Idlib service, but actually emotionally, what is
- 4:09the level of commitment you have to it?
- 4:11You know, creating this whole podcast, the chickens, getting
- 4:15their whole environment set up, that was a major commitment to
- 4:20setting them up and getting it done, and then a longterm
- 4:23commitment. But I've never minded it.
- 4:25Not for five seconds, because to me.
- 4:29This is as I sit out here on their stuff this morning and
- 4:32listening to them. And I mean, this is just my
- 4:34happy place and it's not for everybody, right, But it's mine.
- 4:38But the goal of it was easy to put into play because I was so
- 4:44emotionally committed. So if you're sitting there and
- 4:48you're wondering why some of your goals aren't happening.
- 4:51You have to go back and check in with yourself as to how
- 4:54emotionally committed am I to this?
- 4:56Am I? Am I just saying the words or am
- 4:58I actually emotionally committed?
- 5:01Am I in this place where there's no question I am committed to
- 5:06it? Because I'm telling you, there
- 5:08is a tremendous difference between trying to make a goal
- 5:11that's just a goal, and trying to make a goal that you're
- 5:14emotionally committed to. It's like night and day.
- 5:17The things fall into place. It becomes magic.
- 5:20It becomes the effortless part of it because you're working it
- 5:24on both levels. You're working it on the
- 5:26manifesting level and you're in the world of the ethereal, and
- 5:29then you're working it on the the reality level because you're
- 5:34doing the tasks, but they're aligned and they move you
- 5:38quicker. So really check in and ask
- 5:40yourself that question if you're stuck, if you're at that point
- 5:43in the year we're considering like, OK, some new goals for the
- 5:45end of the year. Check in with yourself.
- 5:48Get very aligned with that, because that will make a
- 5:51tremendous difference. All right, my friends, I hope
- 5:54you have a blessed day and I will see you tomorrow.
- 5:56Bye.
