- 0:14Speaker 2: As we go to the phones, because it's your turn
- 0:16Speaker 2: to be heard? What should be your talk radio station
- 0:21Speaker 2: seven ten wor the Voice of New York. It certainly
- 0:24Speaker 2: is in the Sleeper family now, And don't be a
- 0:27Speaker 2: massacres and go back to WABC always blaming Curtis for
- 0:32Speaker 2: Zorah Mandamian, always bashing Curtis. I mean, that's what they do.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Let's go to the phones if we can. And first
- 0:40Speaker 2: up in the queue is Diane, who is calling from Summit.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Your turn to be heard here on seven ten wor Diane, Oh.
- 0:49Speaker 3: Thank you, Curtis. I'm so grateful to speak with you.
- 0:53Speaker 3: I cannot tell you how thold them with emotion.
- 0:57Speaker 2: I am.
- 0:59Speaker 3: I'm grateful to speak with you. I love to listen
- 1:03Speaker 3: to you, and what you did speaking of Bernhard was
- 1:07Speaker 3: so touching. However, I don't want to speak in an
- 1:11Speaker 3: emotional fashion. I have a few quick comments to make.
- 1:17Speaker 3: It was terribly disturbing, disgraceful, and disappointing that the previous
- 1:24Speaker 3: a W place you worked, Uh this you know regarding
- 1:30Speaker 3: you that spoke about you after you've been such a
- 1:35Speaker 3: royal person. I listened to you regularly. You are you
- 1:42Speaker 3: would have good best manor you are very intelligent. Codis
- 1:48Speaker 3: I really speak my heart? Would I tell you how
- 1:52Speaker 3: much I admire you. I'm trying to be so emotional,
- 1:56Speaker 3: but no, no.
- 1:58Speaker 2: You have you have a to be emotional again. Feel
- 2:03Speaker 2: free speaking.
- 2:04Speaker 3: I'm speaking for the community. I'm speaking for many people right.
- 2:09Speaker 2: But I want to focus not so much on me.
- 2:14Speaker 2: I'm still alive and well, at least I think for today.
- 2:19Speaker 2: With all the people whould love to kill me, that's
- 2:21Speaker 2: been my history. It's okay. That's why I love that
- 2:25Speaker 2: edm song bunt Oh. I enjoy. I enjoy this day,
- 2:30Speaker 2: another day of life. It's the best day of my life.
- 2:33Speaker 2: It is because I'm alive. I have the best wife
- 2:37Speaker 2: you could ever have, Nancy. I have our cats, and
- 2:41Speaker 2: I have so many people who've grown up listening to
- 2:43Speaker 2: me for thirty five years in talk c radio, and
- 2:45Speaker 2: all the people that I've reached out and touched all
- 2:47Speaker 2: over the world. No, no, this is the tribute to
- 2:51Speaker 2: Bernard McGirk, who is not here. And if you want
- 2:55Speaker 2: to honor bern All McGirk as I do every year,
- 2:59Speaker 2: as you should do. The way you can do it
- 3:02Speaker 2: every day is to warn men forty five and older
- 3:06Speaker 2: to get that simple prick of the finger that psa
- 3:09Speaker 2: blood test that saves lives. I had stage four prostate cancer.
- 3:14Speaker 2: You hear from doctor Gil Leiderman often after other doctors
- 3:20Speaker 2: have not done well for their patients, he oftentimes can
- 3:24Speaker 2: patch people up and give them life where they would
- 3:27Speaker 2: have normally had a horrendous death like Bernard McGirt did.
- 3:33Speaker 2: So keep that in mind. That's how you honor the
- 3:36Speaker 2: memory of Bernard McGirt, to make sure that doesn't happen
- 3:39Speaker 2: to other men. A simple blood test and he would
- 3:41Speaker 2: still be alive. He was the healthiest of all of us.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Over there at WABC, let's go over Canon Chris Is
- 3:48Speaker 2: calling from Beth Page. Your turn to be heard here
- 3:51Speaker 2: at seven to ten WOR Chris take Curtis.
- 3:55Speaker 4: I used to listen to and call you a lot
- 3:58Speaker 4: on the other station, obviously, and I love you, You're great,
- 4:01Speaker 4: But I have to push back on a couple of things,
- 4:03Speaker 4: if you, if you will let me. First of all,
- 4:06Speaker 4: I listen to Sid all the time. He used to
- 4:08Speaker 4: have you on like five days a week. These guys
- 4:10Speaker 4: were the best together. I don't know what the heck happened.
- 4:13Speaker 4: And to this day Sid will even say he goes,
- 4:16Speaker 4: I love Curtis. I'm not you know, I'm sorry that
- 4:19Speaker 4: this election got between you guys. It's it's just it's
- 4:22Speaker 4: lunacy to me that this has happened. You were tremendous.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Well, you have to understand. You have to understand that
- 4:29Speaker 2: all when he was saying that Testio, remember the godfather
- 4:33Speaker 2: whoever arranged the meeting is the trader. That's Sid who
- 4:40Speaker 2: all along was contacting people to vote for Cuomo, encouraging
- 4:47Speaker 2: people to jump from my campaign to the Cuomo campaign. Look,
- 4:51Speaker 2: I have all the evidence. There's no doubt about it.
- 4:54Speaker 2: He had had five lunches, five dinners with Andrew CMO.
- 4:58Speaker 2: What's he having dinner for? That's how Andrew Cuomo Andrew
- 5:02Speaker 2: evil eyed operated. I knew that Sid is a novice
- 5:07Speaker 2: to politics. He never dealt with politics before. He is
- 5:10Speaker 2: a sports guy, and then he became a CMO sexual
- 5:15Speaker 2: big time. Oh take time. And the reason that I
- 5:20Speaker 2: was on five times a week is I would not
- 5:23Speaker 2: ever consider being his partner because he needs one, He
- 5:25Speaker 2: desperately needs one. Lu Rafino does a great job as
- 5:28Speaker 2: his wingman. The board operator was great with Imans. That
- 5:32Speaker 2: keeps him a little more focused. But when he got.
- 5:35Speaker 5: Rid of Andrew Giuliani was trying, you can't see you
- 5:40Speaker 5: can't disagree with Sid Now I could, because obviously I
- 5:45Speaker 5: have more credit, I'm older, I have more experience than Siddy.
- 5:48Speaker 2: But others couldn't. He couldn't. So I got on once
- 5:51Speaker 2: a week and then they said, well, do it twice
- 5:54Speaker 2: a week, three times a week, four times a week,
- 5:57Speaker 2: five times a week. No problem, he needed that. I
- 6:01Speaker 2: didn't mind doing the extra radio. Let does Barney talk?
- 6:06Speaker 2: You know, sit in friends, I love you, you love me?
- 6:10Speaker 2: And then, my god, you can predict what the program
- 6:12Speaker 2: is each and every day. I can tell all of you.
- 6:18Speaker 2: If Bernard McGirk had survived as prostate cancer, like luckily
- 6:23Speaker 2: I had stage four, what happened at WABC to me
- 6:27Speaker 2: would never have happened. Bernard McGirk a man of honor.
- 6:32Speaker 2: You couldn't be any more loyal than Bernard. Look at
- 6:35Speaker 2: all those years with Imus, Look at all those years
- 6:37Speaker 2: he kept that program together. Look at all those years
- 6:43Speaker 2: that he would be beaten down each and every day
- 6:46Speaker 2: by Imus, who was a monster. And then he'd be
- 6:50Speaker 2: the one to rally Charles McCord and Rob Bartlett and
- 6:55Speaker 2: Lurefino and the other contributors and say no, no, no,
- 6:59Speaker 2: let's let's focus for another day. And he would do
- 7:02Speaker 2: all the heavy lifting. He would do all the show prep,
- 7:05Speaker 2: just like he did for the brand new show Bernard
- 7:07Speaker 2: McGirk and Sid Roseberg. Let's sit he now. He thought
- 7:12Speaker 2: he didn't need anybody. He does. You can't just do
- 7:16Speaker 2: an I and Me show. You gotta do the work,
- 7:20Speaker 2: and not just with your friends. You have to deal
- 7:23Speaker 2: with your foes. Let's go if we can to Bob,
- 7:26Speaker 2: who's calling from Perth? Hand boy, your turn to be
- 7:30Speaker 2: heard here on seven ten wor Bobby.
- 7:34Speaker 6: Good morning, Curtage. How are you sir? Happy new year?
- 7:37Speaker 6: Do you so? Sir?
- 7:39Speaker 2: Oh? Thank you, thank you, it's been greater. Had a
- 7:41Speaker 2: two week run here substituting for the best in talk radio,
- 7:45Speaker 2: Mark Sabone and can't get any better than that.
- 7:49Speaker 6: And I also know a good friend of yours that
- 7:52Speaker 6: used to do Elvison Personeder dear elvis Or Daniels.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Oh yes, Paul, lifelong and a good Polish American too,
- 8:04Speaker 2: I might.
- 8:04Speaker 6: Add absolutely yes, he is definitely well. Anyway, I want
- 8:09Speaker 6: to say, what is uh the airplane, the helicopter pilot
- 8:16Speaker 6: in Poko gonna do bet the outer bridge, which, uh
- 8:20Speaker 6: you know how how bad that is? They picked every
- 8:24Speaker 6: other thing, but they can't pick the outer bridge, the.
- 8:27Speaker 2: Outer bridge crossing. How many people over the years have
- 8:32Speaker 2: done the hop skipping a jump? You know what that is?
- 8:35Speaker 2: Is he they start out in Brooklyn, they cross of Arizona,
- 8:39Speaker 2: they go to the south shore of Staten Island, then
- 8:42Speaker 2: across the outer Bridge crossing go down to Manalapana, Jersey Shore.
- 8:46Speaker 2: Next stop might be Pennsylvania, Florida, Georgia, Texas, Tennessee. Parts
- 8:51Speaker 2: are them? It all starts with the outer bridge crossing.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Are there? Right?
- 9:00Speaker 4: Oh?
- 9:00Speaker 2: Let me tell you something. I just want you to
- 9:03Speaker 2: keep that focus. I know there are many many callers
- 9:06Speaker 2: blazing away there, blazing away. Please at the start of
- 9:12Speaker 2: the new year, sink back to all the greats in
- 9:16Speaker 2: this sting of ours that we love so much. Talk
- 9:18Speaker 2: radio from Barry Gray to Bob Grant to Barry Farbird
- 9:24Speaker 2: and Samuels to Bernard McGirk all, the people who paved
- 9:30Speaker 2: the way. None of them, though, suffered like Bernard McGirk suffered.
- 9:37Speaker 2: You just have no idea what it was like to
- 9:39Speaker 2: be in the Imus cage in the morning. He had
- 9:44Speaker 2: to deal with that monster, and then he had to
- 9:48Speaker 2: prepare the show. He had to keep don Imus going.
- 9:51Speaker 2: And then when his dream came true, instead of saying
- 9:55Speaker 2: what so many in our business, well no, no, no, no,
- 9:57Speaker 2: I want to do it my own, he said, I
- 9:58Speaker 2: want to bring up my friends Sid Rose Murty from Florida,
- 10:01Speaker 2: who had lost every job down there, and Adjustment fired
- 10:04Speaker 2: from another radio station. I don't know why, but they
- 10:08Speaker 2: were a great partnership. Twenty sixteen. Sid was for Hillary
- 10:14Speaker 2: really legitimately, and Bernald McGirk was a Trumper before many
- 10:20Speaker 2: became Trumpers. And then when Sid thought it could be
- 10:26Speaker 2: his own, watch out the long knives come out. Oh
- 10:31Speaker 2: by the way, he's planning to move to Florida now,
- 10:33Speaker 2: oh yeah, he lives out there in the Irish rival area.
- 10:36Speaker 2: He's ready to sell his house. Hey, look, God bless
- 10:39Speaker 2: all of you out there. If you don't want to
- 10:41Speaker 2: stay in the Land of Mondamie, I get it. That's
- 10:44Speaker 2: what America is about. You get to move to the
- 10:47Speaker 2: places you want to go, but don't pretend you're gonna
- 10:50Speaker 2: stay and fight for what you know is right. Improve
- 10:53Speaker 2: don't move. You gotta prove it. You gotta be a
- 10:58Speaker 2: man of honor. You come into the world when nothing,
- 11:00Speaker 2: you go out with nothing. God bless Bernard McGirk. He
- 11:06Speaker 2: lived as a man of honor. He died as a
- 11:11Speaker 2: man of honor.
