- Gary: Have you ever stayed quiet about what you believe because you were afraid of how people would see you? In Matthew chapter 10, verse 33, Jesus says, Whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven. He was preparing his disciples to face pressure and opposition. He knew there would be moments when following him would cost him comfort, safety, and/or approval. This verse asks us to examine what we do when our faith is challenged. Do we stand by what we believe or hide to fit in? And are we living those beliefs in a way that others can actually see? That doesn't mean that we need to force our faith into every single conversation or treat people who disagree disrespectfully. It means we don't have to pretend that we believe something different just to win approval. We can speak honestly, act with compassion, and stay grounded when it would be easier to just go along with the crowd. Free thinking means being honest with ourselves. Is my silence a thoughtful choice or am I afraid of being judged? And does the way I live reflect the faith that I say matters to me? Following Jesus isn't about never stumbling. Peter denied knowing him and was later restored. The invitation is to return to what you believe and live it with courage. Good morning. I am Gary Hults with North Man Coaching.
