- 5:00How do you define what you do for a living?
- 5:12Well, I would say I'm a performance coach.
- 5:16I specialize in networking leadership communication and dating.
- 5:20And the way I like to describe it is,
- 5:22if you can't replace your job,
- 5:24your social circle, and your girlfriend in 15 minutes,
- 5:27then you probably don't have enough abundance.
- 5:30And so a lot of people, they don't.
- 5:31They just kind of, they deal with whatever their job gives them.
- 5:35They hang out with whichever group of people will accept them,
- 5:39and they settle for whatever partner they can get
- 5:42because they don't have abundance.
- 5:44Other ulterior alternatively,
- 5:48what the other thing I'd like to teach is,
- 5:50there's a certain mid-tier level of status
- 5:53that people can attain now that wasn't available,
- 5:57probably when you and I were growing up.
- 5:58When I was growing up, back in the 80s,
- 6:00you were Arnold Schwarzenegger,
- 6:02or you were Mike Tyson, or you were Michael Jordan,
- 6:04or you were Ronald Reagan, or whoever,
- 6:07you were like 10 out of 10 level famous.
- 6:09You were Hulk Hogan, right?
- 6:11Or you were nobody.
- 6:12You were basically just the gender.
- 6:13There was no difference between you and the gender.
- 6:15There was a 10 out of 10 level of fame and then a zero.
- 6:18But because of social media,
- 6:20there's like a one out of 10, a two out of 10.
- 6:22So like, you say some of these big streamers
- 6:24who make a lot of money, they're like a five out of 10 famous.
- 6:27They're not as famous as the rock,
- 6:28but they're still pretty famous.
- 6:30There's like the personal injury attorney in your city
- 6:33who's got the billboards up everywhere.
- 6:35He's like a three out of 10 famous.
- 6:37My old point is, if you're like a one out of 10,
- 6:39where you go out to different social events
- 6:41and everyone's at least seen your face and know your name,
- 6:43which is very, very easy to do,
- 6:46then getting a job, finding employees
- 6:48and finding someone to date becomes,
- 6:50it's on easy mode.
- 6:51It's really, really simple.
- 6:53And I also teach you how to do that
- 6:55through concepts and networking
- 6:56that weren't available to us not even 20 years ago.
- 6:59Even walking through your own journey and your own story,
- 7:02maybe for people that do not understand
- 7:06like an Oxford dictionary definition of status.
- 7:10Because that's a, like you're in your world
- 7:13and that word makes so much sense to you
- 7:15for a lot of people.
- 7:16They're like, what does that mean?
- 7:17I have to have more Instagram followers like,
- 7:19think somebody who, yeah, they don't get what status means.
- 7:23That's the issue.
- 7:24Yeah, so the reason why there's this confusion,
- 7:26Scott is because people think status is real
- 7:29and it's not.
- 7:29Status is never, ever real.
- 7:32So what I mean by that is status can only be perceived.
- 7:35I'll use an example, Chris Williamson,
- 7:38who's got one of the biggest podcasts in the world.
- 7:40How did he start off?
- 7:41He was on a reality TV show.
- 7:43Was that real Scott?
- 7:45On reality TV shows, is that all authentic?
- 7:47Or do they tell you what to say?
- 7:49What do you think that is?
- 7:50So he took what we would consider to be fake fame
- 7:54and he transmuted that into real status
- 7:57where he made real money.
- 7:58So was the status fake?
- 8:00All status is perceived.
- 8:03It's very difficult for a lot of people
- 8:05who live in a very logical meritocracy,
- 8:08like the meritocracy mindset,
- 8:10which by the way inside of my company,
- 8:11I live in a meritocracy mindset.
- 8:13If my, if people who work with me perform better,
- 8:16I reward them with more money and responsibility.
- 8:18But the world doesn't work like that
- 8:20because the reality situation is,
- 8:22you know, Logan Paul went and ripped a bunch of people off
- 8:25with some shill coin and he's still more famous than you.
- 8:29Right? We had a man transition to become a woman,
- 8:32run over somebody, kill them,
- 8:33and then four months later named Woman of the Year
- 8:36after winning a decathlon in 1976.
- 8:39Like, we don't care, Caitlin Jenner,
- 8:41he's still more famous than you.
- 8:43We, like, OJ Simpson, I had a conversation with him
- 8:45at a, I was at law office now bumped into one time
- 8:47and he told me he was getting offers for millions of dollars
- 8:51to host a fantasy football podcast.
- 8:53And he stabbed his wife and another guy 56 times allegedly.
- 8:57And he's still more famous than you.
- 8:59You think that status comes from a meritocracy.
- 9:02It comes from you earning it because you were good.
- 9:05You were a good little boy.
- 9:06And that's just not how the world works.
- 9:08And so a lot of times what,
- 9:09well, there's a big conflict a lot of times
- 9:11when people, like, first find out about my program
- 9:13because they can't deny that it works.
- 9:14They just want to deny why it works.
- 9:17And that is they want to believe that status
- 9:19is a stumbling that is imbued upon you by angels and unicorns
- 9:22because you were a good little boy.
- 9:23And that's just not how the world works.
- 9:25It's just what you'll find out in reality is like,
- 9:28you wanted Megan Fox and Megan Fox chose machine gun Kelly,
- 9:32the bad boy.
- 9:33You, you, when we were growing up, bro,
- 9:35it was the Iron Sheik and Hulk Hogan.
- 9:37We knew who the good guys were and the bad guys.
- 9:38It was Rocky and Ivan Drago.
- 9:40We knew who the good guys were and we knew who the bad guys were.
- 9:42And the world doesn't work like that anymore.
- 9:44The world is this, it's funny.
- 9:46I use wrestlers all the time
- 9:48because there used to be good guy wrestlers and bad guy wrestlers.
- 9:50And now we don't know who the good guys are, the bad guys aren't anymore.
- 9:53No, it's it all up.
- 9:54And when you think about it, like,
- 9:56when you think about like Donald Trump's a great example,
- 9:58he gets bullied and then he bullies back.
- 10:00So he's either good guy or the bat is like,
- 10:02these, these things have become so androgynous.
- 10:05And the only thing that matters is like, how many eyeballs you get
- 10:08that hawk to a girl made a video about a sexual act
- 10:12and became it for a while had a bigger podcast than Joe Rogan.
- 10:16Look it up if you don't believe me.
- 10:18It's not, there's no good guy status or bad guy status.
- 10:20But if you had that much status,
- 10:22if you had that much fame or infamy,
- 10:24I don't even think infamy is a thing anymore.
- 10:26If you had that, you could become fabulously wealthy from that.
- 10:30And I can give you 100 examples of people.
- 10:32Again, Jake Paul went around, dab, dab, dab,
- 10:36just making these silly vine videos and got paid $40 million
- 10:39for a sham fight with Mike Tyson where he could barely move.
- 10:42He's 57 years old, like $40 million.
- 10:45What did you do this week for $40 million?
- 10:48As is people have made for,
- 10:49I haven't made 40 million this week, yeah, bro, yeah.
- 10:52As my point, it's like, it's like, but people don't,
- 10:55people, so I think people, what happens is initially,
- 10:58they tell me I'm wrong.
- 10:59And then begrudgingly, they tell me I'm right.
- 11:00It's very much like Galileo talking to the Pope in the 16th century,
- 11:03explaining to him that the earth goes around the sun.
- 11:06What did the Pope do?
- 11:06He put him on house arrest for the rest of his life.
- 11:08It's very simple, like in the beginning, you don't believe me.
- 11:11And then later on, you're like, well,
- 11:12I kind of have to believe because everything he's saying is true,
- 11:14but it's still not right that we should only,
- 11:17it still should be a meritocracy.
- 11:18And people just like, they're holding on,
- 11:20they're gnashing their teeth and clinching their buttole.
- 11:22No, it has to be a meritocracy.
- 11:25Only the good people win who work the hardest.
- 11:27And the reality is, if you have a bunch of status,
- 11:30regardless if it's a good guy status, good status is like,
- 11:33I'm a cardiologist, I've performed several hard surgeries.
- 11:38I've patented a certain type of hard surgery
- 11:41that saves people's lives.
- 11:42That's triple good status.
- 11:44That guy goes on to run for mayor.
- 11:45That's an incredible form of status.
- 11:48You're a benefit to the world.
- 11:49Everyone will agree, you're a wonderful person.
- 11:51And then there's the guy who does prank videos
- 11:54on rumble in YouTube and pranks his girlfriend
- 11:58and makes, does it like exploding whatever's in the toilet
- 12:01and just runs his car off the road
- 12:04and makes these stupid videos
- 12:05and benefits the world in no way whatsoever
- 12:07other than making a couple people laugh.
- 12:09And he makes just as much money as the cardiologist.
- 12:12And until you can wrap your head around that,
- 12:15you're always going to have trouble and be behind,
- 12:17especially as an entrepreneur, especially as an entrepreneur.
- 12:21Because the entrepreneur, what he wants to do
- 12:23is that you use logic reason and accountability
- 12:27to develop your product or your service
- 12:29and you used it to solve a problem.
- 12:31And you did so effectively.
- 12:33And so you were paid adequately
- 12:34or you were paid abundantly for solving that problem.
- 12:38And so now you think that your marketing
- 12:39has to reflect your logic,
- 12:41reason and accountability, but it doesn't.
- 12:43Because people will come out just say crazy stuff
- 12:45in these ads and make more money than you.
- 12:47And it's very frustrating
- 12:49until you understand the first thing I said,
- 12:51which is that status is only perceived.
- 12:53And when you can grasp that that monster,
- 12:55you understand how to control it,
- 12:57just the sky is the limit on how much you can grow
- 13:00as an individual.
- 13:01Like even the bad publicity that some people get,
- 13:04I'm good friends with Tai Lopez.
- 13:06How many times I've heard Tai Lopez has done Tai Lopez
- 13:09is over Tai Lopez is a scam.
- 13:10Can't tell if it's all, yeah.
- 13:11Yeah, he's canceled all this kind of stuff.
- 13:13And then I just saw it like I get hang out with him
- 13:15and it's just like nothing but celebrities at his parties
- 13:18and it's like there's all these people.
- 13:19I was like, I thought he was canceled.
- 13:20And none of it turns out to be true.
- 13:23And let's just say every bad thing
- 13:25that people say about Tai is true, say it's all true.
- 13:27He's still gonna make more money this year than you are.
- 13:29So what, how does that make you feel?
- 13:31Oh, it makes you feel bad and the world's not fair.
- 13:33I got bad news for you, man.
- 13:34The world is only moving in that direction.
- 13:37I saw a program, men of action,
- 13:39that I can 100% stand behind, but not only that,
- 13:42I put 200 video testimonials from my clients
- 13:46that are satisfied from doing it.
- 13:47And you'd be surprised
- 13:48because the logic, reason and accountability part of my brain
- 13:51is like, well, if you just go look at the 200 testimonials
- 13:53and the 3000 people who have gone through the course,
- 13:56you should immediately say, well, obviously this course works.
- 13:58And of course they doesn't work like that, does it Scott?
- 14:00There's just a bunch of people,
- 14:01there's like still naysayers and deniers
- 14:03because I use reason, accountability and logic
- 14:06then therefore it doesn't work out.
- 14:08But then some other guy comes out with some other course
- 14:11and I'm not to say these people are bad,
- 14:12but there's these self-improvement courses
- 14:14where it's like feel good about yourself.
- 14:16You're enough, say affirmations in the mirror
- 14:19and you'll just be enough.
- 14:20And these people make two orders of magnitude more revenue
- 14:25than I do in my company and they're selling nothing.
- 14:29Nothing and they're crushing it.
- 14:31But why is it is because they have more status than me?
- 14:34It's just true.
- 14:34It's just a function of status.
- 14:36That's what there has to be this like spectrum of
- 14:38or this continuum of what?
- 14:40So yes, you can have good status, bad status.
- 14:44You can be the most ethical entrepreneur
- 14:47and build a company and be successful that way
- 14:49and that like to your point of the cardiologist.
- 14:52I mean, yeah, there's definitely a sad
- 14:55status where you're just in an asshole.
- 14:56Is Mark Zuckerberg an ethical entrepreneur?
- 14:59He stole your information.
- 15:00Is he an ethical entrepreneur?
- 15:01No, I don't think he's a,
- 15:02I don't think he's the avatar of ethical entrepreneur,
- 15:04but he would seem to have good status.
- 15:06My question is, if he needed to get in front of venture capitalist
- 15:10or you did Scott, you've been an ethical entrepreneur Scott
- 15:13and he hasn't, who can get in front of venture capitalist faster?
- 15:16You, me or Mark Zuckerberg, you, me or Joe Rogan,
- 15:20you, me or you, me or Jake Paul.
- 15:24Jake Paul can get in front of venture capitalist faster
- 15:26than 99% of the entrepreneurs you know.
- 15:29And he has nothing to do with venture capital.
- 15:31He's just more famous than you.
- 15:32And it sucks that the world is like that,
- 15:34but that's just the way the world is.
- 15:37So where does, where does like conscious and reputation
- 15:42and all of this?
- 15:43Cause now people are listening to this.
- 15:44Obviously, a super sort of provocative point of view.
- 15:47And I don't, I don't disagree with you at all.
- 15:50People will have a hard time reconciling,
- 15:52especially people that are young,
- 15:53starting out, they're like, I don't want to,
- 15:55well, I think, I think it's old.
- 15:57No, I don't think it's young people.
- 15:58Young people actually have very, like,
- 16:00like, look at the way young people like crave attention
- 16:02on social media.
- 16:03I don't think it's young people at all.
- 16:04It's older people who have a problem with this.
- 16:06Cause they're used to the Soviet Union
- 16:08versus the United States.
- 16:09They're used to the good guys versus the bad guys.
- 16:11They're the ones who have the biggest problem with this.
- 16:14When I deal with older entrepreneurs,
- 16:15those are the ones I have an issue with.
- 16:17Young entrepreneurs, they sit there
- 16:18and they watch Grant Cardone,
- 16:20who's done, who, who sits there and like talks trash
- 16:23about his competition on different podcasts.
- 16:25And he's a billionaire.
- 16:27He floods the market with his ads.
- 16:29Have you seen that one thing where he,
- 16:31that one ad where he's like in a G wagon
- 16:33and he's showing off all of his cars
- 16:34and that, can you imagine how ostentatious?
- 16:37Can you imagine going to Warren Buffett
- 16:40and saying, here's a great way to advertise
- 16:41show all your jets in your car?
- 16:42That old school group of people
- 16:44would look back at him like they're crazy.
- 16:46No, it's very different now.
- 16:48It's like, I actually think it's the younger group
- 16:50of people who get it.
- 16:51They actually understand.
- 16:53It's like the people who have more,
- 16:55who can get more eyeballs on social media,
- 16:57the ones who actually do really well.
- 16:59Yeah, but you're,
- 17:00so I actually think you're not giving yourself
- 17:01enough credit because what you're talking about
- 17:04is, is really just creating provocative content.
- 17:08That, yeah, it's a spiky point of view.
- 17:10No, no, no, but I want to tell you,
- 17:11you're out of my idea and then I know you'll have an answer.
- 17:14But my point is, what the Paul Brothers do,
- 17:17what Grant Cardone does, they're not like evil people.
- 17:21Some people I'm sure think they're not great,
- 17:22but they're not evil people.
- 17:24Being an asshole on social media is very different
- 17:26than being like doing illegal shit
- 17:29and building a business that way.
- 17:31So I think there is still a line between good and evil.
- 17:34There's, there's shades of, of course, good.
- 17:37Of course, yes.
- 17:38That's what I know.
- 17:39Of course, what you're saying is correct.
- 17:40I'm not telling you to be evil.
- 17:42When I'm telling you is to give yourself permission.
- 17:46That's all I'm saying.
- 17:47It's like so many people don't want to take action
- 17:49on social media because they're afraid
- 17:51to give themselves permission,
- 17:53yet we just put a man in office
- 17:55who fucked a porn star while his wife was pregnant
- 17:58and we elected him twice, okay?
- 18:00And I'm not criticizing him because I voted for him too.
- 18:02My point is, you're worried about a meme you were gonna post
- 18:06or an Instagram account you were gonna make
- 18:07or a YouTube video because you cared so much
- 18:10about what the people at work thought about you
- 18:12and your fat aunt that you go see at Thanksgiving every year.
- 18:15By the way, just in case you're wondering,
- 18:16you join my program, this is how you get spoken to every day.
- 18:19Okay, I'm a former US Air Force captain
- 18:22and I worked in counterintelligence for two years
- 18:23and I flew spec ops for five.
- 18:25This is how you will get spoken to.
- 18:26This is how we talk every day.
- 18:28But like you watch this over and over again
- 18:31and I just hear these excuses about,
- 18:32I just care so much about what other people think about you.
- 18:35When I say all this stuff, of course,
- 18:37I don't want you to do any of these things.
- 18:38I don't want you to start a shill coin.
- 18:40I don't want you to sit there and start a,
- 18:43what is the other one that's just complete?
- 18:46Forex, I mean.
- 18:47Forex, yeah, yeah.
- 18:48100% of retail Forex is a scam.
- 18:51There you go, I'll say it.
- 18:52You can come after me, I'll be more than willing
- 18:54to debate you 100%.
- 18:55Not Forex, Forex is not a scam
- 18:57because there actually are sovereign
- 18:58for well funds that need to use it.
- 19:00But 100% of retail Forex is a scam.
- 19:02I say this and people get pissed at me,
- 19:04but it's still true.
- 19:05But now I'll tell you something to do
- 19:06with the amount of money my friends have lost
- 19:08in retail Forex, I'm not disagreeing with you.
- 19:10Yeah, I'm not disagreeing with you.
- 19:12But my point is, do you see what I've done?
- 19:13No, like by doing no, I've taken aside
- 19:16and now I've become a little bit scandalous in here.
- 19:18Even though what I'm saying is objectively true,
- 19:20you wanna know another place where I get like huge hate
- 19:22and I could get hundreds and hundreds of comments,
- 19:24I've debated flat earthers before.
- 19:26One, something that's objectively true,
- 19:28I studied astronomy and college,
- 19:29I know the earth is round and I can prove it.
- 19:31And I sit there and I have a debate with them
- 19:32and I just completely dunk on these guys
- 19:34for like three hours.
- 19:35And I get all these views and comments
- 19:37and all this kind of stuff.
- 19:38And people are like, I don't know why you do this
- 19:40and I'm like, well, look at the algorithm.
- 19:41I just got 100,000 views for this video that I just made.
- 19:44But most people don't wanna take any chances like that.
- 19:46What my point of everything that I just said
- 19:48about good guy status and bad guy status
- 19:50are you giving yourself permission?
- 19:52Or are you listening to the same platitudes
- 19:54over and over again?
- 19:55It's like every time you fall down, you gotta get back up.
- 19:57Have you ever seen some of the stuff
- 19:59that Gary Vaynerchuk writes, some of his tweets?
- 20:03Like I like Gary Vaynerchuk, I'm sure we all do.
- 20:05He's an inspiration to all of us.
- 20:06But his tweets are very much,
- 20:08if you believe in yourself and do you do what you think
- 20:10is right and you stay the course,
- 20:12eventually you'll be successful.
- 20:13And I'm just thinking, if I said some shit like that,
- 20:15nobody would listen and if you said some shit like that,
- 20:18it would get no one would care.
- 20:20No, can you imagine being so famous
- 20:22that all you have to do is like be Alex from Ozzy
- 20:25and just tweet work harder.
- 20:26And then you just get like 5,000 retweets.
- 20:29Can you imagine me?
- 20:30But you know what, we're not.
- 20:31We're not that famous, Scott, we're not.
- 20:33And so for the rest of us,
- 20:34we are going to have to be disruptive.
- 20:36And if we're not disruptive,
- 20:37the world will pass us by and they will forget us.
- 20:40And because of the way the fractal nature,
- 20:42you know, Prado's principle,
- 20:43because of the fractal nature
- 20:44of the way social media works now
- 20:46and the way marketing works
- 20:48that you start to come to this realization very quickly
- 20:50is that you have to do something
- 20:52to separate yourself very quickly,
- 20:54which goes back to my original point.
- 20:55You have to give yourself permission to try different things.
- 20:58And when you do, then you can start to figure out ways
- 21:01to get a leg up on your competition.
- 21:03But if you don't and it's just like,
- 21:05I'm going to be the ethical salesperson
- 21:06and I'm just going to say platitudes over and over again
- 21:08and feel good about myself
- 21:09and tell myself that I'm good enough.
- 21:12Yo, here's the thing.
- 21:13Internally, all of you are watching this.
- 21:14You are enough internally.
- 21:16Externally, someone will take your partner
- 21:18and someone will take your girl.
- 21:20Someone will take your money
- 21:21and someone will take your clients
- 21:22if you don't do anything about it.
- 21:24Sorry, I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this.
- 21:26If I'm the first entrepreneur to tell you
- 21:28that other people are out to get you,
- 21:29I have, especially if you're successful.
- 21:31If you're not successful,
- 21:32you're just starting up,
- 21:32forget everything I'm saying.
- 21:33You've got a while to go.
- 21:34But for those of you who get like a couple million impressions
- 21:37on social media every week,
- 21:38I've got bad news for you.
- 21:40People are going to come after every single part of your life.
- 21:42They will, they're going to make reaction videos
- 21:46about you doing normal life stuff.
- 21:48And when they do so,
- 21:49how are you going to deal with it?
- 21:50Are you going to sit there and deny it?
- 21:52Are you going to block them all?
- 21:53Or are you going to take that new found status,
- 21:58that new found in for me and transmute that
- 22:00into a way to get more clients,
- 22:02in a way to get more business,
- 22:04in a way to improve your business.
- 22:06Because that's what you're going to have to do.
- 22:08And if you just want to ignore it
- 22:09and just say everything that I'm saying is wrong,
- 22:10that's fine.
- 22:11You can keep your head in the sand as long as you want.
- 22:12But there's some of you out there.
- 22:13I'm sure that are watching this right now.
- 22:15That deep down, you know that what I'm saying is true.
- 22:18You know that the guys who make the,
- 22:20we have a personal injury attorney here in Vegas
- 22:23and the guy drives around into $4.3 million
- 22:25Bugatti and puts like hot girls in the passenger seat
- 22:27and he's crushing it.
- 22:29He's crushing, well wait a second.
- 22:30I need a personal injury attorney.
- 22:32I don't need a guy with the Bugatti
- 22:33who has a bunch of hot girls in his car.
- 22:35But why does everyone call him?
- 22:37Because he's famous.
- 22:39And I don't know what.
- 22:40He gets attention, that's it.
- 22:42That's, that's the main thing.
- 22:43The other part that I'm going to tell you
- 22:44as far as entrepreneurship is concerned
- 22:46is the biggest disease you can catch.
- 22:49We call it procrastination,
- 22:50but it's actually something else.
- 22:52It's inaction.
- 22:53It's not procrastination is giving a word,
- 22:56another word to something else.
- 22:57The disease is inaction.
- 22:59My course is called Men of Action
- 23:00because I watch too many people
- 23:02take other self-improvement courses
- 23:04and then they would, they would cry.
- 23:05Oh my God, this life changing.
- 23:07Thank you so much.
- 23:08The giant within, like of whatever.
- 23:10And we take Tony Robbins and it's not Tony Robbins fault
- 23:12because he teaches a really great program.
- 23:13But a lot of people will take his program,
- 23:14feel fucking incredible about themselves
- 23:17and then just go right back to living
- 23:18in their mom's basement being overweight.
- 23:20They won't take any action
- 23:21and not the scary part of my course
- 23:24is I force you to take action.
- 23:26There's a thing in science,
- 23:27we know about in psychology,
- 23:28it's called cognitive behavioral therapy.
- 23:32We use CBT or DBT,
- 23:34dialectical behavioral therapy for people
- 23:36who have like borderline personality disorder.
- 23:38We've seen it's being a very effective treatment.
- 23:40I think for men, the most effective treatment
- 23:42is called behavioral activation therapy,
- 23:45which is basically when you feel depressed,
- 23:47you go to the gym.
- 23:49When you feel depressed, you go take an action
- 23:52and that action then creates dopamine release
- 23:55and you start having rewards in your mind.
- 23:57I think the male brain and the female brain are different
- 24:00and so the way that we treat some of these symptoms
- 24:03for depression or sadness or melancholy is different.
- 24:06I think for men, the one of the main things you have to do
- 24:08is go and take action.
- 24:09Rather than read a book, do a breathing exercise
- 24:11and look in the mirror and tell yourself that you're enough,
- 24:14I think you need to go hit a personal record
- 24:15on the bench press and go talk to a beautiful woman
- 24:17that you would have been afraid to talk to before.
- 24:19I think you do that,
- 24:20you're going to feel a level of happiness
- 24:22that you've never recognized before
- 24:23because that's what your ancestors did
- 24:25in order to survive.
- 24:27And when you do the same thing,
- 24:28you're also going to have that same feeling.
- 24:31So then what is the issue with all of the self-help advice
- 24:35that's out on the internet right now?
- 24:37And I know you probably have 1,000 issues with most of it,
- 24:40but I just want to tie a knot in the status thing
- 24:43because I think that's important.
- 24:44So, and then we'll talk about sort of self-help.
- 24:46We can talk about what men should do.
- 24:48And by the way, in terms of mental health,
- 24:53if I ever get a stressful call, a stressful email,
- 24:55I do go to the gym and I'll go deadlift,
- 24:58I'll go bench, I'll go squat,
- 25:00I'll go kick my own fucking ass.
- 25:01Beat me in there, hold on.
- 25:02God, that sounds like a very traditional masculine answer.
- 25:05You're going to get canceled if you say that too loud.
- 25:07You better be careful, Scott.
- 25:09This is a thing of, I mean, this is,
- 25:11but this has always been how I, how I decompress
- 25:15because that gives me the room to think through the problem.
- 25:17It removes the emotion out of the situation too.
- 25:20Your response is just going to be in that positive way.
- 25:22Way to self it, it removes the emotion.
- 25:24You mean you come up with logical answers dispassionately?
- 25:27You better be careful saying this stuff on the internet, Scott.
- 25:30You are going to get canceled.
- 25:31You better be careful saying stuff like this, bro.
- 25:33You're the American psychological cessation,
- 25:35if they get a hold of you,
- 25:36they're going to get you canceled, buddy, watch out.
- 25:38I think we're in an era of non-cancelation.
- 25:41I think we've got through it a bit.
- 25:42Oh, dude, I hope so.
- 25:43I hope so.
- 25:44I really do, man.
- 25:45When he said there made those promises about,
- 25:47you will no longer have your account taken down for no reason
- 25:49and you're going to get a right to a speedy appeal.
- 25:51I was like, I voted for the right person.
- 25:53As soon as I saw that, as soon as I saw that,
- 25:55it's like, you mean I can tell the truth
- 25:57and I'm not going to get ratioed because of it?
- 25:59That's incredible.
- 26:00No, no, the whole point I was going to make was like,
- 26:04whatever, whatever you're building,
- 26:06whatever attention you're trying to find,
- 26:08you have to have spiky points of view.
- 26:10You have to have an opinion on shit.
- 26:12And listen, you're not going to get canceled.
- 26:17If you're not being a complete fucking asshole,
- 26:19like I know you take it to an extreme to a degree
- 26:22where you're saying you can still build an audience that way.
- 26:25But where you are right now
- 26:28and where 99% of people are building audiences,
- 26:31it's so far, even like a small amount of opinion
- 26:35is uncomfortable for most people.
- 26:37They take a fucking baby step,
- 26:39like put an opinion on anything in your life
- 26:42in your world relevant to what's happening in politics.
- 26:45Just have a fucking opinion.
- 26:47Because if not, who are you, you're vanilla.
- 26:50You're not going to attract anybody.
- 26:52Do you know how hard it is to get leverage on YouTube right now?
- 26:55Very. So start from scratch.
- 26:56Like you have to do something with an incredible cover photo
- 27:00and an incredible title to even get any traction whatsoever.
- 27:04And you have to post consistently.
- 27:05And I just keep reminding people,
- 27:07it's like when you use platitudes,
- 27:09like trust yourself, feel better, trust your intuition.
- 27:12Yo, I don't believe, you're ready here.
- 27:15You can make a clip out of this.
- 27:1695% of you watching this should stop fucking trusting
- 27:19your intuition.
- 27:20It has not led you down the right path.
- 27:22If you are a pilot and you've done 2000 landings,
- 27:25then you get to trust your intuition.
- 27:27Look up the definition of what intuition is.
- 27:30It has to do with domain expertise and lots of experience.
- 27:34If you're a cardiologist and you've cracked open
- 27:36100, like 500 people's chests and actually looked at the heart
- 27:40and be like, oh, there's something wrong here.
- 27:41You get to trust your intuition.
- 27:44If you're a psychologist and you are a psychiatrist
- 27:46and you dealt with maybe 500 people
- 27:48that have had schizophrenia, you get to trust your intuition.
- 27:51The rest of us who have no domain expertise
- 27:54are like, my intuition tells me that I need to start a restaurant
- 27:58that makes paint tacos that are vegan.
- 27:59And like, no, you're doing that for you.
- 28:01That's not your intuition, bro.
- 28:02That's your ego.
- 28:04That's what's going on.
- 28:05Most of you have no right.
- 28:07You have how dare you.
- 28:09You do not have the right to trust your intuition
- 28:12because you don't have the domain expertise to do so.
- 28:15You do have the right to study.
- 28:18You do have the right to become a subject matter expert.
- 28:21You do have that right, which then will lead you
- 28:24to proper intuition.
- 28:25But what happens instead is people who have no clue
- 28:28what they're talking about are just like, follow your passion.
- 28:31Do you think that Wayne Heizingo won't woke up one day
- 28:34when he had a waste management open,
- 28:37your waste management the company and he's like,
- 28:39you know what, I know he was, he's from here.
- 28:41He's from Miami.
- 28:43Yeah.
- 28:44Do you think that Wayne Heizingo was like,
- 28:45you know what, my passion is Scott?
- 28:47I just want to tell you, portapoddies,
- 28:50I've just been wanting to clean shit out of portapoddies
- 28:52my whole life to clean diapers and feces.
- 28:54I've been so excited about creating dump trucks.
- 28:57Do you think that Wayne Heizingo's passion
- 28:59was waste management?
- 29:01Or do you think he solved someone else's problem
- 29:04and made billions of dollars because of it?
- 29:06Again, I want you to think about the attorney Harvey Spector
- 29:09on the show suits.
- 29:10I don't know if you got some of you guys watch the show suits.
- 29:12But what made him so great is not that he's a great litigator.
- 29:15It's that he makes problems go away.
- 29:18If those of you are watching this,
- 29:19if all you do is make problems go away for other people
- 29:23and you can't do that with platitudes,
- 29:24you can only do that with action.
- 29:26If you can just make problems go away from other people,
- 29:29give away as much free stuff as you can
- 29:31and ask for 1% of your audience to buy your product,
- 29:34you will become outrageously wealthy.

- 32:14Status, where does it play into all the other parts
- 32:17of your life?
- 32:18Because even before we press record, I said,
- 32:20one thing that people are really good at doing
- 32:22is excelling in one area.
- 32:24They figure out how to make money.
- 32:26For example, that's, you know, everybody who's entrepreneurial
- 32:29at some point wants to do it to make money
- 32:30even though you can talk about why you should be building
- 32:32a company and all your, you know,
- 32:33other reasons in your own personal nor star.
- 32:35Maybe it isn't money.
- 32:36But they figure out to make money.
- 32:38And then all the other parts of their life fall apart.
- 32:41This is not a hard and fast rule,
- 32:42but it happens more often than not.
- 32:43Where multiple divorces, kids hate them,
- 32:46no health, physical, mental, any of it.
- 32:49And now they haven't figured out how to do anything
- 32:52except make money, which is a great problem to have.
- 32:55But what is, what's the answer to this?
- 32:58Where does status play into this?
- 32:59You're talking about dating multiple women,
- 33:01some people care about that, some people just want.
- 33:04One woman that actually loves them, like the point is,
- 33:07they're fucking up across the board
- 33:08because they've only focused on one thing
- 33:09for the past 20 years.
- 33:11If you guys don't believe me,
- 33:13go check Brittany Renner out.
- 33:15She is the woman who had a baby with PJ Washington,
- 33:18who's the power forward for the Dallas Mavericks.
- 33:20And then wrote a book teaching women,
- 33:22instructing them how to trap wealthy men
- 33:26into having babies with them.
- 33:27Women are out there.
- 33:28If you do not understand
- 33:30intersectional dynamics with women
- 33:31and you've made a lot of money,
- 33:33you don't have game, you have negative game,
- 33:35you are a target, you are below zero.
- 33:38You're actually better off not having any money
- 33:40with women than you are having money
- 33:42and then dealing with women and not understanding them.
- 33:45So you're absolutely right.
- 33:46The other part is the guys, you just get out of shape,
- 33:49out of buddy of mine.
- 33:50Dude, this guy was like a male model
- 33:51when we were in college.
- 33:52He was like a model for JC Penney.
- 33:53He was on the bat's are at.
- 33:54Super good looking dude.
- 33:55He goes, dude, I haven't worked out in five years.
- 33:57He goes, I haven't been to the gym in five years.
- 33:58I'm like, what?
- 34:00That's crazy because that's what happens to us, right?
- 34:03We get really good at a couple areas of our life
- 34:05and then we let other areas of our life go.
- 34:07I work so hard on social dynamics for so long
- 34:11that I actually let my business like not do well.
- 34:13You know, it happens to all of us.
- 34:15We become kind of obsessed.
- 34:17There is never a point in your life
- 34:19where it's too early to actually understand
- 34:22networking communication, leadership and dating.
- 34:25There's never a point.
- 34:26And even if you are someone who is in a committed relationship
- 34:29right now, you're in a marriage.
- 34:30And by the way, everyone's goal is to find,
- 34:33every man's goal is to find a woman who loves them.
- 34:36Even the guys who right now are dating multiple women,
- 34:38eventually the goal is to find someone who loves them.
- 34:40My point has always been,
- 34:42you don't need to be with a bunch of women to do that,
- 34:44but you need a bunch of women to want to be with you.
- 34:46So I teach attraction.
- 34:47That's when it comes to the dating aspect of my program,
- 34:51it's 100% men don't understand concepts in attraction
- 34:55or attraction triggers when it comes to women.
- 34:57And because of that, you see about a third,
- 34:59the bottom third of men right now who are out dating
- 35:03have no options with women whatsoever,
- 35:05about two thirds of men under the age of 30 or single
- 35:08while as one third of women are single
- 35:10and on dating apps, men match with women
- 35:13six out of every 1,000 swipes.
- 35:16Women match out of 100 out of every 1,000 swipes.
- 35:20This is about 16 times more.
- 35:21Tinder right now has nine men for every women on there.
- 35:25Men are in a mode of desperation right now.
- 35:28So a lot of guys are getting good at becoming sound financially,
- 35:32you know, building their business,
- 35:33but when it comes to intersectional dynamics,
- 35:34they like not only have they not been taught anything
- 35:38that's going to help them,
- 35:38they're actually being taught the opposite.
- 35:40You need to earn the right to be vulnerable
- 35:43in front of a woman.
- 35:44And yet they're being told by content creators
- 35:46like Chris GQ Perry, Will Hitchens
- 35:48or Justin Baldoni, they're being taught by these men
- 35:51to go out and be vulnerable to women that they just met
- 35:53and let these women know how you feel.
- 35:55I don't know how much you like them the first time you meet them.
- 35:58And I'm like, that works for the male model.
- 36:00I agree that doesn't work for the five, six Filipino guy
- 36:03who just came over here, you know,
- 36:04from the United States, he's a second generation Filipino.
- 36:07He doesn't have the same ability like the male model
- 36:09to just walk up to women.
- 36:10There are different answers for different men.
- 36:12And if you don't understand these answers,
- 36:14if you're a guy who just isn't classically good looking
- 36:17or doesn't classically have a bunch of status
- 36:18but you have a bunch of money, you are a target.
- 36:23And you either realize that what I'm saying is true now
- 36:25or you're going to very quickly, you are a target.
- 36:29Men who use a money in lieu of attraction
- 36:33are some of the most difficult clients I have to deal with
- 36:36because when I explain to them,
- 36:38this girl that you're talking to didn't stop liking you,
- 36:41she never liked you.
- 36:43It's really hard for their ego to deal with that.
- 36:46Those are some of the most difficult clients that I have.
- 36:47The ones that use money in lieu of ability to be attracted.
- 36:52That is a really difficult thing.
- 36:55But the other one of all the things that I go over my course,
- 36:58the most important thing is fitness.
- 36:59Like physical fitness.
- 37:01You can't, like it really starts with physical fitness.
- 37:03I'm 47 years old and I've never been in better shape
- 37:06in my entire life.
- 37:08You know, I just finished 75 hard.
- 37:10I only eat two meals a day.
- 37:11I do intermittent fasting, cold plunge.
- 37:13I do sauna every single day.
- 37:14I'm in the gym.
- 37:15I do five days splits.
- 37:16I work out seven days a week.
- 37:17I do a paintball like once a week with some of my buddies.
- 37:20It's really high cardio and I play basketball
- 37:22maybe three or four days a week.
- 37:23I do this every day because I understand fitness
- 37:26is going to come first.
- 37:27And then, and then my relationships with other people,
- 37:30my ability to network is going to allow me to build a business
- 37:33which then helps my finance.
- 37:34So remember health, wealth and relationships, right?
- 37:38Those are the three pillars when it comes to self-help.
- 37:42Health is the most important.
- 37:44Relationships are actually the next most important.
- 37:46And then those two then lead to wealth.
- 37:48If all you do is worry about wealth
- 37:50then you have a problem because now it's like,
- 37:52where do I, like, if I lose one of my closures,
- 37:54where do I go?
- 37:55I know where to go because I know Cole Gordon
- 37:57and Jeremy Minor are two of my good friends.
- 37:59I know where to go.
- 38:00I couldn't just call Brad Lee or Tyler as an asset.
- 38:04They're my friends because I worked on relationships first
- 38:07and then afterwards you work on wealth
- 38:09and so that's the way that whole thing works.
- 38:10But I think, one thing I did five years ago
- 38:14was I created the most comprehensive self-help course
- 38:16in the world for men.
- 38:17Everything that we've talked about in this conversation right now
- 38:21is what we teach in the course.
- 38:22It's networking, leadership, relationships, and dating.
- 38:26And so that's the most people that I've found in the space,
- 38:30especially in the dating space,
- 38:31they don't teach your leadership at all.
- 38:33Except like Jaco Willix, the only guy in the space
- 38:35I really think who's truly teaching leadership
- 38:37and the same thing in the entrepreneurial space,
- 38:38they don't really go over leadership
- 38:40and then they also have a bunch of guys
- 38:41who just become targets for predatory women
- 38:46who are just after them financially.
- 38:49I think the issue is that you have all these content creators
- 38:53that just focus on, again, one aspect of the person's life
- 38:57and they make it seem as if you kill it in that area,
- 39:00you're gonna be happy in everything else
- 39:02just because you figured out one part, which is wrong.
- 39:04It's completely wrong, dude.
- 39:06Like you know this.
- 39:07So I know the answer and I feel this way strongly
- 39:13but I feel like we're letting a lot of young men down
- 39:15because we only focus on certain kinds of content
- 39:18and certain kinds of lifestyle.
- 39:19We don't help level them up in all the other areas
- 39:22of their life and this is why you mentioned
- 39:23some of these ridiculous dating stats
- 39:25where you know the numbers, I don't know the numbers
- 39:30but I'm sure this is why mental health, suicide, depression
- 39:35is at an all time high with young men
- 39:36because we don't have good role models
- 39:38teaching them how to live this like fulfilled life.
- 39:41Well, we have good role models
- 39:43it's just they're being drowned out by the louder role models
- 39:46who make $60,000 an hour streaming on Twitch.
- 39:50Like that's where the problem lies, right?
- 39:53There's this, I'll give you an example.
- 39:54This is kind of a microcosm.
- 39:55There's this funny video of Jason Momoa
- 39:59and he is talking to this couple
- 40:01and he grabs the girl and he starts hugging her
- 40:03and then he starts forearming the guy and pushing him away
- 40:06and he's like pushing to, and the audience is laughing.
- 40:09He's on some talk show.
- 40:10I forget which one it is and the audience is laughing
- 40:13and the funny thing is is that Jason Momoa
- 40:16doesn't realize that he's being disrespectful to that guy
- 40:19because what he's being taught
- 40:21is that that type of behavior is totally acceptable.
- 40:24And so because of that,
- 40:26it's like if Chris Hemsworth came up and grabbed Jason Momoa's girl
- 40:29then it would just be fine.
- 40:30It's not, why are you so insecure, bro?
- 40:32And the reality is that isn't a good boundary
- 40:35to have in a relationship.
- 40:36If my girlfriend was off hugging some other dude at a party
- 40:39and he was pushing me away, we're gonna fight.
- 40:42Sorry to let you guys know this
- 40:43and I'm sorry if that seems like it's very immature
- 40:46but that's what men, that's how men used to do.
- 40:49I used to manage, I used to be the door guy
- 40:51at a bar in Austin, Texas called Amazon Shotbar
- 40:54back 25 years ago and you know what happened every day
- 40:56during the summer, there'd be a fight
- 40:58and you know what happened after the fight?
- 40:59The guys would shake hands afterwards,
- 41:01no one would call the cops, no one would go to jail
- 41:03and you'd go back in there and get your credit card
- 41:04and nobody cared.
- 41:05Now it's like, oh my God, billy push,
- 41:08billy push Steve in elementary schools
- 41:10like now we have to suspend everybody.
- 41:12Now we've gotten to a very different place
- 41:15where like regular traditional masculine roles
- 41:18don't exist anymore and they're being shunned.
- 41:24Listen, I just want you to consider anybody's watching this.
- 41:27I want you to consider that your house is on fire
- 41:29and when it's on fire, your family members are inside the house
- 41:32or on the second floor, you can't get to them.
- 41:34The fire department shows up
- 41:36and the men in the fire department, they show up
- 41:38and you can see their faces.
- 41:39Do you want their faces when they walk up
- 41:41to save your family members, to be full of emotion?
- 41:45Do you want the fire chief to come up to you
- 41:47and be like, Scott, I've been having a rough week.
- 41:50Really I've been having a difficult time dealing
- 41:52with the stress of just being this fire chief
- 41:55and it's just been very, very hard for me.
- 41:57Or do you want stoic, hard looking men
- 42:02to kick in the fucking door and save your family?
- 42:05Which do you want?
- 42:07And then when you answer this question correctly,
- 42:10I want you to read that the American Psychological Association
- 42:13said that traditional masculinity
- 42:15and specifically stoicism was harmful.
- 42:19They said it was harmful.
- 42:21No, it is stoic men who built the world that were in today.
- 42:25It was stoic men who created Riverside FM,
- 42:28who created all this stuff, who created Zoom,
- 42:32who created this lab, like it was stoic men
- 42:34who just sat there, went to work every day
- 42:36and created these things.
- 42:38That's what happened.
- 42:39It's not this idea that traditional masculinity is harmful.
- 42:42That is part of the problem.
- 42:44So now I can't express, like, I just one of these things
- 42:47where it's like, I can't compete with other people
- 42:50because that might hurt someone's feelings.
- 42:51We need to give Billy a trophy, participation trophy
- 42:55for just participating.
- 42:56We've got into this place where it's become very difficult
- 42:59for you to succeed.
- 43:01And I think the over correction,
- 43:03I think things had gotten too far to the left
- 43:05and then the over correction was what we saw
- 43:07a couple of days ago with the inauguration.
- 43:09That is the sign of the over correction.
- 43:11We've gone too far in one direction
- 43:12and now we're coming back in the other direction.
- 43:14So, I mean, I just think that's just the main issue
- 43:17that I see people having.
- 43:18And along with, like I said before,
- 43:19giving yourself permission to express yourself,
- 43:21understanding that status is just perceived.
- 43:23You do these things and like, you are going to have more success.
- 43:27The one idea that I think is important to talk about
- 43:31is, yes, I do believe that traditional masculinity
- 43:35is demonized to a degree and I don't agree with that at all.
- 43:39I think we are correcting now.
- 43:41But what happened was when we demonized traditional masculinity
- 43:45and young men had no role models,
- 43:48it turned into, and they had no sexual partners,
- 43:51it turned into this anger and this incel behavior
- 43:57for lack of a better term.
- 43:58And that's also not masculinity either.
- 44:01That's not what people should aspire to be.
- 44:03So, what's the fix?
- 44:06Like, who are the people, I mean, outside of you,
- 44:08your content, the people in your community,
- 44:10what's the fix for someone young, trying to figure out,
- 44:15how do I conduct myself as a man?
- 44:17How do I build status properly?
- 44:18How do I not hate the other sex?
- 44:20So these are not good, right?
- 44:23You understand what I'm saying?
- 44:24Because you saw that as well.
- 44:26Yeah, so one of the issues is a lot of men,
- 44:30they were told that their relationships
- 44:34with the opposite sex were going to be a certain way.
- 44:36They were told by Disney, the church, and their family
- 44:38that if I'm just good to her,
- 44:39if I do unto others as they would do unto me,
- 44:42then what I will receive is one free wife, right?
- 44:45I'll have one Cinderella story
- 44:47because that's what I deserve
- 44:49because I worked hard in school.
- 44:50And so therefore, if I just do what,
- 44:53you know, if I just, if I'm just a good little boy,
- 44:55then I'll get a girl and then they get into the real world
- 44:58and then all of a sudden rock the bartender
- 44:59steals their girlfriend and then they're very angry.
- 45:01Like you said before, the anger
- 45:03and then we talk about the incel culture.
- 45:05For me, the ultimate thing that I learned
- 45:07and remember the first thing I said about status
- 45:09is I don't judge people.
- 45:11I like, it is actual non-judgment with discernment
- 45:14that actually gets you through this,
- 45:15which is why I try to teach people.
- 45:17Like for instance, you saw that crazy news
- 45:20about that one woman who had sex
- 45:21with like a thousand people in a day
- 45:23or something like that.
- 45:24It was like headline news when it happened.
- 45:26And I did a reaction video
- 45:27and I just watched the audience
- 45:28the way they reacted and they're like,
- 45:30this is the downfall of society, this is horrible.
- 45:32And I'm like, no, I just don't think I want my daughter
- 45:35to do this, but I don't think she should like die
- 45:37because of what she did.
- 45:38Like I don't think she's gonna have a happy relationship
- 45:40but that's just my opinion.
- 45:41Maybe she will.
- 45:43Yeah, I don't really know.
- 45:44Funny enough I'm gonna bump into Lily Phillips tonight
- 45:46here in Las Vegas.
- 45:47She's going to a party I'm going to tonight.
- 45:49But the thing about is when you do that,
- 45:51what happens is if you watch the Candace Owens interview
- 45:54with her, she needed this woman to be wrong
- 45:57for Candace to be right.
- 45:59And I'm not saying Candace is an incel,
- 46:00but it's that same mechanism that causes people
- 46:03to become hateful.
- 46:04And my whole thing is when my competition does something
- 46:06to like steal one of my ideas and they do something better,
- 46:09I don't hate them.
- 46:10I'm just, I'm non-judgmental towards it.
- 46:12When you can learn to be non-judgmental
- 46:14and understand, yes, the world may be falling apart
- 46:16around you.
- 46:17Yes, the good guys don't always win.
- 46:19Yes, the world is not fair.
- 46:20Yes, social media is fake.
- 46:22When you come to that realization
- 46:23and you're just non-judgmental,
- 46:24you're except like Eckhart Toll talks about
- 46:26in the power of now.
- 46:27I accept the moment exactly the way that it is.
- 46:29And then, but you can still be discerning
- 46:31and take right action.
- 46:32I think that's ultimately the key.
- 46:33That's how you keep from becoming an incel.
- 46:35For me, all of the experiences I've had with women
- 46:38in my entire life have been almost entirely positive.
- 46:40And because of that, I love women.
- 46:41And you'll notice, I do shows with 10, 12 women.
- 46:44Most of my friends are women.
- 46:45I love being around women.
- 46:46So as a dating coach, I'm very different
- 46:48than the most of the other ones.
- 46:49I tell men to friend zone as many women as you can.
- 46:51Have a ton of female friends.
- 46:52They'll introduce you to other women.
- 46:54They'll get you into cool parties
- 46:55and they'll get you calibrated
- 46:56towards being around women.
- 46:57I teach something that is very different
- 46:58than one of a lot of guys who does no hatred at all.
- 47:00Do I admit that some of the females
- 47:02that I may be friends with, I'm like,
- 47:03hey, that seems like kind of toxic behavior.
- 47:05And I probably wouldn't want to date you, sure.
- 47:07But I just don't date them.
- 47:08I don't hate them though.
- 47:10That's where the problem comes.
- 47:11Does that make sense?
- 47:12Yeah, it's not.
- 47:13It's the early age.
- 47:13It's the hatred.
- 47:15Again, if somebody does something
- 47:17like like if we were to study Pablo Escobar, right?
- 47:20I'm Colombia, my family's Colombia.
- 47:22I've got to study Pablo Escobar.
- 47:23I can look at him in a non-judgmental way
- 47:25and then at the end say,
- 47:26I don't think I need to sell cocaine.
- 47:28You see what I'm saying?
- 47:29Like I can do that.
- 47:29I can look at him and be like,
- 47:31again, if I were to look at certain battles
- 47:33during World War II,
- 47:34there were despicable people
- 47:35that were executing those battles.
- 47:37I can still look at them and say,
- 47:39okay, this is what he did, right?
- 47:40This is what he did wrong.
- 47:41But like still, but not hate him
- 47:43and then go back and say, okay,
- 47:44this is what, I'm saying this is a form of military officer.
- 47:47I can look at and I can study previous generals
- 47:49and say, okay, this is what he did, right?
- 47:51This is what he did wrong.
- 47:52With a dispassionately look and try to learn.
- 47:55Again, you guys might have,
- 47:56I know a lot,
- 47:57I'm friends with a very controversial content creator,
- 47:59Wes Watson.
- 48:00And Wes, he goes off, he goes after people,
- 48:03he's a lot of profanity.
- 48:04People have a hard time.
- 48:05Like he's very,
- 48:06he makes himself very difficult to digest sometimes, right?
- 48:10He really becomes very polarizing.
- 48:12If you were to look at Wes Watson though,
- 48:14without judgment and say, okay,
- 48:15what are the things he does well?
- 48:16Well, he has a fucking fully automated sales process
- 48:19where he has no sales team
- 48:21and his expenses are incredibly low.
- 48:23And he's done four million a month in revenue
- 48:25with like 80, 90% profit.
- 48:27Those are crazy numbers.
- 48:28I wanna learn that.
- 48:30I wanna learn that part about instead of judging him,
- 48:33I'm gonna use discernment to figure out,
- 48:34okay, what are the parts that I can learn
- 48:36and what are the parts that I don't wanna learn?
- 48:37And that's the main thing that I've done with my company
- 48:39is just try to understand,
- 48:40what are the things I need to learn
- 48:42and what are the things that I can just like leave behind?
- 48:44So the term we use is judgment,
- 48:46it's discernment without judgment,
- 48:49discernment without judgment.
- 48:51Just because like you can learn a lot of crazy things
- 48:54from people,
- 48:55but you don't have to be exactly like them.
- 48:58And that's one of the main things
- 48:59that I try to teach people.
- 49:00And when you do so, you don't become hateful or resentful.
- 49:03You know, this is a hard thing
- 49:04for a lot of people to swallow.
- 49:06Ladies who are watching this,
- 49:07every guy who ever cheated on you isn't a narcissist.
- 49:10Some of them just cheated on you, just happened.
- 49:12And fellas, if you're out there,
- 49:13if there's a lady who cheated on you,
- 49:15she isn't a psychopath.
- 49:17Sometimes they are, but a lot of times,
- 49:20they just, things didn't work out.
- 49:22And people don't wanna hear that.
- 49:24It's the number of women that I hear tell me
- 49:26that they got cheated on by a guy who was a narcissist,
- 49:29doesn't match up with the number of narcissists
- 49:31that there are in the world.
- 49:32You know what I'm saying?
- 49:33It just says that the numbers don't match up.
- 49:35And so if you can learn to have discernment without judgment,
- 49:38then just come to the realization
- 49:40that sometimes relationships don't work,
- 49:41just because they don't work.
- 49:42Some guy quit your company because it wasn't a good fit.
- 49:44It doesn't mean that there were a bad person.
- 49:46If you can truly have that attitude
- 49:47of discernment without judgment,
- 49:49then you don't get yourself put into these situations.

- 52:00Don't miss this chance to transform your life
- 52:02through language learning.
- 52:03You know, this sort of brings it back
- 52:05to what I mentioned about removing logic,
- 52:07removing emotion out of decisions
- 52:10and proceeding with logic.
- 52:12This is what it's all about.
- 52:14It's about two things.
- 52:15It's about removing emotion out of decision making,
- 52:19out of the content you consume and trying to understand
- 52:22the context that information comes from.
- 52:25But it also is about understanding that social media's
- 52:29fake, the content that people put out
- 52:31is not their entire personality.
- 52:33Just because you heard one good piece of advice
- 52:35from one person does not mean you consider them God
- 52:37and put them on this pedestal.
- 52:39There's a lot of issues with them too.
- 52:41And I'm just, I think the whole goal of this show
- 52:45is to understand that whether or not
- 52:47you're trying to improve in your business,
- 52:49in your relationships, dating, marriage,
- 52:53related with kids, health, well,
- 52:55there's so many different ways to do the thing
- 52:57you're trying to do.
- 52:58And the most successful people,
- 53:00they understand all the different ways
- 53:02and they do have a discerning eye
- 53:04when they try and figure out something you they have to.
- 53:07Because if not, then you're gonna say that,
- 53:08hey, just because this work for one person
- 53:10is gonna work for me, that's not how the world works.
- 53:12And it's not true.
- 53:13And I see this a lot with, I don't come from
- 53:16like a lot of dating content.
- 53:18I see a lot with a lot of health and wellness content.
- 53:20People say, I did the keto diet
- 53:22and that's how I lost my weight, right?
- 53:24Did this split?
- 53:25I did a push pull or I did a chest tries back buys
- 53:27or I did, hey, for 15 minutes a day
- 53:30or only did stair master or contest prep.
- 53:32There's all these different things
- 53:33that the creator, the content creator,
- 53:36they say that it's the only way that it'll work.
- 53:39Yeah, yeah.
- 53:39Exactly.
- 53:40That's incorrect.
- 53:41Yeah, that's totally incorrect.
- 53:43I wanna just bring up one more idea.
- 53:45You mentioned, sort of gone through
- 53:47a couple different pillars of what makes a man successful.
- 53:53What were some ideas that you have
- 53:55or some points of view that we didn't discuss yet
- 53:58about just sort of overall success in a man's life?
- 54:01Yeah, I'm finding mentors.
- 54:02I mean, you mentioned it before,
- 54:03like be discerning enough.
- 54:04So I look at it like, when you think about an NFL team,
- 54:08they have a front office and that front office,
- 54:10one of the things their job to do
- 54:12is to identify talent that other people missed, right?
- 54:16Or being able to tell when someone can actually
- 54:17perform the job.
- 54:18When the guys are really good quarterback
- 54:20or if he just has good measurables at the combine, right?
- 54:23And so I think becoming a good talent scout
- 54:25for finding mentors is an incredible ability.
- 54:28Finding guys who actually can do the job
- 54:30that they say they can do
- 54:31and then kind of identifying which guys can't.
- 54:33I just got bad news for those of you who are watching this.
- 54:35Most of the people trying to teach you how to make money,
- 54:37don't know how to make money,
- 54:38but they do know how to sell you a course
- 54:40on how to make money.
- 54:41That's essentially what's going on.
- 54:42I have bad news for, I have even worse news
- 54:44for you those in the dating space.
- 54:45I'd say 95 to 99% of them don't get anywhere near the results
- 54:49that they claim that they get for their clients.
- 54:52That's one of the first things I did in my courses.
- 54:53I put up hundreds and hundreds and hundreds
- 54:55and hundreds of testimonials to absolutely
- 54:58unequivocally prove that every single thing I said was true
- 55:01and none of it was an exaggeration.
- 55:03And you would think that the entire market
- 55:05would like flock to my idea,
- 55:07but it actually made people more insecure.
- 55:08It really did.
- 55:09It's like if you're a shorter guy
- 55:11and you just believe in your heart
- 55:12that short guys just cannot date pretty girls
- 55:14and you see my program
- 55:15and I show you 100 short guys dating pretty girls,
- 55:18they become very difficult.
- 55:19So instead of it's saying,
- 55:20hey, maybe I need to take this guy's course.
- 55:22It's like, fuck this guy, he's a liar.
- 55:24This must be fraud and I'm like, bro,
- 55:26there's hundreds of testimonials there.
- 55:28The guys are literally saying that what I'm saying is true
- 55:30and they don't want to hear it.
- 55:32Finding being able to scout out mentors is a big one.
- 55:35The other thing I will tell you is
- 55:37we spend a lot of money on courses personally
- 55:40and men of action learning from other people
- 55:42who are smarter than us.
- 55:43I mean, I can tell you right now,
- 55:44Cole Gordon, we spent money on,
- 55:46Tyler Lopez, we spent money on these guys
- 55:48have helped us inmeasurably.
- 55:49These different courses that we've taken,
- 55:51some courses you guys would never heard of.
- 55:52Like we have a course specifically
- 55:54we're taking on YouTube algorithm right now.
- 55:56We have all these different courses that we're taking.
- 55:59One of them was basically how to grow
- 56:01social media accounts.
- 56:02We've taken these different courses
- 56:03and we're constantly reinvesting in ourselves.
- 56:06And by the way, it's a tax write off
- 56:07for those of you that didn't know.
- 56:08We're constantly reinvesting in ourselves
- 56:10by taking these courses as opposed to what other people doing,
- 56:12which is getting these formal college degrees
- 56:15that don't tell you anything about how to like
- 56:17level up your row ads on your ad spend
- 56:20or anything to do with like meta ads.
- 56:22They don't tell you anything.
- 56:23Taking a course, learning how to copyright,
- 56:25learning how to run meta ads,
- 56:27learning how to do SEO, far, far, far greater ROI
- 56:31than you going out and just going
- 56:32to regular a regular university.
- 56:34It's just that's another thing that I've learned.
- 56:35And then lastly, I listen to audiobooks
- 56:37like double or triple speed and I take notes.
- 56:40So like that's another thing I do.
- 56:41And anytime that I'm one of the reason why talks so fast,
- 56:45whenever I'm in the car, whenever I'm eating
- 56:47or whenever I'm in the gym,
- 56:48I am always listening to an audiobook.
- 56:50Right now I'm listening to the sad truth
- 56:52about happiness by Gadsad.
- 56:54You know, I probably this year,
- 56:56I'll probably get through about 50 books.
- 56:58And so that's another thing I'll tell you
- 56:59so that you can continue to educate yourself
- 57:01and become a subject matter expertise,
- 57:03a subject matter expert.
- 57:04This is a thing that I think a lot of people,
- 57:06especially once you hit 35, 40,
- 57:08there's this thing that happens
- 57:09where the plasticity in your brain starts to decay.
- 57:12It becomes your brain becomes a little bit more crystalline.
- 57:16And in order to keep that plasticity from happening,
- 57:18I don't know if you guys listen
- 57:20when Elon Musk went on Joe Rogan,
- 57:22he talked about he's one of the top
- 57:25Diablo players in the world.
- 57:26I believe Elon Musk right now
- 57:27is the number one Diablo player in the world.
- 57:28I'm in the top 100 in the world at Madden.
- 57:30I play Madden in a football.
- 57:32I don't like I do it because it keeps me sharp.
- 57:34I go out and I go to nightclub sometimes
- 57:37and I go to these massive social events
- 57:39because it keeps these parts of my brain,
- 57:41these neurons and axions continue to fire
- 57:44so that my brain can remain young and plastic.
- 57:47When you guys get really good at one thing,
- 57:49you've just been an accountant for 25 years,
- 57:51the plasticity of what you're able to learn
- 57:53starts to decay over time.
- 57:54So I'd highly recommend that you guys learn,
- 57:57you continue to learn for the sake of learning.
- 58:00I read The Guns of August.
- 58:01This is a great book, it's about World War One.
- 58:03I use this book as an example
- 58:04because it has no bearing on my life whatsoever.
- 58:06In the book it has to do with the first month of World War One
- 58:08or like why the whole thing started incredibly fascinating book,
- 58:12won the Pulitzer Prize, a phenomenal book.
- 58:14The book has no bearing on my personal self improvement.
- 58:16Yet learning it, what it did though
- 58:18is expand my brain's ability to continue to learn.
- 58:22This is really high level stuff.
- 58:24So you guys need to continue
- 58:26and I would also recommend a breath of different knowledge points.
- 58:30For me, my favorite subjects are astronomy
- 58:32and evolutionary psychology.
- 58:33Those are the main things I study,
- 58:35but I also worked at a hedge fund for several years
- 58:37in finance selling stock options.
- 58:38I try to learn a polymath.
- 58:40I try to learn a lot about a lot of different ideas
- 58:43and then put them together as a CEO of my company
- 58:45to try to solve problems that way.
- 58:47And so that's another thing.
- 58:49And then like again, every time you're dealing
- 58:51with a problem as an entrepreneur,
- 58:52instead of panicking, find someone else
- 58:54who dealt with this problem previously
- 58:56and you'll be shocked at how you can determine
- 58:58what the solution is.
- 58:59And this is the last one of the last piece of advice
- 59:01because I know we've gone a little bit over here.
- 59:04The social media algorithm is basically astrology
- 59:07at this point.
- 59:08You're going to get millions of people.
- 59:09They're going to get people to ask you
- 59:11for thousands and thousands of dollars
- 59:13trying to tell you that they know how to get you
- 59:15to blow up on YouTube or Instagram.
- 59:17And you guys are going to take these courses
- 59:19and you're going to hire these consultants
- 59:20and you're going to find out what everyone else has found out
- 59:22that nobody knows shit.
- 59:24It is complete and total astrology at this point.
- 59:27The best thing that you can do right now
- 59:29is to make quality content for free
- 59:32that helps people and solves a problem.
- 59:34You're probably not going to get a ton of views
- 59:36and you're probably not going to get a ton of comments
- 59:38but you will be able to get clients.
- 59:41You will.
- 59:41You will be able to get qualified clients
- 59:43by going on social media and solving other people's problems
- 59:47and stop worrying about how many likes or views it gets.
- 59:50A lot of times somebody will post on me
- 59:51and get a thousand views and like,
- 59:53I only got a thousand views.
- 59:54Do you know how many people a thousand people is?
- 59:56That's a lot of people.
- 59:57You don't recognize.
- 59:58I see people running seven and eight figure companies
- 1:00:01with 10,000 Instagram followers.
- 1:00:03You don't need a ton.
- 1:00:04Stop being beaten down whenever you post something
- 1:00:08and it doesn't go viral.
- 1:00:09Stop.
- 1:00:09But one more time.
- 1:00:10You may have posted the greatest content of all time.
- 1:00:13This algorithm that Meta has is total astrology
- 1:00:16at this point.
- 1:00:17No one can figure it out.
- 1:00:18And anyone who tells you that they can
- 1:00:20take it with a grain of salt.
- 1:00:21Yeah, no, I appreciate that.
- 1:00:23Can I ask you one last question then?
- 1:00:26Yeah, no, I think that this is the last thing
- 1:00:28I wanted to leave the audience with
- 1:00:30because we touched on this at the beginning.
- 1:00:33But I want people to have a playbook
- 1:00:35for if they want to start to build status.
- 1:00:38If you're going off about all these different ideas
- 1:00:40about, you know, controversial content
- 1:00:42and ethics and stuff like tomorrow,
- 1:00:45I want to build more status in my life.
- 1:00:47What are the steps that I take?
- 1:00:50I would pick one of these different branches.
- 1:00:52Some of them are very easy and some more complicated.
- 1:00:54So you're doing a podcast.
- 1:00:55See, this is a great way for you to meet people
- 1:00:58right now, Scott, that you might want to meet
- 1:00:59so you can find mentors this way.
- 1:01:01And you can build status.
- 1:01:03You can show a level of subject magnet or expertise.
- 1:01:05And you can show a level of relevancy
- 1:01:07and competency by doing this.
- 1:01:09This would make you not only professionally viable,
- 1:01:11but depending on the podcast,
- 1:01:13it makes you actually attractive,
- 1:01:14more attractive to the opposite sex
- 1:01:16because they're going to look at you
- 1:01:17and be like, this is a competent, relevant individual
- 1:01:19who can take care of his own shit.
- 1:01:21So that's one way is the podcast.
- 1:01:23Another way that I've seen that's worked really well,
- 1:01:25it's very inexpensive, very easy to do.
- 1:01:27OBS is free.
- 1:01:28It's your reaction videos.
- 1:01:29You guys can go on and make these simple reaction videos.
- 1:01:31They're very simple to do.
- 1:01:33You just react to other people's content.
- 1:01:35You can use Riverside for it.
- 1:01:36I will say the only weakness with Riverside FM
- 1:01:39is that when you play reaction audio,
- 1:01:41it's a little bit muffled.
- 1:01:42Whereas for StreamYard, it's a little bit better,
- 1:01:44but Riverside actually, they download everything in 4K.
- 1:01:47I'm sorry to get too technical.
- 1:01:48I'm actually building a course on building pod.
- 1:01:50I'm actually starting a course on building podcasts
- 1:01:51right now in my, it's a sub course in my course.
- 1:01:54But so number one is build a cup of hot gas.
- 1:01:57Number two would be reaction videos.
- 1:01:58Number three, this is a really great one,
- 1:02:00especially if you have any kind of social anxiety,
- 1:02:02is try man on the street videos.
- 1:02:03These are terrific.
- 1:02:04Go to a like a popular area.
- 1:02:06We do first Fridays here in Las Vegas,
- 1:02:08down in the arts district.
- 1:02:09We do it like from five to 11 pm.
- 1:02:11You can just go out there and just interview people.
- 1:02:12It all it takes is two iPhones.
- 1:02:14Use one iPhone as a microphone
- 1:02:15and use the other iPhone to take video.
- 1:02:17And then watch yourself on camera.
- 1:02:19And you can learn so much about yourself
- 1:02:21talking to other people to see whether or not
- 1:02:23your voice and flexion changes.
- 1:02:24This is very common Scott for a normal dude
- 1:02:27talking to a very beautiful woman.
- 1:02:29All of a sudden his voice goes up like this.
- 1:02:30Hey guys, where are you guys from?
- 1:02:33Can't you guys want to get a drink with me?
- 1:02:35What a nice dress.
- 1:02:37That looks good.
- 1:02:38I'm like bro, what happened to your voice?
- 1:02:40I don't understand.
- 1:02:41I can't believe what I'm watching.
- 1:02:42But it's because of man on the street videos
- 1:02:44that I'm able to do that.
- 1:02:45And then you'd also use the man on the street
- 1:02:47to go viral.
- 1:02:48You saw the Hock to a thing.
- 1:02:49That's a great example of man on the street going viral, right?
- 1:02:52Alternatively, you have directed camera videos.
- 1:02:55This is a lot where I think a lot of entrepreneurs should start.
- 1:02:58And so when you think of directed camera,
- 1:02:59just go look at anything Alex Hermosi is doing now.
- 1:03:01These are five things in 2025
- 1:03:03that you can do to build your company to eight figures.
- 1:03:05That would be the hook for a direct to camera video.
- 1:03:09These are very simple to do.
- 1:03:10You can just copy what other people are doing.
- 1:03:12But more importantly, it just gets,
- 1:03:13it lets other people understand what your expertise is.
- 1:03:16And the last one, and this is the hardest one.
- 1:03:18But if you can pull this off, it is incredible.
- 1:03:20It's a panel show.
- 1:03:21You need to do a panel show.
- 1:03:22I don't know if you know like zoom or I think on Riverside,
- 1:03:24you can do 10 panelists at one time or something like that.
- 1:03:26On I can't remember how many people zoom you can have.
- 1:03:29Like infinite panelists, whatever.
- 1:03:30But live panel shows, which is what I specialize in doing.
- 1:03:34So all it'll be me and Rollo Tomasi.
- 1:03:35I'll have maybe one other male guests
- 1:03:37and 10 girls on the show.
- 1:03:38And we'll react to viral videos.
- 1:03:39So it's a reaction show and a panel show at the same time.
- 1:03:42These are the hardest to do,
- 1:03:42but they do really, really well if you want to grow a channel.
- 1:03:45And then along with everything I just said,
- 1:03:47doing live streams, really good photo content,
- 1:03:51and then really good video recaps.
- 1:03:53Those would be like the seven ways
- 1:03:55I would say you could build a brand right now
- 1:03:57and becoming good at those seven ways.
- 1:03:58You're pretty much going to be a,
- 1:04:00when I say photos like you're either photographing real estate,
- 1:04:02cars, beautiful women, scenery, whatever, or video recaps.
- 1:04:06I have some friends of mine.
- 1:04:07All they do is they go to these really huge parties.
- 1:04:09And then they make these video recaps using like a steady cam
- 1:04:12and a drone or whatever.
- 1:04:13And then they make the recap and give it to the content creator
- 1:04:15and then they do a collab.
- 1:04:16And these guys have blown up because they do that as well.
- 1:04:18So those are, those are the different ways to build a brand.
- 1:04:21So anybody who's watching this, I'm an accountant.
- 1:04:23Okay, cool.
- 1:04:24I would do direct a camera.
- 1:04:25These are five things that you think you can write off,
- 1:04:28but you can't.
- 1:04:28And then you go into like the drug dealer
- 1:04:30trying to write off his mistress's boob job.
- 1:04:32And like everyone's like, oh my God,
- 1:04:34I was like, I can't wait to see what number two is.
- 1:04:36That making content like that is how I would build a brand in 2025.
- 1:04:40I know people wanted like a, like an overarching sort of vague answer.
- 1:04:44I'm going to give you a specific, I don't do vague answers.
- 1:04:46Everything in my program is specific.
- 1:04:48When you, I used to fly a KC 135 as a navigator in the military.
- 1:04:52There's no vague answers when you fly an airplane
- 1:04:53that are specific answers or you die.
- 1:04:55And that's the reason why my course is very, very specific
- 1:04:58and why it's called mental action.
- 1:05:00I love it.
- 1:05:01And that's, I mean, I asked for, I asked for how to build status
- 1:05:05but brand and status, I guess, are synonymous when you start.
- 1:05:08That's how it's a little brand on all.
- 1:05:10If I'm, but you're asking because some of your audience
- 1:05:14may actually be men trying to date more attractive women,
- 1:05:16but I imagine most of your audience are entrepreneurs.
- 1:05:19And so it's funny.
- 1:05:20The mechanisms for the highest level of dating
- 1:05:22and for entrepreneurship are the same mechanisms.
- 1:05:24If you ever listen to Ornclaf's book,
- 1:05:26what is it pitch anything?
- 1:05:30It would read, read the book and then read them.
- 1:05:32He goes, avoid beta behavior.
- 1:05:35What? Ornclaf said avoid beta behavior
- 1:05:39when he's pitching anything?
- 1:05:40Where else have you heard avoid beta behavior, Scott?
- 1:05:43That's a dating term.
- 1:05:45That is direct.
- 1:05:46There's so many of the terms for Ornclaf's book
- 1:05:48are directly out of dating programs.
- 1:05:51It's crazy.
- 1:05:52The highest level of dating, the best book on dating
- 1:05:54I've ever read, you know what it is?
- 1:05:55100 million dollar offer by Alex Hermozzi.
- 1:05:58People are like, what are you talking about?
- 1:05:59I was like, no, that's what I throw insane events
- 1:06:03where people cannot feel stupid saying no.
- 1:06:05And then I end up like going out,
- 1:06:06like I'm going out tonight with six girls to a party.
- 1:06:09And like, that's not date.
- 1:06:10At that point, it's just fish and a barrel.
- 1:06:12It's a doing.
- 1:06:14Yeah, no, I love it.
- 1:06:16Okay, where can people go, website, social, all that?
- 1:06:19Yeah, easiest place to find me is on Instagram
- 1:06:21and Michael Sartain.
- 1:06:22You guys really, if you are an entrepreneur,
- 1:06:23you need to have some presence on Instagram.
- 1:06:26I know you guys, like a lot of people
- 1:06:27are really heavy on Twitter
- 1:06:28and they're kind of afraid of Instagram.
- 1:06:30I got bad news.
- 1:06:31Like this is the only thing about Twitter.
- 1:06:32I love Twitter.
- 1:06:33I go on Twitter is a lot,
- 1:06:34but there seems to be a little bit more anonymity
- 1:06:36and a little bit more of a victim mentality on Twitter.
- 1:06:38And those are bad leads when you're running a company.
- 1:06:40If you want good leads,
- 1:06:42for people to have a bit more optimism
- 1:06:43and a more of an abundance mentality,
- 1:06:45I would highly recommend using Facebook and Instagram.
- 1:06:47Those are a little bit better.
- 1:06:48And then also YouTube has the best leads,
- 1:06:50but because they don't have a DM feature,
- 1:06:53YouTube is one of these things where like you,
- 1:06:55you get them brand aware after a while.
- 1:06:57And then you take them down the funnel
- 1:06:58with your link tree or your Hooby or whatever it is.
- 1:07:00For us, we just go directly to the VSL.
- 1:07:03If you guys want to learn a bunch about that stuff,
- 1:07:05that's what I teach also in my course.
- 1:07:07Guys, yeah, that's the easiest way to find me
- 1:07:08is on Instagram, Michael Sartain,
- 1:07:10or you can go to moamentoring.com
- 1:07:12and you can see our offer.
- 1:07:13Okay, awesome.
- 1:07:14Last question I like to ask,
- 1:07:15out of all the wisdom that you have accumulated over your life,
- 1:07:19if you could only pass one lesson onto your kids,
- 1:07:22everything that you've learned, put it aside,
- 1:07:24the most important thing, what would it be?
- 1:07:26Yeah, the world isn't all about you.
- 1:07:28The reason why you feel frustration is because the world
- 1:07:30is not most people are interested in their own problems.
- 1:07:33And you're going to feel frustrated and things aren't fair
- 1:07:36and like when it was actually,
- 1:07:37I think it was Neil Strauss who told me this,
- 1:07:38the guy who wrote the book, the game,
- 1:07:39The New York Times VSL.
- 1:07:41I had a conversation with Neil and he was like,
- 1:07:42the number one thing I learned was the world isn't about me.
- 1:07:44Once I really, truly grasp that the world isn't about me,
- 1:07:47that all I have is this present moment
- 1:07:49and the incredible gratitude that I should have
- 1:07:51for the fact that I'm born after, like, say,
- 1:07:53antibiotics and high speed internet.
- 1:07:55Do you understand, you want to know a funny stat?
- 1:07:57Do you know that syphilis had a 57% mortality rate
- 1:08:01before antibiotics?
- 1:08:02I want you to think about your buddies in college.
- 1:08:0457% mortality rate.
- 1:08:07You want to talk about being grateful
- 1:08:09before the year 1850,
- 1:08:11half the earth's population died before the age of five.
- 1:08:13You should be so grateful that you're alive right now.
- 1:08:16The only thing that you have is this present moment.
- 1:08:18There is no past, there is no future.
- 1:08:19I have a call after this.
- 1:08:20I'm not thinking about that call.
- 1:08:21The only thing that matters is this moment.
- 1:08:24There's nothing else other than this moment.
- 1:08:26And then the other part is the reality,
- 1:08:28the realization of your own mortality.
- 1:08:30In 300 years, 300 years from now,
- 1:08:32Elon Musk and myself will be just as dead.
- 1:08:34We'll be in the exact same place.
- 1:08:36We'll be equally as dead as one another.
- 1:08:39And when you come to that realization,
- 1:08:40you're like, okay, what more can I make while I'm here now?
- 1:08:43And then also what things can I do to set up my family
- 1:08:45to protect them after I'm gone?
- 1:08:47Those are the only things you should be worried about.
- 1:08:49If you can concern your life with that,
- 1:08:51the gratitude for the fact that you get to live this life,
- 1:08:54you're actually wealthy enough to watch us
- 1:08:56on the internet right now.
- 1:08:57This beat is a beat being beaten to you
- 1:08:59at 186,282 miles a second.
- 1:09:02That you have gratitude and present moment awareness.
- 1:09:04And then finally, you are aware of your own mortality.
- 1:09:07That would be the thing that I'd pass along to my kids.
