- 0:00SPEAKER_01: Hi, today I have with me Akeisha, and we are talking about what stretch therapy activated in her healing journey.
- 0:11SPEAKER_01: Welcome to Wellness in Every Season.
- 0:13SPEAKER_01: We talk all things wellness regarding the environment that you spend a lot of your time in, your physical health, your intellectual health, your financial health, your spiritual health, professional health, your social health, who you have relationships with, your emotional health.
- 0:34SPEAKER_01: This is a really big umbrella, so expect all kinds of topics within all of these amazing dimensions of your wellness.
- 0:44SPEAKER_01: Let's dive in.
- 0:51SPEAKER_01: I know I always say this, and I'm excited.
- 0:53SPEAKER_01: I'm a very excitable person on the podcast.
- 0:57SPEAKER_01: She and I met, and we hit it off enough that I invited her to the podcast because I realized that this is something that I need for my own wellness journey.
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: And I'm very excited to share Acacia and her journey and how she helps clients and how important this is.
- 1:19SPEAKER_01: And one thing that really stood out to me when we met before is the difference between what she does.
- 1:27SPEAKER_01: And there is a new company that opened up that's a chain in Frederick, Maryland, where I live, that's basically a gym membership for stretch.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: And she was telling me the difference between that and what she does because I was thinking about joining it for myself.
- 1:45SPEAKER_01: So she gave me that hold up, do a little bit of work on this and dig in a little further.
- 1:51SPEAKER_01: But what I love about what she does compared to the membership base of these chain locations is it's very individualized instead of the idea of kind of factory labor where we're all the same and we're all getting the same treatment.
- 2:11SPEAKER_01: So if you have thought about stretch therapy, if you've seen ads for it, listen to this.
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: Or if you have, and this definitely goes in with aging, if you notice that you are tighter, the stretch is super important for making sure that you have the life that you want, the body you want, especially as you're aging.
- 2:34SPEAKER_01: So think about that.
- 2:35SPEAKER_01: If you want to prevent being in a nursing home, this is a great place to start.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: So let me give you a bit about Akeisha's bio.
- 2:42SPEAKER_01: And I love that she's unlike other people that I interview.
- 2:45SPEAKER_01: She's not saying uh-huh the whole way through.
- 2:49SPEAKER_01: She's just being quiet, letting me do my thing.
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: So she don't get a chance to talk, but let me tell you about her.
- 2:53SPEAKER_01: She is a body worker and energetic facilitator on a mission to bring ease and enjoyment back into the body.
- 3:01SPEAKER_01: Her work blends guided movement, stretch therapy, energetic and emotional clearing with conscious awareness.
- 3:08SPEAKER_01: Our bodies are receivers and broadcasters, and letting that energy flow through us isn't just a mind thing, it's a body thing.
- 3:16SPEAKER_01: It doesn't have to be complicated.
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: And her work helps you expand and release what you're holding so clients don't just feel good for a moment.
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: Yay, it lasts longer.
- 3:28SPEAKER_01: They learn to actually enjoy the one body they get in this lifetime with more ease, more joy, and more life.
- 3:35SPEAKER_01: So well written, Akeisha.
- 3:37SPEAKER_01: So thank you for being on.
- 3:40SPEAKER_01: And one thing that stood out to me while reading this is you have to do so much work for yourself to make sure you're releasing that, going from client to client.
- 3:49SPEAKER_00: Okay, I'm gonna speak now.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you totally are.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: Thank you for having me on your podcast, and thank you for reading that.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: And to hear it back, I was getting this is I was getting goosebumps at my own bio because that is my mission, is for the world to be happy in the bodies that we get to do what we get to do on this beautiful planet, especially in a day and age where we're constantly being asked very in our face and very subliminally to detach from our bodies.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: And if you're alive today and breathing and listening to this, you were born into a reality that has a body.
- 4:25SPEAKER_00: And this is how we get to experience and create and do things.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: We can be in the mind and we can be in the VR, but do you want to eat and feel it, touch it, taste it, live it?
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: You have to be in your body.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: And I truly believe if we were happy and content and enjoying these bodies that we have, we would make different choices.
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: I've made different choices.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: We're not perfect, but I think that the energy of the world would be very different.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: So that's my mission.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: So to hear it back with a reminder of why I'm doing this work, the way that I do it, and the way that it's evolving constantly.
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: And to your question, you're right.
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of work that I do in order to stay in my own path.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: But also, yeah, going from client to client, I don't ever take on this as my perspective, which is very different from a lot of energy people who do quote unquote energy work or energy work in general, because everything is energy, but I don't label it as good or bad.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: I don't label it as pure or evil.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: I just see it as what it is and things are moving through.
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: I've got tools if I sense energetics that aren't maybe entities and stuff that are maybe around.
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: If you're into spirits and stuff, I've got tools that can help clear that for me and the client.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: But I'm not seeing as if they're going through something, I'm not seeing it as mine that's gonna hurt me because I'm always just like it's just a funnel, it's just a funnel, it's just a funnel.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: And I don't have that point of view that it's going to impact me, if that makes sense.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: And I think that's a point of view that I also try and work with my clients in is that because we are receivers of energy, because we are broadcasters of energy, we often always just talk with the broadcaster, we don't talk about the receivership of it.
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: And so to also realize in you're picking up people's thoughts, you're picking up people's feelings, and you also don't have to attach and buy them and think they're yours.
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: You can let that, just like I do with the client, you can let everybody else's stuff that you might be picking up on flow through you and not buy it as yours, therefore, your body is not going to distort whatever it's picking up on.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: And I have a couple of very clear examples of that that I always tell clients that get them to be, oh, that's what she means by not attaching it so that my body doesn't take it on as mine to answer your question.
- 6:51SPEAKER_01: I love that.
- 6:52SPEAKER_01: And I think anyone who is any type of empath, you just got an answer to maybe a question you've been asking yourself of how do you make sure that you're not absorbing other people's energy?
- 7:04SPEAKER_01: So if you didn't catch that, go back.
- 7:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and expand on that moment too.
- 7:09SPEAKER_00: Everyone has the capacity to sense things.
- 7:14SPEAKER_00: Some people's dials are just turned up and heightened.
- 7:19SPEAKER_00: And so that even if you're well, I'm not an empath, you still pick up on things.
- 7:23SPEAKER_00: So go back and listen to what I just said two seconds ago.
- 7:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 7:27unknown: Yeah.
- 7:27SPEAKER_01: I love that.
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: And that is true.
- 7:30SPEAKER_01: Sometimes we feel just depleted and we don't know why, especially if we don't use the label on ourselves of I'm an empath.
- 7:39SPEAKER_01: So there you go.
- 7:41SPEAKER_01: Now it's probably been about a minute and a half that you need to go back.
- 7:44SPEAKER_01: Let me ask you the question.
- 7:46SPEAKER_01: Let me get us on track with the questions.
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: I totally do this where I go down little rabbit trails.
- 7:53SPEAKER_01: You said your own healing journey changed through stretch therapy.
- 7:57SPEAKER_01: What happened that made you realize movement was affecting more than just your physical body?
- 8:02SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
- 8:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah, this was a big turnkey moment for me.
- 8:07SPEAKER_00: And so, quick backstory.
- 8:09SPEAKER_00: I grew up as a dancer.
- 8:10SPEAKER_00: I went to university for dance.
- 8:12SPEAKER_00: I started a collective with a fellow colleague of mine.
- 8:15SPEAKER_00: We ran it for six years.
- 8:17SPEAKER_00: I was in the studio 36 hours a week and I was serving for 24.
- 8:22SPEAKER_00: I was on my feet.
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: I was go, go, go.
- 8:25SPEAKER_00: And I ended up, long story short, breaking the bottom of my foot, which basically halted me literally in my tracks.
- 8:36SPEAKER_00: I had to modify all work.
- 8:38SPEAKER_00: I had to stop dancing.
- 8:40SPEAKER_00: I could barely teach.
- 8:42SPEAKER_00: And I had to take six months and rehab.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: And in that rehab, I chose to do something totally against all my advisors and was to hire a strength and conditioning coach.
- 8:54SPEAKER_00: Because at 28 years old, not only did I have a broken foot, I couldn't sit for more than 20 minutes, and I couldn't walk up a flight of stairs, though, being in excruciating pain.
- 9:05SPEAKER_00: And it was, I knew there was some imbalances, but as dancers were trained a certain way, and I needed actually something to get me at this point when I hired my strength coach, I was able to walk again.
- 9:18SPEAKER_00: I was able to hold five pounds and not hurt my foot.
- 9:22SPEAKER_00: But I needed to change how I was being in my body quickly.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: So I hired a strength coach and we got going.
- 9:29SPEAKER_00: And then I noticed, though, that movement still was really sticky.
- 9:33SPEAKER_00: I was still getting these very random, intense pains in my psoas, the muscle that connects your spine to your femur.
- 9:43SPEAKER_00: And it would feel like my body exploded from the inside, and then something disappeared from me.
- 9:48SPEAKER_00: It was so intense.
- 9:50SPEAKER_00: And I had pain in my quad that we just couldn't quite work out.
- 9:55SPEAKER_00: Once I rebalanced my pelvis, it was still this fiery sensation.
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: And my friend of the time, she had gotten trained and she's like, Aisha, just come lay on my table and I'm just gonna move your body and you're gonna just let me do it.
- 10:10SPEAKER_00: So I was very comfortable with her.
- 10:11SPEAKER_00: I laid on the table, and it was the first time in probably at this point three years that I was going into movement and not freaking out.
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: I didn't have the fieriness, I didn't have the ghosty feeling.
- 10:26SPEAKER_00: I didn't my body was, oh, that's what that position is supposed to feel like.
- 10:33SPEAKER_00: Oh, I can go there again.
- 10:35SPEAKER_00: So after that session, I was totally transformed.
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: I was also looking for a way out of the service industry that would pay me roughly the same amount per hour that I was making in a six-hour shift.
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: And so I went and did the training.
- 10:50SPEAKER_00: And it's when I say I spent over$10,000 on physio over that time period of like 10 years, I actually that's no joke.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: I'm probably underballing about a few grand.
- 11:02SPEAKER_00: In three months with a strength coach and weekly stretches, I was in the best shape in zero pain.
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: And my movement capacity expanded, but my emotional capacity also started to expand.
- 11:19SPEAKER_00: And when I had someone say, What did you do?
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: I was well, I did a strength coach.
- 11:25SPEAKER_00: But what I really did was to control my movement.
- 11:28SPEAKER_00: I stopped trying to do it all.
- 11:30SPEAKER_00: I had someone weekly that was okay, what are we working through?
- 11:34SPEAKER_00: Okay, here's you don't realize how much you're subconsciously holding until you have someone hold you and actually be that sensitive enough to be like, oh, you're you're stopping the movement, you're guarding, breathe, let move through it.
- 11:49SPEAKER_00: And sometimes it's super emotional, and sometimes it's just you're just a bit of a control freak.
- 11:54SPEAKER_00: And you just need to let that pelvis go or let the femur grip go just a little bit, and then you let then the movement happens.
- 12:03SPEAKER_00: And my body just started to feel it's a weird thing to describe, but every client that I touch gets it after a while.
- 12:14SPEAKER_00: It's that comfortability, lightness, ease being in your body, waking up and being like a body and I'm someone else.
- 12:23SPEAKER_00: Having places not having tension, but also having this lightness, having this ease with movement.
- 12:28SPEAKER_00: And I'm someone who trained very extensively to how to make movement look easy, but it didn't always feel easy.
- 12:38SPEAKER_00: And that feeling that that space and then the recovery time of a really intense day that shortened.
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: The recovery time shortened.
- 12:49SPEAKER_00: And I was reignited with wow, it's actually this body is so amazing.
- 12:55SPEAKER_00: And there's these tools out there that are simple, they're not overly complicated.
- 13:00SPEAKER_00: Yes, you got to learn them, but they're simple, they're visual.
- 13:03SPEAKER_00: I'm a visual person.
- 13:04SPEAKER_00: It just all made sense.
- 13:06SPEAKER_00: And when I get to be that catalyst or that facilitator for a client to remind them, to remind their body, ah, movement is actually pretty cool.
- 13:18SPEAKER_00: Even people who are, I'm a pro, I'm okay, let's make pro even more pro.
- 13:21SPEAKER_00: And they're like, oh, thank you.
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: Because I expand their edges, their capacity to do what they do even better.
- 13:28SPEAKER_01: What do you think we misunderstand about the relationship between movement and how we actually feel living in our bodies?
- 13:38SPEAKER_00: I think when you just look at the word movement and how it's taught, it's very mechanical.
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: But when we tap into the energetics of it, it's very flowy.
- 13:49SPEAKER_00: And there's tons of modalities that tap into that perspective and bring that forward.
- 13:55SPEAKER_00: I think it really that is really found in more movement style approaches.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: So Fletcher or Fletcher Pilates has that kind of movement understanding of strength and stuff, but somatic work, things that are more fluid in movement instead of being super rigid.
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: I always say stretch your strength and strengthen your stretch.
- 14:17SPEAKER_00: So we would want to have our fascia wants to be both strong, but it also wants to slide and glide with ease.
- 14:25SPEAKER_00: It doesn't want to be restricted.
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: And I so I think the misconception is that movement is fluid and we're not a machine.
- 14:35SPEAKER_00: We have dimensions and we have layers to us, and we have spirals.
- 14:40SPEAKER_00: Machines don't have spirals.
- 14:41SPEAKER_00: We have spirals.
- 14:42SPEAKER_00: We're our bones are all structured differently.
- 14:45SPEAKER_00: Our fascia is interwoven into everything, our muscles fill in the with the fascia.
- 14:51SPEAKER_00: It's not some separate.
- 14:52SPEAKER_00: Here's a cord and here's something.
- 14:55SPEAKER_00: It's all woven together.
- 14:56SPEAKER_00: It's so it's complicated in one aspect, but if you flip the coin, it's dynamic and in indrigated.
- 15:06SPEAKER_01: You explained to me how the fascia is like a net.
- 15:11SPEAKER_01: Can you explain what the fascia is and explain what you meant by that when you said that to me when we met a month ago?
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 15:19SPEAKER_00: So your, I mean, the fascia is all the connective tissue in the body, and there's variety of kinds of fascia, and some of it of it is very, very, very structural and does not move.
- 15:33SPEAKER_00: And then there's these nets.
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: So Thomas Myers is the big name in the fascia world.
- 15:40SPEAKER_00: He discovered that there are these slings, these nets that run head to toe or legs to arms.
- 15:47SPEAKER_00: And it's what your muscles all sit in, and you can fully dissect them out of your body.
- 15:53SPEAKER_00: But if you think of them as a webbing of sort, and then take that webbing and make, yeah, make a net that way.
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: Say you're going fishing and you're you got a net and you're pulling the fish out of the water.
- 16:04SPEAKER_00: Say you got that, right?
- 16:05SPEAKER_00: If there is a snag in that net, you can kind of see visually that if a snag is pulling one side of the net, that it's gonna pull the other fibers in that direction.
- 16:17SPEAKER_00: So you're gonna have pain on one side, but you also might have pain on the other side.
- 16:21SPEAKER_00: So it's just determining which side needs to be opened up and released, and which side needs to be re-strengthened to hold that net in the position that is optimal for the body.
- 16:34SPEAKER_00: Did that example visual work?
- 16:36SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 16:36SPEAKER_01: You talked about how you had a client that you did work on, and this client afterwards was saying that they were doing yoga, and I think it was they were in downward dog and their heels touched for the first time ever.
- 16:51SPEAKER_01: In fact, of releasing those parts of the mat within the fascia.
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: So, I mean, very, very seasoned yogi, always struggling with getting his heels down.
- 17:05SPEAKER_00: And I'm being seasoned, I mean we're talking when it's 20 years, seasoned, yeah, decade seasoned, doing yoga, very bendy man, very bendy.
- 17:14SPEAKER_00: And I love those clients because those ones, it's where in the line do we just need to put the focus just a little bit and actually open up that that releases the whole chain.
- 17:24SPEAKER_00: And his, yeah, he messaged me and he's my heels are starting to get closer.
- 17:28SPEAKER_00: And then they touched, I was, oh my gosh, that's amazing.
- 17:31SPEAKER_00: Because he was also not aware that he was also controlling the movement.
- 17:37SPEAKER_00: So for him, for me to guide him through movement and to pause and bring that conscious awareness to, hey, you're controlling here.
- 17:48SPEAKER_00: So you're not actually getting your full range.
- 17:51SPEAKER_00: And there is a difference between mobility and range, right?
- 17:54SPEAKER_00: Mobility is that ability to move in alignment without pain.
- 17:59SPEAKER_00: And then there's your range of motion that you have access to.
- 18:03SPEAKER_00: And a lot of times we think our range is less than what we're capable of.
- 18:07SPEAKER_00: And that's because we're just controlling it a lot of the times.
- 18:10SPEAKER_00: I mean, yes, there might be some physical impedements, that's a different story, but most of it is just a thought.
- 18:17SPEAKER_00: Most of it is restriction, a tightness, a whatever you want to call it, and label it.
- 18:21SPEAKER_00: So for him to bring that conscious awareness to his own body through my feedback with him, he was able to then take that to his life and into his life while on his own and be, okay, where am I still kind of gripping here?
- 18:37SPEAKER_00: Oh, remember when I was on the table, she told me this.
- 18:40SPEAKER_00: Okay, let's play with that here.
- 18:41SPEAKER_00: So, my big also vision is to put these tools into your life so that you have more access to you, and then you're not a hundred percent reliant on somebody else, me or anyone.
- 18:53SPEAKER_01: So you're saying it's not like therapy where there's no end in sight?
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: I mean, if I could get stretched every single day for the rest of my life, I totally would take that.
- 19:02SPEAKER_01: But how many people have said they've been with the same therapist for decades?
- 19:06SPEAKER_00: Well, is that a good thing?
- 19:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean, I think it's because we like certain people and we're always going through things.
- 19:15SPEAKER_00: And and that's uh I think a distinction between some of what's coming out in the industry is this mechanical, more conveyor belt approach to a client and whatnot, versus some people who are getting more original trainings where it is a full session.
- 19:35SPEAKER_00: You you're not bouncing between facilitators, you are with someone because we get to know your body, but also your nervous system gets to know us.
- 19:46SPEAKER_00: Your nervous system gets to put down those barriers.
- 19:49SPEAKER_00: And that's a big difference between like a big question I always get is what's the difference between a stretch and massage?
- 19:55SPEAKER_00: They're very different, they have two different intentions.
- 19:59SPEAKER_00: And why so many massage therapists are getting trained in some sort of stretch therapy is that nervous system aspect, because we bring the nervous system on board through movement.
- 20:13SPEAKER_00: Because we live our life through movement, we're not supposed to be stagnant.
- 20:16SPEAKER_00: And so that release, relaxation, movement, and then nervous system coming on board with that is that missing link.
- 20:26SPEAKER_00: And when someone's body gets comfortable with the movement, gets comfortable with someone's touch, we're energetic, we're very, we're very up and close to you.
- 20:36SPEAKER_00: Yes, you're fully clothed in our sessions, but we're right there.
- 20:40SPEAKER_00: Your body's right there with ours.
- 20:42SPEAKER_00: There is a level of preference that each client has.
- 20:46SPEAKER_00: Some people don't like that I, whatever, or client loves that I, whatever, right?
- 20:51SPEAKER_00: So it is preferential, but we want the nervous system to start to let those barriers go so that the facilitator, practitioner can start to work, but that the body, their body, opens up to them.
- 21:04SPEAKER_01: So huge sense of safety in order to Yeah.
- 21:08SPEAKER_01: So for anybody who needs to end this podcast right now, but or wants to take a pause for a second to really see what you're talking about visually, tell us where to find you on Instagram in particular, because you have really great videos that show exactly what you're talking about, show you working with the client and you will have clothes on.
- 21:29SPEAKER_01: So tell us your handle.
- 21:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so it's acacia db or acacia.db wellness.
- 21:37SPEAKER_00: Is that right?
- 21:38SPEAKER_00: acacia db.wellness.
- 21:40SPEAKER_00: There we go, or acacia debat.com.
- 21:42SPEAKER_00: That's my Instagram.
- 21:43SPEAKER_00: I hang out most of the time there.
- 21:45SPEAKER_00: You're gonna see a variety of more stretch content, emotional content, movement content.
- 21:51SPEAKER_00: And if you're in the Mexico area, but you can search me.
- 21:54SPEAKER_00: I do one-on-one sessions, and then if you're not in the area and you want to work together, I do do more of the inner.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: Energetic side.
- 22:01SPEAKER_00: And then I always encourage you to come take a three-day vacation for you.
- 22:04SPEAKER_00: And I just give you all the hands-on care and attention in three days.
- 22:09SPEAKER_00: It's a devoted time of so much self-care in 72 hours so that your body gets an understanding of what it means, what is like physically perfect.
- 22:21SPEAKER_01: And I was just looking at the timing.
- 22:23SPEAKER_01: So let me ask you one question that you will then answer in the newsletter.
- 22:29SPEAKER_01: And let me choose.
- 22:31SPEAKER_01: You use the phrase manifest your body just like you manifest your life.
- 22:36SPEAKER_01: What does that mean to you in practical terms?
- 22:39SPEAKER_01: And that'll be in the newsletter.
- 22:40SPEAKER_01: So jump over to my newsletter and she will answer it there.
- 22:44SPEAKER_01: And then is social media the best place to get into your world?
- 22:49SPEAKER_01: Is it your website?
- 22:51SPEAKER_01: Do you have a newsletter?
- 22:51SPEAKER_01: How do we jump on it?
- 22:53SPEAKER_01: Tell us all of the details.
- 22:55SPEAKER_00: I think that Instagram is the best place to jump into my world.
- 22:58SPEAKER_00: I'm multidimensional, multi-faceted faceted.
- 23:01SPEAKER_00: I you'll will see a different style of things.
- 23:05SPEAKER_00: So that's kind of where you can start to pick your own adventure.
- 23:08SPEAKER_00: And then I do have a newsletter.
- 23:10SPEAKER_00: It's not very active, but that's where I do updates.
- 23:13SPEAKER_00: So if I've got a new offer coming, or if I'm working specifically, if I go back for Christmas to Canada, I'll offer clients in that location.
- 23:22SPEAKER_00: So that's kind of how you'll guarantee know what's going on in my world.
- 23:26SPEAKER_00: But also, I'm a text kind of girl.
- 23:30SPEAKER_00: So connect with me in the DMs.
- 23:32SPEAKER_00: And if you're interested in working together or collaborating on something, I'm just kind of a bit more old school.
- 23:38SPEAKER_00: Let's just have a conversation and see where it goes and then create from there, whether that's one-on-one work or a partnership of some sort.
- 23:46SPEAKER_01: And you also said that you work in retreats so people can hire you for retreats.
- 23:52SPEAKER_00: One of my focuses moving forward is actually to put my work, and I've been doing it in a couple retreats so far.
- 24:00SPEAKER_00: Is we're all used to massages when we go to retreats.
- 24:03SPEAKER_00: It's a very just common thing to have.
- 24:05SPEAKER_00: And I'm let's do the stretch.
- 24:08SPEAKER_00: And let's have your clients receive your work in a deeper cellular level because they're less guarded in their body physically, so that they will be in the retreat more open with less physical restriction.
- 24:24SPEAKER_00: And the retreats that I have done it at, I've seen a few ladies return and it's noticeable how much their body softens is noticeable to the retreat host that sees that their client is taking the yoga more openly, it's taking the content more openly, they're more relaxed.
- 24:44SPEAKER_00: Just in general, they're taking the movement portion of that retreat more openly because I've spent an hour with them, usually, depending on the time frame of the retreat, once or twice within that time period.
- 24:57SPEAKER_00: And so I work with retreat hosts that are about elevating the client experience.
- 25:04SPEAKER_00: So it's not a question as your client getting this, it's it's on the schedule for them.
- 25:09SPEAKER_00: They know that their body is being taken care of, and it makes the whole experience sink in deeper.
- 25:17SPEAKER_01: Totally makes sense.
- 25:18SPEAKER_01: And that makes me more excited to work with you through that.
- 25:22SPEAKER_01: I've definitely have already connected you with people, different people who I know do retreats.
- 25:26SPEAKER_01: So I'm excited for you.
- 25:28SPEAKER_01: Thank you for being on and for just being part of my world.
- 25:33SPEAKER_01: I've it's left me a lot of time to think about, like I said, my own wellness journey and things that I can add in.
- 25:40SPEAKER_01: I'm still navigating since my car accident two years ago.
- 25:44SPEAKER_01: What do I really need?
- 25:45SPEAKER_01: And it feels like that is a piece of what I need.
- 25:48SPEAKER_01: So I'm excited for that.
- 25:50SPEAKER_01: And it I've done several deep dives on longevity, and I know that this is a huge key to that because seeing people as they age, seeing myself as I've aged, knowing that balance is important, muscles are important, and range of movement and being in tune with my body.
- 26:16SPEAKER_01: There's so many aspects that you talked about, how important all of that is to staying out of the nursing home as long as possible.
- 26:25SPEAKER_01: And if we do need to go in one, not having as much care, not needing as much care and living longer.
- 26:33SPEAKER_01: That is my goal in life.
- 26:34SPEAKER_01: And that's the goal that I have for all of my listeners is let's live as long as possible and as well as possible along the way.
- 26:43SPEAKER_01: So you are very vital to this plan.
- 26:47SPEAKER_01: So thank you.
- 26:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, thank you.
