- 0:01Speaker 1: Minnesota Vikings fans, Welcome back to the Purple People Eaters Podcast.
- 0:06Speaker 1: He's there and I'm Chris, and we're here to talk
- 0:09Speaker 1: about what has been a full week. Last week explosive,
- 0:14Speaker 1: some may say. Now the first maybe six to twelve
- 0:19Speaker 1: hours of it. Boy, were folks freaking out on Twitter.
- 0:23Speaker 2: My goodness, gracious the things that were said about Quasi.
- 0:29Speaker 2: We're pretty ridiculous, man, pretty ridiculous, slash ignorant, slash. Well,
- 0:34Speaker 2: I'll just stop right there. I think you know where
- 0:36Speaker 2: I'm going. But we're gonna talk about it, man, I
- 0:39Speaker 2: mean talk about a load. You know, the interior of
- 0:44Speaker 2: the offensive line and the defensive line has needed help
- 0:47Speaker 2: for quite some time.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Help is on the way. We made a trade, we
- 0:52Speaker 1: re signed, you know, a couple guys that we had.
- 0:55Speaker 1: We've recently made some trades and cut some signings and
- 0:59Speaker 1: all that, and so we're gonna break it all down,
- 1:02Speaker 1: give our thoughts on the the batch of players that
- 1:06Speaker 1: are coming in. And then you know, of course, the
- 1:09Speaker 1: Aaron Rodgers saga has begun. It's been going on for
- 1:14Speaker 1: a while. It sounds like sounds like we're in the
- 1:18Speaker 1: mix the Jets and the Steelers. You know they got
- 1:26Speaker 1: contract offers for him, but does he want to come
- 1:29Speaker 1: here for a year. We'll see. So we'll talk about
- 1:33Speaker 1: other things like, you know what this means for the draft,
- 1:38Speaker 1: somewhat possibly signing a third wide receiver, just just maybe
- 1:43Speaker 1: more around the edges type stuff that Actually Quazy's damn
- 1:48Speaker 1: good at. You know, it's not just the extension deals
- 1:51Speaker 1: and the timely extensions for solid players that become more
- 1:55Speaker 1: than just solid players. So we'll talk about it. And
- 2:02Speaker 1: you know, it's time to extend Quazy by the way,
- 2:04Speaker 1: So yeah, we'll talk all about it. This really helps
- 2:06Speaker 1: our draft in general. Yeah, we don't have a lot
- 2:09Speaker 1: of picks, but man, the flexibility is there. So we're
- 2:12Speaker 1: gonna we're gonna break it all down on the Purple
- 2:15Speaker 1: People Eaters Podcast. If this is your first time listening, welcome.

- 3:33Speaker 1: That's one oh four ninety nine a month for the
- 3:36Speaker 1: first three months. Okay, let's go ahead and bring in
- 3:41Speaker 1: my co host Aaron as we break down what has
- 3:45Speaker 1: been an eventful offseason for our favorite team, the Vikes.
- 3:50Speaker 1: What's going on, Anne, how you doing?
- 3:52Speaker 3: Buddy hey Man? Excited to be back. So yeah, what
- 3:55Speaker 3: an eventful week.
- 3:56Speaker 1: We had.
- 3:58Speaker 3: Maybe planned to do this show last week. Life got
- 4:01Speaker 3: in the way, and kind of thank god it did,
- 4:03Speaker 3: because during the span of that week kind of wrapped
- 4:06Speaker 3: up our whole free agency experience in that, you know,
- 4:09Speaker 3: we were talking about offensive line. We need a little
- 4:11Speaker 3: bit of help there. Defensive line. I mean three four,
- 4:15Speaker 3: five years we've been talking about that, and that's the
- 4:18Speaker 3: first thing they addressed. I mean, they got two offensive linemen,
- 4:21Speaker 3: two defensive linemen, and you know, for whatever it's worth, uh,
- 4:26Speaker 3: you know, it's an upgrade for sure. It's not Jonathan Bullard,
- 4:29Speaker 3: it's not you know, Jalen Redman. It's it's you know,
- 4:34Speaker 3: solid vets, proven vets on both sides of the line.
- 4:39Speaker 3: There's some questions of injury, which we'll get into a
- 4:42Speaker 3: little bit, but you know that happens. It's the NFL,
- 4:45Speaker 3: and if you want to get a bunch of players,
- 4:47Speaker 3: you can't really sign, you know, the top tier guys
- 4:51Speaker 3: that are gonna take your whole cap space. And I know,
- 4:54Speaker 3: like you said, people were losing their minds first day
- 4:57Speaker 3: free agency, and I think it was even before free
- 4:59Speaker 3: agency open. It was still in the legal tampering period. Yeah,
- 5:03Speaker 3: people were because the Bears made traits to get out
- 5:05Speaker 3: ahead of the market. It wasn't like Quays was sitting there.
- 5:08Speaker 3: You know, watching the Bears take these players and you know,
- 5:12Speaker 3: so yeah, a lot of things were said about Quazy.
- 5:14Speaker 3: I think he's done a great job, not only with
- 5:16Speaker 3: the signings but the contracts. I mean, guys that you
- 5:20Speaker 3: have some question marks about their two year deals, you know,
- 5:23Speaker 3: with the way to get out of them. Just smart
- 5:26Speaker 3: work with him and Brazinski together really just have been
- 5:30Speaker 3: really impressive free agencies for two seasons now. And we
- 5:33Speaker 3: went over you know, like last year you got you know,
- 5:36Speaker 3: Grenard for three, Vankinkle for two, you brought Cashman in
- 5:41Speaker 3: for three, all players that contributed and did a very
- 5:44Speaker 3: good job. And you can't help but expect that with
- 5:48Speaker 3: these players this year now. Maybe we start with the
- 5:51Speaker 3: offensive line. You signed well Fry as a tackle for
- 5:53Speaker 3: I think five years, eighty eight million. He had a
- 5:57Speaker 3: little injury problem. I think he's the one that broke
- 6:00Speaker 3: his tibia, which is one of the lower bones on
- 6:02Speaker 3: the leg that happens a heels up. I think it's
- 6:06Speaker 3: not like an mcl or an ACL or something like
- 6:08Speaker 3: that where he's got to rehab. It's just a broken bone.
- 6:11Speaker 3: Most people have experienced a broken bone and it heels
- 6:15Speaker 3: and you get out with it. You start to trust
- 6:17Speaker 3: your stuff. And then Ryan Kelly is center now. News
- 6:20Speaker 3: of Today dropped a few minutes before we started the show. Brett,
- 6:24Speaker 3: you know, what was your favorite Garrett Bradbury moment after
- 6:29Speaker 3: over the years you know we've had We've had to
- 6:32Speaker 3: live with the guy. Okay, he plays well in spots
- 6:37Speaker 3: against certain defensive linemen, he'll play well, but then when
- 6:40Speaker 3: he faces you know, guys like Javon Hargrave, guys like
- 6:44Speaker 3: Jonathan Allen, two guys we signed. Has a hard time
- 6:47Speaker 3: with those type of guys. He's not the biggest dude.
- 6:51Speaker 3: And if he's gone, they tried to trade him, found
- 6:54Speaker 3: out his market was next to nothing for a trade.
- 6:57Speaker 3: And we've been saying that for five years. And then
- 7:00Speaker 3: in the midst of those five years and the cousins
- 7:02Speaker 3: getting face planted and all that stuff, you re signed
- 7:06Speaker 3: brad Burry, and it just kind of makes you think
- 7:08Speaker 3: about evaluation. And I've got a lot of questions offensive line, coaching, scouting,
- 7:12Speaker 3: all that stuff. It just there's so many bodies, Chris,
- 7:15Speaker 3: We've gone through so many bodies that it's like, Okay,
- 7:17Speaker 3: is it is it the players or is it the coaching,
- 7:20Speaker 3: or is it the scouting. What is it here that
- 7:23Speaker 3: went through all that and hopefully we've got that dealt
- 7:27Speaker 3: with with these two players, Will Fries and Ryan Kelly.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Yeah, it's funny. Alec Alec Lewis came in a couple
- 7:35Speaker 1: of years ago, very professional reporter came in for the
- 7:40Speaker 1: Athletic to cover the vice I think two three years now,
- 7:43Speaker 1: and he was going down that that that rabbit hole
- 7:50Speaker 1: of guards and said, well, just guards in general, and
- 7:54Speaker 1: he was he was starting to name him on Twitter,
- 7:57Speaker 1: and I was like, yep, we actually there's a long
- 7:59Speaker 1: list here. We've gone through a lot of them and
- 8:02Speaker 1: some of the highlights. Man, I'm sure it. You know,
- 8:06Speaker 1: Cousins has nightmares of it. Just waits out what he
- 8:09Speaker 1: stepped on my foot. So yeah, it's it's been really bad.
- 8:13Speaker 1: It is funny that the first year without Cousins, all
- 8:18Speaker 1: of a sudden, a lot of these media members and
- 8:20Speaker 1: I'm not talking about Alec now it's a problem. Now.
- 8:24Speaker 1: We need to fix it, man, we need to fix this, bro,
- 8:27Speaker 1: can't you see It's like, yeah, we've been saying that.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Now obviously this year we have a money to bring
- 8:32Speaker 1: in multiple guys, so I really really like it like
- 8:38Speaker 1: you said, with Ryan Kelly, you got a taller, bigger,
- 8:41Speaker 1: just more solid guy. And the combination of just him
- 8:46Speaker 1: being solid right for for you know, gives us The
- 8:50Speaker 1: two things that really stand out is one he's played
- 8:52Speaker 1: with Will Fries and two, you know, it gives us
- 8:57Speaker 1: time to find a center now you know, I know
- 9:00Speaker 1: we have one on the team. You never know, I suppose,
- 9:03Speaker 1: but you know, anywhere from the second to fifth round,
- 9:06Speaker 1: sixth round, you can usually find him and plug him
- 9:10Speaker 1: in after a year or two sitting on the bench.
- 9:12Speaker 1: So I think that gives us some time. But yeah,
- 9:14Speaker 1: like you said, just just the sheer size, because you know,
- 9:18Speaker 1: we'd hear about how quick Bradburry was, and yeah he
- 9:23Speaker 1: was a good run blocker to an extent, but you know, overall,
- 9:28Speaker 1: once you got into the playoffs at big games, he
- 9:30Speaker 1: would fall apart, no doubt about it. So you can't
- 9:34Speaker 1: to constantly have pressure coming up from all three inside.
- 9:38Speaker 1: It's really bad. And the funny thing is we were
- 9:42Speaker 1: just talking about that before we hit recording her, and
- 9:44Speaker 1: that that actually was one of our best interior lines
- 9:49Speaker 1: since twenty seventeen. But it still wasn't up to par obviously,
- 9:55Speaker 1: But it actually with Riisner in Brendel. Those are like
- 9:59Speaker 1: the guys actually were you know, at least adequate. But yeah,
- 10:04Speaker 1: I'm really happy with that Kelly. Like you said, he
- 10:06Speaker 1: did have some injury concerns lately, and so it does
- 10:11Speaker 1: line up deal wise. So you get a big, strapping
- 10:15Speaker 1: guy like that. And then Will Fryes is a guy
- 10:17Speaker 1: that's coming into his prime. You know, he's about to
- 10:20Speaker 1: be twenty seven. He's started plenty of games, he's played
- 10:25Speaker 1: off the bench in plenty of games. But you are
- 10:29Speaker 1: right about that. Earlier in week five he did fracture
- 10:32Speaker 1: his tivious So I really like that just in general.
- 10:37Speaker 1: And I guess in the last twenty twenty two they started,
- 10:42Speaker 1: he started nine of those sixteen and all of them
- 10:44Speaker 1: in twenty twenty three, and so some of them were
- 10:47Speaker 1: right by Kelly. So just to already have and you know,
- 10:50Speaker 1: I've seen kind of the highlights, right and something will
- 10:54Speaker 1: make you look really good. These aren't perfect guys or whatever,
- 10:57Speaker 1: but you know, Fryes has really developed of late, and
- 11:00Speaker 1: he may even have another notch to him. And I
- 11:03Speaker 1: think that's why you saw that kind of deal where
- 11:07Speaker 1: they get you through your whole prime so that is
- 11:10Speaker 1: a big improvement, and now you know, maybe it's Brandell.
- 11:16Speaker 1: My guess is that Riisner will find a home because
- 11:21Speaker 1: he's solid, but he does cost a little bit more
- 11:25Speaker 1: than just a veteran minimum, you know, So I'm guessing
- 11:28Speaker 1: he'll probably sign someplace else. Now, if he wants to
- 11:31Speaker 1: come back here and be depth or the starting left guard,
- 11:34Speaker 1: I'm all for it. I just love the dude's energy.
- 11:37Speaker 1: He's a good pass blocker. You know, he's like thirty
- 11:40Speaker 1: I think, just short of thirty or something like that.
- 11:42Speaker 1: I'm not trying to sell him like we have to
- 11:44Speaker 1: sign him, but my guess is he'll find a home
- 11:47Speaker 1: someplace in Brandell. We had just gave him that two
- 11:51Speaker 1: or three year deal something like that. So when you
- 11:54Speaker 1: look at the analytics and you could just see with
- 11:56Speaker 1: your eyes the second Darisa went out, his numbers went
- 11:59Speaker 1: down overall, didn't play as well. And with their you know,
- 12:03Speaker 1: to have the book ends, especially Garris on the blind side,
- 12:07Speaker 1: that dude, can you know, we've seen him literally block
- 12:11Speaker 1: two dudes you know on the same play and spin
- 12:14Speaker 1: and block some other dude. You know, So you get
- 12:16Speaker 1: him back, you got the book ends. And now you've
- 12:19Speaker 1: got a legit, big old you know center and he solid.
- 12:24Speaker 1: So these guys are above average. Maybe they'll play great.
- 12:28Speaker 1: I don't know, we'll see, but there are they. It's
- 12:31Speaker 1: an investment that we needed to make. And it's not
- 12:35Speaker 1: just you know, the pressure up the middle. We we've
- 12:38Speaker 1: had short yardage issues. We've we've documented that so many
- 12:41Speaker 1: times there and fucking like two years ago, our best
- 12:44Speaker 1: short yardage was like sending Cousins on a QB sneak
- 12:49Speaker 1: and he's not a big dude. You don't It's not
- 12:51Speaker 1: like it's Josh Allen or some big dude that's you
- 12:54Speaker 1: know that that's part of your playbook. You don't want
- 12:56Speaker 1: to keep doing that. So I think the combination of
- 13:00Speaker 1: not getting pressure up the gut as much, especially right away,
- 13:03Speaker 1: and sometimes not even having to send blitzers and that
- 13:06Speaker 1: obviously we know what that does for edge rushers, you know,
- 13:10Speaker 1: and when your quarterback has to adjust more, it just
- 13:14Speaker 1: hurts you on the edges regardless. And then you also
- 13:18Speaker 1: have more holes to run behind. And we'll obviously get
- 13:23Speaker 1: we'll stay on the oppensive side for now and then
- 13:26Speaker 1: we'll go defense just to keep it organized. But I really,
- 13:30Speaker 1: really like it. And then we got like the swing
- 13:32Speaker 1: tackle Justin Scully or Skull or Scully who might might
- 13:36Speaker 1: be like Brandall from a couple of years ago where
- 13:39Speaker 1: he came in and he was pretty solid. That's what
- 13:41Speaker 1: a lot of people are saying about this. I don't
- 13:43Speaker 1: know how good this guy is, but just depth wise,
- 13:47Speaker 1: with some other guys we got, I really think we
- 13:50Speaker 1: shored that up man. And like I said, if we
- 13:53Speaker 1: could bring Riisner for a starting left guard to if
- 13:57Speaker 1: it's Brandle and Riisner going to battle it out for
- 14:01Speaker 1: one position, we're in pretty good shape at that point.
- 14:04Speaker 1: If that's your weakest links.
- 14:06Speaker 3: Yeah, Brandle, Riisner and a rookie, this is what I
- 14:09Speaker 3: would think. Try to draft a kid or get somebody
- 14:13Speaker 3: in undrafted free agency. Obviously you want to put someone
- 14:17Speaker 3: with some skill in there because you're gonna have. You know,
- 14:20Speaker 3: you're only as good as your weakest link on the
- 14:21Speaker 3: offensive line, and if that's gonna be left guard, you
- 14:26Speaker 3: know you're gonna be next to Darrisa, so that'll help
- 14:28Speaker 3: you out. Like you said, and I think you're right
- 14:30Speaker 3: about Brandle's play how it declined post derris On here
- 14:35Speaker 3: was actually pretty good before that and like, and then
- 14:38Speaker 3: your point about the line last year being the best one.
- 14:41Speaker 3: I mean, we definitely, you know, scoffed at it. But
- 14:44Speaker 3: you know, PFF had them rated like number one run
- 14:47Speaker 3: blocking line and we're like, really, are you sure about that?
- 14:50Speaker 3: Have you seen as in short yardage? And that's really
- 14:54Speaker 3: the improvement that I'm looking for is the short yardage.
- 14:56Speaker 3: I mean, if you can start to convert third and
- 14:59Speaker 3: two with a run play or you know, third and
- 15:02Speaker 3: goal from the half yard line with a run play
- 15:05Speaker 3: like every normal football team does, instead of you know,
- 15:09Speaker 3: some kind of trickeration or slant that Sam missed or
- 15:12Speaker 3: whatever it was from an obvious running play situation. Now
- 15:17Speaker 3: it'll be interesting to see, depending on the quarterback, how
- 15:20Speaker 3: that works out. You know, JJ is probably going to
- 15:22Speaker 3: require better run games, So now you've kind of facilitated
- 15:25Speaker 3: that and better protection, you know, facilitated that if these
- 15:32Speaker 3: guys stay healthy and play up to what they're supposed
- 15:35Speaker 3: to play. And you know, I liked your point about
- 15:37Speaker 3: Fries being young coming into his prime, and that's why
- 15:40Speaker 3: I got the five year deal. So he's here, you
- 15:42Speaker 3: know for a while, Kelly, like you said, might be
- 15:43Speaker 3: a stop gap for a little while until you can
- 15:47Speaker 3: either bring up a center or sign a different one,
- 15:50Speaker 3: or maybe Kelly sticks, you know, but it's nice to
- 15:53Speaker 3: have those two together have familiarity, so it's not like
- 15:56Speaker 3: everybody's learning everybody. And at this point, as far as
- 15:59Speaker 3: the interior year goes, I mean, I'd rather take the
- 16:02Speaker 3: advice of Kelly and fry as opposed to what would
- 16:05Speaker 3: have been brad Berry and Brandle. I mean, those guys
- 16:09Speaker 3: should learn from from Kelly and Fryes at that point.
- 16:12Speaker 3: So I think that it's solid inside. It'll be interesting
- 16:14Speaker 3: to see what they do with the left side next
- 16:16Speaker 3: to Darrisaw and hopefully they just don't lean too hard
- 16:19Speaker 3: on that because you know, you need Derisoft free to
- 16:22Speaker 3: do what he does, so you need to find another
- 16:24Speaker 3: part there, at least someone League average or better. And
- 16:28Speaker 3: you know, I guess I'm not a huge fan of
- 16:30Speaker 3: it being Reisner, but if it is, because we know Reisner's,
- 16:34Speaker 3: you know, good pass blocker, not a great run block
- 16:37Speaker 3: maybe Derisa can make up for that a little bit.
- 16:41Speaker 3: And then you had Ingram who got traded, which was amazing,
- 16:44Speaker 3: we got anything for him. He was a good run blocker,
- 16:47Speaker 3: not a good pass blocker, and so if you could
- 16:49Speaker 3: just combine Ingram and yeah, one guard you know would
- 16:54Speaker 3: have been he would have had a decent guard there.
- 16:57Speaker 3: But no, I like it too offensively. It just changes
- 17:01Speaker 3: the outlook, you know, of of the offense, and I
- 17:04Speaker 3: think you're gonna see it noticeable, whether it's Rogers, Cousins JJ.
- 17:11Speaker 3: You know, it'd be nice to kind of have Cousins
- 17:13Speaker 3: come back and and then and have an offensive line
- 17:16Speaker 3: and see what how that goes. I think he probably
- 17:18Speaker 3: had a pretty good one in Atlanta though, and he
- 17:20Speaker 3: didn't have the greatest year, but he's coming off and Achilles.
- 17:24Speaker 1: Rightly going well.
- 17:25Speaker 3: But that's down the road. Other offensive thing. We made
- 17:28Speaker 3: a trade for a running back, which I was a
- 17:31Speaker 3: little surprised by because I thought we'd lean on the
- 17:33Speaker 3: draft for that. I'm glad we didn't, because I'm glad.
- 17:37Speaker 3: This Mason kid, we've seen him against us last year,
- 17:41Speaker 3: ran the hell out of the ball. He's a bigger back.
- 17:44Speaker 3: Speaking of short yardage. It seems to be like that's
- 17:46Speaker 3: a guy you can count on you a little better
- 17:48Speaker 3: than Madison was, but kind of thick and built like Madison,
- 17:53Speaker 3: and he can run the ball. We've seen it against us.
- 17:55Speaker 3: We know what's going on there. So now Jones re
- 17:57Speaker 3: signs and I thought the number was US. Yeah, okay,
- 18:01Speaker 3: maybe could have got cheaper, but if you really wanted
- 18:04Speaker 3: to keep Jones, I guess you gotta pay what you
- 18:05Speaker 3: want to pay him essentially a one year deal. It's
- 18:07Speaker 3: really and he was.
- 18:08Speaker 1: Product you know, the productivity was there.
- 18:10Speaker 3: Yeah, and you keep his carries down, you know, and
- 18:13Speaker 3: exactly get him on screens and check downs and occasional
- 18:19Speaker 3: running plays. I think that's a really good signing to
- 18:22Speaker 3: have Jones Mason, and I think you're gonna look to
- 18:25Speaker 3: find a rookie uh there too in the draft, especially
- 18:29Speaker 3: if you can accumulate more picks. Right now, I think
- 18:31Speaker 3: they sit with four, which isn't that many. And and
- 18:35Speaker 3: but you know, with these signings, it's made it's loosened
- 18:39Speaker 3: up the draft a lot. And so you you know,
- 18:41Speaker 3: take the best player, if that happens to be one
- 18:42Speaker 3: of the Ohio State kids are running back, or let's
- 18:45Speaker 3: say you find the center of the Georgia kid or
- 18:48Speaker 3: or Seth McLoughlin ot Ohio State or whatever it is
- 18:51Speaker 3: you freeze. You have to start, you know, having some
- 18:53Speaker 3: fluidity draft wise instead of just going in like we
- 18:56Speaker 3: need you tackle, we need guard, we need center, we
- 18:59Speaker 3: need running back. It's not necessarily the same there. And
- 19:02Speaker 3: then you wanted to talk a little bit, and I
- 19:04Speaker 3: think it's a really good talker offensively about a third
- 19:07Speaker 3: wide receiver. Obviously we haven't signed one and free agency yet.
- 19:13Speaker 3: I think there's a need there strictly at Maddison's going
- 19:17Speaker 3: to miss at least three games with the suspension, so
- 19:20Speaker 3: that leads you with Naylor and Jefferson as your top two.
- 19:23Speaker 3: You have Powell and some Sherfield and some guys that
- 19:27Speaker 3: you probably could play. But yeah, I mean, if you
- 19:31Speaker 3: can get another one, I don't know who's out there, Chris,
- 19:33Speaker 3: but I think that's a place that needs to be
- 19:35Speaker 3: short up a little bit too. Offensively, there's not a
- 19:37Speaker 3: lot of holes. Now that you've fixed to of the
- 19:39Speaker 3: offensive line spots, you can start to focus on a
- 19:42Speaker 3: little bit of skill position stuff.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think Sherfield wins someplace pretty sure. But
- 19:50Speaker 1: Powell is a last checked anyway, is a free agent,
- 19:55Speaker 1: so he could come back. But the fact that there's
- 19:59Speaker 1: so many have him and some of the big names
- 20:02Speaker 1: will still you know, it'll probably be too much money,
- 20:06Speaker 1: but I think bang for your buck. I think we
- 20:09Speaker 1: can get one, and it may be a bigger name
- 20:13Speaker 1: from a couple of years ago, maybe just a solid player,
- 20:16Speaker 1: but I think ultimately that that is something now that
- 20:22Speaker 1: we're here and you can see the money. I do
- 20:25Speaker 1: think that they'll get a third wide receiver, and I
- 20:29Speaker 1: wouldn't doubt if they brought back Paul in him. It
- 20:31Speaker 1: kind of matters who who it is, you know, and
- 20:34Speaker 1: if they did actually spend a little bit of loop
- 20:36Speaker 1: for him. But I think it is key why not
- 20:40Speaker 1: for one? And who knows, maybe it will be a
- 20:42Speaker 1: guy that does have a few years left in him
- 20:45Speaker 1: and we may have to pivot off, you know, Addison
- 20:48Speaker 1: at some point, you never know. He keeps putting up numbers.
- 20:53Speaker 1: He may want to get someplace number one money and
- 20:57Speaker 1: someone will probably give that to him as long as
- 20:58Speaker 1: he doesn't, you know, his antics off the field to
- 21:02Speaker 1: him down a little bit. But who knows. Maybe I
- 21:05Speaker 1: just think someone will throw some money at him where
- 21:08Speaker 1: it won't work for us anymore. So Yeah, I think
- 21:11Speaker 1: a third wide receiver will happen. I'm very confident of that.
- 21:15Speaker 1: Just looking at kind of back to the line before Darisa. Right,
- 21:21Speaker 1: his overall PFF Brandell was sixty three, pass block sixty
- 21:27Speaker 1: three point eight, run block sixty five blah blahlah blah.
- 21:30Speaker 1: But he only has he only allowed in seven games
- 21:32Speaker 1: two sacks and ten pressures in seven games and then
- 21:35Speaker 1: other ten games. About Derisa, it dropped off pretty good
- 21:40Speaker 1: five sacks and also he went from ten to thirty one.
- 21:44Speaker 1: So I can't say that it's all Dearrisa. I think
- 21:48Speaker 1: there is some things that asked him to do Aaron
- 21:51Speaker 1: that he hadn't put on tape yet because he had
- 21:55Speaker 1: mostly put on tackle take right, he hadn't he hadn't
- 21:59Speaker 1: really played guard for us, So I think some of
- 22:01Speaker 1: that had to do with, Okay, we found his weakness
- 22:05Speaker 1: and maybe he's gonna work on that.
- 22:07Speaker 3: Who knows.
- 22:08Speaker 1: He's still a guy that you know. We did move
- 22:11Speaker 1: from tackle to guard, as we've had plenty of those
- 22:14Speaker 1: over the years, and it kind of makes you your
- 22:17Speaker 1: head spin when you hear that, oh, another tackle to guard. Okay, great,
- 22:22Speaker 1: but this one did work out pretty solidly and he's affordable.
- 22:27Speaker 1: By the way that according to Alec Lewis, the Vikings,
- 22:30Speaker 1: you know, releasing Bradbury, it's a post June cut, which
- 22:34Speaker 1: saves about five point two five million on the cap.
- 22:38Speaker 1: Obviously you know that June cut, so that might be
- 22:42Speaker 1: an extension that we come up with later. But man,
- 22:46Speaker 1: when you look at like I said, just kind of
- 22:48Speaker 1: going back to that line before we go to the defense,
- 22:51Speaker 1: like Kelly Man as a starter, like you said he has,
- 22:55Speaker 1: he's had some injuries or whatever, but like he has
- 22:59Speaker 1: bare Like he his numbers not even just looking at
- 23:03Speaker 1: just looking at pressures and stuff like that. The last
- 23:07Speaker 1: two years only eighteen pressures.
- 23:11Speaker 3: You know.
- 23:11Speaker 1: He last season he had six hundred and one snap snaps,
- 23:15Speaker 1: just one sack allowed, one penalty, one QB hit allowed. Dude,
- 23:21Speaker 1: that's huge. Just the QB hit is big. And over
- 23:26Speaker 1: eight years, one hundred and twenty one starts, he's only
- 23:28Speaker 1: giving up ten QB hits. Now, obviously that has to
- 23:32Speaker 1: do with the QB as well, but man, that that
- 23:37Speaker 1: would be pretty damn impressive. Uh, if we could just
- 23:40Speaker 1: get eighty percent of that where his fries like like
- 23:44Speaker 1: you even mentioned too, like it's a long, long term deal,
- 23:48Speaker 1: he should be pretty solid. Hopefully he's back from that
- 23:50Speaker 1: injury and he's good to go. But yeah, I didn't
- 23:53Speaker 1: anticipate them signing a third wide receiver. I gotta admit,
- 23:59Speaker 1: like at the end of the year, per se, because
- 24:02Speaker 1: some of the you know, some of the guys they'd mentioned,
- 24:04Speaker 1: It's like, dude, Mike, what are you talking about? Man, Like,
- 24:07Speaker 1: we're not going to give another guy thirty mil? You know,
- 24:10Speaker 1: So that that's kind of what I But now that
- 24:12Speaker 1: you see the market and what's available and who's been cut,
- 24:15Speaker 1: then you're like, wow, so maybe it's still a trade.
- 24:19Speaker 1: I maybe, but I think there's enough on the market.
- 24:23Speaker 1: I think it'll take a while, though, you know, I
- 24:25Speaker 1: think it'll take a little while. Even Diggs hasn't signed
- 24:28Speaker 1: as far as I I know. I'm not saying we're
- 24:30Speaker 1: gonna bring back Digs, but and I don't think he'd
- 24:34Speaker 1: want to come here, to be honest with me, because
- 24:37Speaker 1: I guess he is getting older. But financially, I think
- 24:40Speaker 1: you just get more money someplace else. But yeah, I
- 24:44Speaker 1: think the third wide receiver now makes a whole lot
- 24:46Speaker 1: of sense because of what you mentioned. With at least
- 24:50Speaker 1: a three or three game suspension, could be more, who knows.
- 24:54Speaker 1: But then also, you know, we may have to pivot.
- 24:58Speaker 1: It's a business, right, don't want to pivot off him.
- 25:01Speaker 4: But by the end of next year, we may have
- 25:06Speaker 4: to pivot off him, depending on how the extension uh
- 25:10Speaker 4: talks are going, you know.
- 25:13Speaker 3: Yeah, And like I said, we like Addison play on
- 25:16Speaker 3: the field, yes, you know, like his little stanky armed
- 25:20Speaker 3: and used to be the stinky leg with this a
- 25:22Speaker 3: little stinky arm thing. He's a great ride receiver, could
- 25:27Speaker 3: be he will be great. And so you're gonna there's
- 25:31Speaker 3: a market for him if if you move on. I
- 25:33Speaker 3: think I agree with you that he's gonna look for
- 25:35Speaker 3: number one targets. He's gonna look for number one money,
- 25:39Speaker 3: and that's just something we can't We got a lot
- 25:41Speaker 3: of money tied up the wide receiver as it is,
- 25:44Speaker 3: we might not be able to afford that. Definitely, he's
- 25:47Speaker 3: not gonna be number one on this team as long
- 25:49Speaker 3: as Jefferson's here, and so he's a luxury at this point.
- 25:54Speaker 1: Uh.
- 25:54Speaker 3: And so yeah, I think probably end up pivoting off
- 25:56Speaker 3: him at some point. You know, maybe they make a
- 25:59Speaker 3: deal to year for picks, bring feeling back or some
- 26:02Speaker 3: weird stuff for three. I don't know, but yeah, Addison's
- 26:07Speaker 3: a movable part there. And so yeah, I think you
- 26:09Speaker 3: need to find three and four. You know, for the future,
- 26:14Speaker 3: maybe a draft pick could be free agent guys, because,
- 26:19Speaker 3: like I said, there's some guys out there, serviceable NFL
- 26:21Speaker 3: receivers that you can bring in to fill those spots.
- 26:26Speaker 3: And JJ's gonna need that, you know, just to have that.
- 26:32Speaker 3: It's a pretty good job actually, because Jefferson's drawn all
- 26:34Speaker 3: that coverage. As a three, you're rarely on the field,
- 26:38Speaker 3: but when you are, you should be open if you're
- 26:40Speaker 3: any good, So so that works out. Yeah, back to
- 26:44Speaker 3: the line quickly before we go on to defense. I
- 26:48Speaker 3: think a lot's gonna count on that left guard position.
- 26:50Speaker 3: Who ends up playing there starts solidifying it. You can't.
- 26:56Speaker 3: It's very difficult to fill three spots in a season, yeah, adequately.
- 27:03Speaker 3: So I think, you know, unless you draft a kid
- 27:05Speaker 3: that can come in and start, maybe you know Booker
- 27:07Speaker 3: out of Alabama or whatever falls to you, you're gonna
- 27:10Speaker 3: top draft pick or maybe the third round guy. You're
- 27:14Speaker 3: probably looking at Brandle or or Reisner there or another
- 27:18Speaker 3: candidate veteran somewhere. But yeah, that's important spot. Now. Obviously
- 27:23Speaker 3: you want the health of Kelly to remain and fries
- 27:27Speaker 3: to be worth a five year deal, And you know,
- 27:29Speaker 3: I think it's going to raise the attitude of that
- 27:31Speaker 3: line a lot. I think, yes, it'll go from being cerebral,
- 27:34Speaker 3: thinking Bradbury type of thing to maybe a little bit tougher,
- 27:36Speaker 3: a little bit meaner, a little bit of like, you know,
- 27:40Speaker 3: you're not getting past me, dude, you know, sorry, you know.
- 27:43Speaker 3: And I think that'll spread to O'Neil and definitely Derris.
- 27:46Speaker 3: I was already that, So I think that'll fit really
- 27:49Speaker 3: well together. So yeah, so go from one end, I guess,
- 27:53Speaker 3: to the other. We were talking a lot this season
- 27:56Speaker 3: about some of the no name guys on the defensive line,
- 27:59Speaker 3: you know, like it brought a buller and I brought up,
- 28:01Speaker 3: you know, the Redmond Kin and we're just kind of
- 28:03Speaker 3: getting scraps there and we weren't getting a lot of pressure.
- 28:07Speaker 3: And that forced the highest blitz rate in the NFL,
- 28:12Speaker 3: just because it needed to be to get pressure. And
- 28:15Speaker 3: you brought in Grenard last year, You're bringing Van Ginkel.
- 28:19Speaker 3: You know, Harry can still blitz off the edge, but
- 28:22Speaker 3: now you know, things could change a little bit. Blitz
- 28:24Speaker 3: is pulled back a bit because you got Hardgrave and
- 28:29Speaker 3: Jonathan Allen, who's given us fits in the past that
- 28:32Speaker 3: his particular type, his body type, his style of play
- 28:36Speaker 3: caused problems for the old Vikings interior offensive line, and
- 28:41Speaker 3: I can't help but think it's going to do that
- 28:42Speaker 3: for other teams. So now you're gonna get some interior pressure.
- 28:45Speaker 3: These guys will probably be in a rotation with Harrison
- 28:47Speaker 3: Phillips and maybe one of those non name quote unquote
- 28:51Speaker 3: guys that I'm talking about, and maybe a rookie coming
- 28:53Speaker 3: in to be part of that rotation. So now you
- 28:56Speaker 3: got a rotating defensive in tier. You're with some punch
- 29:01Speaker 3: to it to go along with what Brian Flores has
- 29:04Speaker 3: been building for the last two seasons. And you and
- 29:06Speaker 3: I we kind of put our hands together, look to
- 29:08Speaker 3: the sky, and we're hoping that we can pick Flores
- 29:11Speaker 3: for a third season for this particular reason for him
- 29:15Speaker 3: to go shopping again and get guys for his system.
- 29:18Speaker 3: And it happened, And now we're looking at in the
- 29:22Speaker 3: last year, we're thinking top ten defense something like that
- 29:25Speaker 3: in yards because I think that's what this defense you
- 29:27Speaker 3: can't really judge. We talked about that as well, where
- 29:29Speaker 3: it's gonna be more of a scoring defense more than yardedge.
- 29:33Speaker 3: You're probably, but maybe you're gonna be both this year
- 29:36Speaker 3: with these guys. Neither one of them are great run defenders,
- 29:40Speaker 3: but they're great pass rushers, and Phillips is a pretty
- 29:44Speaker 3: good run defender, so you can play him on running downs.
- 29:48Speaker 3: I think almost as good, if not better, as far
- 29:51Speaker 3: as impact on the whole of the defense as opposed
- 29:55Speaker 3: the whole of the offense. Is the signing of those
- 29:57Speaker 3: two guys on the defensive line. It happened. I couldn't
- 30:00Speaker 3: be happier. Finally, you know, the fronts are getting worked on,
- 30:04Speaker 3: maybe not a finished product, but so far down the
- 30:07Speaker 3: road from where it was the last two seasons that
- 30:10Speaker 3: you can't help but be excited about it.
- 30:13Speaker 1: Yeah, and when you have to change your style of
- 30:15Speaker 1: defense and blitz like run blitz so much, it's just
- 30:23Speaker 1: it just it gets in the way, man, Like sometimes
- 30:26Speaker 1: you just want to play a straight up defense and
- 30:28Speaker 1: then have Flores working his genius, you know, and really
- 30:32Speaker 1: hurt people. So yeah, I'm really happy about that because,
- 30:37Speaker 1: like you said, like now we're kind of the free four,
- 30:41Speaker 1: but not really right, but now we have three dudes
- 30:46Speaker 1: that could hold their own and two of them can
- 30:50Speaker 1: get after the quarterback. You know Hardgrave can definitely get
- 30:54Speaker 1: after the quarterback, and Allen is the free down guy,
- 30:58Speaker 1: and the combination of bringing what they bring already so far, right,
- 31:03Speaker 1: and then being that we have some depth there, and
- 31:07Speaker 1: I like what you said there. I think I could
- 31:09Speaker 1: see an interior defensive lineman rookie and him getting being
- 31:15Speaker 1: like the third or fourth guy, fifth guy, you know,
- 31:18Speaker 1: in rotating, in real rotation. So we can keep these
- 31:20Speaker 1: guys fresher than you think, right, And so it's it's
- 31:25Speaker 1: basically Allen, we looked at it before we hit record.
- 31:27Speaker 1: Its like thirty thirty one, thirty two. That's what we
- 31:29Speaker 1: have them for. So that in our grave, you know,
- 31:34Speaker 1: he can hold his ground, but he can definitely get
- 31:36Speaker 1: after it. So to have that we were just talking
- 31:39Speaker 1: about on the other side, to be able to get
- 31:41Speaker 1: that push up the middle, to have the type of
- 31:45Speaker 1: guys we got on the outside, both starters in their backups.
- 31:49Speaker 1: You know, let's not forget about Dallas turn which we
- 31:52Speaker 1: can pivot to in a couple of years. And he's
- 31:55Speaker 1: got four gonna have four years on his deal left
- 31:58Speaker 1: because you know, we're obviously gonna get in that one
- 32:00Speaker 1: year kicker. So I love it. Like you said, man,
- 32:04Speaker 1: and this whole year it's like, man, could you imagine
- 32:08Speaker 1: if we had a big, nasty dude, And that's what
- 32:11Speaker 1: Jonathan Allen is and then Hargrave is just icing on
- 32:15Speaker 1: the cake. And neither of them are super long term,
- 32:18Speaker 1: like you mentioned, they're vets. So it's win now and
- 32:22Speaker 1: maybe maybe Allen signs another deal in a couple of years.
- 32:26Speaker 1: If he's presser, then we think, who knows. But to
- 32:29Speaker 1: have that down the middle, and as you mentioned with
- 32:32Speaker 1: Flora is being able to go up there with the
- 32:35Speaker 1: shopping cart and actually having like a lot of you know,
- 32:38Speaker 1: money on his credit card this year to go into
- 32:42Speaker 1: the store with I absolutely love it. I can't say
- 32:46Speaker 1: enough about it. I mean, it is phenomenal what they
- 32:50Speaker 1: did with that line, and they didn't go crazy. They
- 32:53Speaker 1: probably overpaid for Alan and Fries, but that's that's also
- 32:58Speaker 1: free agency. Well in Murray, we'll get to him in
- 33:01Speaker 1: a second. They probably overpaid that. You know. The thing
- 33:04Speaker 1: about these is once you get another two years, the
- 33:07Speaker 1: CAP's gonna go up, and like it happened, remember it
- 33:09Speaker 1: happened this year where it actually went up even a
- 33:11Speaker 1: little higher than we thought, So it won't look that bad.
- 33:15Speaker 1: And some of these deals look really good for the
- 33:18Speaker 1: first year then they bump up. So yeah, I absolutely
- 33:22Speaker 1: love it to give it doesn't have to be such
- 33:25Speaker 1: a specialty defense now, you know, he can get back
- 33:28Speaker 1: to some of the stuff he's always done as well,
- 33:31Speaker 1: and to be able to contain the run a lot
- 33:35Speaker 1: better without having to use extra guys or wearing down
- 33:40Speaker 1: guys that can be pretty good at it. I can't
- 33:45Speaker 1: say enough about it, man, I'm really excited just on
- 33:48Speaker 1: the defensive interior alone, not even talking about you know,
- 33:53Speaker 1: getting the other guys that you know, I'll let you
- 33:55Speaker 1: go with that two in the linebacker and safety and
- 33:57Speaker 1: cornerback room which we added some all the guys and
- 34:00Speaker 1: obviously Harry coming back to.
- 34:05Speaker 3: Yeah, and like you said about the specialty defense thing,
- 34:08Speaker 3: I think that's a great point. Now you can you know,
- 34:10Speaker 3: maybe you know, base hold them up in first and
- 34:13Speaker 3: second down and then get funky on third down, you know,
- 34:16Speaker 3: like you want to do, or you know, you can
- 34:18Speaker 3: mix it up a little bit more and not have
- 34:20Speaker 3: to be so you know, wow, Flories is you know
- 34:23Speaker 3: working magic and twenty nine blitz right, It's like, okay, yeah,
- 34:27Speaker 3: I don't think he wanted to do that. I don't
- 34:29Speaker 3: think anybody wants to do that. So I think if
- 34:31Speaker 3: you got the guys up front, which you do now.
- 34:35Speaker 3: You know, we were asking for league average or just
- 34:37Speaker 3: guys that could, you know, hold their own, and I
- 34:40Speaker 3: think you're a step above that now, which is really great.
- 34:42Speaker 1: Now.
- 34:43Speaker 3: Linebacker is a place where again I thought, you know,
- 34:46Speaker 3: we needed some depth. You know, Pace is a bit
- 34:50Speaker 3: of a specialty linebacker. You can play the run, but
- 34:53Speaker 3: not great in it. He's small, he gets pushed off
- 34:56Speaker 3: the point a lot. And then you have Cashman, who
- 34:59Speaker 3: proved himself to be, you know, a great linebacker in
- 35:03Speaker 3: this scheme. I think he led the team in tackles
- 35:06Speaker 3: there was close to it, and the team just played
- 35:08Speaker 3: different with him on the field. But you add in
- 35:10Speaker 3: Eric Wilson we're familiar with uh he started. I think
- 35:14Speaker 3: for Zimmer, maybe Zimmer's last or second to last year
- 35:18Speaker 3: alongside Kendricks, and I think he puts a scheme perfectly. Chris.
- 35:23Speaker 3: He's small, fast, quick, good tackler, and now he's got
- 35:28Speaker 3: a few more years of experience. I think it's a
- 35:30Speaker 3: great depth guy. And maybe he comes in and plays,
- 35:33Speaker 3: you know, alongside Cashman on certain downs and maybe you
- 35:36Speaker 3: can make Pace a little bit more specialty. I think
- 35:40Speaker 3: that helps a lot. And again we've got draft to
- 35:42Speaker 3: come after that. And and if you want to get
- 35:46Speaker 3: another kid, because you're gonna probably want to get younger
- 35:48Speaker 3: at some point, Pace is young, but you might want
- 35:51Speaker 3: to refresh the depth in there a little bit. And
- 35:54Speaker 3: you can also do that linebackers, kind of like running back,
- 35:57Speaker 3: where you can find yourself a linebacker if you need to,
- 36:00Speaker 3: that can play for you. But yeah, I thought Wilson
- 36:02Speaker 3: was a great signing, and I think, like you said,
- 36:05Speaker 3: he fits the scheme and obviously he's familiar with the
- 36:09Speaker 3: facility and all that stuff, and so it's good to
- 36:11Speaker 3: have him back. And now we'll talk a little bit.
- 36:13Speaker 3: Now here's my my free agent signing that I have
- 36:17Speaker 3: the most kind of question mark about, not just because
- 36:20Speaker 3: the price take because you're right, free agency, you got
- 36:23Speaker 3: to pay what you got to pay. The market dictates
- 36:25Speaker 3: what you're gonna pay some of these guys. But Byron Murphy,
- 36:29Speaker 3: I started last season saying this guy was the was
- 36:32Speaker 3: the liability in the back end of that defense. Well
- 36:36Speaker 3: a little did I know that was taken over by
- 36:37Speaker 3: Stefan Gilmore that position and Murphy actually played very very well.
- 36:43Speaker 3: Coincidence in a contract here which a lot of guys do.
- 36:47Speaker 3: They want to make some money, but you know, can
- 36:49Speaker 3: you trust that he's going to be consistent If he does,
- 36:52Speaker 3: I think he got a bargain, like you said, with
- 36:53Speaker 3: the cap going up and ability to you know, work
- 36:57Speaker 3: that contract. And as time goes on, I think you
- 36:59Speaker 3: got this deal. If if Iron Murphy is and remains
- 37:03Speaker 3: what he was last year, I think you got a
- 37:06Speaker 3: great deal. If his play falls a little bit or
- 37:09Speaker 3: a lot, I think you know, obviously you're gonna want
- 37:12Speaker 3: to rethink that deal. But again, it's not one that
- 37:14Speaker 3: you can't get out of at some point or move
- 37:16Speaker 3: on from. But you know, that's my only real question mark.
- 37:20Speaker 3: I'm happy we resigned him, Don't get me wrong. I think,
- 37:23Speaker 3: you know, with the state of our cornerback room and
- 37:27Speaker 3: just a lot of question marks and a lot of
- 37:30Speaker 3: players that you know, you're just like, hopefully he plays well.
- 37:34Speaker 1: I e.
- 37:34Speaker 3: Black Men, the Mclotham kid. You needed some vets and
- 37:40Speaker 3: he needed some stability there, and Murphy provides that. Now,
- 37:43Speaker 3: whether you bring Shack back, I think he's still on
- 37:45Speaker 3: the market. He might be a pre training camp guy
- 37:48Speaker 3: that you bring in again. I don't think you're gonna
- 37:50Speaker 3: see Gilmore again. I think he's either done or he
- 37:55Speaker 3: we got the one year we need it out of him.
- 37:57Speaker 3: But yeah, I mean your thoughts on on the Murphy thing.
- 38:00Speaker 3: You know, like I said, happy we resigned him, thought
- 38:03Speaker 3: we needed to do it. Just a little tentative about
- 38:06Speaker 3: how he's going to react post contract. We picked him
- 38:10Speaker 3: up pretty cheap from the Cardinals, and it's just hard
- 38:14Speaker 3: for me to believe that, you know, you can teach
- 38:16Speaker 3: an old dog nutricks. But maybe, and I'm hoping you
- 38:20Speaker 3: know that he turned over new leaf and he's you know,
- 38:22Speaker 3: at top level corner, which I think he was drafted
- 38:25Speaker 3: to be.
- 38:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I do feel like it's an overpay. I think
- 38:30Speaker 1: that's fair to say a needed one though that is
- 38:34Speaker 1: that is for sure too. And you're right, I mean
- 38:37Speaker 1: last year or two years ago was like this is
- 38:40Speaker 1: pretty good, you know, and and at the end of
- 38:42Speaker 1: the year it did seem like, you know, he was
- 38:45Speaker 1: having to to guard the hardest receivers, so maybe some
- 38:50Speaker 1: of that was like, you know, he got targeted a lot.
- 38:55Speaker 1: But as the year went on, man that guy made
- 38:58Speaker 1: just as many plays bad and he was phenomenal, and
- 39:02Speaker 1: you know, he had all those picks. He had a
- 39:04Speaker 1: like you said, this is a contract year, but it
- 39:06Speaker 1: also that he might just fit really well in what
- 39:11Speaker 1: they're trying to do. But that is a good point.
- 39:14Speaker 1: I mean, the contract year you always have to at
- 39:17Speaker 1: least pay attention to and see, you know what if
- 39:21Speaker 1: that's what it was all about. As a corner, though,
- 39:26Speaker 1: you kind of got to be plugged in almost every
- 39:29Speaker 1: play and then obviously we know the short term memory thing.
- 39:32Speaker 1: That is how he's said about it. But he definitely
- 39:35Speaker 1: was worth the money. I mean, you know, he had
- 39:38Speaker 1: his career best in total tackles, which he was making
- 39:41Speaker 1: really solid tackles at the line of scrimmage. Usually a
- 39:45Speaker 1: lot of tackles is a great for a corner, but
- 39:49Speaker 1: he had six for you know, a loss, he had
- 39:52Speaker 1: six picks. You know, he went to the Pro Bowl,
- 39:55Speaker 1: I think his first one, so I think that you know,
- 39:58Speaker 1: it was needed and he had kind of worked his
- 40:01Speaker 1: way into that deal. But you know, could there be
- 40:04Speaker 1: a drop off a little bit? Yeah, as long as
- 40:07Speaker 1: it's not too big of one, we should be okay.
- 40:12Speaker 1: And the fact that we started beefing up the interior
- 40:17Speaker 1: and Flora, as we already knew, was back. Great for us,
- 40:22Speaker 1: not as great for him. Obviously. You do feel for
- 40:25Speaker 1: the guy, you know, no doubt. Selfishly so glad he's back.
- 40:32Speaker 1: But you know, Harrison Smith once again coming back, and
- 40:36Speaker 1: we still haven't seen that big drop off. He doesn't
- 40:42Speaker 1: necessarily do all the things that he used to do
- 40:45Speaker 1: per se, but he does a lot of them, and
- 40:48Speaker 1: you know, maybe maybe he can be more of the
- 40:53Speaker 1: gimmicky type thing and get back to that role rather
- 40:57Speaker 1: than doing it with a variety of players and kind
- 40:59Speaker 1: of putting out a position. But you know, that's the
- 41:02Speaker 1: thing with cam Byam some of the angles he took
- 41:08Speaker 1: that resulted in touchdowns. I knew someone was gonna He
- 41:12Speaker 1: deserved the deal, no doubt, because the last few years
- 41:14Speaker 1: he's played really well. But overall I didn't think he'd
- 41:20Speaker 1: come back, and I just think the depth that we had,
- 41:24Speaker 1: and obviously THEO Jackson when he did play, played pretty well.
- 41:28Speaker 1: And mattell Us, although they're two different safeties because we
- 41:31Speaker 1: play like three or four of them, I think that
- 41:33Speaker 1: plays into two. But we'll see. About Murphy. I think
- 41:37Speaker 1: he found a home. Let's hope that it wasn't just
- 41:43Speaker 1: you know, his career best and then he's like seventy
- 41:46Speaker 1: percent of what he was, because that would be a dropout.
- 41:48Speaker 1: But I think I think will be good there. And
- 41:51Speaker 1: then some some guys around the edges. You mentioned Eric
- 41:54Speaker 1: Wilson Thomas that you know, both those guys are our key,
- 42:00Speaker 1: key special teams players, so their depth in we can
- 42:03Speaker 1: up our special teams. And you know, to bring in
- 42:08Speaker 1: Bubba Bolden, we'll see. I think he'll just be a
- 42:12Speaker 1: role player. I did get a look at him as
- 42:15Speaker 1: a Hurricane. I think he went out a little early.
- 42:19Speaker 1: I'm not you know, it might be one of those
- 42:21Speaker 1: guys that could just we will find a role for.
- 42:24Speaker 1: I believe in a lot of these guys are just
- 42:25Speaker 1: role guys, just like that Isaiah Rogers. He might be
- 42:31Speaker 1: a starter, he might be the third, he might be
- 42:33Speaker 1: the Nickela. I don't know exactly what he's gonna be,
- 42:37Speaker 1: but he has played well lately and in some pretty
- 42:41Speaker 1: big spots. So maybe that signing, you're gonna look at
- 42:45Speaker 1: it and be like, man, we got him for a
- 42:46Speaker 1: good deal, you know, So I think he might be
- 42:50Speaker 1: a really good fit overall just off of a roll.
- 42:54Speaker 1: Maybe he'll maybe he'll grow into it. But this year
- 42:58Speaker 1: one point two five, next year four point four. You know,
- 43:03Speaker 1: there's some like two million worth incentives. You know, Byn
- 43:08Speaker 1: got a sixty year, four year deal. So once I
- 43:10Speaker 1: saw that, I was like, yeah, now, you know, I
- 43:13Speaker 1: didn't think he's gonna come back. But according to PFF,
- 43:18Speaker 1: as far as he ranked sixth among all qualified cornerbacks
- 43:24Speaker 1: in man coverage. And so that might be the role too,
- 43:29Speaker 1: because he played for the Eagles and the Colts. Now,
- 43:32Speaker 1: as long as he stays off my bookie, right, because
- 43:37Speaker 1: in twenty twenty three he did get suspended for the
- 43:41Speaker 1: entire season for gambling NFL gambling, So stay off my buckie,
- 43:46Speaker 1: don't go to Iowa and bet okay. But if he
- 43:51Speaker 1: can do that, I think he's probably a pretty good player,
- 43:53Speaker 1: because that is some of those things about the Vets
- 43:57Speaker 1: shack and all that is they couldn't play man the
- 44:00Speaker 1: man anymore Baron right, and so that was like we
- 44:04Speaker 1: were so good in zone, but you can't play everybody's zone,
- 44:08Speaker 1: you know. So maybe this guy, his his strength is
- 44:12Speaker 1: I can play man and man, or I can be
- 44:15Speaker 1: a you know in the little border area I can.
- 44:17Speaker 1: I can play this, you know. So maybe he's going
- 44:19Speaker 1: to be a starter or be the our top three.
- 44:21Speaker 1: Maybe he's just depth and he'll be there on third
- 44:23Speaker 1: down and be a nickel. I don't totally know, but
- 44:27Speaker 1: you know, my guess is they wanted somebody that could
- 44:31Speaker 1: play one, you know, like not man coverage some more
- 44:36Speaker 1: than what was because that was our biggest issue on defenses.
- 44:40Speaker 1: Well two of them, pressure up the middle, pressure without blitzing,
- 44:44Speaker 1: I guess three, and then you know, enough corners to
- 44:48Speaker 1: play man and man. That was an issue.
- 44:50Speaker 3: You know, we had to fill that room up to
- 44:53Speaker 3: it's got pretty depleted when you're bringing in Stefan Gilmore
- 44:58Speaker 3: before a training camp and just looking for answers. And
- 45:01Speaker 3: obviously I had a really unfortunate situation last last offseason.
- 45:07Speaker 3: It's caused things to kind of go hey wire. But yeah,
- 45:10Speaker 3: you need, you know, starters in depth. Really, that's the
- 45:14Speaker 3: glaring spot on the team where you really need to like, okay,
- 45:16Speaker 3: we got to establish you know, a couple outside corners.
- 45:21Speaker 3: Most likely Murphy will play in the slot, you would think,
- 45:25Speaker 3: unless he's pushed outside for whatever reason. But you know,
- 45:31Speaker 3: you might end up with Blackman in the in the
- 45:33Speaker 3: in the Nickel two, he's coming back off a c
- 45:36Speaker 3: L and like I said, the young kid mclothern, he
- 45:39Speaker 3: added some pieces. So I think you just need to
- 45:42Speaker 3: get bodies in there and see who can stick. And
- 45:45Speaker 3: then there's again the draft, so you'll find you'll finally
- 45:50Speaker 3: get maybe adequate young depth coming through. And that's what's
- 45:54Speaker 3: probably a priority there to just make sure that that's going.
- 45:57Speaker 3: I mean, we went from zimmer just you know all
- 46:00Speaker 3: about the corners. Yeah, six to one hundred. You know, man,
- 46:07Speaker 3: long arms, you know, that's that's the thing, and you're
- 46:11Speaker 3: right to be able to play man. A lot of
- 46:13Speaker 3: teams are gonna have to play man, so we weren't
- 46:15Speaker 3: able to do that a lot. So I think that's
- 46:17Speaker 3: another thing that will free up a lot in the
- 46:19Speaker 3: defense and safety wise. You know, maybe we're not going
- 46:22Speaker 3: to see four safeties on the field or three.
- 46:24Speaker 5: Safeties with the defensive tackles now, you know, maybe it's
- 46:28Speaker 5: gonna come down to more like two and maybe you know,
- 46:31Speaker 5: Mattelis finds a specialty role or something like that in there,
- 46:36Speaker 5: or maybe it's just going to be Mettellis and Harry.
- 46:38Speaker 3: You never know, with Fio backing them up. But yeah,
- 46:42Speaker 3: I mean overall, however, this washes and let's say you're
- 46:46Speaker 3: throwing up two of the four picks or defensive players.
- 46:50Speaker 3: You know, that's a vast improvement from where Flora started
- 46:55Speaker 3: this experiment. Yes, I mean it's just not only the
- 47:00Speaker 3: system and working it and being able to adapt to
- 47:04Speaker 3: the to his players, but now it's almost forming into
- 47:07Speaker 3: like something that you know, he can kind of relax
- 47:11Speaker 3: in and start to to do what, like you said,
- 47:14Speaker 3: is run what he wants to run, and that can
- 47:17Speaker 3: only help improving that is you know, if you know,
- 47:21Speaker 3: we get him for a fourth year and he gets
- 47:23Speaker 3: to you know, even more, tweak it even more. I mean,
- 47:27Speaker 3: it's pretty consistent, and we're used to having good defenses
- 47:31Speaker 3: every decade a stretch for every decade. It is just
- 47:36Speaker 3: that time now, I guess the talker Chris Uh and
- 47:41Speaker 3: you and I kind of brushed over it off off,
- 47:43Speaker 3: off off. The mic was quarterback situation, which really we
- 47:49Speaker 3: thought was answered a long time ago with just the
- 47:53Speaker 3: way the plan is with JJ and and Uh, you know,
- 47:57Speaker 3: cousins moving on. But you know, now there's a bunch
- 48:00Speaker 3: of new rumors a bunch of new speculation, someone new
- 48:04Speaker 3: through their hat in the ring, that being Aaron Rodgers,
- 48:08Speaker 3: and how do you feel about that? And then the
- 48:12Speaker 3: wrinkle of hey, you can get Cousins back dirt cheap
- 48:16Speaker 3: thanks to the Atlanta Falcons and Michael Pennix, and you
- 48:20Speaker 3: know his wife loves it here. They miss Minnesota is
- 48:23Speaker 3: what's going on. So you know, a very cheap Cousins,
- 48:29Speaker 3: which was always my biggest gripe on Cousins, and you
- 48:32Speaker 3: know just how much we were paying him as opposed
- 48:36Speaker 3: to the cap. And we've been over that. Cheap Cousins
- 48:40Speaker 3: as a backup and maybe even a bridge guy. I
- 48:47Speaker 3: think you could do worse. And I'll let you break
- 48:49Speaker 3: into the Rogers drama. But you know, if you're gonna
- 48:54Speaker 3: bring back a veteran, which they haven't done yet, and
- 48:56Speaker 3: we looked at the list offline, and we're like, Jesus,
- 48:59Speaker 3: not a lot. I think the star of that list
- 49:02Speaker 3: was Gardner Minshew, which also wouldn't be a bad option
- 49:05Speaker 3: if you're gonna go with that. But some of them,
- 49:08Speaker 3: Jameis Winston was one that we Jacobe Bosco at Flacco,
- 49:13Speaker 3: I mean, Cousins beats all those guys souh. That would
- 49:17Speaker 3: be an interesting wrinkle to have Cousins come back with
- 49:19Speaker 3: an offensive line not the pressure dirt cheap to either
- 49:25Speaker 3: back up or bridge for JJ. That's a great option
- 49:28Speaker 3: as far as I'm concerned, Rogers, you know, I'll let
- 49:33Speaker 3: you take it.
- 49:36Speaker 1: Yeah, that would be That would be pretty frazy to
- 49:39Speaker 1: get Cousins back, and then we can actually see the
- 49:43Speaker 1: third year in the system. We didn't get it this
- 49:45Speaker 1: year with a defense in an interior line. It could
- 49:50Speaker 1: get a little scary actually, But and then you know,
- 49:53Speaker 1: having a full year off of that injury would be
- 49:56Speaker 1: major for him too, because you could see the first
- 49:58Speaker 1: couple of games he would moving ready. He did. He
- 50:02Speaker 1: did get going though. Like I think people when they
- 50:05Speaker 1: say he's washed, I don't know about that, because you
- 50:10Speaker 1: can't throw over five hundred yards in a game if
- 50:13Speaker 1: you're washed. You know, if you're washed, you can't have
- 50:16Speaker 1: like three touchdowns no picks, or a three hundred yard game.
- 50:21Speaker 1: You know, you can't throw for five hundred fucking yards.
- 50:23Speaker 3: Yeah, I actually think he just I just think because
- 50:25Speaker 3: of his uh, because of his foot, he lost his fastball,
- 50:29Speaker 3: and if that's healed, I think he'll get his fastball back,
- 50:32Speaker 3: and that's where I think the picks came from. Really,
- 50:34Speaker 3: was he just the ball wasn't doing what he wanted
- 50:36Speaker 3: it to do due to his base Really, that's sure
- 50:39Speaker 3: for me, that was the issue.
- 50:41Speaker 1: Yeah, And there was plenty of video, you know, clips
- 50:45Speaker 1: of seeing it the year before and in the past,
- 50:48Speaker 1: and you're right, you could see there was a little
- 50:50Speaker 1: difference he was having. His footwork was a little different
- 50:53Speaker 1: and a lot of it had to do with that.
- 50:55Speaker 1: So it's just the whole wash thing was always kind
- 50:58Speaker 1: of funny to me because like, I don't I don't
- 51:01Speaker 1: see in this.
- 51:02Speaker 3: Washed But.
- 51:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, Cooper Rush would have been nice, I
- 51:07Speaker 1: think too, for for one of those solid guys Flaco.
- 51:10Speaker 1: Those are good, solid guys. But it does it does
- 51:12Speaker 1: look like Rogers has offers reported very solidly that the
- 51:18Speaker 1: Jets and the Steelers have offers, and he's not just
- 51:23Speaker 1: deciding between those two and right now it does appear
- 51:26Speaker 1: that he's decided, and maybe they're you know, the longer
- 51:30Speaker 1: this goes, as we said, the more it's real. Now,
- 51:35Speaker 1: of course, you have right if it is just those
- 51:37Speaker 1: two teams, Rogers will probably wait that out just because
- 51:41Speaker 1: that's his style, so he can get everybody to talk
- 51:43Speaker 1: about him. But you know, if the report is true
- 51:47Speaker 1: that a one year thirty to thirty five, that's fucking good.
- 51:54Speaker 1: I mean, that's that's that's right around. I mean, what's
- 51:57Speaker 1: his toes. Darnold got thirty three peron, So I mean
- 52:01Speaker 1: that would be that would be great. I gotta admit,
- 52:05Speaker 1: you know, there's plenty of things to say about him,
- 52:09Speaker 1: but his first of all, he beat JJ out in
- 52:12Speaker 1: a competition right now, just off his mind. But if
- 52:16Speaker 1: you can get that much more improved line, we saw
- 52:20Speaker 1: Jones out of the backfield. They already have a thing
- 52:24Speaker 1: going on, you know, so that would you know, the
- 52:27Speaker 1: way he can just find these little sometimes they're just
- 52:30Speaker 1: little passes right when you're about to get them, and
- 52:33Speaker 1: it's just a big seventeen yards later type thing. So
- 52:36Speaker 1: I understand the potential that even a quote in training
- 52:43Speaker 1: camp could all of a sudden your locker room, you know,
- 52:48Speaker 1: has so many more media members national in it, and
- 52:52Speaker 1: you know, and so I get that part of it,
- 52:57Speaker 1: and I don't I don't believe he'd be all that
- 52:59Speaker 1: great of a mentor to McCarthy, but he can, I
- 53:04Speaker 1: think McCarthy would take it on the chin and be like,
- 53:07Speaker 1: well shit, Rogers himself had to wait three years, and
- 53:10Speaker 1: then Love had to wait three years, and look at
- 53:13Speaker 1: all long Steve Young had to wait. So I mean
- 53:15Speaker 1: I think that I think he'd be talked into it,
- 53:18Speaker 1: and then you'd still have three years on that rookie scale.
- 53:21Speaker 1: Sure the fifth year is going to bump up a
- 53:23Speaker 1: little bit, but nothing like what it would be if
- 53:25Speaker 1: he's damn good. So ultimately, I know a lot of
- 53:29Speaker 1: people are anti this, I would do it, and I
- 53:34Speaker 1: would do it in the heartbeat for that price, for
- 53:37Speaker 1: that price, one year deal. Now, obviously it's hard to
- 53:40Speaker 1: make this decision without knowing where JJ's at, you know,
- 53:46Speaker 1: in his head, And a lot of people were saying this,
- 53:48Speaker 1: we'll talk about Donald two. How a bunch of media
- 53:51Speaker 1: members showed their ass about the Donald thing and it
- 53:54Speaker 1: got pretty funny there for a while. But you know,
- 53:59Speaker 1: if it's a two year deal, then then that's where
- 54:02Speaker 1: I get a little. If it was Donald two year
- 54:05Speaker 1: deal for twenty twenty five, I would have taken that
- 54:09Speaker 1: because he's young still and we could do it for
- 54:11Speaker 1: one year and then trade him while he's in the contract.
- 54:13Speaker 1: Whereas I don't think we're gonna get much out of
- 54:16Speaker 1: another year from now Rogers. You know something else though
- 54:21Speaker 1: that we mentioned, and you brought this up, Aaron was okay,
- 54:26Speaker 1: but if you get to the conference final, then all
- 54:28Speaker 1: of a sudden, you're gonna have to re up with them.
- 54:31Speaker 1: You know, it's gonna be hard to walk away from that.
- 54:33Speaker 1: And that's the thing about Donald too. Mid season, I
- 54:37Speaker 1: was saying, let's just let's both of us were saying,
- 54:40Speaker 1: let's let's play this thing out. Now. I heard plenty
- 54:44Speaker 1: of people that said, if we got to the super Bowl,
- 54:46Speaker 1: shit if even if we want it, I wouldn't sign
- 54:48Speaker 1: Darnald Well, You're out of your fucking mind for that one,
- 54:52Speaker 1: you know. And I like some of the folks that
- 54:54Speaker 1: said that too. I think they're really great at what
- 54:56Speaker 1: they do. But I thought that was ridiculous. But I said,
- 55:01Speaker 1: let's see it play out. Though, because the middle of
- 55:03Speaker 1: the season didn't go so good, Donald got a shit
- 55:07Speaker 1: together down the stretch, it looked damn good. Then it
- 55:10Speaker 1: fell apart again. But I would do Rogers for sure
- 55:14Speaker 1: for one year. And then the thing about the trading
- 55:18Speaker 1: thing to just automatically think JJ's gonna go for a trade.
- 55:22Speaker 1: I just disagree with that. That's my own opinion. And
- 55:26Speaker 1: not only that, but what exact leverage does he have?
- 55:30Speaker 1: Let me hear what his leverage is. Okay, he's under
- 55:33Speaker 1: contract for four years. He hasn't played it down in
- 55:37Speaker 1: a regular season game, so what could we could get
- 55:40Speaker 1: something for him. I'm not saying we can, but I
- 55:43Speaker 1: just don't know his leverage now. Now, Yeah, if you
- 55:46Speaker 1: signed someone for two or three years, yeah, then he
- 55:48Speaker 1: probably would want to get traded, but just to automatical league.
- 55:52Speaker 1: And I heard that with the Donald two year deal. Well,
- 55:55Speaker 1: if JJ beats Donald out, then it's a bad signing.
- 55:58Speaker 1: Why we don't know if j would put something on tape,
- 56:01Speaker 1: then all of a sudden halfway through the season, he
- 56:03Speaker 1: can't do what he was doing at the beginning of
- 56:05Speaker 1: the year. We don't know about JJ. Only the folks
- 56:08Speaker 1: in the building really know, and they don't even know
- 56:12Speaker 1: all the way because we just we haven't seen it yet.
- 56:15Speaker 1: So I would do it. But if I had a
- 56:18Speaker 1: choice between Cousins or Rogers at this point, I'm with you.
- 56:21Speaker 1: I would pick Cousins because he already knows the system,
- 56:25Speaker 1: and I do think he'd take JJ out to Chili's
- 56:28Speaker 1: and talk about, you know, a lot of positive stuff
- 56:32Speaker 1: with him, you know. I think they get along, and
- 56:33Speaker 1: I do think he would mentor him even if he
- 56:37Speaker 1: knew coming in he'd be the starter. I think he
- 56:39Speaker 1: would mentor him. So I would go Cousins over Rogers.
- 56:44Speaker 1: But if it is Rogers, I'm sure not going to complain.
- 56:49Speaker 1: And a lot of people, oh, they don't want to
- 56:51Speaker 1: do the farm thing, you know, And he's our enemy, dude.
- 56:55Speaker 1: When you're not on our team, you're our enemy. When
- 56:58Speaker 1: you're on our team, you're not. You know, it's like
- 57:02Speaker 1: it like I get it. But when you're gonna go
- 57:06Speaker 1: that far in the rivalry and not realize this thing's
- 57:09Speaker 1: a business, I just I think that's ridiculous. And I
- 57:14Speaker 1: think his mind is still there, and I think if
- 57:19Speaker 1: we can give him protection in a run game and
- 57:21Speaker 1: all these weapons and that defense, he had to be
- 57:26Speaker 1: looking at all those wide open dudes down the stretch
- 57:29Speaker 1: and be like, I know I can hit that guy.
- 57:31Speaker 1: Same with Cousins, you know. So I would take Rogers
- 57:34Speaker 1: or Cousins, to be honest with you, leaning Cousins because
- 57:38Speaker 1: he's younger and he's not gonna do that, you know,
- 57:42Speaker 1: mid season said some dumb shit just to say it.
- 57:46Speaker 1: You know, I don't know.
- 57:49Speaker 3: It's a hall of famer. I mean, Rogers is a
- 57:51Speaker 3: Hall of famer, possibly top five all time. And that's
- 57:56Speaker 3: a lot of brain there. Like you said, in his head,
- 58:00Speaker 3: he's seen a lot of defense and he's beat all
- 58:02Speaker 3: of them he gets at one point or another. I
- 58:07Speaker 3: think it's high risk, high reward. I think the risks
- 58:09Speaker 3: are a lot of drama, unnecessarily drama. I think that
- 58:16Speaker 3: injury could be an issue. That's a good I think
- 58:20Speaker 3: that the top end of that is NFC Championship, super
- 58:25Speaker 3: Bowl loss, super Bowl win, that's another that's another year
- 58:29Speaker 3: of Rogers, you know, and that's a risk because JJ. Now,
- 58:33Speaker 3: I think there is almost a zero chance of JJ
- 58:37Speaker 3: being moved anywhere. Right, He's either gonna get a tutorial
- 58:42Speaker 3: out of Rogers, whether it's you know, hey, this is
- 58:45Speaker 3: how I do this, or it's just watch and watch
- 58:49Speaker 3: throughout the course of the year, how this guy sees defenses,
- 58:53Speaker 3: It reads them, how he reacts the situations. They're gonna
- 58:56Speaker 3: lot be learned with those guys, not even you know,
- 58:59Speaker 3: sharing a word with each other, which I'm sure you know,
- 59:02Speaker 3: if you talk to Jordan Love, Rogers was very helpful
- 59:04Speaker 3: to him because of how Brett was with Aaron. So
- 59:09Speaker 3: you know, I think is it worth it. You know,
- 59:14Speaker 3: I'm not worried about an extra year of his contract
- 59:16Speaker 3: because you'll get two and then you'll get the fifth
- 59:20Speaker 3: for a little bit more money. But that's three years
- 59:22Speaker 3: of the rookie scale. Now if it goes past that,
- 59:24Speaker 3: I'm gonna start to worry about. If you go three
- 59:26Speaker 3: years in two it it's like okay, but two and
- 59:28Speaker 3: you get to learn from a Hall of famer, possibly
- 59:30Speaker 3: top five of all time.
- 59:32Speaker 1: I think you take that.
- 59:33Speaker 3: That's a great little quarterback one oh one or two
- 59:36Speaker 3: oh one at that point. So that's the positives, and
- 59:41Speaker 3: you're gonna win some games. If Rogers stays healthy, you're
- 59:44Speaker 3: gonna win some games. Again, You're gonna get a lot
- 59:47Speaker 3: of attention. Blah blah blah. Now that's a double edged sword.
- 59:51Speaker 3: The reason I would pick Cousins in the situation is
- 59:54Speaker 3: just a little bit more low key. Like you said,
- 59:57Speaker 3: we know Cousins, we know what he can do in
- 59:59Speaker 3: the system them, and now he possibly do even more
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: with the work of the offensive line. You know, Jefferson
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: him already have a connection Addison, all of them. They
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: know what's going Hackets and all these guys. You know,
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: we also know Cousins Warts and therefore, you know, if
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: you want to compete with JJ, I really at that
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: point it doesn't matter to me who wins that competition.
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: I would like to see JJ win it. Competing in
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: the camp, that would be really encouraging. But let's say
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: Cousins does wins the competition and starts the year and
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: plays three, four, five, six, seven games eight half the
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: season and then gives it over to JJ, or even
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: plays the whole season. At that price, that's fine because
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: he's learning from Cousins as well. I think it's just
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: layers of how it goes. Now. You know, if I
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: could go away with the whole conversation and Rogers signs
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: with Pittsburgh and we don't have to talk about this,
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: I think I'd be happier than having to wait in
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: the beginning of training camp when he finally signs the
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: paper and all the drama and all that stuff. And
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: I think a lot of this local media stuff is
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: just they can't wait to get their name in the
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: papers in the national papers, and it's like, okay, you know,
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: do you care about the team or your career. It's
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: all right, you know, be ambitious, but at some point,
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: not all of us are buying for national media attention.
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: At this point in time, we just want a super Bowl.
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: You know, we want to win. So there's that whole
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: thing that's kind of a drawback. But you know, uh,
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: I guess I sort of lad out the pluses and
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: minuses that I think I just think could be. You know,
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: it's that that reward is what draws you to Rogers.
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: It's like, yes, I have a lot of faith that
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: you know, there's not going to be you know, a
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: lot of learning curve with Rogers. Maybe he's players learning
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: to play with Rogers, but it's not going to be
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: you know, him having to figure anything out. And so
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: you know, I think you could go pretty far. But then,
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: like I said, that brings that other wrinkle of the
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: second year with Rogers. Who wouldn't do it? I mean,
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: you go to NFC Championship, Chris, you gotta think, just
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: like in the far years, that you gotta sign him
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: up again. You gotta get back, run it back. You know,
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: at least I know, most.
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: The helicopter at his house. Harrison's gonna pick him up
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: at the you know, bring him to the airport.
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: Yeah, so I mean it's and then sorry, the last
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: point on this is the plan, Like it's been a
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: pretty you've seen the parts of the plan as Quacy
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: and O'Connell have moved through this thing from the beginning
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: to the end, you know, and they've got their quarterback
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: last year in the draft, and you know, they moved
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: on from Cousins, which we thought was a good fiscal move.
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: And then you have, you know, these free agent signings
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: that are all part of building what they think is
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: the championship roster and a championship culture. The hand grenade
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: to that is Aaron Rodgers. Let me let me take
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: that back. The negative hand grenade to that is a
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: negative Aaron Rodgers or Aaron Rodgers with negativity. And then
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: you know, how much do you derail even a positive
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: Aaron Rodgers experience from the plan when you've stuck so
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: closely to it and made hard decisions to make sure
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: that you can execute it. That's where I get confused.
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: And is there other fingers here pushing buttons?
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: I e.
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: The league or or anybody else, you know, trying to
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: put their fingers in or ownership, even you know, saying hey,
- 1:03:22Speaker 3: you have been great to give Rogers. He's there, you know.
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: I know you guys have a plan, but you know,
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: how much of that is going on else is another
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: concern for me. But apples to apples, you know, I'd
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: rather have Cousins, but I think that the upside of
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: Rogers is definitely higher.
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's it's something you just can't.
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: Pass up upside as far as wins, right.
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: And in big games, you know, like big game. You know,
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: he knows what the hell are you doing? And so yeah,
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: I think, you know, I'm just I think it'd be
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: almost like a malpractice not to do it if you
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: can do it, you know, but still sticking to the plan.
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: And you know, the prior thing under Cousins was let's
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: get the rookie scale guy. Well now he got the
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: rookiy scale guy. And some of these dudes wanted to
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: give Donald a thirty four year deal. It's like, you
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: just got done telling me you weren't gonna do that
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: for Cousins. Now a guy that's not as good as Cousins,
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: you're gonna get him a deal just because he's twenty seven, Like,
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: it's just ridiculous.
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: Or franchise the guy and get stuck with a forty
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: million dollar backup quarterback, because that's what would have happened
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: as the market played out. That's would have happened. Nobody's
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: taken Sam Donald for a third round pick and a
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: forty million dollar contract. Ris It's it's just ludicrous.
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: And it isn't. It wasn't the franchise forty one million, right?
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: I think it was forty one million, And a couple
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: of these low guys really showed their ass on this
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: and they were And you know when people make a
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: lot of money and you use the word unfair, it
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: doesn't hit as hard. I get it, life's not fair, YadA, YadA, YadA.
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: But the way they spoke of Cousins was just ridiculous,
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: Like if you don't like him, you want to move on, cool,
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: but don't add all that shit. We saw that when
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: he tied the record with Stafford for most fourth quarter comebacks.
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: We had like the craziest fucking year that you can
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: have at quarterback and on offense and all the shit
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: we did as a team that year we have the
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: biggest The Bills game was ridiculous, the freaking the comeback
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: that probably we probably won't see that again. And meanwhile,
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: that year when he was the QB win, Remember twenty
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: twenty three will always go down as the year the
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: QB win didn't count for some reason that year it
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: just did count for Cousins because then when people would
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: go to Mackie and be like, hey, dude, you know
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: all those things you said, well he's doing them, well yeah,
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: but its QBR rating, you know, as an expected play
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: here is not as good as it was last year.
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: But that's what all he's got me mad is they
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: they chocked up Cousins as just a stat quarterback, that's it.
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: And then all of a sudden they only wanted to
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: judge him was what he do in the fourth quarter,
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: that's it and qv wins. Okay, cool, So to to then,
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: because you just can't be wrong, you can't just admit
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: you're wrong. You gotta then then go to four stats. Well,
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: these four stats, but then a year before those, when
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: he was in the top five, that was just a
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: stat that didn't mean shit, And so that that was
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: just funny for him to be like you know, to
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: say that Cousins, Darnald and Hunter left and it would
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: be just a horrendous thing to let all free like
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: this is the NBA and you do signs and sign
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: and trades all day long, and and for him not
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: to really realize that that forty one millions this year.
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: And so first of all, when Darnold leaves and when
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: Cousins left, like we we did get something for Cousins,
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: not in the trade, but we did get something. And
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: you know, had that And I said this back then
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: in twenty twenty, had we had extended him for five years,
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: we would have had him for last year and then
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: one more year. We could have traded him under contract
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: and that money. If you think about where the contracts
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: in twenty twenty or even twenty twenty two, where they've
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: gone now, they've exploded. As you could see, it was happening.
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: And that was my whole point. At the back end
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: of those deals. If you look at the back end
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: of like Staffords deal, that's why you could trade them
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: so easily because it was only like twenty five million year.
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: So you could have then traded him under track though,
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: And and the point he made was like, oh, well,
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: you really think he's gonna be difficult in this trade
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: and not want to He's gonna get one hundred million
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: dollar contracts, So well, no, that's not the point. But
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: you don't have the leverages the point, and you can
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: still get something for him leading So it made no sense.
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: He got ten million. You know, you still overpaid a
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: little bit for him. They have a one year out
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: seattle on him so they can get out of it
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: after a year, and that three year deal it averages
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: thirty three million year. But yeah, to sit there and
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: act like that was gonna be a huge negative for Quasi.
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: It's just him riling up dumb shit. And then you
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: have Colier or coler this dude, listen to this sentence,
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: he tweeted. Now he said, he started with the it's
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: the logic of the Vikings moving to McCarthy makes complete sense.
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: But what I don't understand is the idea that Sam
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: Darnold's poor end of the season proves he never can
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: win right. Well, first of all, it's the middle of
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: the season too, Okay, it wasn't just those last two games.
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: People forget about shit, Aaron. When we win the game,
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: they forget all. I said no. In the middle of
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: the season, for about three or four games, the defense
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: kept us in. The offense was very inadequate. I remember
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: the Colts game. I think they put up twenty one
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: in the second half out of no where, but they
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: weren't living up to it. The defense was keeping us
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: in those games. So he was struggling that he got
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: a shit together. And I am one of those guys
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: that said, hey, if we go to the super Bowl, darnold,
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: I'm signing them, dude, like, but it was a wait
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: and see that's all it was. And to act like
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: he was better than Cousins. Cousins has eight years of
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: productivity as a starter. And here's where it gets really bad. Then,
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: he says, Mahomes, Herbert Strout all had the same exact
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: playoff result where defensive lines overwhelmed them. So you're telling
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: me Mahomes can overwhelmed by a line, but Cousins couldn't.
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: Like since twenty eighteen, they even talked about it. Dusty
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: Baker did a thing on this, Dustin Baker. Dusty he said,
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: there was about a three or four year time frame
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: where our guard, our interior line was and PFF hasn't
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: been around that long. Okay, but it was the worst
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: graded position of all time under their stats. Like, it's
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: just so funny. You're gonna throw around these big names
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: like Mahomes and talk about they got swarmed up, But
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: what the fuck do you think has been happening in
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: the interior? I mean, how many times did he have
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: to release the ball getting hit? And then he goes
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: further trying to beef up Darnold's bullshit record. He says,
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: since twenty twenty two. Now, mind you, we were fourteen
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: and three with him, right, he says, since twenty twenty two,
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: he's eighteen and six as a starter. He throws the
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: QB rating in there. Dude, so eighteen and six? Min'd
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: you go back to twenty twenty? You mean so he's
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: three and three, says twenty twenty two before he got here.
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: Like to sit there and bump up at eighteen to six.
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: That's that analytic where you're like, dude, he won fourteen games,
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: and my whole point of QB ratings or QB wins
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: being a little overrated, and I think some people go
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: over the top, and I think the last five eight
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: years it's been a stat that I think is out
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: of control. I'm not saying it doesn't mean something, but
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: last year was a perfect example of QB wins are
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: not the be all end all, and so, man, these
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: dudes really showed their ass. And I'll give him credit
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: the ones like Mackie always keeps his tweets, he doesn't
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: delete him. I respect that. But this the same thing
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: happened with Kat two year, two summers ago. You know,
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: a lot of people showed their ass on that, and
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: then we went to the conference championship game. So it's
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: just or not the game. But you know what I'm saying,
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: the series. So yeah, it was crazy to sit there
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: and blind yourself at one season. And and now he
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: turns around Mackie and says, it's been basically like a
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: perfect offseason. Well, didn't you just get done saying that
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: If we let these three dudes leave, it's a it's
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: a nightmare, Like you did a disservice to our our franchise,
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: you know, like, and then he says, the Sam Darnold
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: season will go down as one of the most memorable
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: in the Vikings history. Dog, this is what I'm talking about.
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: You're telling me that year before we made the biggest
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: comeback of all time in that Buffalo game. Those two
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: fucking games had more fucking like that's way more memorable, dude,
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: And that just shows you all over the top. And
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: they just used Sam as this guy. This is the
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: guy we wanted. Yeah, I'm done, I'm done. But they
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: really showed their ass. I got a missed. It was
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: fun to sit there and do that, and someone that
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: was a little bit more professional had to put him
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: in his place on Twitter and be like, dude, you
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: realize that you hold that forty one MILLI until he
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: gets traded and you have no leverage at all.
- 1:13:34Speaker 3: Yeah, and that eighteen points, that eighteen six record is
- 1:13:37Speaker 3: you went to imright dot com and look that up right,
- 1:13:41Speaker 3: you know, it's just it's just a way of like
- 1:13:44Speaker 3: massaging your point a little bit to make it to
- 1:13:47Speaker 3: make it work. And that's not very that's not any
- 1:13:50Speaker 3: What do we.
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: Get the ninety seventh pick this year ninety cuts.
- 1:13:55Speaker 3: Which we have no pick, so that's a pretty valuable pick.
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: And we got we got one off of him, all.
- 1:13:59Speaker 3: Right, exactly, and then Hunter he didn't crazier right, and
- 1:14:05Speaker 3: Hunter didn't fit the system. Now, could you got something
- 1:14:07Speaker 3: if you traded him. Yeah, but what would you have
- 1:14:09Speaker 3: had throughout the season?
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: Uh?
- 1:14:12Speaker 3: With Hunter gone? At that point the defense Hunter was
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: all you had, really and look.
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: At the two guys we got for the same amount
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: of money basactly. You know.
- 1:14:23Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a lot of like revisionist history and stuff,
- 1:14:26Speaker 3: and we try to keep it on this show, like
- 1:14:28Speaker 3: you said, even with the Donald stuff. You know. Another
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: point on the media is like we went into the season.
- 1:14:33Speaker 3: I think what I Chris, I think I picked four
- 1:14:35Speaker 3: to six wins something like that, and I think you
- 1:14:39Speaker 3: were seven to eight or something like that. But nobody
- 1:14:41Speaker 3: saw fourteen and three and these guys that you know,
- 1:14:44Speaker 3: if you talk to the beginning season, it was Sam Donald,
- 1:14:47Speaker 3: let's see what we could happen. And then at the
- 1:14:48Speaker 3: end of this guy's a super Bowl caliber quarterback. At
- 1:14:51Speaker 3: the end of the season, you're watching Kevin O'Connell do
- 1:14:56Speaker 3: some heavy lifting, you know, just to get Donald, you know,
- 1:15:01Speaker 3: describing the plays before it and just just to get
- 1:15:04Speaker 3: Donald an adequate playing. Now, I thought Donald, for whatever
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: it's worth, exceeded expectation. I want to but you know,
- 1:15:13Speaker 3: is it something of his career by the way, absolutely,
- 1:15:17Speaker 3: And I you know, but I think we all saw
- 1:15:20Speaker 3: against Detroit in the second game and against the Rams
- 1:15:25Speaker 3: what Sam Donald is And you can blame that on
- 1:15:26Speaker 3: the line, you can blame that on a that, But
- 1:15:28Speaker 3: when you're missing Addison on a slant because you don't
- 1:15:31Speaker 3: see him or you don't want to throw the ball,
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: that's an issue that even O'Connell probably doesn't want to
- 1:15:38Speaker 3: deal with for the next three to one year. So,
- 1:15:41Speaker 3: I mean there's that now, and then as far as
- 1:15:46Speaker 3: the Cousins and all that stuff, I think the interior
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: line does make a difference there. Yeah, I thought Cousins
- 1:15:54Speaker 3: and when you look at what Donald was dealing with,
- 1:15:56Speaker 3: realize it's the same or similar interior, you're gonna start
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: to look at Kirk and what he was able to
- 1:16:04Speaker 3: accomplish with those guys in a different light. You know,
- 1:16:08Speaker 3: Kirk is a pocket passer. He's not her run guy.
- 1:16:12Speaker 3: And he managed to throw three thousand high, three thousands low,
- 1:16:15Speaker 3: four thousands over twenty five touchdowns for a great amount
- 1:16:20Speaker 3: of those seasons, and his interceptions towards the end of
- 1:16:22Speaker 3: his stin here really dropped down. Yeah. I think they
- 1:16:25Speaker 3: started twenty eighteen. Yeah, I think he was thirteen fourteen
- 1:16:29Speaker 3: fifteen something like that, and then he's down to like
- 1:16:31Speaker 3: almost a handful or five to ten towards the end
- 1:16:36Speaker 3: of his stint. So he did a lot of stuff
- 1:16:39Speaker 3: here that in hindsight you look back and you go wow.
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, I'm not putting them in the Hall
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: of Famer, absolutely not. We never said he was a
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: top five guy or anything like that, but he just
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: wasn't as bad as people thought.
- 1:16:53Speaker 3: Yeah, and you gotta tip your cat for your cat
- 1:16:55Speaker 3: for his play. So I don't know if we're wrapping
- 1:16:59Speaker 3: it up here, but uh, I don't know, Chris. Maybe
- 1:17:03Speaker 3: on air production meeting here we're gonna do pre draft
- 1:17:06Speaker 3: or or post or I'll do pre draft uti post
- 1:17:09Speaker 3: whatever it is. I think we'll have some stuff around
- 1:17:13Speaker 3: this draft. Yeah, at some stuff for the draft obviously,
- 1:17:17Speaker 3: you know, I don't know what's taken so long. But
- 1:17:19Speaker 3: you want to sign Kwaisy already. Yeah. Maybe there's some
- 1:17:23Speaker 3: inside stuff that we don't know about. Maybe they're not
- 1:17:26Speaker 3: Maybe they gave him a shit offer and he's trying
- 1:17:29Speaker 3: to up it. I mean, who knows, but that needs
- 1:17:31Speaker 3: to get done. I think the combination of him, O'Connell
- 1:17:34Speaker 3: and Brazinski seems to be working pretty damn well. And
- 1:17:39Speaker 3: if you don't like the drafts, realize that Quaysy's not
- 1:17:42Speaker 3: a scout. He hires scouts, you know, so maybe he
- 1:17:45Speaker 3: needs to look at who he's hiring as a scoutkoys.
- 1:17:47Speaker 3: He's not out there scouting. He takes the opinions of
- 1:17:52Speaker 3: his scouts and makes those picks. So, yeah, you can
- 1:17:55Speaker 3: blame him for maybe not hiring the right guys, but
- 1:17:58Speaker 3: you're not gonna blame him for these drafts. He's just
- 1:18:01Speaker 3: taking recommendations, probably from coaches as well as as as
- 1:18:05Speaker 3: a scout. So, you know, two draft. His first one
- 1:18:10Speaker 3: was not good. Uh, he got Addison. I think the
- 1:18:13Speaker 3: second draft good enough. You get one player out of that,
- 1:18:16Speaker 3: and I think the next year's last year's draft will
- 1:18:18Speaker 3: prove to be a little bit of an improvement, and
- 1:18:21Speaker 3: hopefully this draft coming up will be an improvement.
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: But on paper, to get that both those guys in
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: the first rounds looks pretty damn good.
- 1:18:28Speaker 3: Yeah, at this point, it does. It really doesn't. And Turner,
- 1:18:30Speaker 3: you know it guess off seasons, put weight on, and
- 1:18:33Speaker 3: you know, I think he's got a lot. He's young.
- 1:18:35Speaker 3: I think he's twenty one Chris something like that. So, yeah,
- 1:18:38Speaker 3: lay off the kid. I mean, he's just coming into
- 1:18:41Speaker 3: his own here. But yeah, so I guess until the draft.
- 1:18:46Speaker 3: Uh you know, I'll probably be back on my own
- 1:18:48Speaker 3: to do a show or two before the draft, and
- 1:18:50Speaker 3: we'll talk about now what seems to be a whole
- 1:18:54Speaker 3: different outlook as before it was a week ago. We'll
- 1:18:57Speaker 3: do a little draft and then we'll wrap it up
- 1:18:59Speaker 3: with Chris and I after the draft. Until then, have
- 1:19:03Speaker 3: a good one.
- 1:19:05Speaker 2: M
