- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jaguar fans, welcome in to do wall daily, presented by Gen Jack.com.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jordan Deluga.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_00]: I think so much for being here Wednesday, July, ninth as we inch closer and closer to the start of training camp, which practices will start on July, twenty-third mentioned it yesterday, but if you haven't seen it, a lot of open practices, you can go check out the Jaguar's training camp page on their website, sign up for tickets there free, all that good stuff over at Jaguar's.com.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_00]: So fans will be able to attend a lot of those practices.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_00]: There will be an in stadium scrimmage as well for fans to attend.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_00]: So it should be a lot of fun.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited to get out there.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_00]: That is for sure.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_00]: But
- 0:45[SPEAKER_00]: It is another day in the dead period, and it is another ranking.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_00]: We've got ESPN compiling rankings from executives, coaches, and scouts, and there's over seventy executives, coaches, and scouts that were pulled for this ranking, and for all their positional rankings, and we've got ad pressures today.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_00]: And ad pressures always an interesting one for me, because the Jaguars, they've got two very good ad pressures.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_00]: Josh Hind down and drive on Walker, right?
- 1:14[SPEAKER_00]: So figuring out where they place or
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: don't place in this case.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_00]: It's an interesting exercise, right?
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: So we're going to dive into that today.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all being here supporting the channel.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_00]: You can also check out jingag.com slash shop pick up some new dooval gear like our cool cats T that just dropped yesterday for pre-order.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_00]: Go check it out jingag.com slash shop.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_00]: So
- 1:43[SPEAKER_00]: Coming in at number one is Miles Garrett and our shocker there are two T.J.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: Watt.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: Again, our shocker, Mike a Parsons at three, Max Crosby at four, Nick Bosa at five, everything's feeling fairly chalky, but I do have something to say.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_00]: Here's six tray Hendricks in.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_00]: Again, fairly chalky.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_00]: Seven Aiden Hutchinson.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to go ahead and say I think Aiden Hutchinson should be a lot higher on this list.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know that there are two better edge rushers in the NFL, the Nathan Hutchinson.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: And now he is coming off of a devastating, absolutely devastating the injury.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_00]: He is back.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_00]: He's, you know, getting back to who he was before that, hopefully for the Lions.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_00]: But in true past rush sets, true passing sets,
- 2:37[SPEAKER_00]: Aden Hutchinson's win percentage was almost fifty percent.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he was almost lapping the field last year.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_00]: So to me, Aden Hutchinson should be higher on this list.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_00]: He was playing incredible football before his injury, and I think he will probably continue to play incredible football.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_00]: And of course, Aden Hutchinson is who everyone compares to.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: I won't walk or two.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_00]: Look, I love Trayvon.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, I think he's developed really nicely.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_00]: He's not even Hutchinson.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_00]: Um, Willie Anderson at eight from Division Rival of Houston, Texans, the Neil Hunter at nine from Division Rival Houston Texans.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_00]: Jared verse at ten from the Los Angeles Rams, the rookie.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_00]: Great football player from Florida State.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_00]: Honorable mentions, Brian Burns, New York Giants, Nick Bonito, Denver, Broncos, Jonathan Grenoard, Minnesota Vikings, George Carloftis, Kansas City Chiefs.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: So, Josh Hines Allen, Trayvon Walker not in the top ten, not in the top fourteen.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_00]: If you include those honorable mention guys that four honorable mentions, that makes fourteen players, Josh Hines Allen, Trayvon Walker not among them.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: Now, to me, it's fair that Trayvon is not top ten,
- 3:55[SPEAKER_00]: I think when you're starting to talk about top-fourteenish, that's top-fifteen.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_00]: That's sort of a trade-mom walker conversation kind of belongs.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_00]: But I absolutely think Josh Hines Allen is a top-ten Eddrescher right now.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_00]: And everybody is gonna say, well, just look at the stats, look at the sex, right?
- 4:11[SPEAKER_00]: From last year, in Josh Hines Allen's sack number is worn amazing.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: Trade-mom walker, he did his double digits, which is awesome for him.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_00]: I'm very happy for him that he was able to do that.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_00]: And they're both really good run defenders.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_00]: But the bottom line is context matters.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_00]: The jag wars, defense last year, their defensive coaching, their defensive philosophy, their game plans, execution behind the defensive front, was trash.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_00]: And I want to use a stronger word, but it was trash.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_00]: It was not good.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_00]: It was horrible.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_00]: You had a defensive coordinator coming in and trying to change everybody's body compositions,
- 4:54[SPEAKER_00]: Guys that had record setting years the year before, like Josh Hines Allen.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, let's throw on twenty pounds.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_00]: See how that works.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_00]: He still played damn good football, but clearly wasn't quite as explosive as he normally is.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_00]: Just ridiculous stuff.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_00]: And then also, you're wanting to hold the point with your defensive front instead of push the pocket and really shoot your shot, right?
- 5:23[SPEAKER_00]: and they now have a defensive coach in Anthony Campanile, who has been described by Mason Smith as a coach that is wanting them to go try to make a play.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_00]: When you have the opportunity to go try to make a play, take your shot, it's on you if you miss it, but take your shot, and more often than not, if you allow Josh Hines Allen to take his shot, he's going to make it.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: So to me, I would have Josh Hines Allen
- 5:50[SPEAKER_00]: I think the top five plus Aiden Hutchinson are, you're not touching them right now, right?
- 5:57[SPEAKER_00]: Miles Garrett, TJ Watt, Micah Parsons, Max Crosby, Nick Bosa, Aiden Hutchinson.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's fair if you want to put Tray Hendrickson in front of Josh Hines Allen just because of how insanely productive he has been over the last couple years.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_00]: where I take issue is really the Texans guys.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_00]: I would definitely take Josh Hines Allen over to Neil Hunter and I think that he's right now better than Will Anderson Jr.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_00]: as well.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_00]: Both those guys are very good.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_00]: It's nitpicking a little bit if you want to argue Josh Hines Allen over Will Anderson or to Neil Hunter or argue those guys over him in my mind.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_00]: I think they are all in a similar tier.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_00]: But to me, Josh Hines Allen is the most complete player of all of them, and again, context matters.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_00]: If you take Josh Hines Allen and put him in a Demico Ryan's defense, he is going to light it up consistently.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he's putting up bigger numbers in my mind than either of those guys.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_00]: If you put him in a Demico Ryan's defense.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_00]: Now, hopefully, Anthony Campanile can get him into some situations where he's just able to wreak havoc one-on-one and really
- 7:11[SPEAKER_00]: Show his bag a little bit more.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: Well, Anderson Junior, Daniel Hunter, both great players.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_00]: Jared verse, I can't argue with, man, what he did last year was really impressive.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_00]: If I had to take a player for one game right now, I would still probably take Josh Heinz Allen, but Jared verse very impressive.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_00]: I would definitely take a Heinz Allen over Brian Burns, Nick Benito, John and they were in our George Carl Aftus without question.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_00]: without question.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_00]: Now, Heinz Allen and Trayvon Walker both received votes in this exercise.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_00]: So the players that also received votes but weren't in the top ten and weren't honorable mention are Josh Heinz Allen, Khalil Mack, Ration Gary, Trayvon Walker, Montez Sweat, Greg Russo, Chop Robinson.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_00]: The jag wars by my count are the only team that has two players that received votes or were in the top ten or in the honorable mention outside of their division rival the Houston Texans.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_00]: So that is something to note, that's notable because even if they don't have Josh Hines Allen as a top ten guy,
- 8:38[SPEAKER_00]: Even if they don't have trademark marker as a top ten guy.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_00]: It's clear that the NFL views that duo as one of the best and football.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: and it is one of the best and football, one of the best duos in the game at Edge.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_00]: You got two really good run defenders, two incredible athletes, hard workers, and a ascending past Russia, and Trayvon Walker, who is, again, he had, I mean, as a past Russia entering the league, Trayvon Walker literally, he had the physical tools you're looking for, but he did not have any of the refinement, any of the experience that you're looking for.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_00]: for a top edge russure and he has developed and developed and he is on a trajectory to be a very good edge russure.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_00]: He's still not there.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_00]: The sacks do matter.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think he has become a good edge russure from a past-rush standpoint.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_00]: The fact that he's able to amass lots of pressures and sacks is impressive, but you want that pressure percentage, that past-rush win percentage to greatly increase.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_00]: in the coming years, still a young player too, drive home walkers.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_00]: So I think the ceiling is really high, but this shows you that the NFL views these guys as one of the best duos, even if neither of them is considered top ten right now.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_00]: And again, I think that's highly circumstantial, highly context induced rankings here.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_00]: Like to me, if you remove the context,
- 10:20[SPEAKER_00]: There's no way you can't put Josh Hines Island in the top ten, but I digress.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_00]: The bottom line is the Jaguars have one of the best duos in the game, and they are going to be critical for the Jaguars defense to have the type of success that they're looking for this year.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they're in a much better situation with Anthony Campany Lane company, but it remains to be seen how that will play out.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_00]: Campany Lane still got to prove it.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_00]: Everything so far has been sunshine and rainbows and you absolutely love him.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_00]: I like his teaching style.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_00]: I like his coaching style, but he still hasn't called games yet.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_00]: And he's got to be able to go out there and do that and get these players playing at the highest level that they can individually.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_00]: And if they do that,
- 11:05[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you've seen it.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_00]: They can be the league leaders as a duo in sacks for if I'm Walker and Josh hands down.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_00]: They did it in twenty twenty three just over a year ago, right?
- 11:18[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm excited to see what these guys can do.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_00]: I think that this should put a and I know Josh hands down and see stuff like this.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_00]: He does.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_00]: He pays attention to ranking.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_00]: He cares about legacy.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_00]: He wants to be the best in the league.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_00]: He says that he was close to the best of league in twenty twenty three and twenty twenty four.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_00]: Some really unfortunate things with the coaching staff and different things.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_00]: But I think twenty twenty five is going to be a massive year for Josh Heinz Allen who is in his prime.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_00]: I think he'll be on this list next year.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_00]: Top ten.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_00]: I'd be really surprised if he's not.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_00]: Let me know what y'all think in the comment section below.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
