Latest / Hawk Talk / Recapping Week 14: Seahawks at Texans
Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to Hawk Talk with former Seahawks wide receiver
- 0:05Speaker 1: Michael Bumpus at the ten yard line. Second to day.
- 0:08Speaker 1: Three wide receivers now in motion as Bumpas left to right,
- 0:11Speaker 1: Julius Jones, a single setback Matt Pumpfecks looking at the
- 0:14Speaker 1: goal line, he throws it into the end zone. Touchdown.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Say Hawks, it's Michael Bumpas with a diving catching the
- 0:21Speaker 1: end zone. Our ten yard touchdown reception for Bumpus, and
- 0:25Speaker 1: the kid out of Washington State has found himself a
- 0:29Speaker 1: place on this team. Powered by Seahawks dot Com. Was
- 0:33Speaker 1: when a Hawk Talk recap edition the Seahawks beat the
- 0:36Speaker 1: Texans thirty three to thirteen in Houston and go two
- 0:39Speaker 1: and over the past two weeks. First time they put
- 0:41Speaker 1: together two wins back to back this year. We are excited.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Let's bring in NASA Choby and figure out what had happened.
- 0:47Speaker 1: See what happened at first work. What had happened was
- 0:52Speaker 1: on Hawk Talk victory bump That's what happened. Two victory
- 0:56Speaker 1: Mondays in a row for the Seattle Seahawks, beating the
- 0:58Speaker 1: Texans thirty three to thirteen. Now on their first winning
- 1:01Speaker 1: streak as he mentioned of this season, and it was
- 1:03Speaker 1: a big day. On Sunday, Pete Carroll got its one
- 1:05Speaker 1: hundred and fiftieth regular season victory. He's now the twenty
- 1:09Speaker 1: second NFL coach Evercomberside feat so definitely in some rare company.
- 1:13Speaker 1: But it wasn't all good from the start, Bump. I mean,
- 1:15Speaker 1: the Seahawks came out kind of a slow start defensively,
- 1:18Speaker 1: kind of nervous because we knew that there was issue
- 1:20Speaker 1: with the quarterback between Davis Mills and Tyrod Taylor. They
- 1:23Speaker 1: elected to go with Davis Mills, and he came out
- 1:26Speaker 1: out to jump hot, takes him down on a seven
- 1:28Speaker 1: play seventy five yard touchdown, ending with a Brevin Jordan
- 1:31Speaker 1: catching the end zone, and Mills set a franchise record
- 1:35Speaker 1: Bump starting the game completing his first fourteen passes. So
- 1:40Speaker 1: not a great start, not what you're looking forward defensively,
- 1:43Speaker 1: but from that moment on, the defense locked in. They
- 1:45Speaker 1: did not leave up another touchdown the rest of the way.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Seahawks would respond and honestly, offensively, Bump, that was their
- 1:51Speaker 1: most complete game of the year. They were good from
- 1:53Speaker 1: the start. They had a couple of field goal drives,
- 1:55Speaker 1: big place to lock it or side Penny. So it
- 1:57Speaker 1: was a good day offensively, Bump, what did you see
- 1:59Speaker 1: from that offense? Good day offensively. They responded with that
- 2:03Speaker 1: with a field goal from that I guess what, seven
- 2:06Speaker 1: place seventy five yard drive that Houston jumped out within them.
- 2:09Speaker 1: They really got the run game going early. Man, we
- 2:11Speaker 1: saw something we have not seen all year. That was
- 2:13Speaker 1: a Rashad pennyciting with him being healthy throughout the whole
- 2:17Speaker 1: game and just getting this thing going. Man. He finished
- 2:19Speaker 1: the day with a career one hundred and thirty seven yards,
- 2:21Speaker 1: but it was a build up. It was like he
- 2:23Speaker 1: saw a sixty eight yard run and he saw a
- 2:25Speaker 1: fifteen yard run. The scores a touchdown on a thirty
- 2:27Speaker 1: seven yard run. We saw Rashad Penny really getting too
- 2:30Speaker 1: his groove. And then offensively, it's another efficient day for
- 2:34Speaker 1: Russell Wilson. We'll talk about his stats a little bit later,
- 2:37Speaker 1: but him when Tyler Lockett got going, you saw Gerald
- 2:39Speaker 1: ever kind of shake off the turnovers from last week.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Just offensively, they look good. Good on third downs for
- 2:45Speaker 1: the first time or second time they year. They're over
- 2:47Speaker 1: fifty percent when he comes to third down conversions. It
- 2:50Speaker 1: felt right. Other than that first series, like you mentioned,
- 2:52Speaker 1: everything else is fell into place. Yeah, no question about it.
- 2:55Speaker 1: When you look at their drives chart, it was good. Man.
- 2:56Speaker 1: They did a lot of good things going from the beginning.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Nice field goal, touchdown, punt touchdown, hunt, field goal touchdown, touchdown.
- 3:06Speaker 1: So I mean that's a lot of scoring drives that
- 3:07Speaker 1: we're not typically haven't really seen this whole season, so
- 3:10Speaker 1: it was great to see them just find a rhythm.
- 3:13Speaker 1: And I don't understand it. Well again, we'll talk about
- 3:15Speaker 1: all the playmakers, but Tyler Lockett just finds a way
- 3:18Speaker 1: to get open. Yeah, everyone watched his film, everyone gets
- 3:21Speaker 1: paid to watch film. But he still gets open on
- 3:23Speaker 1: these deep, deep crosses. And one of the better things
- 3:27Speaker 1: from the day is Russell Wilson Man, he's showing exactly
- 3:30Speaker 1: what he's capable of doing. He's been there this whole time,
- 3:33Speaker 1: back to his normal self. You know, the accuracy is
- 3:35Speaker 1: slowly creeping back better and better, and we're seeing what
- 3:39Speaker 1: we're used to seeing, those deep balls, those deep crosses,
- 3:41Speaker 1: those routes that he throws better than anyone on this planet.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Anyone who is alive today does not throw better deep ball.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Than Russell Wilson, so great to see what he's doing there.
- 3:50Speaker 1: And then up front, you know, Jake Curran steps in
- 3:53Speaker 1: gets to start at right tackle. Got his feet wet
- 3:55Speaker 1: last week against the forty nine ers, but he was
- 3:57Speaker 1: playing guard kind of an emergency duty. He practices at tackles,
- 4:01Speaker 1: so he's a little bit more comfortable and he did
- 4:02Speaker 1: some good things. So it was good to see him
- 4:04Speaker 1: out there. And I'm just really overall, I just feel
- 4:08Speaker 1: really good about where this team is at. And a
- 4:09Speaker 1: lot of questions, you know, around town on different sports
- 4:13Speaker 1: stocks shows, have the Seahawks fair give this out? Have
- 4:16Speaker 1: they turned the corner? And I think they have. Yes.
- 4:18Speaker 1: You can come at me with, hey, well Texans are
- 4:21Speaker 1: the worst in every single category, blah blah blah. Well,
- 4:24Speaker 1: the Seahawks have played some other bad teams this year
- 4:26Speaker 1: and didn't look as good as they did on Sunday.
- 4:28Speaker 1: So while they of course still have things to improve
- 4:31Speaker 1: and things that they can get better at, I think
- 4:32Speaker 1: we're finally seeing where this team can go and they're
- 4:35Speaker 1: ceiling and they're hitting the stretch run right when they
- 4:37Speaker 1: need to. One of the key things you said were
- 4:39Speaker 1: no sacks first time all year, Russell Wilson was not
- 4:42Speaker 1: sacked with all the replacements that you mentioned on that
- 4:45Speaker 1: defensive line, replacements and then just guys not being there consistently,
- 4:48Speaker 1: so they're not really finding their group. Can't ignore the
- 4:51Speaker 1: defense shut this team down the Texans in the second half,
- 4:53Speaker 1: second time in two weeks that they've done that. Bobby
- 4:56Speaker 1: Wagner led the charge with a bunch of tackles, Jordan
- 4:58Speaker 1: Brooks behind him. So many play mixes talk about let's
- 5:01Speaker 1: just get right into it. Playmakers, playmakers. The quarterback Russell
- 5:15Speaker 1: Wilson seventeen to twenty eight for two hundred and sixty
- 5:18Speaker 1: yards in two touchdowns you just talked about it, sacked
- 5:21Speaker 1: zero times for the first time all season, finished with
- 5:24Speaker 1: the rating of one hundred and fifteen point two in
- 5:26Speaker 1: Russell Man, Like I said, he is just playing at
- 5:29Speaker 1: a different level. I really like what we're seeing from him. Confidence,
- 5:33Speaker 1: the swagger, just everything about how he's carrying himself. And
- 5:35Speaker 1: there was a little stretch in there where he's about
- 5:38Speaker 1: There was a stretch where he had several incomplete passes
- 5:40Speaker 1: and things like that on a couple of punt drives.
- 5:42Speaker 1: But this team is at its best when they're running
- 5:45Speaker 1: the football and they're doing a mix of things with
- 5:46Speaker 1: a play action and getting those guys involved deep um.
- 5:49Speaker 1: DK had a couple of catches, a couple of nice
- 5:50Speaker 1: runs after the catch. What I liked about Russell in
- 5:53Speaker 1: DC's connection. It wasn't a lot, but that nice little
- 5:56Speaker 1: slant we saw. But we need to see more of
- 5:58Speaker 1: that because that's if they're gonna playoff. We gotta take
- 6:01Speaker 1: that every time. So great to see Russell Wilson executing
- 6:03Speaker 1: and playing at a high level. And he could have
- 6:06Speaker 1: three touchdowns because him and DK missed on a slant
- 6:08Speaker 1: down on the goal line. Again, Russell's getting better every week.
- 6:12Speaker 1: He's gonna start to eliminating those small mistakes as well.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Imagine where this team would go. Tyler locketted a playmaker
- 6:17Speaker 1: five receptions, one hundred and forty two yards, one touchdown,
- 6:20Speaker 1: recorded his fifteenth career game with a hundred yards. He's
- 6:23Speaker 1: almost gone an old NFL season without a hundred yard
- 6:26Speaker 1: games with his fifteenth. There he is. He went for
- 6:30Speaker 1: hit a thousand yards for the third consecutive season. He's
- 6:32Speaker 1: the only other player to do that is the great
- 6:34Speaker 1: Steve Largen. Tyler lockein like he mentioned earlier, he's gonna
- 6:37Speaker 1: run his deep crosses. He finds the sideline, big race
- 6:39Speaker 1: that we should start calling him tiptoe the way he
- 6:42Speaker 1: works a sideline. Just consistent, man, That's all I can
- 6:45Speaker 1: say about him. Just consistent. One of the best receivers
- 6:48Speaker 1: in the league. Doesn't get the love that he deserves.
- 6:50Speaker 1: For sure. We've said this for a long time. He
- 6:52Speaker 1: said this for years. I don't know how it's possible,
- 6:54Speaker 1: but he's still underrated, underrated. He gets a little love
- 6:58Speaker 1: here and there, you know what I'm saying. And he
- 7:00Speaker 1: went to the Pro Bowl early in his career as
- 7:02Speaker 1: a returner. People talk about it when they're playing the Seahawks.
- 7:04Speaker 1: They know it's Lockett in DK. But man, he's first
- 7:09Speaker 1: of all his career. His best season receiving is like
- 7:13Speaker 1: a thousand and thirty seven yards. So he's gonna shatter
- 7:16Speaker 1: his career numbers with five games left, especially at the
- 7:18Speaker 1: rate he's going at. So somehow it's possible. But Tyler
- 7:21Speaker 1: Lockett is still underrated. The next time I want to
- 7:24Speaker 1: talk about Rashad Penny, man, I feel so good for
- 7:28Speaker 1: this man just as a person, as a human being.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Sixteen carries one hundred and thirty seven yards, two touchdowns.
- 7:34Speaker 1: All of those are career highs averaged eight point six
- 7:36Speaker 1: yards to carry. And this man has gone through so
- 7:40Speaker 1: much in his young NFL career. It was great at
- 7:43Speaker 1: San Diego State, was never hurt ever, was never hurt
- 7:46Speaker 1: in high school. He gets to the league and every
- 7:49Speaker 1: year it was something different. He broke his wrist, he hamstring, knee, aco,
- 7:54Speaker 1: you name it. Eight he's had it. And for a
- 7:57Speaker 1: young guy, young man to go through all that and
- 8:00Speaker 1: still figure out a way to come out on the
- 8:01Speaker 1: other end, you know what I'm saying, especially being younger,
- 8:04Speaker 1: all the social media stuff. He talked about that during
- 8:07Speaker 1: his postgame press conference. Just Howard made a decision to
- 8:10Speaker 1: go away from all that negativity and stop looking at Twitter,
- 8:12Speaker 1: stop looking at all the haters doing all this and that,
- 8:15Speaker 1: and he's put that away and he's finally got back
- 8:18Speaker 1: to being healthy. That's what that's why he was drafted
- 8:21Speaker 1: was to see what we saw there. He Carroll talked
- 8:23Speaker 1: about it this morning. Home run hitter, and that's what
- 8:25Speaker 1: he brings to this offense. He's a guy. If he
- 8:27Speaker 1: gets in the open field, good luck. Like he's about
- 8:29Speaker 1: to be gone so just from a personal standpoint and
- 8:31Speaker 1: watching his growth, being to see in the facility since
- 8:33Speaker 1: twenty eighteen, just really happy, happy for my guy, ra
- 8:36Speaker 1: Shot eight returns in college. You put on the film,
- 8:40Speaker 1: you type in with Shot Penny, you're gonna see him
- 8:42Speaker 1: at San Diegos State going bananas. So we knew we
- 8:45Speaker 1: had this big play ability in him. Average eight point
- 8:47Speaker 1: six yards per carried us great. His two touchdowns were
- 8:50Speaker 1: not like on the goal line type touchdowns. Neither you
- 8:52Speaker 1: had to get outside, picked up a couple of blocks
- 8:54Speaker 1: from receivers, open up the stride and getting that end zone.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Big ups with Shot Penny. Bobby Wagoner week he is
- 9:00Speaker 1: on this list. Fifteen tackles, one tackles for a loss.
- 9:02Speaker 1: He's the leading tackler in the NFL. He's always in
- 9:05Speaker 1: the right spot. He's gonna fit you up for sure, tackler.
- 9:08Speaker 1: There's not too many times I see guys get past
- 9:10Speaker 1: Bobby Wagoner once he gets his paws on you. Just
- 9:12Speaker 1: another day at the office for Wagoner. Fifteen tackles, nothing big,
- 9:15Speaker 1: nothing big, double digit tackles all day long. Fifty four
- 9:19Speaker 1: gonna be a first ballot Hall of Famer, showing what
- 9:20Speaker 1: he can do there. Jordan Brooks, his linebacker mate there
- 9:23Speaker 1: had ten tackles on Sunday, double digit tackles for the
- 9:26Speaker 1: fifth straight game, so we got something going in the middle.
- 9:29Speaker 1: I love to see them. We talked about every single
- 9:31Speaker 1: week because every single week Jordan Brooks has been on
- 9:34Speaker 1: here on the playmakers, making play so I love to
- 9:36Speaker 1: see him double digit tackles, doing his thing and helping.
- 9:39Speaker 1: There are some issues at the beginning of the game,
- 9:41Speaker 1: kind of in the middle of field. Some of the
- 9:42Speaker 1: things we saw early on, but they corrected at this
- 9:45Speaker 1: game went on. So good to see those boys making plays.
- 9:48Speaker 1: I was the big homie in the middle. Five tackles,
- 9:51Speaker 1: a half sack cat to share with Rashime Green, one
- 9:53Speaker 1: tackle for lost, one QB hit, and disruptive in the middle.
- 9:57Speaker 1: He's a guy who's gonna take on double teams every
- 9:59Speaker 1: now and then have a game like this, but most
- 10:01Speaker 1: of the time all his victories are unseen. People don't
- 10:03Speaker 1: really understand what he does in the middle. But it's
- 10:05Speaker 1: nice to see somebody like Alwoods get some love, no
- 10:09Speaker 1: question about it. Pete Carroll talked about Alwood's having the
- 10:11Speaker 1: best season of his career and he's thirty four. People
- 10:15Speaker 1: forget he didn't play football last year with a COVID pandemic.
- 10:18Speaker 1: He decided to take last season off take care of
- 10:21Speaker 1: his family, came back and his playing unbelievable football at
- 10:23Speaker 1: thirty four years old. To love to see it there
- 10:26Speaker 1: and another guy want to start some love suits. Ugo
- 10:27Speaker 1: Amadi Ugo, you know that was correct me? If I'm wrong,
- 10:31Speaker 1: I think that had to have been his best game
- 10:33Speaker 1: this year. He felt active, jicks, tackles, one TfL, two
- 10:36Speaker 1: passes defended, almost had a pick just went off his hands.
- 10:40Speaker 1: So if UGO's making place. And the thing that I
- 10:43Speaker 1: really love about this season is the DBS in general. Right,
- 10:46Speaker 1: there's been a ton of injuries in that room between
- 10:49Speaker 1: corners and safeties that the corners were just getting absolutely
- 10:53Speaker 1: crushed at the beginning of this year. Everything was their fault.
- 10:56Speaker 1: They're the worst. They can't play, they can't do this.
- 10:58Speaker 1: So loved what I'm seeing out of you know Google
- 11:00Speaker 1: as Nicol Sidney Jones obviously DJ read once he flipped
- 11:04Speaker 1: the other side, he's been playing really good football. And
- 11:06Speaker 1: then of course you had before he got hurt, Trey
- 11:10Speaker 1: Brown was playing really good football too, So It's really
- 11:12Speaker 1: good to see the secondary despite all the injuries they've had,
- 11:14Speaker 1: despite losing Jamal playing well, Ryan Neil stepping up getting
- 11:17Speaker 1: in there. So big up sets secondary. Yeah, Third, big
- 11:21Speaker 1: ups to the secondary, and big ups to the wide
- 11:23Speaker 1: receiver group was doing the wide receiver round up. Leading
- 11:26Speaker 1: the way. Tyler Lockett five catches, one hundred forty two yards,
- 11:29Speaker 1: one touchdown, a long fifty five DK metcalf. You mentioned
- 11:33Speaker 1: it earlier. Not huge stats, but impact plays, you know
- 11:37Speaker 1: what I mean, like picking up first downs and you
- 11:39Speaker 1: felt his presence even though he only had four catches
- 11:41Speaker 1: for forty three yards along with twenty two. Will Disley
- 11:45Speaker 1: got things right, started off the game with a drop
- 11:47Speaker 1: and then bounced back two for thirty eight. Penney Hard
- 11:50Speaker 1: had one for sixteen. Gerald Ever scored a touchdown. He
- 11:52Speaker 1: had two catches for fifteen yards one touchdown. Nick Bulore
- 11:55Speaker 1: got into the MiGs one for four, Alex Collins one
- 11:57Speaker 1: for one, with Shot Penny one for one. Over raw.
- 12:00Speaker 1: This group has seventeen catches two hundred and sixty yards.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Keep catching that rock, Russell keeps slaying it. I love
- 12:06Speaker 1: that eight people are in this up box score looking
- 12:09Speaker 1: at it. I love to see spreading the wealth. Of course,
- 12:11Speaker 1: you want to see a little bit more targets, but
- 12:13Speaker 1: in general, between Lockett and Medcalfs that's what you want
- 12:16Speaker 1: to see. Seventeen targets between them. Obviously, Lockett has a
- 12:19Speaker 1: huge day with the bulk of the receiving yards. Happy
- 12:22Speaker 1: to see Gerald Everett Man getting that end zone. We
- 12:24Speaker 1: know the week Gerald had against the forty nine ers,
- 12:27Speaker 1: and that's not who he's been all year. He's had
- 12:29Speaker 1: a really good season. He's probably the third best receiving
- 12:32Speaker 1: threat on this team consistently. After having a rough stretch,
- 12:35Speaker 1: it was good to see him go out there, have
- 12:36Speaker 1: a couple of catches, getting the end zone, and boy,
- 12:38Speaker 1: he was taking care of that football. He caught that
- 12:40Speaker 1: ball two hands on it. He was not going to
- 12:43Speaker 1: fumble again. So big ups to Gerald ever number eighty
- 12:45Speaker 1: one making plays. Love it all right, let's go and
- 12:48Speaker 1: watch him film. Rashott Penny seals the Seahawk victory with
- 12:51Speaker 1: this forty seven yard TV run second down and seven
- 12:55Speaker 1: run by Penny left side bridge, one tackle first self,
- 12:58Speaker 1: he is gone ken five touchdown. Seahawks Rashad Penny breaks
- 13:07Speaker 1: in at the line of scrimmage and takes off for
- 13:09Speaker 1: forty seven yards. There's a hundred plus day for the Seahawks.
- 13:14Speaker 1: One hundred thirty seven yards for just Rashad Penny. One
- 13:19Speaker 1: a game. And if you keep doing that, if you
- 13:22Speaker 1: keep pounding that line of scrimmage and the defense, one
- 13:25Speaker 1: of these is gonna break and Rashad has head. Two
- 13:28Speaker 1: of them break today. And love this run by Rashad Penny.
- 13:32Speaker 1: What the Hawks did here was beautiful. Man. They bring in. Look, hey,
- 13:35Speaker 1: we need three tight ends. Let's bring you guys over
- 13:36Speaker 1: to the right side of the line. That forces the
- 13:39Speaker 1: Texas to bring bodies over there, leaving the left side
- 13:41Speaker 1: and more favorable numbers. That's where they start to run.
- 13:44Speaker 1: It's nothing but a stretch zone. You're really trying to
- 13:46Speaker 1: get this line to go east and west and get
- 13:49Speaker 1: outside line means do a great job of getting bodies
- 13:51Speaker 1: on body and double teams. But for the second touchdown
- 13:54Speaker 1: of the game, the Eskirts comes in on a pushcrack
- 13:57Speaker 1: to the safety and really springs the stand. Great patience
- 14:01Speaker 1: by Rashad Penny and he hit it when it was
- 14:02Speaker 1: time to go. Gotta love number one, the little guy
- 14:05Speaker 1: I get in there and making the nice blocking on
- 14:06Speaker 1: the safety, the ball snappy. See Dwayne Brown get kick
- 14:10Speaker 1: out his guys boom, and you see Damian Lewis coming
- 14:12Speaker 1: down the line, gets hat on the linebacker and Rashad
- 14:15Speaker 1: big ups to him. Because Jake Curran's coming coming down
- 14:17Speaker 1: the line, Rashad actually bumps into him, keeps his meat,
- 14:20Speaker 1: gets off a guy jumps, gets through the mess and
- 14:22Speaker 1: in the traffic, and then once he gets in the
- 14:24Speaker 1: open field. Like I mentioned earlier, good luck Rashad Penny.
- 14:27Speaker 1: And here's the thing about fast people. I says all
- 14:30Speaker 1: the time, it looks effortless. When I'm watching him run,
- 14:33Speaker 1: you can tell that's how it looks because the safety
- 14:35Speaker 1: who has a savior angle, looks like he is running
- 14:38Speaker 1: as hard as and he looks like I think it's
- 14:42Speaker 1: king the backside corner. It looks like he's running fast
- 14:45Speaker 1: and he is just getting dusted by Rashad to the
- 14:47Speaker 1: end zone. So I love to see Rashad. As we mentioned,
- 14:49Speaker 1: we talked about a lot. He's gone through a lot,
- 14:51Speaker 1: and he's done some really good things for this football
- 14:53Speaker 1: team this year. And bump if he can stay healthy,
- 14:56Speaker 1: just like moving forward right. So it's almost been a
- 14:59Speaker 1: couple of hurdles. So against forty nine ers, he has
- 15:02Speaker 1: ten carriages, is a lot more active, gets through the
- 15:04Speaker 1: game healthy check step one, comes back the next week,
- 15:07Speaker 1: has a career high and carry sixteen one hundred and
- 15:09Speaker 1: through seven yards, stays healthy throughout the ball game. Do
- 15:12Speaker 1: you envision the Seahawks continue to ride this hot hand
- 15:16Speaker 1: and you expect him to start and get a majority
- 15:18Speaker 1: to carry the rest away. If he does not start
- 15:21Speaker 1: this next game, I will be highly disappointed. I know
- 15:23Speaker 1: this coaching staff is smarter than that. They said this
- 15:26Speaker 1: game they were gonna go with the hot hand and
- 15:28Speaker 1: Rashat Penny was a hot hand from the very first
- 15:30Speaker 1: carriage that he had. Like you said, if you can
- 15:32Speaker 1: stay healthy, this is a different dynamic because I feel
- 15:35Speaker 1: like Alex Collins does a great job in the box
- 15:38Speaker 1: being shifty and picking up like a hard six seven yards,
- 15:42Speaker 1: you know what I mean, He's gonna make guys missed,
- 15:44Speaker 1: whereas Rashat and Pennies is a true home run hit,
- 15:47Speaker 1: Like if he gets to the second or third level,
- 15:48Speaker 1: he has a chance to take this to the house
- 15:50Speaker 1: because he has that speed. So yeah, it should be
- 15:53Speaker 1: it should be Penny's show. I think he still makes
- 15:54Speaker 1: an Alice Collins zone. You can't you can't forget about
- 15:56Speaker 1: him to give Penny a rest. We know his history.
- 15:59Speaker 1: But yeah, man, and all of this has led us
- 16:02Speaker 1: to the greatest formation, and that is Nasachoby. Here comes
- 16:07Speaker 1: the Seahawks offense onto the field and the Vikings defense
- 16:11Speaker 1: crunching out there knowing that one meal down and the
- 16:16Speaker 1: Seahawks are gonna wind the clock down and women this one.
- 16:19Speaker 1: It's the victory formation on Hawk Talk. Two weeks in
- 16:22Speaker 1: a row, the Seahawks getting in victory formation with a
- 16:25Speaker 1: w one of the better games of the season, start
- 16:28Speaker 1: to finish, at least offensively. Defense got it figured out.
- 16:30Speaker 1: I loved how the offense was able to get it
- 16:32Speaker 1: done on the ground in through the air. That's exactly
- 16:34Speaker 1: what you want. They took care of business against it
- 16:37Speaker 1: not a great football team, and that's exactly what you're
- 16:39Speaker 1: supposed to do. I love that they ran the ball
- 16:41Speaker 1: twenty nine times and they only threw at twenty eight.
- 16:44Speaker 1: That means things are going well offensively. When they got
- 16:47Speaker 1: established that running game and then it was able to
- 16:49Speaker 1: open things up over the top, that's exactly the balance
- 16:52Speaker 1: you talk about. Pete Ois sucks about. You want to
- 16:54Speaker 1: have a lot of completions and a lot of runs.
- 16:56Speaker 1: That means you're playing well offensively, So love to see
- 16:58Speaker 1: what they're putting down out there. Offense did everything they
- 17:01Speaker 1: were supposed to do. The defense started off rough and
- 17:03Speaker 1: then bounce back second week in a row. They don't
- 17:05Speaker 1: allow the opposition to score in the second half. These
- 17:09Speaker 1: guys are hyped up, and Pete Carroll said, look, last week,
- 17:11Speaker 1: we ain't done yet. They still got a lot of
- 17:13Speaker 1: work to do. They still are in the playoff pitcher. Technically,
- 17:17Speaker 1: if they can handle what they can handle, you never
- 17:19Speaker 1: know what happens. But you mentioned offense, I mentioned defensive.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Was nice to see, no question about it, and Pete
- 17:24Speaker 1: is right it is again. I don't know how many
- 17:26Speaker 1: times we've said this over the last month that even
- 17:28Speaker 1: every time the Seahawks lost, you're like, whoa, they're technically
- 17:31Speaker 1: not out of it. The seventh seeds here, a seventies here,
- 17:34Speaker 1: and the fact that the seventh seed right now is
- 17:36Speaker 1: the Washington football team who was six and seven. Seattle
- 17:38Speaker 1: Seahawks are five and eight. They're one game behind that
- 17:41Speaker 1: last spot. Obviously, they're like two games back of Washington
- 17:44Speaker 1: because Washington has a tiebreaker there. But they're one game
- 17:47Speaker 1: out of it, and a lot of things are gonna
- 17:48Speaker 1: happen over the next couple of weeks. I really think
- 17:51Speaker 1: if the Seahawks will take care of business against the Rams,
- 17:53Speaker 1: it's gonna be incredibly challenging game on the road. If
- 17:56Speaker 1: they can do that, not only will they prove that
- 17:58Speaker 1: yes they are indeed back and fix, there will be
- 18:01Speaker 1: a dangerous team heading into the stretch run. And if
- 18:04Speaker 1: other teams don't take care of business, I could see
- 18:05Speaker 1: the Seahawks actually finishing nine and eight and maybe somehow
- 18:09Speaker 1: backdoor and their way into the playoffs. But obviously that
- 18:11Speaker 1: means nothing if you don't get it done in La.
- 18:13Speaker 1: So I'm really looking forward to next week's ball game.
- 18:16Speaker 1: All Right, these guys gotta go one another, going down
- 18:18Speaker 1: to Kelli they play the LA Rams. We know the
- 18:21Speaker 1: Rams play Monday night against the Arizona Cardinals. That should
- 18:24Speaker 1: be a good one. Hey, just win the week and
- 18:26Speaker 1: you should be good man one. Thank you guys for
- 18:29Speaker 1: listening to us. This is a Hawk Talk recapetition. The
- 18:31Speaker 1: Seahawks beat the Texans thirty three to thirteen. They've won
- 18:34Speaker 1: two games in the row for the first time this year.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Let's make it three on Michael Bobbis He's now's to Chobe,
- 18:39Speaker 1: Thanks for listening.
