- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Benn and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with her Radio. This is another episode of the Almost
- 0:07Speaker 1: Famous podcast. Ashley is going to be joining us today, yes,
- 0:11Speaker 1: for our interview with a very special guest. Spencer Swice
- 0:15Speaker 1: is gonna be here. Uh you might remember. Spencer's from Chicago,
- 0:18Speaker 1: Illinois's gonna catch up with us on everything he's doing
- 0:21Speaker 1: in his life, what life has looked like post Bachelor.
- 0:25Speaker 1: I know they've made some good friends along the way.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Ashley is gonna sit in for that interview, but before
- 0:30Speaker 1: we do, I want to take a second to hang
- 0:32Speaker 1: out with you all and tell you about Wells Adams
- 0:35Speaker 1: and Sarah Highland's wedding. I just got back from it.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Actually I'm still a little tired. But it was an
- 0:42Speaker 1: incredible event and you can read all about it and
- 0:44Speaker 1: see the pictures in Vogue, which was there to cover
- 0:48Speaker 1: the wedding. It's a pretty good magazine to have cover
- 0:52Speaker 1: your wedding. But a lot of Bachelor Nation guests were there.
- 0:57Speaker 1: I mean, I'm gonna forget some of them, but you
- 1:00Speaker 1: can read about him. But it's Nick Vile. It was
- 1:03Speaker 1: Chris Souls, Chris Harrison was there along. Gael was also
- 1:07Speaker 1: there obviously, I was there along with Daniel Maltby. She
- 1:14Speaker 1: is a friend of Wells is from Nashville. Uh, Courtney
- 1:18Speaker 1: Dober was there. Uh. Joe a grocery store. Joe. That
- 1:24Speaker 1: was a big old list. I want to forget somebody, Oh,
- 1:27Speaker 1: Caitlin Bristow, Jason tart Ik. There's a lot of people.
- 1:31Speaker 1: I'm gonna forget somebody that I really love and care about.
- 1:33Speaker 1: I really enjoyed my time with every person from bachel
- 1:37Speaker 1: Nation that was there. Were I was kind of talking
- 1:39Speaker 1: to Jessica about that. Is it's always good to have
- 1:42Speaker 1: a reunion with people from the show and just have
- 1:45Speaker 1: a second to get to know them a little better.
- 1:48Speaker 1: After I get to know these people better every time
- 1:50Speaker 1: I go. Man, I just I'm very fairly like these people. Okay,
- 1:54Speaker 1: so here's the deal. The wedding, uh was just outside
- 1:58Speaker 1: of Santa Barbara, a little town called Solving. Solving is
- 2:03Speaker 1: a really cute town if you're ever up in that
- 2:05Speaker 1: area to stop by. It was at a vineyard, one
- 2:10Speaker 1: of the most incredible settings I've ever seen. The flower
- 2:13Speaker 1: arrangements were spectacular, And I'm not a big like flower
- 2:17Speaker 1: fan like I usually don't even notice that stuff. But
- 2:20Speaker 1: their flower arrangements were spectacular. The food, we had some
- 2:24Speaker 1: miso sea bass, which everybody was talking about when we
- 2:28Speaker 1: had some beef tenderloin. The food was was out of
- 2:33Speaker 1: this world, the best wedding food I've ever had. UM
- 2:36Speaker 1: A live band. Obviously, a lot of the Modern Family
- 2:38Speaker 1: cast was there. Sean White, Nina doughb Ever also there.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Jessica really loved getting to see Kalin Kalin was there
- 2:47Speaker 1: from Bachelor Nation, uh, and also meeting Debbie Ryan. Jessica
- 2:51Speaker 1: really liked those two girls a lot, spent a lot
- 2:53Speaker 1: of time with them. I got to hang out with
- 2:55Speaker 1: him and uh. And so the setting was this was
- 3:00Speaker 1: a three day event. There was a like a welcome party,
- 3:02Speaker 1: there was the wedding, and then the brunch the next day. Uh.
- 3:06Speaker 1: The wedding UM was what you would typically um I
- 3:11Speaker 1: think a wedding would be like. It was just like
- 3:12Speaker 1: obviously a little bit uh kind of. It was definitely
- 3:16Speaker 1: like the nicest wedding I've ever been to. And then
- 3:19Speaker 1: that evening we had an after party, a lot of celebration,
- 3:23Speaker 1: a lot of love. You obviously know from this podcast
- 3:26Speaker 1: that I love Wells. Wells is a good buddy of mine. UM.
- 3:30Speaker 1: And you know they're obviously tears shared just in celebration
- 3:35Speaker 1: of the two of them. They've had an incredible story
- 3:37Speaker 1: along engagement. UM. They've definitely understood the meaning of being
- 3:42Speaker 1: together through sickness and in health. They both are really
- 3:46Speaker 1: special people, um, for for different reasons. UM, but they
- 3:50Speaker 1: both are that their specialness, their uniqueness makes them an
- 3:53Speaker 1: incredible couple. And you could just tell at this wedding
- 3:56Speaker 1: that everybody was there just to celebrate them, Like it
- 3:58Speaker 1: felt just like a big party of big celebration. You
- 4:02Speaker 1: can read all about it again in Vogue magazine. Also,
- 4:04Speaker 1: I think People magazine we're covering some things. UM, but
- 4:08Speaker 1: that's my experience. Jessicin I had a great time. We
- 4:11Speaker 1: stayed out late, we celebrated hard. Uh, we got to
- 4:17Speaker 1: be around a lot of Bachelor Nation and catch up
- 4:19Speaker 1: with them that we don't always get to see in person,
- 4:22Speaker 1: and then obviously got to meet some new friends as well.
- 4:27Speaker 1: And UH, and we're just so happy. Uh. Jessica and
- 4:30Speaker 1: I are in the almost famous podcast UH celebrates Sara
- 4:34Speaker 1: Wells for finally being able to have their wedding, for
- 4:36Speaker 1: getting married and adding one more incredible couple uh into
- 4:40Speaker 1: this world. So let's recap of Wells and Sarah's wedding
- 4:44Speaker 1: from what I know I can say because I don't
- 4:47Speaker 1: know all of the rules and restrictions to what I
- 4:49Speaker 1: can and cannot say about the wedding, but it's also
- 4:53Speaker 1: my experience from the wedding, which was something very very special.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Hi Ben, I'm here. Um, thank you for telling us
- 5:01Speaker 1: about Sara Mill's wedding. I just caught the end of that.
- 5:03Speaker 1: It looks looked stunning and her dresses were amazing based
- 5:08Speaker 1: on what I saw on Instagram, dresses four four, Oh
- 5:14Speaker 1: my gosh. Okay, well, I think I've only seen two.
- 5:17Speaker 1: I have to go do look at some pictures though.
- 5:18Speaker 1: That is amazing. Wow, that's what like a real celebrity kid.
- 5:23Speaker 1: You not almost famous? You can have four dresses. That's
- 5:28Speaker 1: so amazing. Um okay, well, I am here in Nantucket.
- 5:34Speaker 1: I've got a high noon at noon. Um, my sister's
- 5:42Speaker 1: fiance his family comes out here every year. And because
- 5:46Speaker 1: the travel time is like two hours for me and Jared,
- 5:49Speaker 1: it's an hour drive, and that it's an hour ferry ride.
- 5:52Speaker 1: This is the second time we've come up here and
- 5:54Speaker 1: just spent a day, and I thought it was kind
- 5:56Speaker 1: of fun to have Dawson take a ferry and just
- 5:59Speaker 1: kind of like it out and like do a very
- 6:01Speaker 1: New England vacation before the summer is over. In this
- 6:04Speaker 1: summer here winds down quick like at night. I almost
- 6:09Speaker 1: have to go out with that with a jacket now,
- 6:10Speaker 1: and that really depresses me. Yeah, that's I've never been
- 6:14Speaker 1: Nan tugget Um. But I mean it's gonna be increased
- 6:16Speaker 1: as a whole family coming out. It's just his family
- 6:20Speaker 1: and then then my sister and and me and Jared
- 6:24Speaker 1: and and there's like like six of us right now. Awesome. Well, yeah,
- 6:28Speaker 1: it's gonna be special. Thanks for taking the time to
- 6:30Speaker 1: sit down and chat about everything going on in Batchel Nation.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Obviously there's a lot, as I just mentioned. I just
- 6:36Speaker 1: talked about Saren Wills's wedding. Uh, we also have Spencer
- 6:40Speaker 1: coming on. We're gonna break down the episode today and
- 6:42Speaker 1: then also do Bachelor headlines. A lot to talk about,
- 6:46Speaker 1: So I'm glad you're here to talk about it with
- 6:48Speaker 1: with me. I don't know how to do this without
- 6:50Speaker 1: you today. Oh you could do it without me, I
- 6:53Speaker 1: know you could. Uh. Now we're gonna get Spencer on
- 6:56Speaker 1: the line, and then after that we'll do the episode recap.
- 7:00Speaker 1: But before we do have Spencer, and I have to say,
- 7:02Speaker 1: can you think of his name without hearing Gabby say it,
- 7:07Speaker 1: Spent Spent, Spencer, sp Spencer. Yeah, I'm doing my best.
- 7:14Speaker 1: I got the yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, but you
- 7:22Speaker 1: have to like nod really quickly what you say it.
- 7:24Speaker 1: I wonder if when you say this to him, um,
- 7:29Speaker 1: if you would pick up on what you're what you're referencing,
- 7:33Speaker 1: you would, of course he would. There's like invitations all
- 7:36Speaker 1: over the internet, and I'm sure she's having a good
- 7:40Speaker 1: time with them. Oh definitely. I mean, I've I've really
- 7:43Speaker 1: loved watching Gabby and Rachel. I've I've been fans of
- 7:46Speaker 1: them since the beginning. And you know, when you on
- 7:50Speaker 1: this show, you always find your corks. And then Gabby's
- 7:53Speaker 1: is obviously uh the yeah, like yeah, yeah, she's a
- 7:59Speaker 1: good listener. She's an active listener. I guess what we
- 8:01Speaker 1: could say is at least she you know, she's listening
- 8:03Speaker 1: because she's responding to the things you're saying, which is
- 8:06Speaker 1: a good trait to do. It's just it's just funny
- 8:11Speaker 1: when you watch on TV. Yeah, but yeah, but you
- 8:14Speaker 1: know it's the way she says it, because I feel
- 8:16Speaker 1: like I say yeah as much as she does. But
- 8:18Speaker 1: it's because like she has it's like a quirky tendency
- 8:20Speaker 1: while she does it while like her voice is also
- 8:22Speaker 1: quite unique, like yeah, okay, let's Spencer's wait in the
- 8:28Speaker 1: waiting room. Let's bring him on hell Spencer Spencer, or
- 8:43Speaker 1: as Gabby would say, Spencer. Yeah, no, she Um, she
- 8:49Speaker 1: always had good Greeny Sports. I will always love Spey.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Thanks for joining us today. And there's so much to
- 8:55Speaker 1: talk to you about, because there's what I feel, so
- 8:58Speaker 1: little of what we got to hear you talk about
- 9:01Speaker 1: during the time on the show. But I obviously recording
- 9:06Speaker 1: this on a Tuesday Monday night. Uh, episode aired. It
- 9:09Speaker 1: was your first episode without being on it at all.
- 9:12Speaker 1: How did it feel to watch an episode knowing that
- 9:16Speaker 1: you are no longer a part of the season. It
- 9:21Speaker 1: was actually definitely less anxiety driven. I think you always
- 9:25Speaker 1: worry about what they're gonna show, what they're not gonna show.
- 9:27Speaker 1: You guys have been there before, way more so than me. Um.
- 9:31Speaker 1: But it was also like a really great time for
- 9:33Speaker 1: me because I got to watch my friends and support them. Um,
- 9:37Speaker 1: I think we all I don't know how much you
- 9:39Speaker 1: guys watched last night, but I mean we got to
- 9:41Speaker 1: really understand, like I know these guys because I spent
- 9:43Speaker 1: every waking moment of them for you know, however many
- 9:45Speaker 1: weeks I was there. But I think with this season,
- 9:47Speaker 1: maybe we're getting kind of somewhat half of the screen
- 9:49Speaker 1: time of the people who are on the show. Um,
- 9:52Speaker 1: So you guys and all the viewers in America got
- 9:54Speaker 1: to see the people that I've known now for the
- 9:56Speaker 1: past couple of months. I got to see their personalities more,
- 9:59Speaker 1: their parents, who I've you know, either met or you know,
- 10:02Speaker 1: we talked about while we were on the show. So
- 10:04Speaker 1: I really enjoyed watching even though I wasn't there, because
- 10:06Speaker 1: those are some of my closest friends now, um, and
- 10:08Speaker 1: getting to see you know, they've interact with their families
- 10:10Speaker 1: as well as obviously something I still haven't even seen yet.
- 10:13Speaker 1: So it was great. Did you watch the show before
- 10:16Speaker 1: you're on it before like previous seasons? Yeah, yeah, no,
- 10:23Speaker 1: I did, I think. Um, the first one I really
- 10:25Speaker 1: watched was I grew up with Connor Saley from Hannah
- 10:27Speaker 1: Brown season. Um, yeah, yeah, I haven't talking to him
- 10:31Speaker 1: quite a bit now, UM, but I so, you know,
- 10:34Speaker 1: our hometown kind of kind of all we all watched right,
- 10:38Speaker 1: um to support Connor, and so ever since that, I've
- 10:40Speaker 1: been keeping up with the main characters. Right like after
- 10:43Speaker 1: Hannah Brown, it was you know, Pete Pete Webber, and
- 10:45Speaker 1: so I kind of been trickling down the line keeping
- 10:47Speaker 1: in touch with the main characters and all that. So, UM,
- 10:50Speaker 1: I love the main characters, that's yeah, I mean the
- 10:55Speaker 1: main characters of the of the reality show. But yeah, no,
- 10:58Speaker 1: they have been keeping up the past couple years. So
- 11:02Speaker 1: was there like a relation there as to how you
- 11:04Speaker 1: got on? Like did Connor help you out? Uh? No,
- 11:08Speaker 1: I mean just with a lot of advice. I was
- 11:10Speaker 1: actually in the casting process for a different season, um,
- 11:13Speaker 1: but that got put on hold for um a lot
- 11:16Speaker 1: of reasons, and so ended up working out for this
- 11:19Speaker 1: this season specifically. UM, And I'm pretty happy about that
- 11:23Speaker 1: just because of I know it was a weird season,
- 11:26Speaker 1: but I really enjoyed my time. They're meaning Gabby and
- 11:28Speaker 1: Rachel um and I think the guys I just kind
- 11:30Speaker 1: of really got along with as well. So I couldn't
- 11:32Speaker 1: have best for a better season. And beyond. Can we
- 11:34Speaker 1: can we dig into that a little bit. You know,
- 11:37Speaker 1: obviously I mentioned before you came on in your intro
- 11:40Speaker 1: that you've made some good friendships from the show. You
- 11:42Speaker 1: just mentioned you've made some good friendships from this show.
- 11:45Speaker 1: The drama amongst the cast, I would say was very
- 11:49Speaker 1: limited compared to other seasons this season. Uh what about
- 11:56Speaker 1: kind of the behind the scenes and your time with
- 11:59Speaker 1: the other dudes? Uh did you find so enjoyable? Like
- 12:02Speaker 1: what was so fun about this process? Where some people
- 12:06Speaker 1: get off the show and they're like, Yeah, I didn't
- 12:07Speaker 1: enjoy it. This wasn't fun for me. You obviously have
- 12:10Speaker 1: a different perspective. Yeah, I, Um, I don't know. Maybe
- 12:15Speaker 1: if you asked like Chris, maybe he didn't have such
- 12:16Speaker 1: a good time this season. Um, But I think the
- 12:19Speaker 1: rest of us, the rest of us, the rest of
- 12:21Speaker 1: us did. And I'm not entirely sure, just because I
- 12:24Speaker 1: haven't been on a normal season. Um. And we could
- 12:29Speaker 1: probably go back and forth about this, uh, you know,
- 12:31Speaker 1: comparing your best experiences to mine. Um. I just think
- 12:35Speaker 1: that with there being two bachelorettes, there was a lot
- 12:38Speaker 1: more The stress in the house was a little bit
- 12:41Speaker 1: lower at first because you know, there's not one girl.
- 12:45Speaker 1: There's not one Hannah Brown that you know, Connor and
- 12:48Speaker 1: Tyler and Peter and everybody's trying to talk to you.
- 12:50Speaker 1: There's two. So you know, you had more time with
- 12:54Speaker 1: at least one girl up front if you weren't sure
- 12:56Speaker 1: who you wanted to, you know, pursue. And that also
- 12:59Speaker 1: opened up or dialogue between the guys like, oh, like,
- 13:02Speaker 1: you know, how would your conversation with Rachel. I haven't
- 13:03Speaker 1: talked for her yet, you know what she like, and
- 13:05Speaker 1: so all these things. It was just it was a
- 13:07Speaker 1: lot less stress at first, and so that kind of
- 13:09Speaker 1: built up our um bonding from the start um, which
- 13:13Speaker 1: maybe damp into the drama later on. I'm not entirely sure,
- 13:17Speaker 1: but I think that's kind of where where the friendships
- 13:20Speaker 1: kind of started to started to bloom on our season.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Did you have friends that went to the quote other
- 13:27Speaker 1: side the other team and then you just missed them
- 13:30Speaker 1: like they weren't around anymore. So we missed Yeah, we
- 13:32Speaker 1: missed him a ton. Um. It was it's because they
- 13:36Speaker 1: did when um, they made it a point to be
- 13:38Speaker 1: two separate seasons to different journeys, and they, um, you know,
- 13:42Speaker 1: they were right about that. It really was on the boat. Um,
- 13:45Speaker 1: we were in separate you know areas. It was. It
- 13:47Speaker 1: was we didn't you know. I think you saw we
- 13:49Speaker 1: have like the Social Club and someone like that. I
- 13:51Speaker 1: think the Rachel camp had like a different name for
- 13:53Speaker 1: their crew. But yeah, we weren't hanging out. We only
- 13:55Speaker 1: saw each other cocktail parties. So um, seeing that the
- 13:58Speaker 1: roster Monty cocktail parties will be even what's up man? Like,
- 14:01Speaker 1: We're like, so we would compare notes and they're like, oh,
- 14:03Speaker 1: you went to you know, the basketball Corey Plan the
- 14:05Speaker 1: other other day. So um, it really watched separate seasons
- 14:08Speaker 1: and it sucked having friends on the other side for sure. Yeah,
- 14:13Speaker 1: the let's get to the elephant the room Spencer obviously,
- 14:17Speaker 1: uh Fasgination knows you. Uh, they got to watch you
- 14:21Speaker 1: for many weeks. But the thing I said last week
- 14:25Speaker 1: on this show was we didn't hardly hear from you,
- 14:28Speaker 1: um all season, and uh why was that? Are you
- 14:32Speaker 1: more reserved and quiet? Do you not feel like you
- 14:35Speaker 1: had those big moments? Like what was when you look
- 14:38Speaker 1: back now, what what's your reasoning to why we just
- 14:40Speaker 1: didn't get to see a lot of you. I I'm
- 14:44Speaker 1: definitely a little more reserved. I wouldn't say I'm the
- 14:47Speaker 1: ideal reality TV contestant. Um. And for a lot of reasons,
- 14:54Speaker 1: I'm not sure. Um, I don't know, maybe just just
- 14:59Speaker 1: where I come um, um, trying to remain calm and
- 15:02Speaker 1: stressful situations. I definitely lost it once or twice, but
- 15:05Speaker 1: I don't think they showed it. Um. I don't know.
- 15:09Speaker 1: I don't really know what it is. I think behind
- 15:10Speaker 1: the scenes, I was a lot you know, uh, talkative, laughable, enjoyable,
- 15:15Speaker 1: and I was just kind of worried about, you know,
- 15:17Speaker 1: what kind of edit you might get or might not get.
- 15:19Speaker 1: So that kind of hurt my journey with Gabby actually
- 15:23Speaker 1: looking back, because I wasn't as open or as vulnerable
- 15:26Speaker 1: as I probably should have been or could have been. Um.
- 15:30Speaker 1: So that's why you didn't hear me, um for sure.
- 15:33Speaker 1: And and again it definitely didn't hder my relationship with
- 15:35Speaker 1: again because she was putting herself out there, you know,
- 15:38Speaker 1: being the lead then you know, like you you know,
- 15:40Speaker 1: you're you're you're giving it all out there from episode one.
- 15:43Speaker 1: So that's something I definitely should have done. Um. And yeah,
- 15:46Speaker 1: I'm just kind of like a more reserved, calm person,
- 15:49Speaker 1: and I wasn't really acting up on the show a lot,
- 15:51Speaker 1: So maybe executive producers didn't didn't didn't love that I
- 15:54Speaker 1: wasn't m maybe being as as talkative or or honest
- 15:58Speaker 1: as I could have been. For sure, I always say
- 16:00Speaker 1: that it's better to be a listener and be quiet
- 16:02Speaker 1: and than to be the one that is out there instigating.
- 16:07Speaker 1: So I think you did just find my friend. Thanks.
- 16:09Speaker 1: I appreciate it that everybody is wondering this week Logan's
- 16:14Speaker 1: about what a good Logan's departure. People are like, okay, wait,
- 16:18Speaker 1: so the guys they were find out what happened with Logan,
- 16:22Speaker 1: They were also like mysterious about it, and did he
- 16:27Speaker 1: really have COVID? Or did the producers one about the show?
- 16:30Speaker 1: So do you know the truth? Can you relay for us?
- 16:34Speaker 1: You know? That's hilarious. I like, they have me now
- 16:36Speaker 1: questioning myself if if Logan had COVID, you know, because
- 16:38Speaker 1: you guys have all these crazy here as you see,
- 16:40Speaker 1: these means of like that girl talking to that guy
- 16:42Speaker 1: at that concert. Hilarious. Um, but I think no, as
- 16:46Speaker 1: far as I know him and I'm aware, Um, he
- 16:49Speaker 1: had COVID because he had to quarantine on his you know,
- 16:52Speaker 1: on his like last couple of days out. They followed
- 16:54Speaker 1: every protocol so um, I have not heard otherwise, and
- 16:59Speaker 1: in my experience to be in there, he he had COVID.
- 17:01Speaker 1: We didn't see him. We were actually pretty nervous. We
- 17:04Speaker 1: retested into all that stuff. Um. So if if if
- 17:08Speaker 1: he didn't, I guess they're really kind of uh digging
- 17:11Speaker 1: themselves in and they're not going to reveal if he
- 17:13Speaker 1: didn't or didn't. But I personally think he did. But
- 17:16Speaker 1: then why did nobody else get it? And how? Because
- 17:20Speaker 1: if you saw that date? Um, we were like on
- 17:24Speaker 1: like the we were laying down on our backs and
- 17:26Speaker 1: Gabby was like going from one to another like maybe
- 17:29Speaker 1: kissing a few of us, I don't know exactly kissing
- 17:32Speaker 1: or what so. Um when they were like, yeah, look
- 17:34Speaker 1: at us COVID, I was like, oh my god, we
- 17:36Speaker 1: all have COVID. Um, But I don't know. I don't
- 17:39Speaker 1: know why. Honestly, I have no clue. I I wish
- 17:43Speaker 1: I knew, like for sure, because the Internet now has
- 17:45Speaker 1: me questioning like everything else about the show as well.
- 17:47Speaker 1: So you guys are hilarious, especially Reddit redd it's out
- 17:50Speaker 1: there with some crazy theories. Um, as far as he quarantined,
- 17:56Speaker 1: he quarantined. Well, no one really talks about me because
- 17:58Speaker 1: again we just saw I was on the show for
- 18:00Speaker 1: four minutes over six episodes, which is wild. So I'm
- 18:02Speaker 1: just there for for the good time since to see
- 18:04Speaker 1: the jokes some of you guys make. UM, not you specifically,
- 18:07Speaker 1: but some of the people. Well, you get an upfront
- 18:10Speaker 1: and very close seat to all of the happenings behind
- 18:13Speaker 1: the scenes. Now, you mentioned that you've made some friends
- 18:18Speaker 1: on this show. Who have you stayed really close with? Uh, definitely,
- 18:23Speaker 1: I mean, for sure, a lot of Chicago guys, Um
- 18:25Speaker 1: you talked about, like Nate, Mario Colin Intermaine. Beyond the
- 18:30Speaker 1: Chicago guys, though, I think, um, wow, it's tough because
- 18:34Speaker 1: I really do, um feel like I'm close with a
- 18:36Speaker 1: lot of them. Um, I'll say I mean for sure
- 18:40Speaker 1: the Gabby side, Eric, Eric and I were pretty close
- 18:42Speaker 1: towards the end there. Um, and Johnny was one of
- 18:46Speaker 1: the most funny like people I've ever met. So I
- 18:49Speaker 1: love Johnny as well and I wish him nothing but
- 18:51Speaker 1: the best. Um. Maybe on the Rachel side, you know
- 18:56Speaker 1: Ethan Avan Um. There were some good friends and I
- 18:59Speaker 1: really enjoyed them on the boat when we would run
- 19:01Speaker 1: into each other, Um, and you guys like you run
- 19:05Speaker 1: into him, I think because we had to eat in
- 19:07Speaker 1: the that's where were eating, like the cafeteria on the
- 19:09Speaker 1: on the cruise ship as well. So sometimes like when
- 19:11Speaker 1: you're being taken from the room to um the cafeteria
- 19:15Speaker 1: and you pass him in the elevator, like you that
- 19:16Speaker 1: wasn't supposed to happen. You're like pulling off and everything. Um.
- 19:20Speaker 1: So that was a good break in our day. But
- 19:22Speaker 1: definitely those crew Chicago Eric Ifan Ethan. Yeah. Oh well,
- 19:27Speaker 1: I want to ask you a whole bunch of cruise
- 19:29Speaker 1: ship questions now, but I will keep it to Bachelor.
- 19:32Speaker 1: Are you going to be on Bachelor in Paradise? Um?
- 19:37Speaker 1: I I am not going to be um coming up,
- 19:42Speaker 1: but we'll see in the future. I'm still thinking about everything,
- 19:46Speaker 1: and you guys, you know you experienced it, so maybe
- 19:50Speaker 1: I can ask you is that something I should do? Yes? Okay, yes, right,
- 19:58Speaker 1: just actually I've ben you to go. Actually, yeah, you
- 20:00Speaker 1: liked your time? Yes, it was the most emotionally, um
- 20:06Speaker 1: emotional turmoil I've ever experienced. It was so difficult. It
- 20:11Speaker 1: was like going through emotion boot camp. But obviously I
- 20:16Speaker 1: have a husband and a baby from it, so I'm
- 20:19Speaker 1: happy I was for sure from actually okay, right, yeah,
- 20:25Speaker 1: so that makes you want to go even more? Um, No,
- 20:27Speaker 1: I I think it's a great time. From what I've heard,
- 20:30Speaker 1: most people actually have said, you know, the texting thing
- 20:33Speaker 1: as you Um, yes, uh, so I would love to go.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Um and if it works out, I would definitely love
- 20:41Speaker 1: to go for sure. Um. I think you know, it
- 20:43Speaker 1: would maybe open me up a little bit. I think
- 20:45Speaker 1: we just talked about how I'm quiet, um, and it would,
- 20:48Speaker 1: but it would be good for me to push push
- 20:50Speaker 1: my emotional emotional boundaries for sure on on camera. We
- 20:55Speaker 1: we love to play as game spencer and you're gonna
- 20:57Speaker 1: love it too. You just mentioned that you're interested, or
- 21:02Speaker 1: at least you're open to the idea of Paradise if
- 21:05Speaker 1: Paradise started tomorrow, knowing what you know about Bachelor Nation
- 21:11Speaker 1: and not knowing anything about what happens during Paradise this year.
- 21:15Speaker 1: Who is somebody you would want to take on a
- 21:18Speaker 1: date in Paradise from Bachelor Nation? Oh boy? Wow? Uh
- 21:24Speaker 1: really putting me on the spot. Here. I asked the guys.
- 21:26Speaker 1: I was like, A should have anything prepped in there? Like, no,
- 21:28Speaker 1: just going in it's fun. You guys are good nor questions. Um, wow,
- 21:33Speaker 1: I don't even know. Yes, do you seem very educated?
- 21:37Speaker 1: I do know the franchise pretty well, all the main characters.
- 21:40Speaker 1: I don't think there's like one girl out there who
- 21:42Speaker 1: I would be like, Oh no, I wouldn't go on
- 21:43Speaker 1: like every you know, the past couple of Bachelor seasons
- 21:46Speaker 1: I've watched like m nine of every ten of the
- 21:49Speaker 1: girls are like wow, she's adorable and hilarious and cute,
- 21:52Speaker 1: Like why would I not want to go on a
- 21:53Speaker 1: date with that person? Um? I think from Clayton Seen
- 21:56Speaker 1: is probably the most recent one that I would like
- 22:00Speaker 1: name so Um I thought, you know, I really thought
- 22:03Speaker 1: was just super sweet. Um it was like Teddy, she
- 22:06Speaker 1: was sweet the whole season. I would really like to
- 22:08Speaker 1: get to know it, just as like a person. Um her, Well,
- 22:13Speaker 1: I'm trying to go back. Um, I mean that works.
- 22:17Speaker 1: You said Teddy. I mean we're Teddy fans here were
- 22:19Speaker 1: cann't see a lot of Teddy. Uh, you know, after
- 22:23Speaker 1: really the first week, acclaims that was kind of a weird,
- 22:25Speaker 1: like she was yeah out of the gate, you know,
- 22:29Speaker 1: everybody's talking about her, and then things kind of fizzled out.
- 22:32Speaker 1: I don't know what happened there. Teddy would be a
- 22:35Speaker 1: great choice, Uh, Spincer, I'd love to make that happen
- 22:38Speaker 1: for you. Hopefully next year she's on the beach. Hopefully
- 22:40Speaker 1: you're on the beach and you guys are able to
- 22:43Speaker 1: go jet skiing in in Mexico. That'd be really sweet. Yeah,
- 22:47Speaker 1: that would be a cool day for sure. I think
- 22:49Speaker 1: I've reached my limit of of dates that with Dominatresses
- 22:54Speaker 1: and Amsterdam, I think, oh my gosh. We were talking
- 22:58Speaker 1: about that date last week of cars and we were
- 23:00Speaker 1: just like, you know, we don't always love group dates
- 23:03Speaker 1: and we don't always love overtly sexual dates, but that
- 23:07Speaker 1: one was pretty fun for us to watch as an audience.
- 23:09Speaker 1: But we felt really bad for you guys know it actually,
- 23:14Speaker 1: So it was a super strange day to walking on
- 23:17Speaker 1: And I think some of the memes about me were
- 23:19Speaker 1: like so funny, um because I was like like what
- 23:22Speaker 1: the like, what is this? Like? What is going on?
- 23:25Speaker 1: But it actually ended up being fun because we got
- 23:27Speaker 1: to like at least show the audience some like personality
- 23:31Speaker 1: and for me, as someone who's like pretty non talkative,
- 23:34Speaker 1: that was fun for me to watch back. Um, but yeah,
- 23:37Speaker 1: it was. It was a lot. It was interesting. Group
- 23:40Speaker 1: dates are are never perfect. Um, so I think jet
- 23:43Speaker 1: skiing uh in Paradise would be a little bit, um,
- 23:46Speaker 1: a little bit more intimate or enjoyable, especially you know,
- 23:50Speaker 1: with someone like Teddy who's just like adorable and it
- 23:52Speaker 1: just seems like a really sweet person Um. That's you know,
- 23:55Speaker 1: you know something I would enjoy a well, I'm wishing
- 23:58Speaker 1: that you were there. You're there too, man. Hey uh Spencer,
- 24:03Speaker 1: it's really great to have you on. Thank you for
- 24:06Speaker 1: giving us uh your time. I know that you're around
- 24:11Speaker 1: a lot during the season. We were excited to have
- 24:13Speaker 1: you on to get to hear more from you. We
- 24:15Speaker 1: hope to see more of you in the future. But
- 24:18Speaker 1: until we get to do that, until you come on again,
- 24:21Speaker 1: thanks for coming on this fast podcast. It means a lot, dude.
- 24:24Speaker 1: Of course, Thank you guys. You guys are super amazing.
- 24:27Speaker 1: I appreciate everything you guys do. Everyone I've talked to
- 24:29Speaker 1: is like, oh my god, they're the best. You know,
- 24:31Speaker 1: x y Z. So you have a bunch of fans
- 24:33Speaker 1: within the community, so that means a lot that is
- 24:37Speaker 1: going to I know. Um, yeah, please come back and
- 24:42Speaker 1: give us all the details about the cruise ship and
- 24:44Speaker 1: all the other things that you weren't able to say today.
- 24:47Speaker 1: Of course, of course, actually thank you guys. Alright, this
- 25:00Speaker 1: week's episode is hometowns. Obviously there is a lot to
- 25:04Speaker 1: discuss because there's a lot of hometowns. Ashley, let's get
- 25:08Speaker 1: it started. What do you think at Jason's hometown? Jason's hometown?
- 25:13Speaker 1: My My major takeaway is he doesn't seem like super
- 25:19Speaker 1: into it. He's not super into it. I haven't feel
- 25:23Speaker 1: like into it all season. You don't think that he's
- 25:26Speaker 1: been into like Gabby that much. No, I think he is.
- 25:29Speaker 1: I don't know if he knows how to express it.
- 25:31Speaker 1: He's into I said that, I think after their first
- 25:33Speaker 1: one on one where it's like maybe everybody here is
- 25:36Speaker 1: seeing something I'm not, But I just don't see it.
- 25:39Speaker 1: Like I think he's probably a great dude, and I
- 25:42Speaker 1: think they have some chemistry. I just don't I don't
- 25:47Speaker 1: see like the flirtation that you would expect when we're flirtation.
- 25:54Speaker 1: I feel no chemistry. I was I feel weird about
- 25:56Speaker 1: this because when they were together in France, loved him,
- 26:01Speaker 1: thought that he was the front runner, and then all
- 26:04Speaker 1: of a sudden, I felt nothing. With his hometown. He um,
- 26:10Speaker 1: he seems like he's a nice family. That that house
- 26:13Speaker 1: was really opulent and fun to look at. But that
- 26:16Speaker 1: was my biggest takeaway. That and the fact that his
- 26:19Speaker 1: mom is the absolute opposite of your typical bachelor mom.
- 26:25Speaker 1: She was like, Oh, you're not ready to get engaged,
- 26:28Speaker 1: but I want you to get engaged in this girl tomorrow.
- 26:32Speaker 1: It was hilarious and it made me think, this mom
- 26:35Speaker 1: is a Bachelor fan mom. She signed him up for
- 26:38Speaker 1: the show. Now her her son is close to that
- 26:42Speaker 1: like Pinnacle Final Rose, and he doesn't really care about it,
- 26:45Speaker 1: and she's like, no, you should care about it. I
- 26:48Speaker 1: want you to be happy. Oh yeah, well it was
- 26:53Speaker 1: fun to watch. Like you said, it is a good family.
- 26:55Speaker 1: New Orleans is always amazing. Uh, don't see the flirtation
- 26:59Speaker 1: between the two of them. Definitely would have put it
- 27:00Speaker 1: up there in my top hometown date. So let's move
- 27:03Speaker 1: on then to Zach's hometown, which took place in Anaheim.
- 27:09Speaker 1: Zach's hometown was nice. It was probably obviously with Rachel. Yes,
- 27:14Speaker 1: Zack's hometown, to put it briefly, was probably the family
- 27:19Speaker 1: that you most want to meet out of all the
- 27:22Speaker 1: families we saw today, the family that like it went
- 27:25Speaker 1: according to ideal plan. You know, I'm gonna go meet
- 27:29Speaker 1: the parents, and it went quite smoothly. They're very warm.
- 27:34Speaker 1: I feel like they're warm, but dad was a little intimidating. Okay,
- 27:37Speaker 1: but but I think overall like they accepted her. Yeah,
- 27:41Speaker 1: I mean, I think I think it's I mean, I
- 27:43Speaker 1: would say this. The beauty of hometowns is the uniqueness
- 27:47Speaker 1: of each family. And so some people might see, for example,
- 27:51Speaker 1: and we're going to get to it like Tino's family
- 27:53Speaker 1: and be like, wow, that was really bad, you know,
- 27:56Speaker 1: And every season kind of has the family that doesn't
- 27:59Speaker 1: enjoy the process and doesn't enjoy the idea of what's happening.
- 28:04Speaker 1: I actually like it and I respect it, uh to
- 28:09Speaker 1: the point of where I'd say, yeah, smoothness is cool,
- 28:13Speaker 1: but it's not one. It's not great viewing pleasure. And too,
- 28:16Speaker 1: we don't get to learn as much about the family
- 28:19Speaker 1: as maybe I would ideally want. We didn't get to
- 28:21Speaker 1: learn as much as this family because they weren't they
- 28:23Speaker 1: didn't have as much of an in your phase dynamic. Yeah,
- 28:26Speaker 1: i'd say that. Yeah, I get that. I totally understand that.
- 28:29Speaker 1: But they did have a cute pre date when they
- 28:31Speaker 1: went and they watched the airplanes. I think that really
- 28:33Speaker 1: kicked it off for me. I think this guy, Zach
- 28:36Speaker 1: seems like this is just a prediction on my part. Seriously, guys,
- 28:41Speaker 1: we are not spoiled. I haven't been spoiled for seasons
- 28:43Speaker 1: and seasons. Um. My prediction is that they're really setting
- 28:47Speaker 1: him up to be the heartbroken one, kind of like
- 28:50Speaker 1: a Blake hurtsman. I feel like he's probably the one
- 28:53Speaker 1: that she should pick in the end um and I
- 28:56Speaker 1: think she's going to pick Tino, even though it seems
- 28:59Speaker 1: like Zach and my opinion is way more genuinely invested.
- 29:03Speaker 1: I'm a I'm a Zach fan, I'm on I'm on
- 29:05Speaker 1: Zax team, and I agree with you. I'm on Zack's
- 29:09Speaker 1: team now too. I think what he's showing h is
- 29:13Speaker 1: that one he respects his his family, that he respects Rachel,
- 29:18Speaker 1: and then he also has this creativity around wanting to
- 29:22Speaker 1: have these experiences with Rachel that will be memorable and
- 29:26Speaker 1: meaningful and he's going out of his way to do that,
- 29:28Speaker 1: and so I do. I'm I like Zach a lot. Well,
- 29:31Speaker 1: Gabby has her next hometown. It's Johnny's hometown. Johnny's an
- 29:35Speaker 1: interesting character to me. It's Florida, but he's kind of
- 29:39Speaker 1: one that's snuck up just to share my thoughts. He
- 29:41Speaker 1: snuck up on me. I can't quite fully read him,
- 29:47Speaker 1: but he obviously has Gabby's interest, but he kind of
- 29:51Speaker 1: came out of nowhere from me. I think she's really
- 29:55Speaker 1: physically attracted to him, and I think they have good
- 29:57Speaker 1: like fun, flirty physical attraction band her and chemistry. I
- 30:03Speaker 1: don't know that they're like they're not like long haul people,
- 30:05Speaker 1: and I think we kind of like got a preview
- 30:07Speaker 1: of that. Like he's basically says to his parents like
- 30:10Speaker 1: I'm not ready to get engaged. I'm not going to
- 30:12Speaker 1: get engaged now, and he made it seem like it's
- 30:15Speaker 1: not even like it's not even like he was like,
- 30:17Speaker 1: it's not her. I feel like, okay, I feel like
- 30:22Speaker 1: he's not sold on the fact of being with Gabby
- 30:27Speaker 1: long term. Not sure if he's sold there, and then
- 30:30Speaker 1: I know he's not sold on getting engaged after such
- 30:33Speaker 1: a short period of time, and his parents are actually
- 30:36Speaker 1: again like Jason's parents, like they're kind of encouraging him
- 30:41Speaker 1: two go for it if he feels if he feels
- 30:46Speaker 1: like it's right in two weeks or whatever the amount
- 30:48Speaker 1: of time is that they have left. Uh, they go,
- 30:51Speaker 1: you know, I think you are like mature emotionally enough.
- 30:55Speaker 1: Financially you may not be, but that's something you can
- 30:57Speaker 1: grow together. That conversation really stuck with me. Yeah, financially,
- 31:02Speaker 1: just get engaged. It's gonna work out. Don't worry about it. Uh,
- 31:05Speaker 1: there's things that can happen. No, I mean his family did.
- 31:08Speaker 1: I enjoyed his family dynamics. I loved his family. Yeah,
- 31:13Speaker 1: there was this, there was this back and forth, and
- 31:16Speaker 1: there was this kind of like you'd hope in a
- 31:19Speaker 1: in a parent where you express one thing and they
- 31:22Speaker 1: might not agree with you, and so from a loving
- 31:24Speaker 1: place they kind of tell you what they're seeing. I
- 31:27Speaker 1: think we got that with Johnny's family, and I enjoyed
- 31:30Speaker 1: that that kind of dialogue. He's still up there for me.
- 31:35Speaker 1: I mean, I don't I don't know how long this lasts,
- 31:39Speaker 1: but there is still this. I would put him above
- 31:43Speaker 1: Jason now me too, me too, And like if we
- 31:47Speaker 1: had to rank them, uh so, I wouldn't last week,
- 31:52Speaker 1: but now after some hometowns, I would. And I also
- 31:55Speaker 1: just want to say about Johnny's family and just the
- 31:57Speaker 1: conversation that he had with his parents was the first time,
- 32:00Speaker 1: perhaps or one of the very few times that I've
- 32:04Speaker 1: watched um you know, the contestant talk to their parents
- 32:08Speaker 1: and feel like this feels really authentic. This feels like
- 32:12Speaker 1: there's a hidden camera going on. There's nothing like over
- 32:16Speaker 1: the top about it. This really seems like a conversation,
- 32:19Speaker 1: a serious conversation that I would have with my parents
- 32:21Speaker 1: over dinner, and it would be on air and I
- 32:24Speaker 1: wouldn't have been known it was found. I just really
- 32:27Speaker 1: really liked the vibe there. Yeah, I'm with you. I
- 32:30Speaker 1: don't disagree with anything you just said. The vibe of
- 32:33Speaker 1: this hometown felt very very hometown ish on what you
- 32:39Speaker 1: would expect and want in need. There's a little drama,
- 32:42Speaker 1: they're a little intrigue, but then there's a lot of love. Well,
- 32:46Speaker 1: speaking of drama and intrigue, we have Rachel's hometown next
- 32:49Speaker 1: with Tyler. This one was very unexpected. It was in Wildwood,
- 32:55Speaker 1: New Jersey. I didn't see this coming, Ashley, what in
- 32:59Speaker 1: my reference seen here? You sort of saw it coming
- 33:02Speaker 1: because last week we thought it was super weird that
- 33:05Speaker 1: he didn't have a one on one and he was
- 33:07Speaker 1: going into the hometowns and meeting a family. Why bring
- 33:10Speaker 1: him to hometowns then? I don't know. But anyways, yeah,
- 33:13Speaker 1: lo and behold we see that he he doesn't actually
- 33:15Speaker 1: she doesn't actually meet the family. They go to Wildwood Um,
- 33:21Speaker 1: which is you know, basically like a fair carnival area
- 33:23Speaker 1: on the Jersey shore, you know, a boardwalk, and he
- 33:27Speaker 1: owns one of the games there, so obviously he has
- 33:30Speaker 1: a big community there. He plays the games and goes
- 33:34Speaker 1: on rides with her. It's cute, you know, It's a
- 33:36Speaker 1: cute lead up to great day date before going home,
- 33:39Speaker 1: and of course the cameras waiting. Yeah, but I mean,
- 33:45Speaker 1: out of anybody so far, it feels like Tyler is
- 33:49Speaker 1: sold out. I know this is my wife. I'm all in,
- 33:52Speaker 1: let's go. He says, I'm not just falling in love
- 33:55Speaker 1: with you, I am in love with you, and Rachel
- 33:58Speaker 1: is like just cringing, heartbreaking, and damn did he handle
- 34:09Speaker 1: it like the ultimate gentleman, like could he have been
- 34:11Speaker 1: more perfect in that moment? No, he did really well,
- 34:15Speaker 1: I thought he. I mean, I think he's probably he
- 34:19Speaker 1: didn't even ask act embarrassed, which is probably how I
- 34:22Speaker 1: would have acted, um or like just like no, never mind,
- 34:26Speaker 1: I take it back. I don't really mean what I said.
- 34:28Speaker 1: I don't know what I would have done. But he
- 34:31Speaker 1: he just took it in stride and then gosh, dang it, ash,
- 34:37Speaker 1: I mean, son of a biscuit. His family, his family
- 34:42Speaker 1: was so hyped, and it was like that was hard
- 34:46Speaker 1: for me. I did my awkward like I can't watch
- 34:48Speaker 1: the screen. I've got to walk away because it just
- 34:51Speaker 1: was so hard for me to see how happy they
- 34:53Speaker 1: were and they wouldn't let the poor boy get a
- 34:55Speaker 1: word out. I know, he is just a sweetness. And
- 35:00Speaker 1: my biggest takeaway from that day was this guy is
- 35:03Speaker 1: going to be totally fine. This is not even the
- 35:07Speaker 1: kind of guy that I worry about taking Bachelor at
- 35:10Speaker 1: Fame and becoming an f boy with. I think he
- 35:13Speaker 1: just wants to find somebody to love. And he seems
- 35:17Speaker 1: to use the Ben Higgins word just so lovable. He
- 35:20Speaker 1: is lovable, and he lives in Wildwood, New Jersey and
- 35:23Speaker 1: he's got to be the most eligible bachelor in Wildwood,
- 35:25Speaker 1: New Jersey, now right, I mean I even know where
- 35:28Speaker 1: that's at. But I mean he's I mean, think about
- 35:30Speaker 1: what he can offer you in life. And you can
- 35:32Speaker 1: always have a good time. You can play any game
- 35:34Speaker 1: you want, you can ride ride just nobody else there.
- 35:37Speaker 1: And he's good looking and sweet, he's so cute. Yeah. Um,
- 35:42Speaker 1: but oh it was hard to watch his family. I
- 35:45Speaker 1: just I kept I yelled at the screen. I kind
- 35:47Speaker 1: of do this, I have your reactions. I was like,
- 35:49Speaker 1: let him talk, Like, let him talk. He just goes.
- 35:51Speaker 1: He has to tell you you're you're you're taking the
- 35:54Speaker 1: knife and you're stabbing it in a little farther every time.
- 35:56Speaker 1: You're like Rachel, and they're like Rachel. But then he
- 36:01Speaker 1: had like such incredible patients. Now, and there is something
- 36:06Speaker 1: to be said Ashley, because hometowns are wild and weird
- 36:09Speaker 1: and wacky. There is something to be said about how
- 36:13Speaker 1: the the contestants uh navigate and communicate with their parents.
- 36:19Speaker 1: It's also like you can see a little bit of
- 36:21Speaker 1: their character behind the scenes, and you could tell there
- 36:25Speaker 1: that his character is strong, like he he obviously was
- 36:28Speaker 1: not happy. He was probably a little upset with his family,
- 36:30Speaker 1: but he just let it happen and then he was like, hey,
- 36:32Speaker 1: just let you know this is what happened. And then
- 36:34Speaker 1: there then they all reacted well. But I really was
- 36:38Speaker 1: impressed with him, speaking of a man with character. Our
- 36:41Speaker 1: next home date hometown date was with Gabby and it's
- 36:44Speaker 1: it's with Eric, Eric's hometown. She is in New Jersey
- 36:48Speaker 1: as well. This, um, yeah, this is this hometown. Obviously
- 36:55Speaker 1: there's gonna be a headline here in a bit, um,
- 36:58Speaker 1: but just so everybody knows, Eric's father to pass away
- 37:00Speaker 1: just a few weeks after this hometown date, um, which
- 37:06Speaker 1: brings the gravity of this date in this moment, and
- 37:09Speaker 1: having it recorded, I feel like um to an ever
- 37:15Speaker 1: brings it to even a more real level, a heavier
- 37:18Speaker 1: level than it already was. Watching But this, I mean, actually,
- 37:24Speaker 1: I know I'm kind of like having a monologue here,
- 37:26Speaker 1: But what I found out, you know that I can't
- 37:29Speaker 1: speak about things like this. I just yeah, I feel
- 37:33Speaker 1: it and I can't put it into words. He seemed
- 37:36Speaker 1: like such a sweet, sweet man. Um. Do you could
- 37:39Speaker 1: tell that he was struggling? Yeah, Uh, you could obviously
- 37:43Speaker 1: see he was struggling. You could see the other family
- 37:45Speaker 1: rallying around him and Eric, their excitement for Eric. Uh.
- 37:50Speaker 1: The thing that also here I didn't want to just
- 37:53Speaker 1: go unspoken is that Eric has been on this show
- 37:59Speaker 1: doing the best he can, investing them as much as
- 38:03Speaker 1: he can into this relationship with Gabby, while at the
- 38:06Speaker 1: same time knowing his dad is at home now. Some
- 38:10Speaker 1: would say, like in past seasons, right, how could you
- 38:12Speaker 1: leave him? I'm sure his dad wanted him to go, Like,
- 38:15Speaker 1: I'm sure his dad said, like, you need to do this,
- 38:17Speaker 1: like you need to continue to live your life. You
- 38:19Speaker 1: don't know. I could be around for the next forty years.
- 38:21Speaker 1: I could be around for the next year. You don't
- 38:23Speaker 1: know this. And so let's not judge Eric for leaving.
- 38:26Speaker 1: Let's give him some UM. I don't know if the
- 38:29Speaker 1: word would be grace or just understanding on what his
- 38:33Speaker 1: position now has been through this whole experience. Uh, it's
- 38:36Speaker 1: had to be heavy on him, It's had to be
- 38:38Speaker 1: on his mind. Yet he has done the best he
- 38:39Speaker 1: can to try to still find love. And I'm I
- 38:44Speaker 1: just I want to give him kudos for that. I mean,
- 38:45Speaker 1: I left when my dad was you know, we had
- 38:48Speaker 1: an open heart surgery for my time on the Bachelor.
- 38:50Speaker 1: It's really hard to be focused in the midst of that.
- 38:55Speaker 1: And so yeah, I'm i'm I'm I'm impressed with Eric.
- 38:58Speaker 1: I guess it would be how I sum all that
- 38:59Speaker 1: up me too. There was definitely a feeling of strength
- 39:06Speaker 1: at that home, that hometown date, and such a such
- 39:11Speaker 1: an also, um, a feeling of importance, like you knew
- 39:15Speaker 1: that moment wasn't like a TV moment for them, Like
- 39:17Speaker 1: that was such a real life moment, and every moment
- 39:20Speaker 1: at that point that he had with his son and
- 39:23Speaker 1: he had with his dad counted so much, um that
- 39:27Speaker 1: like every time, I'm sure they're like, this could be
- 39:30Speaker 1: the last time that I'm seeing him. Um, I don't know.
- 39:35Speaker 1: I obviously again him having my speechless moment, but it's
- 39:40Speaker 1: just it was a really that was just a moment.
- 39:45Speaker 1: It's a moment that I will remember watching being speechless
- 39:49Speaker 1: over this is really okay, And I think many people
- 39:53Speaker 1: will be speechless. And that's why, you know, I guess
- 39:57Speaker 1: I did. I wanted to show I wanted to say, like, hey, Eric,
- 40:00Speaker 1: Eric was in it, like this is real life. This
- 40:02Speaker 1: is one of those and we haven't had a lot
- 40:04Speaker 1: of those this season. But it's one of those where
- 40:06Speaker 1: real life kind of comes into contact with the show
- 40:09Speaker 1: and it's no longer, like you said, a TV moment,
- 40:13Speaker 1: and it's we have to we all have to sit
- 40:14Speaker 1: back and understand just how what was happening the sacred
- 40:19Speaker 1: space that was existing in that room, Uh, knowing that
- 40:23Speaker 1: his father was really sick, and knowing that his family
- 40:25Speaker 1: was all there, and just yeah, what was being said
- 40:29Speaker 1: and not said in that moment, uh, you know, to
- 40:32Speaker 1: protect his dad and protect Eric. But it was it
- 40:36Speaker 1: was heavy, and but also I want to say it
- 40:40Speaker 1: was very special because I think they grew, they grew
- 40:45Speaker 1: closer together, um from that time. Like I didn't really
- 40:49Speaker 1: want to say anything along those lines either, but that
- 40:51Speaker 1: is how I felt. Um. It's it just feels like
- 40:58Speaker 1: his dad is learning to be like really watching over
- 41:01Speaker 1: him for what he's going through right now between like
- 41:06Speaker 1: the show and whatever the after facts of the show are.
- 41:10Speaker 1: F cancer. I don't like it. Nobody does sucks um,
- 41:16Speaker 1: and so many of us have had personal experiences with it,
- 41:19Speaker 1: um that have affected us. Switching gears. Now to the
- 41:32Speaker 1: final hometown date, which was Tino's. Obviously this was going
- 41:35Speaker 1: to be held to the end because it was the
- 41:36Speaker 1: most controversial, the most confusing. Um, we always have a
- 41:42Speaker 1: date like this every season. I'm gonna say some things
- 41:46Speaker 1: there about this day actually that I know I'm going
- 41:48Speaker 1: to get a lot of backlash for. Okay, but this
- 41:50Speaker 1: happened in Santa Clarita, California. I again, and I've messaged
- 41:58Speaker 1: you know, I like Tino like I I do. And
- 42:00Speaker 1: I think he has been a fan of the show
- 42:02Speaker 1: coming into it, which is even more confusing to me
- 42:05Speaker 1: on why his hometown date went the way it did
- 42:08Speaker 1: because I know his his family has watched it, like
- 42:10Speaker 1: there's videos of them watching it together. I don't understand
- 42:12Speaker 1: what was happening. Then in this environment, I think Tino
- 42:16Speaker 1: uh is very into Rachel, So I will put that
- 42:19Speaker 1: and say I think he just really like, actually likes her,
- 42:22Speaker 1: believes that it could be his wife. But I would
- 42:24Speaker 1: say this is two weeks in a row where Tino
- 42:27Speaker 1: has been hasn't had his best weeks, uh And and
- 42:30Speaker 1: I say this, and this is where people will probably
- 42:32Speaker 1: get upset with me. I am confused on why his
- 42:35Speaker 1: family was so against the process, considering they knew what
- 42:38Speaker 1: he was getting into and their fans of the show
- 42:40Speaker 1: I don't know what that where that was coming from.
- 42:42Speaker 1: They would have to explain that. But it was his
- 42:45Speaker 1: dismissal of his family's opinions that I felt like, maybe
- 42:49Speaker 1: rubbed me the wrong way. Tell me if I'm wrong,
- 42:51Speaker 1: tell me if you disagree with me. But I felt
- 42:53Speaker 1: like he almost was like unlike maybe Johnny's like Johnny's reaction,
- 43:00Speaker 1: he just wasn't listening to what his family even was
- 43:02Speaker 1: trying to say, am I wrong? You're not wrong, But
- 43:07Speaker 1: there's definitely just like different family relationships, Like my family
- 43:11Speaker 1: is so close, you know, close close clothes can't get
- 43:14Speaker 1: much closer. And we talked to each other, like if
- 43:18Speaker 1: you heard the way that we talked to each other
- 43:20Speaker 1: sometimes each other. Yeah, I remember one time I got
- 43:26Speaker 1: on here and I thought that Lauren took my SD
- 43:30Speaker 1: card and I go, lord card, that's stupid, bitch, And
- 43:34Speaker 1: I literally sound like angry at her, but like then
- 43:37Speaker 1: I told her, I go Lauren. I got on the
- 43:39Speaker 1: podcast and I called Lauren. I said, I called you
- 43:41Speaker 1: a stupid bitch. And I think that people weren't used
- 43:43Speaker 1: to the fact that that's how we talked to each other,
- 43:46Speaker 1: and she would like laughed, you know, and like my
- 43:49Speaker 1: dad tells me all the time, you know, stuff like that,
- 43:54Speaker 1: So I can if it's that, then it's that not
- 43:59Speaker 1: everybody has to be like so totally. I am more
- 44:05Speaker 1: puzzled now that you brought up the fact that they're
- 44:07Speaker 1: fans of the show. And now again I'm worried about um,
- 44:14Speaker 1: him just wanting to win to win, because you know
- 44:17Speaker 1: that that's been a concern of mine the past couple weeks.
- 44:21Speaker 1: And I know that he's been a fan, but like
- 44:23Speaker 1: somehow like putting it together now and like that Final
- 44:28Speaker 1: Rose is something that he's like watched for years, which
- 44:31Speaker 1: is obviously not unlike so many of us. Um, I
- 44:36Speaker 1: don't know why he's giving me f boy vibes so
- 44:39Speaker 1: much and guys, again, like I said last week, it's
- 44:41Speaker 1: not something I want to feel towards him, but I
- 44:43Speaker 1: am there's like something there I can't fully trust. He
- 44:50Speaker 1: his dad did say something on Instagram or on Facebook
- 44:55Speaker 1: a couple of weeks ago. This just came out, you know,
- 44:57Speaker 1: bachelor data. So he wrote a couple of weeks ago,
- 45:02Speaker 1: like Tino, a suitcase had more airtime than Tino did
- 45:06Speaker 1: this week. He wrote that as a Facebook status, and
- 45:09Speaker 1: he goes. I don't know who goes around recording data
- 45:14Speaker 1: like this like some nerd uh, but the data is
- 45:17Speaker 1: out there. So that just makes me feel like the
- 45:20Speaker 1: family is sort of okay. I'm totally like kind of
- 45:22Speaker 1: making up a storyline and being a little dramatic here,
- 45:24Speaker 1: but I'm just, you know, I'm creating a podcast, creating thoughts. Okay,
- 45:30Speaker 1: what if like they really just were obsessed with having
- 45:32Speaker 1: Tino get as much airtime as possible, and maybe them
- 45:34Speaker 1: being fans that kind of knew how to ruffle feathers
- 45:36Speaker 1: and to get some good airtime on a hometown. I
- 45:40Speaker 1: don't know. I'm telling you, I know that that's true.
- 45:43Speaker 1: I don't even think that's true. I'm just saying things now. Well,
- 45:46Speaker 1: here's what we do know. We know they're fans of
- 45:48Speaker 1: the show. Before Tina went on, there's been videos of
- 45:51Speaker 1: them watching it together, which to me is confusing on
- 45:55Speaker 1: why then the reaction was the way it was about
- 45:57Speaker 1: how upset they were that they were at this place.
- 46:00Speaker 1: I don't know behind the scenes, and and none of
- 46:02Speaker 1: us do. But like as she said, she was creating
- 46:04Speaker 1: a thought, this is what's going through her mind as
- 46:07Speaker 1: she is playing back kind of what what just happened
- 46:11Speaker 1: during this episode, but it is confusing for me. This
- 46:15Speaker 1: was definitely not the hometown date that either Rachel or
- 46:18Speaker 1: Tina wanted. And then it also seems like it wasn't
- 46:22Speaker 1: like the family to even won a hometown date, like
- 46:24Speaker 1: for Tina to show up and be like, hey, I'm
- 46:25Speaker 1: really into this person. Like they were against it before
- 46:28Speaker 1: you even walked in. It felt like and I mean
- 46:31Speaker 1: my parents were, you know, super weirded out that I was,
- 46:36Speaker 1: you know, claiming that this was gonna be you know,
- 46:39Speaker 1: my my partner after the show, and that I was
- 46:42Speaker 1: bringing these girls to meet them, and but you know,
- 46:45Speaker 1: they were weird out by I don't think they enjoyed
- 46:47Speaker 1: the idea of it. Obviously today they don't. They still
- 46:51Speaker 1: they don't enjoy the idea of it. But um, they
- 46:54Speaker 1: at least like gave the space to be open to
- 46:58Speaker 1: it because they knew that's what I was doing and
- 47:00Speaker 1: they trust me with that. And I felt like here
- 47:02Speaker 1: they just weren't into it. And I don't know what
- 47:04Speaker 1: of a date that you had with Jojo and her brothers.
- 47:08Speaker 1: Uh yeah, probably, yeah, probably. I probably had a little
- 47:11Speaker 1: bit of a bad memories from that Yeah, now you're right,
- 47:13Speaker 1: it did. And it's just a weird environment to sit
- 47:15Speaker 1: in where you're like, I don't know how to explain
- 47:17Speaker 1: to you, you know, why we're sitting in front of
- 47:19Speaker 1: you today, and then the fact that we're into each
- 47:21Speaker 1: other and we're trying to figure this out. I don't
- 47:23Speaker 1: know how to I can't like explain away the show.
- 47:27Speaker 1: I can't tell you it's gonna work or it's not
- 47:28Speaker 1: gonna work. And so I don't know what kind of
- 47:30Speaker 1: answers you're hoping from me today, Like I I don't
- 47:33Speaker 1: know how to give you answers without just telling you
- 47:34Speaker 1: a bunch of fluffy things that sound nice and get
- 47:38Speaker 1: us through this evening. But yeah, putting me in a
- 47:41Speaker 1: corner doesn't help. That's kind of how I felt, um,
- 47:44Speaker 1: and I think that's how I felt watching it. Was
- 47:46Speaker 1: you know, Rachel's getting there being like, hey, I'm really
- 47:49Speaker 1: into this guy and I potentially want to like be
- 47:52Speaker 1: engaged this man, and by the way his family has
- 47:55Speaker 1: uh definitely made it clear not into it. I don't
- 47:57Speaker 1: know if that's how you want anybody to leave. Well,
- 48:01Speaker 1: Tino seemed to like, You're like, no, everything's fine, and
- 48:06Speaker 1: she was like, no, no, no, that was weird to me. Yeah,
- 48:09Speaker 1: that was weird to me that he tried to do that.
- 48:11Speaker 1: I mean that was like I think he was trying
- 48:13Speaker 1: to save face and trying to make it like so
- 48:16Speaker 1: he slept better than night. But yeah, that was a weird.
- 48:19Speaker 1: I mean, if that's how they show like their love
- 48:21Speaker 1: and support, then I would have other questions. Yeah, I
- 48:25Speaker 1: don't know. The more I think about this, the more
- 48:27Speaker 1: I'm thinking these people love the show. Maybe they talked
- 48:31Speaker 1: to producers beforehand. Producers they were like, you know, put
- 48:35Speaker 1: some ideas in their head and then they're like, yeah,
- 48:38Speaker 1: let's roll of this. Oh goodness, I hope not well.
- 48:43Speaker 1: Next week we get Avan's hometown date. In the mentel all,
- 48:47Speaker 1: We're looking forward to Avan's hometown date. That's all we
- 48:50Speaker 1: got for this episode as hometowns, most of them, not
- 48:52Speaker 1: all of them. Again, even is next week? Mentel all
- 48:55Speaker 1: is next week? And uh yeah, I don't know. I
- 48:58Speaker 1: mean mentel all, it feels like it's going to be
- 49:00Speaker 1: a little bit. There was no fighting here. Why even
- 49:05Speaker 1: have one skip it? Skip it? All? Right? Hey, Ashley,
- 49:09Speaker 1: we got bachelor headlines to roll ride into. Uh, we've
- 49:13Speaker 1: talked about a few of them already. Obviously, Wells and
- 49:17Speaker 1: Sarah's wedding was incredible. Um, I have some amazing stories
- 49:22Speaker 1: that at some point on this podcast I'll share from
- 49:24Speaker 1: the wedding, but I want to give Wells and Sarah
- 49:26Speaker 1: the space to show and share everything they can from
- 49:29Speaker 1: their very special day before I give all the little
- 49:31Speaker 1: like details and the funny moments in between. Okay, of
- 49:35Speaker 1: the people that were there and some of the the
- 49:37Speaker 1: awkward run ins, but jessicin I did have an incredible time,
- 49:41Speaker 1: and h bachel Nation did come out to celebrate with them,
- 49:44Speaker 1: and we are excited for them as they now officially
- 49:47Speaker 1: can be a husband and wife, which had been waiting
- 49:50Speaker 1: for for years. We also, um, you know, I just
- 49:55Speaker 1: want to again say, Hey, Eric, if you ever listen
- 49:57Speaker 1: to this podcast, We're thinking about you and your family. Uh,
- 50:01Speaker 1: your dad. Uh show courage and strength and grace during
- 50:05Speaker 1: this episode. It's all I've ever been able to see
- 50:07Speaker 1: of him. It's all Ashley has been able to see
- 50:09Speaker 1: of him. All a lot of us that watch the
- 50:10Speaker 1: show have ever been able to see of him. But Uh,
- 50:14Speaker 1: it was it was a special moment watching that dynamic
- 50:19Speaker 1: in that hometown. I know it carries a lot of weight.
- 50:21Speaker 1: I know. Um, it was probably hard to see over.
- 50:26Speaker 1: But your dad was a courageous man from what we saw,
- 50:31Speaker 1: and so take that for what you will. But moving
- 50:35Speaker 1: on then to the headlines, we haven't got to talk
- 50:37Speaker 1: about the bachelor. Clayton and also his his contestant, are
- 50:43Speaker 1: they engaged. His girlfriend Susie are no longer living together
- 50:51Speaker 1: and they're gonna do long distance. They're gonna live in
- 50:53Speaker 1: different states, which is not what they told us when
- 50:56Speaker 1: they were on this podcast. So this was like dramatic online,
- 51:02Speaker 1: but they claim it's not really dramatic. So they didn't
- 51:05Speaker 1: move to Virginia together. Clayton moved there for her, and
- 51:09Speaker 1: then on the podcast they alluded to being open to
- 51:12Speaker 1: moving to other places. Well, they are going to move
- 51:14Speaker 1: back to where he was living, Scottsdale, Arizona. But while
- 51:19Speaker 1: they're getting that house together, UM, they are going to
- 51:25Speaker 1: they're gonna be a little bit apart. Clayton is going
- 51:28Speaker 1: to be in Arizona and Susie is going to be
- 51:30Speaker 1: in l a. Um. They said they also are only
- 51:36Speaker 1: fifty minutes a flight apart. They're both chasing their dreams, um,
- 51:42Speaker 1: and it's a commuter, but for right now, that's going
- 51:46Speaker 1: to work for them, um, And what I read it
- 51:50Speaker 1: was mostly it was mostly about them like settling eventually
- 51:55Speaker 1: in Arizona and not so much going back and forth.
- 51:59Speaker 1: But according to this article from people, it's looking more
- 52:02Speaker 1: like it's a long term UM long distance relationship. Well,
- 52:09Speaker 1: we want them to be happy because they seem like
- 52:11Speaker 1: they're supportive and caring for each other, and so long
- 52:14Speaker 1: distance doesn't mean it's bad. I mean, my wife and
- 52:17Speaker 1: had long distance for a long time. Many of you
- 52:19Speaker 1: listening have done long distance. I don't know if it's
- 52:22Speaker 1: ideal or not ideal. It works out for us, it
- 52:23Speaker 1: works out for many, so maybe it's gonna work out
- 52:26Speaker 1: for them. But we want them happy because they seem
- 52:28Speaker 1: great together and we really like the two of them together.
- 52:32Speaker 1: They've been through the Ringer, I mean, they've been through
- 52:34Speaker 1: a lot um with each other so far. Well. Actually, uh,
- 52:39Speaker 1: the final headline today, it's really about Nate Mitchell. He's
- 52:44Speaker 1: still making headlines here even since his departure from the show.
- 52:50Speaker 1: We have articles and headlines here about people um threatening
- 52:56Speaker 1: to not watch the show if he's the batchelor. We
- 52:59Speaker 1: also have people then here saying, hey, we want him
- 53:01Speaker 1: to be the Bachelor, that this is unfair for people
- 53:04Speaker 1: to still be talking about the way you know, this
- 53:07Speaker 1: situation went down where one person on TikTok kind of
- 53:10Speaker 1: said that they're dating or Nate and he didn't tell
- 53:14Speaker 1: about his daughter and then he's all dating other people
- 53:16Speaker 1: at the same time. He has a quote for it,
- 53:19Speaker 1: and uh, and you can break down anything I didn't say.
- 53:21Speaker 1: They're actually he said the reason that you know people
- 53:24Speaker 1: didn't meet his daughters because you have to get through
- 53:26Speaker 1: a king to get to the queen. Is a quote
- 53:29Speaker 1: from Nate Mitchell about this situation. Mm hmmm. And he
- 53:34Speaker 1: said this message to Will Smith's just the two of us.
- 53:40Speaker 1: Um it was pictures and um them daughter and and
- 53:43Speaker 1: and father in front of Cinderella's castle and uh yeah,
- 53:50Speaker 1: just basically denying the fact that Nate ever cheated on
- 53:53Speaker 1: the girl who we discussed last week. Um. She claims.
- 53:57Speaker 1: His ex claims uts he was deeming another girl during
- 54:02Speaker 1: the relationship and that she learned about him having a
- 54:07Speaker 1: daughter on TV even though they dated for a year
- 54:11Speaker 1: and a half, that it's obviously a big deal. Um,
- 54:15Speaker 1: but people are people are rallying to make him not
- 54:19Speaker 1: the Bachelor. People really don't want him to be the
- 54:21Speaker 1: Bachelor after all these rumors. Just a little tidbit here,
- 54:26Speaker 1: Dustin Kennan, you know Peter Webber's bestie. He is longtime
- 54:32Speaker 1: friends with Nate. And he says, first off, let me
- 54:34Speaker 1: say this is not an angel. He's not a perfect guy. Um.
- 54:38Speaker 1: But I feel like you don't go and try to
- 54:41Speaker 1: tarnish someone's name because a relationship didn't work out. It
- 54:44Speaker 1: seems childish to me. So who knows whatever happened there.
- 54:49Speaker 1: But I would say that this is enough speculation in
- 54:53Speaker 1: the hardcore bachelor community, you know, the people that spend
- 54:57Speaker 1: a lot of time talking about and researching on the internet,
- 54:59Speaker 1: that he won't be the next Bachelor. Um. And because
- 55:05Speaker 1: of that, because he seemed to be a front runner
- 55:08Speaker 1: for next Bachelor with this cast of guys, people are
- 55:11Speaker 1: starting to think that Greg Rippo I'd be the next.
- 55:15Speaker 1: This guy's name is just gonna keep popping up until
- 55:18Speaker 1: they make him the Bachelor. He's just got a lot
- 55:20Speaker 1: of fans support behind him. Yeah, I saw that. I
- 55:22Speaker 1: want to be shocked. I want to be surprised he'd be.
- 55:26Speaker 1: You know, if somebody said and we'll do an episode
- 55:27Speaker 1: where you kind of break down who do we think
- 55:29Speaker 1: will be the next Bachelor? He probably at He would
- 55:33Speaker 1: be at the top of my listen who I think
- 55:34Speaker 1: could be it? But there's some others out there as
- 55:36Speaker 1: well well. Ashley. Uh final little headline, I guess just
- 55:41Speaker 1: to say not Bachelor Nation affiliated. But j Lo and
- 55:44Speaker 1: Ben Affley got married. I'm very passionate about this. I
- 55:50Speaker 1: love those two together so so much. I love this
- 55:53Speaker 1: look at him. He's rolling his eyes at me. I'm sorry,
- 55:57Speaker 1: but they're like two of my favorites separately and even
- 56:00Speaker 1: better together. Jared and I feel like we would be
- 56:03Speaker 1: best friends with Ben Affleck. He has a lot of
- 56:05Speaker 1: similar interests in His passion for all the things that
- 56:09Speaker 1: he's interested in really really hits our heart. We really
- 56:13Speaker 1: support Ben. We've loved this relationship back twenty years ago,
- 56:17Speaker 1: and we're very excited when it re reignited last year.
- 56:22Speaker 1: I haven't seen any pictures yet. I feel like Jello's
- 56:25Speaker 1: dress pictures aren't out there, the actual seremony pictures aren't
- 56:29Speaker 1: out there, truly. I found their Vegas wedding more thrilling
- 56:34Speaker 1: than the big elaborate wedding because it was a little
- 56:36Speaker 1: less expected. But either way, I think this is happy
- 56:39Speaker 1: news and I think it's a really cool story. I
- 56:42Speaker 1: just hope it lasts. You know, two huge personalities we'll see.
- 56:46Speaker 1: I hope this is this podcast, and I hope they
- 56:47Speaker 1: know that we're both of fen and we were invited
- 56:50Speaker 1: to their wedding. Hey, Ashley, that's all we got for
- 56:53Speaker 1: everybody today. We'll be back next week breaking down Avan's
- 56:56Speaker 1: hometown day and the Mente law and everything good happening
- 56:59Speaker 1: in Bachelor Nation and also what's happening in our lives.
- 57:02Speaker 1: I think at that point I'll be able to give
- 57:03Speaker 1: some more funny details a couple of funny stories from
- 57:05Speaker 1: the Wells and sarah wedding. But it was it was
- 57:08Speaker 1: special again. Congratulations to the two of them. Congratulations to
- 57:12Speaker 1: Ben affleck In Jennifer Lopez on their wedding. Until next time,
- 57:17Speaker 1: I've been been I've been followed the Ben and Ashley
- 57:20Speaker 1: I Almost Famous podcast on iHeart Radio or subscribe wherever
- 57:24Speaker 1: you listen to podcasts.
