- 0:00Speaker 1: Whoa, Hi everyone, It's Alex Garrett, host of One Log
- 0:07Speaker 1: Up with Alex Garrett aka One Look Up.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Alex.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Excited to have you for a year thirteen of this podcast.
- 0:13Speaker 1: We've gotten through twelve amazing years thanks to you. Here's
- 0:17Speaker 1: to lucky thirteen. All right, back here on the Onely
- 0:21Speaker 1: Up Network, I've got my buddy Caleb Basquez of Latino
- 0:24Speaker 1: Sports Official and just his own brand, NYC Money three
- 0:27Speaker 1: oh one.
- 0:28Speaker 2: You are your own brand, Caleb. Let me just say that.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Talk about picture. How cool was it this weekend?
- 0:34Speaker 3: It was pretty cool, man. You know. It was obviously
- 0:39Speaker 3: a different scenery at a different location. I didn't really
- 0:42Speaker 3: know what to expect because I never never had been
- 0:44Speaker 3: to the Meadowlands ExpoCenter, so you know, that was It
- 0:50Speaker 3: was pretty cool, you know, a little wide open. They
- 0:53Speaker 3: try to keep everything a little bit more separate, more
- 0:56Speaker 3: space for the memorabilia and the shops so that you
- 0:59Speaker 3: can you can shop around and stuff. But overall I
- 1:04Speaker 3: had a great time. Obviously, Friday and Sunday with a
- 1:08Speaker 3: more low key type day. Saturday was pretty crazy, pretty crazy,
- 1:12Speaker 3: but hey, well I love it.
- 1:15Speaker 1: I see pictures of random people I follow, and all
- 1:17Speaker 1: of a sudden, there's Kale right in the picture too.
- 1:19Speaker 1: I mean this to your own comment, I saw you
- 1:21Speaker 1: being spotted too, which is pretty cool.
- 1:23Speaker 3: Yeah. I mean I feel like I was just running
- 1:25Speaker 3: everywhere just catch just kind of catch a photo or
- 1:28Speaker 3: a video or you know, being interviewed and stuff like that.
- 1:32Speaker 1: You know, that's what we were, you know people and
- 1:35Speaker 1: when we go to these things, oh, you just want
- 1:36Speaker 1: to get the player. But really the interaction between the
- 1:39Speaker 1: players and these fans is always something to catch. I mean,
- 1:42Speaker 1: it is a fun time to watch these guys sign all.
- 1:45Speaker 1: I saw David Robinson's sign a football helmet. I'm like,
- 1:48Speaker 1: what's it up to do with baseball? You know, But
- 1:49Speaker 1: these guys get things brought to them. They are just
- 1:52Speaker 1: out layer sometimes.
- 1:53Speaker 3: Hey, like you said, man, at the end of the day,
- 1:55Speaker 3: it's about the fans. It's about the interactions. And you know,
- 1:59Speaker 3: a lot you see out of those genuine interactions with
- 2:04Speaker 3: players that like, like let's say, Chuck n Block I
- 2:08Speaker 3: was seeing on the first night and a documentary, a
- 2:11Speaker 3: lot of people just you know, amazed that they were
- 2:13Speaker 3: able to see these guys and interact with these guys,
- 2:17Speaker 3: and it was pretty amazing to see It never gets old,
- 2:20Speaker 3: you know, because this doesn't happen so often, and especially
- 2:23Speaker 3: Pinstroke prior, it only happens once a year before the
- 2:27Speaker 3: beginning of the season, and that that to me, it
- 2:30Speaker 3: just never gets old because at the end of the day,
- 2:31Speaker 3: that's what I am. Still, I am a big fan.
- 2:34Speaker 3: It never gets old seeing these guys talking to these.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Guys we grew up watching basically, you know.
- 2:39Speaker 3: Yeah, so, I mean.
- 2:41Speaker 2: But it's different for us because I feel like we
- 2:44Speaker 2: have a rapport with some of these guys.
- 2:45Speaker 1: I mean, I literally stop some guys on the drive. Yeah,
- 2:47Speaker 1: why not, because you get to know them over the
- 2:50Speaker 1: years and you started to be able to report them,
- 2:52Speaker 1: and that's even more special, know that you have to
- 2:54Speaker 1: see them playing then you have to know them in
- 2:56Speaker 1: your adult world too.
- 2:58Speaker 3: That's right, It's right. You know, Chuck like was fortunate
- 3:02Speaker 3: enough to even have dinner with him after Pinstrip Pride
- 3:05Speaker 3: on the first night, and you know that to me
- 3:07Speaker 3: still is so amazing. I consider him a friend. I
- 3:10Speaker 3: love whenever he gets to come up here because he
- 3:14Speaker 3: lives in Houston, and just every chance we get to
- 3:17Speaker 3: get together, you know, it's very special, and you know,
- 3:20Speaker 3: he's done what he's done for the Yankees when he
- 3:23Speaker 3: was a player, but it's much more special for me
- 3:25Speaker 3: personally being a friend and just being someone I'm getting
- 3:29Speaker 3: closer and closer to it.
- 3:30Speaker 1: So he's really got a highlight wall though. I mean,
- 3:32Speaker 1: that guy stopped for everybody even behind there. It was
- 3:35Speaker 1: just he is a different character, you know, he just
- 3:38Speaker 1: gets it. As you said, he's the man of the people.
- 3:41Speaker 3: He is. You know. I didn't get to see it
- 3:45Speaker 3: much at Pinstrip Pride obviously, because I already knew, you know,
- 3:48Speaker 3: shout out just in time baseball, because he was going
- 3:51Speaker 3: to be at the baseball clinic up in Greenwich, Connecticut,
- 3:55Speaker 3: So I was able to cover other people and see
- 3:58Speaker 3: other players that were there at the same time before
- 4:00Speaker 3: I had to go. But once we were finally at
- 4:03Speaker 3: the youth baseball clinic, every single kid it was high
- 4:07Speaker 3: how you doing, autograph? Picture, next kid, every single one.
- 4:12Speaker 3: That's who he is. That's why we love him. He
- 4:15Speaker 3: takes the time to greet everybody. It's you know, that's
- 4:21Speaker 3: why he stands out, That's why everyone loves him. That's
- 4:23Speaker 3: why you know, he's well respected. He's the man of
- 4:26Speaker 3: the people and That's why I really think. You know,
- 4:30Speaker 3: a lot of people say that we're putting out the
- 4:32Speaker 3: same team as last year. I was older than that
- 4:35Speaker 3: played last year. He only played for about a month
- 4:37Speaker 3: before he got injured. I think he's going to be
- 4:41Speaker 3: a big piece for us this year. I know for
- 4:43Speaker 3: sure from what I've seen, what I saw on Saturday.
- 4:45Speaker 3: He's moving great, he looks good, he looks healthy. Having
- 4:49Speaker 3: him in that bench suit, it up in the pinstripes
- 4:54Speaker 3: is going to be big for us. It's going to
- 4:55Speaker 3: be another piece that Boon can use. He's going to
- 4:58Speaker 3: be a difference maker for us. I really really believe that,
- 5:02Speaker 3: and I can't wait to see it.
- 5:04Speaker 1: People forget you know, the Anks were almost out of
- 5:06Speaker 1: it in that opening day against Houston a couple of
- 5:08Speaker 1: years ago.
- 5:09Speaker 2: He hit that homer that jolted the whole team alive.
- 5:11Speaker 2: I mean that homer changed the whole game. And that's
- 5:13Speaker 2: the type of energy brings every game.
- 5:15Speaker 1: And when he got hurt last year, it was devastating,
- 5:18Speaker 1: not only because we know him as a person, because
- 5:20Speaker 1: of the athlete he is, and you know, we saw
- 5:23Speaker 1: him in September two and he's like, I'm getting there
- 5:25Speaker 1: I'm getting there, so I feel really confident.
- 5:27Speaker 3: Yeah, we could use him in so many ways. That's why, Like,
- 5:29Speaker 3: if people still think we have holes, he's the one
- 5:32Speaker 3: that can plug him because he could be at first,
- 5:35Speaker 3: he could be at third, he could be that right
- 5:38Speaker 3: field if Judge needs a break. I mean, that's just
- 5:41Speaker 3: such a solid piece. And he worked so hard and
- 5:44Speaker 3: he's still working so hard to get back to be
- 5:46Speaker 3: one hundred percent healthy. Hey, but let me tell you
- 5:48Speaker 3: right now, he looks great. At the youth baseball clinic,
- 5:51Speaker 3: he was moving around, he was, you know, just with
- 5:55Speaker 3: the kids and showing how to do different drills. He
- 5:58Speaker 3: looked great. He looks great. Still a little bit of
- 6:01Speaker 3: a waste till the season starts, actually fifty days still
- 6:04Speaker 3: opening day as of today, and I'm confident he'll be ready.
- 6:09Speaker 3: All right.
- 6:10Speaker 1: I gotta ask about Bernie because he's the other guy
- 6:11Speaker 1: that sort of just ingratiates himself with everybody wherever you're
- 6:15Speaker 1: at with him. What a special person he is too.
- 6:17Speaker 1: I mean he gets it on and off the field.
- 6:20Speaker 3: Yeah, he's uh, he's great, man. Bernie is great. You know.
- 6:25Speaker 3: He was a little under the weather this weekend, so
- 6:28Speaker 3: but it was nice to see him, you know, behind
- 6:31Speaker 3: the scenes that pins right pride, and he was talking about,
- 6:34Speaker 3: you know, Team Puerto Rico. You know, with World Baseball
- 6:36Speaker 3: Classic now coming.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Up in a month, which will you be going to
- 6:40Speaker 1: as a media as a fan.
- 6:42Speaker 3: I will be going as a fan. Latino Sports will
- 6:45Speaker 3: be covering the World Baseball Classic in Puerto Rico and Miami.
- 6:51Speaker 3: But me myself, I'm going to be bringing a lot
- 6:54Speaker 3: of that fan content over to you guys, which is,
- 6:58Speaker 3: you know what I love to do. And you know,
- 7:03Speaker 3: I mean Bernie was speaking about what's going on with
- 7:05Speaker 3: Team Puerto Rico and what's really would be unfortunate if
- 7:09Speaker 3: they pull out or if they boycott the Classic because
- 7:12Speaker 3: of so many of their stars not being able to play.
- 7:16Speaker 3: But what Bernie kind of what he was saying was
- 7:19Speaker 3: they they should, you know, kind of just have the
- 7:22Speaker 3: next man up. I mean, it's still it'd be devastating
- 7:25Speaker 3: if Puerto Rico doesn't play. They're one of the host countries,
- 7:28Speaker 3: and why not just give the next guy a shot.
- 7:31Speaker 2: It's a nice they have such a rich thing and
- 7:34Speaker 2: they have such a fan base, you know, I.
- 7:35Speaker 3: Mean, yeah's it wouldn't be fair to the fans, of course,
- 7:38Speaker 3: but it may also give the next guy up a chance.
- 7:42Speaker 3: It's it's going to be on the national stage. You
- 7:45Speaker 3: never know what may happen. They you know, can help
- 7:48Speaker 3: him out, you know, with whatever team that they play
- 7:50Speaker 3: for in the major leagues. Hey have it be next
- 7:53Speaker 3: guy up. Don't don't just just drop out. I mean,
- 7:57Speaker 3: especially since you're a host country, and I think behind
- 7:59Speaker 3: this they're trying to still work things. Well.
- 8:01Speaker 2: I think, so just joined them, if I'm not mistaken.
- 8:03Speaker 3: So that's well, that's that's Dominican Republic. We're talking about
- 8:06Speaker 3: Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico. You know, that's Francisco Lindor. Edwin
- 8:10Speaker 3: Diaz just joined. Thankfully he's with the Dodgers. But I
- 8:14Speaker 3: think behind the scenes, from what I've seen being reported
- 8:17Speaker 3: and stuff, Francisco Lindor is trying to work out something
- 8:22Speaker 3: that that he can still at least play, I believe,
- 8:25Speaker 3: with a private insurance company that will cover him, because
- 8:27Speaker 3: you know, things happen, they do get injured and then
- 8:30Speaker 3: they'll lose a lot of money. But this, this is
- 8:34Speaker 3: the World Baseball Classic, only happens every three four years.
- 8:38Speaker 3: This is very special. This is as hot the hype
- 8:40Speaker 3: is as high as it's ever been because of what
- 8:43Speaker 3: happened the last time between USA and Japan and.
- 8:45Speaker 1: The final because we won't we won't show to trout
- 8:49Speaker 1: now because is not pitching, but the way that that
- 8:53Speaker 1: Baseball Classic edit, the two of them again, Geler, that's
- 8:57Speaker 1: what made it a classic that really was.
- 8:59Speaker 3: Yeah, And I mean you see Team USA, you see
- 9:03Speaker 3: Team VR like they're stacked man Team Japan stacked like these.
- 9:09Speaker 3: This is the season before the season for us, especially
- 9:12Speaker 3: with possibly a strike coming in twenty twenty seven. This
- 9:17Speaker 3: might be the last year of baseball for god knows
- 9:19Speaker 3: how long, and so you know, everything's really going into
- 9:23Speaker 3: this season media wise as well. We want to be
- 9:25Speaker 3: able to cover everything and anything, be out there, be
- 9:29Speaker 3: wherever the stars of the game is or are. And
- 9:34Speaker 3: you know, that's really something to keep in mind because unfortunately,
- 9:38Speaker 3: there may be a strike next year. So with all
- 9:41Speaker 3: this extra baseball that we're getting this year, we're very
- 9:45Speaker 3: lucky and so and we'll definitely looking forward to it.
- 9:49Speaker 1: All right, now, this is what you're we'll get back
- 9:51Speaker 1: to the world baseball class because your guy and my guy,
- 9:53Speaker 1: Aaron Judge is going to be.
- 9:54Speaker 3: In there with a huge cats the captain.
- 9:58Speaker 2: Man, Yeah, and that's going to be great.
- 10:01Speaker 3: I just can't I can't wait for his jersey to
- 10:04Speaker 3: finally be on sale. Man, I'm going to buy like
- 10:05Speaker 3: ninety nine of those.
- 10:06Speaker 1: Man it Let's go back to Hall of Fame Science
- 10:11Speaker 1: Pindroy Pride. I do feel like media or not, they
- 10:15Speaker 1: do give you an opportunity to connect with these guys
- 10:18Speaker 1: in ways that many don't. I mean, I love an access,
- 10:21Speaker 1: but they were a little more stricter. I feel like Pindroy.
- 10:23Speaker 3: Price, It's it's very different Fina ex vessus. You know,
- 10:29Speaker 3: it's strictly business. Obviously all Hall of Fame assignings is
- 10:33Speaker 3: as well. But you know, hey, look I really I
- 10:37Speaker 3: didn't ask for media past last year. This year, I'm
- 10:42Speaker 3: not really sure exactly what happened with many people not
- 10:45Speaker 3: being able to get the access or whatever. But you know,
- 10:48Speaker 3: I think these players know more and more who we
- 10:54Speaker 3: are on the other side, who the people who are
- 10:57Speaker 3: asking the questions trying to get interviews, and and so
- 11:00Speaker 3: you were able to see at least that the players
- 11:02Speaker 3: were lenient and be able to respond if you ask,
- 11:08Speaker 3: because well, well it's a.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Very intimate setting. No matter what your what venue, what
- 11:12Speaker 2: part you're there for.
- 11:13Speaker 1: You know, if you're getting signed, it's intimate there too,
- 11:15Speaker 1: because they literally talk to you for a good five
- 11:17Speaker 1: to ten minutes. If your media, they do give you
- 11:19Speaker 1: a lot of time stuck. And if you're just you know,
- 11:21Speaker 1: they're hoping to you know, meet these guys again, they're
- 11:25Speaker 1: there too, So just it's a very intimate event.
- 11:28Speaker 2: I guess I would try and say, you know.
- 11:30Speaker 3: It was at least for me, you know, I didn't
- 11:33Speaker 3: get everything I wanted. I think we got plenty. Fortunately,
- 11:37Speaker 3: you know, like you mentioned, I am part of Latino Sports.
- 11:40Speaker 3: We are a team. We have each other, We have
- 11:43Speaker 3: to go off each other with whatever it is that
- 11:45Speaker 3: we're trying to cover, whether it's photography or videography or
- 11:49Speaker 3: interviews or whatnot, and so it was a bit easier
- 11:52Speaker 3: for us to try to work as a team here
- 11:54Speaker 3: and moving forward. That's that's how fortunate I am to
- 11:58Speaker 3: be part of this team now, and that's.
- 12:01Speaker 1: What I wants. You're instram right now. You're dropping content
- 12:05Speaker 1: almost every day from this, So that's why I.
- 12:06Speaker 2: Want for people to instagram right now.
- 12:10Speaker 3: I learned that almost exactly a year ago Alex. You know,
- 12:15Speaker 3: I preach to you you can't be afraid. You can't.
- 12:18Speaker 3: Don't worry about you know, how how it's looked, at,
- 12:21Speaker 3: how it's judged. Put it out there. Put it out
- 12:24Speaker 3: there as many times as you can every day. I
- 12:26Speaker 3: mean I was afraid. I was really I remember having
- 12:29Speaker 3: that fear of like, why would I put something out
- 12:32Speaker 3: almost constantly every day? But you know what, I made
- 12:35Speaker 3: a decision, and it was last year that I told
- 12:37Speaker 3: myself I'm going to put something at least once every
- 12:41Speaker 3: single day, and now it's becoming more of at least
- 12:45Speaker 3: two every day, at least three put it out there.
- 12:48Speaker 3: And then you know, sometimes you know, we're all humans here.
- 12:50Speaker 3: You take a break, you take a day or two. Often.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Did you make it to Bernie's concert?
- 12:54Speaker 1: I never asked you if you were at the concert
- 12:55Speaker 1: for Bernie Williams at all.
- 12:57Speaker 3: Oh no, I didn't make it to there. Now, But
- 12:58Speaker 3: Latino Sports wasn't the big building. You know, our boy
- 13:01Speaker 3: Joel who was there with him, other members Anna and
- 13:06Speaker 3: Robin were there for as attendees, and you know, I
- 13:11Speaker 3: was even telling them put it out there. Put something.
- 13:14Speaker 3: We were able to write about it, which was a
- 13:16Speaker 3: great article that Bernie Williams actually thanked me and us for,
- 13:22Speaker 3: Like there was a great article that Anna wrote. Put
- 13:26Speaker 3: it out there, Just put it out there, and just
- 13:29Speaker 3: constantly keep putting it. You don't know who might come
- 13:32Speaker 3: across your content, whether it's an article or a photo
- 13:36Speaker 3: or video anything. You never know. He wouldn't get out there,
- 13:40Speaker 3: and you never know it might be that one that
- 13:43Speaker 3: catches somebody's eye that is a higher up and something
- 13:48Speaker 3: special might happen.
- 13:49Speaker 2: You never know the breakthrough exactly.
- 13:51Speaker 1: All right, Does a moment like this, an event like
- 13:54Speaker 1: this make you want to go to Cooperstown because I
- 13:55Speaker 1: want to kind of see what it's like. I'll big
- 13:57Speaker 1: Cooper's and I've never done the Hall of Fame stuff
- 13:59Speaker 1: up there. Kind of curious now.
- 14:01Speaker 3: So very so. Fortunately I was told, actually, you know
- 14:05Speaker 3: now being with this with the Latino Sports team, we
- 14:08Speaker 3: will be going as a group as a group with
- 14:12Speaker 3: a Latino being inducted, Carlos Beltrand. And I was fortunate
- 14:17Speaker 3: enough to meet Andrew Jones over the weekend and get
- 14:20Speaker 3: his autograph. He was the only autograph I actually purchased
- 14:24Speaker 3: over the weekend. You know, being a Hall of Famer now,
- 14:27Speaker 3: great player obviously, great great man as well. He very
- 14:30Speaker 3: very respectable guy, very was very nice to meet him.
- 14:34Speaker 3: But Latino Sports will be going up there. Details to
- 14:38Speaker 3: come out hopefully very soon, we'll see, but we will
- 14:41Speaker 3: have a bus going all together with the team. Anybody
- 14:45Speaker 3: that would like to join us. I believe we will
- 14:47Speaker 3: have you know, a sale of tickets and it will
- 14:51Speaker 3: be my first time and it's definitely a bucket list item.
- 14:54Speaker 3: I've always wanted to go up to Cooperstown. My best
- 14:56Speaker 3: friend Steve, he grew up in baseball, his father still
- 15:01Speaker 3: coaches in college and he's gone multiple times and he
- 15:04Speaker 3: talks about it all the time that it's just a
- 15:06Speaker 3: special place with history and you know, if you love
- 15:10Speaker 3: the game, which which I do, it's definitely somewhere you
- 15:15Speaker 3: need to be.
- 15:15Speaker 1: So all right, And obviously Andrew's going in, Jeff Kenn's
- 15:20Speaker 1: going in, when will done? And Mane get in? I
- 15:22Speaker 1: mean we saw him this weekend a little bit. It's
- 15:25Speaker 1: just that's the one I really want to see get
- 15:26Speaker 1: and that's the push right there.
- 15:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm not sure, man, I'm not sure.
- 15:32Speaker 2: How was his movie?
- 15:33Speaker 1: I know we've seen him, you've seen him a couple
- 15:35Speaker 1: of times since moving on from the Toronto Jays to
- 15:37Speaker 1: now Philly.
- 15:38Speaker 2: I mean, he's been asking almost everywhere he goes.
- 15:40Speaker 3: I feel like, yeah, it's it's I don't know. I
- 15:46Speaker 3: think what we can do as a fan base is
- 15:49Speaker 3: is put it out there how much we want him
- 15:52Speaker 3: to be in Maybe that I don't know, if that
- 15:54Speaker 3: you know, shakes like maybe it will affect anything. But
- 15:58Speaker 3: that's all we can do. Really. I mean I remember
- 16:00Speaker 3: when he was at the MLB store for the Golden
- 16:03Speaker 3: Globe Award event, you know, the twin Stripe boys, they
- 16:08Speaker 3: had their shirts on, and you know, it's it's something
- 16:11Speaker 3: that maybe we could push as a fan base, like,
- 16:13Speaker 3: look like for next year, you know, like come on, like,
- 16:16Speaker 3: let's go get Donnie in the hall.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Him and Eli. And by the way, the Giants won
- 16:20Speaker 1: the Super Bowl. High camily, what I'm saying eighteen years
- 16:23Speaker 1: ago today, that's.
- 16:24Speaker 3: The helmet catch was eighteen years ago today, asked well,
- 16:28Speaker 3: speaking of Eli, I mean, hey, it's I kind of
- 16:32Speaker 3: knew it wasn't going to be a first ballot. Maybe
- 16:36Speaker 3: I can't admit that it was not going to be
- 16:37Speaker 3: the second year too, But if it doesn't happen next year,
- 16:41Speaker 3: then I think there's a that's a real issue. I mean,
- 16:44Speaker 3: it's all. It just feels tainted, man, because especially with
- 16:47Speaker 3: Bill Belichick not being a first ballot.
- 16:49Speaker 1: And then they acknowledged bylaws or violated for Belichick, then
- 16:52Speaker 1: what makes you didn't get didn't happen for Eli?
- 16:54Speaker 3: You know, what more is needed? Like six super Bowls
- 16:59Speaker 3: as a coach and however many as an assistant? I
- 17:01Speaker 3: don't know. I mean what we wanted to.
- 17:04Speaker 2: Do the Giants. I think on both teams. He was
- 17:06Speaker 2: assistant on the Giants.
- 17:07Speaker 3: What more do you need on your resume to be
- 17:10Speaker 3: like almost an unanimous entry. I don't get it. It's hey,
- 17:14Speaker 3: look from when that announcement came out, especially for Belichick,
- 17:19Speaker 3: like the anger and the reactions from people, it was
- 17:22Speaker 3: just it's really, this is ridiculous, man. It's if if
- 17:26Speaker 3: if he's not in because of like for personal reasons
- 17:29Speaker 3: on whoever it is in charge of that, that that's
- 17:31Speaker 3: not that's so unfair. And I mean I don't know
- 17:35Speaker 3: that there's you know, I don't want to say too
- 17:38Speaker 3: much because I might get disrespectful, but look that that's
- 17:41Speaker 3: somebody right there that that deserves one hundred percent to
- 17:44Speaker 3: be in. And that makes me a little scared for
- 17:47Speaker 3: Eli too, because I truly believe he deserves to be
- 17:50Speaker 3: in the's two Super Bowls. It's hard enough just to
- 17:53Speaker 3: get one.
- 17:53Speaker 1: He got two streak of active play.
- 17:57Speaker 3: Like and he beat the best quarterback ever to play
- 18:01Speaker 3: the game twice. And look, I've heard I've heard this
- 18:05Speaker 3: somewhere the other day. Let's say, like his career was
- 18:08Speaker 3: only ten years long, he only had a ten year career,
- 18:11Speaker 3: and he already won the two Super Bowls? What about then?
- 18:16Speaker 3: It's not his fault that he continued to play for
- 18:18Speaker 3: the Giants, who meant, for the majority of his career
- 18:22Speaker 3: were not good. They were just not good. And the coach,
- 18:25Speaker 3: you know, going through different coaches after Coughlin and everything
- 18:30Speaker 3: like that. I mean, that's not Eli's fault. But what
- 18:33Speaker 3: if there was he only had a ten year career,
- 18:36Speaker 3: he could have been a first ballot, but unfortunately, you know,
- 18:39Speaker 3: he continued on, he kept putting the You know, his.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Also ranked pretty high up like you don't realize it,
- 18:46Speaker 1: he ranked up pretty much in his stats. I didn't
- 18:48Speaker 1: realize he's like top twenty five in a lot of categories.
- 18:50Speaker 1: So you know, it's the stats don't lie, all right, cap,
- 18:54Speaker 1: I have to say this. I was so impressed with
- 18:56Speaker 1: your busy, busy beingus over the weekend, PINDROI probably.
- 19:01Speaker 2: Going everywhere and anywhere in that little facility. Then you
- 19:05Speaker 2: go to justin time, I think, go to the next game.
- 19:07Speaker 3: I'll tell you that.
- 19:07Speaker 2: I'm like, when does this guy ever slow down? You
- 19:09Speaker 2: never stop?
- 19:11Speaker 3: No, I mean I can't, man, this is what it takes,
- 19:15Speaker 3: this is what it is. This is what I've been doing.
- 19:19Speaker 3: You know, if anybody looks on my page, you can
- 19:22Speaker 3: see that that's this is what I've been doing. But
- 19:25Speaker 3: just now, you know, ever since May, I have a
- 19:29Speaker 3: platform to be able to share it more, which is
- 19:32Speaker 3: Latino Sports. And that's what I feel fortunate for because
- 19:35Speaker 3: I can't think Hector boat Champ enough for seeing something
- 19:38Speaker 3: in me and thinking that I would be a big,
- 19:42Speaker 3: a good part of the team. And that's that's I
- 19:45Speaker 3: can't thank him enough. And now it's not just about me,
- 19:49Speaker 3: it's about the team. It's about having us grow but
- 19:51Speaker 3: also keep helping others grow as well. Like at the
- 19:55Speaker 3: Keith McPherson gathering atle Good Trading the other day, he's
- 20:00Speaker 3: one hundred correct it's let's not compete here, let's collaborate,
- 20:04Speaker 3: let's help each other. We're all doing different things, but
- 20:08Speaker 3: everybody's doing something dope, something very cool. Whether it's photography
- 20:12Speaker 3: or interviews or podcasts, everybody is doing something really cool.
- 20:16Speaker 3: We should just be able to support each other like
- 20:19Speaker 3: share follow it's everybody eats, everybody can do something great,
- 20:26Speaker 3: and it's it's very cool to just support each other
- 20:30Speaker 3: and help each other grow. That's always been my mission,
- 20:34Speaker 3: and now being part of a team, I'm going to
- 20:36Speaker 3: put all my effort into that. And so hey, look,
- 20:40Speaker 3: you gotta be. You got to try to be everywhere
- 20:43Speaker 3: if you can. I sometimes I wish I could just
- 20:45Speaker 3: split myself in two and be two cases at the
- 20:47Speaker 3: same time. It's you can only do whatever is possible.
- 20:51Speaker 3: As in New York City tonight, are you going to
- 20:54Speaker 3: see Lebron's last game in New York?
- 20:56Speaker 2: Possibly?
- 20:57Speaker 3: No? No, I think that was last night he played, Oh,
- 21:00Speaker 3: he played, he plays, And I was actually not at
- 21:04Speaker 3: that game. On Sunday, I was. I was there in
- 21:07Speaker 3: the morning because of a you know, a collaboration that
- 21:10Speaker 3: the Knicks had with Siegaman's stable. I was Oh, yes,
- 21:13Speaker 3: I was able to meet the owner that morning. Uh,
- 21:16Speaker 3: I'm a big fan of that brand, so I was
- 21:18Speaker 3: able to just you know, get a little bit of
- 21:19Speaker 3: merchant stuff before I went to pin Strike. But I mean, hey,
- 21:23Speaker 3: those those ticcret prices were too crazy. But hey, look,
- 21:27Speaker 3: especially with the Knicks right now, great streak that we're on,
- 21:31Speaker 3: we should get number seven. Tonight versus the Wizards tomorrow
- 21:34Speaker 3: is a bigger test. Versus the Nuggets. We're getting hot
- 21:37Speaker 3: at a great time. And the All Star Game, and
- 21:40Speaker 3: about you know what, they beat.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Him with joking a couple of years ago, they could
- 21:43Speaker 2: do it again.
- 21:43Speaker 1: So yeah, And the trade headlines this week, I don't know,
- 21:48Speaker 1: my thoughts are a little out there. You would probably
- 21:50Speaker 1: think if they do get jealous, they're gonna have to
- 21:53Speaker 1: give up a lot of haul.
- 21:53Speaker 3: That we're not getting Johnny's. It's not, it's not you
- 21:57Speaker 3: know what. I can't wait for that trade deadline to
- 22:01Speaker 3: finally just come and go, because then everybody knows that
- 22:07Speaker 3: whoever is still a Nick, this is the team that
- 22:10Speaker 3: we're moving with, moving forward, and now we can finally
- 22:13Speaker 3: look towards going towards March, towards April, hopefully May, hopefully, June.
- 22:19Speaker 3: This is the team that we're locking in with. Let's
- 22:22Speaker 3: go because I understand, I truly this is my opinion. Kat.
- 22:28Speaker 3: Hearing trade talks and stuff like this, it would upset anybody.
- 22:33Speaker 3: He just got here, he thought that he was the guy.
- 22:36Speaker 3: Now hearing that Giannis might come here whatnot, it would
- 22:40Speaker 3: upset anyone. And I think that's what affected him. That's
- 22:43Speaker 3: why I think that the trade deadline comes and goes
- 22:45Speaker 3: and he still has a Nick uniform on. Okay, he's
- 22:49Speaker 3: not going anywhere now, he can just focus on basketball.
- 22:52Speaker 3: Let's go. Jalen og McHale Hart and you at the
- 22:57Speaker 3: Fish come on and shan It and Deuce and co
- 23:02Speaker 3: lickt everybody, let's go. This is the team. Let's go.
- 23:06Speaker 2: Well, you know, it's just about rumors real quick.
- 23:08Speaker 1: I hate when these guys get draged to I remember
- 23:10Speaker 1: last year like Spenger Jones might be traded for Post.
- 23:13Speaker 1: When these guys get dragged into rumors, it does do
- 23:16Speaker 1: something to their mentality.
- 23:18Speaker 2: And I think, of course, I mean, we can't.
- 23:20Speaker 1: Control it, but if media could be a little more responsible,
- 23:22Speaker 1: that'd be nice, you know.
- 23:23Speaker 3: But hey, you can't. You can't control things that are
- 23:27Speaker 3: said and what people talk about and stuff. But hey,
- 23:33Speaker 3: like I said, people are human and it does affect them.
- 23:36Speaker 3: Like you know, thinking that you're going to get moved about.
- 23:39Speaker 1: Wilver Floor is crying at second base or shortstop when
- 23:42Speaker 1: he thought he was traded from the Mets.
- 23:44Speaker 2: I mean that moment. I'll never forget it happens.
- 23:46Speaker 3: I mean, you know, you want to feel wanted, you
- 23:47Speaker 3: want to feel at home. There's things behind the scenes
- 23:51Speaker 3: that we don't see, and but it affects these guys.
- 23:53Speaker 1: By the way, watch out for Trent Grisham. Him wanted
- 23:56Speaker 1: to come back. That proves me he wants to win
- 23:58Speaker 1: with this team. So I'm kind of excited with that.
- 24:00Speaker 1: Let's go, all right, one last thing before I let
- 24:04Speaker 1: you go. Favorite human interest story that you met and
- 24:08Speaker 1: you saw over the weekend that you know you might
- 24:10Speaker 1: drop or share in the next few days.
- 24:12Speaker 2: We haven't already.
- 24:18Speaker 3: There really hasn't been anything like that that this time around.
- 24:22Speaker 3: I mean, hey, never gets old to see os will though,
- 24:25Speaker 3: you know, I mean what he's what he's done, what
- 24:28Speaker 3: he's been doing with the kids and everything. I mean, well, I.
- 24:32Speaker 1: Mean from the fan perspective, like anybody that stood out
- 24:34Speaker 1: to you as a fan at that event because I
- 24:36Speaker 1: mean I read the guy who had that painting. I mean,
- 24:38Speaker 1: that was so cool to see him sign all those
- 24:41Speaker 1: to get that board signed, that was really cool.
- 24:44Speaker 3: I gotta be honest, Alex. You know it's there's not
- 24:47Speaker 3: one that really stood out this year because I was
- 24:51Speaker 3: now on the other side, you know what I'm saying
- 24:53Speaker 3: a little bit more. But you know, an event like
- 24:57Speaker 3: that is always special to me. It's always special to
- 24:59Speaker 3: see you and everybody else in the in the Yankees
- 25:03Speaker 3: content world. You know, it's never gets old, but you
- 25:08Speaker 3: know now it's it's becoming more of a little bit
- 25:11Speaker 3: of just having to put the work in and that's
- 25:14Speaker 3: what we're here to do, and that's what I plan
- 25:17Speaker 3: to do moving forward. All I can say is, you know,
- 25:21Speaker 3: better be following Latino Sports because the content's coming.
- 25:24Speaker 2: That's I can't wait. Well, if there's room on the bus,
- 25:27Speaker 2: I'll go to Cooper, So I'd love to do that.
- 25:29Speaker 3: I'll let you out. You're more than welcome with tickets.
- 25:32Speaker 3: If we have tickets that are going to be going
- 25:33Speaker 3: on sale or anything, You'll be the first to know.
- 25:36Speaker 2: All right. Caleb Baskets NYC Money three to zero one
- 25:38Speaker 2: Underscore by the way, always going to talk with you
- 25:40Speaker 2: on my podcast and just see you around down.
- 25:43Speaker 3: Yes, sir, thank you for having me.
- 25:44Speaker 2: Alex you got it.
