- 0:01Hey. Everybody, welcome to the Good
- 0:03Morning from the Chicken Coop podcast.
- 0:05My name is Kim Johnson and I am a mastermindset, coach, creative
- 0:08strategist, and also happened to be a farmer.
- 0:11This is my Chicken coop and I come out here every day.
- 0:14To record a podcast to. Teach distinctions,
- 0:17possibilities, new ways of thinking, and just bring some
- 0:20joy. Into the.
- 0:21World. So welcome to the coop and let's
- 0:23start your day off in a fantastic way.
- 0:27Hey everybody, good evening from the chicken coop.
- 0:30I'm out here and I'm locking the girls up and I decided to shoot
- 0:34this because I think this is very funny and I want to share
- 0:37it with all of you. But whenever the girls go to bed
- 0:39at night, they have very typically they have very
- 0:42specific seats where they sit. Like I can always tell you that
- 0:45when I come in here at night on the left hand side in the row
- 0:49that's in the back, Amelia is there far.
- 0:52She's there and no one sits next to her.
- 0:54She's like got her own space and she takes it up and nobody goes
- 0:57near her. It's like she owns that space.
- 0:59And all the chickens tend to have the same areas until they
- 1:05don't. And they will stay in the same
- 1:07seat until all of a sudden one person or one, I call them a
- 1:11person. Isn't that funny?
- 1:12One chicken comes in and disrupts the whole thing.
- 1:16So often it's one of the original girls and someone
- 1:20starts the whole process off and it just seems to be that
- 1:24everyone takes up a different residence and they start moving
- 1:27around. And it's interesting because
- 1:29they can come in and they can go left or they can go right.
- 1:32And historically, even tonight, more of them are on the right
- 1:36than on the left. And it's even crazier when all
- 1:40of a sudden they decide to switch sides because it disrupts
- 1:43everything and everybody is arguing.
- 1:46So just before I started this, I was watching the mall trying to
- 1:50figure out their seats and where they want to go and where
- 1:52someone wants to be and who will sit next to who and who likes
- 1:55who. And this really is a thing among
- 1:57chickens. Some of them do not like each
- 1:59other. And if you get next to somebody,
- 2:02IE Marilyn Monroe does not like everybody in here and she will
- 2:06Peck at you. And believe it or not, Celine,
- 2:09who's my French crevocore, one of my OG girls, she is really
- 2:15picky and she does not like everybody and she will
- 2:18definitely go at them. Well, Miss Celine decided to
- 2:21change sides and she went from the left, which she is typically
- 2:25always on the left. Like I never really see her on
- 2:28the right. And tonight she is on the right
- 2:30and she is sitting next to Samantha.
- 2:32And her and Samantha have been hanging out a lot and I think
- 2:34they have become friends. And all of a sudden now nobody,
- 2:39it's like it's disrupted the whole entire thing.
- 2:41And everybody's been arguing and people, you know, they've been
- 2:44like birds have been flying left and right.
- 2:47There's all this personality happening in here and it just
- 2:50makes me think about how we are in our human self where we do
- 2:54the same thing when all of a sudden we disrupt things.
- 2:58And think about how when you were growing up, if you changed
- 3:01your friend group and all of a sudden somebody's upset with you
- 3:04and you're sitting with this person at the lunch table.
- 3:06And how we are just not as different as we think we are
- 3:11from the creatures that live around us and what that
- 3:14disruption does. Now, what's going to be
- 3:15interesting is to watch how this takes place moving forward.
- 3:19So tomorrow morning when they all come out, will they be
- 3:23hanging out together? Will they be doing this tomorrow
- 3:25night? Will they be deciding that this
- 3:27is what's going to happen? And interestingly enough, when
- 3:30we lost Rufus and the other rooster, when Hulk is now, you
- 3:34know, taken over and doing a decent job, we've only lost one
- 3:38since he took over. And he seems to be doing a good
- 3:41job, but different girls are hanging out with him now, and
- 3:45they've maybe decided that he's more appealing and he's braver
- 3:49than they thought. I don't know.
- 3:51It's all very fascinating to me. And it just reminds me of how we
- 3:55are as humans and how little things really, really dig at us
- 3:59as human beings too, and how we get jealous and how we don't
- 4:02want to sit next to somebody. And it's like, oh, I get stuck
- 4:05sitting next to her or I get stuck being near him.
- 4:08And I can think back 100 times in my life where that happened
- 4:12to me or Oh my gosh, I got put in a group with this person or
- 4:15that person when I was in school.
- 4:16And I didn't want to be in a group with with that person.
- 4:19It's endless the number of times this comes up.
- 4:22And it's no different in this world.
- 4:23I know my neighbors have horses and I've heard, you know, my
- 4:27neighbor say to me multiple times, well, those two can't be
- 4:30in the same corral. Same thing with the goats, can't
- 4:33put them near each other. They don't like each other.
- 4:35Same thing in the lizard Kingdom.
- 4:37We've got lizards and those two can't be in the same cage
- 4:40because they'll kill each other. And it's just fascinating to me
- 4:44how that works. Even in the vegetable world, you
- 4:47can't plant certain things next to each other because they can
- 4:50cause problems. They attract bugs that will eat
- 4:53the other ones, or they affect the flavor of things.
- 4:56It's all fascinating. So it's not your imagination if
- 4:59you don't want to be with somebody or sit near somebody.
- 5:01It's a real thing. It's kind of part of the animal
- 5:03Kingdom. And like, we like to think we're
- 5:05superior, but we're not as superior as we think we are.
- 5:09So take that to you into your day and think about it because
- 5:14it humbles you when you really realize that we're not that
- 5:17different than the chickens. All right, my friends, I hope
- 5:19you have a blessed day and I hope you get to sit next to the
- 5:22person you want and I will see you tomorrow.
- 5:24Bye.
