Giraffes Get New Mansion at Hamilton Zoo | Auckland News
Hamilton Zoo’s brand-new Giraffe Manor, a massive 32m x 20m two-story barn with a mezzanine for keeper access, is nearly ready—designed to house current residents Jabali and Kevin and future young male giraffes from breeding programs in Australia and New Zealand. Though the structure’s walls are up, the giraffes’ cautious nature means settling could take weeks or months. This isn’t just a new home—it’s a conservation milestone, helping sustain global breeding efforts while offering unprecedented care and space for these towering animals.
