- 0:07Speaker 2: Well, hey, it's January twentieth, one year anniversary of the
- 0:11Speaker 2: Trump administration. Was one year ago today that he took office,
- 0:15Speaker 2: and in the first year he's done what most presidents
- 0:17Speaker 2: would get done in eight years. Some good, some bad,
- 0:21Speaker 2: Some people love and some it drives them nuts. The
- 0:25Speaker 2: Trump de arrangement syndrome is out there, and as I said,
- 0:28Speaker 2: the Left is now calling it Trump exhaustion syndrome. They
- 0:32Speaker 2: love attacking anything he does, but it's fifty things a day.
- 0:35Speaker 2: It's driving them crazy. Greenland especially. Let me just explain
- 0:39Speaker 2: a couple of things about Greenland. There's no possibility of
- 0:42Speaker 2: any military action there, just a negotiating thing that he does,
- 0:47Speaker 2: and he's getting the left going crazy. He sent a
- 0:50Speaker 2: letter to the Denmark about but he opened with since
- 0:54Speaker 2: I didn't get the Nobel Prize. There's no connection between
- 0:57Speaker 2: Greenland and the Nobel Prize. It's just negotiating. I've watched
- 1:01Speaker 2: him do this for thirty years. That's how you start
- 1:06Speaker 2: a negotiation with him. He hits you with forty seven things.
- 1:10Speaker 2: It's like a million things are coming at you once.
- 1:12Speaker 2: You don't know what to respond to first. It's an
- 1:15Speaker 2: amazing thing to watch. He has different ways of negotiating.
- 1:18Speaker 2: You know, Normally, if you go into a negotiation, at
- 1:23Speaker 2: some point the other side might threaten to sue you.
- 1:27Speaker 2: But if it's Trump, he'll start with the law. He'll
- 1:29Speaker 2: sue you first, then start negotiating. So he like, it's
- 1:32Speaker 2: one negotiating technique he uses. He starts like a def
- 1:35Speaker 2: con one. That way, you're in total panic and he's calm.
- 1:39Speaker 2: He's used to that kind of environment, and it just
- 1:43Speaker 2: screws up the other side. But there's no threat of
- 1:46Speaker 2: military action. That's not going to happen. He'll be at
- 1:48Speaker 2: Davos for two days, three days, and the big thing
- 1:51Speaker 2: at Davos is what they call the sidelines. On the
- 1:53Speaker 2: sidelines they talk and the trip they make deals, so
- 1:56Speaker 2: a lot of that get settled there. Hey. In Iran,
- 2:01Speaker 2: the protests continue. Iranian doctors. Iranian doctors are saying they
- 2:07Speaker 2: believe the death toll is over sixteen thousand protesters between
- 2:14Speaker 2: sixteen thousand and eighteen thousand. Most of the victims killed
- 2:18Speaker 2: believed to be younger than thirty. But this is coming
- 2:22Speaker 2: from doctors at eight major hospitals and sixteen emergency centers. Again,
- 2:27Speaker 2: they believe it's over sixteen thousand protesters killed. Now, why
- 2:32Speaker 2: don't you hear more about this? Well, because they're not
- 2:36Speaker 2: protesting Trump. So if they were protesting Trump, you'd be
- 2:38Speaker 2: hearing about it NonStop, twenty four to seven. If one
- 2:42Speaker 2: of them was even pushed, you'd hear about this. But
- 2:45Speaker 2: sixteen thousand killed, Left couldn't care less, pays no attention
- 2:49Speaker 2: to it now. Apparently, over at CBS News, in an
- 2:53Speaker 2: editorial meeting, the new head who was brought in to
- 2:57Speaker 2: clean it up and try to turn it into an
- 2:59Speaker 2: actual news news organization instead of just a left wing
- 3:03Speaker 2: propaganda site, said that in the editorial meetings, so why
- 3:06Speaker 2: aren't we covering more about Iran, about the protesters. This
- 3:09Speaker 2: is big news, This is a big international development. The
- 3:13Speaker 2: CBS News team doesn't want to spend any time on this.
- 3:15Speaker 2: They don't want to waste time on this when they
- 3:17Speaker 2: can be attacking Trump. And apparently at one point in
- 3:20Speaker 2: the meeting, the new head of CBS actually said, hey,
- 3:23Speaker 2: how about actually covering the news, which they didn't like hearing,
- 3:28Speaker 2: but it's a pretty good idea. Again, expect Don Lemon
- 3:32Speaker 2: and those criminals that entered the church illegally and disrupted
- 3:37Speaker 2: the ceremony. Expect them to most likely get indicted. It's
- 3:43Speaker 2: something Common Justice Department is preparing charges against those protesters,
- 3:48Speaker 2: so expect that to happen soon. Hey, Mikey Cheryl, the
- 3:52Speaker 2: New Jersey governor takes office today. It's not a good
- 3:58Speaker 2: thing for New Jersey. You never thought you'd miss Phil Murphy,
- 4:01Speaker 2: did you? But or as I heard Curtis call him
- 4:04Speaker 2: the half in the bag Phil, half in the bag
- 4:07Speaker 2: Phil Murphy. But Mikey Cheryl vows that you will put
- 4:11Speaker 2: the state on the front lines of anti Trump movement.
- 4:16Speaker 2: I guess, listen, if you live in New Jersey, got
- 4:19Speaker 2: a lot of problems. You got high taxes, you got
- 4:22Speaker 2: corruption everywhere in government, you got all these problems. The
- 4:24Speaker 2: last thing you need is to go to war with
- 4:26Speaker 2: the federal government. But that's what she's proposing. And I
- 4:31Speaker 2: don't know why Cheryl, Mikey Cheryl is not even on
- 4:34Speaker 2: Trump's radar, but she's indicated she's hoping to become a
- 4:38Speaker 2: thorn in his side and make the Garden State a
- 4:41Speaker 2: model for fighting him, which is absolutely totally irresponsible of
- 4:46Speaker 2: a governor. You depend on an administration for federal funding
- 4:50Speaker 2: for all that sort of stuff. Starting a war with
- 4:52Speaker 2: him serves no purpose. But here's Mikey Cheryl.
- 4:55Speaker 3: My message is that the area I represent is responsible
- 5:01Speaker 3: for an incredible amount of innovation for the nation's economy.
- 5:05Speaker 3: And to continue to punish the people of New Jersey, who,
- 5:08Speaker 3: by the way, send seventy billion dollars more in federal
- 5:11Speaker 3: taxes to the government than we receive back, to continue
- 5:15Speaker 3: to attack opportunity, innovation, schools, jobs, cost of living is madness.
- 5:23Speaker 2: Yeah, no, see that's a problem. She said, we send
- 5:26Speaker 2: more money to the federal government than we get back.
- 5:30Speaker 2: That's the cry of the amateur who doesn't know anything
- 5:33Speaker 2: about how any of this works. I mean, remember that
- 5:35Speaker 2: we had have was it a senate candidate here in
- 5:37Speaker 2: New York. That was her whole campaign. We're sending more
- 5:40Speaker 2: money to the federal government than we get back. Now
- 5:44Speaker 2: that's a real idiot. Amateur doesn't understand anything that's good.
- 5:48Speaker 2: That's good, that means you're prospering and doing well, you're
- 5:51Speaker 2: making a ton of money. How much you send to
- 5:53Speaker 2: the federal government is about how much income tax people
- 5:56Speaker 2: have to pay here, which is about how much they earned.
- 6:00Speaker 2: If you're sending a lot of money in the federal
- 6:01Speaker 2: government means you earned a lot of money and it
- 6:03Speaker 2: was great. There are some states that get more money
- 6:07Speaker 2: from the federal government than they send in. Now, how
- 6:10Speaker 2: is that possible? Because in those states people aren't making
- 6:12Speaker 2: any money, their income is extremely low, and many of
- 6:15Speaker 2: them are on welfare. Many of them are getting subsidies
- 6:19Speaker 2: because they're doing so badly. So if you're ever a
- 6:22Speaker 2: state getting more money from the government than you send in,
- 6:25Speaker 2: it means you're a welfare case. It's the worst thing
- 6:28Speaker 2: in the world. But the fact that Mikey Cheryl said
- 6:30Speaker 2: that means she really doesn't understand any of this stuff.
- 6:33Speaker 3: Here's more, And I can guarantee you, after spending a
- 6:37Speaker 3: year and speaking to thousands of people across the state,
- 6:40Speaker 3: that there is not one person in New Jersey that
- 6:42Speaker 3: wakes up in the morning and says, gee, I hope
- 6:43Speaker 3: to day's the day that the president dumps billions of
- 6:47Speaker 3: dollars into buying Greenland while my grocery store costs continue
- 6:51Speaker 3: to go up.
- 6:52Speaker 4: That's a trade.
- 6:53Speaker 3: Nobody wants that trade.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I see, that's another problem. I realize she's just
- 6:56Speaker 2: a crazy Trump derangement syndrome. Person. But ices have been
- 7:00Speaker 2: coming down steadily all year. Ever since Trump took office.
- 7:04Speaker 2: Grocery prices have been coming down. The fact that she
- 7:07Speaker 2: doesn't know that, well, that makes her look a little
- 7:10Speaker 2: out of touch with everything.
- 7:12Speaker 4: I said.
- 7:12Speaker 3: The protesters have been peaceful, but ICE hasn't been there.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Are you see protesters have been peaceful, I don't know.
- 7:20Speaker 2: I mean, they're not shooting anybody, but they're committing crimes
- 7:24Speaker 2: left and right. You're not allowed to drive your car
- 7:27Speaker 2: into the middle of an ICE operation and block the street.
- 7:30Speaker 2: You're not allowed to try to hit an ICE officer
- 7:33Speaker 2: with your car. I wouldn't defend it. I mean, remember
- 7:37Speaker 2: have had Renee Good not been shot, she would be
- 7:40Speaker 2: in prison for the next five to seven years.
- 7:42Speaker 4: I said.
- 7:43Speaker 3: The protesters have been peaceful, but ICE hasn't been. They're
- 7:47Speaker 3: assaulting people on the street. They're busting through windows and cars.
- 7:51Speaker 3: People are driving their kids home from basketball practice getting
- 7:54Speaker 3: tear gassed people.
- 7:56Speaker 2: Yeah, you see again the fact that the government would
- 7:59Speaker 2: a governor just lie like this. Nobody the ICE is
- 8:02Speaker 2: not going up the cars and busting windows. You'd have
- 8:05Speaker 2: to drive into their operation disrupt it. They would then
- 8:09Speaker 2: have to order you to get out of the car.
- 8:11Speaker 2: You'd have to refuse to get out of the car.
- 8:13Speaker 2: You'd have to refuse to comply, you'd have to resist arrest.
- 8:17Speaker 2: If you refuse to get out of there, then they
- 8:19Speaker 2: would bust the window. So she's lying about.
- 8:21Speaker 3: That are getting shot and killed by these out of
- 8:24Speaker 3: control proto military agents. And I think the president's trying.
- 8:29Speaker 2: I don't know what all it means, but it sounded good.
- 8:30Speaker 2: These proto military age, proto military whatever.
- 8:33Speaker 3: The hell that is trying to incite the protesters so
- 8:36Speaker 3: that he can take America's eyes off the fact that
- 8:40Speaker 3: his militia that he's building around this country is actually
- 8:44Speaker 3: attacking American citizens.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Uh, you're laughing at us from Momdani, Now we can
- 8:49Speaker 2: laugh at you. You got this wacko left winger describing
- 8:53Speaker 2: actual federal law enforcement as a militia. I think you're
- 8:58Speaker 2: gonna have more of a problem with this woman and
- 9:00Speaker 2: that we're going to have with Mom. Donnie. Now, the
- 9:04Speaker 2: idea of ICE agents being sent into the cities arresting people,
- 9:08Speaker 2: starting with the criminal illegals. Who would come up with
- 9:12Speaker 2: such a thing, Well, Barack Obama did it all the time.
- 9:16Speaker 2: To the tune of a couple million over his eight years.
- 9:19Speaker 2: Barack Obama did it all the time, exactly the same operations,
- 9:23Speaker 2: exactly the same thing with ice, and he deported them.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Nobody said a word. Why it was a Democrat but
- 9:30Speaker 2: Barack Obama. Actually, Obama could suit Trump for plagiarism. Everything
- 9:34Speaker 2: Trump is doing comes from the Obama administration.
- 9:37Speaker 5: Undocumented workers broke our immigration laws, and I believe that
- 9:41Speaker 5: they must be held accountable, especially those who may be dangerous.
- 9:46Speaker 5: That's why over the past six years, deportations of criminals
- 9:49Speaker 5: are up eighty percent, and that's why we're going to
- 9:53Speaker 5: keep focusing enforcement resources on actual threats to our security.
- 9:57Speaker 2: Yeah, try to name something down Trump has done in
- 10:00Speaker 2: office that Obama or Clinton didn't do or Biden. I
- 10:05Speaker 2: don't think you can do it. I think it's possible.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Everything you hate that he's done, Obama did it, Clinton
- 10:10Speaker 2: did it. Everything he said the Democrats said, he is
- 10:12Speaker 2: Bill Clinton.
- 10:13Speaker 6: All Americans, not only in the states most heavily affected,
- 10:17Speaker 6: but in every place in this country are rightly disturbed
- 10:19Speaker 6: by the large numbers of illegal aliens entering our country.
- 10:25Speaker 6: The jobs they hold might otherwise be held by citizens
- 10:28Speaker 6: or legal immigrants. The public service they use impost burdens
- 10:31Speaker 6: on our taxpayers.
- 10:33Speaker 2: That's why our administration has.
- 10:34Speaker 6: Moved aggressively to secure our borders more by hiring a
- 10:38Speaker 6: record number of new border guards, by deporting twice as
- 10:41Speaker 6: many criminal aliens as ever before.
- 10:45Speaker 2: Just think about this. If John F. Kennedy came back
- 10:48Speaker 2: to life and saw today's Democratic Party, the screaming nutjob,
- 10:54Speaker 2: ridiculous looking women in Minnesota attacking Ice. If John F.
- 10:58Speaker 2: Kennedy came back to life today and his Democratic Party,
- 11:01Speaker 2: he just start to cry. Also, Al Sharpton out picketing
- 11:06Speaker 2: with the nurses. Can you imagine Martin Luther King coming
- 11:09Speaker 2: back to life. Imagine Martin Luther King comes back and
- 11:13Speaker 2: see who's running things now, Al Sharpton.
- 11:16Speaker 7: Martin Luther King died in Memphis fighting for wages for
- 11:22Speaker 7: garbage workers, and I believe he would want those of
- 11:26Speaker 7: us to come in his tradition, to be standing with nurses.
- 11:33Speaker 2: I don't think Martin Luther King if he came back
- 11:36Speaker 2: and saw Al Sharpton flying around those private jets, glombing
- 11:41Speaker 2: money out of corporations, showing up at problems, getting paid
- 11:45Speaker 2: to go away, I don't think Martin Luther King would
- 11:48Speaker 2: be for that. Now you want the strangest story in
- 11:50Speaker 2: the news, try to figure this one out. Jeb Bush
- 11:58Speaker 2: heaping praise on Donald Trump. Jeb Bush heaps praise on
- 12:04Speaker 2: Trump's unprecedented support for Iranians. Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush
- 12:10Speaker 2: credited his former foe President Donald Trump for historic leadership.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Now what the hell is this all about? Now? Nobody
- 12:21Speaker 2: hated the Donald Trump more than the Bushes. And I
- 12:24Speaker 2: don't blame them. I mean, not that they should hate them,
- 12:27Speaker 2: but I can understand why they would hate him. The
- 12:30Speaker 2: Trump campaign began, he knocked out the Hillary Clinton, the
- 12:34Speaker 2: Clinton dynasty, but the Bush dynasty that's been around for
- 12:38Speaker 2: forty years. They thought that Trump, a little amateur Trump,
- 12:42Speaker 2: would have no chance against the Bush dynasty. But he
- 12:46Speaker 2: just wiped out the Bush dynasty, ended the careers of
- 12:49Speaker 2: the Bushes of Jeb Bush. So they had every reason
- 12:52Speaker 2: to be furious bitter. That's why Carl Rove all the
- 12:55Speaker 2: Bushies all hate Trump so much. Why all of a
- 12:57Speaker 2: sudden would Donald Trump get praised by Jeb Bush. Why
- 13:01Speaker 2: would Jeb Bush by be calling Trump a historic leader
- 13:05Speaker 2: buttering him up praising him? What the hell could that
- 13:07Speaker 2: be all about. Well, if I had a guess, the
- 13:10Speaker 2: only time I've run into Jeb Bush over the last
- 13:12Speaker 2: few years since Trump took office, I'd see him. He'd
- 13:16Speaker 2: run into him here in New York, usually in a
- 13:18Speaker 2: restaurant where he would be at a table with a
- 13:20Speaker 2: bunch of very very very top level business guys with bushy.
- 13:25Speaker 2: Bush would come to New York be meeting with these
- 13:28Speaker 2: top top business guys who want to do something and
- 13:31Speaker 2: energy and oil and business. So I would assume he's
- 13:37Speaker 2: a kind of lobbying for them. Why would they bring
- 13:40Speaker 2: Bush in. Jeb Bush not exactly the greatest business brain
- 13:43Speaker 2: in America, but if he convinced him he could get
- 13:46Speaker 2: things done for them, There's a lot of money. There's
- 13:49Speaker 2: millions and millions and millions in lobbying fees, and yeah,
- 13:54Speaker 2: even the Bushes need to make some money, need to
- 13:56Speaker 2: earn some money. So I would think Jeb maybe all
- 14:01Speaker 2: that business dried up. He's trying to get back in
- 14:03Speaker 2: good graces of Trump, maybe even show up in the
- 14:05Speaker 2: White House, have a picture or two of Trump, and
- 14:08Speaker 2: then all these big business guys will start meeting with
- 14:10Speaker 2: them even more, paying them even more. To lobby on
- 14:13Speaker 2: their behalf. Hey, a great thing happened in Palm Beach
- 14:18Speaker 2: over the weekend. They decided to rename the street, the
- 14:21Speaker 2: one that leads to the airport. It's a stretch of
- 14:25Speaker 2: Southern Boulevard from the airport. Tomorrow a lago, they're going
- 14:29Speaker 2: to rename it and put up the street signs President
- 14:33Speaker 2: Donald J. Trump Boulevard, President Donald J. Trump Boulevard. This
- 14:40Speaker 2: is very important because it will make many of the
- 14:44Speaker 2: remaining liberals left wingers that live in Palm Beach absolutely
- 14:48Speaker 2: nuts every time they drive down the street to have
- 14:52Speaker 2: to see those signs. I can think of a couple
- 14:54Speaker 2: I know a few people that are the biggest Trump
- 14:57Speaker 2: paters on Earth. They live on Palm Beach and they're
- 14:59Speaker 2: always going to the air and they have to drive
- 15:02Speaker 2: down that road. So every time they drive down there,
- 15:04Speaker 2: they'll see President Donald J. Trump Boulevard. Now, a couple
- 15:09Speaker 2: of them that I know live in one of those
- 15:11Speaker 2: Trump buildings. Uh. Trump built three beautiful high rise apartment
- 15:15Speaker 2: buildings on the inner coastal many many years ago. It's
- 15:19Speaker 2: called the Trump Palm Beach or something. A couple of
- 15:22Speaker 2: them living there that I know, the biggest Trumpeter, what
- 15:24Speaker 2: do they do well? They had the name removed from
- 15:26Speaker 2: the building. They feel better now, but they won't be
- 15:29Speaker 2: able to remove these street signs. They're going to be
- 15:31Speaker 2: there for years. Hey, we'll take some calls. We'll do that.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Next eight hundred three to two one zero seven ten
- 15:38Speaker 2: is the number. Eight hundred three to two one zero
- 15:41Speaker 2: seven ten. Get Mark on demand by setting a preset
- 15:46Speaker 2: for his podcast on the iHeartRadio app.
- 15:49Speaker 8: Now back to Mark Simon onor.
- 15:52Speaker 2: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to Tim in
- 15:55Speaker 2: Saint Louis. Tim, how you doing?
- 15:58Speaker 8: Hey, Mark? So good? Glad they have your Hey, look,
- 16:00Speaker 8: gott I ask you question. Next time you go on vacation,
- 16:04Speaker 8: is it possible you could possibly maybe bring on Rachel
- 16:07Speaker 8: Maddow or Don Lemon the guest host instead of Curtis Man.
- 16:11Speaker 8: Curtis's TDS was running rampant.
- 16:14Speaker 2: He does, I don't I heard some of it. He
- 16:16Speaker 2: doesn't agree with the Trump on Greenland. But that's okay.
- 16:20Speaker 8: I tell you what though the band thing he did was,
- 16:23Speaker 8: you know, don't he talks to any Trump supporters of
- 16:26Speaker 8: drank the kool aid? You know, it's one thing in
- 16:28Speaker 8: your opinion and I don't agree, but the thing is
- 16:31Speaker 8: when you.
- 16:32Speaker 2: But Curtis got a lot of great stuff to talk about,
- 16:34Speaker 2: all kinds of things. You know. Ed Cotch used to
- 16:36Speaker 2: have a rule, and he used to say, if you
- 16:38Speaker 2: agree with me on nine out of twelve things, vote
- 16:41Speaker 2: for me. If you agree on twelve out of twelve,
- 16:43Speaker 2: see a psychiatrist. You're not going to agree with him
- 16:45Speaker 2: on everything. This stuff with me you won't agree on.
- 16:48Speaker 8: I could see why Vincent doesn't call in because he
- 16:51Speaker 8: must know more.
- 16:52Speaker 2: I have a feeling something happened way back when with
- 16:55Speaker 2: what's going on? What do you do in Saint Louis?
- 16:58Speaker 8: Freezing my butt off?
- 16:59Speaker 2: Really?
- 17:01Speaker 8: Damn Cole Derek.
- 17:02Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure, it's.
- 17:03Speaker 2: Not warmer in Saint Louis.
- 17:04Speaker 8: You're not a little further really not really so But anyway,
- 17:07Speaker 8: great show, lack and I just really got turned off.
- 17:10Speaker 2: But oh, calm down, it's not that bad bad.
- 17:14Speaker 8: I was just warner, but just me, or if you're
- 17:16Speaker 8: hearing anybody else.
- 17:17Speaker 2: Oh, I'm sure some people didn't like the criticism of Trump,
- 17:19Speaker 2: but that was like five minutes out of two hours.
- 17:21Speaker 2: I'm sure Curtis, even me, you'll find things you don't
- 17:25Speaker 2: agree with me on, but you can't judge by one thing.
- 17:29Speaker 2: Let's go to Randall in Maryland. Randall, how you doing.
- 17:33Speaker 1: Oh Mark, have you heard about this basket? The college
- 17:37Speaker 1: basketball scandal?
- 17:38Speaker 2: Yeah, these are these students on the team, and there
- 17:43Speaker 2: were bad teams. They got paid like ten thousand each
- 17:46Speaker 2: to lose the game. Make it even worse than people
- 17:48Speaker 2: thought it would be, right.
- 17:52Speaker 1: The same old story. But I have yet to hear
- 17:54Speaker 1: any names of colleges or players.
- 17:57Speaker 2: Yeah, but I thought it was pretty good on their part.
- 17:59Speaker 2: I mean, good for them showing innovation. They make ten
- 18:01Speaker 2: thousand a game, these students. You don't think it was good. Well,
- 18:04Speaker 2: it's a losing team. They're expected to lose by twenty points.
- 18:08Speaker 2: But these bookmakers want to have them be so bad
- 18:11Speaker 2: that they lose by forty points and would help the
- 18:14Speaker 2: book makers. But hey, if you stink at basketball, why
- 18:17Speaker 2: don't get paid ten thousand a game? It's a all right?
- 18:21Speaker 2: You don't agree with me, Well it's not being covered.
- 18:25Speaker 1: I don't who are they and who is being charged?
- 18:28Speaker 2: Well, how do you know about it if it's not
- 18:30Speaker 2: being covered.
- 18:31Speaker 1: Well, I heard about that it's being covered.
- 18:34Speaker 2: Well, just google it, it'll come up. It's not a
- 18:36Speaker 2: big story where they'd be right in the front page.
- 18:38Speaker 2: But google it'll, it'll come up. Are you a gambler?
- 18:40Speaker 2: Do you bet on the games?
- 18:43Speaker 1: I don't bet on games, but I do gamble.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that's what I thought. You see, I don't gamble,
- 18:48Speaker 2: I don't bet on games.
- 18:49Speaker 1: I don't care if they do it.
- 18:50Speaker 2: But yeah, so that's what I thought. Well, google it, it'll,
- 18:55Speaker 2: it'll come up. Hey if I was in college. When
- 18:57Speaker 2: I was in college, I didn't play back. But if
- 19:00Speaker 2: somebody offered me ten thousand a game to be even worse, hey,
- 19:04Speaker 2: I'd take it. Why not. Let's go to phil and
- 19:07Speaker 2: Long Island, Phil. How you doing?
- 19:09Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 19:10Speaker 9: Hello, Mark, getting back to the faud in Minneapolis, which
- 19:16Speaker 9: you have Waltz and everybody's trying to hide up by
- 19:19Speaker 9: putting up this insurrection thing. But I've heard that Mayor
- 19:23Speaker 9: fries White.
- 19:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I know you're going to find out everybody profited. Hey,
- 19:31Speaker 2: I hate to break it to you that you vote
- 19:33Speaker 2: for these socialists. One thing that happens when you get
- 19:37Speaker 2: a socialist, they make a fortune and everything gets worse
- 19:42Speaker 2: for you. The socialist always makes a fortune. Who's the
- 19:46Speaker 2: biggest socialist in government. Bernie Sanders, how many homes does
- 19:51Speaker 2: he have now? Four homes, four big mansions. He's doing
- 19:56Speaker 2: very very well. He and his wife made millions and
- 19:59Speaker 2: millions millions on these campaigns. Bill Deblasio and his wife.
- 20:04Speaker 2: Remember they started that program Thrive NYC. One billion dollars
- 20:10Speaker 2: went missing. This happens all the time, this daycare fraud
- 20:15Speaker 2: thing in Minnesota. It looks like they're now estimating nineteen
- 20:18Speaker 2: or twenty billion, not million. Nineteen billion was robbed. You're
- 20:25Speaker 2: going to find a lot of that money went into
- 20:27Speaker 2: a lot of public officials pockets. It happens all the time.
- 20:30Speaker 2: Watch for it to happen with mom, Donnie. That's why
- 20:33Speaker 2: he's talking about a billion dollar program to do this,
- 20:35Speaker 2: a billion dollar program to do that. There's skimming and
- 20:40Speaker 2: money going sideways on those programs that socialists always end
- 20:44Speaker 2: up wealthy. Well, the people who have voted for them
- 20:47Speaker 2: end up even in worst shape after socialism. Hey, when
- 20:51Speaker 2: we come back, the brilliant columnist Liz Peak will be
- 20:54Speaker 2: with us next and we'll talk to her in a
- 20:56Speaker 2: moment on seven to ten, WR.
- 20:59Speaker 9: Mister new your more so.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Well, the brilliant columnist Liz Peak and of course you
- 21:06Speaker 2: see her all over television. But you know, besides the columns,
- 21:09Speaker 2: you should also go to her site, lizpeak dot com.
- 21:13Speaker 2: Every day the best news and analysis. And when you
- 21:16Speaker 2: go to lizpeak dot com, sign up for the daily newsletter.
- 21:20Speaker 2: The news will come to you every day. Rite free.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Write to your email lizpeak dot com Lizpeak.
- 21:25Speaker 4: How you doing, I'm terrific. Thank you. Lots going on, Mark, Hey.
- 21:29Speaker 2: It's one year today. The inauguration of Donald Trump was
- 21:33Speaker 2: one year ago. First year today. What do you think
- 21:36Speaker 2: is that? Have you ever seen anything as busy as
- 21:38Speaker 2: this first year?
- 21:40Speaker 10: No, I to say that the president has been a
- 21:43Speaker 10: bold and energetic leader, I think vastly understates the accomplishments that.
- 21:48Speaker 4: He has rolled up in his first year.
- 21:51Speaker 10: I mean, it's really pretty unbelievably remarkable. All the while,
- 21:55Speaker 10: remember seeing the press on a daily basis handling own,
- 22:00Speaker 10: you know, handling interviews and conversations with let's face it.
- 22:06Speaker 4: Mostly hostile press.
- 22:08Speaker 10: But I actually wrote a column about it today and
- 22:13Speaker 10: just here's just a sampling of what he's accomplished. So
- 22:17Speaker 10: we boosted the recruitment for our military, dismantled DEI and
- 22:23Speaker 10: a lot of the climate agenda, pushed NATO to up
- 22:27Speaker 10: their spending for their own defense, tossed overboard a lot
- 22:30Speaker 10: of regulations that Joe Biden put in place that really
- 22:33Speaker 10: slowed down our country's progress, challenged our woke universities in
- 22:38Speaker 10: a very constructive way, got rid of Nicola Maduro, the
- 22:43Speaker 10: head of Venezuela, defended women's sports, significantly derailed Arand's nuclear program,
- 22:50Speaker 10: oversaw a whole bunch of health initiatives from RFK Junior,
- 22:53Speaker 10: like getting rid of artificial food dies, shrunk the bureaucracy,
- 22:57Speaker 10: which I think is unbelievably important federal bureaucracy, and pushed
- 23:02Speaker 10: through a massive reconciliation bill that lowered taxes, and that
- 23:07Speaker 10: was basically, had it not passed, you were going to
- 23:10Speaker 10: have this major tax cliff at the end of last year.
- 23:14Speaker 10: So that's just some of it, by no means an
- 23:16Speaker 10: exhaustive list. But honestly, Mark, who has ever accomplished all
- 23:20Speaker 10: that much in the first year.
- 23:22Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Yeah, we tried this earlier for millions of years. They
- 23:25Speaker 2: always wanted to get some of the great CEOs in
- 23:28Speaker 2: the private sector. Maybe you know, maybe they could be
- 23:30Speaker 2: a president. You know, Jack welcher LEI koca. Well, we
- 23:34Speaker 2: finally got a CEO from the private sector, and unlike
- 23:37Speaker 2: a normal president, it does a couple of things a year.
- 23:39Speaker 2: As a committee of me. This guy goes a mile
- 23:42Speaker 2: a minute, tries to get fifty things done a day
- 23:44Speaker 2: like most great CEOs. But is that a good mix
- 23:47Speaker 2: with government or will we ever do it again?
- 23:50Speaker 6: Well?
- 23:51Speaker 10: I hope so, because, as you say, the default is
- 23:55Speaker 10: a career politician like Joe Biden, whose idea about tackling
- 23:59Speaker 10: a prop is to convene a lot of people and talk, talk, talk,
- 24:03Speaker 10: and then pass the buck to Congress, which convenes a
- 24:06Speaker 10: conference and a study group and talks, talks, talks, and
- 24:10Speaker 10: basically ends up doing nothing. I mean, I actually think
- 24:13Speaker 10: that's a fair indictment of the way our system works.
- 24:16Speaker 10: There's far too little accountability. I am not happy with
- 24:21Speaker 10: some of the things that Trump has done recently, but
- 24:23Speaker 10: you got to say the guy is accountable. I mean,
- 24:25Speaker 10: he's out there every day confronting his critics. The stock
- 24:30Speaker 10: market and other measures, polling and stuff will weigh whether
- 24:34Speaker 10: he's doing a good job or a bad job.
- 24:36Speaker 4: But the reality is he's taking risks.
- 24:39Speaker 10: Excuse me, and he's getting things done and he's not finished.
- 24:44Speaker 2: Pat Now, Minnesota, you got videos showing these protesters just
- 24:47Speaker 2: the most awful behavior ever. Once in a while you
- 24:50Speaker 2: see a video where the ICE maybe got the wrong guy.
- 24:54Speaker 2: But what do you think in the end this is
- 24:55Speaker 2: going to do for the midterms?
- 24:58Speaker 4: Well, I do want to see de escalation.
- 25:01Speaker 10: I mean the idea that Governor Walls is now calling
- 25:05Speaker 10: in the National Guard and the Trump is threatening to
- 25:10Speaker 10: call in troops. I mean, what are we gonna have
- 25:12Speaker 10: a war in Minneapolis with these elements fighting each other.
- 25:15Speaker 4: That's not tenable. It's not going to happen.
- 25:18Speaker 10: But somehow, Frankly, you know what, I think you should
- 25:22Speaker 10: just say to the people of Minnesota. Okay, you're governor
- 25:26Speaker 10: and you mayor fry of Minneapolis really don't want ICE
- 25:30Speaker 10: getting the violent criminals out of these communities, mostly Somali
- 25:34Speaker 10: criminals in those state, in that state. So we're just
- 25:38Speaker 10: going to leave you to it. We're going to have
- 25:40Speaker 10: a ring around your state. I'm serious. If you don't
- 25:43Speaker 10: want you got them, you got them. We're going to
- 25:45Speaker 10: make sure they don't go any place else because a
- 25:48Speaker 10: lot of them are just really horrible people. Child molesters
- 25:51Speaker 10: and rapists and murderers. But if you're happy to have
- 25:54Speaker 10: them here, we leave you to it and see what happens.
- 25:58Speaker 10: I think I don't think people in Minnesota would be
- 26:01Speaker 10: very excited about that, and I think that might end up,
- 26:05Speaker 10: you know, having local law enforcement kind of do a
- 26:08Speaker 10: pivot and say, well, wait a minute, that's not what
- 26:11Speaker 10: we had in mind.
- 26:12Speaker 4: So maybe it would work.
- 26:14Speaker 2: I like that President should announce Minnesota is now a
- 26:17Speaker 2: safe space. We ice will not enter Minnesota every illegal
- 26:22Speaker 2: Just go there and you'll be safe. Let them all,
- 26:24Speaker 2: all of them go there.
- 26:25Speaker 1: Perfect.
- 26:26Speaker 8: Now.
- 26:27Speaker 2: Hey, I'm listening to this new governor of New Jersey
- 26:29Speaker 2: and she's stuck about the focus on Greenland. When people
- 26:32Speaker 2: are struggling to pay for groceries and the prices of
- 26:35Speaker 2: groceries are going way up. Well, that's not true at all.
- 26:37Speaker 2: The price has been coming down all year, haven't they.
- 26:40Speaker 10: Well, in the rate of inflation is certainly down from
- 26:43Speaker 10: the nine point one percent that it reached under Joe Biden.
- 26:47Speaker 10: But unfortunately, because of several years of Bidenomics and high inflation,
- 26:51Speaker 10: price is escalated and they don't easily come down. Some
- 26:54Speaker 10: things have come down, like gasoline, which is a very
- 26:58Speaker 10: big deal for Americans. Definitely cheaper than it was a
- 27:01Speaker 10: year ago or two years ago. Price of eggs, which
- 27:04Speaker 10: was a big crisis you know, early in the year,
- 27:07Speaker 10: early last year, has come down. But look, I mean, unfortunately,
- 27:13Speaker 10: it's very difficult to get prices to come down. But
- 27:16Speaker 10: mark what's more important than the price level of cereal.
- 27:20Speaker 10: And by the way, that's one of the big things
- 27:22Speaker 10: that's going up in price right now is things like
- 27:25Speaker 10: those processed foods from the big companies.
- 27:29Speaker 4: Is wages.
- 27:30Speaker 10: Real wages are going up under President Trump, and they
- 27:33Speaker 10: didn't under Joe Biden. So you have American consumers better off.
- 27:39Speaker 10: I know that the polling shows people unhappy with the economy.
- 27:42Speaker 4: I think there are two elements there.
- 27:44Speaker 10: One, yeah, you go to the grocery store, you think,
- 27:46Speaker 10: holy crow, when did that become ten dollars? But then
- 27:50Speaker 10: the other thing I think is that there is this
- 27:52Speaker 10: underlying anxiety about AI and about what it means for
- 27:55Speaker 10: the jobs market. Anxieties, which I will hasten to add
- 28:00Speaker 10: are always magnified by a hostile press, as are the
- 28:04Speaker 10: price concerns that people are voicing. I mean, really, if
- 28:08Speaker 10: you read the Financial news. You just have to take
- 28:11Speaker 10: a step back every single day and say, Okay, you
- 28:13Speaker 10: know what, this is not a fair representation. When did
- 28:16Speaker 10: you see, by the way, as an example, the media
- 28:21Speaker 10: big headlines about the growth rates that we've seen in
- 28:24Speaker 10: the last couple of quarters. You don't see that because
- 28:26Speaker 10: that's favorable to President Trump, so they're not going to
- 28:29Speaker 10: talk about that. When did you see about the big
- 28:32Speaker 10: investment boom or productivity and gains in our country? Those
- 28:35Speaker 10: are extremely important financial matrix, and yet the media some
- 28:40Speaker 10: ignores them and would rather focus on.
- 28:44Speaker 4: Issues that are important for sure, like.
- 28:47Speaker 10: Affordability, because that's a Democrat favorable issue. Right now, let's
- 28:51Speaker 10: talk about housing though, if you will. There's a number
- 28:56Speaker 10: of indicies that measure housing affordability.
- 28:59Speaker 4: They are improving. Have you seen that headline lately? No,
- 29:03Speaker 4: you haven't.
- 29:03Speaker 10: Mortgages lately have come down significantly. The President clearly is
- 29:08Speaker 10: pushing for even more reductions. So some things are getting better.
- 29:12Speaker 10: But the combination of lower taxes, less regulation, high growth,
- 29:17Speaker 10: and incomes improving means that every time we have a
- 29:21Speaker 10: read on consumers, such as just in the recent days,
- 29:26Speaker 10: the holiday sales number, retail sales turns out Haha. Guess
- 29:30Speaker 10: what better than expected because the expectations constantly are so
- 29:35Speaker 10: beaten down by again a hostile press. And I don't
- 29:38Speaker 10: mean to blame everything on the press. I think the
- 29:40Speaker 10: Republicans done an absolutely appalling job at selling the big
- 29:46Speaker 10: tax bill. Democrats are out there saying, oh, it only
- 29:49Speaker 10: favors the wealthy. That is just patently not true. But
- 29:53Speaker 10: Republicans never talked it up because I think they were
- 29:57Speaker 10: just scared. I don't know, honestly, I'm kind of pretty
- 30:02Speaker 10: worked up about the Republican's lame efforts on messaging and
- 30:06Speaker 10: a number of other fronts. But the answer is, it's
- 30:10Speaker 10: a pretty good bill, and I think people see their
- 30:13Speaker 10: tax refunds are up substantially and they begin to look
- 30:16Speaker 10: at their take on pay, they're going to be pretty
- 30:18Speaker 10: happy with it.
- 30:19Speaker 1: Well.
- 30:19Speaker 2: Well, great points, Liz Peak. Thanks for being with us.

- 31:09Speaker 2: there for a couple of days. Again, it's not, as
- 31:13Speaker 2: we said in the earlier in the program, it's not
- 31:14Speaker 2: the same Davos that you've known all these years. It's
- 31:16Speaker 2: not the left wing crazy climate change. The guy that
- 31:20Speaker 2: ran it is gone. It's a whole new Davos Now.
- 31:23Speaker 2: It'll be more about business and dialogue, as they say,
- 31:29Speaker 2: which means are wheeling and dealing. But the left wing
- 31:31Speaker 2: kook stuff is all gone from Davos this year. It's
- 31:34Speaker 2: gonna be a whole different place. Hey, if you haven't
- 31:37Speaker 2: seen it, make sure you watch the Frank Sinatra documentary.
- 31:40Speaker 2: It's on Fox Nation, twentieth Century Fox Fox. Their streaming
- 31:46Speaker 2: service is Fox Nation. That's there's streaming. It's a lot
- 31:48Speaker 2: of good stuff on there, but there's this new Sinatra documentary.
- 31:51Speaker 2: It is excellent, highly recommended. Make sure you see it.
