- 0:12Speaker 1: Hey, Phillies reliever Brad Keller joining us right now on FT. Brad,
- 0:16Speaker 1: Great to have you on, man. How's the season going
- 0:18Speaker 1: for you?
- 0:19Speaker 2: Yeah, thanks for having me. It's going good.
- 0:21Speaker 3: You know.
- 0:21Speaker 4: We we're playing some pretty good ball right now and
- 0:23Speaker 4: excited for this three game match up up here in Toronto.
- 0:27Speaker 3: Are you enjoying.
- 0:29Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm enjoying it.
- 0:33Speaker 2: It's fun.
- 0:33Speaker 4: It's uh, it's it's always fun to pitch in front of,
- 0:36Speaker 4: you know, forty thousand people every time, no matter if
- 0:38Speaker 4: it's a Monday or Sunday. It's a great place to play.
- 0:40Speaker 4: And the you know, our team, it's you know, it's
- 0:43Speaker 4: it's a lot of fun in there. These guys have
- 0:44Speaker 4: been together for a long time, so it's a lot
- 0:46Speaker 4: of fun just kind of coming there and and just
- 0:47Speaker 4: jee right along with them.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Drip.
- 0:51Speaker 5: We were talking earlier today about fan interaction. Randiya Rose
- 0:55Speaker 5: Arena had a nice little message to a fan that
- 0:57Speaker 5: was chirping him in the stands, and uh, you've now
- 1:00Speaker 5: been in Phiry long enough you had you had any
- 1:02Speaker 5: any fun interactions with anybody? What's the what's the best
- 1:05Speaker 5: little jab that you've gotten from from one of your
- 1:07Speaker 5: own fans.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Honestly, I haven't heard too much.
- 1:11Speaker 4: I think, you know, down there in the bullpen, I
- 1:14Speaker 4: think the fans are fairly focused on the other team.
- 1:16Speaker 4: I mean, it's been fun to hear those guys chirp
- 1:18Speaker 4: up those guys up there, And it's various from all
- 1:22Speaker 4: ages too, Like they you got little kids up there
- 1:24Speaker 4: chirping of these guys.
- 1:25Speaker 2: We got grown men up there.
- 1:27Speaker 4: Uh, it's it's funny, it's it's you know, every everyone
- 1:30Speaker 4: you know gets a.
- 1:30Speaker 2: Good laugh out of it. But you know, we we appreciate.
- 1:33Speaker 4: You know, obviously it's better for them to be on
- 1:36Speaker 4: them and then instead of us, because sometimes it can
- 1:38Speaker 4: be you know, pretty harsh up there.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Brad, what's the craziest thing you've heard from a kid?
- 1:46Speaker 1: I mean, obviously keep it clean on TV, but how
- 1:50Speaker 1: creative do the kids get. I'm sure you know, the
- 1:52Speaker 1: dad's or somebody's feeding them line sometimes because it sounds
- 1:55Speaker 1: funny you're coming from a kid.
- 1:57Speaker 4: Yeah, I think, uh, the big the big fad right
- 2:00Speaker 4: now is the U bum one going on. It's just
- 2:03Speaker 4: like kids kind of come up with some stuff that
- 2:05Speaker 4: they think is hilarious. I don't really recalling you that
- 2:09Speaker 4: don't have cuss words in them, but they just like
- 2:13Speaker 4: they go at them pretty hard and then they drop
- 2:15Speaker 4: the U bumb and it, you know, get a good
- 2:17Speaker 4: little chuckle out of things. But the most recent it's
- 2:22Speaker 4: so funny because like we'll be warming up and they
- 2:25Speaker 4: think that we can just turn around, like every ball
- 2:27Speaker 4: we get throw right to them. It's like we're about
- 2:29Speaker 4: to go in the game and we're trying to you know,
- 2:30Speaker 4: get ready for that. So they just sit there and
- 2:32Speaker 4: hound us while we're warming up. I don't know how
- 2:34Speaker 4: they can even breathe afterwards because they just screamed ball
- 2:37Speaker 4: the whole time. And the other day our bullpen coach
- 2:43Speaker 4: turned around is like, where's your dad? And this kids
- 2:46Speaker 4: like kind of locked up, and he's like, do you
- 2:48Speaker 4: want me to tell your dad what you just said?
- 2:49Speaker 4: And this kid shut down right away, and it was
- 2:51Speaker 4: so funny. But it's always fun just like you said,
- 2:56Speaker 4: could come from a kid that you wouldn't expect to
- 2:58Speaker 4: say some things.
- 2:58Speaker 2: It's just it's great, Brad.
- 3:02Speaker 6: But I mean, in Philly, you guys got it easy.
- 3:03Speaker 6: You guys aren't in the top bullpen. I mean you
- 3:06Speaker 6: went there way worse as a visitor they hide you guys.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Now in Philly.
- 3:11Speaker 6: They want to make sure that the bullpen for Philly
- 3:13Speaker 6: is taking care of They don't want them to sit
- 3:16Speaker 6: up there. There's too many mean fans in Philadelphia.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I think last year.
- 3:21Speaker 4: Last year is my first time there, and it was
- 3:23Speaker 4: they built the you know, the glass and stuff. So,
- 3:27Speaker 4: you know, talking to some of the guys that've been
- 3:28Speaker 4: there before, they're like, this is kind of a lifesaver
- 3:30Speaker 4: being on that top bullpen, but you have that glass
- 3:32Speaker 4: that kind of protects you from from fans. But I
- 3:34Speaker 4: wound up there twice last year, you know, coming in
- 3:38Speaker 4: in some some pretty good situations, and they let me
- 3:41Speaker 4: have it, and it was it was all fun. It
- 3:43Speaker 4: was just like I mean, they there's some craziest things
- 3:47Speaker 4: to van say, even when you're just out there stretching
- 3:48Speaker 4: and stuff, and just that's what's so fun to us,
- 3:51Speaker 4: Like we hear it because it's like some of us
- 3:52Speaker 4: have been on the other side and heard it.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Now it's like, you know, at least everyone else is
- 3:57Speaker 2: getting it too. You know.
- 4:00Speaker 5: One of the coolest things about the bullpen in Philly,
- 4:03Speaker 5: besides the fact that you're in it obviously, is the
- 4:07Speaker 5: Durantula intro video. Right, it's pretty hype. But he was
- 4:12Speaker 5: on the shelf for a couple of weeks and you
- 4:14Speaker 5: stepped in as the closer during that time. Did you
- 4:17Speaker 5: get Did you get a nice little hype video for
- 4:19Speaker 5: those couple of weeks.
- 4:21Speaker 4: I do not think I did. I didn't turn around, look,
- 4:24Speaker 4: but I did not. I don't think I did. Everyone's
- 4:27Speaker 4: asking me if, like they're going to go the lights
- 4:29Speaker 4: out or whatever, and I was like, I really hope
- 4:30Speaker 4: not that that's safe for that's that's something special, that's
- 4:33Speaker 4: safe for him. I mean, he's It's probably one of
- 4:36Speaker 4: the coolest entrances. I remember watching it when it was
- 4:38Speaker 4: in you know, Minnesota, and then I think it's even
- 4:41Speaker 4: more hype now in Philly.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Need to get your one, Yeah, I agree, I agree.
- 4:56Speaker 4: I think only the clo Yeah, I think that's safe
- 4:59Speaker 4: for that, just because like we can pitch in any situations, right,
- 5:03Speaker 4: like the closers that's special. Get in the last three
- 5:05Speaker 4: out of every game is special, and you want you
- 5:07Speaker 4: want them to have their moment and their entrances and
- 5:09Speaker 4: get them as hype and locked in as possible.
- 5:16Speaker 7: My dog Bella would do anything for a treat, and

- 6:13Speaker 5: I just have one suggestion for it, because when we
- 6:18Speaker 5: were teammates, your nickname was Killer and durand is Durantula
- 6:22Speaker 5: the Killer Durantela would be just nickname.
- 6:27Speaker 8: Cool studios, Brad, we can do that.
- 6:31Speaker 4: I mean, I'm not post, but I do think closers
- 6:35Speaker 4: closers got it?
- 6:38Speaker 3: Hey, good, let's got you got a j bro.
- 6:45Speaker 6: Now that you're in Philly, you've been there established, We
- 6:47Speaker 6: talked to you in spring training. What is Philly like?
- 6:51Speaker 6: Tell me you played in Kansas City, you played in Chicago.
- 6:54Speaker 6: Now you're in Philly. Tell me the difference about Philly
- 6:57Speaker 6: the fans is at the ballpark? Is it the team?
- 7:00Speaker 6: What's the Philadelphia experience like?
- 7:04Speaker 4: I mean, I think it's I think it's everything. You know,
- 7:05Speaker 4: I think all three things you just said. I think
- 7:08Speaker 4: the team first and foremost. Like like I said before this,
- 7:10Speaker 4: this group's been together for a long time. They've been
- 7:12Speaker 4: in the playoffs, they've been you know, to the World Series.
- 7:14Speaker 4: A lot of these guys just you know, they're really
- 7:17Speaker 4: close off the field, and that makes us even closer
- 7:19Speaker 4: on the field. And so coming into spring training and
- 7:22Speaker 4: you know, I didn't really know what to expect. It
- 7:23Speaker 4: can be, you know, an intimidating, intimidating locker room. Just
- 7:27Speaker 4: looking at the room, there's just you know, studs all
- 7:29Speaker 4: over the place, you know, throughout our rotation, throughout our lineup,
- 7:31Speaker 4: throughout a both bend. Like it's just it's a it's
- 7:33Speaker 4: a you know, very veteran heavy team and so and
- 7:38Speaker 4: I think that's what makes it, you know, so fun.
- 7:40Speaker 4: Everyone goes about their business, everyone knows what they got
- 7:42Speaker 4: to do day in and day out to get the
- 7:44Speaker 4: job done. And you know, it's at times when I
- 7:48Speaker 4: was with Kansas City, we were really young, and it
- 7:50Speaker 4: seemed like.
- 7:50Speaker 2: We were we have to do a lot more just
- 7:53Speaker 2: to because just to like you know, perform on the field.
- 7:56Speaker 4: And I feel like that's part of the stepping stone
- 7:59Speaker 4: into you know, getting your feet underneath you in the
- 8:01Speaker 4: big leagues. You got to kind of find your your
- 8:03Speaker 4: way through your routine and through all the extra work
- 8:05Speaker 4: and early work and all that stuff.
- 8:07Speaker 2: So these guys have already done that, and so they
- 8:10Speaker 2: already know what works for.
- 8:11Speaker 4: Them and you know, just come in and it's just
- 8:13Speaker 4: like hey, you know, coaching staff, super laid back, super chill,
- 8:16Speaker 4: and they're like, you know, do what you need to
- 8:19Speaker 4: do in order to be prepared for you know, your
- 8:22Speaker 4: job tonight. And that's you know to you know, get
- 8:24Speaker 4: three outs whenever we call upon you. And so yeah,
- 8:28Speaker 4: it's it's awesome. It's a completely different experience. So it's
- 8:31Speaker 4: my favorite thing is you know, massive golf team. I'm
- 8:35Speaker 4: all about that too. So we got we got a
- 8:36Speaker 4: little putting that in the clubhouse. We got we even
- 8:39Speaker 4: got a basketball hoop in the clubhouse. Everyone just keeps
- 8:41Speaker 4: it super light and super fun. So we know that
- 8:43Speaker 4: the you know, the expectations for us are high, and
- 8:46Speaker 4: we you know, we got to keep it, you know,
- 8:48Speaker 4: as chilling the locker room as possible.
- 8:49Speaker 2: So we go out there and perform.
- 8:52Speaker 8: Big Day coming up on Thursday.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Big Day. Boys are buzzing about it too. We get.
- 8:57Speaker 2: We got a lot of talk around locker room right now, a.
- 9:02Speaker 5: J we got, we got a trip up to boys,
- 9:04Speaker 5: got a off day in Wisconsin and flying up to
- 9:07Speaker 5: uh play Whistland Straights and take some of the some
- 9:10Speaker 5: of the current players' money.
- 9:11Speaker 8: Because I got, you know, I gotta make some money.
- 9:13Speaker 2: Nice.
- 9:13Speaker 8: So that's yeah, Brad.
- 9:16Speaker 5: I want to talk about I want to talk to
- 9:17Speaker 5: you about a little bit of like your ascension last year.
- 9:20Speaker 5: I mean, people who don't know your timeline. You were
- 9:23Speaker 5: rual five to Kansas City. Came in in that first
- 9:27Speaker 5: season in eighteen I believe right, eighteen eighteen, Yeah, one
- 9:31Speaker 5: long before you were the eighth inning guy setting up
- 9:34Speaker 5: Kelvin Herrera, and then had a great year, transitioned to
- 9:38Speaker 5: a starter, had a really good year as a starter,
- 9:40Speaker 5: battle some injuries, didn't quite couldn't quite find your footing,
- 9:44Speaker 5: and then last spring you go into Chicago trying to
- 9:48Speaker 5: fight for that fifth job, fifth starting role with the Cubs,
- 9:53Speaker 5: and then the way it fell, you fell into the
- 9:56Speaker 5: bullpen right and then it was just it was lights
- 9:58Speaker 5: out after that.
- 9:58Speaker 8: What was that was? Did you when.
- 10:00Speaker 5: When did you realize that you were gonna be in
- 10:02Speaker 5: the bullpeny with Chicago? When did they tell you that?
- 10:05Speaker 2: It was about three weeks into spring training.
- 10:09Speaker 4: They were like, hey, we kind of we were going
- 10:12Speaker 4: to Japan, so they had to make, you know, roster
- 10:14Speaker 4: decisions early, and they were like, hey, kind.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Of told you you're coming in competing for that fitth spot.
- 10:19Speaker 4: We really already have four guys, and we have a
- 10:22Speaker 4: front runner in that fifth spot, and we really want
- 10:25Speaker 4: this guy to have the job. So they're like, we
- 10:28Speaker 4: think there's a lot of value in you being a
- 10:30Speaker 4: long guy at the bullpen. Are you open to that?
- 10:33Speaker 4: And I was like, you know, I just I signed
- 10:34Speaker 4: a minor league deal here. I signed a minor league
- 10:36Speaker 4: deal the year before. I'm like, I'm down for whatever.
- 10:38Speaker 4: I just want to be back in the big leagues
- 10:40Speaker 4: and kind of just showcase what, you know, I'm healthy now,
- 10:43Speaker 4: you know, a year removed from tos surgery. It's like,
- 10:47Speaker 4: I just want to showcase what I can do and
- 10:48Speaker 4: just go and enjoy, you know, being back in baseball
- 10:51Speaker 4: and falling the level of the game again.
- 10:52Speaker 2: And so ultimately, like that's how it went down. As
- 10:57Speaker 2: far as just like.
- 10:58Speaker 4: Being able to the decision to go to Japan. I
- 11:02Speaker 4: wasn't even technically on the roster when we went to Japan.
- 11:03Speaker 4: They were just like, hey, you're gonna come with us.
- 11:05Speaker 4: And I didn't pitch in any of the games. I
- 11:07Speaker 4: just got a seven day trip to Japan with the
- 11:10Speaker 4: team and had a blast.
- 11:11Speaker 2: It was a great time. Got you know, catch from
- 11:14Speaker 2: Rob with the boys, and it was it was awesome.
- 11:16Speaker 4: So but yeah, it was I was like I said,
- 11:19Speaker 4: it was just you know, I told him I was
- 11:21Speaker 4: opening and willing to do anything, and you know, I
- 11:25Speaker 4: felt like at first I came in you know, long
- 11:29Speaker 4: long situations, throwing two innings, three innings, and then it
- 11:32Speaker 4: slowly became like one inning and non leverage, and then
- 11:34Speaker 4: it just like then it was like the sixth inning,
- 11:37Speaker 4: close it like you know, clean up innings, and it
- 11:39Speaker 4: was like seventh inning, eighth inning.
- 11:41Speaker 2: And then by the end of the.
- 11:42Speaker 4: Year, I was whenever plince he got hurt, I got
- 11:44Speaker 4: some save opportunities.
- 11:47Speaker 8: Bright go ahead with sorry, no, you good?
- 11:53Speaker 5: Uh tell me to just talk about a little bit
- 11:55Speaker 5: of the difference in starting and releading. What do you
- 11:57Speaker 5: what do you credit your success as a as a
- 11:59Speaker 5: in a bullpen to?
- 12:00Speaker 2: It?
- 12:00Speaker 8: Is it health?
- 12:01Speaker 5: Is it? Is it a mentality thing? You feel like
- 12:03Speaker 5: your stuff's just better out of the pin? Do you
- 12:05Speaker 5: what do you give that credit to?
- 12:08Speaker 2: I think health first and foremost.
- 12:09Speaker 4: I think, like I said, getting the tos in the
- 12:11Speaker 4: past and being a full healthy offseason going into last
- 12:14Speaker 4: year helped out a lot, just you know, kind of
- 12:17Speaker 4: free and easy, like mentally, just go out there and
- 12:19Speaker 4: have fun. But I definitely think there's an uptick in
- 12:22Speaker 4: the bullpen. I think that's just there's nothing like the
- 12:25Speaker 4: adrenaline spike whenever the phone rings and they're like, hey,
- 12:27Speaker 4: you got it, and it's just like you almost blackout
- 12:29Speaker 4: in the sense and it's just you know, adrenaline through
- 12:31Speaker 4: the roof and you just start ripping it. I think
- 12:34Speaker 4: it takes a lot of the thinking out of it,
- 12:35Speaker 4: you know, as starting to kind of be a lot
- 12:37Speaker 4: more methodical with how you go about your business and
- 12:40Speaker 4: versus relieving. It's just like, hey, man, phone rings, it's
- 12:42Speaker 4: it's go time, let's go. So I think a little
- 12:44Speaker 4: bit of those two, you know, combined with you know,
- 12:48Speaker 4: stuff playing up, it helps out a lot.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Brad, what's changed without Topper? I mean, you guys have
- 12:53Speaker 2: been playing much better now.
- 12:54Speaker 6: I know you guys are a better team than what
- 12:55Speaker 6: you showed early in the year. You only had Topper
- 12:58Speaker 6: for spring training in a little bit. So what what
- 13:00Speaker 6: is Donnie Baseball brought to the table that maybe and listen,
- 13:04Speaker 6: I liked Rob Thompson. I think everyone liked Rob Thompson.
- 13:06Speaker 6: But what has Donnie Baseball changed? Don mannally changed since
- 13:09Speaker 6: he's taken over, or have you guys just played better?
- 13:13Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 13:13Speaker 4: I mean I think it's just like that was like
- 13:15Speaker 4: a wake up call to us. I mean, I think
- 13:17Speaker 4: everyone here love Topper everyone. You know, I didn't have
- 13:20Speaker 4: him as much as the other guys did, so I
- 13:22Speaker 4: really can't speak on you know, years prior to but
- 13:24Speaker 4: just a little bit that I, you know, played underneath him.
- 13:27Speaker 4: I had a great time. He was awesome, communicate very well,
- 13:29Speaker 4: I mean, great manager. But you know, whenever we let
- 13:33Speaker 4: him go, it is kind of a wake up call
- 13:35Speaker 4: throughout the locker room. It's like, dang, like, you know,
- 13:37Speaker 4: a good man just lost his job because we weren't
- 13:39Speaker 4: playing well. So I think, you know, obviously Donnie he's
- 13:43Speaker 4: he's awesome, He's super laid back, kind of very similar
- 13:46Speaker 4: vibe to Topper.
- 13:48Speaker 2: But I think a lot of it was.
- 13:49Speaker 4: Just a wake up call to us be like dang, like,
- 13:52Speaker 4: you know, we we gotta kind of turn things around.
- 13:54Speaker 2: Here, Crouch.
- 13:58Speaker 6: You know why I travel all the time and I'm
- 14:00Speaker 6: always looking for possible tickets to go see Evans concerts,

- 14:07Speaker 7: traveling so pretty much. I'm looking for the games all
- 14:10Speaker 7: in my area. I'm gonna look for an Orioles game,
- 14:13Speaker 7: I'm gonna look for the Phillies game, the Mets game,

- 14:55Speaker 8: Thank you, Seatkeek.
- 14:58Speaker 5: Brad, you're at Atlanta boy now in that same division? Uh,
- 15:02Speaker 5: how many tickets are you leaving when you go play
- 15:04Speaker 5: the Braves and too? I mean with the start that
- 15:06Speaker 5: Atlanta's on, you guys obviously are going into the year
- 15:10Speaker 5: hoping to win the division. Just talent and Philly has
- 15:13Speaker 5: it should be the goal every year. But with the
- 15:15Speaker 5: start Atlanta's on you guys watching that at all, you
- 15:18Speaker 5: guys chasing it or you just worried on day to
- 15:20Speaker 5: day action.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I think it was more of a
- 15:24Speaker 2: day to day action.
- 15:25Speaker 4: I think we're you know, obviously we had to climb
- 15:27Speaker 4: out of a hole there ourselves, so we're just kind
- 15:29Speaker 4: of focusing on ourselves and just you know, take a
- 15:31Speaker 4: game by game, and I think we're still in that mentality.
- 15:33Speaker 2: It's like, it's a long season. Anything can happen. You know.
- 15:36Speaker 4: Obviously last year being a part of you know, the Cubs,
- 15:39Speaker 4: we jumped out to a hot start and then we
- 15:40Speaker 4: ended up you know, not winning the division.
- 15:42Speaker 2: So it's like, you know, anything could happen.
- 15:44Speaker 4: It was just we just got to go about our
- 15:45Speaker 4: business each day and you know, try to win this day,
- 15:48Speaker 4: and and I can't really focus on the other team,
- 15:50Speaker 4: especially you know, pre all start break. I feel like,
- 15:53Speaker 4: you know, it's right now, it's just you know, everyone
- 15:55Speaker 4: getting their footing, just you know, try to win as
- 15:57Speaker 4: many games right now and then we'll you know, focus
- 15:59Speaker 4: in the later on the season.
- 16:02Speaker 6: Brad, you've been there for a few months now and
- 16:04Speaker 6: you had spring training. Kyle Schwarber, what is so special
- 16:08Speaker 6: about Schwarber. All you hear is, Oh, Schwarber's the greatest
- 16:10Speaker 6: clubhouse guy. Can you explain it to someone out there
- 16:13Speaker 6: that's never been in a clubhouse or a locker room?
- 16:15Speaker 6: What he does, it's so special.
- 16:18Speaker 4: I think he's he's a superstar in his own right, right,
- 16:22Speaker 4: Like he's a stud, right, but he doesn't act like one,
- 16:26Speaker 4: right Like, and not to say that in a bad way.
- 16:27Speaker 4: He's just as down to earth as they come, like
- 16:29Speaker 4: just hilarious, keeps everything light.
- 16:33Speaker 2: He's the guy that everyone goes to.
- 16:34Speaker 4: He's the guy that I mean, he's, I guess, lack
- 16:37Speaker 4: of a better term, like the glue guy. Right, He's
- 16:39Speaker 4: like always keeping things He's our mic guy on the Boss,
- 16:43Speaker 4: Like he's always keeping things light. But in the same sense,
- 16:46Speaker 4: he's unbelievable, like he's out there just posting every single.
- 16:50Speaker 2: Day, hitting homers.
- 16:52Speaker 4: I mean, it's just it's so funny to be around
- 16:55Speaker 4: him because you know, from like his just career trajector
- 17:00Speaker 4: just is absolutely unbelievable, and you would expect someone of
- 17:05Speaker 4: that caliber to kind of act a certain way, not
- 17:07Speaker 4: in a bad again, not in a bad way, but
- 17:09Speaker 4: just like he's just so humble and so down to
- 17:11Speaker 4: earth that it's easy to talk to him, and he's
- 17:14Speaker 4: always just going up to everybody and just keeping things
- 17:16Speaker 4: light and that's I think that's what makes it so special.
- 17:20Speaker 8: Brad, what's it like?
- 17:21Speaker 5: You happy JT got signed and I know you didn't
- 17:24Speaker 5: know him before they sign him back, but how's it
- 17:26Speaker 5: been thrown a JT?
- 17:28Speaker 4: It's been awesome. You know, it's a completely different perspective.
- 17:32Speaker 4: I didn't get to work with him a whole lot
- 17:33Speaker 4: in spring, so kind of ear in the season, he's like,
- 17:35Speaker 4: you know, don't know, don't be scared to shake me.
- 17:37Speaker 2: I'm still trying to learn you and everything.
- 17:38Speaker 4: But he's like by the end of the year, he's like,
- 17:40Speaker 4: we'll get this thing down, Pat, And it's it's amazing
- 17:43Speaker 4: to see, you know, him work back there and like
- 17:46Speaker 4: he's unbelievable framing, he's unbelievable game color. Just it's a
- 17:49Speaker 4: lot of fun to get to know him and obviously
- 17:51Speaker 4: like he's a stud in his in his own right
- 17:54Speaker 4: as well, So being able to throw to the catcher
- 17:57Speaker 4: of that caliber is awesome, and it kind of again,
- 17:59Speaker 4: it takes a thing anything out of us when we
- 18:00Speaker 4: get in the game.
- 18:01Speaker 2: It's like, I got all the trust and faith in JT.
- 18:03Speaker 4: And know, you know, coming in the game, I you know,
- 18:05Speaker 4: he knows all these hitters like the back of his
- 18:07Speaker 4: hand already, and you know that's that that helps us
- 18:10Speaker 4: out a lot, gives us a lot of confidence coming
- 18:12Speaker 4: in the game.
- 18:13Speaker 5: What do you do get to throw to a brick
- 18:15Speaker 5: house like JT? And then you the next day maybe
- 18:19Speaker 5: you're throwing a Stubby. Are you scared you're gonna hurt Stubby?
- 18:23Speaker 4: No?
- 18:24Speaker 2: But I always say this, it's so funny because.
- 18:29Speaker 4: J C is bigger, right, and so Stubby every time
- 18:31Speaker 4: is Stuffy's gloves huge, and so I feel like I
- 18:35Speaker 4: just see Stubby's eyes and then his glove and nothing else.
- 18:38Speaker 2: It's so funny.
- 18:40Speaker 8: Everyone's bigger than Stubby.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Man.
- 18:47Speaker 3: Is he one of the smaller catchers in baseball?
- 18:52Speaker 2: I feel like he's got to be right.
- 18:53Speaker 8: I think in baseball history, I think he's one.
- 18:55Speaker 6: Of the small players. Stubby Stuff is like a little guy.
- 19:01Speaker 6: I mean, yeah, it's amazing what he's been able to
- 19:03Speaker 6: do with his size.
- 19:05Speaker 8: Honestly, I will say he's got to hand it for
- 19:08Speaker 8: an arm though.
- 19:11Speaker 4: Yeah, he showed it off. I mean he played a
- 19:12Speaker 4: little bit of the outfield. Mean, he's kind of bounced
- 19:14Speaker 4: around everywhere. I think he played a little bit first base.
- 19:16Speaker 4: The other day he played the outfield, and first of all,
- 19:18Speaker 4: at the in the outfield, he just let it ride.
- 19:20Speaker 2: It was like got to show it off, you know.
- 19:22Speaker 2: As well.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Last one from me, Brad, which teammate has the most
- 19:27Speaker 1: impressive tool?
- 19:33Speaker 2: I mean, we have so many guys.
- 19:35Speaker 4: I mean, obviously Harper's a superstar, Shrober's superstar, wheels and
- 19:40Speaker 4: Sanchi unbelievable Duran. I mean, I think I think for me,
- 19:45Speaker 4: watching Sanchi pitch up close is probably the most impressive
- 19:49Speaker 4: thing I've ever seen. Like that run that he just
- 19:50Speaker 4: went on is honestly, like it's hard to put into words,
- 19:55Speaker 4: going fifty and two thirds scoreless like in today's today's game,
- 20:00Speaker 4: Like it's just it's unbelievable, and how like composed he
- 20:04Speaker 4: was through the whole thing and just like going about
- 20:06Speaker 4: his business like just another day at the ballpark.
- 20:09Speaker 2: It's awesome.
- 20:09Speaker 4: I mean, he's he's a superstar, and each year he
- 20:12Speaker 4: gets better, and it's been it's been a lot of
- 20:14Speaker 4: fun to watch that and I'm excited what I think
- 20:16Speaker 4: he's on the Mountain to night, so I'm excited to
- 20:17Speaker 4: watch that as well.
- 20:19Speaker 3: Yeah, he's been fun to watch.
- 20:20Speaker 1: You got a good set of teammates there, Brian, thanks
- 20:22Speaker 1: for joining us, Man, thanks for hanging with us for
- 20:24Speaker 1: a little bit.
- 20:24Speaker 3: Good luck the rest of the way.
- 20:26Speaker 2: Yeah, thank you guys. I appreciate it.
