Latest / OneLegUpAlex Media / OneLegUpAlex News: Eight Democrats Have One Leg Up for Americans As Shutdown Nears End
Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Here's your host, Alex Garrett. Tonight should tell you how
- 0:07Speaker 1: callous the left really is. And I've said this when
- 0:12Speaker 1: the shutdown began way back in October. You do realize
- 0:17Speaker 1: the Democrats held Americans with disabilities hostage by shutting down
- 0:22Speaker 1: the government for illegals. You do realize that was the
- 0:26Speaker 1: whole premise here health insurance for illegals while harming those
- 0:32Speaker 1: Americans with disabilities and others who need an insurance. So
- 0:39Speaker 1: you thought that was callous, Well, apparently there are a
- 0:41Speaker 1: lot of the left unhappy with the eight Democrats who
- 0:45Speaker 1: finally came to their senses to unblock the governments. I
- 0:51Speaker 1: want to shout out those eight right now because I
- 0:55Speaker 1: don't always agree with them. Shaheen Hassen, King, Senators Cortes Masto,
- 1:04Speaker 1: Dick Durbin, John Fetterman. Who I think is this which
- 1:07Speaker 1: parties here? Tim Kaine not the best VP candidate, but
- 1:16Speaker 1: tonight he came through and Jackie Rosen and there's gonna
- 1:21Speaker 1: be rabid leftists who don't care about the Americans disabilities
- 1:25Speaker 1: that are calling for their primary ing tonight. That's why
- 1:30Speaker 1: these eight Democrats are heroes. Yes, this only kicks that
- 1:34Speaker 1: came down the road till January. It looks like, but
- 1:39Speaker 1: if you're a Democrat, and I mean a far left Democrat,
- 1:43Speaker 1: don't ever call yourself an American again. He goes, you
- 1:46Speaker 1: don't care about America or people with disabilities. If I
- 1:50Speaker 1: see posts like f you to this senator or f
- 1:54Speaker 1: you to that senator, you're not an American. And there
- 1:59Speaker 1: are a lot on the that agree with this person
- 2:02Speaker 1: that was cursing out the Democrats that came to their
- 2:05Speaker 1: senses and agreed to end the shutdown. There have been
- 2:11Speaker 1: people across the country who needed the snap benefits, who
- 2:15Speaker 1: needed these EBTs, that haven't been able to get it
- 2:18Speaker 1: for a total of thirty eight plus days. And yet
- 2:23Speaker 1: these rabid leftists are proving how Unamerican they are, how
- 2:28Speaker 1: ruthless they are, how callous they are by calling for
- 2:32Speaker 1: the primary of these eight courageous Democrats. And I don't
- 2:38Speaker 1: know if to call the Democrats courageous, but these eight
- 2:42Speaker 1: stand out to me. The deal to end the shutdown,
- 2:46Speaker 1: according to BBC News, was negotiated by sentence Genie Shakeen
- 2:50Speaker 1: of New Hampshire, Maggie Hassen of New Hampshire, and Angus
- 2:54Speaker 1: Kingham Maine. Gaining approval from John Thune, the majority leader
- 2:58Speaker 1: from South Dakota, and yes, the White House. The whole
- 3:05Speaker 1: point of all this is to it's a big dance,
- 3:12Speaker 1: song and dance over the Affordable Care Act Obamacare, and
- 3:17Speaker 1: allowing the funds to lapse would raise insurance premiums and
- 3:20Speaker 1: premiums for millions of Americans unless they are extended. Democrats
- 3:24Speaker 1: settled for a promise that the Senate will vote on
- 3:27Speaker 1: a bill to extend the subsidies by the end of
- 3:30Speaker 1: the second week of December, with the outcome uncertain. Two
- 3:34Speaker 1: of the sources said this deal also reverses Trump's attempted
- 3:38Speaker 1: layoffs of federal workers during the shutdown through RIfS or
- 3:44Speaker 1: reduction enforced notifications. So and it would fully fund this
- 3:56Speaker 1: net program through next September through next September. So this
- 4:02Speaker 1: is a heroic bill, a heroic decision that these eight
- 4:08Speaker 1: came to the table knowing that their political careers could
- 4:12Speaker 1: be in jeopardy because the far left doesn't want peace.
- 4:18Speaker 1: These radical, rabid leftists don't want peace. You know how,
- 4:21Speaker 1: I know that right here in New York, Mamdanni gets
- 4:24Speaker 1: elected and this little brat asshole in city Council OC says,
- 4:34Speaker 1: you know what, I'm gonna go and challenge Akiem Jeffries.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Where's that story before? I keep going here against the
- 4:43Speaker 1: wishes of Mamdani. So even the lefty are eating themselves alive.
- 4:49Speaker 1: NYC councilman Chi, I'll see years up for primary challenge
- 4:53Speaker 1: against the Kim Jeffries, against the explicit objections a mayor
- 4:58Speaker 1: elect Joram Mamdani. You know this guy. Oh see. I
- 5:05Speaker 1: wasn't even at the victory party for mom Donnie because
- 5:10Speaker 1: of all of this. And I just find it interesting
- 5:18Speaker 1: that all these leftists extremists think they're going to come
- 5:22Speaker 1: in here and run the country and call for the
- 5:25Speaker 1: primary of these different establishment candidates, establishment politicians. Now Mum
- 5:35Speaker 1: Donnie did it, but I think he had a bit
- 5:39Speaker 1: of advantage because Cuomo wasn't the best candidate obviously in
- 5:42Speaker 1: the Democrats because they lost. But the fact that this
- 5:49Speaker 1: also things he can run against Sakim Jeffries, the fact
- 5:52Speaker 1: that these woke Twitter followers X followers can think their
- 5:59Speaker 1: voice matters to primary people, it strikes the nerve because
- 6:04Speaker 1: it just shows it just shows that the Democratic Party
- 6:13Speaker 1: is becoming less and less American and more hijacked by
- 6:17Speaker 1: the leftists, whose voice of saying primary is resonating. I mean,
- 6:24Speaker 1: it's it's disturbing you put party over people when you
- 6:30Speaker 1: say f you to all eight Democrats and all of
- 6:35Speaker 1: the whole point there was to make sure Americans were
- 6:37Speaker 1: being treated right by the government. And do you think
- 6:41Speaker 1: thirty eight plus days thirty seventy eight days of a
- 6:45Speaker 1: shutdown is being treated right by any such of the imagination? No,
- 6:53Speaker 1: So remember that, and fifty percent of New Yorker's voted
- 6:57Speaker 1: for this insanity, over forty nine percent that Sliwa and
- 7:03Speaker 1: Cuomo combined to get over half of New Yorkers did
- 7:09Speaker 1: say we want the insanity to take over New York.
- 7:14Speaker 1: WILLI mom. Donnie may try and qualm, but he's not
- 7:17Speaker 1: a moderate. He probably called for this if he wasn't
- 7:22Speaker 1: elect the mayor, probably called for these people to be
- 7:31Speaker 1: primary because that's how rapid and radical it's become. So
- 7:40Speaker 1: are you gonna uh sit there and be a part
- 7:51Speaker 1: of a party that's now being taken over and being
- 7:59Speaker 1: I would say, Hiji act by even want to be
- 8:03Speaker 1: leftists on X. We're gonna stand strong and be that
- 8:10Speaker 1: American politician that yes, people with disabilities need you to be.
- 8:15Speaker 1: These eight Democrats came to their senses and they must
- 8:20Speaker 1: be view as courageous tonight and nothing less. And I
- 8:27Speaker 1: really do hope Fetterman changes parties. I think he'd be
- 8:29Speaker 1: a good in the Republican And I never said that
- 8:33Speaker 1: about the guy, but his stance on Israel, his views
- 8:38Speaker 1: on this also he's rebuked Biden and all that along
- 8:42Speaker 1: the way. He just sounds more Republican than anything. And
- 8:49Speaker 1: while I'm on the subject, I want to make one
- 8:50Speaker 1: thing clear. The Democratic Party did not win in New
- 8:55Speaker 1: York this week. The Democratic Party did not win because
- 9:02Speaker 1: the Democratic Party this week was hijacked by a brat
- 9:07Speaker 1: snot nosed thirty three year olds now thirty four year
- 9:10Speaker 1: old assemblyman who somehow fooled them all to get the votes.
- 9:18Speaker 1: So no, whenever there's that, let's say a Democrat. No,
- 9:21Speaker 1: a Democrat did not win, a far left socialist one.
- 9:29Speaker 1: I do feel like he has some anti Semitic tendencies
- 9:32Speaker 1: as well, but we won't get there. We won't go there.
- 9:35Speaker 1: That's a little hot water. But a Democrat did not
- 9:40Speaker 1: win in New York this week, a socialist one. There
- 9:44Speaker 1: is a big difference. So why don't we do this,
- 9:47Speaker 1: he said, a little d NeXT's name put s or DSA.
- 9:52Speaker 1: That's a proper presentation of whose your mom Donnie is,
- 9:56Speaker 1: and a proper presentation of who is calling for the
- 10:00Speaker 1: primary of these eight Democrats who said no more bs
- 10:06Speaker 1: in Capitol Hill, that's what we heard tonight, No more
- 10:13Speaker 1: bull And I don't really side with Dick Derban on
- 10:20Speaker 1: a lot of things or Tim Kaine, in fact, I
- 10:23Speaker 1: think they're kind of nuts. But on this I'll say
- 10:27Speaker 1: they did a good job. I'll say they deserve to
- 10:30Speaker 1: be praised for coming to the table and agreeing with Republicans.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Why is by partisanship such an evil word to these extremists,
- 10:41Speaker 1: I'd say on either side, but tonight on the leftist side.
- 10:45Speaker 1: By partisanship moves the government along, moves these benefits along.
- 10:50Speaker 1: We're seeing that, and for them to prioritize Americans over
- 10:58Speaker 1: illegals is just means a lot. And maybe it's political
- 11:06Speaker 1: posturing on their part, I don't know, but for now
- 11:09Speaker 1: take it as a sign they wanted to come to
- 11:11Speaker 1: the table and agree with Republicans and get the job
- 11:16Speaker 1: done so that people like those in the Xaber community
- 11:23Speaker 1: get their benefits. And I've said this a couple of
- 11:25Speaker 1: weeks ago when it was about to run out and
- 11:27Speaker 1: Kathy did an emergency order. We shouldn't judge how people
- 11:35Speaker 1: use their snack money. We should just let them, if
- 11:40Speaker 1: they truly need it, have it. The work requirement thing.
- 11:45Speaker 1: I don't know if I'm fully on board because there
- 11:50Speaker 1: are people that truly need these benefits and for the
- 11:57Speaker 1: Democrats specifically to hold it over people's heads, making them worry,
- 12:03Speaker 1: making them scared, making them frustrated. I said this back
- 12:09Speaker 1: in March and I'll say it again. Ease frustration through legislation,
- 12:17Speaker 1: Ease frustration through legislation, And that's exactly what happened tonight.
- 12:22Speaker 1: That term came to light in DC because that maybe,
- 12:28Speaker 1: just maybe this breath of fresh air agreement can bring, relaxation,
- 12:33Speaker 1: can bring ease, can bring com to people's lives that
- 12:38Speaker 1: have been upended for thirty eight plus days. And I
- 12:46Speaker 1: might get trolled on X I don't care this this
- 12:50Speaker 1: one account saying you f you what a callous, callous response,
- 12:58Speaker 1: But tonight that ease frustration through legislation works, and that's
- 13:05Speaker 1: how we have to keep the government going. And that
- 13:08Speaker 1: reminder to all these folks and look, I've seen the
- 13:12Speaker 1: right challenge and say primary this guy, primary that guy
- 13:17Speaker 1: Evan and get their way. I don't like that either,
- 13:21Speaker 1: but it's the Democrats. I think they're doing all the
- 13:23Speaker 1: best in the world for illegal for humanity, while forgetting
- 13:29Speaker 1: the humans of America are getting shafted with all of
- 13:35Speaker 1: this by prioritizing illegals. Now, that is what the party's
- 13:40Speaker 1: messages become. They are illegals over Americans, not only with disabilities,
- 13:49Speaker 1: but just Americans who were born on this soil. That's
- 13:54Speaker 1: how this whole thing started. And so for them to
- 13:59Speaker 1: have eight of them not tow the party line for
- 14:04Speaker 1: once means there could still be hope for decent politics
- 14:10Speaker 1: in d C. Even if it's only eight Democrats at
- 14:16Speaker 1: a time. We'll thank those eight, We'll take those eights
- 14:21Speaker 1: support and keep the government open because I think we
- 14:24Speaker 1: saw in this shutdown the longest ever how vital DC
- 14:30Speaker 1: is to everybody's lives and how needed they are. And
- 14:36Speaker 1: even myself may have taken it for granted because well, Washington,
- 14:41Speaker 1: d C, they're always gonna be Nope, it's why we
- 14:44Speaker 1: fought in d C for those benefits to help people
- 14:47Speaker 1: with UH digestive diseases to remind them, Yeah, you have
- 14:53Speaker 1: that coalition around as well that needs your support. You
- 14:57Speaker 1: have one million Americans with ostomes that need your support.
- 15:04Speaker 1: And it just goes to highlight how important community is
- 15:08Speaker 1: to look out for one another. I hope this also
- 15:15Speaker 1: eases air traffic control. But the great point there was, well,
- 15:19Speaker 1: why can't airlines fund the air traffic controlers? Why can't
- 15:22Speaker 1: they get the money their private entities? Why can't they
- 15:25Speaker 1: do it? And that is a great point. We need
- 15:30Speaker 1: these organizations to continue sticking together to fund the things
- 15:34Speaker 1: that the government won't. And I'm sorry if I sound like
- 15:38Speaker 1: I'm running for office, but it just it feels like
- 15:43Speaker 1: we can do this as a community, and we should
- 15:47Speaker 1: do this as a community, because we just saw how
- 15:50Speaker 1: Washington will not always be there. But if we're all
- 15:53Speaker 1: there together in little towns of Long Island, in New Jersey,
- 15:57Speaker 1: of New York City, the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, Suffolk, NASA,
- 16:04Speaker 1: if we can all come together and I don't want
- 16:13Speaker 1: to say coaguly, but and and join forces if you will,
- 16:20Speaker 1: to better the lives of all New Yorkers, New Jerseyans
- 16:25Speaker 1: and connecticuts, and anywhere in your community will be better
- 16:31Speaker 1: off because I think this thirty eight plus days showed
- 16:35Speaker 1: us DC really doesn't give two craps. That's why we
- 16:40Speaker 1: got to give a crap about each other and have
- 16:42Speaker 1: one leg up for each other when DC fails us
