- 0:10Speaker 1: God bless football, Mikey a.
- 0:14Speaker 2: God blessed football.
- 0:15Speaker 3: Israel Gutierrez, Yeah, God blessed football.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Stucatts, thank you?
- 0:20Speaker 4: Is he?
- 0:21Speaker 5: Taylor is off for passover pay sock but oddly working
- 0:25Speaker 5: on Easter.
- 0:29Speaker 2: He really is, Yeah, he is.
- 0:32Speaker 5: It's It's weird. I'm so proud of him. Juju Smith
- 0:35Speaker 5: Schuster is going to join us. I'm not certain if
- 0:37Speaker 5: I should wish him a happy passover or a happy Easter,
- 0:40Speaker 5: but we're going to talk to him.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Free agent wide receiver.
- 0:43Speaker 5: Spent last year with the Kansas City Chiefs and looking
- 0:47Speaker 5: forward to that.
- 0:49Speaker 1: There's a story about the Eagles.
- 0:50Speaker 5: We'll get to it just a second, but is he
- 0:52Speaker 5: You have been at this sports media game for a
- 0:55Speaker 5: long time. Have you ever encountered a creature? Have ever
- 1:00Speaker 5: encountered a sports media creature like Jay Glazier whose power
- 1:06Speaker 5: is such that at the Owner's meeting every year he
- 1:09Speaker 5: has a day drinking party with all the NFL coaches
- 1:12Speaker 5: that he's reporting on.
- 1:14Speaker 1: It's unbelievable in a darty that.
- 1:18Speaker 3: That makes zero sense to me, Like, so there the
- 1:21Speaker 3: coaches are at these meetings anyway, and so they take
- 1:24Speaker 3: time to hang out with Jay glazier or is this
- 1:26Speaker 3: something that they actually like, look forward to and want
- 1:30Speaker 3: to be a part of, Because like part of the
- 1:33Speaker 3: reason why if I was, you know, bold enough to
- 1:37Speaker 3: even do something like this, I wouldn't think anybody would
- 1:39Speaker 3: want to come. Why would you want to come to
- 1:40Speaker 3: a day drinking party with me? You're an NFL coach,
- 1:43Speaker 3: you could do whatever you want. And so yeah, I
- 1:46Speaker 3: think it's pretty deutily a pretty ballsy but it's pretty
- 1:48Speaker 3: uh great that it's just executed properly and these guys
- 1:52Speaker 3: actually show up.
- 1:53Speaker 5: It might explain why Aaron Glenn said, Gino Smith is
- 1:56Speaker 5: going to take us to the Promised Lads, what do
- 2:02Speaker 5: you got? Like?
- 2:03Speaker 4: I imagine that there is a certain breed of coaches
- 2:06Speaker 4: that are very much looking forward to it, because you
- 2:08Speaker 4: both have to want to day drink, but you also
- 2:12Speaker 4: want to do it with other people. Like there are
- 2:14Speaker 4: people that are like, you know, I don't mind sipping
- 2:17Speaker 4: a few cocktails.
- 2:18Speaker 2: But like, I just want to do it with my family.
- 2:20Speaker 4: And then there's ones I was like, man, I can't
- 2:22Speaker 4: wait to see Jim and John Harbud do there their
- 2:25Speaker 4: duet on the piano while we freaking knocked back beers
- 2:27Speaker 4: or some.
- 2:29Speaker 6: Do we know if every coach was there or is
- 2:31Speaker 6: it just some of the coaches?
- 2:32Speaker 5: So twenty eight of the thirty two were there. McVeigh
- 2:35Speaker 5: wasn't there. He was one of them who wasn't there.
- 2:38Speaker 5: I don't know the exact backstory to how Jay Glazer
- 2:41Speaker 5: started doing this, but knowing Jay the way that I do,
- 2:44Speaker 5: and he's a great guy, knowing Jay the way I do,
- 2:47Speaker 5: there has to be some sort of charity tie in
- 2:49Speaker 5: because other than that, I agree with you, why would
- 2:52Speaker 5: the coaches want to sit around and drink with a
- 2:54Speaker 5: reporter all day?
- 2:55Speaker 4: I mean, so apparently he started this with Mike Tomlin
- 2:59Speaker 4: and they said, because this was the first year, obviously
- 3:01Speaker 4: Mike Tomlin wasn't there because it's not a coach anymore,
- 3:04Speaker 4: that they did raise a.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Glass to him.
- 3:06Speaker 4: And the whole point of it was, and I'm sure
- 3:08Speaker 4: that they have since included a charity tie in, but
- 3:12Speaker 4: it was coaches never get to mingle amongst each other
- 3:15Speaker 4: and share ideas and talk about things like how they're
- 3:18Speaker 4: handling certain things. So this was Jay Glazer and Mike
- 3:21Speaker 4: Tomlin bringing all the coaches together and giving them an
- 3:24Speaker 4: opportunity to talk amongst each other.
- 3:27Speaker 3: Oh, that makes a lot more sense than just a
- 3:29Speaker 3: day drinking party, especially one that Michael Phelps just randomly
- 3:36Speaker 3: pulls up to.
- 3:37Speaker 1: If I'm seeing this correctly, well, that's Jay Glazer's boy.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Again.
- 3:40Speaker 5: We've never encountered anything like Jay Glazer in the history
- 3:43Speaker 5: of sports media. Michael Phelps is one of his best friends.
- 3:47Speaker 6: I still do what I still don't understand Jay Lazer.
- 3:50Speaker 3: I saw you interview interviewing Jay Lazer on Super Bowl Week,
- 3:53Speaker 3: and it felt like it felt like the most star
- 3:56Speaker 3: struck I was. It felt like I could not approach him,
- 3:59Speaker 3: like I was not allow to get within like ten
- 4:01Speaker 3: feet of him.
- 4:02Speaker 6: An entirely different strategy for that guy.
- 4:04Speaker 1: He had an entourage.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Man, it's like Jim Rome. Jim Rome used to.
- 4:11Speaker 3: Be Yes, I don't even have five friends. This man
- 4:13Speaker 3: has like five hundred famous friends.
- 4:15Speaker 2: I know.
- 4:16Speaker 4: I know you're walking by slapping Trevor Lawrence on the ass,
- 4:19Speaker 4: going like, hey, man, have a good have a good show.
- 4:21Speaker 4: And meanwhile, Jake Laiz, You're like, I'm sir, I'm stand
- 4:25Speaker 4: back here and not not approach you.
- 4:27Speaker 5: It's so cool that Jay does it. It's cool that
- 4:30Speaker 5: the coaches participate. But it's a bad idea. I mean,
- 4:32Speaker 5: this is when Robert Salad gets too drunk and all
- 4:35Speaker 5: of a sudden he is ending fucking Leam Cohen's world.
- 4:37Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, well there's that Ben Johnson and mat
- 4:42Speaker 3: pro Ben Johnson and last year Mike McDaniel probably wouldn't
- 4:48Speaker 3: have been there. I believe he did recovery, so he
- 4:50Speaker 3: probably doesn't want any part of the drinking, and so
- 4:52Speaker 3: just watching all the other head coaches get drunk probably
- 4:54Speaker 3: not fun.
- 4:55Speaker 5: It'd be great if a new head coach gets there
- 4:57Speaker 5: and the other coaches is like, hey, who are you.
- 5:02Speaker 4: In a sea of people that are supposed to be
- 5:04Speaker 4: leaders of men? Who's holding court? Who's the guy that
- 5:07Speaker 4: is sitting down sipping his drink and everybody's going.
- 5:09Speaker 6: At his table?
- 5:11Speaker 5: Well, I would say normally it would be Aaron Glenn.
- 5:14Speaker 5: Thinks it's him.
- 5:16Speaker 4: He's jumping up trying to look over Dan Campbell.
- 5:20Speaker 6: Aaron Glen looks like he's at a table doing magic tricks.
- 5:24Speaker 6: That's what he looks like.
- 5:24Speaker 1: That put it on the poll.
- 5:27Speaker 5: Does Aaron Glenn look like someone who'd be sitting at
- 5:30Speaker 5: a table performing magic tricks?
- 5:33Speaker 3: You gotta figure Dan Campbell has a big presence, whether
- 5:36Speaker 3: he takes advantage of that or not. Like he's got
- 5:39Speaker 3: to have just a big giant like double of what's
- 5:43Speaker 3: bigger than pint when you're drinking beer, like the great
- 5:46Speaker 3: beer growler giant. He's a growler of beer, of beer,
- 5:52Speaker 3: and he's just holding court there.
- 5:54Speaker 5: By the way, if Aaron Glenn did get to the
- 5:56Speaker 5: promised land Wig Geno Smith, he would be.
- 6:04Speaker 1: What are you doing there? Are you pulling a Gino
- 6:06Speaker 1: Smith out of your.
- 6:09Speaker 6: He's doing.
- 6:13Speaker 4: Yes, I have Dan Campbell telling a story and everybody's riveted.
- 6:18Speaker 4: And then and then Aaron Glenn just goes, but.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Is this your card?
- 6:24Speaker 6: Didn't answer, my coach? Is this your I'd like.
- 6:27Speaker 5: To think Sean McVay, if he's there, is the guy
- 6:29Speaker 5: presiding over all of this?
- 6:31Speaker 1: No, Like he's certainly the coolest of the coaches, right, No.
- 6:35Speaker 6: No, he's the guy.
- 6:36Speaker 3: Yes, he's cool, but he knows he's cool, And those
- 6:39Speaker 3: guys don't actually thrust themselves into the limelight. He's off
- 6:43Speaker 3: to the side, waiting for others to come to him.
- 6:45Speaker 3: He's definitely playing into the cool role.
- 6:48Speaker 2: He's playing cornhole.
- 6:49Speaker 4: I just had I don't know why I have him
- 6:51Speaker 4: on the side and boat shoes playing cornhole and running it.
- 6:54Speaker 6: That's what I had.
- 6:57Speaker 5: Well it wasn't there, so it doesn't he was playing
- 7:00Speaker 5: cornhole because he was playing cornhole.
- 7:04Speaker 1: I'm drying the I'm looking through the coaches right now.
- 7:06Speaker 4: You want to yell at me because I didn't call
- 7:07Speaker 4: it bags. I feel like that's what you want to do, right, Okay?
- 7:10Speaker 1: No is he?
- 7:12Speaker 5: How do you feel about day drinking and darty? I
- 7:14Speaker 5: hate it, by the way, just out of I mean,
- 7:16Speaker 5: on't you start drinking during the day you cannot stop drinking? Well,
- 7:20Speaker 5: it's art drinking and you stop for five minutes, you
- 7:22Speaker 5: are done.
- 7:23Speaker 1: It's a lot.
- 7:24Speaker 3: You have to figure out what to drink, Like what
- 7:26Speaker 3: gets you like a little bit, you know, animated, as
- 7:28Speaker 3: opposed to it just brings you down, Like you're not
- 7:30Speaker 3: drinking wine in the middle of the afternoon, right, so
- 7:33Speaker 3: you got to drink something that gets you going a
- 7:35Speaker 3: little bit.
- 7:36Speaker 6: I think it is.
- 7:38Speaker 3: I just don't like it. I think I'm noted. I'm
- 7:41Speaker 3: knocked out by five pm, four pm even, and then
- 7:44Speaker 3: long you're up at like ten pm.
- 7:47Speaker 6: With a hangover.
- 7:48Speaker 5: Like it's just it's not the best it's not the
- 7:49Speaker 5: met for a slice of pizza. Yeah.
- 7:52Speaker 6: Yeah, it's like you didn't make any dinner plans and
- 7:53Speaker 6: all of a sudden.
- 7:54Speaker 3: Oh no, it's eleven PM and everything is closed and
- 7:57Speaker 3: you feel like trash.
- 7:58Speaker 2: It's the worst.
- 7:59Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, yeah, it's it's not the greatest. But
- 8:01Speaker 3: in this situation, like I'd be nervous about what I'm
- 8:05Speaker 3: drinking too. It's a lot of peer pressure, a lot
- 8:07Speaker 3: of guys who are probably like judging you based on
- 8:10Speaker 3: your drink. And so I'm very much like an apparol
- 8:13Speaker 3: sprits kind of guy, right when I when I get
- 8:15Speaker 3: to a to an event, especially if it's outdoors like
- 8:18Speaker 3: that right here, I'd have to double I have to
- 8:21Speaker 3: think about that one.
- 8:22Speaker 5: So you have you have Rabel walking around because you
- 8:25Speaker 5: know he's fucking pounding, okay, but like he's whispering into
- 8:29Speaker 5: other coaches years about Jeff Haffley, who's not drinking nearly
- 8:32Speaker 5: as much as everyone else looking.
- 8:34Speaker 3: Yeah, Hathley's definitely trying to put on a good impression
- 8:36Speaker 3: early on.
- 8:37Speaker 6: You know, his first one of these.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Could be his last.
- 8:41Speaker 3: Yeah, who else is at these?
- 8:44Speaker 6: First? Aaron Glenn is his first one. Clint Kubiak.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Now this is second for Eric, This definitely could be
- 8:49Speaker 1: his last. Kubiak.
- 8:55Speaker 5: Yeah, Todd Monkin, the Bills offensive coordinator, Jesse Mint.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Yeah, Brady.
- 9:02Speaker 3: Mike Lafleur has to get a lot of little brother stuff, right,
- 9:05Speaker 3: Oh yeah, you have to get a lot of this
- 9:07Speaker 3: guy and they just probably rib them all the time.
- 9:09Speaker 5: Oh yeah, coattails, nepotism, all that. What do you want
- 9:13Speaker 5: to drink a shot of nepotism?
- 9:16Speaker 4: Giving him noggies?
- 9:18Speaker 1: Put it on the pole? Is Rabel giving the other
- 9:21Speaker 1: coaches nogies?
- 9:23Speaker 3: John Harbaugh walking around like I'm always going to be here.
- 9:28Speaker 3: You can't get rid of me. Man, I will be
- 9:30Speaker 3: all of these.
- 9:31Speaker 5: Jim Is like, I'm always going to be here unless
- 9:33Speaker 5: I go to college. But I can come back whenever
- 9:35Speaker 5: the fuck I want. Right, who has been to the
- 9:38Speaker 5: most of these? Now I'm trying to think.
- 9:39Speaker 1: You know who I think uh is the most tenured?
- 9:44Speaker 1: It was Tomlin. Now it's John right, Okay, so.
- 9:46Speaker 5: He's the master of ceremony, oh Andy, Yeah, coming off
- 9:50Speaker 5: surgery though, but not a big drinker. You know, I
- 9:54Speaker 5: have a Horrball's Master of ceremonies. It should be the
- 9:56Speaker 5: longest tenured coach with a particular team.
- 9:59Speaker 1: So what John now, because now he's with the Giants.
- 10:02Speaker 3: I definitely you're you were dead on with Liam Cohen.
- 10:05Speaker 3: He's starting a fight two drinks in and he is
- 10:09Speaker 3: dropping gloves.
- 10:10Speaker 5: Right, and Salah's just sitting there, calm, sipping his drink
- 10:14Speaker 5: like just waiting. He's telling somebody wait for Liam, mad yes,
- 10:18Speaker 5: mad dogging him.
- 10:21Speaker 1: A couple of drinks away. Liam's gonna walk over here
- 10:24Speaker 1: and I'm gonna end his fucking world. So I do like.
- 10:29Speaker 5: Very calm when you're robbering Sala, because you know you're
- 10:31Speaker 5: the strongest guy in the room.
- 10:33Speaker 4: Mike McCarthy comes in.
- 10:34Speaker 2: I'm back. It's been a while where you been, Mike?
- 10:40Speaker 1: And why shot im are still here?
- 10:43Speaker 3: There's no chance Mike McCarthy ever in his life, has
- 10:48Speaker 3: ever uttered those two words that way.
- 10:53Speaker 1: Yes, that's he only at the day drinking coaches agree
- 10:57Speaker 1: and maybe.
- 11:00Speaker 5: I'm back, right, But it's cute and adorable, right, and

- 14:01Speaker 1: How'd you propose? If you don't mind sharing that story.
- 14:04Speaker 2: Bro, long story short. I was in Boston with the Patriots.
- 14:08Speaker 2: I was going to propose a weekend, and then I
- 14:11Speaker 2: got released and I signed with the Chiefs that following week,
- 14:15Speaker 2: so I had to change the whole proposal. But I
- 14:18Speaker 2: was doing I did it in Nantucket on a boat
- 14:20Speaker 2: with the sunset.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Oh wow, that.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Pre romantic, pre romantic.
- 14:28Speaker 5: Speaking of weddings, have you gotten the invite to the
- 14:31Speaker 5: Kelsey Swift wedding?
- 14:32Speaker 2: I mean, hopefully, hopefully I'll make the list. I hope
- 14:38Speaker 2: I make the list.
- 14:39Speaker 5: Yeah. Uh, you have to make the list, don't you.
- 14:41Speaker 5: I mean, come on, yeah.
- 14:42Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I have to.
- 14:44Speaker 6: I have to.
- 14:44Speaker 2: There's no doubt about it. I'm sure they're they're gonna
- 14:47Speaker 2: have a big wedding, you think, I think. I mean,
- 14:53Speaker 2: two most popular people right now on the planet.
- 14:56Speaker 6: It comes to couples, it's got to be bigger than
- 14:59Speaker 6: any super Bowl. Yeah, oh no.
- 15:02Speaker 2: She's I mean when she was, she's taking away to
- 15:04Speaker 2: all the Super Bowl. She's getting super more views just
- 15:08Speaker 2: her being there. You know, I didn't. You don't realize
- 15:10Speaker 2: how big her following is until until you're actually, you know,
- 15:15Speaker 2: around and see how big you know, her phone and chiefs.
- 15:19Speaker 5: Is there an uneasy feeling for you being a free agent,
- 15:23Speaker 5: Like how do you navigate through that in terms of
- 15:25Speaker 5: your emotions and stuff?
- 15:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean right now, honestly, it's just more so
- 15:29Speaker 2: just you know, being calm re lats. I feel like,
- 15:34Speaker 2: you know, I pray a lot, and I put that,
- 15:36Speaker 2: you know, spending time with my family and praying about
- 15:38Speaker 2: it and just being you know, super at ease. Don't
- 15:42Speaker 2: struggle at all with it right now. It's kind of nice,
- 15:45Speaker 2: you know, just working out every single day and just
- 15:49Speaker 2: when just having phone calls and stuff.
- 15:51Speaker 3: Did you We've actually had this heated debate on the
- 15:53Speaker 3: show today because our executive producer Taylor in the VIP
- 15:56Speaker 3: room over there has said he's made a ruling. He
- 15:59Speaker 3: said that if you cheer for a college football team
- 16:03Speaker 3: and then a different college basketball team, just know that
- 16:08Speaker 3: people don't respect you.
- 16:10Speaker 6: You're you're a Southern col guy.
- 16:14Speaker 2: You're just a bandwagon. At that point, it's like, all right,
- 16:21Speaker 2: if I cheer for our USC, but I'm cheering for
- 16:26Speaker 2: Arizona because they used to be in a Pac twelve
- 16:29Speaker 2: and they're no, Like, we're not doing that. Do you
- 16:33Speaker 2: know what's funny? My fiance is the same way, Like
- 16:36Speaker 2: she she cheers for Arizona basketball, but she supports because
- 16:39Speaker 2: she's from Oregon. She cheers for Oregon Ducks football. But
- 16:41Speaker 2: I'm like, how does that even make sense? Like you're
- 16:44Speaker 2: just a bad wagon and you just cheering for the
- 16:45Speaker 2: best team, right.
- 16:46Speaker 5: Like Oregon has a decent basketball team, right.
- 16:52Speaker 6: And there's something too even if the team is bad.
- 16:54Speaker 3: Like we've had a couple of people say that they
- 16:55Speaker 3: were Indiana University basketball fans and stuck around for the
- 16:59Speaker 3: football team and now it feels great.
- 17:01Speaker 2: No no, no, out of nowhere, and they made so
- 17:07Speaker 2: much noise, like we're not we're not letting out one slide.
- 17:10Speaker 5: Listen, Juju, you're gonna learn like when she brings that
- 17:12Speaker 5: up again in the future after you tie the NOTT,
- 17:14Speaker 5: just say, okay, honey, that's it.
- 17:22Speaker 6: Go ahead tell oh my god, Juju.
- 17:24Speaker 9: I love your personality because it just feels like you're
- 17:27Speaker 9: always just being your authentic self. Somebody else that we
- 17:30Speaker 9: talk to that feels like that every time we talk
- 17:32Speaker 9: to him, Kendrick Bourne. I'm curious in your opinion, who
- 17:37Speaker 9: are the best personalities in football?
- 17:40Speaker 2: Dude? Best personality in football obviously, Kendrick Bourne is definitely
- 17:45Speaker 2: one of the guys that brings that energy, always the
- 17:47Speaker 2: same person every single day, whether he's having a good
- 17:50Speaker 2: day or a bad day. Uh, he's that guy. Honestly,
- 17:54Speaker 2: I'll probably say someone else in that realm is that's
- 17:59Speaker 2: that for me? I just that's just like funny just
- 18:02Speaker 2: to be around I would have to be I will
- 18:06Speaker 2: have to say, uh damn, that's tough, dude. There's like
- 18:09Speaker 2: multiple bl I can choose from.
- 18:13Speaker 6: Make it amount rushmore.
- 18:14Speaker 1: Yeah, easier rushmore? Yeah.
- 18:18Speaker 6: Four biggest personalities in the NFL.
- 18:21Speaker 2: Or biggest personalities. Okay, so one of them, I'm gonna
- 18:24Speaker 2: put Travis Kelsey in there.
- 18:27Speaker 6: He's trying to get.
- 18:31Speaker 2: It's tough to say, because like, yeah, he is Travis Kelsey,
- 18:33Speaker 2: but like when you're around him twenty four seven, Like overall,
- 18:36Speaker 2: just a great guy to be around, always always joking,
- 18:39Speaker 2: no matter what the circumstances is going on. I would
- 18:43Speaker 2: say another guy is Kingsland. Kingsland, he's our old lineman
- 18:47Speaker 2: for the Chiefs too as well. He's a Polynesian dude,
- 18:50Speaker 2: just the guy. I just likes to have fun, doesn't
- 18:53Speaker 2: let anything bother him. Besides Kendrick Bourne because he's when
- 18:57Speaker 2: I was with him at the Patriots. Another guy too,
- 19:01Speaker 2: I'll have to say Taekwon Thornton. Taekwon Thornton made a
- 19:04Speaker 2: lot of noise for the Chiefs last year. A receiver
- 19:07Speaker 2: who can go down the field, but his personality outside
- 19:10Speaker 2: of a football helmet honestly just a comedian. And then
- 19:16Speaker 2: last one, I'll probably throw a big bann in there.
- 19:20Speaker 2: Really yeah, being around him, man, he's He probably doesn't
- 19:25Speaker 2: show a whole lot to the media, but I would
- 19:28Speaker 2: say definitely my time being there and the five years
- 19:30Speaker 2: I had with him, he's he's definitely God. I love
- 19:33Speaker 2: being around.
- 19:34Speaker 3: That's such an interesting but big band. I was just
- 19:36Speaker 3: about to ask you about quarterbacks and that's just a
- 19:38Speaker 3: perfect example. You've been in the league for going on
- 19:40Speaker 3: a decade now, and I'm just curious, from your perspective,
- 19:43Speaker 3: the receiver's perspective, how quarterback play has evolved over the
- 19:48Speaker 3: last decade.
- 19:49Speaker 6: Because you've got a lot.
- 19:50Speaker 3: Of two way quarterbacks coming in here because it feels
- 19:52Speaker 3: like a necessity. But then you also have a guy
- 19:54Speaker 3: like Fernando Mendozo doesn't seem to move that well, might
- 19:56Speaker 3: be probably gonna be the number one pick.
- 19:58Speaker 6: So I'm just curious from your perspect to how that's evolved.
- 20:01Speaker 2: It's it's evolved so much. Man. You talk about being
- 20:04Speaker 2: able to be on the field as a quarterback and
- 20:06Speaker 2: to have hey, I have you know, three rd receiver
- 20:09Speaker 2: is an option. I have a tight end as an option,
- 20:11Speaker 2: to have a running back as an option, and if
- 20:13Speaker 2: everything just goes to nobody's open my other options to
- 20:17Speaker 2: run the ball. So you see, like these guys are
- 20:19Speaker 2: coming in where they're dual threats, you know, like a
- 20:22Speaker 2: Lamar Jackson, like a justin Field, like a Kyler Murray,
- 20:25Speaker 2: where you know they're coming into big plays on their
- 20:28Speaker 2: feet as well. And then you got guys like Mendoza
- 20:31Speaker 2: who who's is a you know, a pocket quarterback who
- 20:35Speaker 2: just sits and just sits in the pocket and makes plays.
- 20:38Speaker 2: And you know guys like you know Joe Barrow who
- 20:40Speaker 2: does that, you know, Matthew Stafford, Like those guys are
- 20:43Speaker 2: guys who just they see the field and their anticipation
- 20:47Speaker 2: as far as making plays ahead of the time is
- 20:51Speaker 2: a different game. In my opinion, I feel like they
- 20:56Speaker 2: could both work, and depending on the system you're in.
- 20:58Speaker 2: I feel like with Patrick's system that when I played
- 21:01Speaker 2: with him, like he was in a system where he
- 21:02Speaker 2: was able to just you know, there's countless times in
- 21:05Speaker 2: practice where he had the right pass open, the right
- 21:09Speaker 2: time open, but he rather just scrambles and see what
- 21:12Speaker 2: we do what we do And then that's that practice
- 21:15Speaker 2: of like consistently and that's just just over time. And
- 21:18Speaker 2: then you got a guy like Big Ben who I
- 21:20Speaker 2: played with, who's a positive quarterback, who was like, hey,
- 21:24Speaker 2: this is what he does in a real game. He'll
- 21:26Speaker 2: like shut down the whole left side of the field,
- 21:28Speaker 2: the three receiver side, and just work the right side
- 21:31Speaker 2: because how much of the knowledge he knows of the football,
- 21:35Speaker 2: the defense that covers you're in and he's just giving
- 21:38Speaker 2: you know, signals and routes to the backside X and
- 21:40Speaker 2: just like hey telling this all like nothing like don't
- 21:43Speaker 2: just block. And that's how it's just the knowledge of
- 21:46Speaker 2: the game of each quarterback. And yeah, it's definitely evolving,
- 21:49Speaker 2: it's changing. I do still feel like both works in
- 21:52Speaker 2: the system you're in.
- 21:54Speaker 5: That's amazing what you just said about Mahomes, Like think
- 21:56Speaker 5: about how chaotic that game is and that position is
- 21:59Speaker 5: and how crazy it is, and how many people struggle
- 22:01Speaker 5: at playing that position. And what he does is he
- 22:04Speaker 5: relaxes and buys you more time to get to your spots.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Is that what you're saying, Yes, easily. And when you
- 22:10Speaker 2: talk about quarterbacks who got visions from here right like
- 22:14Speaker 2: when he's on the right side of the field, his
- 22:16Speaker 2: vision doesn't it doesn't like get narrow. It just stays
- 22:19Speaker 2: wide open. So like he's seeing more of botoo on
- 22:22Speaker 2: the back side. It's just as much as front side.
- 22:24Speaker 2: So being able to play like that, he does it
- 22:27Speaker 2: in practice all the time, and it just transitions and
- 22:30Speaker 2: over to the game.
- 22:31Speaker 6: Juju.
- 22:32Speaker 4: This week in the NFL is all about rule changes.
- 22:34Speaker 4: And if I made you the bizarre of the NFL,
- 22:38Speaker 4: what rules.
- 22:39Speaker 1: Are you change he should be the czar?
- 22:41Speaker 2: I mean the rules. Honestly, I would say, I think
- 22:45Speaker 2: the rule of preseason games. I think if you know
- 22:50Speaker 2: we talk about right now, I think the biggest things
- 22:52Speaker 2: people are saying, like, hey, eighteen games is kind of
- 22:54Speaker 2: crazy where it's like, all right, if we're doing eighteen
- 22:58Speaker 2: games as the person, that's his rule, Like, all, let's
- 23:01Speaker 2: take out the preseason. Yes, and I'm also making training
- 23:06Speaker 2: camp shorter.
- 23:07Speaker 1: Yeah, of course, just get to the games.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm just making all that just condensed and just
- 23:14Speaker 2: let's go to football. Do you want to see these
- 23:16Speaker 2: big games people see, you know, these these big games
- 23:20Speaker 2: and eighteen games, Like, I don't mind it, but let's
- 23:23Speaker 2: add two by weeks.
- 23:25Speaker 6: Dude, I got one. I think you'd like.
- 23:27Speaker 3: I don't think it'll ever go back to this because
- 23:29Speaker 3: it's too subjective. But back in my day, if a
- 23:32Speaker 3: receiver was up by the sideline, caught a pass and
- 23:35Speaker 3: got pushed out of bounds, it was up to the
- 23:37Speaker 3: referee to say, hey, he was going to come down
- 23:38Speaker 3: in bounds, that's a catch. Now you can just push
- 23:41Speaker 3: somebody out of bounds and it's definitely out of bounds.
- 23:43Speaker 3: I say, you go back to the other way, where
- 23:44Speaker 3: if you were in bounds when you were up catching
- 23:46Speaker 3: that ball, you're going to be ruled in bounds when
- 23:48Speaker 3: you come down. It doesn't matter if somebody pushed you out.
- 23:50Speaker 2: That's a good one. I kind of like that one.
- 23:52Speaker 2: I like that one. That's definitely an our favorite too, Yeah,
- 23:57Speaker 2: especially for me.
- 23:58Speaker 5: How do you feel about so and Israel play in
- 24:01Speaker 5: a flag football league. And Taylor was tired, and he
- 24:04Speaker 5: was playing defensive back, and he was lining up again.
- 24:08Speaker 1: And he looked the guy right in the eyes. This
- 24:10Speaker 1: has never happened you in the NFL? Has it?
- 24:12Speaker 5: Please tell me it hasn't happened, or please tell me
- 24:14Speaker 5: it has happened. Taylor looked the wide receiver in the
- 24:17Speaker 5: eyes and said, Hey, I'm tired. I'm taking the next
- 24:19Speaker 5: few plays off.
- 24:23Speaker 9: So I was that receiver JJU. I told mister like, hey,
- 24:30Speaker 9: we're gonna take the next couple of plays off. I
- 24:32Speaker 9: played in college actually at North Carolina. We were the
- 24:35Speaker 9: same draft class twenty seventeen. I just went on drafts.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, you play with Ryan Switzer?
- 24:41Speaker 9: Yeah right. I was behind Ryan Switzer and mccollins.
- 24:44Speaker 2: Yeah okay.
- 24:45Speaker 6: And about six other receivers.
- 24:48Speaker 2: But you're wait. So in this blag football you you
- 24:51Speaker 2: have are both playing both ways.
- 24:53Speaker 6: Right, yeah, yes, very limited roster.
- 24:55Speaker 2: Did they score on that play?
- 24:58Speaker 3: No, no, no, Taylor, I had a kind of a
- 25:00Speaker 3: couple of sixty yard touchdowns but didn't give up, so.
- 25:03Speaker 5: Right before you had to go back and play defense.
- 25:05Speaker 5: What he did was he scored. I got on a
- 25:07Speaker 5: sixty sixty five yard touchdown.
- 25:08Speaker 1: So he was tired.
- 25:09Speaker 5: But when you're tired, you don't tell the guy you're guarding, Hey,
- 25:11Speaker 5: I'm taking a few plays off me.
- 25:15Speaker 2: I don't think. I don't think I would have told
- 25:16Speaker 2: the guys that I'm that I'm duarty, I'm taking them.
- 25:19Speaker 2: I will tell my teammates like, yo, safety.
- 25:21Speaker 3: Exactly right, You've got the rest right covering, and shame
- 25:25Speaker 3: on them for not scoring.
- 25:27Speaker 1: I mean, jesus, he was taking plays off.
- 25:29Speaker 6: But juju.
- 25:29Speaker 9: A couple of times a game, maybe you're at receiver
- 25:32Speaker 9: and the runs going opposite way. You kind of look
- 25:34Speaker 9: at the corner and being like, hey, let's let's just
- 25:37Speaker 9: fake a couple of blocks, right.
- 25:39Speaker 2: That definitely happens. All you do is put your hand
- 25:42Speaker 2: into shorter pads and it's kind of like, hey, you're here,
- 25:45Speaker 2: I'm there, and it's just like yeah, the balls going
- 25:48Speaker 2: the other way like very respectful game for sure.
- 25:52Speaker 1: God Juju, where have you been my entire life?
- 25:54Speaker 5: I mean, seriously, my whole career. I want you all
- 25:56Speaker 5: more often? Can we make that happen?
- 26:01Speaker 1: All right?
- 26:02Speaker 5: Tell us one more time on the way out here,
- 26:04Speaker 5: and we do appreciate your time.
- 26:05Speaker 1: What you're doing with Just for Men?
- 26:08Speaker 2: Yeah, man, am I here partnership with Just for Man
