The Holy Spirit baptism is for empowering and commissioning of believers in Christ for service in God's vineyard. Jesus promised that His disciples would be baptized by the Holy Spirit as He ascended to heaven, to be with the Father. Today's Daily Devotional affirms that this promise was fulfilled to the disciples on the day of Pentecost, and that this gift of the baptism of the Holy Spirit has since then remained available to Jesus' disciples, for spiritual power and fruitfulness.
