- 0:00Speaker 1: We have a question for you and you can text us.
- 0:01Speaker 1: It's Kubby and Christine at four four three six three
- 0:05Speaker 1: four four three six three. The question is what was
- 0:08Speaker 1: ruined because too many people discovered it because somebody on
- 0:12Speaker 1: social media. Christine posted this and it got us a
- 0:15Speaker 1: talking yep, welcome to ight FM here on a Tuesday morning.
- 0:18Speaker 1: For example, thrift stores. Yes, people think that those have
- 0:23Speaker 1: been ruined because of all the resellers that.
- 0:25Speaker 2: My eye went right to that one too. You're feeling
- 0:28Speaker 2: that one, Yeah, in a big way.
- 0:30Speaker 1: It used to be kind of your sanctuary, you're getting
- 0:32Speaker 1: away from things.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Kind of cool, make a discovery.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Now other people are onto it.
- 0:37Speaker 2: And they're just selling this stuff.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Yeah, it's ruined.
- 0:40Speaker 2: Ruins it?
- 0:41Speaker 1: So I mean on this list, yeah, do you agree
- 0:44Speaker 1: with the bulk of it.
- 0:45Speaker 2: There's there's a lot on here, yes, Kubby. Like they're
- 0:49Speaker 2: saying food trucks because they've become so expensive.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Great points, Yeah, you know the Halal guys. Yeah, and
- 0:57Speaker 1: they have a truck and now they have a couple
- 0:58Speaker 1: of stores. Now. Feel like that's a good example of
- 1:02Speaker 1: they got so popular and now there's lines and the
- 1:05Speaker 1: persons went up and it's still great and all right,
- 1:07Speaker 1: it's like people discovered my secret, right so to go
- 1:10Speaker 1: there years ago.
- 1:11Speaker 2: That's the way we were saying that it's ruined, not
- 1:13Speaker 2: that the product's not good, right, too many people found it.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what we mean.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Yeah, Like I was, I was saying, like tourist spots,
- 1:20Speaker 2: you know, like if you travel, you want to go
- 1:22Speaker 2: to some place, whether it's in the US or someplace
- 1:26Speaker 2: like Rome or in Spain. And people are complaining because
- 1:28Speaker 2: everyone just goes Instagram's a photo and then moves on.
- 1:32Speaker 2: But all these spots have become so crowded now, like.
- 1:34Speaker 1: A Nashville or an Austin. You know, like people in
- 1:37Speaker 1: Austin were like, hey, we've been a cool town for
- 1:39Speaker 1: forty fifty years. You know, people known about us and
- 1:43Speaker 1: been coming for a long time. But now you have
- 1:45Speaker 1: a lot of people come.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Yes, you get places that are lined up. I feel
- 1:48Speaker 2: like Uber, because when Uber first started it was really affordable.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Yeah you felt like, hey do many people know about
- 1:55Speaker 1: this appening?
- 1:56Speaker 2: Yeah? This is yeah, this is my thing. So airbnbs
- 2:02Speaker 2: yep exploded and destroyed the long term rental market.
- 2:05Speaker 1: These are great examples of people feel were ruined because
- 2:09Speaker 1: too many people discovered almost like it got too popular. Farmers'
- 2:13Speaker 1: markets are on there, We'll get too crowded, they get
- 2:17Speaker 1: too crowded, right, Yeah. I love how somebody wrote the internet.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Just in general.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Yeah, everything on the Internet, but mainly because it's it
- 2:25Speaker 1: becomes so corporate, I guess.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Oh yeah, it's not quite what it used to be.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Every hidden gem that's been discovered by influencers.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Right, Yeah. You know small restaurants that when they first
- 2:37Speaker 1: start off and you think you're the only one that
- 2:39Speaker 1: knows about it, you want them to do well, yeah,
- 2:41Speaker 1: but you don't want them to get too popular and
- 2:43Speaker 1: then something that there's.
- 2:44Speaker 2: A line down the block and yeah, and you can't
- 2:46Speaker 2: coruct you're just talking about yeah exactly. How about conventions
- 2:50Speaker 2: like Comic Con. I used to love to go, like
- 2:51Speaker 2: chiller Fest, and I love that kind of stuff. I
- 2:54Speaker 2: still do.
- 2:55Speaker 1: And you're right, it was always big, Yeah, but I
- 2:58Speaker 1: think some people would see it on tea and go,
- 3:00Speaker 1: oh that's cool, you know, right, but now people everybody goes.
- 3:04Speaker 1: They have to go and.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Be there, so everybody goes.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Yeah, add to the list if you could four four
- 3:10Speaker 1: three sixty three give us a text type in what
- 3:12Speaker 1: you think has been ruined because too many people have
- 3:16Speaker 1: discovered it.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Yeah, it was mine. It used to just be like
- 3:18Speaker 2: rock bands like that was my band top Oh.
- 3:21Speaker 1: I have a question, Like a lot of people get
- 3:23Speaker 1: mad when their bands explode. I know, Like I used
- 3:26Speaker 1: to work in radio, like in the early nineties when
- 3:29Speaker 1: alternative was really blowing up, and I remember playing Nirvana
- 3:32Speaker 1: on the radio and playing The Cure Yeah, and Cure
- 3:37Speaker 1: fans would call the radio station.
- 3:39Speaker 2: You're ruining it, man, Yeah.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Yeah. The same station that plays Boys to Men is
- 3:43Speaker 1: playing The Cure, and the Cure fans would be like,
- 3:45Speaker 1: what are you doing? Man? Like, I'm like, don't you
- 3:48Speaker 1: want your band you do to be successful?
- 3:51Speaker 2: You want them to be yes, you do, but you
- 3:53Speaker 2: also want them to be yours.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Right, all right, we're coming right back.
