- 0:00SPEAKER_01: Welcome to Racers Odds.
- 0:01SPEAKER_01: I'm David Styles.
- 0:02SPEAKER_01: He's Andrew Curland, and we had an epic revitalization at North Wilkesboro Speedway and a dominant performance by Joey Logano as he picks up his first win of the 2026 campaign, leading 323 laps.
- 0:18SPEAKER_01: And I don't know about you, Andrew, but I loved that race, even though he lapped all the way up to sixth place.
- 0:24SPEAKER_01: It was just a great event and a really great weekend at North Wilkes, Bro.
- 0:28SPEAKER_01: You were boots on the ground.
- 0:30SPEAKER_01: What was your impressions as we head out of that weekend and get ready to go to Indianapolis?
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: Six cars in the lead lap.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: I thought it was really cool.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: The word I use is slugfest, and it was just an old school, old-fashioned race, and I was here for it.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: And frankly, Joey Logano, he was just the best car.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: And even Denny Hamlin, who was running in second when I was covering him on Pit Road, said Joey's just really fast.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: So uh I don't know if the whole field really had a whole lot for the 22 car.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: And David, I'm proud because I called the shot on this show one week ago that Joey Logano was possibly my favorite and could go out and win this race.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: And I was feeling pretty good about myself when I saw him take the checkered flag.
- 1:17SPEAKER_01: Well, being the guy that put money on him at the beginning of the year to make a championship run, it's starting to shade a little bit more in my favor with him picking up a win.
- 1:27SPEAKER_01: He had a good run at Echo Park a week ago, and they have a ton of momentum as they get ready to go to Indianapolis Motor Speedway, which is also owned by their team owner, Roger Pinski.
- 1:37SPEAKER_01: So there's a lot moving in the right direction for Team Pinsky, Ryan Blaney, Joey Logano as we get ready to go to the most famous track in North America, the Brickyard.
- 1:49SPEAKER_01: So very excited.
- 1:51SPEAKER_01: This is a crown jewel event, and there's just a lot going into this.
- 1:55SPEAKER_01: And I want to start this conversation off with the woes still of Tyler Reddick that going to pit road, getting clocked by Alex Bowman.
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: It seems that he's still tumbling, and I think Ryan Blaney may have a chance to pass him in the points.
- 2:11SPEAKER_01: But Redick and Bubba Wallace have been pretty good at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
- 2:16SPEAKER_01: What do you think the notebook is for them as we head to this, you know, two-plus mile oval?
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you talk about that notebook.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: It's been great for 23-11.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: Obviously, Bubba Wallace is last year's winner.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: He's led at least 25 laps in the last two Brickyard 400s.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: In 2022, Reddick finished second, Bubba finished fifth.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: So uh the speed is certainly there for the 2311 cars and the Toyotas.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: And uh I know Redick is looking for every single week as the opportunity to maybe be the race to turn things around.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: Um you gotta feel good though, going into indie Redick is the second favorite uh in the sports books to win the race behind Denny Hamlin.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: So the sports books are favoring the Toyotas, I feel like as they should.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: Um but I've got my eyes on the 2311 car, specifically Bubba Wallace.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: Um this is just a racetrack that last year it wasn't a fluke for him to win that race.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: And I know Joey Logano was leading that race when he had a tire go down, and that ultimately gave the lead uh to Bubba on the winning strategy, but still he led laps.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: He had to hold him off, and he's finished top five at Indy the last two years.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: So I like uh Bubba again, once again to win at plus 1200.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: I feel like you can get him at a pretty long odd there.
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: And uh if there's one track where you think that he could get it done, I think it's this week in an indie.
- 3:47SPEAKER_01: I like that.
- 3:47SPEAKER_01: Bubba Wallace has also been very consistent the last handful of races.
- 3:51SPEAKER_01: They're points racing, and he's been in the top 10 a fixture almost all year.
- 3:56SPEAKER_01: They've got a lot of momentum, and the Toyotas have just been really, really good.
- 4:00SPEAKER_01: I like that.
- 4:01SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna go the other direction.
- 4:02SPEAKER_01: I like Joey Logano.
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: I think he has a ton of momentum right now.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: These tracks really stack up well for the Penske cars.
- 4:09SPEAKER_01: I like him to top 10.
- 4:11SPEAKER_01: Like you said, he was leading this race when he had that tire issue last year, ended up finishing 32nd, and that was about with what, eight laps left to go or so in the uh 25-ish.
- 4:23SPEAKER_01: 25-ish, yeah.
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah, towards the end of the race.
- 4:26SPEAKER_01: So I think this momentum will carry on.
- 4:28SPEAKER_01: If you do that, Joey Logano top 10, that's plus 125.
- 4:31SPEAKER_01: I really like that one.
- 4:33SPEAKER_01: And we'll talk about this guy as well, Todd Gilliland, back-to-back years, top six finishes.
- 4:40SPEAKER_01: I like him to top 10.
- 4:41SPEAKER_01: That's plus 475.
- 4:44SPEAKER_01: So some top 10s here and there.
- 4:46SPEAKER_01: I like both of those guys uh to at least be factors Sunday at the brickyard.
- 4:52SPEAKER_01: So top tenning, you know me, that's a little bit more of my speed.
- 4:56SPEAKER_01: Um, we'll talk about this real quick.
- 4:58SPEAKER_01: Had a bad week last week.
- 4:59SPEAKER_01: North Wilkesboro was not kind to me in the bet department.
- 5:03SPEAKER_01: I did not hit the two-leg parlay.
- 5:05SPEAKER_01: Both of my matchups for the in-season challenge uh didn't work out.
- 5:09SPEAKER_01: And so we only hit two out of the six.
- 5:11SPEAKER_01: I hit Priest with a top 10, and I hit uh Bubba Wallace over Chris Busher for a uh minus 115 win, but I'm still trending in the right direction on the bankroll.
- 5:23SPEAKER_01: We're still positive, close to 200-ish dollars so it may be from the haircut.
- 5:28SPEAKER_01: I got my haircut, and then all of a sudden we we we don't win the bets that we should win, and Chase Elliott and everyone gets trapped a lap down, and that's just how it goes at North Wilkesboro.
- 5:38SPEAKER_01: So we're looking to capitalize this week and move that in the right direction.
- 5:42SPEAKER_01: So I think both of those top ten bets are pretty solid.
- 5:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I agree.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: And you mentioned Todd Gilland, he is in the finals of this in-season tournament against uh Ryan Blaney, plus 230 for Todd Gillan to win the$1 million over Ryan Blaney.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: I'm I'm rooting for an underdog and talked to Todd yesterday on Sirius XM with Brad Gilley, and he uh he feels good about his chances.
- 6:09SPEAKER_00: Obviously, uh million dollars is a big motivating factor, and he left it open-ended.
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: He said, might get crazy.
- 6:17SPEAKER_00: You never know what you're gonna see until you see it.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: So I think he almost answered the question of, well, how far were you willing to go to win one million dollars?
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: And I think uh if it comes down to Gilland and Ryan Blaney at the end of that race, you could see something pretty crazy out of both of them, knowing that uh that is a lot of money on the line.
- 6:38SPEAKER_01: And what a cool nickname, the Todd Father.
- 6:41SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's just such a great nickname.
- 6:43SPEAKER_01: If you do the matchup, Blaney's minus 320, Todd Gillillan plus 200.
- 6:48SPEAKER_01: If you do the end season challenge just straight up to win it, you've like Andrew said, it's plus 230.
- 6:53SPEAKER_01: So either way you go there, there's good plus money.
- 6:56SPEAKER_01: I'm actually going to put the money on Todd Gilliland at plus 230.
- 7:00SPEAKER_01: I think I like that a little bit better than Ryan Blaney.
- 7:03SPEAKER_01: Um, I think Ryan Blaney will be good, but um I think Gilliland is after that$1 million, and he's he's pretty decent at this track.
- 7:12SPEAKER_01: So if I'm going to top 10 him at plus 475, I might as well pick him in the end season challenge and risk it for the biscuit a little bit at the plus 230 line.
- 7:21SPEAKER_01: So that's another one of my bets this week.
- 7:23SPEAKER_01: Um, really the last one that I have as far as the matchups go, because you guys know I'm a big matchup guy.
- 7:29SPEAKER_01: Chase Briscoe versus Tyler Reddick.
- 7:32SPEAKER_01: Tyler Reddick's favorite in this one, minus 155.
- 7:35SPEAKER_01: Chase Briscoe plus 125.
- 7:38SPEAKER_01: Chase Briscoe, I like him.
- 7:40SPEAKER_01: They've got momentum.
- 7:41SPEAKER_01: He's in the JGR Toyota.
- 7:43SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna put money on him at plus 125.
- 7:46SPEAKER_01: I just feel like Reddick is spiraling a little bit, and they've had a series of you know, catastrophes just back to back to back, and we've seen him, you know, plummeting back to earth, so to say.
- 7:58SPEAKER_01: I've said it on a couple of different shows.
- 8:00SPEAKER_01: I think they're in trouble, and I think he's in his head.
- 8:02SPEAKER_01: So I'm gonna take Briscoe over Reddick in that matchup.
- 8:04SPEAKER_01: Andrew, what are your thoughts?
- 8:06SPEAKER_00: Not to mention Chase Briscoe is an Indiana native, and he recently said, I'd get up, I'd give up every single win that I have if I could get a Brickyard 400 win.
- 8:19SPEAKER_00: That's motivation right there.
- 8:21SPEAKER_00: And Hoosers are built differently.
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: The pride that you have being from Indiana, uh, I know is something that every single driver with that state flag carries very proudly.
- 8:34SPEAKER_00: And uh, he's won here in O'Reilly on the road course, not yet on the oval.
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: This could possibly be the year for Chase Briscoe.
- 8:41SPEAKER_00: Um, I thought that that took me by surprise when he said it.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: That he's like, this is the most important win that I could be going for in my career, and that is a big deal.
- 8:51SPEAKER_00: You want this race to mean something big.
- 8:53SPEAKER_00: It's a crown jewel.
- 8:54SPEAKER_00: And speaking of that, Denny Hamlin has never won this crown jewel race.
- 8:58SPEAKER_00: It's the only one that he's missing.
- 9:01SPEAKER_00: He's got seven crown jewels to his name.
- 9:03SPEAKER_00: He's got obviously Daytona 500s, a Southern 500 to his name.
- 9:08SPEAKER_00: Um I'm missing the other crown jewel.
- 9:11SPEAKER_00: What's the other one that he's got a Coca-Cola 600?
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: Coca-Cola 600.
- 9:15SPEAKER_00: Thank you so much.
- 9:16SPEAKER_00: Um, and so yeah, this is the last one that he has.
- 9:20SPEAKER_00: The sports books are favoring him heavy.
- 9:22SPEAKER_00: I I don't know.
- 9:23SPEAKER_00: I feel like there's enough other players that I could see a likely path that Hamlin doesn't necessarily win this race.
- 9:32SPEAKER_01: I like that as well.
- 9:34SPEAKER_01: Um, I've I just looked on my sheet.
- 9:36SPEAKER_01: I've got one more matchup, sorry, so excuse me.
- 9:38SPEAKER_01: This is Logano versus Byron.
- 9:41SPEAKER_01: Byron is favored in this.
- 9:42SPEAKER_01: I don't understand these metrics.
- 9:44SPEAKER_01: I feel like he Byron has been either hot or cold, and when he's cold, he's finishing in the 30s or crashing.
- 9:51SPEAKER_01: And Logano is plus 125 in this matchup.
- 9:55SPEAKER_01: We all see what's going on here with these matchups.
- 9:57SPEAKER_01: I'm going to favor Logano on the plus money on that side of the matchup at plus 125.
- 10:02SPEAKER_01: And um I think that's about it for all of my bets, other than a Christopher Bell win.
- 10:08SPEAKER_01: I think that it is doable.
- 10:09SPEAKER_01: I've been Christopher Bell, he's on this five second place, five runner-up finishes.
- 10:15SPEAKER_01: That's the most since Kyle Larson in 2018.
- 10:18SPEAKER_01: He's trending in the right direction.
- 10:20SPEAKER_01: I think if they would not have had the break problems at North Wilkesboro, he would have been a factor.
- 10:25SPEAKER_01: And then that wreck with Reddick and Bowman trapped them a lap down, and they just could not get back on the lead lap.
- 10:31SPEAKER_01: So he's coming.
- 10:32SPEAKER_01: He's really hot right now, and he's pretty good at Indy too.
- 10:37SPEAKER_01: It's his, I think it's the best average finish out of all the tracks that he races on, he has the best average finish at this racetrack.
- 10:44SPEAKER_01: So I think a Christopher Bell win at plus 900, put a little bit of soda, coffee money on that one, you know, a few units, and uh see what happens.
- 10:51SPEAKER_01: It's plus 900 there on Caesars.
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: He finished eighth in Indy last year, fourth the year before.
- 10:57SPEAKER_00: But yeah, David, as you said, on paper, this is one of Bell's better racetracks.
- 11:01SPEAKER_00: The last one that I have, it's one of the captain's drivers.
- 11:05SPEAKER_00: It's not Joey Logano, and it's not Ryan Blaney, but Austin Cindrick, uh, you can't forget that he led 40 laps in this race last year.
- 11:16SPEAKER_00: And leading laps at the brickyard is not to be taken lightly.
- 11:20SPEAKER_00: He's had two top 15 finishes in both of his Oval starts as well.
- 11:25SPEAKER_00: And obviously, you want to do well at the captain's home racetrack.
- 11:30SPEAKER_00: Laps led to me, that's big.
- 11:31SPEAKER_00: I've got an Austin Sindrick top 10 in the cards.
- 11:34SPEAKER_00: That's my last one.
- 11:36SPEAKER_01: I like that a lot.
- 11:37SPEAKER_01: So um we'll transition now into Pick'em.
- 11:40SPEAKER_01: That's about all we have on the bet slip.
- 11:42SPEAKER_01: And um, my morale is really low.
- 11:44SPEAKER_01: I this this Pick'em game has not been kind to me.
- 11:47SPEAKER_01: And I'm riding high.
- 11:48SPEAKER_01: I picked Joey Logano, man.
- 11:50SPEAKER_01: Waxing me.
- 11:51SPEAKER_01: He got 73 points last week with that Joey Logano pick.
- 11:54SPEAKER_01: Um I'm I'm on the long strategy.
- 11:57SPEAKER_01: I took Noah Gregson.
- 11:59SPEAKER_01: 12 points.
- 12:00SPEAKER_01: That's not bad for Noah in the four car.
- 12:03SPEAKER_01: I I'll take 12 points, but I'm still down 210 points.
- 12:07SPEAKER_01: So if you if you want the totals, Andrew has 605, and I'm at 395.
- 12:13SPEAKER_01: So he he's got a when you look at those two numbers, it that's a pretty big lead.
- 12:18SPEAKER_01: So um, do I get to pick first this week since I did so poorly and you did so well?
- 12:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 12:25SPEAKER_01: So um I'm gonna I'm gonna pick a guy you just mentioned.
- 12:29SPEAKER_01: I like Austin Cindrick and the two team.
- 12:31SPEAKER_01: I think they'll be really, really solid, and uh, that's who I'm gonna pick this week.
- 12:35SPEAKER_01: So that'll stay within my strategy, and I'm still gonna hold on to my bigger names for the end of the season.
- 12:41SPEAKER_01: So give me the two car.
- 12:43SPEAKER_00: All right, I'll give you Austin Cindrick, and uh I was I that that was my backup.
- 12:48SPEAKER_00: I was really worried you were about to say the driver that I'm gonna pick.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: And if you can only pick him at one race, you might as well pick the defending winner.
- 12:57SPEAKER_00: Give me Bubba Wallace to go back to back at the brickyard.
- 13:00SPEAKER_01: I like it.
- 13:01SPEAKER_01: Bubba's really like we said a few minutes ago, Bubba Wallace is really, really good here, and those 23-11 cars I think will be pretty solid.
- 13:08SPEAKER_01: Um, I'm just fading Chase Briscoe over Tyler Reddick.
- 13:12SPEAKER_01: I think that he'll just finish better than him, and that's that's the you know, the pure advantage of the matchup.
- 13:18SPEAKER_01: It's just 1v1.
- 13:19SPEAKER_01: So that's really what we've shorted this week.
- 13:21SPEAKER_01: I'm excited for Indy.
- 13:23SPEAKER_01: It's a great venue, another crown jewel of uh NASCAR racing and just racing in general.
- 13:28SPEAKER_01: So it's exciting.
- 13:30SPEAKER_01: Um tune in this weekend.
- 13:31SPEAKER_01: It'll be a co-produced show on the radio between the IMS Radio Network and PRN.
- 13:37SPEAKER_01: So you hear Brad Gilly and Nick Yeoman and Brett McMillan and then Mark Janes and Michael Young and Jason Toy and Rich Nye, a whole bunch of really great broadcasters will be on that radio broadcast.
- 13:49SPEAKER_01: Um I think uh Chris Wilner from MRN will be on there as well.
- 13:53SPEAKER_01: So it'll be a really, really good show, and it's a fabulous track to watch a race at.
- 13:58SPEAKER_01: So I'm really excited for it.
- 13:59SPEAKER_01: Andrew, any closing thoughts here?
- 14:01SPEAKER_00: I uh I'm jealous of all of them.
- 14:03SPEAKER_00: Indy is a really special cathedral when it comes to motorsports, and I know they're all gonna do uh a crown jewel race like the Brickyard 400, a lot of justice.
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: So I'm excited to see it.
- 14:16SPEAKER_00: This will be my first race in uh four or five weeks that I'm watching from home.
- 14:23SPEAKER_00: So I'm actually looking forward to changing up my race day routine, slowing down the process just a little bit, and uh, you know, we'll be back at the racetrack before we know it.
- 14:34SPEAKER_00: But I'm I'm looking forward to just being a fan this weekend and and really enjoying a Brickyard 400.
- 14:39SPEAKER_01: Well, thanks for stopping by Racers Odds.
- 14:41SPEAKER_01: It's all about injecting a little bit of insight excitement into your race weekend uh outside of following your favorite drivers, and we're not here to hit that big parlay or you know, make a bunch of money fast.
- 14:52SPEAKER_01: It's about growing that bankroll and making this more of an investment uh style game for you.
- 14:58SPEAKER_01: So we've been doing pretty well.
- 15:01SPEAKER_01: Both of us are up about$200 on our bankroll.
- 15:03SPEAKER_01: So if you've been playing along, you're doing pretty well also.
- 15:08SPEAKER_01: So we'll have a recap of Indy next week, and then we'll have a week off and we'll get ready to go to Iowa after that.
- 15:15SPEAKER_01: So thanks for tuning in, Racers Odds for Andrew Curland.
- 15:18SPEAKER_01: I'm David Stiles.
