- 0:01And you are about to get a Holy Ghost-filled download on Godly Hacks today.
- 0:06This is a show where God takes something that you've been doing for so long
- 0:10wrong, and hacks right in that mess, gets that toxic crap out, and helps you in life.
- 0:15So join me today for Bible verses, some laughter, some quick hacks,
- 0:19because come on now, you're busy and I'm busy.
- 0:21Let's get it with God today. He's going to show you something powerful.
- 0:24My name is Lisa Hanson. You can learn more about me on PreachAtLisa.com. Here we go.
- 0:30All right, I've got something really serious today, but this is really going
- 0:35to change your life because today I am going to talk to you about how to lust-proof your life.
- 0:41Come on, you might think, well, I don't know. I kind of like,
- 0:44oh, you're going to want to lust-proof how to stay free from sexual sin,
- 0:48traps, temptations, and secret sin.
- 0:51This is a godly hack. It's a very simple way to guard and protect your life
- 0:56from lust, from going after other people that are not your husband or your wife.
- 1:01If you're a single Christian, it's a way that you can stop sinning and whatever.
- 1:05It's very simple. It's not hard. And let me just start by saying,
- 1:09because there's a lot of stuff being exposed, depends on when you're watching
- 1:12this, but people are falling like dominoes. But you know something?
- 1:15That's nothing new. The devil knows people have desire.
- 1:18You know, the sin is conceived the same way. I saw it. I want it.
- 1:22I took it. That's what Eve did, right? She saw the apple. She saw it.
- 1:25The devil showed it to her, but she saw it. she wanted it and she took it.
- 1:30So don't do that. You can't take what's not yours.
- 1:33You'll mess up your whole life. You'll mess up your family, your marriage.
- 1:37If you're a minister, you'll mess up your ministry.
- 1:39And so there's one way, really, I have so many things I want to share and I'm
- 1:44going to talk fast as you know, it's a hack. So it's only 15 minutes.
- 1:47But the main thing I want to say is the first thing you should say is God, give me a clean heart.
- 1:55You know, there's David said that created me, God, a clean heart.
- 1:58I've noticed myself, I've become a lot more sensitive lately.
- 2:01I've already been sensitive to the word of the Lord, but I'm feeling even more
- 2:05so, you know, there's a lot of people on the internet and they're,
- 2:09you know, the Muslim religion and stuff.
- 2:11I can't stand it. I can't stand it because it's abusive to girls.
- 2:14I can't stand it because it's abusive to women. And I was scrolling my TikTok,
- 2:19or I'm sorry, my ex, which I wish I wouldn't.
- 2:22And there was a little girl, she was 12 and her father was like spanking her
- 2:25with something, but he was over in Iran. And I'm telling you,
- 2:28I got so furious, but it was like I was sick to my stomach.
- 2:31And so you can become really sensitive if you ask God, God, give me a clean heart.
- 2:36You know, I said something in preaching, like my upbringing was rough.
- 2:39You know, my dad was not cool. He was an alcoholic and I didn't have a lot of
- 2:43support as a little girl.
- 2:44And sometimes, you know, I've had to deal with feelings of resentment towards parents or whatever.
- 2:49And, you know, sometimes in preaching, you kind of let those stories out.
- 2:52Well, I've got family that's in my church. And so what do you think happens
- 2:54when I kind of say how crappy it was growing up and the family's just looking at me?
- 2:58And all of a sudden I got real sensitive. And I felt the Lord say, you need to repent.
- 3:02I was like, well, I didn't do anything wrong, but I just wasn't sensitive to them.
- 3:08So you can ask God, give me a clean heart.
- 3:12So this is how you stay free from sexual traps, temptations,
- 3:16and secret sin, all right? I wanna tell you something.
- 3:20Nobody wakes up in the morning and says, hey, I'm gonna ruin my marriage,
- 3:23my ministry, my destiny.
- 3:25It doesn't start in the bed. It starts in the mind. It doesn't start in the
- 3:30office with lunches and dinners or in the ministry with someone you're not,
- 3:33but it starts in the brain.
- 3:35And so you have to watch your mind. Now in the prodigal son,
- 3:40it's one of the most powerful stories in the Bible, Luke 15, 17 through 18.
- 3:45I wanna share this with you right now. There's a lot of leaders that are falling
- 3:49and they're gonna keep falling. As long as they sin, they'll continue to fall.
- 3:53But can I tell you in my heart, I know that God, that ministry is important. What is ministry?
- 3:59It's helping other people. It's what I'm doing with you today.
- 4:02And I noticed, by the way, we've got some listeners in Germany.
- 4:05If you happen to be listening to me and you're in Germany, will you send me
- 4:09a message on my website, preach at lisa.com and email me? I'd love to hear from you.
- 4:14That excites me. But I hope that this is going to help someone with what I'm
- 4:18sharing today. But let me tell you something.
- 4:21God, if you're a preacher—,
- 4:23God loves the ministry. I mean, he loves helping people, but you know what he
- 4:27loves more than the ministry? You.
- 4:28And so if you're a leader and you fall, he's not trying to get you back up in
- 4:32the pulpit right away. That's just something you're trying to do.
- 4:35He's trying to heal your heart and help you so you don't do that crap again.
- 4:40So in the prodigal son, Luke 15, 17, it said, when he came to himself,
- 4:46he said, how many of my dad's hired servants, my fathers have bread enough to
- 4:51spare and I perish with hunger.
- 4:53I will rise up and go to my father.
- 4:58And I will say, father, I have sinned.
- 5:02The key phrase, there's two key phrases. One, when he came to himself.
- 5:06And two, I have sinned. So we see that sexual sin always starts when you leave yourself.
- 5:12You're not thinking about your wife, nothing. It's just like,
- 5:15well, I'm gonna go do this.
- 5:17But notice when he came to himself, he didn't blame other people.
- 5:21He didn't say, Hey dad, if you wouldn't give me all this money,
- 5:23I couldn't have done all these bad things.
- 5:25He said, I have sinned. He didn't justify it.
- 5:28Well, you know, you shouldn't give me the money. Cause I, you know, he said, I have sinned.
- 5:33The number one way to keep yourself pure against lust and sexual sin is number one.
- 5:38If you know, you've got a lust problem with whatever it is, you need to go to God and say, father.
- 5:44I have sent, I need help before it crosses the line. Go to someone, be accountable.
- 5:48Go call someone that you're afraid of. Don't call your buddy that's just gonna
- 5:53elbow you and say, yeah, me too, dude.
- 5:56That's not gonna help. Don't call your girlfriend that's gonna be like,
- 5:58hey chick, you know, sometimes, no.
- 6:01Go to somebody that would terrify you to tell them. That's how you know you're accountable.
- 6:07Accountability is not, I'm telling my buddy. And there's no,
- 6:11it's somebody that I am very afraid to tell.
- 6:14You know, and I said this story on my other, you can go to YouTube and check
- 6:17out my live videos, but I was on YouTube talking about, you know,
- 6:2020 plus years ago before I was in ministry, I didn't always live right.
- 6:24And I had to tell my pastor, cause I was on the, but I was in the choir and all that stuff.
- 6:28And there was a contract, like if you were doing bad stuff, you don't.
- 6:31So a lot of people just did bad stuff and never told the pastors.
- 6:34Well, I didn't, I couldn't live like that.
- 6:38So I went to my pastor and I told her like,
- 6:42Hey, you know, I did this thing. It was a sexual thing. I was with someone when
- 6:45I shouldn't have been because I didn't grow up in the church. I grew up in the world.
- 6:48And again, this was before ministry back in my early twenties.
- 6:52And I'm like double that age now, just FYI. And so I told my pastor,
- 6:57I'm like, I'm so sorry. Like I shouldn't.
- 6:59And guess what? She plucked me right off the platform and three months sitting
- 7:03down, which meant everyone knew I screwed up.
- 7:05They didn't know what I did, but they all knew I screwed up and I had to sit down.
- 7:08Well, guess what? it was very hard for me to tell her that.
- 7:11But all I cared about, all that mattered to me was that my heart was right before God.
- 7:18I didn't care if they looked at me funny. I didn't care if I was embarrassed.
- 7:23I didn't care how ashamed I was to tell her. I just wanted to be free.
- 7:28And the way to guard your life from lust and sexual sin is you have to want
- 7:33freedom more than you care about your reputation.
- 7:37You have to want freedom more than you care about being ashamed to tell somebody.
- 7:42My pastor gave me some good advice. I'm going to pass it down to you.
- 7:45She said, Lisa, the flesh hates to be humiliated.
- 7:50In other words, your flesh, what did Eve do? When Adam and Eve sinned, they did what?
- 7:54They hid. Exactly. So when you do something wrong, the first instinct is to
- 7:59hide, and that's not going to help you.
- 8:01So when in 1 John 1, 9, the Bible tells you what to do if you got a problem.
- 8:07If you confess your sin, he's faithful and just to forgive you and cleanse you
- 8:12of all unrighteousness.
- 8:15Or I like to say unrightness.
- 8:17That ain't right what you're doing. That doesn't mean you tell everybody.
- 8:20It means you go to someone who is high up in God, who you trust,
- 8:24who will correct you, hold you accountable and say, hey, I've made a mistake.
- 8:29Or, you know, you can, if it's something you did with a church, whatever.
- 8:32You can just tell God. But if this is something you know you're going to struggle
- 8:35with and you're going to do it again, you need to go to someone and be accountable
- 8:39to them and say, look, I'm coming to you because I got a problem with this.
- 8:42And anytime I do this again, I'm going to tell you.
- 8:46And because you're ashamed to tell them, it'll help you to stop doing it,
- 8:49if that makes sense. All right.
- 8:51So here is the first godly hack. You got to call this mess what it is.
- 8:58God calls it sin. God calls it unrighteousness. You can't justify it.
- 9:03I didn't mean to. Nope. If it's lust, if it's a problem, it's a mess.
- 9:06You got to get all this unrightness out of you. All right. You got to confess it and get it out.
- 9:11Your godly hack number two, flee. Don't fight.
- 9:16In 1 Corinthians 6.18, flee fornication.
- 9:21Every sin that a man does is without the body, but he that commits fornication
- 9:27or sex with someone you're not married to sins against your own body.
- 9:32It doesn't say counsel it, wrestle it, negotiate it. Well, you know,
- 9:36my husband was an act and rights. No. Well, no.
- 9:40And you know, in the Bible and the Old Testament, I know I'm talking fast.
- 9:43I hope you guys are okay. I'm a fast talker.
- 9:47Just slow it down. If I'm talking too fast for you, just slow the speed down on the thing.
- 9:51In the Bible, you know, Joseph was in Potiphar's house and he didn't do anything wrong.
- 9:56But when Potiphar's wife tried to grab him, Joseph didn't say,
- 9:58man, it's been a long time since I've had sex. I really could, no.
- 10:02When that chick grabbed him, he ran right up out of his coat.
- 10:06And sadly she kept his coat. He got falsely accused, but he said,
- 10:10I'm not gonna sin against God.
- 10:12And if you want to abstain lust and sex and all that stuff that's not right,
- 10:17It's right when you're married, but it's not right if the other stuff and all
- 10:20these preachers are, whatever. I don't even know what they're doing,
- 10:24but don't do that stuff. You're going to wreck your whole life, bud.
- 10:28Run from it. Run from it. Run from it. Just run. Let me tell you something that
- 10:33I don't do as a woman of God and as a preacher.
- 10:36I don't talk to men secretly in my inbox. I don't let men call me. I don't let men text me.
- 10:41I don't go out to lunch with men. I don't do any of that.
- 10:46I'm a pastor, but guess what? If there's a man in my church that has any problems,
- 10:50guess who he talks to? My husband.
- 10:52I don't talk to him. Not about to talk to him because it's not right.
- 10:57I don't want to hear all their problems anyway. I don't really want to hear
- 11:00anyone's problems. I'd rather just preach from the pulpit and be done.
- 11:03All right. Joseph ran. David stayed on the rooftop.
- 11:08That's the difference. Do you want to be a Joseph or do you want to be of David.
- 11:12Joseph ran his butt up out of there. David stayed on the rooftop.
- 11:16David saw, he saw Bathsheba.
- 11:19He wanted Bathsheba and he took her and it wrecked his life and he lost his
- 11:23kid. Did God do that to him?
- 11:25Nope. But a hand of protection was lifted off of David and that sin came for
- 11:28his child. It's horrible.
- 11:30So you can be Joseph or you can be David. And if you're a lady,
- 11:34pick two people, but you can't be both. So you don't pray harder in the temptation.
- 11:38You just got to get out of the room. You don't stay on the rooftop and pray
- 11:43harder. You get off the fudging rooftop.
- 11:47Run, baby. Run, run, run. Get off. Get out.
- 11:51Whatever. Look, if you're at work, and this might be hard for someone to hear,
- 11:55but maybe someone's listening, and this is exactly what you need to hear.
- 11:58If you're at a job, and you see the same chick every day, and you are feeling
- 12:03a huge pull to this woman, and maybe your wife has popped out your three kids
- 12:08or whatever, and she doesn't look as hot as this 20-year-old,
- 12:10and the 20-year-old's nice to you because your wife knows how crappy you can be sometimes,
- 12:14and so she's frustrated with you, and it's just real life, baby.
- 12:17It's your house, but this chick is pretty and young and smiling and all that mess, you better run.
- 12:23And if you can't, you, you probably need to get a different job.
- 12:27And if you can't control yourself, you surely do not be alone with the,
- 12:31with the young chick, like a never, a never, never.
- 12:34Cause if you don't, let me tell you what's going to happen to you.
- 12:37You will end up being with her. You will end up lying to your wife.
- 12:41Women always find out. We're not idiots. We will find out. She will find out.
- 12:45She'll take half your money. she'll take your kids and then
- 12:48there you'll be and that young chick she's not going to want you and you'll
- 12:51be some middle-aged dude freaking alone you won't
- 12:54have your family you won't have your wife you won't have your money and you'll
- 12:58be miserable for for one hot date with a cha-cha because you couldn't control
- 13:02yourself so don't be a david be a joseph and run my friend run don't do that
- 13:07all right godly hack three there's always an exit whoo this is the best part
- 13:11how am I doing on my time? Not so bad.
- 13:13Godly hack three, there's an exit. First Corinthians 10, 13.
- 13:17There's no temptation taken you, but such as common to man.
- 13:20God is faithful with a temptation. He makes a way out. Number one,
- 13:26that temptation did not come from God. He's not tempting you.
- 13:29Number two, the devil can tempt you, but he cannot make, oh,
- 13:32the devil and the devil came after me. Oh, please shut your mouth.
- 13:35You, you wanted it. And that's why you're going after it.
- 13:39I need to try to be nicer to you. I'm not trying to be rude to you.
- 13:42I hope you're still listening to me.
- 13:44I'm not trying to be rude to you. I swear I'm not trying to.
- 13:47I am trying to rescue your life.
- 13:51I am trying to help you. I am trying to protect you.
- 13:55I know you think you want that thing, but the end of that thing is death and destruction.
- 14:00And if you're a father with children, or maybe you're a mother and you've got
- 14:04teenage kids and your husband isn't acting right, you got your eyeball on someone
- 14:08else, Baby, your kids are gonna hate you after that.
- 14:12Father, your children will hate you after that. Don't do these things.
- 14:15It brings nothing but destruction.
- 14:19There's no temptation that God doesn't provide a way out.
- 14:22There is always a way out. This is why I don't like this whole thing,
- 14:24I fell into a lustful sin. No, you didn't. You walked into it.
- 14:27If you're dealing with lust, ask God to give you a clean heart.
- 14:30Don't keep looking at the thing that causes lust. You gotta run, all right?
- 14:34There's always a way out. Delete that phone number. How about don't even take
- 14:37the phone number? I don't have any phone numbers for guys trying to hit on me.
- 14:40Delete the number. Get off the app. Don't travel alone. Don't DM privately.
- 14:45Don't drink yourself loose.
- 14:47You know, there's someone I knew once and they worked for this company.
- 14:51And I freaking hate these companies sometimes because they always have these
- 14:54fun outings and they call them a team building thing.
- 14:58And only the employees go. They don't bring the spouses.
- 15:01So there's the employees with all these hot chicks from work or hot dudes from
- 15:05work or whatever, and they're all drinking and eating and laughing and having fun.
- 15:10Well, what do you think is going to happen when your husband or wife is at home
- 15:13cleaning the house, doing the dishes, whatever, and you're just out partying
- 15:17and having fun with someone of the opposite sex? That's how affairs happen.
- 15:21It's stupid. I hate that crap. So don't be drinking around people and get loose.
- 15:26That's how bad things happen.
- 15:28Starve the lust, feed your spirit. All right, I got to end this real quick,
- 15:32but walk in the spirit and you won't fulfill the lust of the flesh.
- 15:36That's what the Bible says in Galatians 5.16.
- 15:39You don't overcome lust by thinking about it all the time.
- 15:42You overcome lust by feeding your spirit. If you're feeling lustful,
- 15:47you've been looking at something too long, you've been listening to something
- 15:49too long, you've been hanging with someone too long or whatever,
- 15:52you have to overcome lust by feeding your spirit. How do you do that?
- 15:55Well, you listen to stuff like
- 15:57this. And you're like, crap, this is a warning. You read the word of God.
- 16:01The word of God is life to those who find it and health to their flesh. You pray.
- 16:04You should fast. I know a lot of preachers tell you not to fast.
- 16:07They're idiots. You need to fast because your flesh is out of control.
- 16:10And the strongest desire you have is food. And if you can starve your flesh
- 16:14and say, no, you're not getting food.
- 16:15Then when that flesh is like, I want that guy. I want that guy.
- 16:18No, no, you're not getting that. You're not telling me what to do.
- 16:21You don't let your body tell you what to do.
- 16:24You worship and you have accountability. If you know you've got a problem,
- 16:28you better start telling somebody.
- 16:31Run from that stuff. All right. Godly hack number five, guard your eyes.
- 16:35In the book of Job, Job 311, I made a covenant with my eyes.
- 16:38Why then should I think upon a maid?
- 16:43He made a covenant with his eyes. Lust comes through the eye gates.
- 16:46I want it. I saw it. I want it. I take it. Don't do that.
- 16:53Don't browse privately. Don't have secret passwords. Don't be up late at night talking to people.
- 16:59Right? We're almost done. Sexual sins are different. 1 Corinthians 6, 19 through 20.
- 17:04Know you not that your body is a temple of the Holy Ghost, for you are bought with a price.
- 17:09Therefore, glorify God in your body and your spirit. Sexual sin is not casual, my friend.
- 17:13It's covenant level damage, and it's bad. Why do leaders fall? Why do preachers fall?
- 17:20Well, the Bible says in James 1, 14, every man is tempted when he's drawn away
- 17:25by his own lust and enticed.
- 17:27The devil didn't make you do it. You did because you wanted it.
- 17:30So don't do it. It's not an accident. You didn't.
- 17:33So how do we lust proof? Let me sum it up. Here's the review.
- 17:37I'm going to pray for you.
- 17:38Never counsel someone to the opposite sex. If you're in the workplace,
- 17:41that means don't sit there and listen to their problems. You don't have any
- 17:43business doing that. Don't do that.
- 17:45Public settings only. Accountability.
- 17:48Transparency. No alcohol to compromise yourself. Protect your travel boundaries.
- 17:53Delete temptations immediately.
- 17:55Fast regularly. Stay planted in a church.
- 17:58That's how you lust proof your life before temptation hits.
- 18:02I'm telling you right now that if you will do that, God will bless you.
- 18:06God is not shocked by your weakness.
- 18:08He is waiting for you to return to him. The Bible says in Psalm 103,
- 18:12as far as the East is from the West, he's removed your sin.
- 18:15You are not a mistake. God loves you.
- 18:17Don't wait until you're in the pig pen to turn around. Lust proof your life
- 18:21today. Come on, that guy, the prodigal son was in the pig pen.
- 18:24You don't need to roll with the pigs. Come on, let's get out now.
- 18:27So if you're listening to me, you know you've got lust in your life.
- 18:30You know there's a sin and you know you need to get out of it.
- 18:33Let's repent now together.
- 18:35Come on, say, Father, forgive me of this lust. I've been flirting with that
- 18:39person. God, forgive me. I repent.
- 18:42Now, say this, create in me, God, a clean heart.
- 18:46Help me to walk right and to do right. I don't want to sin against you or my family in Jesus' name.
- 18:54And if you're watching me now, and you don't even know Jesus,
- 18:57by some miracle you got this podcast, come on, the first thing you got to do
- 19:00to lust-proof your life is put the one in there who can help you.
- 19:03The Bible says that it's appointed once for man to die, and after that,
- 19:06the judgment, we are all going to die one day and face judgment.
- 19:09I don't want you to face judgment. Jesus came to set you free from all this
- 19:13mess, but you have to believe that he's the son of God, that he died on a cross
- 19:17for you, that he took away your sin. So how do you do that?
- 19:21You say this with me. Say, Father, I am sorry.
- 19:25I'm a sinner. I made mistakes.
- 19:28Jesus, I believe that you are,
