- 0:00Hello, everybody and the land down under. This is Kurt Diamer. It's
- 0:04my pleasure to be here and be sure you check out my new single Doom
- 0:10streaming everywhere. Came out August eleventh. Call your local radio have them play
- 0:14it. And I can't wait to get to Australia to rock out for all
- 0:18of you. And I have two movies coming out here in the twenty twenty
- 0:24fourth Scared to Death starring me Lynn Shay and Bill Moseley, and then Hell
- 0:29Billy Hollow. That's my horror franchise that I starre in. So it's very
- 0:34nice to be here. Thank you for having me. Chris, my pleasure,
- 0:37Curt, thanks for joining us. Brother as you say, man,
- 0:41you really ys man. You released is seeing good game back on augusty eleven
- 0:45mites so she's been out for a couple of months now, so hasn't been
- 0:48received. It's doing well everywhere. We're getting radio play around the States.
- 0:53I don't know about other countries. We're playing it live in concert. It's
- 0:57also featured in my movie Heavily Hollow and epic final scene of that movie.
- 1:02So and that's why I originally had written the song and it's just a slammerman,
- 1:07and it's just bringing rock and roll to the world the way I do
- 1:11it, and hopefully everybody sees it doesn't sound like everything else and it's the
- 1:17Kurt Dimer away, so they can you dive into it a bit deeper musically,
- 1:23mate, Like, what were you gone for musically with it? Well,
- 1:26we needed a good epic song for the final scene of hell Billy Hollow,
- 1:32and I wrote the song originally, you know, for the movie.
- 1:37That's that's what inspired it. And you can have a lot of doom in
- 1:42a horror type movie that's scary and a lot of scenarios that create that doom
- 1:48feeling. But I also write to try to help people realize other things that
- 1:53are going on in the world and things I've been through in my life.
- 1:57And I wanted to also point out that, you know, drug abuse,
- 2:00whether it's heroin or cocaine or any drug of choice, pills, whatever,
- 2:07can also create doom in one's life. So I wanted to intertwine real life
- 2:12and the dooms that you could experience on a day to day basis along with
- 2:17the doom you could feel from a horror movie. So that's what inspired me
- 2:22to write the lyrics that I did and create the video that I did that
- 2:25you can check out on YouTube. Is because not only is it a fitting
- 2:30song for the movie itself being horror in the last scene of the movie and
- 2:35we play the whole song, but I wanted to bring awareness to the fact
- 2:39that a lot of us are facing doom in everyday life from drug addiction.
- 2:44And you mentioned that the song is for the final scene from the movie Hell
- 2:47Hell, Billy Holloy, mit, So how does it actually fit into the
- 2:50storyline. It's, you know, kind of like one of my favorite horror
- 2:53movies is The Devil's Rejects by Rob's one and they put Freebird in at the
- 2:59end, you know, when they're get a shot at in the car,
- 3:01which was an epic scene to me, and I want to we're kind of
- 3:05walking away in this final scene and it's a very doom scene, if you
- 3:09will. So I just instead of using somebody else's music being an artist and
- 3:15touring all over the country and soon all over the world, I wanted to
- 3:20share one of my songs that I wrote that could make an impact on people's
- 3:27lives instead of just taking one that people had already heard. So That's why
- 3:32I thought it would be a great way to parlay you know, my music
- 3:37along with my creative side and movies as well, and it just seemed very
- 3:42fitting. Did you write music for the whole soundtrack? Might? Is it
- 3:46just that one song on that? Yeah? On the soundtrack, there'll be
- 3:49a couple of songs by a band called The Why Store I'm good friends with
- 3:53Chris, and then there's one song by Drowning Pool, and then all the
- 3:55rest of the songs in the movie are Kurt Dimer song was that you could
- 4:00find on my EP work hard Rock Card or anywhere you stream music, some
- 4:05of the singles from there, and a couple that were never released until the
- 4:10movie. So it's mostly Kurr Dimer songs that you can find and stream anywhere
- 4:15you stream music, and then some new ones and it's going to be a
- 4:19great soundtrack. It's it's rockin' man. And then my movie Scared to Death
- 4:24that I just shot, that'll probably come out first with Bill Moseley and Lynn
- 4:28Shay. I wrote the title song for that Scared to Death, which people
- 4:31will trip out on, and we also have another song in that movie.
- 4:36But that movie is crazy man. It's going to come to theaters for sure.
- 4:42So, oh, tell us a bit more about the movie. I
- 4:46held Billy Holly that dams from mate, like, it's actually a part of
- 4:48the franchise that you started. It's a franchise. I wrote the original one
- 4:58with everybody, with Bernadette Peters and Kevin Wayne to realize that it will be
- 5:03a franchise because I was in Halloween twenty eighteen got killed by Michael Myers Jamie
- 5:11Lee Curtis when they rebooted that from the original franchise that John Carpenter had started.
- 5:16So I was in Halloween sitting there on the set on my best scene,
- 5:21you know, with Michael Myers, James Jude Courtney, and I'm just
- 5:26thinking, you know, I'm sitting there with this shit all over my face
- 5:29and all the prosthetics to make me look really dead. You know, I
- 5:32can do a horror franchise like Halloween did back in the day. They did
- 5:35that one in seventy eight I believe, and then now here we are in
- 5:40twenty eighteen, So why can't I do the same thing. And that's what
- 5:45inspired me to do Hell Billy Hollow. So I called Kevin Wayne, who's
- 5:48a fellow actor who's from Alabama. Him and I were working on some other
- 5:54smaller film projects at the very beginning of my career when I got back into
- 5:58being in the creative part of my life, and he said, well,
- 6:02you know, I've got this hell Billy Hollow. There's a site, there's
- 6:05an actual haunted site in Alabama called hell Billy Hollow. So we set up
- 6:12the movie. We already had the scenes there and everything to introduce the world
- 6:15to Bull and Tickles my character's Bull and Kevin Wayne place tickles my brother and
- 6:19he can't talk. I'm the only one who can talk to him, and
- 6:23I'm a crazy motherfucker in the movie. And we got campers and lived on
- 6:28the site of hell Billy Hollow for a month and a half and shot hell
- 6:31Billy Hollow in Vincent, Alabama. So and then the next hell Billy Hollow
- 6:36Hollow too, will take you back kind of to the origins of how we
- 6:40even ended up in Alabama. So it's it's really cool, man, How
- 6:45is it right? And you've also got more than three dozen ho the songs
- 6:47recorded by so are they gonna holm an album or a soundtrack? There's another
- 6:51movie or something else. Yeah, We've got my EP work Hard Rock Card
- 6:57out that we've been touring on that came out in November and twenty twenty one.
- 7:00Got a few singles we put out like Hero Have a Cigar, but
- 7:04our cover of Pink Floyd My Dad passed in twenty sixteen, so you can
- 7:14check out all those songs. But yeah, I'm getting ready to put out
- 7:16of probably thirteen to fifteen song double album introducing the world to Kurtdimer. It'll
- 7:24be at our double debut EP or album not EP, and that'll be coming
- 7:29out early twenty twenty four, and we'll be touring with it as well and
- 7:33have copies for the fans and all that, and build a network of stores
- 7:38around the world that you can pick up our music at or at our website
- 7:42Kurtdimer dot com. So I can't wait. I've been working on this music
- 7:46with the Chris Lord Algae, who kind of discovered me in twenty twenty when
- 7:49I came out to LA during COVID and we've only been touring two years now,
- 7:56but we created all these songs and this is probably half of what we've
- 7:59already created that we'll be putting out on this double album. So, and
- 8:03what about the means of direction of those songs? For are they all sit
- 8:07with the Dame or do they have a bit of a cross section A lot,
- 8:09are similar to doom a lot? Or it's just my own brand of
- 8:13rock and roll. You know. I stay true to who I am.
- 8:16I don't try to be somebody I'm not. I've got a lot to say
- 8:20in my brain. Instead of going to therapy, I write lyrics for everybody
- 8:24in the world to learn from because I've been through so much fighting to get
- 8:26to where I am today on my own. Nobody handed me anything in life.
- 8:31I started oil companies before I got back into music, you know,
- 8:35with forty grand in a checking account that now ship product all over the world.
- 8:39I'm a worker. I'm more the give. The more you give in
- 8:43the world, the more you get. I believe in positivity and being kind
- 8:50to each other. And it's just it's crazy how it's all just kind of
- 8:56unfolding now. And if Chris wouldn't have discovered, you know, my music
- 9:00when I took it out to them that I had started, I don't know
- 9:05where i'd be today. But I'm very grateful for folks like yourself who having
- 9:11me on down in Australia other places around the world. And we've only just
- 9:16begun man, Like I said, we've only been touring two years, so
- 9:20listen bright all right, well, thanks very much for your tom that I've
- 9:22rightly been a pleasures just speak of May the other single Dame is out now,
- 9:26maybe hell Billy Hollway is out next year? You go stead Death coming
- 9:28out? Might you sound like you're going to be pretty busy, So it's
- 9:31luck with everything. Yeah, Yeah, And I think you'll find the vibe
- 9:35on the album. We're going to take you on a musical journey some of
- 9:39the songs that we've already had out and then the new ones. I've got
- 9:41another cool cover I'm working on with Jeff Tate, and I really think the
- 9:46folks in Australia will dig it. Well. One I might add one thing.
- 9:52My favorite band growing up in the eighties was the Hoodoo Gurus from Australia.
- 9:58So a lot of my influence I take from the Gurus, you know,
- 10:01the Gurrius. So in fact I told my management I go get a
- 10:05hold of their camp because I'd love to tour, do the Australian tour with
- 10:09them and open up for them to introduce ourselves around the Australia, so hopefully
- 10:18we'll get that done soon
