- 0:00Speaker 1: Chris Daly wearing the national flag blue outfit tonight. Very snazzy.
- 0:05Speaker 1: I like, and I like the bracelets too. What isn't
- 0:08Speaker 1: about this place? I mean, so dog on a fishing
- 0:12Speaker 1: offensively the last two games, it's been fun to watch.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Well, it's nice to be back in gamble, you know,
- 0:17Speaker 2: it's nice to be back and having the students back,
- 0:19Speaker 2: and you know, the crowd has been great, and we're
- 0:21Speaker 2: just in a good place right now. I think we've
- 0:25Speaker 2: kind of honed in on some some certain offenses that
- 0:28Speaker 2: we're running more and I think we're becoming more comfortable
- 0:30Speaker 2: with that. And I think our defense has been really good.
- 0:33Speaker 2: I think we've had some really good practices. We've locked
- 0:36Speaker 2: in on the Scantner report and how we want to
- 0:38Speaker 2: play and what we need to do, and we've we've
- 0:40Speaker 2: really executed well.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Speaking of office, the first couple of possessions, getting a
- 0:45Speaker 3: lot of a back door where they're you know, coming,
- 0:48Speaker 3: looks like it's a design play and usually you think
- 0:50Speaker 3: a team would take it away, but you were getting
- 0:52Speaker 3: a couple layups right there to start off, and even
- 0:55Speaker 3: in the second half, so it seems that players just
- 0:57Speaker 3: know where to look, where to pass and you're getting
- 1:01Speaker 3: people open.
- 1:02Speaker 2: We're a better team when we're moving, you know, like
- 1:04Speaker 2: when we're getting ball movement, we're getting people movement, when
- 1:06Speaker 2: we're changing sides of the floor, when we're getting hard cuts,
- 1:10Speaker 2: because even if the person who cuts hard doesn't get
- 1:13Speaker 2: the ball, they're dragging people with them and that gets
- 1:16Speaker 2: open shots for other people. So the more we work
- 1:18Speaker 2: as one and the more we're against people movement, ball movement,
- 1:23Speaker 2: we're really tough to guard.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Nice to see Caitlin Chen get going offensively tonight.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Yeah, she played great. She you know, I think coming
- 1:32Speaker 2: in as a fifth year or a grad student, it's
- 1:36Speaker 2: really hard to try to figure out your place and
- 1:39Speaker 2: your role and not wanting to upset the apple cart
- 1:42Speaker 2: in some ways. And she comes from a place where
- 1:44Speaker 2: she scored a lot of points last year and she
- 1:47Speaker 2: doesn't have to do that this year for us to win,
- 1:51Speaker 2: but she can do that and it helps us when
- 1:54Speaker 2: she does so, it gives us another weapon. And she
- 1:58Speaker 2: just played really well and played with a lot of confidence.
- 2:01Speaker 3: It seemed to quite a few times two man ball,
- 2:05Speaker 3: so to speak, where the side of the floor it
- 2:07Speaker 3: was Paige and Sarah Strong working really well together. On
- 2:11Speaker 3: that screen role, whether it's the curl or dumping down lid.
- 2:13Speaker 3: They worked really well together.
- 2:15Speaker 2: They've had good chemistry from the second we started playing,
- 2:18Speaker 2: so it's just continuing to get better and better. And
- 2:23Speaker 2: they both can pass the ball really well. I mean
- 2:25Speaker 2: a couple of the passes Sarah made, I thought Morgan
- 2:27Speaker 2: Shelley had a great pass day and the little bounce
- 2:29Speaker 2: passed down. Yes, so we were really unselfish. We had,
- 2:33Speaker 2: you know, twenty six assists on forty you know buckets.
- 2:36Speaker 2: So but you know, you have to be able to
- 2:40Speaker 2: take advantage of your strengths, and certainly Paige and Sarah
- 2:43Speaker 2: are two of our strengths and when we can get
- 2:45Speaker 2: them going and playing well, and Page just was really
- 2:48Speaker 2: she played really really well today. She just did a
- 2:51Speaker 2: lot of different things. She didn't pass up shots. She
- 2:55Speaker 2: you know, took the appropriate shot at the appropriate time,
- 2:57Speaker 2: whether it's you know, a wonderable pull up. You know,
- 3:00Speaker 2: she she gave, she took what they gave, and she
- 3:04Speaker 2: was aggressive in getting what she wanted.
- 3:06Speaker 1: So yeah, and she still had nine assists, yes, yes.
- 3:10Speaker 4: Talk about that.
- 3:11Speaker 2: That's it, you know, the having the big board now right,
- 3:14Speaker 2: Otherwise nobody probably would have known, but having it up there,
- 3:18Speaker 2: I think more people knew and she was aware of it.
- 3:21Speaker 2: But she said, you know, when you're playing well and
- 3:23Speaker 2: you're doing you know, you're doing a lot of things.
- 3:25Speaker 2: And I said, okay, so I guess the is it converse?
- 3:28Speaker 2: The converse would be true. So when you're not playing
- 3:31Speaker 2: well and you're not doing all those things, you know
- 3:33Speaker 2: that too. So I'm not really sure about that, But
- 3:35Speaker 2: that's that.
- 3:36Speaker 3: Line in what twenty five twenty six minutes of play.
- 3:39Speaker 3: I mean that talk about and not that, Yeah, she
- 3:41Speaker 3: played twenty something like that.
- 3:42Speaker 4: I think you have always spoke to that about her efficiency.
- 3:46Speaker 4: I think you you.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Know, and even three for three from the others her
- 3:50Speaker 2: free throws, see she missed her free throw again.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Well, you guys got to line a lot in the
- 3:55Speaker 1: first half. I figured, hey, we smashed the season high
- 4:00Speaker 1: for free throws.
- 4:01Speaker 4: It took a second half.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Well, you know, style the game, style, Yeah, the game, sure,
- 4:07Speaker 2: And you know, to their credit, I don't think they quit.
- 4:10Speaker 2: I don't think they stop. I think we made it
- 4:12Speaker 2: difficult on them, and you know, they had a couple
- 4:16Speaker 2: of runs and then we had to you know, we
- 4:18Speaker 2: had to clamp down a little bit, but overall, I
- 4:20Speaker 2: don't know that they could have done much else based
- 4:24Speaker 2: on how we played. You know, we didn't leave the
- 4:26Speaker 2: door open for them to you know, kind of get
- 4:30Speaker 2: back in the game or even start the game off quickly,
- 4:33Speaker 2: because that's the thing with a team like Villanova. If
- 4:35Speaker 2: you can get a lead early, it's hard for them
- 4:37Speaker 2: to then get back into the game.
- 4:39Speaker 4: I think that's what we were talking. There's villain.
- 4:42Speaker 3: They do some nice things. They were shooting the ball, decent,
- 4:45Speaker 3: everything they were doing. I think you just have a
- 4:48Speaker 3: tendency to make a decent team not look good just
- 4:50Speaker 3: because the way you're playing. I think you were able to.
- 4:52Speaker 2: And sometimes those shots go in after the you know,
- 4:55Speaker 2: after the game has already been decided. A lot of
- 4:58Speaker 2: the you know their shots because I think six or
- 5:01Speaker 2: thirteen that's better than five for seventeen. I mean, I
- 5:05Speaker 2: think one of them shot five for seventeen in the
- 5:06Speaker 2: first game. There might have been number twenty five, I'm
- 5:09Speaker 2: not sure. But so I think we had to work
- 5:12Speaker 2: really hard on Maddie Webber, She's a good player. In Jasmine,
- 5:17Speaker 2: the freshman Basco, we worked really hard at trying to
- 5:20Speaker 2: make things tough and they made some tough shots, So
- 5:22Speaker 2: you have to live with that.
- 5:23Speaker 1: All right, onto Omaha. Big East lead at stake and
- 5:27Speaker 1: I don't treat it. And we're playing in the Big House.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Yes supposedly. I heard today that they have ten thousand
- 5:33Speaker 2: tickets out for our game.
- 5:34Speaker 1: And that's a double and that's a double header.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Not really a doubleheader. It's like they play at twelve.
- 5:39Speaker 2: They emptied the building. Yeah, get and that's why we
- 5:42Speaker 2: can't tickets for No, they don't get tickets for both,
- 5:45Speaker 2: which I mean, it's hard now when you can draw
- 5:48Speaker 2: as a women's game ten thousand people, if those ten
- 5:52Speaker 2: thousand people wouldn't get in the building if it was
- 5:54Speaker 2: a doubleheader with the men, because if they have season
- 5:57Speaker 2: ticket holders, you know that it just becomes more problematic.
- 6:00Speaker 2: But we're looking forward to we've never played in the
- 6:03Speaker 2: Big Arena, although it is Scheduling is a problem because
- 6:07Speaker 2: their men play at noon, so their men have to practice.
- 6:10Speaker 2: We won't even get onto the court until that day,
- 6:14Speaker 2: the day before we're going. But we're not getting there
- 6:16Speaker 2: in time, but they have practice. It's the morning. We
- 6:19Speaker 2: can't shoot there. It's just a little bit of a mask.
- 6:22Speaker 2: But we'll make it work. It'll make it work. That's
- 6:24Speaker 2: where you're ukon, right, Yes, we'll make it work.
- 6:26Speaker 4: As Chris Daily leading that she knows how to make
- 6:29Speaker 4: make it.
- 6:29Speaker 2: We will make it work.
- 6:30Speaker 3: All right.
- 6:31Speaker 1: We'll see on the plane Friday. All right, thank you, Chris,
- 6:33Speaker 1: Chris Daily Daily Recap will come back. Wrap things up
