- 0:32Speaker 2: A dog walks into a bar, jumps onto a stool,
- 0:36Speaker 2: and orders a soda. The bartender squints and says, wait,
- 0:41Speaker 2: you're a dog. The dog nods correct and before you ask, yes,
- 0:48Speaker 2: this is a service animal. I'm providing emotional support to myself.
- 0:54Speaker 2: The bartender laughs. So what do you do for a living?
- 0:59Speaker 2: The dogs I work in a household with two humans
- 1:04Speaker 2: and a vacuum, high stress environment. The bartender slides over
- 1:09Speaker 2: the drink and says, rough day. The dog takes a
- 1:14Speaker 2: sip and says, let's just say I chase the mailman,
- 1:19Speaker 2: cop my own tail, and feel like I accomplished nothing.
- 1:24Speaker 2: The bartender smiles, that's life. The dog nods exactly. Now,

- 1:44Speaker 2: sixty five, where your journey matters exactly as it is.
- 1:49Speaker 2: I'm your host, Joe Wattis, and today we're talking about
- 1:53Speaker 2: comparison and how to let it go so you can
- 1:57Speaker 2: focus on your own path. But before we get into
- 2:01Speaker 2: all of that, we have our trivia question of the day.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Are you ready for it? Here? It is what ancient
- 2:09Speaker 2: Olympic rule prohibited athletes from competing against anyone except those
- 2:16Speaker 2: in their own event. We will have the answer when
- 2:21Speaker 2: we come back. Hey, they're amazing listeners. Are you looking

- 3:57Speaker 2: answer to this week's trivia question? The question was what
- 4:02Speaker 2: ancient Olympic rule prohibited athletes from competing against anyone except
- 4:08Speaker 2: those in their own event. The answer is athletes were
- 4:15Speaker 2: required to compete only within their own event category. Even
- 4:22Speaker 2: in ancient times. Fairness meant recognizing that comparison only works
- 4:28Speaker 2: when the race is the same. Life works that way too.
- 4:34Speaker 2: That's important to remember now, you know. Comparison steals joy
- 4:45Speaker 2: faster than anything else. It ignores context, It overlooks effort,
- 4:52Speaker 2: and it forgets that everyone starts somewhere different. Your path
- 4:58Speaker 2: is shaped by your experience's values and timing. When you
- 5:04Speaker 2: compare yourself to others, you miss the progress you're making
- 5:08Speaker 2: right now. Instead of asking why am I not there yet?
- 5:15Speaker 2: Try asking how far have I come? Your race, your pace,
- 5:23Speaker 2: your growth. We conclude this week's episode with a quote
- 5:40Speaker 2: from Theodore Roosevelt. Comparison is the thief of joy. Today,
- 5:49Speaker 2: redirect your focus inward, Celebrate your progress. And trust that
- 5:56Speaker 2: your journey is unfolding exactly as it should. Thank you
