- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, back to it. I want you guys, if
- 0:02Speaker 1: you join me just now, to listen to this. State Rep.
- 0:05Speaker 1: Dave Thomas is on the end of my line, and
- 0:07Speaker 1: I'm going to dial back just a little bit because
- 0:09Speaker 1: I want everybody to understand this. Now, this is a
- 0:12Speaker 1: bill on data centers in the state of Ohio, which
- 0:17Speaker 1: hasn't moved yet. And you said to me the votes
- 0:22Speaker 1: weren't there. It's got good points and bad points. Now,
- 0:26Speaker 1: I just want you to take it from the top.
- 0:28Speaker 1: This is a bill on... data centers in Ohio. Here's
- 0:32Speaker 1: the positive side. Tell people what the positive side is
- 0:35Speaker 1: of this, of this bill. Yes.
- 0:38Speaker 2: So this bill, um, is from a select committee. It's
- 0:43Speaker 2: house bill 646 currently in the Senate. The positives of this,
- 0:48Speaker 2: it really restricts all of the electrical issues and the
- 0:53Speaker 2: electricity payment side that we've all been facing and because
- 0:57Speaker 2: of much higher demand on the grid from data centers.
- 1:01Speaker 1: And how does it do that?
- 1:04Speaker 2: So it says that you cannot have a cost shift.
- 1:07Speaker 2: So when a data center comes in, they have to
- 1:09Speaker 2: build new transmission, new distribution of energy. There's a cost
- 1:13Speaker 2: shift there because the utility is paying for it, and
- 1:16Speaker 2: we're all essentially subsidizing. And there's another cost shift when
- 1:21Speaker 2: the data center pulls from the grid. It's pulling from
- 1:24Speaker 2: the same kind of market as all of us, in
- 1:28Speaker 2: terms of how much electrons are costing. Raising the price. Yep, exactly.
- 1:36Speaker 1: So what do you do? What does this bill do
- 1:39Speaker 1: about any of those?
- 1:42Speaker 2: It essentially says there's a separate new rate, a data
- 1:46Speaker 2: center rate class, so they have their own kind of cost,
- 1:50Speaker 2: their own auction, their own demand side, and any of
- 1:54Speaker 2: those costs that are associated with a new data center,
- 1:58Speaker 2: for example, must then be actually paid for by that
- 2:02Speaker 2: data center.
- 2:02Speaker 1: And not spread to other electric users.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Correct.
- 2:07Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 2:07Speaker 1: But it doesn't force them to create their own energy system?
- 2:12Speaker 2: So it does not force. That's where the incentive comes
- 2:15Speaker 2: in with the sales tax exemption. So they can do
- 2:21Speaker 2: that now with Hospital 15 that we passed last year.
- 2:25Speaker 2: data centers can build their own power plant, their own
- 2:28Speaker 2: energy generation on site. Nothing incentivizes that except for if
- 2:33Speaker 2: they've fastened up permits in the permitting time. So if
- 2:38Speaker 2: they want to build their own power and they do so,
- 2:42Speaker 2: it's a lot faster for them. But other than that,
- 2:45Speaker 2: there's no kind of requirement mandate incentive. Part of this bill,
- 2:49Speaker 2: that sales tax exemption piece, would be tied to them
- 2:53Speaker 2: bringing their own power behind the meter at that location.
- 2:57Speaker 1: That would be a 50% exemption on the state sales tax, correct?
- 3:02Speaker 2: So that would be up to, correct.
- 3:03Speaker 1: All right. So say if they create their own energy
- 3:07Speaker 1: producing supply and you're saying if they don't do that,
- 3:14Speaker 1: they have to bear the cost of being of any
- 3:19Speaker 1: additional cost on the grid. Is that correct?
- 3:23Speaker 2: Correct.
- 3:24Speaker 1: All right, but I don't understand. If they don't have
- 3:27Speaker 1: their own energy-producing aspect and they go on the grid,
- 3:32Speaker 1: they're going to need so much power from the grid
- 3:36Speaker 1: that it will still increase everybody's prices because the demands
- 3:39Speaker 1: will still go up because they're going to need so
- 3:42Speaker 1: much of that electricity. I mean, I don't understand how
- 3:44Speaker 1: they could be on the grid and not cost-shift to
- 3:47Speaker 1: me or raise my rate.
- 3:51Speaker 2: So there's... There's auctions for demand that happen several times
- 3:56Speaker 2: a year. There's different kind of groups or classes. So residential, commercial, manufacturing,
- 4:02Speaker 2: or industrial. And each one of those classes has a
- 4:05Speaker 2: certain part of the total amount of electrons that are
- 4:09Speaker 2: on the grid. And when they go out for the auction,
- 4:13Speaker 2: they'll auction for how much they think would be needed.
- 4:16Speaker 2: And that's part of that supply and demand piece. Because
- 4:19Speaker 2: the data centers are part of essentially all of our
- 4:22Speaker 2: current kind of demand, even though with them being on there,
- 4:26Speaker 2: the total demand for the grid is still impacted, there's
- 4:30Speaker 2: enough of a cushion or wiggle room with how many
- 4:34Speaker 2: electrons are actually on the grid that they can still
- 4:37Speaker 2: be added with there being essentially extra. So it's kind
- 4:41Speaker 2: of like adding a new lane onto the highway.
- 4:44Speaker 1: A separate category for them.
- 4:47Speaker 3: Correct.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Yes. All right, so basically they're not bidding against a
- 4:52Speaker 1: guy on the residential side, correct?
- 4:56Speaker 3: Yep, exactly.
- 4:59Speaker 1: So it doesn't seem like this is that bad of
- 5:02Speaker 1: a bill then?
- 5:02Speaker 2: No, I think, yes, because there's other aspects to it.
- 5:09Speaker 2: It prevents... Write down NDAs, nondisclosure agreements, are a big
- 5:13Speaker 2: concern with folks.
- 5:15Speaker 1: I see they got that in Hubbard. It's a public's business.
- 5:18Speaker 1: There shouldn't be nondisclosure agreements. It's ridiculous.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Yeah, if you sign one. Actually, part of that other
- 5:26Speaker 2: bill that I mentioned, 647, if you sign an NDA
- 5:29Speaker 2: as a public official, it's still a records requestable document.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Right. You should not sign a nondisclosure agreement as a
- 5:35Speaker 1: public official. This is a public's business. They should totally
- 5:39Speaker 1: be banned. Totally.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Yeah. And the other positive thing, in terms of the
- 5:45Speaker 2: tax side, this does also limit so local governments cannot
- 5:48Speaker 2: grant more than a 50% exemption.
- 5:51Speaker 1: On what?
- 5:52Speaker 2: On property.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Any local government. Or on income. On property or what?
- 6:00Speaker 2: Or income tax.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Yeah, there shouldn't be any exemption at all. I mean,
- 6:05Speaker 1: there shouldn't be any at all. Once again, I'm dead
- 6:09Speaker 1: set against all of that. What did you say? Where
- 6:11Speaker 1: was Tex Fisher on this?
- 6:13Speaker 2: So Tex is one of the ones that has led
- 6:16Speaker 2: against having these exemptions and these tax carve-outs for the
- 6:20Speaker 2: data centers. So he's been very strong at advocating against
- 6:26Speaker 2: having any exemptions in the bill or for data centers.
- 6:32Speaker 2: He's been leading the way.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Well, I salute him on that. I salute him on that,
- 6:39Speaker 1: but you're saying on the 50% sales tax exemption, if
- 6:43Speaker 1: you want to exercise that, you've got to build your
- 6:46Speaker 1: own power-producing facility, and you won't be affecting our grid
- 6:50Speaker 1: at all. Is that accurate? Yes.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Now, that's the current framework of the bill, but there
- 7:02Speaker 2: still are ways that you can essentially require work incentivize
- 7:06Speaker 2: senators to have their own power.
- 7:08Speaker 1: Without giving them the break, right? Yeah. Correct. Well, I'm
- 7:12Speaker 1: with Tex Fisher in a sense of I don't think
- 7:14Speaker 1: they should get any tax breaks. I am so sick
- 7:16Speaker 1: and damn tired of all these places getting tax breaks,
- 7:20Speaker 1: and at the same time, the property owner, the homeowner,
- 7:24Speaker 1: gets crapped on on a regular basis. I mean, if
- 7:27Speaker 1: I get it off my chest, I'm tired of everyone
- 7:30Speaker 1: gets a break except the citizen... homeowner who doesn't get
- 7:36Speaker 1: a break. I'm against giving any data center a property
- 7:39Speaker 1: tax break. I'm against giving them a sales tax break.
- 7:43Speaker 1: And I'm against any of that. Listen, I'm not against
- 7:46Speaker 1: data centers. That's fine. And I also say we have
- 7:50Speaker 1: to do something as far as I don't want you
- 7:53Speaker 1: coming on my grid and passing a cost on to me.
- 7:57Speaker 1: So you can do that through legislation, correct? I mean,
- 7:59Speaker 1: we can fix that. So are you anticipating what you
- 8:04Speaker 1: just described to me? Is there going to be a
- 8:05Speaker 1: different bill then?
- 8:06Speaker 2: That's a great question because we need to pass for
- 8:11Speaker 2: the three-fourths of this bill. It's really good. We need
- 8:13Speaker 2: to pass that. I'm not sure the timing of how
- 8:17Speaker 2: that's going to work. We were supposed to be on
- 8:19Speaker 2: recess following last night.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Right, enough of these recesses. I mean, with that being
- 8:26Speaker 1: said then, do you think this bill that you just
- 8:28Speaker 1: told me about will pass?
- 8:30Speaker 2: Not as currently written. I don't believe we have the
- 8:32Speaker 2: votes for that.
- 8:37Speaker 1: From Republicans and Democrats, you don't have enough to pass it? Correct.
- 8:41Speaker 2: We would never pass a bill without 50 Republicans. But
- 8:47Speaker 2: Democrats also, I think I share with you, they're very
- 8:52Speaker 2: still behind Democrats. giving the exemptions, giving the tax breaks.
- 8:56Speaker 1: I don't understand that. The Democrats want to give. I thought,
- 9:00Speaker 1: you know, they just hate business. But they're willing to
- 9:03Speaker 1: give them all these tax breaks. At the same time,
- 9:05Speaker 1: they just want to increase taxes on the citizen. I mean,
- 9:09Speaker 1: I don't understand. I don't understand how, for example, I'm
- 9:13Speaker 1: sitting here with Mahoney County commissioners and Trumbull County commissioners
- 9:16Speaker 1: that have the ability to give people a slight bit
- 9:20Speaker 1: of their property tax increase back to them. They have
- 9:24Speaker 1: the power to give it back. I'm sitting here with
- 9:26Speaker 1: commissioners that can double the homestead exemption right now and
- 9:30Speaker 1: can double the owner occupancy right now so people get
- 9:33Speaker 1: a small part of that increase back to them, and
- 9:36Speaker 1: they refuse to do that. Mahoning and Trumbull County say
- 9:40Speaker 1: refuse to do that. But we're talking about giving all
- 9:44Speaker 1: these breaks to a data center, which is owned by
- 9:47Speaker 1: some of the wealthiest companies out there. How does that
- 9:50Speaker 1: make a lick of damn sense?
- 9:54Speaker 2: And that's exactly why, you know, both text and I said,
- 9:57Speaker 2: we can't justify this to our people. You just can't
- 10:01Speaker 2: justify that. That's, that's why the lack of support. And
- 10:06Speaker 2: I think there'll be a new version, hopefully, or some
- 10:09Speaker 2: type of alteration because you just can't, I've been saying,
- 10:14Speaker 2: I can't look at someone who's building a house and
- 10:16Speaker 2: and say, I expect you to pay your full amount
- 10:19Speaker 2: of sales tax to us. But, yes, your Amazons, your Googles, no,
- 10:24Speaker 2: you can have a break.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Yeah, you're filthy stinking rich as a company, but you
- 10:30Speaker 1: can pay a 50% sales tax, but the average citizen
- 10:33Speaker 1: pays a sales tax on everything. This is insanity. I mean,
- 10:36Speaker 1: this is what's wrong. I agree with Tex Fisher. I
- 10:40Speaker 1: agree with you on that. It's simply wrong. And I'm
- 10:44Speaker 1: against any property tax abatements to any data center. As
- 10:48Speaker 1: a matter of fact, I'm at the point where I'm
- 10:49Speaker 1: against any property tax abatements to any business. I mean,
- 10:56Speaker 1: it's not fair to the citizens that are carrying the load.
- 10:59Speaker 1: We are being smothered by property taxes. And these communities
- 11:04Speaker 1: should think long and hard about buckling under to give
- 11:08Speaker 1: these property tax breaks to any business at this point
- 11:12Speaker 1: in time. I'm for having the business come in. shifting
- 11:16Speaker 1: the property tax burden to the business and easing it
- 11:19Speaker 1: on the citizen. How's that sound? Yep.
- 11:23Speaker 2: I always tell folks new development coming in shouldn't raise
- 11:27Speaker 2: other people's bills, but actually should lower them.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 11:30Speaker 2: Contribute more to the community. Otherwise you've seen the meetings
- 11:33Speaker 2: you've seen. We actually, just as an example, it's Trumbull
- 11:37Speaker 2: County has the most number of banned data center communities
- 11:41Speaker 2: in the state. Um, And I tell folks there's a
- 11:45Speaker 2: reason for that. It's because they're not seeing the benefit
- 11:48Speaker 2: of these when they come in, helping to lower bills.
- 11:51Speaker 2: They instead see them raising. And that could be for
- 11:53Speaker 2: housing developments. That could be for whatever type of development
- 11:56Speaker 2: you'd like. But this is just one example of that.
- 12:01Speaker 1: You cannot go on like this. It's creating such a
- 12:04Speaker 1: double standard and putting it on the back of the
- 12:08Speaker 1: property owner that the officials in your community that allow
- 12:12Speaker 1: this to happen, the answer should simply be no. It
- 12:15Speaker 1: should simply be no. If you want to locate here,
- 12:17Speaker 1: you've got to pay what everybody else pays to be here.
- 12:20Speaker 1: Particularly if you're an industry, let's say there's an industry
- 12:24Speaker 1: already in your community and you want to have an
- 12:27Speaker 1: industry come in that's doing the same thing. It gives
- 12:30Speaker 1: them a competitive advantage because they're not paying property taxes
- 12:33Speaker 1: versus the one that's been there forever that's contributing to
- 12:37Speaker 1: the community. It's not fair in the first place. But,
- 12:41Speaker 1: I mean, it's just, again, if you put a data
- 12:44Speaker 1: center in, you guys pay your property taxes. That lowers
- 12:46Speaker 1: the burden on the homeowner, and that's what you should
- 12:50Speaker 1: strive for. That's what you want, right? That's what Dex
- 12:53Speaker 1: Fisher wants? Exactly.
- 12:55Speaker 2: And we have seen examples. There are some in southern
- 12:58Speaker 2: Ohio where data centers have come in, and they've actually
- 13:02Speaker 2: paid off the rest of a school bond, for example,
- 13:05Speaker 2: where they've bought a fire station instead of the local
- 13:08Speaker 2: community paying taxes. and having a bond and a levy
- 13:10Speaker 2: for the fire station. So there's actually good examples of
- 13:14Speaker 2: these coming in, paying their taxes, and then also trying
- 13:17Speaker 2: to show, hey, we're going to help lower your costs.
- 13:21Speaker 2: We know you don't want us here, but you can
- 13:23Speaker 2: be good neighbors here as an example.
- 13:28Speaker 1: All right. I mean, it's all interesting. I hope this
- 13:35Speaker 1: gets worked out in the direction that you want to
- 13:37Speaker 1: take it and Tex Fisher wants to take it. But
- 13:42Speaker 1: you're not optimistic on that.
- 13:46Speaker 2: I would like to be more optimistic.
- 13:48Speaker 1: But you're not.
- 13:48Speaker 2: I'm not sure. No.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Well, hold your ground. Hold your ground. And I know
- 13:54Speaker 1: what you're going to tell me. Well, three quarters of
- 13:56Speaker 1: a sandwich is better than nothing. I get it. But
- 14:00Speaker 1: I'm just against the shakedown here. I'll say it again.
- 14:04Speaker 1: These data centers want to locate in Ohio because we
- 14:06Speaker 1: got the grid. We have the transmission lines. We have
- 14:11Speaker 1: the right weather. We're the sweet spots. We don't have
- 14:14Speaker 1: to do anything other than say where you want to
- 14:17Speaker 1: build and they will build. It's as simple as that.
- 14:20Speaker 1: And we should reap the benefits. The local communities in
- 14:24Speaker 1: the state should reap the benefits from them. period, for
- 14:27Speaker 1: however long they're going to be there. Give me an aye-aye, Captain,
- 14:30Speaker 1: on that, Dave.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Aye-aye, Captain.
- 14:32Speaker 1: I'll agree. All right. Thank you, Dave Thomas.
- 14:36Speaker 2: Thank you. Have a good day.
- 14:37Speaker 1: All right. That's State Rep Dave Thomas, NewsRadio 570 WKBN.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Hardest work in State Rep.
- 14:41Speaker 4: 4-9.
- 14:43Speaker 5: Youngstown's News, Weather, and Talk Station, 570 WKBN. I tell you,
- 14:50Speaker 5: it is just, these are interesting times, folks. 425 in
- 14:53Speaker 5: the afternoon, Ron Verb, Kingdom of Mahoning, NewsRadio 570 WQN.
- 14:57Speaker 5: I mean, at some point, you've got to stand up
- 14:59Speaker 5: to some of this stuff. And I don't care if
- 15:02Speaker 5: it's your local trustees. I don't care if it's your local,
- 15:06Speaker 5: whatever community organization you have, if you have a mayor,
- 15:09Speaker 5: whatever situation it might have. I mean, this whole idea
- 15:13Speaker 5: of tax abatements has just got to stop. I mean,
- 15:17Speaker 5: we are creating a two-tier system where, okay, so we're
- 15:22Speaker 5: going to give business some 10-year abatements, and we don't
- 15:27Speaker 5: do anything for the homeowners. It just puts the entire
- 15:29Speaker 5: burden on Joe Bag of Donuts, Joni Pepperoni, the homeowner,
- 15:35Speaker 5: as far as paying their property taxes.
- 15:36Speaker 1: They don't get a decent break at all. And when
- 15:41Speaker 1: there's the opportunity to give them a break from your
- 15:43Speaker 1: local commissioners, they refuse to do it. Don't ask me
- 15:49Speaker 1: to explain why. They just refuse to do it. It
- 15:51Speaker 1: doesn't make a damn lick of sense to me at all.
- 15:55Speaker 1: But yet when it comes to giving tax breaks to
- 15:58Speaker 1: some business that's going to locate somewhere, they'll go along
- 16:02Speaker 1: with it. It's just wrong. You either want to be
- 16:06Speaker 1: here or you don't want to be here. Data centers
- 16:08Speaker 1: will come here because it is a sweet spot weather-wise,
- 16:11Speaker 1: transmission line-wise. You don't need to give them a sales
- 16:14Speaker 1: tax break. You don't need to give them a property
- 16:16Speaker 1: tax break. What you need to do is say you
- 16:18Speaker 1: build here. then a levy generates is only allowed to
- 16:21Speaker 1: generate so much money on outside millage. They build here,
- 16:24Speaker 1: they get cited for their property tax, and then it
- 16:26Speaker 1: lowers the burden on each homeowner because you're now paying
- 16:30Speaker 1: less because these giant facilities will get a property tax
- 16:33Speaker 1: bill that pays a bigger percentage of that because of
- 16:37Speaker 1: their size, and it will ease your burden. I mean,
- 16:40Speaker 1: I realize a lot of people don't understand property taxes.
- 16:43Speaker 1: I get that. But it's time to wise up and
- 16:45Speaker 1: start understanding them. It's time for all of you that
- 16:49Speaker 1: have a mortgage payment that have no clue what you're
- 16:51Speaker 1: paying a month in property taxes, really go to the
- 16:54Speaker 1: auditor's website and find out what your property tax bill is.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Stop being ignorant. If you're paying it through your mortgage,
- 17:01Speaker 1: find out what you're paying a month right now in
- 17:04Speaker 1: property taxes. Because I'm here to tell you it will
- 17:07Speaker 1: only go up as time goes on. I'm trying to
- 17:09Speaker 1: get it to go down. I get all these mails
- 17:13Speaker 1: from people that say, you know, I never really paid
- 17:14Speaker 1: much attention to what you were saying. Then I paid
- 17:16Speaker 1: my house off and boy, now I understand everything what
- 17:18Speaker 1: you're saying. Well, why don't you pay attention before that happens?
- 17:23Speaker 1: So these, I'm just against any of these abatements that
- 17:29Speaker 1: I see taking place. I'm totally against them. It's not
- 17:35Speaker 1: fair to the citizen that is paying the property taxes
- 17:39Speaker 1: that is constantly being asked to make more sacrifices and
- 17:42Speaker 1: more of their money. And as I said to you
- 17:45Speaker 1: a million times, right now your commissioners in Moaning and
- 17:48Speaker 1: Trumbull County have the ability to double a homestead exemption
- 17:51Speaker 1: for poor senior citizens, double the owner occupancy, and they
- 17:55Speaker 1: refuse to do it. Everybody else is more important than
- 17:59Speaker 1: to give the person that's footing this large bill a
- 18:02Speaker 1: slight break. That tells you where their priorities are because
- 18:06Speaker 1: it just tells you. And when it comes to Moaning
- 18:08Speaker 1: County commissioners, they don't view it as your business and
- 18:11Speaker 1: your money. I don't know what their philosophy is. We're
- 18:15Speaker 1: going to build this new government center. We're going to
- 18:18Speaker 1: buy Eastern Gateway, tear it down, build a new one.
- 18:20Speaker 1: You get stuck with the bonds, but you don't get
- 18:23Speaker 1: a say-so on it. It's insane. News Radio 570 WKVN.
- 18:27Speaker 1: All right. Thanks for tuning in.
- 18:30Speaker 4: 436.
- 18:30Speaker 1: We're on verb on a Thursday with you to the
- 18:33Speaker 1: legal show at 5. Brought to you by Beatrice Kopp.
- 18:35Speaker 1: John Earl and Money Talks tonight at 6. You're on
- 18:39Speaker 1: the air. Thank you for waiting.
- 18:41Speaker 3: Oh, you're welcome.
- 18:41Speaker 4: Thank you for taking my call. First time caller.
- 18:44Speaker 3: Okay.
- 18:45Speaker 1: You sound a lot like JJ, the liberal first time caller.
- 18:49Speaker 4: I get that all the time.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Yes.
- 18:52Speaker 3: I went down to fair.
- 18:53Speaker 4: I don't general get some person voice for my art.
- 18:55Speaker 4: Some lady came up to me and said, you call
- 18:57Speaker 4: one verb show. And I said, yeah. And she goes,
- 19:00Speaker 4: I knew I heard your voice and it was a
- 19:01Speaker 4: lizard or something. I said, why don't you call in?
- 19:03Speaker 4: And I, she said, I'm too shy to do that.
- 19:05Speaker 4: I said, I thought I was stupid.
- 19:07Speaker 6: Call it in.
- 19:08Speaker 4: You know, But she was really nice. But anyway, I
- 19:11Speaker 4: wanted to let you know, I'm going to ask you,
- 19:12Speaker 4: I'm going to make you a bet.
- 19:14Speaker 7: Yes.
- 19:14Speaker 4: I will bet you a gallon of Milo's iced tea
- 19:18Speaker 4: to a Reese's peanut butter. I like those peanut butter
- 19:21Speaker 4: sticks at Reese's, like Reese's has.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Yes.
- 19:26Speaker 4: I'll bet you that, gentlemen's bet, that Trump doesn't sign
- 19:31Speaker 4: anything within the next five days. How does that sound?
- 19:36Speaker 4: He said he was going to bomb them, and then
- 19:38Speaker 4: he said, no, he's not going to bomb them. And
- 19:39Speaker 4: now it's another, then he says, well, we'll see. So
- 19:42Speaker 4: I think this is, what, 39 times now?
- 19:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:45Speaker 4: How many more times are we going to do it?
- 19:47Speaker 4: We're going to get kicked in the gonads, as they say,
- 19:50Speaker 4: and we're going to wise up to his. This is all,
- 19:53Speaker 4: you know, I have to.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Well, here it is.
- 19:56Speaker 4: I mean, I have a feeling there's a scam going
- 19:58Speaker 4: on here.
- 19:59Speaker 1: Trump cancels Iran strike scheduled for Thursday evening. Dow jumps
- 20:04Speaker 1: 700 points. Oil tumbles as Trump cancels evening strikes again.
- 20:08Speaker 1: So the Dow went up and oil went down because
- 20:10Speaker 1: he's not going to do this bombing. And I guarantee
- 20:15Speaker 1: you this. I bet you there's plenty of insiders. that
- 20:18Speaker 1: made a bunch of money in the market today when
- 20:19Speaker 1: he does this kind of crap. I mean, I hate
- 20:21Speaker 1: to tell you this, gang. I'm sure that there are
- 20:24Speaker 1: people that are privy to this information that make a
- 20:28Speaker 1: ton of money that would make your head spin as
- 20:32Speaker 1: a result of this. Now, this would be like the
- 20:34Speaker 1: 35th time or something like that that he has said
- 20:38Speaker 1: a deal is close, a deal is close. And they're
- 20:40Speaker 1: talking like it's basically– just a matter of time. Yeah.
- 20:46Speaker 1: They're talking like it's a done deal. And you're saying it's, uh,
- 20:50Speaker 1: you're not buying into it.
- 20:52Speaker 8: No, I think I'm going to, I.
- 20:53Speaker 4: Think I'm not going to, I think I'm going to
- 20:55Speaker 4: take behind curtain number two. I'm not going to, I'm
- 20:58Speaker 4: not going to go with this one. I think I'll,
- 21:00Speaker 4: I'll take curtain number two, see what behind curtain number two,
- 21:03Speaker 4: because I know curtain one is not a shiny ideal.
- 21:07Speaker 4: I know that's not a piece of dough in there.
- 21:09Speaker 4: And three, I don't like the number three. So I
- 21:11Speaker 4: think I'll take the middle number two, take the, uh,
- 21:14Speaker 4: And we'll see what Bob Barker says.
- 21:17Speaker 1: Okay, so wait a minute.
- 21:19Speaker 4: I'll be in honor. I'll honor my word. If he passes,
- 21:22Speaker 4: he signs something, I'll get you as much Milo's iced tea.
- 21:25Speaker 4: I love Milo's myself. I'll get you as much Milo's
- 21:28Speaker 4: iced tea. It'll be coming out your earlobes, my friend.
- 21:32Speaker 1: It already is. Now, I'm just– wait a second. I'm
- 21:34Speaker 1: bringing this up for a second. Let me see here. Okay,
- 21:38Speaker 1: Trump says Iran deal near after second day of U.S.
- 21:41Speaker 1: strike and attacks. So let me see what he says here.
- 21:45Speaker 1: President Donald Trump said today that a deal to end
- 21:48Speaker 1: the conflict with Iran is nearly complete, adding that negotiators
- 21:52Speaker 1: are finalizing documents and could sign an agreement in Europe
- 21:56Speaker 1: within days. Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump declared...
- 22:01Speaker 1: The negotiators had reached a breakthrough and suggested the agreement
- 22:04Speaker 1: was largely finished pending completion of final paperwork. We just
- 22:08Speaker 1: made a great settlement of the war with Iran, Trump said.
- 22:12Speaker 1: The documents are in pretty final shape, so we'll see.
- 22:17Speaker 1: It should be done pretty quickly. Trump said the agreement
- 22:23Speaker 1: would ensure Iran never obtains a nuclear weapon, which he
- 22:27Speaker 1: described as the central objective of the administration's pressure campaign
- 22:31Speaker 1: against Tehran. The president also said the Strait of Hormuz
- 22:35Speaker 1: would reopen once the agreement is signed, potentially easing pressure
- 22:39Speaker 1: on the global energy markets after weeks of military tension
- 22:43Speaker 1: and maritime disruptions in the region. Trump added that J.D.
- 22:46Speaker 1: Vance is expected to attend the signing ceremony, which he
- 22:50Speaker 1: said could take place in Europe as soon as this weekend.
- 22:54Speaker 4: He better pack his tuxedo, because that's going to be
- 22:59Speaker 4: a party, so he better pack his tuxedo. And I
- 23:01Speaker 4: have a feeling he's not going to do that. And
- 23:05Speaker 4: two things I want to end with, because I know
- 23:06Speaker 4: you're running short on time. So that bet is in
- 23:08Speaker 4: the works, and I.
- 23:09Speaker 3: Promise I'll fulfill my obligation.
- 23:11Speaker 4: All I want is a Reese's Sticks, which is about
- 23:13Speaker 4: two bucks. So we'll have a little gentleman's bet there,
- 23:16Speaker 4: my friend. And the other thing, too, is, one, did
- 23:21Speaker 4: I get on the backside of a posh lady? I
- 23:24Speaker 4: heard that was one of the best.
- 23:24Speaker 1: I didn't, I didn't hear that.
- 23:26Speaker 3: I didn't, I didn't, I didn't hear that.
- 23:30Speaker 1: She was, she was, she was looking forward to, she was,
- 23:35Speaker 1: she was looking forward to meeting you at the four seasons.
- 23:39Speaker 1: And even was going to purchase a painting or two
- 23:43Speaker 1: off of you as well. So I think she was disappointed.
- 23:45Speaker 2: That you weren't there.
- 23:46Speaker 4: That's what she's going to do.
- 23:47Speaker 3: I got it.
- 23:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:48Speaker 4: No, I mean, she had every right to. And I
- 23:51Speaker 4: understand her passion about that. And I give her.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Hey, listen, J.J., the liberals already signed a petition to
- 23:59Speaker 1: put it, make it a constitutional amendment. to be able
- 24:02Speaker 1: to vote on it for your property taxes. But, no,
- 24:05Speaker 1: I think she was looking forward to meeting you and
- 24:07Speaker 1: taking a picture of her and you together and then
- 24:10Speaker 1: sending it to me.
- 24:11Speaker 4: I just want to leave it on one more thing,
- 24:15Speaker 4: and I know you got my email the other day.
- 24:16Speaker 3: I just want to bring it to attention.
- 24:18Speaker 4: There's somebody online that keeps saying, on your show, that
- 24:22Speaker 4: keeps saying that the Muslims do not have to honor
- 24:24Speaker 4: any kind of agreements. If you look in the Koran,
- 24:28Speaker 4: That is the complete opposite, that they are obligated by
- 24:31Speaker 4: their faith, that if they make a, especially if they
- 24:34Speaker 4: make an agreement with people of other faiths, that they
- 24:38Speaker 4: must abide by those agreements. Okay? I just wanted to
- 24:44Speaker 4: sit there.
- 24:45Speaker 1: We shall see if any agreement is reached. Listen, I
- 24:48Speaker 1: hope what he's saying today is factual and accurate. I mean,
- 24:53Speaker 1: this thing needs to end now. Because if this goes
- 24:57Speaker 1: on beyond June, if we go into July this way
- 25:01Speaker 1: or August this way, well, look at the inflation numbers
- 25:05Speaker 1: that were out, 4% to 6%. This is just the
- 25:08Speaker 1: beginning of that huge inflation and energy costs going up
- 25:14Speaker 1: as well. It will be unbelievable if this thing doesn't
- 25:18Speaker 1: get resolved.
- 25:18Speaker 4: You can believe me.
- 25:20Speaker 3: I want him to.
- 25:21Speaker 4: To sign this, I want it. I will call you
- 25:23Speaker 4: guys the next morning.
- 25:25Speaker 3: And say, you did a great thing.
- 25:26Speaker 1: There you go.
- 25:27Speaker 4: I'll humble myself.
- 25:29Speaker 1: Well, keep this in mind, though. I don't know that
- 25:31Speaker 1: you'll call me and tell me that. He started this
- 25:33Speaker 1: in the first place. He started this, so he's got
- 25:37Speaker 1: to fix it. I mean, he started this mess, and
- 25:42Speaker 1: there's this... There's all these other countries that he's saying,
- 25:47Speaker 1: where are they? They're all saying, we're not getting involved
- 25:49Speaker 1: in this mess. You started it. You brought this on. Yeah.
- 25:53Speaker 1: All right.
- 25:56Speaker 4: All right, thanks.
- 25:59Speaker 1: JJ the Liberal, News Radio 570, WKBN. You're on air. Hello?
- 26:06Speaker 1: Line one. I hear noise. I'll put them back on hold.
- 26:14Speaker 1: You're on the air.
- 26:16Speaker 4: Yep.
- 26:17Speaker 3: I'm glad you read that, what Trump's doing.
- 26:20Speaker 1: We shall see. Now, listen, I don't mean to sound
- 26:23Speaker 1: like an ass to you, but we shall see because
- 26:26Speaker 1: I've heard this how many times now? Over 30 times.
- 26:29Speaker 1: A deal's close. A deal's close. Listen, I want there
- 26:32Speaker 1: to be a deal. I'm rooting for him to get
- 26:35Speaker 1: something done and this thing concluded. Remember, he started this mess. No,
- 26:41Speaker 1: you remember this. He started this mess. We didn't have
- 26:44Speaker 1: a problem getting through the Strait of Hormuz before he
- 26:48Speaker 1: started this mess. There wasn't a problem. Shipping was taking place.
- 26:51Speaker 1: Iran wasn't charging tariffs. So he brought all of this
- 26:55Speaker 1: on because of his action. And all of these shortages
- 26:59Speaker 1: he brought on because of his action, a lot of
- 27:01Speaker 1: these other countries aren't participating. They say, you started this mess.
- 27:05Speaker 1: We're not getting involved in this decision. So he made
- 27:09Speaker 1: quite a mess that he's got to clean up.
- 27:12Speaker 3: You've got to thank him sincerely for saving the world
- 27:17Speaker 3: from a nuclear holocaust.
- 27:19Speaker 1: I'm not going to thank him. I think that you're
- 27:24Speaker 1: falling into the BS that they want to send you
- 27:28Speaker 1: as far as that goes. What was the point of
- 27:31Speaker 1: the bunker?
- 27:32Speaker 3: He's all over the world and all through the United States.
- 27:36Speaker 3: And they fund him. What I'm trying to tell you
- 27:38Speaker 3: is he choked him like a snake. What is that
- 27:42Speaker 3: big snake that chokes you until you die? Anaconda, whatever? Yeah.
- 27:47Speaker 3: All right. So bottom line is, and then what he
- 27:52Speaker 3: just did today was he took all these restrictions that
- 27:56Speaker 3: Barack Hussein, Obama, and Joe Biden put restrictions on fishing.
- 28:02Speaker 3: So now the biggest thing, when we buy fish, we
- 28:06Speaker 3: don't want it from, you know, another country because it's
- 28:09Speaker 3: got mercury in it, you know. So now our clean
- 28:12Speaker 3: waters are going to have fish coming in. So you're
- 28:14Speaker 3: going to be able to get fish reasonably cheap. cheaper,
- 28:18Speaker 3: of course, but you're going to get fish from United
- 28:20Speaker 3: States fish. Isn't that great?
- 28:23Speaker 1: Yeah. I would prefer my fish to be... Well, it
- 28:28Speaker 1: depends what type of fish you want.
- 28:30Speaker 3: Well, no, we're talking lobster, scallops, everything.
- 28:34Speaker 1: Salmon, it's going to be all available now.
- 28:37Speaker 3: I don't know why these people put restrictions on them.
- 28:40Speaker 1: I don't eat lobster.
- 28:43Speaker 3: Oh, man.
- 28:44Speaker 1: I can't. I don't care. I mean... I have no
- 28:47Speaker 1: desire to eat lobster, and I don't even eat crab legs.
- 28:52Speaker 3: Oh, my Lord. Listen, crab legs with hot pepper.
- 28:58Speaker 1: Now, here's the rub, though. My wife does eat lobster
- 29:02Speaker 1: and crab legs, and I do not. So, I mean,
- 29:06Speaker 1: it's just on my cup of tea.
- 29:10Speaker 8: It's a great day in the United States for people
- 29:14Speaker 8: that love fish.
- 29:15Speaker 4: OK.
- 29:15Speaker 3: All right.
- 29:16Speaker 7: All right.
- 29:16Speaker 3: So we're going to we're going to have better access
- 29:19Speaker 3: and lower costs. Now, you got to thank him for that.
- 29:23Speaker 3: You know, see, this is the thing. Well, everybody's putting
- 29:25Speaker 3: down Trump. I don't understand people. You know what I mean? Oh,
- 29:29Speaker 3: by the way, I found a solution for Trump derangement syndrome.
- 29:32Speaker 3: You know what it is?
- 29:32Speaker 1: What is it?
- 29:34Speaker 8: It's giving people LSD and then playing YMCA over and
- 29:42Speaker 8: over and over again and then teaching them how to
- 29:46Speaker 8: dance like Trump.
- 29:48Speaker 3: They'll snap out of it.
- 29:50Speaker 1: All right. I got you. It's Bubba Ganoush, NewsRadio 570.
- 29:54Speaker 1: Nobody can hear you. You're on the air. Hello, hello, hello.
- 30:00Speaker 1: It says, Trump says Iran deal near after second day
- 30:05Speaker 1: of U.S. strikes. I'm going to hang up on that.
- 30:08Speaker 1: Strikes and attacks. So let's see. Let's see. I mean,
- 30:14Speaker 1: we've heard this so many times before. Sometimes I think
- 30:18Speaker 1: this manipulation of the markets by the stuff he says.
- 30:22Speaker 1: I don't know if you know he knows that stuff.
- 30:26Speaker 1: Where did I go? Where is... Of course, I'm running
- 30:29Speaker 1: out of time for Lauderdale Frank to do some analysis.
- 30:33Speaker 1: Trump cancels Iran strike scheduled for Thursday evening. Dow jumps
- 30:37Speaker 1: 700 points. Oil tumbles as Trump cancels evening strike against Iran.
- 30:42Speaker 1: Crude oil prices fall 3% after Trump calls off strike
- 30:46Speaker 1: against Iran. Okay, so that's all the news. So I
- 30:50Speaker 1: look at the markets, and let's see. The Dow's up
- 30:53Speaker 1: like 900 points. And 29 points. The S & P
- 30:57Speaker 1: is up 127. NASDAQ is up 640. And the Russell
- 31:03Speaker 1: is up like 85. So everything is in the green.
- 31:07Speaker 1: Everything is up as far as the stock market is
- 31:09Speaker 1: concerned based on what he said. Now, let's see if
- 31:12Speaker 1: it materializes. Obviously, he says he's not going to do
- 31:14Speaker 1: this bombing tonight. But then he's saying, well, a deal
- 31:17Speaker 1: is close and imminent. Now, he said this. How many
- 31:21Speaker 1: times has he said this? And nothing has materialized. So
- 31:25Speaker 1: I think his credibility is now on the line. I
- 31:29Speaker 1: don't care if you're a Trump voter, Trump supporter or not.
- 31:32Speaker 1: I voted for him. I won't vote for a Democrat.
- 31:35Speaker 1: But by George, his credibility is now on the line
- 31:38Speaker 1: because he said this too many times. If this doesn't
- 31:41Speaker 1: materialize this time, then I'm going to sit back and
- 31:45Speaker 1: think he's pulling this crap to manipulate the markets. And
- 31:50Speaker 1: I wonder if there isn't some insider trading going on
- 31:53Speaker 1: with people that know what he's going to say and
- 31:55Speaker 1: all that kind of stuff to make a ton of
- 31:58Speaker 1: money when the market goes up like this. Just asking.
- 32:01Speaker 1: Don't know. But he's saying, well, a deal is close.
- 32:06Speaker 1: We're not going to do the bombing. A deal is close. Well,
- 32:08Speaker 1: one better materialize is all I'm trying to say. Because
- 32:11Speaker 1: I've heard this for quite some time when he said
- 32:15Speaker 1: the same thing and nothing ever came from it. So
- 32:21Speaker 1: it doesn't matter to me whether you're a Trump supporter
- 32:23Speaker 1: or not. I'm here to say I'm getting tired of
- 32:27Speaker 1: talk is cheap, deeds are precious. Let's see if anything
- 32:30Speaker 1: materializes as a result of this. Because if it doesn't,
- 32:34Speaker 1: then it's just another hoax that has happened for 30
- 32:38Speaker 1: plus times. So this is a big credibility test for him.
- 32:43Speaker 1: He's called it off. And he gives me that Trump
- 32:47Speaker 1: says Iran deal near after second day of U.S. strikes.
- 32:50Speaker 1: I mean, when you read this stuff, where did I
- 32:54Speaker 1: have all this kind of stuff? I don't want that.
- 33:05Speaker 1: I thought I had it okay right here. President Donald
- 33:07Speaker 1: Trump said today that a deal to end the conflict
- 33:10Speaker 1: with Iran is nearly complete. So we shall see something
- 33:15Speaker 1: better materialize. Adding that negotiations are finalizing, negotiators are finalizing
- 33:20Speaker 1: the documents and could sign an agreement in Europe within days.
- 33:23Speaker 1: Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump declared the
- 33:26Speaker 1: negotiators had reached a breakthrough and suggested the agreement was
- 33:29Speaker 1: largely finished pending completion of final paperwork. We just made
- 33:33Speaker 1: a great settlement of the war with Iran. The documents
- 33:36Speaker 1: are in pretty much the final shape, so we'll see.
- 33:40Speaker 1: It should be done pretty quickly. Trump said the agreement
- 33:42Speaker 1: would ensure Iran never obtains a nuclear weapon, which he
- 33:45Speaker 1: described as a central objective of the administration's pressure campaign
- 33:49Speaker 1: against Tehran. The president also said the strait would reopen
- 33:53Speaker 1: once the agreement is signed, potentially easing pressure in the
- 33:56Speaker 1: global economy. So will there be a tariff in a state?
- 33:59Speaker 1: Doesn't say. Will Iran get any of their money back?
- 34:02Speaker 1: Doesn't say. I want to see this deal happen. News

- 35:31Speaker 6: weeknights on ABC News Live. The three-month-long war with Iran
- 35:34Speaker 6: and recent escalations despite a ceasefire could give way to
- 35:38Speaker 6: a permanent deal. President Trump says leaders have approved final
- 35:41Speaker 6: points on a peace agreement and says he's calling off
- 35:44Speaker 6: tonight's scheduled strikes against Iran. ABC's Stephen Portnoy has more.
- 35:47Speaker 7: What we heard the president say is that he has
- 35:49Speaker 7: just spoken to the prime minister of Israel, the heads
- 35:51Speaker 7: of Qatar, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, will soon be
- 35:54Speaker 7: talking to Turkey. He said the Strait of Hormuz will
- 35:57Speaker 7: be open. He mentioned that the U.S. has been engaged
