- 1:42Speaker 1: let's go.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Let's go.
- 1:44Speaker 1: It's a story you need to hear to believe. Then
- 1:47Speaker 1: grab your popcorn, because there is more. I spoke with
- 1:51Speaker 1: Senator Todd Young yesterday about the possibility of a peace
- 1:55Speaker 1: deal with Ukraine and Russia, wanting to get his take
- 2:00Speaker 1: on it and did he have any other information for
- 2:03Speaker 1: us with his being on the Senate Intelligence Committee. These
- 2:08Speaker 1: reports of a possible peace deal with Russia and Ukraine,
- 2:14Speaker 1: which would involve obstensibly Ukraine giving up more land than
- 2:21Speaker 1: Russia's already taken. It doesn't make NATO a it doesn't
- 2:26Speaker 1: make Ukraine a NATO nation, but it would make it
- 2:29Speaker 1: kind of I don't know NATO adjacent if you will,
- 2:33Speaker 1: from what you know, what can you tell us if
- 2:35Speaker 1: you know anything more? And what do you think of
- 2:37Speaker 1: the possibility of a deal here?
- 2:41Speaker 2: Well, thanks for having me on, Tony. You know, we're
- 2:44Speaker 2: all watching this situation in Ukraine and throughout Europe as
- 2:49Speaker 2: they hold negotiations about the future of Ukraine and the
- 2:53Speaker 2: Russia Ukraine War, watching it pretty intently. I've got to say,
- 2:57Speaker 2: you know, Marco Rubio, Secretary Driscoll who is our Army secretary,
- 3:03Speaker 2: and the President himself, they're working very hard to make
- 3:06Speaker 2: sure we get adjust in peaceful resolution to this war.
- 3:11Speaker 2: It's it's it's horrible. It's been an absolute blood letting
- 3:15Speaker 2: and and it's and it's just obviously not good for anyone.
- 3:19Speaker 2: So I have been vocal, you know, through social media
- 3:23Speaker 2: and interviews and all the rest, that any peace deal
- 3:28Speaker 2: has to be a good piece deal otherwise that you know,
- 3:32Speaker 2: it's a surrender. And what does a good piece deal
- 3:36Speaker 2: look like. Well, it should not limit the size of
- 3:41Speaker 2: Ukraine's armed forces, because we want Ukraine to deter any
- 3:46Speaker 2: further aggression, and it should not deter Ukraine from being
- 3:52Speaker 2: a viable independent nation in the future. Controlling its own future.
- 3:57Speaker 2: So that should reserve to the Ukrainian people, through their government,
- 4:03Speaker 2: the ability to dictate what their future relationship to other
- 4:08Speaker 2: European neighbors looks like. Uh, that should not be something
- 4:14Speaker 2: that Vladimir Putin gets to dictate in the terms of
- 4:18Speaker 2: an agreement. So I hope that we can, you know,
- 4:22Speaker 2: at this point in the conflict, which has turned into
- 4:25Speaker 2: really a stalemate now for a number of years, I
- 4:30Speaker 2: hope we can get some sort of agreement that it
- 4:34Speaker 2: will not include the provisions I've had, but will bring
- 4:37Speaker 2: this horrible fighting to a close so that the Ukrainian
- 4:41Speaker 2: people can resume uh, you know, economic growth and prosperity
- 4:46Speaker 2: and peace and and and Vladimir Putin will go back
- 4:51Speaker 2: to uh, you know, being the leader of his country
- 4:55Speaker 2: and not meddling in in his what he likes to
- 5:00Speaker 2: called near abroad, the countries of Europe, just outside of
- 5:04Speaker 2: his borders.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Is this a deal that is pro America? Is this
- 5:11Speaker 1: a deal that is dear Lord? The best we can
- 5:14Speaker 1: do is just stop the killing, because we don't have
- 5:16Speaker 1: the resolve, the dollars, or the hardware to push of
- 5:21Speaker 1: Vladimir Putin all the way back. Is there anything that's
- 5:25Speaker 1: going to be seen in this from your colleagues as
- 5:32Speaker 1: we're wimping out here, we're not doing enough, we're not
- 5:34Speaker 1: pushing hard enough to stop Vladimir Putin and not reward
- 5:39Speaker 1: this kind of naked aggression.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Well, the original terms of the twenty eight points of
- 5:47Speaker 2: this agreement were, you know, they began the conversation and
- 5:53Speaker 2: I think the Ukrainian government Zelensky appropriately said that there
- 5:59Speaker 2: are some points here that would undermine our sovereignty, our security,
- 6:03Speaker 2: our future prosperity, and he couldn't live with them. Now
- 6:07Speaker 2: we're down to I think the number is nineteen points
- 6:10Speaker 2: that are more acceptable, and it's in the balls in
- 6:15Speaker 2: the court of Vladimir Putin to see whether or not
- 6:18Speaker 2: he can accommodate himself make some moves in terms of
- 6:24Speaker 2: the negotiation to bring this horrible war which he started
- 6:29Speaker 2: to an end.
- 6:31Speaker 1: I just don't know if he's willing to do it.
- 6:33Speaker 1: My full interview with Senator Todd Young is there at
- 6:36Speaker 1: WBC dot com. You should give it a listen.
